Praise God, let's lift our Bibles up.
-
Is this our custom?
-
Wave them around, make Jesus glad and the devil mad.
-
Let's say this together Say Heavenly Father, I've been looking forward to Wednesday night.
-
I'm hungry for the Word.
-
I determine to not just be a hearer of the Word, but a doer as well.
-
Thank you, holy Spirit, for implanting this word deep in my heart, so that I can bear fruit in Jesus' name.
-
Amen, praise God.
-
Let's turn in our Bibles to Acts, the third chapter, and we'll read from verse one.
-
Now, peter and John went up together into the temple at the hour of prayer, being the ninth hour, and a certain man, lame from his mother's womb, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple, which is called Beautiful, to ask alms of them, which entered into the temple who, seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple, ask an alms, and Peter, fastening his eyes upon him with John, said look on us.
-
And he gave heed unto them, expecting to receive something of them.
-
Then Peter said silver and gold have I?
-
None, but such as I have, give I thee.
-
Let's just say that last part together Such as I have, give I thee.
-
In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk.
-
And he took him by the right hand and lifted him up and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength and he, leaping up, stood and walked and entered with him into the temple, walking and leaping and praising God.
-
And then, in chapter 4, verse 13, the temple rulers got together and it said verse 13 now, when they saw the boldness of Peter and John and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marveled and they took knowledge of them that they had been with Jesus.
-
Indeed, a notable miracle hath been done by them, is manifest to all them that dwell in Jerusalem and we cannot deny it.
-
So, such as I have, give I thee there in verse 6.
-
So I just have a simple message to encourage you tonight Give what you got, give what you got.
-
You know, peter and John, the world said they were unlearned and ignorant men.
-
You know they lacked a doctor of divinity degree, they hadn't been to seminary, they hadn't been to Bible school, they were not on the short list of anybody's pulpit committee.
-
You know, no predigree, no, not much of a resume.
-
Yet Even the critics had to admit that they'd been with Jesus.
-
That makes a big difference and they had to admit that a notable miracle occurred.
-
You know, a notable miracle is widely known and cannot be denied.
-
Widely known, I mean everybody knew about this man.
-
He was above 40 years of age, you know, you think about in Israel.
-
You kind of came of age at age 20.
-
So if he was 20 when he started laying out there, you know, laying from his mother's womb, so let's just say he's 20 and he's 40 now, that's 20 years of laying in that place.
-
I mean, everybody knew him, jesus knew him, jesus walked right past him, no telling how many times, you know.
-
And so just what an amazing miracle this was.
-
You know God has a track record.
-
When you read your Bible, you just up, you know themes and uh, first corinthians 127, god uses the foolish things to confound the wise, the weak things to confound the mighty.
-
You know he takes little.
-
He has a track record of taking little and turning it into much.
-
I think about the widow at zarephath.
-
I mean you know she was had her last meal and God multiplied that to feed not only her and her son, uh, but the prophet too, all for a whole year.
-
And uh, the woman with the jars you know she was at her wit's end and the creditors were going to come take her sons, and once they did that, her being a widow, she wouldn't have any income.
-
Come take her sons, and once they did that, her being a widow, she wouldn't have any income.
-
You had no way to make it.
-
But all she had in the house was just a little jar of oil, and God multiplied that jar of oil where she could sell excess and pay all of her debts and have enough to live on.
-
I think about the five loaves that fed 20,000 people.
-
The seven loaves fed 16,000 people.
-
I mean, god takes little and does much with it.
-
In a Cana, in the Bible, in the wedding feast of Cana, jesus turned the water into wine and the governor of the feast came and said hey, you know, most people bring the good stuff out first and then save the bad stuff for last, but you've saved the best for last.
-
You know he saved the best for last.
-
God knows how to.
-
I believe this generation is going to see greater miracles than anybody on the face of the planet ever has seen.
-
We're living right in the cusp of the greatest time, and so, you know, let's give what we got, praise God.
-
Let's not hold back just because we don't feel qualified.
-
I mean, you know, it's not about feeling qualified, it's about trusting what the Bible says and you know God has a track record also of using unlikely vessels.
