You Have What It Takes

Let's start out and pray your father.

We just thank you, lord, for your word.

It is alive, it is powerful.

We just thank you, father, that we are not only hears of your word, but we are doers of your word.

Father, we just thank you that our hearts are open tonight to what you have to say.

Holy spirit, you are welcome in this place.

It is not us, it is not not about us, but it's about you working through us.

You, we are just vessels, we are yielded vessels towards you, father, and so we just thank you.

We give you all the glory and all of the honor and all the praise and Jesus name.

Amen, amen, amen.

So if you're taking notes tonight, the time, my message is you have what it takes, and so it's just an encouraging message on being an overcomer.

And so, pastor um, I love all of his series, but, uh, uh, recently I've especially liked his series on deception.

Um, what a timely message.

And then also um, before that I believe it was before that he had a series on being an overcomer.

And so we are overcomers.

And so my first uh Verse is first john five, four in the new king james.

First john five, four in the new king james says whatever is born of god Overcomes the world, and this is the victory that has overcome the world, our faith.

Let me read that again for whatever is born of god Overcomes the world, and this is the victory that has overcome the world, our faith.

And so, here you know everyone who's been born of god.

He's saying when you call on that name, you're a new creature.

In christ, all things are passed away.

And so to overcome means to conquer, to subdue, to prevail, to get the victory to win.

Right, right, it means to conquer, to subdue, to prevail, to get the victory to win.

And so, no matter what circumstances you may be facing in life, no matter what, um, uh, people have done, what the devil has done, what people have said, you are an overcomer.

And so, uh, you have what it takes to overcome and to walk triumphantly.

You have what it takes.

You don't have to to be, oh well, when I get this age, or when I reach that, or when I, um, you know, make it to that financial bracket, or when I do this and no, no, no, you already have what it takes inside of you.

Be cannot in and of yourself, in the natural.

But because of what this verse says hey, we have the victory.

Whatever is born of god, we are born of god, we're new creatures, right, and so we have what it takes.

And so we have to remind ourselves I have what it takes to live a life that's victorious, to live a life, uh, triumphantly, to live a life that's not defeated, that's not down here, that's not below, but to live up here, right.

And so it's the walking it out part, right, that sometimes gets fuzzy.

It's the walk how, and you know it's the walking it, walking it out.

And so, no, no matter, you know what your financial situation is, no matter what, what's going on in your body.

Um, you have what it takes.

God's giving us his very best.

He gave us jesus, Right, he gave us jesus, he gave us his best.

And so you have what it takes to live victoriously In your home, at work, at school, in relationships.

You have what it takes, and so there's victory in jesus, amen.

A couple of different translations of that same verse.

And first john, first john five, four and five.

And the message says every god born person, person, conquers the world's ways.

The conquering power that brings the world to its knees is our faith, the person who wins out Over the world's ways is simply the one who believes jesus is the son of god.

Simply put Right, pretty simple.

We complicate things.

Well, you got to do this and you got to have a checklist, and, and, man, so it's a struggle.

I'm on the struggle bus and, uh, no, no, no, no.

This verse right here, if you just read this every day, every god born person conquers the world's ways.

Right, and that's us.

Everybody say that's me, that's me.

And so the conquering power that let me read again that brings the world to its knees, is our faith.

The person who wins out, the person who wins out Over the world's ways, is simply the one who believes Jesus is the son of god.

It's just believing.

It's believing not.

Not until I see it, then I'm gonna believe it.

No, well, that's not faith, right.

And so we believe it, even when we don't see it, even when Our natural, our five senses said well, it doesn't look like it, doesn't taste like it, doesn't feel like it doesn't, doesn't sound like it.

No, we have to believe, right, the person who wins out.

You have what it takes, you're a winner.

And so the person who wins out is the one who just simply believes Amen.

And then the passion translation.

It says you see, every child of god overcomes the world, for our faith is a victorious power that triumphs over the world.

Isn't that good?

And then in my bible notes, let me just read this it says John shows how faith, love and obedience are related to each other.

Faith brings us into a loving relationship with god, and love for him leads to, and love for him leads to, love for other Christians and to the obedience of his commandments.

