Um, another title here of the of the

spirit of God is the spirit of the

living God. Now, we've looked at this

one. I I'll just reference this one. It

was in 2 Corinthians chapter 3 and verse

2 Corinthians 3 · chapter mention

6. And right there, Paul made a great

contrast

between what the law could do and what

the spirit could do and what the gospel

can do. So, there's a great contrast.

That's why we're, you know, we're not

under a law, but we're under grace.

That's why we preach the gospel, and we

don't preach the law. You know, we need

the law to bring men to Christ to

condemn them, you know. So, it has its

place. But, uh, you know, God is a he he

is real, isn't he? And that's what we

want. We want to tell men he's real. We

want to preach the gospel and tell them

that God loves them and and Christ died

for them. So there was a great contrast

there between the law and and uh the

gospel.

And as well we looked at Ezekiel 37.

Remember that section there where the

God breathed and the the bones came to

life. So, another example of of the Holy

Spirit in the Old Testament accompanying

the gospel and accompanying Christ so

that we might know who God is and that

we might know the gospel. And you know,

the church is not in the Old Testament.

You know, we know that you can't find it

there

um at all. But the new birth is,

you know, the new birth is in the Old

Testament and we've seen it and we're

going to see it again today hopefully.

But, you know, that's what God wants us

to do. He wants us to go on and have a

relationship with him, you know, and and

many people, you know, that's where they

stop.

They stop when they get saved and they

they understand the gospel and they're

born again and, you know, then they

stop. They don't go on with God, you

know, that's, you know, they don't take

God serious. They don't take the word of

God serious. They don't look at, you

know, you know, going on with with God

in the Lord with the with this great

salvation that God has given to us. And

that's what Hebrews says. You know, we

woe to those who, you know, who neglect

so great a salvation.

So God doesn't want us to neglect this.

He wants us to go on. You know, it's

it's similar to you. How many people

know God as the creator?

You know, you talk to him and I talk to

him. You know, they'll agree with you,

you know, 100% that God's the creator,

but try to go into redemption. Try to go

into the cross. Try to grow into, you

know, we need to be born again. We need

to be saved. This great God has died for

us. Do you know about God's plan of

redemption? And that's where a lot of

people draw the line and say, "I want to

believe in God, but I don't want to

believe all that."

So that's what the spirit does. He takes

us deeper into the deeper things of God

that we might know what else is freely

um given to us. You know, these things

are these things are so important. I got

a good quote here from Toer.

He said, "It is scarcely possible in

most places to get anyone to attend a

meeting where the only attraction is

God."

Men just don't want to be uh bothered

with God. They don't want to be bothered

with his word. They don't want to be

bothered with salvation.

But that's what God doesn't want us to

do. He doesn't want us just to know

about creation and not go on or know

about redemption and not go on. Those

are important things uh for the Holy

Spirit to reveal to us and help us you

know to see. And you know the the

Pharisees and the Sadducees this

happened to them in the Gospels.

Remember you know Moses. Yeah. Okay.

Well yeah Moses we follow Moses. Uh yeah

David Yeah. we follow David, this Jesus,

no, we don't want to follow him. You

know, he's he's going to die and pay for

our sins. Well, we have to get past all

those things to understand this great uh

redemption plan, this great thing that

God he has done for us. It is so

important. Turn over to Romans chapter

This is a great book. This is a great

chapter.

And these are great truths here for us.

And there's quite a bit in Romans

chapter 8 about the Holy Spirit. You

want to learn more about the Holy

Spirit, just read this chapter over and

over. There's a lot here

um for us. But in chapter 8

and verse 9 here, we have two

of these names.

He says, "You're not in the flesh, but

in the spirit. If so be that the spirit

of God dwells in you. Now, if any man

have not the spirit of Christ, he is

none of his." So here Paul says the

spirit of God and the spirit of Christ

in the same verse. We can see two of

these names

um for us. And you know what a contrast

between our flesh

and the Holy Spirit.

Why why would we if we've got God in us?

If we got the spirit of God in us, we've

got a divine being in us who's going to

help us walk. He's not going to let us

live in sin, at least not, and be

comfortable.

