1 Corinthians 1 · chapter mention

Um, this is the revelation of God in

Christ,

revelation from the Trinity, from the

Godhead.

We saw some of that this morning

in this message.

The Bible has things like like in Christ

uh the fullness of Christ

verses that Mike read over there in

Ephesians talks about the fullness of

Christ and the fact that we're in

Christ. So everything is in him

when it comes to our salvation.

And Paul's constantly, the New Testament

is constantly reminding us of that

and learning that. And here in 1

1 Corinthians 1 · chapter mention

Corinthians chapter 1, after Paul wrote

to them about not glorying in the flesh

and not glorying in man's wisdom,

um, but uh, leaning to God,

humbling ourselves as we come to Christ

for our salvation.

And God says here in verse 29 of 1

Corinthians

that no flesh should glory in his

presence. That's one of the reasons why

things are the way they are. God,

Adam and and the devil um were caught up

in pride.

That's pulled them away from God, trying

to be something else or something more

and not listening to God. And now as we

come back, the salvation that God has

provided is is in a way that no flesh is

going to glory in his presence.

But that's okay because of him. Are you

in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto

us wisdom, righteousness,

sanctification,

and redemption. All those things and

more are now ours, ours because of the

person of Christ.

So that's the question now. Are we in

Christ or are we not in Christ? That's

the thing that that Paul talks about

throughout the New Testament. Those who

are in Christ have been made a new

creation.

So the Bible tells us where these things

are and where these things can be found.

And here we see in Christ Jesus,

you know, God has made us. We didn't

make ourselves. It's something that God

has done. He made us all these things

that according to uh according as it is

written, he that glories, let him glory

in the Lord that no flesh should glory

in his presence. So all these things are

in Christ. And then Paul goes on to talk

about uh that here in chapter 2. He

says, "And I, brethren, when I came to

you, I came not with the excellency of

speech

uh of wisdom or declaring unto you the

testimony of God, for I determined not

to know anything among you except Jesus

Christ and him crucified." So that that

was what Paul focused on. And that's

what Paul zero wrote in on of the gospel

of Christ that everything is in him

Jesus crucified

um for us.

And then he says over in verse 16 of

chapter 2

he says for who he has known the mind of

the Lord that he may instruct him. We

have the mind of Christ. So even our

mind now is a gift from God that comes

to us through Christ.

So, we try to understand what those

things are. Um, these great gifts that

we have that have come to us in Christ.

And we want to make sure we're on the

right foundation. Paul says that over

there, for other foundation can no man

lay than that which is laid, which is

Jesus Christ. So the gifts that we have,

the gifts that gift of salvation that

God's given to us, the gifts that we

have in the church, you know, everything

we need to live, the Bible says it all

comes to us in Christ. And then we spend

the rest of our lives trying to

understand what that is and you know

what that means. And Paul started out

that list there of all the things that

that we have or the wisdom of God. We

have the wisdom of God in Christ. So

that's why we study the the word of God.

Turn over to Ephesians

Ephesians 1 · chapter mention

chapter 1.

There was a very old church creed that

said, "The Father is God, the Son is

God, the Spirit is God. Yet not three

gods but one."

So those three gods are united in our

salvation.

And there are things that God the Father

did. There are things that God the Son

did. And there are things that the Holy

Spirit has done.

So, you know, we have we have these

things in here. So, God is as we look

this morning, it's you know, God's

personality, God's personhood, who he

is.

And you know, the father is not

different than the son. They're united.

the Son and the Holy Spirit, they're not

different. They're united as well.

But then John, remember that verse that

said the spirit when he comes is going

to speak of Christ when he gets here.

He's going to glorify Christ. He's going

to magnify Christ. So this the Holy

Spirit knows everything is in Christ

when it comes to our salvation.

in this chapter here in Ephesians

Ephesians 1 · chapter mention

chapter 1. This is this is a great

chapter. You guys know that one of my

favorites in in in the whole Bible.