My good, they are not burdensome, for the practical benefits of obedience to all god's laws are entirely Contributive to human good and fulfilling to those who learn their application to life.

Our faith brings victory over the world, providing a spiritual weapon by which we can combat both the temptations, both the temptations and the persecutions of a godless society, right?

And so here's John saying hey, you have what it takes.

We live in this godless society, right, it's not going to get better.

Right, we read the book.

It's not going to get better, and so.

But we are to be salt and light, just like pastors Said this morning, we're to be salt and light here in this dark world.

And so it's the application of hey, we're overcomers, you have what it takes.

Yes, I heard pastor preach on being an overcomer, but what do I do now?

What changes?

Something should change.

If you hear a message on being an overcomer and you're still at the same place you were last year, the year before.

That's called being stagnant, and so God wants us to.

Hey, you know what?

There's some things that maybe I need to change.

The word of God says to come close to me and I'll, I'll draw close to you.

So, hey, draw close.

To get into the word.

Right, there's fresh revelation for us, and so um and so part of that versus our faith.

So Roman, so a couple of other scriptures Romans 117 and the New King James, for in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith.

As it is written, the just shall live by faith.

Amen, let me read that again, for in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith.

As it is written, the judge shall live by faith, and that's how we live.

We live by faith.

This life that we live, it's by faith, right, it's a faith life.

Hebrews 10, 38 in the New King James says now, the judge shall live by faith, but if anyone draws back, my soul has no pleasure in him.

So God doesn't want us to draw back.

Why do we draw back?

We shouldn't draw back.

Right, it's easy to blame the enemy, but no, don't draw back.

I think, just, living in this Godless society and, uh, with all the things, all the distractions, always tell the teenagers, hey, when it's Bible time, put your phone away, like it's just a distraction.

Right, put the TV away, put your phone away, put your iPad away, put your computer away, like we should tell that maybe to the adults also.

Right, like, preach to myself.

Now, put it in another room.

When, jane, I do devotionals, sometimes we like to have our phones, because then you look up different, you know translations or whatever.

But then, oh, there's this notification that came up.

I'm like who's notifying what it is at 911.

Are we emerging?

What's going on?

And so those are just distractions, you know.

So we can't dig deeper into the word.

And then sometimes it does cut short.

I'm like, well, what did I get out of that?

What was like a five minute reading, and okay though, that was great, but I wanted more.

But then we have to.

We have to do a, b and C and D, and I'm not saying you know, there we do dig deeper.

But I'm just saying like that's what the enemy wants.

He wants to distract you from the word of God because he knows that you, if you get ahold of this, hey, that maybe they know they are overcomers, maybe they'll they'll get a glimpse of who they, who I've made them to be Right.

And so God wants you to dig deeper into the word of God.

You know you have to, you have to ignore all of those distractions and put it away and dig deep into the word, put it first Amen.

Simple little words, but we have to say them constantly and actually do them.

And so the just shall live by faith.

Second Corinthians five seven says we walk by faith and not by sight.

Right, so this overcoming, this winning in life, it's found, this living it out, right, this living it out, it's found it through our faith.

We walk in.

Second Corinthians five it says we walk by faith and not by sight.

And so the steps we take, right, the way we love, the way we talk, the way we conduct ourselves, the text messages we send, the emails we send, how we talk to our coworkers, how we talk to our teachers, our coaches and not everybody is nice and not everybody is friendly, right.

And so we're called to be salt and light.

You have what it takes.

You have what it takes to overcome, and so we walk by faith and not by sight.

Revelation's 12 11.

And the new King James says and they overcame him by the blood of the lamb and the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives into themselves.

They overcame we're overcomers by the blood of the lamb.

What Jesus did right.

This is how we win.

This is how we win by the blood of the lamb, what Jesus did for us.

Period, right, period.

That's it what Jesus did.

Romans 10, eight and 10 and eight through 10 in the new King James.

But what does it say?

The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart.

So here's like the practical side of hey, this is faith.

And how do you know we have faith, we live this life of faith?

How do we win?

We're winners.

God tells you know.

