  1. Vests. Making void the word of God by

  2. your tradition that you have handed down.

  3. And many such things you do thus making void the word of God by

  4. your tradition that you have handed down and many such things

  5. you do. These are the words of the Lord

  6. Jesus Christ found in Mark, chapter 7 verse 13 and they were

    Mark 7:13

  7. directed to the spiritual leaders of his day, who

  8. questioned him about his disregard for man-made.

  9. Addition that dominated his culture back then.

  10. And that stinging statement that was made by Jesus Christ.

  11. Still has resounded in relevance to our spiritual climate today.

  12. Because as you know, there are many customs and there are many

  13. rituals that are being honored and handed down in the name of

  14. God. And as a result are directing

  15. people away from the liberating truths that are found in God's

  16. revelation and we have been lingering here in Chapter 7 for

  17. some time for the sole purpose of addressing.

  18. Some of those prevailing Traditions that we are familiar

  19. with in Christendom familiar with my baby, not acquainted

  20. with maybe not knowledgeable in and we want to address some of

  21. these things in the spirit of Christ.

  22. Now, I know that for some, this may seem like an unnecessary or

  23. an uncharitable approach, but understand that even the Lord

  24. hear you, you have read. With me through this chapter

  25. many times, he addressed specific areas from different

  26. systems of belief sometimes by name and the apostles followed

  27. and those who would occupy the the office of a Preacher.

  28. Are required from time to time to also follow the example of

  29. Christ. It's not an easy thing.

  30. It's not a comfortable thing, but it is a necessary thing.

  31. You know, I was reading in the book of Lamentations and my

  32. personal reading. And I came across a verse that

  33. ministered to me in this area, and I prayed that it would

  34. encourage you. So I quoted Mark chapter 7, but

    Mark 7 chapter mention

  35. if you have your Bibles with you, turn with me to limitations

  36. right after Jeremiah Lamentations chapter 2, and look

    Lamentations 2 chapter mention

  37. with me at verse 14 for a moment.

  38. Limitations to 14. Jeremiah is speaking here.

  39. And he says, After the fact after the fact that judgment has

  40. come to Judah limitations to 14, your prophets have seen for you,

  41. false and deceptive Visions. They have not exposed your

  42. iniquity to restore your fortunes, but I've seen for you

  43. oracle's that are false and misleading They have not exposed

  44. your iniquity to restore your fortunes.

  45. Now, depending on your translation, if you have a good

  46. solid faithful translation, some would say to turn away, thy

  47. captivity, or to turn to bring back your captives or to restore

  48. you from captivity, whatever translation you hold.

  49. The principle is still the same. The Holy Spirit through the lips

  50. of Jeremiah makes a connection between uncovering or

  51. undisclosed, engaging, making known the sins of the people and

  52. then being liberated from captivity.

  53. The Captivity in this context is literal, right?

  54. They literally went into captivity but it was the fruit

  55. of a spiritual captivity. And so God puts blame on those

  56. who are self appointed representatives, in Jeremiah's

  57. day, those who are self acclaimed prophets, and they

  58. refuse to address the errors of the people of that time.

  59. And in refusing to expose the errors, they kept the people

  60. bound. They kept the people in

  61. darkness, they kept the people in falsehood and that ultimately

  62. let to led to their own discipline and their own

  63. chastisement. Aunt.

  64. And so, what's the, what's the point here, here's the point

  65. that if there are things in Christendom, right, that are

  66. deterring people hindering people from coming to saving

  67. faith Then surely there is some sort of responsibility,

  68. especially for those who are leaders in the True Church of

  69. Jesus Christ to say something about it, to address it to

  70. confront it. And if there's any confusion

  71. about what the goal of these messages are, please don't be

  72. confused any further. We want to see people set free.

  73. We want to see people liberated, we want to see people be

  74. restored to their fortunes restored to the true blessings

  75. that are in Christ that are only available when the truth is

  76. Faithfully presented. And when that same truth is

  77. responded to, with repentant faith, So, this is the heart

  78. posture behind what have, what has been presented and what will

  79. continue to be presented? Now, with that being said, I

  80. know that last week you were here.

  81. Some of you were here at least and you heard some discussion,

  82. some insight concerning the doctrines, the false doctrines

  83. pertaining to marry and we did so by examining namely what the

  84. Roman Catholic Church teaches about her.

  85. And I have to say, we received great encouragement from Last

  86. Sunday and one of the common responses from people here and

  87. Beyond is I didn't know that. I just I understood that there

  88. was differences but I didn't know the depth of the

  89. distinctives, I didn't know that this is what people believed and

  90. that's what we're trying to do to make people aware of these

  91. differences for the sake of Restoring and reaching out to

  92. others. Now with the great encouragement

  93. with some testimonies, as you can imagine, there's a little

  94. bit of pushback, right, and not from here.

  95. Thank God, maybe in your heart, I don't know.

  96. But Mainly from people who watch Us online who visit our channel

  97. from time to time, I guess and there were some Egyptian

  98. objections and I'm not going to take the time to address every

  99. single one of those objections. But I think I want to make

  100. mention of one thing because it will only confirm the main point

  101. of all of this. The central idea, the driving

  102. desire of what's being communicated here.

  103. There is truth in this that some of the reformers Martin Luther

  104. Wright, John Calvin, and zwingli and other prominent fingers.

  105. I John Wesley. Also affirmed.

  106. And hold to the Perpetual virginity of Mary They did

  107. believe that and and Colts were provided in response to what was

  108. presented yesterday of how they did hold firm to that view of

  109. her. Now, I understand why that was

  110. brought forward. But here's the thing that I want

  111. to say, regardless of the intention regardless of what's,

  112. what was trying to be done in presenting these men and what

  113. they believe to us I think that attempt missed the whole point

  114. of the message. Because you see whether it's

  115. Luther or whether it's Calvin. Whether it's Wesley, regardless

  116. of who the person is, we don't look to the authority of man, we

  117. look to the authority of the Bible.