Uh this chapter is just like like a

couple of chapters in Romans. Just done

so much for me as a Christian to see

these things. And um it it goes on here

for 23 verses. This is the longest

sentence um in the in the New Testament.

Uh and he he goes over to verse 14. Then

there's a little break wherefore, but

for 14 verses, Paul goes on about all

these wonderful things. And uh we could

pull each one of them out of there and

look at them individually, but but uh he

he starts off by saying in verse three,

"Blessed be God the Father of our Lord

Jesus Christ. He's blessed us with all

spiritual blessings in heavenly places

in Christ."

So two great things here where they

really count, which is heaven, and where

where we can find them in Christ.

And then Paul goes on here about, you

know, how great uh Christ is and how

great this salvation is and um all these

things that we might trust Christ. He

says in verse 12 that we should be the

praise and the glory who first trusted

in Christ.

So our faith is where the new birth

comes. Our faith is where uh God gives

us this gift of salvation for us uh to

have. And then this chapter wraps up by

s, you know, saying Jesus is, you know,

he's going to be above everything. Uh,

and everything has been put under his

feet,

you know, since he's come to earth and

died for our sins. And he's defeated the

works of the devil. He's defeated the

world. He's defeated sin.

That's what Psalm 110 says. That that

talk between God the Father and God the

Son.

God the Son said, "Set here until I make

all of these enemy, all your enemies

your foottool."

And then Paul tells us all those things

over in Corinthians there that Jesus has

put under the father's feet and under

his own feet. And then Ephesians says

that everything is in Christ. Everything

is in Christ for us. You know, that's

where our salvation is. you know, the

church, the head of the church. This is

the great uh letter written to the

church here uh in Ephesians. And that's

what Paul says. Everything is in Christ.

And then he starts off the book by

saying that everything is in Christ.

We're blessed with all spiritual

blessings in heavenly places in Christ.

So, you know, the the Bible asked the

question, who can forgive sin?

You know, that's back there in the

Gospels. And that's a good question to

ask. Who can forgive sin? Well, only God

can do that. And if God has forgiven us

of our sin, then you know, we can have

that forgiveness and know what that

forgiveness is. And that's who Christ

is. He's he is our forgiveness. Uh he is

the penalty in the or the payment for

our sins. Now, turn over to chapter 2

and the book of Ephesians here.

It says, "For by grace are you saved

through faith and not of yourself. It's

a gift of God."

So everything in chapter one is in

Christ. And everything in chapter one is

a gift.

Our salvation.

Um and then Paul told the Corinthians

that as he started that book of

Corinthians, our sanctification, our

redemption, our wisdom, you know, every

good and perfect gift comes from the

father of light in whom there is no

variables nor shadow of turning. So God

has given us a perfect gift, this gift

uh of eternal life in his son.

And then he goes on to say, "Not of

works lest any man should boast." And

that's what we'd be doing, wouldn't we?

Oh, I'm saved and you're not. I'm a

better man and you're not. We'd be like

the Pharisee.

But this humbles us all.

You know, there's there's none good. No,

not one. And then he says, we are his

workmanship

created in Christ Jesus. So, you know,

we've been made a new creation in Christ

once we've been born again.

And that's what we need. We need to be

born again. We need to be born from

above. We need to be born again by the

word of God.

We need to take God up on this precious

gift

uh unto good works which God has before

ordained that we should walk in them. So

that's our daily walk. And that's that's

what Ephesians this book's all about.

You know, don't go with the world, go

with Christ. you know, and he goes so

far to say as, you know, the sin and

things like that, that's that's not

Christ. That's not who he is.

And then if you will look in chapter 3

in verse 9,

so this is the duty of the church.

The the duty of the word of God is to to

tell us who God is,

give us instruction.

We'd have no Christianity without the

Bible.

And we'd have no salvation without the

Bible.

Faith comes by hearing and hearing by

the word of God. Pull the word of God

out and there's no faith. There's no

hearing. There's nothing to preach. But

with it there, that's that's where our

faith comes. That's from from uh God as

it says here through faith in God over

there in verse eight.

