Please, before you see, to pick up your bibles and wave them around.
-
Make Jesus glad in the devil mad.
-
Thank you, worship team.
-
That was so awesome.
-
Glory to God, hallelujah.
-
Let's say this together Say heavenly father, I thank you for another new year.
-
I'm excited about the fact that you chose me to live now in the end days.
-
We see prophecy being fulfilled all around us and we know you're coming soon, so we're preparing for victory in Jesus day.
-
Amen, you can be seated and let's start with a series of messages.
-
Twenty twenty-four, the year of momentum, and we'll start with our acts nineteen, our cornerstone scriptures that we shared with you last week.
-
Acts nineteen I'm not going to read all the verses this time because I've got some other verses to go off of today.
-
Acts nineteen, verse eight we'll start with verse eight and he's talking about the twelve disciples and that he met in Ephesus and they found out that they were disciples of John the Baptist and they weren't saved.
-
He got him saved and filled with the Holy Ghost and that was the beginning of the church.
-
And Asia Minor Ephesus is an Asia Minor.
-
And verse eight he went into the synagogue and spake boldly for the space of three months, disputing and persuading the things concerning the kingdom of God.
-
But when diverse were hardened and believed not but spoke evil of that way, before the multitude and they see a multitude now multitude he separated from them and separated the disciples, in other words, of ones that were, that were believing, that had accepted the teaching and disputing daily in the school of one Tarenas.
-
So he went to a different place, but in the same area, and this continued by the space of two years, so that all they which dwelt in Asia heard the word of the Lord Jesus, both Jews and Gentiles, and God brought special miracles by the hands of Paul, verse, twenty so mightily grew the word of God and prevailed and prevailed.
-
And so, uh, briefly, I want to recap last week, before we move into what I have for you today, and and I've got two more Sundays after that, so we'll wind up on the twenty first will be the last Sunday, and then brother Mark and Trinna Hankins will be here on the twenty eighth.
-
And so you know, and God just you know, I just wanted to get this in you before the year got too far along.
-
Let's, let's get it all, get on the same page together.
-
But uh, before I go any further.
-
Let me just remind you that we have these messages on podcasts and I realize not everybody's got a, a smartphone.
-
So if you haven't got one, get one and quit being religious about phones.
-
You've got a flip phone.
-
Throw it away and get on smartphone.
-
Come on time to upgrade and update.
-
Sorry, I can fuss at you.
-
I'm your pastor, but I've seen people you know old Codgers, you know running around with a flip.
-
Come on, you're.
-
You're cheating yourself.
-
This is technology.
-
We have every one of these messages on a podcast.
-
What's that?
-
We ask any of our staff members after the service or call the office.
-
We will walk you through how to get your podcast moving.
-
If you've got a computer at home, you can get the podcast there, but so much more convenient to have it on your phone, because your phone you can play it in your car, unless you've got a, you know, a 1940 Cadillac or something that's got a tube radio.
-
I had a 1940 Cadillac had a tube radio.
-
So it's not Bluetooth and it doesn't, you know, doesn't talk to the internet.
-
But most modern cars are amazing, I mean they.
-
They talk to the cloud.
-
The cloud, my, my messages and every message from this pulpit, not just mine, but all of my family, everybody that preaches here.
-
Brother Mark, it will be in the cloud and it's ready to download right into your phone within hours of being preached here, so you don't ever have to, you know, be concerned if you're traveling or you have to miss a service.
-
You can always catch it on the podcast and you can hear it.
-
Praise God, all right, and then you can send it to somebody.
-
How many of you know people that ought to hear what we're saying?
-
All right?
-
So, uh, you know, here in 2024, we're entering our 30th year, and we told you last week, 30 is the number, of a Bible number.
-
It.
-
It denotes the dedication to the call.
-
Jesus was 30 when he started his ministry, john the Baptist was 30, david was 30 when he became king.
-
Uh, the priests were all 30 when they started their ministry.
-
So it's it's, it's a, it's a significant number and certainly, after 30 years, we have generated a momentum and I I got that word by going to the Galveston last week and, uh, spending time in prayer finding out what it is that I, you know, I always pray the same thing.