The word says on Victoria's I'm an overcomer, but it's in the daily, it's, it's what we think about and what we say.

And so Romans 10, eight through 10, says the word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart.

In your mouth and in your heart.

That is the word of faith.

We walk by faith and not by sight.

No, sorry, we already read that scripture, romans 10.

The word is near you, in your, in your mouth and in your heart.

That is the word of faith which we preach, right, and you don't have to have a mic to preach, we just have to live it out, right, we don't have to.

I don't like I used to not like this mic I just don't want to get up in front of people and talk like do I have to Like?

Yes, you're called to do that, but you know, I saw the teenagers hey, if some people may never run across the Bible, the only Bible they may run across is you.

And so what is what?

Are you living out, right?

What are you living out?

Stanky attitude, a smirk on your face, or do you have the love of God?

Are you proclaiming the word of God?

Right, and so it's the way we live, living out this faith, living out this word, amen.

This is a happy message, this is a good message, amen.

So it says here, romans 10, that if you confess and this is not just, we think of this scripture just as salvation scripture, but it is an everyday scripture.

It is not just like a once upon a time I got saved and okay, I'm just going to confess out of my mouth and believe in my heart and that one day and that's it.

Now.

One day I got baptized and I'm good.

No, no, no.

It's like an everyday thing.

Every day you confess out of your mouth.

Every day you believe in your heart.

Paul didn't mean that just for that one day of salvation.

It's an everyday thing.

So if you're not ever saying anything, if you're just well, I'm just shy and I'm not going to say anything, well, you lose by default.

You're already looked, but no, you have what it takes.

It's in there, it's deep on the inside for you, but you have to allow it to come out.

Amen.

What you believe in your heart, you have to let it come out of your mouth.

So Romans 10 here he says if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God raise him from the dead, you will be saved.

For with the heart one believes into righteousness and with the mouth, confession is made unto salvation, amen.

So the keys to overcoming what you believe and what you speak.

Second Corinthians, 4.13,.

I'm giving you a lot of scriptures and J says I go fast, so I try to slow down.

Second Corinthians, 4.13, and since we have the same spirit of faith, according to what is written, I believed, therefore I spoke In that good, we also believe and therefore we speak.

The two have to go together Right, our believing and our speaking.

It's a must.

You have to, if you're.

You know our theme.

I was going to say that later, but our theme is Proverbs 18.21 in the message, and our sorry, our youth theme.

What we're teaching on now is the talking about words.

Words kill, words give life.

They're either poison or fruit.

You choose Right and so, like you can, words come out of your mouth.

You'd be like, oh, did I say that?

Well, really it's just a reflection of what's already in your heart.

So really it's a heart thing, because you can try to fix your words all day long.

Why do I sound so harsh and why do I?

No, it's a heart.

You have to fix your heart.

Allow the Holy Spirit to fix you, allow God.

It doesn't have to be difficult.

He gave us the Holy Spirit to help us.

And so if your words, if you watch your words, and they're not lining up with the word of God.

Really, you have to go back to your heart and there's something in there, right?

And so let's see 2 Corinthians 4.13, and since we have the same spirit of faith, according to us, I believe, therefore I speak, we also believe, therefore we speak.

And so Paul calls that spirit of faith right.

Dealing with issues, I don't quit, I don't back up, I keep going, I keep moving forward, I believe and I speak.

Amen.

And especially you're.

Not only are you when you speak, and especially if you have little ones at the house or other people at the house, like you're training them.

And so the way you speak, how you say it, what you say, not only what you say, but how you say it, you're training up our next generation, and that is so important, the way we always having faith filled words, always positive, always encouraging, amen.

Mark 11, 23 says, for surely, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, be removed and be cast into the sea, and does not doubt in his heart but believes those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says.

And so there's a correlation between, hey, having doubt in your heart, right, we have to make sure that we're not having any doubt in our heart, right, and so there's power in that.

Saying three times and believing is important, but saying three, three to one, and so what we say, again, you have what it takes.

You have what it takes to say the right thing.

You have what it takes to speak faith filled words.

Even through the deepest, darkest hour of your life or seasons, you can speak the word of God.