But here he says in verse 9 talking

about all these blessings that are in

Christ like he talked about in chapter

one all spiritual blessings in heavenly

places in Christ. So it's all they all

come to us in one place in one person

and he's God's son. You know we saw that

this morning. This is God's son who come

to earth. Um was born in a manger in

Bethlehem. Maybe you've heard of him. Uh

we just celebrated Christmas a couple

months ago. The incarnation. I just

every year I just shake my head that

God said to Mary and Joseph, "Here's my

son. Just, you know, take him and take

good care of him." Incredible.

But that's the wisdom of God. God knew

who to bring his son to. He didn't give

him to me. I probably would have lost

him. He gave him to Mary and God worked

all these things out. This is the wisdom

of God and all these things are in

Christ. When did when did people begin

to worship Jesus? Was it after his

resurrection?

You know, we have all the accounts in

the gospels when when people worshiped

him. That's what happened before that

because you remember as we talked

earlier the um the the the prostitutes

they you know she washed his feet before

uh his before he went to the cross. That

was an act of worship.

So Jesus was worshiped

you know on the earth. He didn't say oh

don't worship me. I'm not God. He did

just the opposite. He said I am God. I

am God in the flesh. So they worshiped

him. But the first time Jesus was

worshiped was not uh by the prostitute

when she put the perfume on his feet.

The first time Jesus was worshiped was

over there in Bethlehem when he was

born. Remember

the three wise men came

and what they brought gifts and they

worshiped him. That's what the Bible

says. So Jesus didn't become God after

he died.

Jesus didn't become God on the cross.

Jesus didn't become God when, you know,

when he walked on the water. He He was

already God.

That's what the word of God says. He

already existed before the foundation of

the of the world. That's the

preexistence of Christ.

He existed before he existed.

And then God said, "I I think I'll

become a man. I'll show you guys how to

pay for your sin and I'll show you guys

how to love. So that's the duty of the

church now is for us not to get

sidetracked with something else. The

duty of the church is for us to preach

this mystery which is in Christ.

And that's what Paul says here in

chapter 3:9

to make all men see I was not born a

Jew.

I know some some Jews, you know that

some of them are wonderful people,

but I'm not a Jew. I'm a Gentile.

So God sent Paul to the Gentiles. That's

us people who had no idea who God was. I

couldn't quote you. I couldn't have I

couldn't have quoted one of the um ten

commandments. Well, maybe I could have.

But if you said, "God will save you if

you can quote the Ten Commandments." I

couldn't even do that.

But I found out that I broke them all. I

I did find that out. And I did find out

that Christ, he fulfilled them all. And

he came down here. He's a friend of

sinners.

So this great mystery that God became a

man for a reason.

and he existed before he came down here

and he was worshiped when he got here by

by the magi.

That's this Christ that we have in the

Bible. That's the son of God that we

have here. That's he's a member of the

trinity. And Paul says here in verse 9

to make all men see what is the

fellowship of the mystery which from the

beginning of the ages has been hidden in

God. you know, that's where that's where

Jesus has been. He's been hidden in God

and then, you know, revealed to us uh in

these last days of the church. And and

by the way, he created all things. We

saw that this morning. So, not only did

he did he preexist, not only was he God

when he got here and he was God the

whole time he was here and he's and he's

God when he left here. He's seated at

the right hand of the father and he's

still God and he's going to come back

and everything is going to answer to

him. He's going to be above it all.

That's what the Bible says in Christ

Jesus.

Um, and he's got the kingdom. And he

says here to the intent now,

principalities and powers in heavenly

places might be known by the church, the

manifold wisdom of God. So Christ is the

manifold wisdom of God. He's the mystery

of God. In him are where all the

blessings are at. Now turn back to John

John 20 · chapter mention

This was uh

after his resurrection.

But here's how the gospels leave us.

You know, if anyone could have

challenged Jesus deity,

it should have been or could have been

the apostles. I mean, they were with him

day and night. Three and a half years.

They saw everything there was to see of

him.

