All right.
-
Well, for those who don't know, Kristian, he's been, uh, coming here for a few months now, and I thought maybe we could start by you just sharing kind of the series of events that got you here and, and, you know what I mean?
-
Those, like, those two weeks, three weeks that God was doing something there, cuz it's pretty exciting.
-
John was talking about how his dad, how the Lord spoke to his dad to turn the radio on.
-
Uh, we have a similar kind of scenario here, so I want him to be able to share what happened there.
-
Uh, first Good morning, Trinity.
-
Good
-
Morning.
-
Um, well, my, uh, I've always grew up in a church, but my father was a pastor.
-
Okay.
-
And by him being a pastor, you would think that, you know, uh, he would be, you know, by going through God or whatever, you know, you would think that, you know, he would doing things Godly like, right?
-
Mm-hmm.
-
.
-
Well, he was not, and it had me question, um, about how could God let a man serve him supposedly.
-
So there couldn't be a God.
-
That's that, that that's where, how, that's where I was.
-
Right.
-
There couldn't be a God.
-
There is not a God because he has a man that is speaking the Word of God, but not doing the Word of God, if that makes any sense.
-
Yeah.
-
Okay.
-
Uh, so I didn't believe in God and to fast forward, uh, I was in a accident and, uh,, excuse me, um, I was in an accident.
-
Um, I had this beautiful 87 Chevy Z 24.
-
Had a high output motor in it, had a chip in it, had dual pipes and everything.
-
So I was good.
-
Had a system in all of that.
-
And, uh, it was raining like it is right now.
-
And I was, uh, going around the curve and being a younger guy at the time, uh, I decided to put my foot on the gas a little bit, uh, put the foot on the gas and went around the curve.
-
And actually the car flipped several times.
-
Okay.
-
Um, mind you that the windows were closed, the sun route was closed, but I was on the outside of the vehicle.
-
Okay.
-
Um, the ems or the emt, uh, said I was lucky to be alive.
-
And, uh, when I got to the hospital, um, a friend of mine who has a, his pastor came also and said, that is nothing but God.
-
He said, you are lucky to be alive.
-
Angel was watching over you.
-
And that's when I believed in God again.
-
Come on.
-
Uh, fast forward to get me to Trinity.
-
I don't know if Mickey's here or not, but I want to thank Mickey.
-
Yes.
-
Mickey Holbert.
-
Yep.
-
Um, him and I worked together at Cherokee Distributing, and he, every time we got in the truck together, all he would talk about was Trinity.
-
Trinity, Trinity talk about God, you know what I'm saying?
-
.
-
Um, but, uh,, um, on the 26th of March of last year, um, I'm, I'm also a dj, so, um, on the 26th of March of last year, haven't
-
Kind of a famous dj.
-
He won't say that he's pretty famous.
-
He's done a lot of stuff through the years.
-
And hopefully, Lord willing, when he gets his new, you know, DJ set ready, I don't know what you call it, but maybe, whatever that thing is, maybe we can have him do it here at Trinity.
-
Would that be cool?
-
?
-
That'd be awesome.
-
Yeah.
-
Um,
-
What's your DJ name?
-
Uh, Kay Swift
-
K Swift.
-
All right.
-
Like it
-
Fast, like the
-
Smoother silver Mine's T Money T Money.
-
Wow.
-
But it's not about me.
-
Go ahead.
-
But, uh, on the 26th of March, I had to do a, uh, a church event at Overcoming Believers' Church.
-
Yeah.
-
And, uh, I was, uh, playing a lot of gospel music, whatever, and, uh, every song is like, it was just speaking to me.
-
Yeah.
-
You know, like every song, I mean, like every song that I played, like it was just speaking to me and I started crying.
-
Tears coming to my eyes, you know, and then the next day, which is the 27th was on a Sunday, I had to do what they called praise in the parking lot right off of, uh, Magnolia.
-
And, uh, had several pastors come, and the sermons that the pastor was giving, just, it just like, hit me and hit me and hitting me.
-
And, uh, it's one particular one, um, that a pastor said that you can't pass.
-
God, you can't pass him, you can't get away from him.