It is possible.

Amen.

And so it's important what we say, pleading the blood of Jesus.

I mean we sing about the blood of Jesus here all the time.

It's not just a song, it's a way of life.

I plead the blood of Jesus over my mind.

I plead the blood of Jesus over my situation.

I plead the blood of Jesus over my kids.

I plead the blood of Jesus over my husband.

I plead the blood of Jesus over Gloriously Church.

We plead the blood, we slain the blood.

There's blood everywhere, right, we slain the blood, and so we have faith in the blood of Jesus.

Amen.

John 1633 in the New King James.

And then I have a couple of points in Dottel Pastor.

I stole his points but I wrote my own.

I have his points but I have different notes under his points and John 1633 says these things I have spoken to you that in me, this is Jesus talking.

In Jesus, you may have peace In the world, you will have tribulation, right.

But it doesn't stop there, right, in that good that it doesn't stop there.

It says but what?

Be of good cheer?

I have overcome the world, and so Jesus overcame the world.

We're overcomers too.

Be of good cheer.

He's like, hey, you know what?

I know it's gonna be tough, right.

And so he was telling us the type he was like it's gonna be tough, you ain't gonna see me, you've been with me for a while.

But he's saying be of good cheer, I have overcome.

And the greater one lives inside of you, right, the greater one lives inside of you.

So be of good cheer.

You don't have to get stressed.

Just like everybody else, you don't have to live in fear.

Just like everybody else, you don't have to worry.

Just like everybody else, you have what it takes to be an overcomer and to live triumphantly.

You have the greater one lives on the inside of you.

We just have to choose daily, right, choose daily.

It's the supernatural and the natural coming together, right, working together.

We know the things that we need to do and we do them Right, right, okay.

So a couple of points.

Pastor's points.

I'm going to give him credit.

Number one the overcomer thinks right and I just wrote down the scripture reference.

Excuse me as I wipe my nose, but I didn't write down the whole story.

I was reading about Naaman, if you want to turn to me with second Kings 5.

So, number one the overcomer thinks right, the overcomer thinks right and I'm going to read about Naaman in second Kings 5.

Now Naaman I don't think I'll read the entire chapter, but I'll read quite a bit of verses Now.

Naaman, commander of the army of the king of Syria, was a great and honorable man in the eyes of his master, because by him the Lord had given victory to Syria.

He also was a mighty man of valor, but a leper.

And the Syrians had gone out on raids and brought back captive a young girl from the land of Israel.

She waited on Naaman's wife.

Then she said to her mistress if only my master were the prophet who is in Samaria, for he would heal him of leprosy.

And Naaman went in and told his master, saying thus and thus said the girl who is from the land of Israel.

Then the king of Syria said go now and I will send a letter to the king of Israel.

So he departed and took him ten talents of silver, six thousands shekels and gold and ten changes of clothing.

I put there on the side note you can't buy what God already has provided for.

Right, god already had provided his healing.

But he's like I'm going to bring this and I'm going to bring this and I'm going to do this and I'm going to bring ten shekels of gold and silver and clothes.

And that's how it's going to be.

And I think a lot of times and we'll read on like we have this misguided expectation of how God is going to do something.

Well, it's going to happen this way.

You don't know.

God knows.

And that's why we need to stay in tune with how God's going to do it, because his way is the best way.

Right, his way is the best way, it's only his way.

And then, let's see, let's skip down to verse eight.

So it was when Elisha, the man of God, heard that the king of Israel had torn his clothes that he sent to the king saying why have you torn your clothes?

Please let him come to me and he shall know that there is a prophet in Israel.

And if you skip down to verse 10, elisha sent a message to him saying go and wash in the Jordan seven times and your flesh shall be restored to you and you shall be clean.

But Naaman became furious and went away and said indeed, I said to myself, he will surely come out to me and stand and call on the name of the Lord, his God, and wave his hand over the place and heal the leprosy.

Just wave your little wand.

That's how he's going to do it.

And then, and so verse 13,.

If you skip down to, could I not wash at verse 12.

And then, going on to 13, could I not wash and then be wash in them and be clean?

So he turned and went away in a rage.