  118. That's the point that's why we're doing what we're doing,

  119. whether it is a pope or it is a reformer, whatever.

  120. Any man claims as being Revelation from God, must

  121. subject himself and every single one of those statements must be

  122. subject to the evaluation the Station or the condemnation of

  123. what God has written, that's the truth and I think even some

  124. evangelicals have to be careful here because I hear some

  125. evangelicals quote. These guys as though they were

  126. authoritative What does the Bible say?

  127. What does God's word say? What does God's word say through

  128. the men that he has placed his hand on for a special purpose of

  129. revealing Divine truth? That's the goal here, that's

  130. what we're saying. And so this is an evangelicals

  131. and Protestants versus Catholics in Eastern Orthodox in the

  132. world. This is about claiming what the

  133. word of God has to say about itself and then calling people

  134. to observe the truth of the scripture as supreme authority.

  135. That's the point. So let there be no confusion

  136. here again, this is not the denominationalism here.

  137. This is not camps. Here, this is the Bible, the

  138. word of God that has been preserved and kept by Sovereign,

  139. will has been granted to us to know what he desires from us.

  140. All right, there's a lot of things I can say, but I won't

  141. because this will turn into Mary ology part 2 and we don't have

  142. time for that. My desire here is to communicate

  143. something else. I want to take the time to

  144. examine yet. Another instance sense of what

  145. can occur when scripture alone is no longer regarded as

  146. absolutely authoritative, when it doesn't have the final say

  147. last week, you heard some disturbing things and this week,

  148. we're going to look at how some traditions have misinterpreted.

  149. The meaning and the practice of the Lord's Supper.

  150. Again, for the sake of making this a digestible session.

  151. I'm not going to exhaustively teach on this.

  152. Nor am I going to pull from what?

  153. Every single ancient and traditional Church believes

  154. about this. What I'm going to do is stay

  155. consistent with what we did last week and that's pulled from the

  156. Roman Catholic teaching, and then bring that before your

  157. attention. And hopefully, you'll be stirred

  158. enough to look deeper and then to look at what other people

  159. believe in other traditions and other institutions, hold to

  160. concerning this subject. Because the spectrum is quite

  161. wide. And over the years, it became

  162. apparent to me that some professing Christians, do

  163. different things. And and with that, they can

  164. find, he's regularly participating in different

  165. settings. That offer the bread and the

  166. cup. And among those people, you have

  167. some who do things like, attend the Roman Catholic church in the

  168. morning and then go to a faithful Evangelical Church and

  169. that same day and and partake of the mass while also partaking of

  170. the communion that's presented in a Evangelical expression.

  171. And it doesn't seem to bother them and it doesn't seem to work

  172. them. And it doesn't seem to encourage

  173. them to think a little bit deeper about if there are

  174. differences here. Now, listen, I'm fully aware

  175. that some of you might be thinking brother, why again?

  176. I said this last week. Why is this really important?

  177. Why are you making such a big deal of this?

  178. There's enough in our Bible to discover, why are we going this

  179. way? And I understand, right?

  180. And I understand that some would even say leave people alone I

  181. mean can we just not excused them and excuse, what they're

  182. doing as simple devotion to the Lord that they want to express

  183. in different kind of ways. Why do we have to nitpick this?

  184. Why do we have to point these things out?

  185. Is it really important? To, which I would respond.

  186. Listen, it's not about what's important to you and me.

  187. Here's the question isn't important to God.

  188. Is it important to the head of the church?

  189. It's not enough to say we worship.

  190. It's not enough to excuse any kind of practice or engagement

  191. as worship. God wants us to know how to

  192. worship. Not just if we worship.

  193. Okay, more than that. We understand.

  194. What do we believe about our spiritual disciplines?

  195. What do we believe about our expressions of devotion and

  196. adoration? And with that, we have to

  197. understand what do we understand to be this massive, Monumental

  198. ordinance that Christ has established for his people for

  199. all generations until his very return.

  200. What truths that we ascribe to that?

  201. What is it? That were actually doing when

  202. once a month you come forward here and you you engage in this

  203. corporate Act of Thanksgiving and recognition.

  204. And I hope you have a grasp of that.

  205. I hope you yourself are aware of why it is.

  206. You do what you do and if you don't then hopefully you'll know

  207. it now, you know, that we do this in remembrance of him, we

  208. know that we do this in, proclaiming the Lord's death

  209. until he comes. But what others believe?

  210. What others believe about the table, what others believe about

  211. the supper, what other people believe about this ordinance?

  212. Well to Roman Catholics according to their own

  213. catechism. And my intention here is not to

  214. misinterpret anything and so everything I'm going to claim.

  215. And I as I said last week, I don't prefer this kind of

  216. delivery but my head's going to be down more than might be up,

  217. but it's because I want to quote the sources for you so that I

  218. would not be labeled as deceptive or misleading.

  219. I want you to hear what they have to say for themselves and I

  220. want that to stir your heart, stir your heart to have a

  221. greater Zeal for God's glory and a greater Zeal to reach out

  222. people who might not know what. Or even doing, which is very

  223. common, very, very common. Don't catechism.

  224. Their own statement of faith. That is binding.

  225. That is universal. In the Catholic catechism and

  226. paragraph number 132 for the Eucharist which they call it,

  227. which really just means Thanksgiving.

  228. The Eucharist is the source and Summit of the Christian Life.

  229. It is the source and the summit of the Christian Life Source,

  230. meaning that all spiritual life flows from the partaking of the

  231. Eucharist. And the summit meeting that it

  232. is the Pinnacle of the Christian experience.

  233. You can't get any higher than partaking in Mass.

  234. To claim this is quite astounding.

  235. And just from that statement alone, you can make the obvious

  236. observation that the Eucharist is absolutely vital and Central

  237. to the faith of Rome. There's no question about it,

  238. but here's a question to ask, why, why is the mass so primary?

