Consider Jesus 2

Let's wave our Bibles around, make Jesus glad, the devil mad.

Say this together.

Say, heavenly Father, it's Family Sunday, my family.

I'm so glad they're serving God, me and my house.

We will serve the Lord and I'm in the family of God.

This family is a mighty family.

It's blessed because of the blood of Jesus.

I'm looking into the word today.

Holy Spirit, shine your light on it so that my faith will grow and I will accomplish those things you have for me In Jesus' name.

Amen, amen.

Let's be seated, turning our Bibles to Hebrews, the third chapter, and we're also going to read Hebrews 12, the 12th chapter as well.

And I'm the second message on.

Consider Jesus started last week, hebrews 3.1.

I like how Paul I believe Paul wrote the book of Hebrews.

It doesn't say he did, but I believe he did.

And I like the way he addresses the Hebrews.

Wherefore, holy brethren, everybody say I'm one of the holy brethren.

You know, holy just means set apart.

Holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling.

Consider, everybody shout.

Consider.

Consider the apostle and high priest of our profession.

Or the word profession can mean confession, same word, same Greek word our profession, christ Jesus.

Consider Christ Jesus, who was faithful to him.

That appointed him, as also Moses was faithful in all his house, for this man talking about Jesus was counted worthy of more glory than Moses in as much as he who has built the house hath more honor than the house.

And then Hebrews 12, chapter one 1, or verse 1 rather, wherefore seeing, we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses.

Let us See that's on us.

See, we've got something to do.

Let us lay aside every weight and the sin.

See, weights and sin are different.

Weights are things that we get involved with that really aren't the best.

They might not be bad, but they're not the best.

Good sometimes is the enemy of the best.

Let's get our lives prioritized to where we have the best at the top of the list instead of good.

Amen.

So let's lay aside every weight and the sin which does so easily beset us and run with patience the race that is set before us, not the race that's set before somebody else.

The race that's set before you.

You've got a race.

You either can run it or not.

I watched the men's 400-yard relay Americans and they were just terrible.

I mean, I never saw anything like it.

They couldn't do a handoff.

It looked like they'd never done a relay before.

Here they are in the Olympics.

They look like a bunch of buffoons.

I mean, there's so many things that are broken all across the board.

It's just like the excellence is gone and the ones that are excellent, or know they are, and they act like they are and they're just so puffed up with them.

So, anyway, I'm off the set.

Come on, let's let's walk with humility.

I mean, if we've got something that we can do, it's because God enabled us.

Let's give him all the glory.

We did have a few Olympic people.

Give God the glory.

That's good.

So, looking unto Jesus, as run with patience the race set before us.

Looking unto Jesus, looking means take your eyes off of one thing and fast in it on another.

It's very similar to consider Looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who, for the joy that was set before him, endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

For consider him, see that word again.

Consider who, jesus that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself.

Lest you be wearied and faint in your minds.

You know, when you get your eyes off of Jesus you're going to faint, and you always faint first in your thinking.

So we're talking about consider Jesus, and it's an important message in these days to consider means to fix one's eyes and mind on.

Your five senses are being just overloaded with demonic demonstrations.

Last week I called those things dumpster fires.

It's just kind of a modern example.

A dumpster fire.

I mean, you know the devil is good, the Democrats are good at setting dumpster fires.

We get you know the devil is good, the Democrats are good at setting dumpster fires.

We get our eyes over here looking at all this while they're over here stealing us blind and doing all kinds of crazy things and issuing executive orders.

That's destroying our country.

They're talking about the theft of democracy.

They're doing it every day that they're in office.

So it's time to change that Amen.

Time to church.

Rise up and do something.

Quit asking God to do something.

He put us here.

He put us here to do it, amen.

So our five senses are overloaded with demonic demonstrations, lies, deception, fear, violence, fake news, all a manner of incompetence, violence, fake news, all a manner of incompetence.

And we have to consider Jesus, fix our eyes and mind on him.

He is the apostle and high priest of our profession or our confession.

The word high priest.