-
God, uh, help me, help me see what I need to see, hear what I need to hear, know what I need to know so I can do what I need to do.
-
All of those mean you have to do something.
-
We have a response.
-
God has a plan.
-
We have to, we have to hook up with it and do it.
-
And so, uh, when I got there, there was a north wind blowing not that hard 1015 miles an hour max.
-
It wasn't a gale and uh, but that surf and that ocean, that gulf was flat.
-
I mean there wasn't a wave to be seen, not one white cap.
-
It was just lapping up over into the, uh, into the beach there, just a little lap, about an inch tall, just like you would be on the corner of a pond.
-
I mean it was amazing.
-
I mean that's a huge body of water.
-
It's got wind associated with it.
-
Most of the time it's blowing out of the gulf into shore and those waves are big.
-
And I mean there wasn't a surfer inside because there wasn't nothing to surf, you know.
-
And so I mean I thought about acts nineteen that the word of God grew and mightily prevailed.
-
The north wind prevailed over those, over those waves, and it stopped them.
-
And you know, you just begin to meditate.
-
I'm in the book of Exodus.
-
I'm going to teach you how to have the Exodus today.
-
And uh, I mean you know momentum is built.
-
I mean and and so we talked about that word.
-
How did I get that word?
-
We're just meditating on past words and and what I was seeing there, I heard that word momentum.
-
I looked it up and it's defined as the force with which one body strikes another.
-
I mean we need to strike the spirit of Antichrist right now.
-
We need to knock him down.
-
We're not gonna get rid of him, we're not gonna kill him.
-
He's gonna be here when we're gone, but we need to do what Restrain him.
-
I mean it's like the North wind.
-
The other day it just put up its hand and said this far and no further to the Gulf of Mexico and it had to just stop right there at the edge.
-
I mean it's just, you know, it just really got me excited about the momentum, the force gain with which one body strikes another, the force gained by a series of events.
-
Watch the Texans last night.
-
They had you talk about momentum, the first play from scrimmage that CJ got to do.
-
He faded back through a big long pass, 75-yard touchdown, boom, just like that.
-
Seven to three and we got the momentum.
-
Now the momentum shifted all during the game.
-
It kept going.
-
I was real, real curious about the momentum because I used that last week about football and it went back and forth, and back and forth until they won.
-
Praise God, they won, they get to go to the playoffs.
-
I mean, nobody figured that they would even win four, five, maybe six games.
-
The most I heard anybody say that they would win this year's six games.
-
Now they're what?
-
10 and seven or something.
-
They had a successful season way beyond anybody.
-
They bragged on CJ and, by the way, in his press conference he said I just thought I'd start by giving all the praise and glory to my Lord and Savior, jesus Christ.
-
Will Anderson, the same, that's our two top draft picks, both of them Our head coach D'Amico.
-
Right same thing.
-
I thank God, thank Jesus Christ, my Lord and Savior, for putting me in a position to do this.
-
I'm telling these guys love God, and it's not a bunch of oporisms that I've heard in the past.
-
You know this religious baloney.
-
They don't live it.
-
I've seen this the last two or three, four years and they don't live it.
-
They talk it.
-
But these guys are genuine.
-
Oh, it's exciting.
-
I want Houston, houston's on the map.
-
Why is Houston on the map?
-
Jesus is being magnified.
-
That's why All right, I'm up there.
-
So momentum, see, unchecked, will always prevail If you don't turn the momentum off.
-
And I have to give Indianapolis credit.
-
They took the momentum back, you know, and a little at a time it was 14-3 close to the end of the first half and Houston just relaxed just a little bit and let them kick a field goal.
-
So, going into the locker room at the half, indianapolis kind of whittled away at that momentum and knocked it down a little bit.
-
Now it's 14-6 instead of 14-3.
-
And Houston gets the ball in the beginning of the third quarter.
-
The idea is now they're gonna go score and get up 21-3.
-
Now they could be up 21-6,.
-
Guess what?
-
Their momentum had shifted.
-
The other team was energized and they punted the first time and then by the time it was over 14-14, say, they caught them and they got a two-point conversion.