  239. Why is it so defended? Why is it so cherished?

  240. Why is it worshipped? Yes, worshipped.

  241. It's an important question because once you understand the

  242. attributes, once you understand the implications of what is

  243. being taught with the Eucharist, then you'll get why it is so

  244. love, cherish and defended. Unfortunately deceiving and here

  245. I'm going to make it so easy for you.

  246. I hope that's my goal is to break down everything that is

  247. learned in the week and to present it to you in a way that

  248. you can understand and apply it. All you have to remember is two

  249. main aspects, just to two main distinctives that Makes Rome's

  250. understanding of the Lord's Supper different than ours.

  251. And the first one is this that the mass the Eucharist Rite, the

  252. mass is the partaking of the literal body and blood of the

  253. son of God. The mass is the partaking of the

  254. literal body and blood of the Son of God.

  255. Here's a summary from their own documents that leaves a clear

  256. foundation and an overview of their belief in this.

  257. Be patient with me please, as I read a lot, In their catechism,

  258. number 13, 76137 64, you taking notes, the Council of Trent

  259. summarizes, the Catholic faith by declaring, because Christ,

  260. Our Redeemer said, it was truly his body.

  261. That he was offering under the species of bread, it has always

  262. been the conviction of the Church of God and this holy

  263. Council. Now declares again, pay

  264. attention that by the consecration of the Bread and

  265. Wine. They're Takes place a change of

  266. the whole substance of the bread into the substance of the body

  267. of Christ, Our Lord, and of the whole substance of the wine into

  268. the substance of his blood. This change the Holy Catholic

  269. church has fittingly and properly called

  270. transubstantiation. You've heard the term

  271. transubstantiation that Fant fancy term simply means a change

  272. a transformation in substance. It's real, it's literal, it's

  273. not metaphorical. It's not spiritual, it's not

  274. allegorical, it is material. And this is a miraculous event

  275. by their own claim that the actual elements become the

  276. physical body of Jesus and the physical blood.

  277. This is again something to be understood as real and tangible

  278. here. It is from their own catechism.

  279. I caught it to you. 1376 here's paragraph, 1374, this is

  280. astounding. In The Most Blessed Sacrament of

  281. the Eucharist, the body and blood together.

  282. So the body and the blood together with the soul and

  283. Divinity of our Lord Jesus Christ.

  284. And therefore, the whole Christ is truly really substantially

  285. contained. You're going to hear me quote

  286. later on from Catholic answers. Then the same way.

  287. Jesus Christ was here, two thousand years ago.

  288. He is with us daily. When the Eucharist is presented.

  289. Now before I unpack, what that implies, we have to understand

  290. that this notion according to the catechism is a teaching that

  291. they believed to be from the very lips of the master.

  292. You might be wondering where, where do they get this

  293. understanding, right, and you remember how I quoted the first

  294. paragraph because Christ Our Redeemer said that it was truly

  295. his body that he was offering under the species of bread, he

  296. said it. So, the claim is, we didn't get

  297. this out of thin air. We didn't even, we didn't

  298. attribute this to Sacred, to just soon or to the magisterium

  299. our basis for this is Christ. And what's their go to passage?

  300. You know, it, John chapter 6 and I want you to turn there to the

    John 6 chapter mention

  301. collection of verses that is often referred to to justify

  302. this teaching. In John chapter 6.

    John 6 chapter mention

  303. In verse 53. So Jesus said to them, truly

  304. truly, I say to you, unless you eat the Flesh of the son of man

  305. and drink his blood, you have no life in you.

  306. Whoever feeds on my flesh and drinks.

  307. My blood has eternal life and I will raise him up on the last

  308. day for my flesh is True Food and my blood is true drink.

  309. Whoever feeds on my flesh and drinks, my blood abides in me

  310. and I in him. Seems straightforward.

  311. Seems clear, right? Here's the problem.

  312. Here's the first problem of going to John chapter 6, to try

    John 6 chapter mention

  313. to justify this. Massive teaching with massive

  314. implications and it is catastrophic when you break it

  315. down. Was the Lord's Supper even

  316. Institute at this point in the ministry of Jesus Christ and

  317. sir. No.

  318. There is quite some time to go before the institution of the

  319. Lord's Supper it even takes place.

  320. So what you have here is a teaching that has no connection

  321. whatsoever to the ordinance that Christ will establish after he

  322. is going to serve his disciples and make and before he makes his

  323. way to the Cross, There Is No Illusion here whatsoever.

  324. That Jesus is providing some kind of commentary of what takes

  325. place at the table. Nothing of the A short.

  326. And so, to take a teaching that uses similar terminology, but

  327. then to apply it to something that you and I engage with as an

  328. ordinance, is a dangerous stretch to make.

  329. So then, how do we understand this?

  330. How do we make sense of what Jesus is saying?

  331. The way you try to understand anything that is being said, in

  332. the Bible, you investigate the immediate context.

  333. And as you investigate the immediate context without your

  334. presuppositions, without any kind of authority telling you,

  335. otherwise Eyes. But just with the word of God,

  336. in John chapter 6, you have to make the honest, conclusion is

    John 6 chapter mention

  337. in the simple reading and evaluating Jesus, implying that

  338. we should not on his body and drink his actual blood.

  339. Well let's look forward because thankfully what Jesus says in

  340. the very same chapter clarifies, what he meant by this.

  341. So I want you to again, look at verse 54, look at the promise

  342. associated with eating and drinking him.

  343. Whoever feeds on my flesh and drinks.

  344. My blood has what eternal life has eternal life and I will

  345. raise him up on the last day. What a glorious promise you eat

  346. of me. You drink of me.

  347. You will have eternal life and I will raise you up on the last

  348. day. You know what's fascinating

  349. about that? That's not the only time in this

  350. context, Jesus gives that promise he gives it back here in

  351. verse 40. Look at John 640 and what do you

  352. read? For this is the will of my

  353. father that everyone who looks on the son and believes in Him

  354. should have eternal life and I will raise him up on the last

  355. day of parallels perfectly. One difference, the precondition

  356. is different. The prerequisite is different.