There is a little strange to you know, 21st century Christians, we didn't grow up most of us didn't anyway, most of us didn't grow up in Judaism, where they had and even modern Judaism they don't really have a high priest, they don't do animal sacrifices anymore.

But when they did, they had a high priest.

And what does the high priest do?

He ministers, executes, implements and carries into effect and in this case, our confession, what we say about things.

He gives us what to say, he administers it.

I like what Brother Mark says.

You know, this word was spoken so it could be written, and holy men of God wrote it down under the inspiration of the Holy Ghost.

So it was spoken so it could be written.

So it was spoken so it could be written, and it was then written so we could speak it.

So he administers.

He administers this word for us to speak.

He can administer to it in your spirit.

When you read your Bible every day and then you read it as logos and you're just reading along, reading chapter after chapter.

If you do things like I suggest, 10 chapters a day, oh, it's a lot.

Well, how much trouble are you in, how much trouble is all around you?

I mean, you know, again, it's just a prioritization.

You've got to prioritize what's important.

When you read the Bible, you store it up like a battery.

You store the logos up, and then when you're under pressure, when things on a dumpster fire hits you in the face, then you're not going to have to go to your Bible and start trying to go where is it?

No, it'll be in here.

And then you're going to speak it.

He administered it.

And once you speak it, then what does he do?

Well, he, then he, he goes about and, uh, executes it.

See, we do the believing, he does the, he does the performing.

We don't have to perform.

He does it and he implements it and then he carries it into effect.

See, sometimes it's just, it's more than one thing.

It takes a while to get something in the system.

It takes a while for it to become systemic.

You know what I mean by systemic?

See, cancer's like that.

Let's use the negative.

You know, you've got a cancerous tumor.

It's sitting there, you want to get rid of it.

But if you don't do anything, a lot of times it starts to spread and it starts to go to here and starts to go there and pretty soon cancer is systemic in your body and you die because your whole body shuts down.

It's overwhelmed by these abnormal cells.

So the challenge for us is to identify there's something wrong and target our faith at it.

Let's not wait forever, amen.

Let's make sure we, you know, are sensitive about symptoms and don't let them go.

Same thing with heart trouble.

I've seen people ignore symptoms and I was one of those.

I ignored symptoms in my body until I had a heart attack and until I had a field and I mean it almost sent me to heaven.

Thank God I finally woke up, right in the nick of time, but I didn't have to go that far if I had been a little bit more proactive.

Are y'all getting this now Systemic?

So that's what Jesus does with the Word.

He sends it through and it just becomes systemic through your entire life.

It's working on a multitude of fronts.

Oh, come on, lift your hands right now, glory to God.

Oh, come on, lift your hands right now, glory to God.

We think well, all I could do was pray.

All you could do was pray.

That was the best thing you could do.

You go to the doctor, but they don't heal nobody.

It's Jesus is the healer.

They can treat you, they can, they can get your body in a place where it'll do what it's designed to do.

But but I'm telling you, to telling you, the healing is supernatural.

It's all about your spirit.

Healing is all spiritual.

So he is the apostle and high priest of what we say about things.

You know it's easy to waver Hebrews 10, 23,.

You know he said you don't need to waver in your confession.

Don't waver, don't go back and forth.

I mean when you've got a confession that he's watching over to implement it and carry it into effect.

He's administered it to you.

Keep on saying it, keep on speaking it.

Amen.

And so we talked about last week.

Consider the Word Jesus and his Word are one.

Jesus is the Word.

John, chapter 1, the.

Consider the word Jesus and his word are one.

Jesus is the word, john, chapter one.

The beginning was the word.

The word was with God and the word was God In verse 14, and word became flesh and dwelt among us.

So consider the word.

When you consider the word, you're considering Jesus.

Yes, jesus is a person.

He's seated at the right hand of the father.

I consider him.

I think about him being up there.

He's the head of the body.

I think about that.

But Jesus, the Word.

Let's consider what the Word says.

The first thing you say when something comes against you is what does the Word say?

And then you and he'll administer the Word.

You need to say Amen.

And so I gave you my testimony about building this, building this phase two, and we were faced with all kinds of higher costs and higher interest rates.