-
He's always going to be there no matter what.
-
And, uh, of course, I had tears and stuff come to my eyes.
-
And so that Monday, which was the 28th, guess who I'm in the truck with, Mickey Hobert,
-
Mickey Hobert.
-
And I started telling him about what happened in the weekend.
-
And he st you know, we started going back and forth.
-
He said, you know what, you need to come to men grilling meet on April the first
-
.
-
So he said, you know, if you know, you can bring people what you want to.
-
So I brought my son, which I think a lot of you have met my son David.
-
Yeah, yeah.
-
Um, and it was just, it, it, it wasn't like, you know, when I, when I came here that, that Friday, um, it was like I was just embraced.
-
Yeah.
-
And I was so happy to, uh, to be around people of God.
-
And it just, it just, it changed my whole perspective about a lot of different things.
-
And not too long after that, I gave my life back to Christ.
-
Yes.
-
Amen.
-
Now I can say that I'm a new creature in God.
-
Come on.
-
I'm not new.
-
I'm renewed.
-
Yes.
-
Okay.
-
Amen.
-
And so I just want to thank God for the things that he's done because, uh, I can go and say at one point in time I was homeless.
-
Yep.
-
And that was during my, that was last year.
-
Yes.
-
Yeah.
-
So I was homeless.
-
Uh, I went through a lot of different things, but I asked God for two things,
-
Peace
-
And happiness.
-
Yeah.
-
And ever since I gave my life back to Christ, I've gotten some peace.
-
Yes.
-
And I've gotten some happiness.
-
Yes.
-
And so I'm just thankful for the things that he's doing in my life.
-
Of course, none, none of us are perfect.
-
I'm not perfect.
-
None of us are, but I'm just thankful for the things that he continuously doing in my life.
-
And with the help of Pastor Tyler Derrick Scott, I want to thank you guys because I have a place to stay now.
-
Yes.
-
Amen.
-
Thank the Lord.
-
That's because of you, all of you.
-
Yeah.
-
Amen.
-
Um, but it don't stop there.
-
I'm, I'm, uh, I, I have joint custody of my son, so, um, right now I'm somewhere getting close to being approved for an actual two bedroom place so I can keep custody of my son.
-
So Yes,
-
Uh, amen.
-
Come on, let's pray for that.
-
Yep.
-
But I want to thank all y'all because, uh, most of the people that I've met here at Trinity, um, have been nothing but just great to me.
-
And it's been like a family.
-
Y'all have accepted me, and I greatly appreciate that.
-
Yes.
-
So, yeah, that's, it's amazing.
-
And, and just to kind of follow up on the story with your dad, I know that in his latter days that, uh, something happened there between you.
-
Do you want to share?
-
Uh, yeah.
-
We, um, at a, at a funeral reunion, um, my mother who's no longer with, she's been gone, she's been gone just a little bit over a year now.
-
Um, she, uh, she came to me and told me, she said, you need to forgive your father because like I said, my dog, my father thought a lot of things when I was a kid.
-
Okay.
-
And that, that reverts back to how could a man do all these things and still serve God, you know what I mean?
-
So, um, but me, me and my father, we had a talk at our family reunion, uh, we hugged and we, before he passed, three years before he passed, we built a relationship.
-
And I'm thankful for that.
-
Thank
-
You Lord.
-
Amen.
-
Amen.
-
Yeah.
-
And I'm just thankful for my friendship with Christian that's growing.
-
Um, he and Mickey and I are in a triad together.
-
Um, and but also just want to say that these connect groups that we put together, community groups that we put together, this is a type of thing that we believe God wants to do more and more.
-
Because it's not about a number, it's about a person.
-
It's about people.
-
And Christian is an example of the faithfulness of God.
-
We happen to be the vessel that God used, but God was the one who did the work with Christian and is continuing to do the work.
-
He was baptized here not long ago as well.
-
And we're so grateful for that.
-
And man, there's just a, it's just a joy to understand again, the goodness of God.
-
The goodness of God.
-
God's got a call on this young man's life, and I'm not sure exactly what all is gonna come from it, but I'm excited and I just want to be near him.