-
The other team did.
-
So the momentum shifted.
-
But you know, thank God, you know they didn't let that stay.
-
They kept on.
-
They had a series of events.
-
They had a series of good plays.
-
They had some bad plays, but they had more good plays and bad.
-
Are y'all getting ahold of this now, praise God.
-
Sorry, I'm talking about football.
-
Maybe you don't care a lick about it, but it illustrates my point.
-
So, and I'm reminded of Mark, chapter 4-26,.
Mark 4 chapter mention
-
Jesus said that the whole kingdom operates as if a man should sow a seed.
-
Now, nobody just sows a seed, they sow a bunch of seeds.
-
You know you're gonna plant 50 acres of corn.
-
You gotta have enough seed to plant 50 acres and when that grows up you get a little money in your pocket.
-
You might wanna plant 100 acres next time.
-
And you know I grew up in an area where they had hundreds of thousands of acres of grain and they didn't start that way.
-
They didn't start with that much.
-
They built momentum over 100 plus years that they owned that property down there between Referio and Corpus Christi.
-
When you drive down there Now they've got wind farms and they've ruined the whole landscape down there.
-
Birds piled up under the wind turbine, generators and stink, and you know I hate these.
-
Wind is never gonna replace good old fossil fuel.
-
Anyway, get off of that, all right.
-
So you know when you plant, when you.
-
It also reminds me of having a systematic discourse.
-
It's not what you say one time, it's what you keep saying over and over about your situation.
-
It's when you confess your health in the face of every symptom, when you confess that you're blessed when you've got barely enough money to make the end of the month.
-
Are you with me?
-
Now You've gotta say something, you gotta operate, you gotta believe something, but you've gotta do it over and over again, and that's called momentum, and so I left you with last week.
-
We need to be people of the prayer and the word.
-
Prayer and the word, because prayer and the word prayer is not begging God to do something about something.
-
Prayer is what do I do about this situation?
-
You're wanting God to give you a strategy.
-
You're wanting God.
-
I mean these people going around praying for God to heal the land.
-
It's just that's an Old Testament prayer, has nothing to do with our nation.
-
That's Israel.
-
It has nothing to do with that, and so it's a vain prayer.
-
You sit there and I don't know if you've been to some of these prayer meetings they have.
-
They had a lot of them back during 2020, the year and, oh God, save our land If my people call by my name second chronicles, 14, seven or whatever seven, 14, whatever it is, it's not applicable.
-
We have authority, god, when our prayer should be God.
-
What do we do?
-
And so then, when we know what we're to do, that's how this church was born.
-
It was born out of the word of God in prayer, and I found out God was ready for me to start a church.
-
My pastor had the idea that he was gonna just send me out to a church that already existed.
-
That was what his plan was.
-
Well, it wasn't God's plan.
-
I love my pastor, but he was wrong and I had to hear from God.
-
He's not God.
-
I have to hear from the Holy Ghost.
-
He loved me, he had confidence in me.
-
He meant well, but it wasn't but God's plan.
-
God's plan was for us to start this church.
-
I know what he was trying to do.
-
He was trying to save me all the trouble you have when you started church.
-
It's a lot of work.
-
You start from absolute zero.
-
When you're sitting at a stopped light, you might have 200 horsepower under the hood and your motor's running, but you're at a standstill, nothing's happening.
-
What has to happen when the light turns green?
-
Well, you gotta step on the accelerator.
-
And that 200 horsepower you don't use all 200 horsepower.
-
If you do, I mean, you're gonna be probably put in jail for drag racing.
-
But if you know, you just gently take off from the light and use some of that power.
-
And what do you do?
-
You gain momentum.
-
And then, when you get to the speed limit, what do you do?
-
Well, you feather the pressure on the accelerator off, because it doesn't take as much power to keep something moving at a set velocity as it does to take it from zero up to a speed.
-
And that's what I had to do.
-
I had to take something at zero and bring it up to this speed.
-
I'm talking about 30 years of repeated faith, actions and obedience that we've had together, not just me, but all of us.
-
Together we built a considerable momentum.