-
You know, I was reading here not long ago 2 Kings 5, about Naaman.
-
You know who was the chief of staff of the army?
-
I mean, he was a captain of the host of the Syrian army, very important man.
-
He was a warrior, a trained military man, but he had leprosy and he had a little Jewish maid.
-
You see, Israel had been conquered by Syria and taken away and so they were taken in as made into slaves.
-
And this little Jewish maid in Naaman's house, she was waiting on Naaman's wife and she heard about Naaman having leprosy.
-
He said, oh would to God that she could be around Elisha the prophet, he would recover him of his leprosy.
-
And those words I mean they went right up to the king and the king of Syria sent to the king of Israel and said, hey, what about this, what about this?
-
And we know the story.
-
I mean, naaman got healed and so God used this little Jewish maid.
-
Who would have ever thought anybody would pay any attention to her, but God got in her voice.
-
God got in her testimony.
-
I mean, god used ravens to feed the prophet and you know he used a donkey.
-
He used a donkey to rebuke Balaam.
-
I think he can use me to speak his word, amen.
-
I think about the woman at the well who was a Samaritan and she, you know, she was not really exactly living right.
-
She talked about her, you know she had four husbands and the man she was living with then was not her husband, you know, and she you know.
-
So she wasn't living right.
-
She wasn't a person, you know, that was very qualified.
-
And yet she went back to her hometown and said hey, come see a man who told me all things ever I have done.
-
Surely he's the Christ.
-
So she got to preach, she preached in her hometown, in Samaria, and so forth.
-
I mean we could go on and on.
-
I just talked about the demoniac past Sunday night.
-
I mean he had a legion of demons in him.
-
The last picture we have of him is he was clothed and healed and sitting at the feet of Jesus in his right mind.
-
And Jesus said go home and to Decapolis, the 10 cities, and tell them what great things the Lord has done for you and has had compassion on you.
-
I mean God used this man.
-
So, and I just think about my pastor, john Osteen.
-
I mean, just, you know, just a small, diminutive person, you know from humble beginnings.
-
And I mean he, you know just a small, diminutive person, you know from humble beginnings, and I mean he reached the world, same with Kenneth Hagin, same with Oral Roberts.
-
I mean we think about all Same with me.
-
I mean you know who was I?
-
And now God is 30th year in Glorious Way Church.
-
It's just, I'm amazed every time I think about it.
-
I woke up this morning just rejoicing over all the beautiful things that he's done in our life, in our church, in our ministry.
-
It's a wonderful thing what God has done.
-
So, such as you have, you should give, you ought to give it away, give what you got.
-
And so just a simple thing Always remember what you have is enough, what you have is enough, what you have is enough.
-
Put it in Jesus' hands and he'll make it go far.
-
He'll make it, he'll multiply it, it'll go a long way.
-
So I just wanted to talk about the things that we do have, and we all have these things.
-
I mean there's no big I's and little U's.
-
Everybody watching has the same thing.
-
We all have the three things that I'm going to talk about.
-
We have the word of God, we have the Holy Spirit and we have the name of Jesus.
-
And you know when you begin to speak those things and you demonstrate those things.
-
And what I'm talking about tonight really is the believer's ministry.
-
I've had you know, sometimes I'll tell my testimony of healing miracles that I've seen.
-
I've seen some wonderful things happen and I had some people several times say well, pastor, that's because you were a minister, that's because you were a pastor.
-
No, that's because I was a believer.
-
And a lot of these miracles happened when I was just a businessman and a lay preacher, and some of them were even before I was ever ordained officially.
-
So it's really the believers ministry that I want to stir you up in tonight, because we are living in those days when the church is going to shine and he's going to use believers like you and I to do great things.
-
So what do you have?
-
Well, let's go down the list.
-
Number one you've got the Word of God.
-
I just think about the price it was paid by Jewish people for us to have this Word.
-
The way we have it.
-
We have it in a Bible, and now we have it on our cell phones, now we have it on our laptops.
-
We have it and we have all these different translations and just a little package.
-
We don't even have to buy a whole bunch of Bibles.
-
I mean, all we have to do is open our phone and there it is.