And and I mean it was just you know I began to hesitate.

The lender was putting pressure.

Hey, pastor, we can't hold this loan forever.

You're going to have to sign the papers.

I said, well, I need a little bit more time.

Well, you know how long I mean.

We, we've got people this loan forever, you're going to have to sign the papers.

I said, well, I need a little bit more time.

Well, you know how long I mean.

We've got people wanting to borrow.

We can't hold it in reserve.

We're going to borrow quite a bit of money, a couple of million dollars, to do phase two.

And so we but I was counting things.

The Bible says count the cost to make sure you can finish the project.

Jesus said that.

So that's what I brought to the Lord.

I said I'm counting the cost, lord, and the cost looked really high.

The interest rates are high.

It doesn't look like a lot of favor in this thing.

It looks like I'm kind of making it happen.

And you know what?

He came right back to me in my spirit.

He says it's time to count the cost of doing nothing.

And so by that I knew that if we did nothing there was going to be a price to pay for that.

And if I hadn't had that word, I would have had a multitude of times in the ensuing six years to have doubted that decision.

I mean, it would have opened the door to doubt.

And doubt and fear and unbelief will rob you of God's best.

You need a stable foundation for your faith to rest on, amen, amen.

And then we talked about consider the Holy Ghost.

And we've been teaching you on being led by the Spirit and following the Holy Ghost.

And you know, sometimes when you walk out on the water and the wind is whipping around and the waves are hitting you, jesus didn't say if the storms of life come.

He said when they come, and they always come.

You're either in one, or you're about to go into one, or you're about to come out of one.

I mean, that's just life in the 21st century.

Jesus is coming soon and the storms are whipping up.

So think it not strange concerning the fiery trial that is to try you as some strange thing?

But remember, you got the Holy Ghost.

The greater is he that's in you than he that's in the world.

First, john 4, 4.

He is with you, he's saying it, he is with you, he is for you, he is going to put you over, no matter what you face.

Don't forget.

See, sometimes we feel so alone, we feel so down, we feel so, oh, I'm the own.

No, a Holy ghost is with you and he's for you and he's putting you over.

So consider the Holy ghost.

And then we talked about some things.

Consider, not Abraham had to consider, not something, he had to consider, not the circumstances.

You know, god said I have named you Abraham, I have made you, I have made you Past tense.

When did God tell him that?

When he was 99 years old and Sarah was 90.

He's passed the ability and age to father a child.

She's passed the ability to have a child, to conceive a child in her womb because she's passed childbearing age.

As a matter of fact, she never had the ability when she was young enough to have a child.

She couldn't, and for whatever reason.

So I say she's double dead.

The Bible says that Abraham considered not his own body now dead, neither the deadness of Sarah's womb.

I call it double dead.

He didn't consider that but, being fully persuaded that God was able to perform that which he had promised, he called the thing that be not as though it were.

He actually said okay, I am Abraham, that's my new name, I'm the father of many nations.

And he started saying that when he's dead and she's dead, she's double dead.

I mean, you know, sometimes it just feels like you're lying.

No, you're calling the things that be not as though they were.

When pain is raging in your body, you say I'm well, how are you doing?

No, you say I'm well, thank you.

You may feel like you're at death's door.

You may have pain, you may be sneezing, you may be coughing.

I'm telling you, it's not a lie.

You're calling the thing that be not.

You're considering not your body, you're considering not the circumstances.

You're in faith.

That's what faith does, that's what God.

Does you know, when God created the world, he didn't come down here and say man, it's dark down there.

Wow, look at this place, it's desolate.

He took a look around and said light, be.

You know.

They studied the bumblebee and scientists have decided that bumblebees can't fly because aerodynamically they can't fly.

Their body weight is too heavy for their flimsy little tiny wings and their wings don't beat fast enough.

But how many of you discover that bumblebees fly?

Why do they fly?

Because God, when he created me, he says and that's all it took, he just spoke it.

And that's what we.

We're made in his image and likeness when we speak things.

So when you start speaking, the circumstances they're going to start doubled and down on you.

I mean, it gets hotter instead of better.