-
Let's not underestimate the kind of force that we have to impact this world and impact the spirit of antichrist.
-
Amen, are you with me now?
-
Hallelujah.
-
So, person of prayer in the Word, a person of obedience, and, of course, love has got to be the motive.
-
Love is the center of our motive.
-
No other motive will work.
-
No other motive I mean we have a motive of other thing to be seen, or to build our thing, or to be.
-
You know, whatever all that, I'm telling you, we have our agenda, not God's agenda.
-
Hey, it won't work unless the Lord builds a house.
-
They labor in vain.
-
That built it.
-
So today, let's turn over to Exodus 17.
-
I've been in Exodus and I just came across these verses, and we'll start with verse eight, exodus 17,.
-
Eight this is after the children of Israel have come out of Egypt, they've crossed the Red Sea and now they're in the wilderness.
-
In verse eight then came Amalek and fought with Israel and refudend.
-
And Moses said unto Joshua choose us out, men, and go out, fight with Amalek.
-
Tomorrow I will stand on the top of the hill with a rod of God in my hand.
-
Everybody shout rod of God.
-
So Joshua did as Moses had said to him and fought with Amalek.
-
And Moses, aaron and her went up to the top of the hill and it came to pass, when Moses held up his hand, that Israel prevailed.
-
He held up his hand with a rod in it.
-
Long as he held that hand up, what happened?
-
Israel?
-
What prevailed Prevailed.
-
What does prevail mean?
-
I looked it up the other day.
-
It means to overcome, to gain the victory, to have effect, to have power, to have influence by a series of events.
-
See, it takes.
-
You don't just start off at the red light and get to 35 miles an hour instantly.
-
I mean, you have to build up to it.
-
It takes a series of events, those little cylinders firing under your hood, series of events that your engine starts turning over and turning your wheels and getting you down to up to 35 miles an hour.
-
Praise God, all right.
-
So it said here.
-
He held up his hand and Israel prevailed.
-
And when he let down his head hand, amalek prevailed.
-
Uh-oh, so you had a shifting of momentum.
-
I mean, the rod of God was important, but when that rod, when his arm got tired, it dropped.
-
Now Amalek has got the momentum.
-
And, by the way, people are dying.
-
I mean, when the rod is up, amalek's dying.
-
See, this is the edge of the sword, they're not down there playing titly winks.
-
And when his arm got weary, well, israel is dying.
-
These are not professional soldiers, by the way.
-
They've been slaves and they're agricultural people.
-
So that's why not all of them were qualified to go down there and fight.
-
I mean, joshua knew something about those guys.
-
He knew the ones that were mean motor scooters and they could take care of themselves.
-
So he took them down there, and so, verse 12, but Moses hands were heavy and they took a stone.
-
They, who's they?
-
Well, it had to be Aaron and her and probably some other people that they recruited, see, because they had to bring a stone.
-
It's got stone big enough for Moses to sit on.
-
It's not easy for two guys to do that.
-
I mean to move one of those stones.
-
You take a big old stone.
-
I mean, let's think about a stone this tall and about that wide for Moses to sit on.
-
I mean, you're not two guys not gonna pick that up.
-
So they must have recruited some help.
-
Are y'all with me now?
-
I like to meditate on this.
-
I like to put myself there.
-
I want to see.
-
They're sitting there and they're watching this go on.
-
They're seeing him get weak and they're seeing the momentum shift and their guys are dying.
-
And they did something.
-
They didn't just sit there.
-
And so they took a stone verse 12, put it under him and he sat there on and Aaron and her stayed up, his hands the one on the one side, the other on the other side, and his hands were steady until the going down to the sun Another word, dark 30, they didn't leave.
-
Well, I'm sorry, I got it.
-
Mom's got dinner on the stove.
-
I'll see you later.
-
Hope everything turns out okay.
-
No, they stayed with it.
-
And the Lord and Joshua verse 13, discomfited Amalek and his people with the edge of the sword.
-
And the Lord said unto Moses write this for a memorial and a book and rehearse it in the ears of Joshua, for I will utterly put out the remembrance of Amalek from under heaven.