So he was mad, he was upset because he in his brain thought, hey, if he just waves his little wand, and this is how it's gonna be right.

And verse 13,.

And his servants came near and spoke to him and said my father, if the prophet had told you to do something great, would you not have done it?

I'm glad he was surrounded by not yes, men, all right there.

His servants were telling him straight up.

They could have kept his mouth shut.

Let me just turn my nose this way.

There's mess going on over there, but I'm gonna turn my nose this way, right?

But his servants was like, could you, is that a difficult thing to do, really no.

So they spoke up.

They spoke up to Naaman, my father.

If the prophet had told you do something great, would you not have done it?

How much more then when he says to you wash, dip in the Jordan, dip right, wash and be clean.

So he went down and dipped seven times in the Jordan, according to the saying of the man of God, and his flesh was restored like the flesh of a little child and he was clean, right.

And so there's so many points you can get from that story.

But going back to verse, to the point one, the Overcomber thinks right.

I think Naaman a lot of times is thinking wasn't right.

He had some kind of expectation of this is the way God's gonna do it.

No, it wasn't right.

And so a lot of times I think in life, well, this is the way.

Well, that hasn't happened.

And I think, if this isn't, no, hey God, I surrender right, like I surrender my whole life, my whole emotion, my whole little puny brain that thinks, oh, he's just gonna wave his wand and I'm upset because he told me to go over there, but in the Waterloo Bay and that's too brown, I think it needs to be over here in Cancun, right where the Blue Ness River is, right, but straight up.

That's what he did and he was furious, he was mad, but God was merciful, he was healed.

God loves us, even when we mess up and when we think things should be a certain way and they're not.

God has mercy, right, he's a good father, he has mercy.

And so the Overcomber thinks right, and sometimes there are little things that we might.

You might think you're thinking right, but if you don't dig into the word every day, I can tell you we ain't thinking right, because it's only the word of God that renews our mind right.

It's only the word of God that really renews our mind and gets our thinking lined up with his word, because we can have stinking thinking right.

Somebody says something, somebody did something, somebody didn't do something, they should have done something, and here we go with the stinking thinking.

But no, the word of God is what renews our mind.

And so the Overcomber thinks right, amen.

So learn from them, amen and don't.

We're not prideful, but we have to make sure to dig into the word and that we're thinking right.

Amen.

Hebrews 12, five and six.

And then you living.

Have you forgotten the encouraging words God spoke to you as his children?

He said my child, don't make life with the Lord's discipline and don't give up when he corrects you, for the Lord's discipline disciplines those he loves and he punishes each one he accepts as his child.

And then the next verse, verse 12, hebrews 12, seven.

As you endure the divine discipline, remember that God is treating you as his own children.

Whoever heard of a child who is never disciplined by its father?

And so I think, just part of name and story, part of thinking right, part of humility.

God disciplines us and it's for our own good, like we have to make sure that we're thinking right, and we all have blind spots that sometimes we don't see and other people may see.

And you have to make sure that.

Hey, god, those blind spots that maybe I don't see, show them to me, holy spirit, show them to me, because I wanna become more like you.

Less of me and more of you right.

Less of me, less of my way am I doing things right?

And more of you.

And so that looks a certain way and that sounds a certain way, and so we can all come up higher to that amen, our life is not our own.

Luke 6, 46 in the new living translation says why do you keep calling me Lord Lord when you do not what I say?

And so we have to make sure, and I put rebellion here.

Rebellion is knowing what to do and not doing it right, and a lot of times people call it something else, but really it's rebellion and that's a whole nother message within itself.

But we have to make sure to stay tender before God, right?

Just always stay tender before God and make sure our thoughts are lined up with his word and what his word is saying, and to renew our thoughts and to change our thoughts.

You know, just like, if you have a weed in your elected garden, and if you have those weeds, those pesky weeds, they always just come up right, and some of them even look like flowers, but you have to replace them.

You have to dig them up, and if you don't replace them, another weed is gonna come up.

And so that's just like our thoughts.

You have to replace them with the word of God, because that's what's gonna produce in your life right, amen.