If anyone could have said, "Ah, he's

just a man. Don't let him fool you." It

would have been those guys. But no, it's

just the opposite. Those guys said, "Oh,

no.

He is who he said he is."

And old Thomas, old doubting Thomas,

he's not doubting anymore.

But here in John 20,

you know the story. He wasn't there the

first Sunday night and second Sunday

night, he's there.

And uh you know what he said?

Lest I see

in his hands. Verse 25.

The other disciples therefore said unto

him, we have seen the Lord.

But he said unto them, "Except I see in

his hands the print of the nails, and I

put my finger into the print of the

nails, and I thrust my hand into his

side, I'm not going to believe."

And after 8 days, again, the disciples

were inside Thomas with them. Then came

Jesus, the door being shut. Oh, he

walked right through the door. Can't

keep a glorified Jesus out if he wants

in.

You can't keep God out if he wants in.

Only God can do this

on this earth. And Jesus said, "Peace be

unto you." He He didn't say, "Thomas,

you idiot.

Weren't you with me?

See, did you see all these things?" No,

he he doesn't say anything at all like

that. He just says, "Peace be with you."

He knows of our unbelief. He knows of

our doubts. He knows

um we need him.

Thomas, reach here your finger. Behold

my hands. Reach here your hand.

Thrust it into my side. Be not faithless

but believing. That's what we need to

do. We need to believe Jesus.

We need to believe in him for salvation.

And it doesn't stop there. We just keep

right on believing him and following him

and studying his word and seeing that

he's God. He's he he deserves

us to follow him.

And he says, "Because you have seen me,

you have believed. Blessed are they who

have not seen yet have believed." And

that's that's all of us. So this is how

Jesus leaves the apostles. You know,

they're going, "My God, my Lord and my

God." You know, they they saw him as he

was resurrected.

Turn to Acts chapter 3

Acts 3 · chapter mention

and verse 12.

Now, this is a this is a long chapter

here,

but the guys

I'm glad we have what the apostles

preached

in the New Testament in the book of

Acts. Without the book of Acts, we we

just have to make assumption. Well, what

did they do? What how did all this

happen?

But we have this account. This is this

is the church history.

It's the book of Acts. Covers about 30

years, maybe longer from start to

finish.

But there's a lot here. There's a

there's a lot that's not here. But we

have, you know, these things so we might

believe. That's what Paul says.

So God has given these things that we

might believe. Well, he here we have

Peter's second sermon

here in the book of Acts. You remember

his first one.

It was about a certain Messiah coming

out of the grave.

And now he's going to we've got another

the same Messiah. He's come out of the

grave.

But look here how Peter ties it to the

Old Testament.

So that's what we need to do. This is

greater. You know, we have all these

great New Testament verses, but you

know, these guys didn't have a New

Testament to lay hold of yet. It was

still in in uh it was still in progress.

But Peter saw verse 12,

and he said to the men, "You men of

Israel, why marvel you you at this? Why

you look so earnestly upon us?

as we by our own power or holiness made

this man walk.

That was a miracle.

Peter gets down now and talks about God

and his word.

And he says, "The God of Abraham, Isaac,

Jacob, the God of our fathers has

glorified his son Jesus."

So Peter's saying, "I I spent three and

a half years with him. Believe me when I

tell you he is the son of God. He's the

Messiah. He's the one we've been waiting

on. He's the promised one.

And then Peter ties it back to Abraham

and Isaac and Jacob and those who went

before him. And he says, "Whom we

delivered up and denied in the presence

of Pilate when he was determined to let

him go. You denied the holy one and the

just. That's Jesus.

He Peter calls him the holy one. He

lived with him three and a half years.

Never saw any sin. Not one time.

The holy one. The just one. And you

desired a murderer to be granted unto

you. What a trade.

I He God should have sent us all to hell

right there.

We're taking a murderer over your son,

God.

God, thank God he's longsuffering. Thank

God

um he is gracious.

And he says, "You killed the prince of

life

who God has raised from the dead of

which we are witnesses." You see what

Peter does?