I mean, the more you talk about trouble, the more you talk about, uh, your, your broke.

And the more you talk about your insufficiency, the more you talk about all that stuff and all high inflation.

Oh man, inflation's eating me alive.

See, you can have what you say.

It can eat you alive or you can get on top of it.

God's supply can outstrip the ridiculous inflation.

Yeah, inflation's high, but God's rate of return is greater.

Are you with me now.

So he considered, not, he considered the promise and the performer of the promise.

All right.

So this week let's look at Hebrews, chapter 10.

I got one more considered before we get off this subject.

It's so important because these are the last days that we're living in here and I'm so I teach a lot out of Hebrews, because the theme of Hebrews is Jesus is better.

The book of Hebrews was written to Jewish people who were coming out of Judaism.

In that time there are many of these people were the ones that said crucify him, crucify him.

I mean, you know it's religion, you know it's religion.

And they have all their rituals and their things that they have to do to satisfy the requirements of their being able to approach God.

Because they're spiritually dead, they don't have the Spirit of God living in them, but when they get saved they come out of that.

But there's a lot of that tradition that hangs on them.

You know, I've been around a lot of what we call Messianic Jews, jews, jews.

They call them completed Jews and they, you know, they hang on.

They hang on to their Hebrewness.

And I have a problem I've told.

I told one of them I got pretty close to I said I don't know why you make such a big deal about being a Jew.

You're a new creature.

The Bible says old things are passed away.

There's no more Jew nor Greek.

There's no more bond nor free.

There's no more male or female.

You're a new creature.

Why don't you embrace that?

They're always talking about being Jewish and you know it leaves a hole in your faith.

So he wrote the book of Hebrews to get that out of them.

Jesus is better and so we need to learn from their mistakes and learn from their weaknesses, because we all have our forms of religion.

Sometimes you know amen, all right.

Hebrews 10, 21,.

He's talking about the high priest again and having a high priest over the house of God.

Everybody say the house of God.

See, he's not just only a high priest of your profession or your confession, he's a high priest over the house of God.

That means when the house of God is active and it's saying something or doing something, it's that high priest that administers that thing to do.

For instance, you know he's given this church some mandates.

I didn't make the mandates this church has got, but he gave this church a mandate to wake up the church.

The church is asleep.

So that's my God votes.

I mean, you know, all these years 20, some odd, 20, some odd years after he told me to wake up the church, we're getting into the forefront of that mandate.

So then he's the high priest over and he administered that.

He's executing that, he's carrying it into effect.

Are y'all with me now?

See, we're not the performer, he's the performer, but he's the high priest over this church.

So the house of God, see, it's not just me.

I mean, I received it as pastor of the church, but you have a part to play because you're in the house of God.

So consider having a high priest over the house of God.

Let us draw near with true heart, draw near to God with true heart and full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience or a guilty conscience.

We're going to have communion in just a little bit, and that's how we renew our faith that we are worthy.

We're not worthy in and of ourselves.

We're worthy because the blood washes us.

We've all sinned.

We've all fallen short of the glory of ourselves.

We're worthy because the blood washes us.

We've all sinned.

We've all fallen short of the glory of God.

We've all done things we're ashamed of, but we don't come into his presence thinking about that.

We have our bodies washed with pure water, the washing of the water by the word.

We have our mind cleansed by the blood that's all under the blood.

If you ever confessed it, it's gone.

He doesn't remember it.

Quit coming into his presence, trying to come.

You can't really come into his presence condemned and guilty.

You've got to get that off of you.

You ought to do that before you ever get here.

But just in case.

And then we have communion on a frequent basis to renew that and to refresh our thinking on that issue.

So, having a high priest over the house of God, let us draw near with true heart, full assurance of faith.

Having our hearts sprinkled, our spirits sprinkled from an evil conscience, guilty conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water, let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering.

Why?

Because he is faithful, who promised?

And let us verse 24, consider One another.

Let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works, not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is, but so much the more as you see the day approaching and how many of you see the day approaching?

I mean Jesus is coming and it's not just talking about coming to church, like this morning.

It's not just that, it's about responding to the house of God and its mandates and everything it takes to be a church body.