So, that's the contrast here. We have

the spirit of God and the spirit of

Christ um dwelling within us. So, that's

what the new birth does. It it brings to

us the spirit of God. And remember, he

go back to chapter 6,

Romans,

this is still true in verse 23. The

wages of sin is death. If you're a

believer or an unbeliever,

but the gift of God

is eternal life. That's what we need

through Jesus Christ our Lord. It's a

gift. The gift of the Holy Spirit. You

know what? You know, why would we want

to go back under the flesh when God has

given to us this great gift of the Holy

Spirit?

So that's what the scripture teaches us

is that you know now we can you know

we're not under the law. You know we can

you know we can we can forget about

Moses. We got Jesus. You know what don't

do away with the law. I'm not saying

that. I'm saying you know don't follow

Moses. We've got Christ to follow. And

that's what Paul says here in Romans.

And you know that's what the scripture

teaches us for us to be like Christ,

you know, and to be like Christ, we need

the gift of the Holy Spirit. We need the

new birth. Those things are all here uh

in the book of Romans. And we need to be

adopted. And that's this great spirit of

adoption, the spirit of Christ and the

spirit of God that God has given to us.

So, you know, our our flesh is

condemned.

Our old nature is condemned. Our old

Adam is condemned. And we need the

spirit of God. And that's what Jesus

did. Remember we referenced that last

week when he was in the upper room and

they were he was together with the

apostles and he breathed on them and

said, "Receive ye the Holy Spirit."

So the breath of Jesus

was the Holy Spirit there uh in that

particular context. So

he is the answer to the dilemma that we

are in after we're saved.

uh in the in the church age upon the

church upon the nation of Israel in

Jerusalem to begin with and we have

uh it goes all the way down to verse 36.

So Acts chapter 22 vers sorry chapter 2

is where I'm at. I'm not going to read

all this

um for time sake, but

um some highlights if you will look in

verse 34,

I'm sorry, verse 33.

For therefore, being at the right hand

of God, exalted,

and having received of the Father the

promise of the Holy Spirit. So there's

there's the name of the Holy Spirit. The

promise of the Holy Spirit

and he has shed forth and you will now

see and hear for David didn't ascend

into heaven by himself.

The Lord did sit on my right hand shall

I make your enemies your foottool. Psalm

110. Therefore, let all the house of

Israel know assuredly that God has made

this same Jesus who you crucified both

Lord and Christ. And the point of this

text is the promise up there of the Holy

Spirit. That's one of my favorite ones

to remember that the Holy Spirit's a

promise. You know, he's not something

that we earn. God doesn't say, "Okay,

you you know, you guys been good boys

for a week. I'm going to give you the

Holy Spirit."

That's not the way it works. The spirit

brings faith. The spirit brings the new

birth. The spirit brings us regeneration

that we all need. And um that's who

Peter's referring to here.

And you know, we he didn't come to to

resuscitate our old flesh,

you know, under the law. No, we uh we

get a brand new start, don't we? The new

creation, the new man that Paul talks

about. So, um, the Holy Spirit is the

promise, the father, the father's

promise from the father, the promise of

the holy spirit.

There we go. So, turn over to

Philippians chapter 1.

Jesus needed the Holy Spirit.

And and and then we see that so did

Peter and so did John

and and you know the ladies, you know,

everyone that was a disciple of Jesus.

He said, "Go and wait.

Wait on the promise from the father."

There's another time that Jesus said the

promise from the father. What was the

promise from the father was and is God

the holy spirit.

And he and you're going to do what?

You're going to witness. Now, that's his

primary

uh purpose.

The father sent Jesus. Jesus died for

our sins according to the scriptures.

And now God sends the Holy Spirit to be

a witness of these things

and to work in the early church. Without

this, we wouldn't have a church.

And and that's how Jesus can say the

gates of hell will not prevail against

my church. How and why? Because every

Christian has a member of the trinity

dwelling within them. Greater is he that

is in you than he that is in the world.

So we have a member of the trinity

dwelling within us to help us

to be a witness and to know

about this salvation. And even Paul, you

know, with all his training and all his

understanding, he needed the Holy

Spirit. And he received the Holy Spirit

when he was saved. That's when the Holy

Spirit comes when we are born again.