We witnessed the word of God being

fulfilled. We saw We saw him do it.

and his name through faith in his name

has this man been made strong. So now

he's back to faith. Now he's back to

salvation.

This is what uh Nicodemus didn't know.

We must be born again.

And he says, "Yay, the faith uh which is

by him, he has given him this perfect

soundness in the presence of you all.

And now, brethren, I know that through

ignorance you did it, as also did the

rulers, the rulers. But those things

which God before had shown by the mouth

of all the prophets, see what Peter

does, he's there in the Old Testament,

all the messianic psalms,

um

you know, all the prophets, Moses,

David,

everyone pointed to Jesus.

And then what Jesus do after he rose

from the dead on the road to Emmas?

He took them back to the psalms. He took

them back um to the prophets. And it

said, "Yeah, these things are written of

me."

And then he goes on to say here um

that Christ should suffer and so be

fulfilled. Now there's where they had

the problem.

They didn't want a savior to suffer.

That means we got we have a sin problem.

You know, they wanted a kingdom. They

didn't want a savior. Well, we can't

have a kingdom without a savior.

Now we have a savior. Now we can have a

kingdom.

He's been ro he's been he's been risen

from the dead. So that's, you know, what

Paul's going to or excuse me, Peter's

going to do here. Repent therefore and

be converted that your sins may be

blotted out. What?

So that's why he died.

So that's who he is. The son of God, the

son Jesus, the one that we crucified,

the holy one, the just one, the one we

want to put our faith in.

That's what Peter says here. When the

times of refreshing shall come in the

presence of the Lord, it's not over. You

guys didn't Our unbelief cannot stop

God's program.

That Paul tells the Roman tells us in

Roman, our unbelief can't stop God's

program. Their unbelief, it didn't stop

God's program. It just helped fulfill um

some prophecies here.

You know they he goes on he says and he

shall send Jesus Christ

who before was preached unto you. That

was him. He was here. He was born in

Bethlehem. He run all over Galilee. All

the miracles that he did, all the

messages that he preached, all the all

the teaching, all the truth that he

brought him is the one you guys

crucified who the father must receive

until the time of restitution.

And he has spoken by the mouth of all

his holy prophets since the age began.

So here Peter says everyone in the Old

Testament, it's him. That's him. That's

him.

Hear ye him. That's what happened on the

mount of transfiguration.

Peter wanted to build a couple boos,

remember? And the father said, "No, this

is my beloved son. Hear him." So now

God's put everything in his son. Now,

not that we should ignore those prophets

and everything else, but we should know

that all the prophets are pointing to

Christ, the one we're blessed in, as

Ephesians says.

And he goes on here and he says, "Whom

uh well, I'm sorry, verse 22." For Moses

truly said to the fathers, "A prophet

shall the Lord your God raise up unto

you of your brethren." He's Peter's

further reminding them

of what the Bible said about Jesus of

Nazareth.

He he he was a Jew. Remember,

God's going to bring the Messiah through

the Jewish lineage. He's going to be a

Jew. Don't you guys remember?

It shall come to pass that every soul

who will not hear the prophet shall be

destroyed from among the people.

So, not only is he is he the one the

Messiah, but those who don't listen and

those who won't uh hear him um as the

prophet as the savior that God has sent

to us are in serious trouble.

Yay. And all the prophets from Samuel

and all those that follow after many as

were spoken have likewise foretold these

days.

So

Peter says the whole Old Testament

points to this what just happened back

there in Jerusalem.

You are the sons of the prophets and the

covenants which God made with your

fathers

saying Abraham in thy seed will all

kindreds of the earth be blessed.

Another Bible verse

and a good one. Gentiles, God said, "You

Gentiles are going to be blessed

because of my son. He's going to pay for

your sin." And and I God says, "I'll

make sure you know him because I'm going

to send you my word and I'm going to

send you the truth

unto you." First, God having raised up

his son

sent him to bless you and turning you

away from all of your iniquities. So,

we're not in trouble with God for

crucifying his son.