-
We've got the Passion, translation Amplified, and the NLT and the King James, and on and on and on.
-
We've got the Word of God and we've got it in our hearts.
-
And God said to us go.
-
Oh, pastor, I'm not an evangelist.
-
Well, I'm not an evangelist either, but I went before I became a quote unquote minister.
-
I went as a believer.
-
That command is to the believers, not just to the apostles.
-
Go, he said, and make disciples of all nations.
-
He said.
-
Go, occupy till I come.
-
He said, these signs shall follow them, that believe.
-
See, that's not just the ministry, that's the believer.
-
You know, I was meditating on these signs shall follow them, that believe.
-
And I thought about Peter and John going to the temple at the hour of prayer and this man at the gate beautiful, it doesn't say one word about him having any faith.
-
It doesn't say one word that he in fact what he was expecting was alms.
-
He was expecting some money, because that's what he's there for.
-
He's there to beg.
-
He's a certified beggar and you could give alms to him and you could fulfill that portion of your obligation, your temple obligation, because all Jews had to give alms.
-
And so when you gave to him, you satisfied that obligation.
-
So he was registered with a temple, they knew, and he had their permission to be there and that's what he was expecting.
-
He was not asking for healing.
-
He never thought anything about healing.
-
And so when I see here about Peter is preaching after he gets healed and goes into the temple and all that group is amazed out there, and he said in verse 16 of chapter 3 and his name, talking about the 16 of chapter 3 and his name, talking about the name of Jesus and his name, through faith in his name, hath made this man strong whom you see and know.
-
Yea, the faith which is by him has given this man perfect soundness in the presence of you all.
-
So what faith is he talking about?
-
Is he talking about this man's faith?
-
No, he didn't have any faith that I know of.
-
It's not say there's no evidence that he had any faith whatsoever.
-
In fact, peter had to jerk him up by the hand.
-
He didn't even have enough faith to try to stand up.
-
Peter picked him up by the hand, jerked him up off the ground and then, when he did that, his feet and ankle bones received strength.
-
So all the faith came from the word of God and the Holy Ghost and the name of Jesus that was inside Peter and John.
-
Oh, I tell you, it's such a powerful thing.
-
Listen, I believe in preaching and teaching.
-
I believe in trying to get people to believe.
-
I think that's the best success.
-
But when you think about what's available to the believer, it says these signs shall follow them that believe, not just them that are preachers, not just them that are evangelists or whatever.
-
It's the believer's ministry.
-
I want to stir you up in that.
-
You know God said go into all the world.
-
You know they take a little bumblebee.
-
I've read where scientists have examined the bumblebee and it determined that it can't fly.
-
You know, its body weight is too big, it's not streamlined enough, the wings are too flimsy, they're not strong enough to support its weight, and so, scientifically, bumblebees can't fly.
-
But God looked at the bumblebee one day and he said fly.
-
And it's been flying ever since.
-
And he looked at us and he said go.
-
And you know we can go with signs following because we've got that word.
-
We just dare to obey the word.
-
Go into our world.
-
That's where I went when I first got saved.
-
I went into my world and I went with boldness.
-
I tell you, I didn't care what people thought of me, it wasn't about that, it was about obedience to God's Word.
-
So what do you have?
-
You have got the Word of God.
-
We've all got the Word.
-
Thank God for it.
-
We've all got number two the Holy Spirit.
-
As soon as you got saved, you got the Holy Spirit, and then you should have been filled with the Holy Ghost.
-
You should receive the baptism of the Holy Ghost with evidence of speaking in other tongues.
-
You know, we had a lady that had just started coming to church and, you know, nobody even prayed for her.
-
She was just in the sanctuary during my preaching and she said I wanted to speak and something started bubbling up out of my mouth and she didn't know what had happened.
-
But god, she got baptized in the holy ghost while I was preaching and when I found out about it, she's one of our new members I said when I found out about it.
-
I said well, you know, you're just scriptural.
-
That's what happened in cornelius's ass while he yet speak spake.
-
The holy ghost fell on them which heard the word.
-
And so, uh, you, you know the greater one.