-
And Moses built an altar and called the name of it Jehovah Nisi, the Lord, our banner.
-
For he said, because the Lord had sworn that the Lord would have war with Amalek from generation to generation.
-
So now Moses and the rod of God, you know, god equipped Moses when he called him to deliver Israel.
-
And Moses felt in, you know, ill able to do that.
-
Why get somebody else?
-
I can't even talk.
-
I've been talking to these sheep for 40 years.
-
I can't.
-
He's stambered and stuttered, he's just.
-
He's used to talking to sheep, not people, and but he was very eloquent.
-
At one time he was a man of letters, he was a highly educated man and God knew that.
-
So he's trying to.
-
A lot of times people hear from God and they're trying to get somebody else to do what they're supposed to do.
-
God wouldn't have it.
-
Well, they're not going to listen to him.
-
What's that in your hand?
-
A rod.
-
Throw it down on the ground.
-
Became a serpent.
-
He ran from it.
-
Pick it up by the tail.
-
And everybody knows you don't pick a snake up by the table if you want to live.
-
He picked it up and it turned back into the rod.
-
I mean just, you know supernatural power.
-
He put your hand in your shirt and pull it out, and it's leprosy.
-
Put it back in there and pull it out.
-
It's gone.
-
You know he had some signs.
-
He used that rod to touch the rivers and turn them into blood.
-
He stretched out the rod and caused the flies to come and the you know, the locust to come.
-
And he used that rod and the verses before here in 17,.
-
They had gotten delivered from Egypt and had crossed the Red Sea on dry ground.
-
God had done mighty things in front of them.
-
But they got out there to refodem, which means no water, and they were.
-
They were mad and we're, you know, we're thirsty.
-
Where's the water?
-
Is God even here?
-
They even said.
-
They said it's God here, woo.
-
It's just amazing that God didn't smite all of them.
-
Yeah, yeah, yeah Is God here.
-
And so then Moses hadn't figured this out yet he still goes to God, you know, oh God, yeah, like a lot of immature Christians that don't know how to pray.
-
Prayin' is not gettin' God to do somethin', gettin' him in a mood to do.
-
He already did everything we need done.
-
It's about us agreeing with the word and appropriatin' it by faith.
-
You don't have to ask God to heal you, he already did it.
-
You don't have to ask God to deliver you, he already did it.
-
Say let's quit askin' for what's already been done.
-
We're gonna celebrate that in communion here a little bit.
-
So he, god, told him to get up there on Horeb and strike the rock.
-
And so he went up there and struck that rock, and water gushed out of that rock.
-
Supernatural power in the rod, and it took faith for Moses to obey and to use the rod, and he did it.
-
Think about three million people and their animals getting enough water out of a rock.
-
Can you imagine the size of the?
-
I mean, I think, I think Houston, we've got about three million people that I think the incompetent water department of the city of Houston services, I mean, I think more of it runs out on the ground, that it's actually consumed in the houses in here.
-
And then people's water bills 3,000, 4,000, and they can't figure out what's wrong with it because they've incompetent, stupid people.
-
They need to fire everybody there.
-
If you work in the water department I'm not talking about you and talking about the ones that are stupid All right, just think about that.
-
They have 36 inch water mains that are broken and spewing water all down the street.
-
36 inches of water.
-
I mean it's just so massive.
-
We don't think we think a little trickle came out of that.
-
No, it was huge, huge amount of water that's watered all of Israel because he struck it with a rock and then after that, then here he comes, amalek.
-
Who is Amalek?
-
Well, that's the son of Esau.
-
Now you know Esau and Jacob, who became Israel.
-
You know they had kind of a healing a little bit, but it wasn't very real because because all the offspring of Esau hated Israel, that's Moabites, thedemites, amonites, amalek, and Amalek was especially evil and that's why God, god knows what's in a seed.
-
This is what's wrong in the Middle East.
-
All the descendants of these people full of hate.
-
They've hated for all these 3000 years they've hated.
-
For however many years?
-
It's been a long time they've had these.
-
They're ancient hatreds.
-
Ishmael, the sons of Ishmael, hate Israel.