  357. Look, back at verse 54. Why was the prerequisite?

  358. If you feed on my flesh and if you drink my blood, you have one

  359. eternal life and to you have the promise that I will raise you up

  360. on the last day. Hold on to that.

  361. That's the reward. That's the assurance.

  362. You go back to verse 14, you realize that the rewards are

  363. still there, the same ones, but what, what is required before

  364. that? He says, it who looks on the son

  365. and believes in him, who looks on the son and believes in Him.

  366. St. Promise, yes.

  367. Different precondition. It seems.

  368. So and less Jesus here. When you join these two

  369. statements proves that in this parallel, the feeding and

  370. drinking. Is not a literal command to

  371. Feast on him physically, but it is a metaphor for receiving him

  372. and believing in him by faith to Christ eating is believing.

  373. That's all it is to eat. Means to receive him by faith.

  374. And by receiving and by faith, you receive the nourishment and

  375. the sustenance that he provides through that channel of simple

  376. trust and who he says to be and this is the emphasis in John

    John 6 chapter mention

  377. chapter 6. So, wait, well, why is he using

  378. the language of eating and drinking because why are the

  379. people there there? They want actual bread.

  380. He just multiplied, bread fed, thousands of people and here

  381. they are. Again, they want a refill.

  382. So Christ meets them there and he takes their physical desire

  383. and he parallels it with a spiritual truth.

  384. He's meeting them where they're at and he's challenging them

  385. through this metaphor, through this figure of applying.

  386. It spiritually. Look at verse 35 of John chapter

    John 6 chapter mention

  387. 6, Jesus said to them, I am the bread of life whoever comes to

  388. me, shall not hunger. And whoever believes in me,

  389. shall never thirst believe, believe verse 29.

  390. When the same crowd asked them, what are the works of God that

  391. we need to do? How does Jesus respond?

  392. This is the work of God that you believe in him whom he sent.

  393. Belief. Receive.

  394. Comes by faith, not by feasting. Comes by trust, not by

  395. transubstantiation. Now if this is not the true

  396. meaning of Jesus words, then we have more problems than just

  397. transubstantiation we do because I want you to think about it.

  398. If we're consistent with Rome's interpretation here, then you

  399. also have to understand that when Jesus says you have eternal

  400. life and I will raise you up on the line last day, then I'm just

  401. by simple equation. Me eating him and drinking and

  402. means I will have eternal life. Eating and drinking him is by

  403. faith. That's consistent with the whole

  404. scripture that's in harmony with the rest of the Bible.

  405. But if eating him and drinking and means that after the priest

  406. consecrates, the bread and the wine and it transforms it to

  407. Christ's body and I am to eat of him then naturally we have to

  408. understand that it is the Eucharist that gives me eternal

  409. life. It's the mass that ultimately

  410. saves me. That's a different gospel.

  411. And only is a different gospel, which I'll get to in a moment.

  412. It's inconsistent with scripture because we know that the Lord

  413. instituted the Lord's Supper, not for people to become

  414. Christian. But for people who aren't

  415. Christians, So even the very purpose and definition of the

  416. Lord's table is is obliterated because we know that it's for

  417. the church that we come in remembrance of him, we don't

  418. come to the table to be in him or for him to be in us.

  419. Know, because we are in and we now can and have the right to

  420. partake in that table. So there's a lot of problems

  421. here and this is why it can't be according to how our Roman

  422. friends claimed it to be in a common objection that that is

  423. often given. It's really a foundational

  424. objection to what I just said to you is that if Christ really was

  425. speaking here metaphorically, then why didn't you make the

  426. effort to clarify that he was speaking and figurative language

  427. to those that were there because they interpret it literally and

  428. they even walked away. Assuming that what was being

  429. said was literal Why didn't Jesus say whoa wait, hold on,

  430. no, no let me understand. This is actually talking about

  431. faith and although he already talked about belief belief

  432. belief over and over and over again.

  433. So this is what usually brought forth as an obstacle.

  434. And here's a simple answer. Apart from the fact that Jesus

  435. uses metaphor a lot especially in John, how many I am

  436. statements? I am the door.

  437. I am the light, right? How many of them there are

  438. seven, including this one apart from that is it foreign to us to

  439. actually see in Jesus preaching and teaching that he does not

  440. elaborate on what he had said to his audience.

  441. Keeping them in the dark. It's not a foreign idea.

  442. In fact, Jesus did that and we learned that in Mark especially

  443. through his Parables that when he discerned the heart of the

  444. people, that no matter how many miracles and how many truths

  445. were brought forth to their attention, that they were still

  446. willing to deny and not apply the truth.

  447. That was given to them. He was still willing to engage

  448. with them. But in a way that would solidify

  449. their darkness and keep them away from the truth, as an act

  450. of discipline in judgment. Is it any different here?

  451. It's pretty obvious here. You have this people fixated on

  452. the fact that Jesus provided them food, and that's all they

  453. wanted him for they saw. Saw him as the king that can

  454. overthrow Rome that can make their lives a little bit easier.

  455. And so they want to Crown Him and Jesus sees right through

  456. them. And so every time, if you read

  457. that lengthy chapter, every time Christ tries to diverts them to

  458. spiritual truth and eternal life, the people became more and

  459. more hostile, more and more upset, more and more Disturbed.

  460. And when Christ claimed his Heavenly origin, you can just

  461. you can tell just by the reading that they're becoming more

  462. distant to Christ. Truly is not more attracted.

  463. To the point where Jesus makes these very graphic claims about

  464. himself and what is required of them and they walk away and

  465. guess what? He doesn't chase them.

  466. He doesn't run after them. And this isn't the only time

  467. that he does that because Christ knows the heart.