And so number two the overcomer talks right, and so it's a progression when you think differently, you're automatically gonna talk differently, right, praise God, hallelujah, thank you Jesus, right, sometimes, if you don't know what to say, thank you Jesus, thank you Lord, for this day.

I thank you, lord, that I have favor.

Great is the peace of my home.

You know, we just constantly we should be talking right, and so that's how you can locate people is by the way they talk, and so we have to make sure that we're talking right, and I wrote this down in Joshua six.

You know the walls of Jericho, they shouted.

I'm sure they looked at them crazy, with those seven priests and trumpets out there and walking around like what are they doing?

Right?

But they were shouting.

Those walls came tumbling down.

So whatever walls are in your life, they can come tumbling down by the words that you say and the tenacity that which you say them right.

And so you have to have some tenacity.

You have to have some, you know, oomph, right, and so those walls can come down.

So Joshua led them into that, and so we have to make sure to talk right.

Faith laughs at the impossibilities.

Ha ha ha ha, right, that thing that may seem impossible.

Ha ha ha ha.

You just laugh at it.

We laugh, amen.

And then, okay, two more points, and then I'll be done.

Number three the overcomer walks right, and the scripture that just came to me was Psalm 37, 23 and 24,.

The Lord directs the steps of the godly.

He delights in every detail of their lives.

Though they stumble, they will never fall, for the Lord holds them up, holds them by the hand, and so every step you take, the Lord directs your steps right, the way we walk where we're walking to, right.

And so every step you take, the Lord directs.

The overcomer walks right, right.

And so we have to make sure be careful how we walk, right, not being as, like scripture says, hey, walk circumspectly, don't be like a fool, know what you're doing, don't veer off over here.

And don't veer off over here at this distraction.

This person may be distracting you, and then that guy may be distracting you, and this and that family member.

No, no, no, no, we're right here.

This is where I want you right.

And so the overcomer walks a certain way, and so you have what it takes.

You have what it takes, amen, amen.

And so number four, and then the last one the overcomer acts right, and so faith is an action right, and so we have to make sure to act right, to act like the Bible.

If it's in this word, right here, you may not know everything in this Bible, right, we're growing from face to face, continually learning, and you may not know everything.

But if it's in this word, I believe it.

That settles it right.

It's forever and ever, yes and amen.

Right, and so there's a certain way we act.

When the Bible, when you know, when you believe it, when you may not understand it all, but if it's in that word and Jesus spoke, it is a God breathed word, hey, it's for me, right, it's for me, amen.

And so I just wanna encourage you with that.

You have what it takes, no matter the situation you may be facing.

You have what it takes.

It's on the inside of you, it's in there, it's in there.

God didn't send his son Jesus so you can just live like whatever and be down here and not be an overcomer and live sick, depressed and full of anxiety or no, no, no.

God gave us his very best.

He gave us Jesus so we can live up here right, even when it's not perfect and it ain't gonna be perfect.

Right, god didn't promise us perfection, but he did promise us hey, if you're obedient, if you're willing and obedient, you shall eat the fruit of the lamb right.

And so, if you're willing and obedient, hey, I'm willing.

Who's willing?

Who's obedient?

Yes, we have.

You have what it takes, amen.

Amen, let's pray, and then I'll give the mic to Jay.

Father, we just thank you, lord, for your word.

I thank you, father, that we have what it takes, and I just pray, father, special prayer over everybody here tonight.

Father, I just thank you.

Whatever you know, whatever they're going through, father, whatever situation they're Jericho wall, father.

I thank you that, as they shout your praises, lord, that the Jericho walls fall down, we thank you, lord, father, for giving us your best.

You gave us Jesus Christ so we wouldn't have to live beneath.

But we are victorious, we are overcomers, we are the head and not the tail.

I thank you for the blood of Jesus and what it means and what it's done.

We are blood washed, father, and so we just thank you, lord, that we live victorious, victoriously.

We have what it takes, father.

We're not gonna go by the natural circumstances, but we're gonna go by your word only because it's your word that produces life.

In Jesus' name.

Amen, amen, hallelujah.

I hope that encouraged you.

We love you, guys.

You have what it takes.