-
1 John 4, for the greater one lives in you.
-
Greater is he that's in you than he that's in the world.
-
That gives you boldness.
-
You know it's an odd, but what if nothing happens?
-
Well, what if something does happen?
-
I mean, you'll never know if you don't reach out there and do the believer's ministry.
-
Lay your hands on sick people, these signs shall follow them.
-
That believe in my name, they shall in my name.
-
See, you're not doing your name, you're doing it in his name and you're doing it because you have a Holy Ghost living on the inside.
-
The Holy Ghost will put you over.
-
Hallelujah First, john 2, 27,.
-
But the anointing which you have received abideth in, you See, you've got the anointing which you have received abideth in, you See, you've got the anointing.
-
You're anointed to pray for the sick.
-
You're anointed to cast out devils.
-
And I'm not talking about, like you know, exorcism, I'm just talking about authority over demon powers.
-
That's really what the import of that is.
-
It's not so much casting devils out of people although that's included but it's really clearing the way for you to do what God has called you to do.
-
And we have to take our place of authority every day in prayer.
-
And you know, whatever we bind on earth is bound in the heavens.
-
Whatever we loose on earth is loosed in the heavenlies.
-
You know, we have a lot of things happening in our nation because the church has allowed it to happen.
-
We have not forbidden it.
-
Well, that's changing.
-
Yeah, we're bold about what we want to let happen and what we don't want to happen.
-
And I'm saying, in Jesus name, these college campuses, we're going to take these college campuses back away from all these radical, crazy people that are just bent on destruction, anti-semitism.
-
I was reading an article today.
-
You know, the Nazis they started with the Jews, but they didn't stop with the Jews.
-
They went through all of the other minority people.
-
They started with Jews, but they didn't stop with them.
-
They just kept on going.
-
They started, they started killing people that were mentally ill.
-
They started killing people that were, that were crippled.
-
They started I mean, listen, they didn't stop with just Jewish people.
-
And so that's the thing about this spirit.
-
This spirit is the same spirit that Hitler had, and we're not going to allow it in this country.
-
This is a Christian nation.
-
So I'm just put it out there, in Jesus name, let's, let's go and let's do the works of Jesus, amen.
-
So we've all got the word of God, we've all got the Holy Ghost, the greater one.
-
He's helping you, he's guiding you, he's empowering you.
-
I advise you.
-
Every morning you say, lord, just lead me into the ripe harvest.
-
There's somebody in my pathway today that needs what I've got, such as I have.
-
Give I thee.
-
I'm going to give what I got, lord, I'm going to give what I got.
-
When you do that, god will take it and multiply it and make it effective.
-
And, of course, the name of Jesus.
-
No one else has got the right to use the name of Jesus except the church.
-
No one.
-
You know they use the name of Jesus as a curse word.
-
I hear people use his name in vain and all of that.
-
But I'm talking about listen.
-
We have the name of Jesus.
-
There's none other name given among men whereby men can be saved, healed, delivered, set free.
-
You know, peter told that group of Jews when they witnessed this lame man walk, he said you know, it's that name, through faith in that name, that makes this that name, praise God.
-
So it's exclusively for our use, exclusively.
-
We have the absolute power of attorney to use the family name and that's our new family name.
-
When we got saved, we were named with that name, we were baptized into him, into Christ, and so that's our family name and every knee must bow at that name.
-
So give what you got.
-
So you think about that.
-
Give what you got.
-
What have you got?
-
You've got the word of God, the Holy ghost, the name of Jesus.
-
Give what you got and watch God multiply it.
-
Amen, come on, lift your hands and receive.
-
Praise God, short and sweet, but powerful.
-
And I just want to stir you up.
-
I spent a lot of time thinking about my pathway and how I got to where I am today, and these are these principles, these simple things that I learned early on, that I've never stopped doing, and I just want to encourage everyone under the sound of my voice let's stir ourselves up to be available, let's be bold, bold, to take this wonderful word of God, the Holy Ghost, the name of Jesus, out into our world.
-
Amen, glory to God.
-
Hallelujah, I just believe in for a great revival.
-
We're just right on the edge.