  468. And that's why in that same chapter, he talks about the

  469. father drawing, right? He talks about what needs to

  470. happen in the heart. Something needs to happen in

  471. that heart. There needs to be disposition of

  472. your heart, to receive who crisis and his claims and not to

  473. ignore to misinterpret with your fleshly understanding.

  474. And so it's clear but tradition as a way of skewing and

  475. confusing, what is clear? Have you ever wondered how not

  476. the wise, not the what's but how transubstantiation takes place?

  477. Because it's spelled out in great detail and it's actually

  478. very important for you to know and here is from their

  479. catechism. Number 1105 1105, The invocation

  480. upon. So when the priest makes

  481. invocation is the intercession in which the priest begs of the

  482. father to send the Holy Spirit the sanctifier so that the

  483. offerings may become the body and blood of Christ and at the

  484. faithful by receiving them may themselves become a living

  485. offering to God, John O'Brien who is a Catholic priest wrote a

  486. book called The Faith of millions.

  487. The faith of Millions. Is the credentials of Catholic

  488. religion and in his work, which is very popular, not just

  489. popular. It is often referred to, as a

  490. theological guide for serious, Roman Catholics.

  491. He expands on what is in the catechism here?

  492. He expands on it and he gives us even more specific details of

  493. what actually takes place. When the priest, yes, that same

  494. priest that's their daily. When the priest is ready to

  495. consecrate the elements, what actually takes place.

  496. Pay attention. This is disturbing.

  497. I'm just giving you a heads-up. It's disturbing.

  498. This is in his book, from the 1933 publication date, and it's

  499. found on page, 27, T and 271. And this is again, this is not

  500. some peripheral thing. I was just kind of scrolling

  501. through different websites and apologist from the Roman

  502. Catholic faith. And I found John O'Brien being

  503. referred to as a reference and one of the arguments this is not

  504. the same reference but it just goes to show that he still being

  505. referred to Quote, you ready for this?

  506. When the priest? Pronounces the tremendous words

  507. of consecration, he reaches up into the heavens, brings Christ

  508. down from his throne and places them upon are altered to be

  509. offered up again as the victim for the sins of man.

  510. It is a power greater than that of monarchs and Emperors.

  511. It is greater than that, of saints, and Angels, greater than

  512. that of seraphim and cherubim. Indeed it is Greater even than

  513. the power of the Virgin Mary. For while the Blessed Virgin was

  514. the human agency by which Christ became incarnate, a single time,

  515. the priest brings Christ down from heaven and renders him

  516. present on our altar as the Eternal victim for the sins of

  517. men. Not once but a thousand times.

  518. And quote. You almost got to take a few

  519. breaths before you dissect this. Right?

  520. It's jarring. It is jarring because according

  521. to O'Brien, the priest is the one who has the authority by his

  522. command to bring Jesus Christ, out of heaven and to be in our

  523. midst. And so great is the office of

  524. the priest. According to Old Brian, that his

  525. authority, surpasses the prerogative 's that are uniquely

  526. bestowed upon who we learn about.

  527. Last week, the Virgin Mary, which is another startling thing

  528. because of all the praise and the veneration in the worship.

  529. That goes to her. It makes you wonder really,

  530. there's something that actually challenges Mary.

  531. The inconsistencies in a false system are not surprising.

  532. And if you think about a deeper, what you have here is actually

  533. an imitation, you have an imitation here of the levitical

  534. priesthood so we believe what Christ did on the cross is

  535. suffice has, right? It's finished.

  536. But what you have with the levitical priesthood was what

  537. you had priest. You had an altar, you had daily

  538. sacrifices priest, alter daily sacrifices.

  539. That is mirrored perfectly with Rome's version.

  540. You have priests the front. There is not just a nice table

  541. decorated, it's an altar, where sacrifices take place, There is

  542. an altar and instead of goats, and instead of oxen you have

  543. Christ being sacrificed. And this is not my

  544. interpretation that's from his very same book on page, 262.

  545. We believe that the sacrificial system of old points to a New

  546. Covenant, with a greater sacrifice and a greater high

  547. priest. But to Rome it foreshadows their

  548. priesthood. And it gives them some kind of

  549. License to justify their priesthood, their Altar and

  550. they're sacrificing, not of animals, but of the son of God.

  551. That's a whole different conversation, but let me

  552. continue for my original quote going into page 271, okay?

  553. If you thought, what I quoted to you was hard, get ready for

  554. this? The priest speaks and low

  555. Christ, the Eternal, and omnipotent God, boughs, his

  556. head, and humble, obedience to the priest command.

  557. Of what Sublime dignity is the office of the Christian priest?

  558. Who is this privilege to act as the Ambassador and the

  559. vicegerent of Christ on Earth. He continues the essential

  560. Ministry of Christ. He teaches the faithful with the

  561. authority of Christ. He pardons the penitent sinner

  562. with the power of Christ. He offers up again the same

  563. sacrifice of adoration and atonement, which Christ offered

  564. on Calvary. No wonder that the name which

  565. spiritual writers are. Especially fond of applying to

  566. the Priestess called, is that of alter Christus?

  567. For the priest is and should be another Christ.

  568. For the priest is and should be another Christ.

  569. Funny. I remember Jesus warning about

  570. false Christ that would emerge in the last days.

  571. Do you remember That people who claim the authority and the

  572. power of Christ would be in our midst.

  573. So, what you have in the system is not just a false

  574. interpretation of communion. You have false Christ who are

  575. offering it. Clergy you actually claim and

  576. believe that they have the ability to pull Christ down from

  577. heaven and to become elements that can be consumed by others.

  578. Which results in what exactly think about it.

  579. Think about the order of thought, think about the

  580. implications, think about what can happen if you have Christ.

  581. Actually literally being here in our very presence in close

  582. proximity, then you have the Son of God in your midst and if you

  583. have the Son of God in your midst, with people who love God

  584. or their God, love their Jesus, then what does that invoke?