You know, we want to come toward God, we want to consider Jesus, we want to draw near to God, but we have to do it Also.

We have to consider God in our brother and sister that are on either side of us, in front of us and behind us.

If we ignore the, the horizontal, then we haven't really considered Jesus.

If we ignore the body, see where the body Jesus is, the head.

I mean, you can, I see this, I see this.

In fact, since COVID, there's been a lot of people.

They just, they just got rid of the body, they.

The body was a problem, they had trouble with people.

You know, if I yeah, I had a lady one time, and I don't care if she's watching or not, but anyway, she came for a while and she was very talented and airy and we used her, put her to work.

Look, we need help.

We need help with everything.

Just name anything you can think of and we need help with it.

And I'm not begging, I'm just saying this is our body, so if you don't do it, it don't get done.

So we didn't.

If something, if we, if we attempt to do something in a direction and there's not enough of you to help us with it, and we just cut it off.

Brother Osteen taught me that Just cut it off.

And so that's not good, because if God told us to do it and we don't do it, then what happens?

Well, then we've got a problem.

We're not going to accomplish everything we're supposed to.

So my job is to put it out there and let you consider, consider, in other words, set your eyes and your mind on that thing, on the body, on the body.

And so you know, she just didn't get along well with people.

She was a perfectionist.

She did what she did very well, she was really good at it and it was beautiful and everything what she did.

I won't describe it any further, but she had the talent and it was good.

But she didn't do well with other people and she said you know, can I just work by myself?

I don't like working with people.

I said well, that's the whole purpose of you being here is to work with other people and show other people how to do what you're doing and work yourself out of a job.

That's your job, that's your purpose.

It's not to do that thing, it's it's to reproduce yourself, honey.

But she just wouldn't.

She just wouldn't, wouldn't, wouldn't, just got all flustered.

And I remember one day, you know, she had a person come and do her job and that person came and did it on their day off, on a Saturday, and they were working, they were busy, but this was a deadline, and that person had volunteered to do that thing for her and did it.

And when she showed up, she didn't like it, tore it all apart and redid it.

Well, what kind of a signal did you send to the person that did it?

It wasn't good enough.

So, anyway, she finally left the church in a huff see, because she couldn't have her way.

That's not.

I don't care, don't let the door hit you.

That's not the purpose.

The purpose is for you to consider Jesus and everybody around you and to get yourself hooked up with them.

You know, in just a little while we're going to have people come down here for prayer and we're going to lay hands on them, and so we need you to hook up and get an agreement so that they can get their miracle.

Some of them need miracles and there's other people that are watching by live stream and they need miracles.

So that's one aspect of it.

But then the other aspect we've got children in the service today.

So we just got through hearing all about the successful children's camp and then the altitude camp.

The teenagers had a camp.

Both of them were mightily successful.

Most of our staff was out of the office for two weeks because we had to fill in the gaps.

Our staff and really when they're out of the office doing that, then stuff in the office doesn't get done, and that's more, really.

I mean.

So what does that mean?

It means that you need to step up.

I'm not recruiting this morning, I'm just giving you the need.

We need help in children's church, we need help in the youth.

So you might want to quit doing some things and maybe put your mind and heart on this and see if God would have you to be a supply for the need.

That's right here.

Let us consider one another to provoke unto love and the good works.

In other words, you're so full of love and so full of being busy about God.

You know I like what.

What Paul said about one family in the Corinthian church.

Let's see what.

What church?

What is that?

First Corinthians 16.

It's worth looking at it real quick.

1 Corinthians 16.

Corinthian church was a carnal church, but they had gifts of the Spirit.

They had gifts, they had man.

You know they had sin, but they had gifts.

1 Corinthians 16.

It says, verse 17,.

I'm glad for the coming of Stephanas and Fortunatus and Achaias, for that which was lacking on your part.

They have supplied.

Ooh, paul is writing the Corinthians.

He's letting them know that they fell short in their support, for they have refreshed my spirit and yours.

Therefore, acknowledge them that are such the churches of Asia I'm sorry, back up, I went past it.

Verse 15, verse 15,.