-
They always will.
-
There is no talking.
-
There is no.
-
What you have to do is get out in the valley with the edge of the sword and I'm talking about not a physical sword, but the word of God.
-
The word of God, I'm not talking about physical violence now, but they had that.
-
They had physical war.
-
So you know, he got used to that rod.
-
He parted the Red Sea with it and here he is, struck the rock with it and now he stretched it out over the warfare.
-
And it was not enough until he had his associated ministers get involved.
-
He needed help doing what he did.
-
He couldn't alone stretch out the rod and prevail.
-
Why?
-
Because you just got tired.
-
You can't do everything.
-
And I know pastors that try to pastor church, and here they are full-time employees of some other company and they do this on the weekends and they have to get there early.
-
They have to clean the bathroom, they have to open the church, they have to get the sanctuary ready for worship.
-
They do everything themselves.
-
And these people wonder why it doesn't last.
-
Well, it doesn't last because people break down.
-
That's why Get into position and be a help.
-
Praise God, thank God for Aaron and her.
-
If they were like a lot of church members, they would have got up on there.
-
They'd yeah, let's you know her.
-
Let's get up there.
-
Let's see what's going on down in the valley.
-
Boy, it's looking like a pretty big deal here.
-
Man, hey, you got any beach nut with you?
-
I need a chew man.
-
It's looking bad down there.
-
What do you think Her?
-
Well, I don't know.
-
I think we shouldn't have messed with these Amalek people.
-
They're mean man.
-
I think we ought to just mind our own business.
-
Let's get back down to the camp.
-
No, no, they look for a place to help Moses and they got others to help them move that big old rock.
-
It doesn't say that, but you've got to believe that.
-
I mean, there's no way they could carry that big stone for him to sit on.
-
So what I'm saying is that people got involved and I'm telling you he's God they had, they wrought a great victory Because of cooperation.
-
Israel discomfited Amalek.
-
The word discomfited means it laid them prostrate.
-
I mean that means dead, that means flat on the ground.
-
They're not standing upright any longer.
-
He discomfited Amalek with the edge of the sword, and so, thank God that the ministry got their places of service, aaron and her and others.
-
And the victory was so great that God revealed one of his covenant names.
-
Jehovah Nessie's got seven covenant names that he's revealed to Israel.
-
He revealed the first covenant name right after the Red Sea in Exodus 14.
-
I am the Lord that healeth thee, jehovah Rafa, I will not allow any of the diseases that came on Egypt to come on you.
-
He revealed himself.
-
And here's the second time.
-
I'm Jehovah Nessie, I'm the Lord.
-
Your banner.
-
It's, in other words, the victory flag.
-
Thank God for old glory.
-
I revere America's flag and when we, you know, I put my hand over my heart and I take my hat off, or whatever, and I, I sing the national anthem, but really and truly, as a Christian, I've got the flag of heaven.
-
I represent the flag of heaven.
-
And guess what?
-
My name's not on it.
-
Your name's not on it.
-
You know, moses name was not on the flag, it was God.
-
God got all the glory for that victory.
-
He got all the glory for.
-
He got all the glory for the victory.
-
Are y'all with me now?
-
Hallelujah.
-
Thank you, jesus.
-
Come on, let's just lift our hands, father.
-
We thank you.
-
You've got a plan for victory, hallelujah.
-
I know it's looking bleak out there, but the bleaker it looks the more light there is to shine.
-
So Moses held up his hand.
-
Now verse 11, let's look at verse 11, 17, 11.
-
I want you to see this real important.
-
It says it came to pass when Moses held up his hand that Israel prevailed.
-
Now notice when it says, if you've got a study Bible, which I do and it came to pass when Moses it's got a little L held up his hand.
-
The little L out in the margin has reference to James 516.
-
The effectual, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.
-
So it's connected to Moses stretching out the rod.
-
It's connected to prayer.
-
It's connected to the effectual, fervent prayer of a righteous avails much.
-
Or, in the amplified, the earnest, heartfelt, continued prayer of the righteous man or woman makes tremendous power available, dynamic in its working Glory to God.