You know, that's way back there. And

yeah, we had something to do with it.

The whole human race had something to do

with it. It wasn't just the Romans. It

wasn't just the Jews. It was the whole

human race. Every one of us. Jesus had

to die for our sins.

Every one of us need a savior and a

redeemer. All of us have iniquities.

All of us have these problems here that

he speaks of. And this person, Christ,

that God sent um to take away our sins.

It's it's all in him. He did it all.

So that's what God has given us for the

foundation of the church.

That's what Paul told the Corinthians.

That's the foundation that you were on.

That's the foundation that we are on.

We We don't want to leave this

foundation

that God sent his son

to die for our sins according to the

scriptures to redeem us to blot out our

sins that we might have eternal life.

and uh be blessed in in every way as he

says there in verse 26.

So turn over to chapter 4

and verse 27

Acts chapter 4.

Acts 4 · chapter mention

So

it's

it is in whom we believe.

That's this person Christ. That's this

person came 2,000 years ago. Fulfilled

all the Old Testament. Not all of them.

He's still got a few to go.

But don't you doubt he won't fulfill

them all. all of his warnings and all of

his promises, the good news, the bad

news, everything Jesus said is going to

come to pass. That's what Peter was

telling them to get their attention. And

here in chapter um

here in chapter 4

of Acts in verse 27.

So again it's not what we believe it's

in whom we believe. We believe in the

son of God.

We believe the fulfillment of these

prophecies.

He's not just a man.

He's the God man.

That's what the apostle saw. He come out

of the grave and the things that he told

him were true.

And here in chapter 4 in verse 27,

he says, "For a truth

against the holy child Jesus,"

you guys know who that is.

who thou has anointed

both Herod and Pontius Pilus with the

nations and the people of Israel were

gathered together. We are all there. All

the sinners, we all played a part in

crucifying him.

But look what he calls him here. Look

what Peter calls him.

He's the holy one of a true, the holy

child, Jesus who God anointed.

Verse 28, to do whatever thy hand and

thy counsel determined beforehand

to be done. And now, Lord, behold their

threatenings, and grant unto the

servants with which boldnesses they may

speak your words. Now, this this has

gotten them in trouble

because these

who were the first people they witnessed

to

people who killed Jesus.

Why? one of the reasons so we would know

and we can know that even the people

that physically killed Jesus can be

saved.

No, God didn't say no. God didn't say no

one can be saved now because of what you

did to my son or or or the Roman

soldiers can't be saved or the Jews

can't be saved who did this to my son.

No, God says come. you know, even if you

were the ones

who killed my son. And some did.

Remember the the soldiers and all those

who were around, you know, some people

believed

uh the thief on the cross,

he believed.

So he everyone that was there said,

"This is the son of God."

after they saw him uh go through these

great

sufferings for us.

But here Peter says that the the four

count the determined council of God to

be done. God said,

"Yeah, my son's going to do this. You

may not even know all about it. You may

not understand it all now, but

God determined for it to be done.

And if God hadn't determined for it to

be done, it wouldn't have got done,

but he did and it did. And now we have a

great salvation

in the person and the work

of the son of God.

And it's God's counsel. Behold our

threatenings and grant unto the servants

that with boldness we may do what? Speak

thy word.

You know, that's what needs to happen

when we

um are asked about our God. When we're

asked about our salvation, when we're

asked about these things, this is uh

this is very important. This is uh you

know, this is the top of the tier here.

We must speak the word

like they did

by stretching forth his hand to heal

and that signs and wonders may be done

by the name of thy holy child Jesus.

And when they had prayed the place

shook. When they were assembled together

they were filled with the Holy Spirit

and they spoke the word of God

great boldness.

So that's what it is to be born again.

That's what it is to be an apostle of

Jesus Christ during these days shortly

after he was crucified.

So they spoke the word to him to to them

about uh these incredible things. And

now if you will

go back to chapter 4

so we can make this determination.