  585. What does that provoque at least worship?

  586. Christ is here. And if Christ is here, we're

  587. going to worship Him. Worship God no worship the

  588. sacrament. Because the sacrament is God

  589. With Us. If you don't believe me, if you

  590. think this is exaggeration, let me quote from Catholic answers.

  591. And this is not an anxious in text.

  592. This is modern apologist. Who clarify what they believe

  593. quote, since Christ is present in the Eucharist, God is truly

  594. present. This means that we give the

  595. Blessed Sacrament the worship and adoration that we give to

  596. God Alone. We see this especially in our

  597. liturgies. When we kneel and genuflect only

  598. before the Blessed Sacrament, these are postures that are due

  599. to God and only to God as signs of adoration.

  600. So what do you have here? You don't have the elements

  601. before in which we give thanks to God for what he has done.

  602. You have the worship of the actual elements because they're

  603. no longer Bread and Wine. It's the body and blood of

  604. Christ here with us. And how does that happen?

  605. When a man was been ordained in. The priesthood makes the command

  606. Christ. Humbles his head in obedience

  607. that command and makes his way down.

  608. This happens every single day all across how do they explain

  609. it? Well, they say it's a miracle,

  610. it's a miracle. Only the only the Holy Spirit

  611. can make Christ, physically appear in thousands of thousands

  612. of their churches or thousands, thousands of wherever they

  613. celebrate this at the same time and it's just as real.

  614. As you was here, 2,000 years ago.

  615. Now here's what they say, the main reason Catholic answers for

  616. so great, a confidence resides in the meaning of the Eucharist.

  617. Jesus Christ is here on Earth again in the Eucharist just as

  618. he was 2,000 years ago. He's not just present in memory,

  619. he is not just spiritually present, he is on Earth, body,

  620. and blood, soul, and divinity. But is that the only reason why

  621. is that the only reason why Catholics believe that bread and

  622. wine become the actual presence of Jesus Christ?

  623. No, that's not the only reason why it's not so that they can

  624. worship Him in closer. Proximity.

  625. It's not so that they can have some euphoric, you know,

  626. experience this mystical kind of thing.

  627. It's more than that. Here's a simple question.

  628. If Christ is being brought down, not just to make a show, not

  629. just to make some kind of dramatic demonstration.

  630. But if he is coming down as a sacrifice, the question is a

  631. sacrifice for what? Which is the second Point

  632. member. All of that was under the first

  633. point, the point that the mass is the literal body, and blood

  634. of Jesus Christ. It's the partaking of him

  635. physically. Secondly, and lastly, the mass

  636. is recognized. As an actual sacrifice.

  637. Perhaps some here, you haven't heard that.

  638. Maybe this is you hearing it again, but it's very important

  639. to understand here. When Christ comes down in the

  640. Eucharist, it's not so that he can be merely worship or doored.

  641. It's so that a real sacrifice can take place.

  642. That something can actually take place in your life as a result

  643. of you participating. That sacrifice.

  644. And you and I understand the Lord's table to be an act of

  645. remembrance. We reflect on what he has done.

  646. We even in some measure look forward to what will come to

  647. pass when he does return and feast with us.

  648. And we reflect as we enjoy, and we rehearse to one another of

  649. his saving faith of his grace. That's what we do.

  650. But Rome cannot accept the Simplicity of this to them.

  651. It's much more. It's, there's something else

  652. happening in mass and we have no intention to misrepresent them.

  653. So, again, forgive me, I must read what they say and I hope

  654. you understand what they're saying.

  655. So this isn't their catechism. I did brought the book last

  656. time, but you can look this up. This is recorded.

  657. You can you can, you can look this up yourself.

  658. It's free on a pdf online and number 1367 of the catechism of

  659. the Catholic Church. Here's what it says the

  660. sacrifice of Christ and the sacrifice of the Eucharist are

  661. one single sacrifice, very, very important, the Eucharist and

  662. what happened on Calvary is one single sacrifice the victim.

  663. Christ is a victim, right? The victim is one and the same,

  664. the same. Now offers through the ministry

  665. of priests who then offered himself on the cross only in a

  666. manner of the offering is different and since in this

  667. Divine sacrifice, which is celebrated in the mass, the same

  668. Christ who offered himself once in a bloody manner, on the altar

  669. of the Cross is contained in his offered and an unbloody manner.

  670. The sacrifice is truly propitiatory.

  671. So, let's break that down. It's one sacrifice.

  672. So, when the mass is taking place, this is an additional

  673. sacrifices that are happening. The claim is what happened on

  674. the cross. Through the mass is being

  675. repeated again and again, and again and again, over and over

  676. and over and over. And so what happened?

  677. 2,000 years ago, it's happening every single day by the power of

  678. the priesthood commands Christ by to come down and for a

  679. sacrifice to take place. Now what's the difference and

  680. they highlight the difference, the only difference is 2000

  681. years ago, it was a bloody sacrifice and what happens daily

  682. is an unbloody sacrifice. What does that mean?

  683. Here's what it means. The bloody sacrifice means that

  684. we don't see the mass as what they saw that day when Jesus

  685. Christ died. We don't see the the gruesome

  686. bloody bruised, Jesus know. It's the same sacrifice, but

  687. it's under the appearance of bread and wine.

  688. It's unbloody same sacrifice though.

  689. Just different appearance. And that's why a number 136 sis

  690. of the catechism. We are told that the Eucharist

  691. makes present, they use the word re present but then they they

  692. clarify it represent, meaning that they make present, not

  693. symbolically they make what happened, then is now happening

  694. before your very eyes. I'm sure you can sense, the

  695. troubling, realities of this. And it sounds strange, but it's

  696. more than strange. It's blasphemous.

  697. Blasphemy there's no other way to put it.

  698. Call me what you want, kill me if you want.

  699. I say it as it is, it's blasphemy.

  700. And all you have to do is read the book of Hebrews to

  701. understand and know how off this all is and ironically in the

  702. theme of the book of Hebrews. What is the author doing by the

  703. spirit? He is promoting crisis being so

  704. much greater than the levitical system which includes their

  705. priests and their sacrifices Christ is better.