-
You know, I want to be there when, when, when we're like Carmen and we're, we're in the stadiums and there's, I'm, I'm only
-
Dunno who Carmen is.
-
Oh, when we're in, when Justin Timber, I don't know.
-
Yeah.
-
.
-
No.
-
I just love the fact that, um, that God cares enough about somebody who's been hurt by the church, hurt by their dad, hurt by their pastor, which is my story as well.
-
That all of those things that God can turn it around because we're not, we're not serving a man.
-
We're not serving a denomination.
-
We're not serving a church.
-
We're serving God.
-
And I always say this to people, if you follow me around long enough, I'm gonna disappoint you.
-
And it's not that I'm trying to disappoint you, but I'm not perfect.
-
I make mistakes.
-
But here's the thing that I say, also, if you see anything of Jesus in me, and I know Christian would say the same thing, if you see anything of Jesus in us, follow that.
-
Follow Him.
-
Because he will never leave your forsake you.
-
He'll never, uh, give up on you.
-
Right.
-
And, uh, so I just, I I thank you my friend for being willing to share this.
-
And is there anything else you'd like to, to,
-
To say?
-
Oh, yeah.
-
I say this to Derek, uh, a long time ago, and he was like, you know, that's a sermon.
-
But I said, you may think that God is second
-
Right.
-
Second.
-
Yeah.
-
But he's always been first.
-
Yeah.
-
So I just want to thank you.
-
Yeah.
-
Thank
-
You.
-
Can, can we pray together?
-
Yes, sir.
-
All right.
-
Let's stand.
-
Why don't you pray for, um, the people that do you feel comfortable praying?
-
Okay.
-
I, I try.
-
Okay.
-
I'll help you wherever we need it.
-
You don't even have to use a mic.
-
Just pray for the guys like you out there and ladies like you out there that need Jesus.
-
Thank you, Lord.
-
Let's stand and pray together.
-
We'll finish.
-
Just reach out to the Lord for somebody in your life that's in a similar place.
-
It's a similar story.
-
Lord, we just pray right now in Jesus' name.
-
We thank you for Christian.
-
Lord, we pray that you would continue to do the good work that you've begun in Him.
-
We pray, Lord, that whatever your will is, that it will be accomplished in your timing.
-
We do pray, Lord, that you would open up this housing situation for him.
-
That he would be able to have a comfortable place for himself and his son and his daughter, Lord, to be able to spend time together.
-
We do pray that you continue to cause him to grow and develop into the person that you desire for him to be as a follower of Jesus.
-
And Lord, we pray, we cry out to you for men and women and children just like Christian that have similar stories.
-
Lord, would you reach down from heaven just like you did for him?
-
Would you pour out your spirit and awaken those who are, who are so lost, lost in this world, lost in the world of sin and devastation and destruction who are broken not in a way that is healthy but broken because of the, the shambles of the life that they're living.
-
And Father, we pray in Jesus' name that you would intervene, that you would move, that you would save and restore every single one Lord God, that you desire to be a part of your family.
-
We pray for the prodigals in this house.
-
We ask, Lord God, that this would be a year of prodigals returning to Jesus Christ with all of their hearts, soul, mind, and strength.
-
And Lord, I pray in Jesus' name that you empower each of us to share our stories, our testimony, just like John and Christian did with us here this morning.
-
We give it, we give ourselves to you new and fresh.
-
We thank you that you are the one who renews us in Jesus name.
-
Amen.
-
Amen.
-
Amen.
-
I'm gonna ask that the prayer team, uh, like I pray, and you know, sometimes I know you say what come from the heart, but I've already been the type of person that prayed alone.
-
Yep.
-
You know, to myself.
-
But I pray for people just that I don't really say it out loud.
-
That's something that I would ask God to help me with because uh, that's something that I need.
-
And I also want to thank, um, Melissa Wortley and Gail Wortley, uh, for the things that they did for me also.
-
Yes.
-
Amen.
-
Amen.
-
All right.
-
Do you want to just bless him on the way out?
-
Just say, Hey, God bless you all.
-
Amen,.
-
Good job, buddy.
-
Love you man.