If everything's in Christ, if he did it

all, he paid it all, all the blessings,

everything is in him, if he blotted out

sin, if he's if he's our savior, he's

our redeemer, he's he's God.

If all these things be true, then then

we have to say this. Look in verse 12.

of Acts 4:12.

Acts 4:12

Neither is there salvation in any other,

for there is no other name under heaven

given among men whereby we must be

saved.

We must be saved.

And God has made a way. And that's that

way is his son, his wonderful son. I'll

turn over to chapter five.

And you know that the the father, the

son, and the holy spirit, they they are

co-equal. There's nothing greater in the

father and lesser in the son or or

greater in the spirit and lesser in the

father.

That does not exist.

They're God. They're perfect in every

way. And here

um we see that the that the Holy Spirit

is holy. Here's a lesson for the church.

In chapter 5:3,

Acts 5:3, Peter said to Ananas,

Acts 5:3

"Why has Satan filled your heart to lie

to the holy spirit to keep back part of

the price of the land?" And you guys

know the story. While it remained, he

was not wasn't your own, and it was

sold. And was it not in thy own power?

Why hast thou conceived this thing in

your heart? Thou hast not lied unto men,

but unto God. So here

Peter says, God is the spirit. You know,

right after we see all these things

about the father and the son, now Paul

says here, Peter says here that they've

lied to the holy spirit. who is God,

you know, so the spirit is God as well.

And we have all the

we have all the verses in in John in the

upper room. Pastor Jim looked at some of

those this morning uh concerning the

Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

Now, turn over to the book of Hebrews,

Hebrews 10 · chapter mention

God the Father has provided our

salvation at great cost to him through

his son.

That's what this book says.

So, you know, God is not he's not

working on our redemption. He it's done.

That's what Jesus said.

It is finished. So, now we lack nothing.

You know, yeah, we have we should obey

you. They that love me, they will obey

me. You love me, obey my word. That's a

part of this. But we're not saved by

obedience. We're saved by faith.

And here in Hebrews

in chapter 10

verse 7,

there are places in the Bible where

there's

God talk,

God talking to God

and we get we get a easedrop and we get

a hear, you know, that's what happened

in in um Psalm 22.

My God and my God, why have you forsaken

me?

You know, Jesus said that very thing on

the cross.

So there we have some God talk. God

talking to God. Well, here in Hebrews

10, we have some more God talk

there in verse 7.

Then said I,

one of the members of the Trinity,

one of the members of the Godhead,

though I come in the volume

of the book, it is written of me to do

thy will God.

So the word of God is the logos of God.

You know, that's what he or excuse me,

John chapter one said.

talk more about that later.

And he says above when he said

sacrifice and offerings and burnt

offerings for sin thou wouldest not

neither had pleasure in them which were

offered by the law. We couldn't be saved

that way.

Then said I, I come to do thy will God.

There's more God talk.

So God the Son said to God the Father,

"I'll go do your will."

You saw that verse as well in John 17

this morning where Jesus said that very

thing. I come to do your will.

So God the Son come to do God the will,

God the Father's will.

And he took away the first that he could

establish the second.

Aren't you glad we're not under the law?

couldn't save us. We're all go to hell

without it.

The law can save no one. It takes Christ

to save us.

Remember the the law was a school master

to bring us to Christ.

He's our savior and our redeemer. And

then he says, "By which will we are

sanctified through the offering of the

body of Christ once." And you it says

for all, but it's it's just a one-time

event,

never to be repeated. That's how perfect

a sacrifice Christ was for our sins.

Paid for them all.

We don't have to go back and live when

he did. Or he doesn't have to come up

here and die fresh for us. That's what

the end of the chapter says. We have

forgiveness and we have it now.

We don't even need a priest. like they

did. We don't even need a tabernacle

like they did.

Every priest standing daily ministering

and offering

the same sacrifice which could never

take away sin.

That's that's that was the way it was.

The Jews had to come back every year. Oh

no, I messed up again. I got to go back.

Oh no, I messed up again. I got to go

back. Now we don't have to say, "Oh, I

messed up again. I got to go back."