  706. Don't go back to it. He's better, don't go back to

  707. it. He sufficient and know you know

  708. the verses I'm sure there's so many of them I'm just going to

  709. pull out a collection of to and I'm Going to read it.

  710. I don't even need to expound upon it for it to absolutely

  711. obliterate. What you just heard.

  712. I'll turn with me in your Bibles.

  713. I don't want to quote the catechism more than the Bible.

  714. Hebrews 7:26. May this refresh your soul, may

    Hebrews 7:26

  715. this bless you, may the secure you met, this create a praise in

  716. your heart. This afternoon, Hebrews 7:26 for

    Hebrews 7:26

  717. it was indeed fitting that we should have such a high priest,

  718. wholly, innocent, unstained, separated, from Sinners, and

  719. exalted above the heavens. He has no need like those High

  720. priests who offer sacrifices daily first for his own sins.

  721. And then, for those of the people since he did, This once

  722. for all when he offered up himself once for all amen.

  723. Indeed I'm glad you're awake this afternoon.

  724. Hebrews 10 term with me, Hebrews 10:10.

    Hebrews 10:10

  725. What a lovely sound. And by that will we have been

  726. Sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once

  727. for all I apologize. I said I want to comment on it

  728. but I must buy that. We will have we have been past

  729. tense we have been Sanctified through the offering of the body

  730. of Jesus went every single day. When the priest commands it?

  731. No, once for all verse 11 and every priest stands daily at his

  732. service offering Repeatedly. The same sacrifices which can

  733. never take away sins but when Christ had offered for all time,

  734. a single sacrifice for sins. He sat down at the right hand of

  735. God waiting from that time until his enemies should be made a

  736. footstool for his feet. Hallelujah indeed.

  737. Yes, amen. Now, can you confidently?

  738. And honestly say that as you read these scriptures, can you

  739. reconcile them with What the catechism teaches can you.

  740. Can you truly? Look at these and say we need an

  741. altar. And we need priests and we need

  742. repeated sacrifices and the priest has the ability to pull

  743. Christ now from Heaven, onto Earth again.

  744. We are told here that he sat down at the right hand of God

  745. waiting from that time until his enemies should be made his

  746. footstool. Are these the same?

  747. They're not. They're not the same.

  748. Because it's a different version of the Lord's table.

  749. It's a different Christ. It's a different gospel.

  750. Whoa, brother, you got me saying, amen.

  751. And Hallelujah, few moments ago, but I understand there's

  752. differences brother but for you to make a claim that it's a

  753. different gospel. That's a very, very serious

  754. statement and I stand by it. I do stand by it.

  755. Because, although it is one offering, you have to ask the

  756. question. Why?

  757. Why is it being offered again? Why is what Christ did 2000

  758. years ago? Being re presented made present

  759. over and over and over. I won't tell you, I'll let them

  760. tell you from their own catechism, did you hear the

  761. final words of 1367? This sacrifice is truly

  762. propitiatory. It appeases it satisfies it

  763. accomplishes something. What does it accomplish while in

  764. paragraph number 1366, it's salutary power be applied to the

  765. Forgiveness of the sins. We daily commit, That's not

  766. clear enough. Let me read to you paragraph

  767. 1414. As sacrifice, the Eucharist is

  768. also offered and reparation for the sins of the living.

  769. Pay attention in reparation for the sins of the living and the

  770. dead. And to obtain spiritual and

  771. temporal benefits from God. You heard that, right?

  772. So I'm not just approaching the mass to receive forgiveness for

  773. my sins. Now, I can actually partake of

  774. the mass on behalf of somebody who has died so that they can be

  775. forgiven for their sins. Is this the Bible is this?

  776. What Christ taught? You heard this correctly?

  777. And forgive me because I'm going to give you a now, just and

  778. bullet bullet fashion quotes, because I know where this is

  779. going to go, and I want to be no mistakes.

  780. In the 22nd session of the Council of Trent.

  781. In the second chapter under that the title is the sacrifice of

  782. the mass is propitiatory both for the living and the dead.

  783. And I'm just going to read some of it.

  784. Here's what it says for appeased, by the sacrifice, the

  785. Lord, grants the grace and gift of penitence.

  786. And pardons even for the gravest crimes and sins.

  787. For the victim is one in the same.

  788. Whenever they say, victim, they mean Jesus.

  789. So in their view, Jesus is in Eternal victim.

  790. Because he's continually being sacrificed.

  791. For the victim is one in the same.

  792. The same. Now offering by the ministry of

  793. priests who then offered himself on the cross, the manor alone of

  794. offering being different, the fruits of that Bloody sacrifice.

  795. It is, Well, understood our received, most abundantly

  796. through this unbloody one. The fruits of that.

  797. Bloody sacrifice are applied and experienced in this unbloody

  798. one. I received most abundantly

  799. through this unbloody ones so far, it is the latter from

  800. derogating anyway, from the former where.

  801. For, according to the tradition of the Apostles.

  802. This is where I want you to pay attention.

  803. It is rightly offered, not only for the sins punishment,

  804. satisfactions and other necessities of the faithful who

  805. are living, but also for those departed in Christ, but are not

  806. yet fully purified. So if you want to come to the

  807. table and you know, loved one that claimed to believe in God

  808. but didn't really live a Christian Life, didn't really

  809. love God, where they go, they go to purgatory and so they're in

  810. purgatory, there are being purged, and if you want to

  811. accelerate that process, you can take the mass on their behalf

  812. and it would be applied to them. And you want to be upset with

  813. me. Here is the one of the Cannons

  814. under that same session. The twenty second session of the

  815. Council of Trent Cannon three. What does this mean for you?

  816. What does this mean for you? I'm almost done here.

  817. What does this mean? For those who don't believe

  818. this, if you do believe this, I hope that you come to the truth

  819. of the scriptures. If you don't believe this, What

  820. does that mean for you? I'll tell you what they say.