-
See, I've never seen that before.
-
Just studying this, meditating on this, I had never seen the connection between the two verses, but it's indicative.
-
See, everything in the Old Testament is written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the age have come.
-
They are the shadow.
-
We have the substance.
-
They are the type and shadow.
-
I'm sitting standing up here and I can see my shadows right, kind of faint right there.
-
Well, as the shadow me will know, it's just a two-dimensional representation of me.
-
So when you read the Old Testament, you need to read it with New Testament eyes.
-
That's not the complete picture.
-
What we have is the fulfillment of what they were looking forward to and never got.
-
They never got what we have, what we have.
-
Oh, that's why we're going to have communion.
-
We're going to celebrate what we've got.
-
We have a better covenant than Moses, bound upon better promises.
-
So we have to continue in prayer, personally and corporately.
-
I just think about.
-
This church is what it is because of our corporate prayer and the members.
-
You have a prayer life, so many of you do.
-
We have prayer warriors in this church.
-
We have prayer and you know we have in 2024, we'd make New Year's resolutions and stuff and that's fine and dandy, but really I say these things because the Spirit of God wants us to be on the same page.
-
He wants to awaken us to our need to have our own prayer life.
-
There's nothing gonna ever gain momentum in your life without your prayer life.
-
And again, prayer is not begging God to do something.
-
Prayer is not giving him a laundry list of your requests.
-
It's really just communicating with him, mainly thanking him, mainly worshiping him and praising him.
-
And yes, I pray this little prayer, I prayed it.
-
Lord, help me to see what I need to see, hear what I need to hear, know what I need to know so I can do what I need to do.
-
That's a simple little prayer you can pray.
-
You're gonna pray that a lot and I'm not saying God's gonna appear to you.
-
He's not gonna necessarily.
-
You're not gonna necessarily have a big visitation.
-
A lot of people are looking for fireworks and all kinds of glory clouds and goosebumps.
-
No, I'm telling you, god just will make you aware, he will give you a knowing in your spirit and if you pray much in other tongues, your brain is gonna finally know what your spirit already knew.
-
So prayer, prayer is so important, especially praying in the spirit.
-
You will never gain momentum, just kind of going through, you know, just knocking around, just going with a flow, doing what everybody tells you to do, going where everybody tells you to go.
-
You know all of that stuff, all the do good, there's a lot of do gooders.
-
You can get involved with a lot of doing good, and it's just good.
-
It's not the thing that God wants you involved with, are y'all women now?
-
So we receive our part of being the solution.
-
What solution?
-
Well, the antichrises at work.
-
Have you seen it?
-
Have you noticed?
-
I mean, it is just vicious.
-
And you know, president Biden gets up and just lies out of his mind, just tells a ball face lie.
-
He said January 6th, oh, we went to some funerals of some of the cops that died January 6th.
-
No cop died on January 6th.
-
Like Biden, you're a liar.
-
You're not president anyway, you're just a placeholder.
-
Come on, yeah.
-
And the news media?
-
Let him get by.
-
Words of fact checkers hey, I don't care, that fits with their, with their agenda.
-
So what is that?
-
The spirit of antichrist?
-
Why do you care that?
-
Because I hate the spirit of antichrist, I'm allowed to hate evil.
-
I'm allowed to hate words.
-
I'm allowed to hate lies.
-
I didn't say I hate liars because then that would go against the Bible.
-
I can't hate him, but I can despise what he is doing and he lies continually.
-
He's a criminal as far as I'm concerned.
-
He's got Neil Gottengains from China, ukraine, name it, name it, name all the nations.
-
For 50 years the guy's been on the take and we've known that forever.
-
We've known that forever.
-
And why did anybody vote for him?
-
Because they don't know what the truth is.
-
There's no truth out there except we're right here.
-
That's why we have to say what we say amen.
-
So we receive our part of being the solution to restrain the spirit of antichrist.
-
That's our part, especially now, because we're right close to the end.
-
We're right close to the coming of the Lord and I want to be found doing what he called me to do.
-
See again, 30th year reverence and respect for the call.
-
We all have that call or we wouldn't be living right now.