Because all of our sins have been paid

for.

That's who Jesus is.

I have a savior, complete and perfect

redemption that he did and offered to

me. That's what he says. By this man,

he has offered one sacrifice for the

sins forever sat down at the right hand

of God. God's pretty pleased now.

Not me

in his son.

I couldn't pay for my sin, but he did.

And here's the here's the enemies from

Psalm 110.

He's not done. He's going to come back.

This great Jesus is going to come back.

And he's going to make uh enemies of

foot the foottool of God's enemies.

That's going to happen.

And here he mentions the Holy Spirit.

Four,

verse 14, for by one offering he

perfected forever them that are

sanctified. You can't find a verse like

that anywhere on this planet.

What?

Here it is in the word of God. For by

one offering he perfected forever them

that are sanctified.

Blood of Jesus, work of Jesus. He's not

a man. He was a man. is a man. He was

more than that. He's he's God. God died

for our sins. That's what Paul told the

Ephesian church. You've been bl bought

with the blood of God.

And then the Holy Spirit is a witness

for to us

so that our faith will stand not in the

wisdom of men but in the power of God.

You know, that's why we don't get

rattled. That's why we don't get shaken

because our faith rests in the power of

God, in the word of God. I know what God

did for me. I know what Jesus did for

me. God's not going to undo this

ever.

It's what he says forever.

And the Holy Spirit's witnessed these

things for us and assured us of these

things. And here's that covenant.

this covenant that I will make with

them, sayeth the Lord, I will put my law

in their heart and in their minds I will

write it. So, here's a Gentile who has

no idea what the law said. But now I

have I I have Christ and I have the mind

of Christ. I have the word of God. And

he says here, "Your sins and iniquities

will I remember no more. They're gone."

What a perfect savior. What a perfect

sacrifice.

Now where the the remission of sin is,

there is no more offering

for sin. So what should we do? Should we

go back? Everybody head to Jerusalem.

That'd be a cool place. We don't want to

go right now.

We don't have to go back to Jerusalem at

all.

We have a church

in Athens because of this, because of

him, because of this great work.

And we assemble here. And that's what

Paul says, or I'm sorry, the writer of

Hebrews says by a new and living way, we

don't have a temple.

Um, we don't have a tabernacle. We don't

have an altar. We have a new and a

living way which he consecrated for us

through the veil. Remember that veil

that ripped into? God did that. Not us.

God did that.

Having a high priest over the house of

God, let us draw near with a true heart

in full assurance of faith. God says,

"Come on, you sinners.

I want to show you who I am. I want to

show you what I've done for you.

And that's this great salvation we have.

We He's perfected forever them that have

been sanctified. God did this for us.

This great gift. It's a gift. Not of

works, lest any man should boast.

And having our own hearts sprinkled from

an evil conscience and our bodies washed

with pure water, we still sin.

But someday we won't.

Let us hold fast the profession of our

faith. He's back to faith. How was all

that's possible? You mean faith? Well, I

didn't say that.

God did.

God says, "You believe me. You walk by

faith. Without faith, it's impossible to

please God. But with faith, it is

possible to please God." And we put our

faith in God's son. We put our faith in

this great redemption that that's been

promised. It's what he says. For

faithful, he's promised. It's not us,

it's him.

Let us consider one another to love one

another to good works. That's what we

need to be doing here. Not forsaking the

assembling of ourselves together as a

manner of some is, but exhorting one

another and so much more to see the day

approaching. And boy is that day

approaching.

But we're where we should be. We're with

God. or in his church that his son died

for and bled for. Here is where God um

comes to to speak to our hearts and our

minds uh and bring us hope and faith uh

in these great things from his word as

we do assemble together.

Let's close in prayer.

Father, we thank you for your word and

we thank you for

this great salvation that you provided.

We've been blessed

in heavenly places in your son.

Thank you for that. Everything we need,

Father, he's provided and our faith

rests in him. and we've ceased from our

own works

that we might rest in him. And we thank

you in Jesus name. Amen.