Go back to verse 15.

I beseech you, brethren, you know, the house of Stephanas, that in the firstfruits of Achaia, that in the firstfruits of Achaia, that is the firstfruits of Achaia, in other words, they were one of the first families to get saved in Corinthian that they have addicted themselves to the ministry of the saints.

They've addicted themselves to the ministry of the saints.

So he's pointing out to the people who were sitting on the sidelines, being a Monday morning quarterback, criticizing what's going on but not providing any effort.

That's what this is about.

He comes around to tell them hey, they supplied what you didn't.

So he says they've been addicted to the ministry of the saints.

Well, what does that mean exactly?

That family was provoking all the rest of them unto love and to good works.

They're showing them an example, man.

We've got such examples in this church.

We've got people that work.

They'll do anything.

They will do anything.

They're just always here to provide what they can to fill in whatever gap they see.

But we need more of that Going forward.

We're going to have to have it.

I just want to let you know we're going to have to have it.

We've got a lot on our plate going forth, especially between now and November the 5th.

Anybody know what's going to happen November the 5th, and it can't all be outside.

Some of it's got to be right in here, because the light that shines furthest shines brightest at home.

I mean, we can go out there, all of us can go out there and do a bunch of stuff and leave it down here, and then we're out of order.

There's got to be a priority, amen.

So he said about that the family you submit yourself unto such and to everyone that helps with us and labors.

So, in other words, you know you should watch their example and you should come up alongside them and say, hey, I see what you're doing, you need some help.

I mean, you know you can call me, I can't do, I can't work every Sunday, but I can work here, I can work there.

You know, I have people that come here and they think that the commitment is like every week.

Well, some, some people have chosen to make themselves available every single Sunday, like Pete brother.

Pete is here, he's here all the time.

Well, I didn't ask him to do that, but he's done it.

But we have other things that are we'll tailor your commitment to your ability to meet that commitment.

We're not trying to get blood out of a tournament, but we just want you to know that there's availabilities for everything you can think of, and we need you, we need you coming on board, amen.

So consider Everything you can think of, and we need you, we need you coming on board, amen, so consider.

So he said here.

Jesus is the high priest of the house of God, not just individually but corporately.

He said let us do three things Draw near, hold fast and consider one another.

That's what he said to do in the Bible.

To hold fast, to draw near, to consider one another.

That's what he said to do in the Bible.

To hold fast, to draw near, to consider one another.

So not only attend church, but you pray.

Pray for your pastor, pray for his family, pray for the ministry, and when you pray, god is going to put things in your heart a to-do list.

Prayer is not about getting God to do everything.

Prayer is about saying to God here I am, send me.

That's what really prayer is.

It's not about oh God, heal our land.

You know there are people praying Old Testament prayer, 2 Chronicles 7, 14.

That's a beautiful prayer, but it's not.

It's not.

You can't ask God to heal our land.

You've got to ask God to show you what to do to heal our land.

It's not his job to come down here.

He already came down here, didn't he?

Did he send Jesus?

Did Jesus do the job or not?

Is his blood enough?

That's what I want to ask.

Is his authority enough?

Did he give us authority?

Yeah, he gave us all that stuff.

So it's just silly to pray for God to do anything else.

No, we're in place and he's expecting us.

Amen, glory to God.

So, yes, we need to attend church services, but we need to also get involved in the body of Christ here at Glorious Way Church.

This is a place God sent you, and so much the more as we see the day approaching.

So and you know another thing you can bring people to church.

Some of you are doing that.

I mean, we had a lot of visitors last week, almost every one of them.

Someone, one of you, brought them here.

That's really.

You know, since COVID, there's a lot of Christians that are unattached.

Get them, grab them, engage them.

The Holy Ghost will show you who they are.

I mean, start talking.

You're not a sheep thief.

These people are floating around unattached.

That's not God's will for them.

They need a pastor.

They need to come and engage and then, if we're their pastor, they'll know it and we'll know it and they can get hooked up with us.

Amen.

And if not, that's fine.

You did your job.

You did what a believer is supposed to do.

I'm not going to go to the mall and stand there with cards.