-
Some of you are kind of what?
-
Yeah, you were chosen to live right now.
-
You could have lived at any time.
-
But right now is the time when things are heating up, the culmination.
-
I like what Charles Capps called it the compression of the age.
-
The compression of the age.
-
If you find an hourglass and you've got the sand of the hourglass, you turn it over and the sand is up here and it's gonna flow down there.
-
So the sand you look at it, you can't only see it falling.
-
I mean, you see a little trickle of sand coming down through the neck.
-
The neck is small like that.
-
It's dripping down the bottom and you can see the sand kind of piled up the surface up here.
-
You can't really see it moving, moving it barely.
-
If you come back in 10 minutes, well, you can see that it's come down a little bit.
-
But then finally, if it's an hourglass, one hour worth of sand, then in the last 10 minutes you can begin to see that thing because it's getting down close to the neck and it's the compression of the ages.
-
Things are moving faster to get through this place, this intersection right here, this is where we're at right now.
-
I said this is where we're at.
-
We're living in the compression of the ages.
-
Things are happening fast.
-
We don't have time to put God off.
-
We don't have time to say God, maybe next year.
-
It's not a good time for me now.
-
No, I mean, let's get in prayer, let's get into the Word, let's find out what our place is and let's get there, amen.
-
And so then the second thing is that once we know, we have to obey.
-
That's the bottom line.
-
We said that last week, but it bears repeating.
-
Let's look at 1 Corinthians 15.
-
Are you getting anything out of this?
-
I mean, you know, because of the compression of the ages and things that are happening so fast, god doesn't have time for you to be sick.
-
He wants you well.
-
He doesn't have time for you to be broke and have to grope around trying to find enough money to get a car to function in.
-
He wants you blessed.
-
1 Corinthians 15, 58.
-
Therefore, so what is it therefore?
-
So, when you see the word therefore, what's it there for?
-
When you back up the previous few verses, verse 51, behold, I show you a mystery.
-
We shall all sleep, but we shall all be changed in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump, for the dead shall be raised in corruptum.
-
We shall all be changed.
-
So it's talking about the resurrection of the dead.
-
It's talking about the rapture there in 1 Corinthians 15.
-
He's talking about what it's gonna be like.
-
That's where we are.
-
We're pretty close.
-
I'm not prophesying a date, but I mean we're in that season.
-
He could come.
-
We're gonna hear the trumpet sound, we're gonna hear the shout of the archangel and Jesus is gonna snatch us off the face of the planet.
-
We're gonna be gone.
-
But before that happens, verse 58,.
-
Therefore, because that's true.
-
Therefore, my beloved brethren, see, that's the church.
-
Be ye steadfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, for as much as you know that your labor is not in vain in the Lord, since the Lord told me to wake up the church in March of 1999, there have been times when I thought, man, this is just almost a waste of time.
-
I can't tell anything has happened.
-
I can't tell that anything has changed.
-
In fact, if anything has gotten worse, I mean I thought I had guys that I knew, that I thought I knew, and then they just quit preaching word of faith.
-
They got seeker, sensitive, they started building their kingdoms.
-
Some of them just fell off into sin and just were disgraced and God had to just move them to the side.
-
I mean, you look around, but you know what we are moving.
-
We have such momentum right now.
-
There are things that are unprecedented that this church is gonna be involved with in 2024.
-
And the church is waking up.
-
I'm here to tell you a church is waking up.
-
So we have to be steadfast, unmovable, always abounding, always looking for where we can be a blessing, loves the motive, and the last part is just being humble.
-
We don't have our name on it.
-
Our name's not anywhere on the flag.
-
This is all about Jesus.
-
This is all about Him.
-
He gets all the glory, he gets all the praise for all the good things that are happening.
-
Yeah, we can say, yeah, we obeyed.
-
Yeah, we can have a report, we can have a testimony where we obeyed, but it's not the same as taking credit.
-
No, no, all the glory goes to Him.
-
Praise God, 2024, the year of momentum.
-
Come on, lift your hands and receive.
-
Praise God, glory to God, hallelujah, hallelujah.