  821. If anyone says in Cannon, three of the second twenty second

  822. session of the Council of Trent. If anyone says that the

  823. sacrifice of the mass is only of praise and thanksgiving or that

  824. it is a mere commemoration of the sacrifice consummated on the

  825. cross, but not a propitiatory one or that it profits, him only

  826. who receives and not be offered for the living and the dead for

  827. sins, punishment, satisfactions, and other necessities.

  828. Let him be anathema. Your excommunicated, you're not

  829. part of the true church. You're not a real Christian if

  830. you don't believe that this is more than just remembering.

  831. If you don't believe that this is more than just a reason to

  832. give, thanks to God. If you don't believe that, it

  833. actually can forgive Sins, Not Just for the living but for the

  834. dead, you are anathematized. You want to get angry at me?

  835. You want to think I'm divisive? Here's the 13th session of the

  836. Council of Trent Cannon one. If anyone denies that in the

  837. sacrament of the most holy Eucharist are contained, truly

  838. really, as substantially the body and blood together with the

  839. soul and Divinity of our Lord. Jesus Christ and consequently

  840. the whole Christ but says that he is only as in a sign.

  841. If you believe that it's just the sign and you don't think

  842. it's body, blood soul and Divinity of Christ here on Earth

  843. if you don't believe that. If you only believe it's a sign

  844. of figure or Force, let him be anathema.

  845. So there's condemnation here, condemnation for those who don't

  846. believe what is being taught by the system.

  847. I can end it here but I don't want to end it with you being

  848. condemned. I don't want to end up with you

  849. leaving with that. I've quoted this verse many

  850. times and I can't help it, so forgive me.

  851. And when I was thinking about what's a way that we can end

  852. this with a final exclamation mark, that would hopefully boost

  853. your heart and rejoicing in the truth that you're in.

  854. How can you move forward from Hebrews?

  855. And maybe you have a more accurate way of ending this but

  856. I can't think of anything else other than Hebrews 10:14. for

    Hebrews 10:14

  857. buying single Sacrifice by single offering, he has

  858. perfected for all time, those who are being sanctified For by

  859. single not, a repeated, not a nun.

  860. Bloody Not by the authority of any priest.

  861. Now, by Christ coming to this Earth again, and again and again

  862. now by taking what he did 2000 years ago and Performing that

  863. sacrifice again and again, for by single offering, We have been

  864. made perfect. Amen.

  865. I appreciate your applauses, this afternoon.

  866. I appreciate your amens, I appreciate your attention.

  867. I want us to pray and how I want us to pray.

  868. I want you to join me in sincerity of your heart.

  869. Maybe you have a Roman Catholic mother father, brother, sister

  870. friend and maybe I'm sure you love them very much.

  871. Maybe this Disturbed you because in my presentation, you are

  872. thinking of them and you might have Associated what I'm saying

  873. as an attack on people that, you know, and that you see who

  874. supposedly love God and serve him.

  875. And again I'm not pointing out. People I'm pointing out this

  876. system and I'm fully aware that there are people who are in that

  877. system, even priests who don't really know what they're doing,

  878. who don't really know what the church teaches their Church

  879. teaches. I want us to pray for our

  880. family. This afternoon I this is not

  881. just some lesson to provide shock value.

  882. We want to hear this and then we want to bring our prayers to God

  883. through the mediator Christ Jesus.

  884. That God would give us an opportunity to share what we've

  885. learned in the spirit of love. And that God would Open the Eyes

  886. of those that we know and those that we don't even know to come

  887. to the truth and to embrace the Simplicity of the Gospel.

  888. Let's pray. And let's really Posh our hearts

  889. seriously and attentively. Father, we are shaken.

  890. Perhaps, we even feel a righteous indignation.

  891. But again Lord we acknowledge in your presence.

  892. We too were once lost. And we too have done and said

  893. and maybe even believe things that are contrary to your word.

  894. And so Lord, we do not sit on the high seat.

  895. Of self-righteousness this afternoon.

  896. If there's any anger, it is towards the evil one.

  897. Who is deceived many? Who seeks to viciously veiled

  898. the glory of Christ to minimize the sufficiency of the cross.

  899. To make less of what you have already done.

  900. And we thank you that your word is clear.

  901. We thank you. That we are in the truth.

  902. We pray for those who are not. We pray for those who might be

  903. uneducated unaware and even worse who are aware but believe

  904. what Rome has to say to be true. And for those who might not be a

  905. part of the Roman Catholic church, but different

  906. traditional churches that have very similar views of the

  907. Eucharist. What have mercy on them?

  908. Give us opportunity to speak kindly to them but without fear

  909. of what is true. We pray that you would convict

  910. those who are actively participating and something that

  911. you do not approve of, we pray for those, even those who claim

  912. to be Evangelical. Who don't see the differences,

  913. who don't care to see the differences.

  914. You don't see the significance of what participating in a

  915. different table actually means. Lord, we are humbled.

  916. We have much to think about but for now Lord we are humbled and

  917. grateful for all that we heard all that was accessed.

  918. Thank you, that we live in an age where these things can be

  919. accessed. So freely and quickly.

  920. Surely you are coming soon. Where your gospel is being

  921. proclaimed to the nation's, At a rate that we've never seen

  922. before. Lord, use us until you do come

  923. help us, honor you and everything, the Lord's supper

  924. and our baptism and are preaching in our daily lives,

  925. help us honor you. And again, with all that, we

  926. learn may not puff us up. May not make us.

  927. Arrogant may not make us abusive or unnecessarily offensive.

  928. Miss often us or may break us. Make me and make us more loving

  929. and compassionate and yearning for people to be saved.

  930. Lord, we say, Amen in a moment and we pray that you would

  931. receive worship even through a heavy session like this may you

  932. receive pure. Holy clean, faithful Worship in

  933. Jesus name. Amen.

  934. Amen, amen Saints, let's stand and Worship the Lord.