And now here Paul sometime later in Phil

in Philippians chapter 1 in verse 19 he

says for I know that this shall turn to

my salvation through your prayers and

supply

of the spirit of Jesus Christ. There's

that. There's the There's the title

again. The spirit of Jesus Christ is

dwelling in Paul.

According to my earnest expectation and

my hope, in nothing I will be ashamed,

but that with all boldness, as always,

so now in Christ, he shall be magnified

in my body, whether by life or by death.

So here we see a real good example in

the Apostle Paul of the spirit of Jesus

Christ being in him in the ministry to

help him not to be ashamed to be bold

and and to do all these things that he's

talking about here and then he you know

his famous verse for me to live as

Christ to die is gain that's where Paul

was at uh with all these things. So he

was trusting and you know there was a

great witness in Paul.

Um and Paul was a a great proclaimer

in the early church and the reason being

was because God the Holy Spirit was upon

him to help him with the word of God and

with the gospel

and Paul was born from above like um

Jesus told Nicodemus that he needed to

be. So here we see the spirit of Christ

assisting Paul greatly in the ministry.

Turn to Galatians 4.

And like Paul told the Romans,

the spirit is in us to, you know, let us

know we've been adopted.

We're not orphans.

You know, God didn't save us and leave

us in the orphanage.

He saved us and put us in the kingdom of

his son.

And then he's put the spirit in us for a

great reason.

And here in Galatians 4

and verse 6, he says this, "Because you

are sons, who made us sons?" Did we make

ourselves sons? No. God did. Did we make

ourselves children of God? No. God did.

And he did it through the Holy Spirit.

He brought the new birth about him.

And he didn't leave us.

Um, now we can look at God in a whole

different light.

He says, "God has sent forth the spirit

of his son." There's that word. Into our

hearts crying, "Aba, Father. Wherefore

you're no more a servant

but a son. So if you know you're a son

and not a servant, it's because of the

Holy Spirit.

If you know you're an heir of God

through Christ, if you know these

things, it is the Holy Spirit that has

helped us with this. So he comes in us

and witnesses to us and and helps us see

from the word of God these things that

are freely given to us of God.

You know, salvation and the airship and

we're sons. I mean, that's, you know,

somebody used to have that list of 33

things that happened to us the moment we

were saved, you know, and that's that's

so true. There's so much happened to us

the moment

that we were saved.

and and the spirit keeps us in in the

freedom of Christ. Paul goes on over

here to say in chapter 5,

he says in verse one,

"Stand fast, therefore, in the liberty

with which Christ has made us free."

You know, Christ made us free

and and the spirit has come and helped

us understand that freedom and be not

entangled again to the yoke of bondage.

We're not under the law. Um

we are in the in the spirit and walking

in the spirit.

So if you have assurance

and the word of God

comforts you uh and and and God can

speak to you through his word and

comfort you and and and bring these

great truths to us. It's the Holy Spirit

in us that helps us to know these things

to know what Jesus accomplished,

you know, and and he we he has made us

sons. Nothing we've done and everything

he's done. And then Paul says, "Stand

fast in this in this liberty." Turn over

to Mark chapter 10.

verse 35.

You know, this is probably an an event

that

Jesus apostles wish wasn't in the Bible,

but it's here.

And if if Peter helped Mark write this

book, then Peter's writing on himself

here, telling us what happened. And you

remember what Jesus said about the

promise of the father.

you know, they they don't have the Holy

Spirit yet, but they will have the Holy

Spirit. You know, they don't know about

all the trials. They don't they don't

even know about what Jesus is going to

do yet, much less come to grips with it.

So, while Jesus is trying to explain to

them the deeper things of God, they're

worried about themselves.

And James and John, the sons of Zebedee,

came unto him, saying, 'Master, what

would we do that we might have uh that

that we would that you should do for us

whatever we desire? You know, come on,

Jesus. Jesus, just you know, give us

three wishes or just give us one wish.

And Jesus said, you you don't know what

you're asking for.

And they said unto him, "Grant that we

may sit one on the right hand and the

other on the left hand in glory." And

Jesus said unto them, "You know not what

you ask.

Can you drink the cup which I am

baptized with and the baptism with I am

baptized with?" So, you know, Jesus had

the Holy Spirit. God had a father had

already given the Holy Spirit to him.

These men had not yet received the Holy

Spirit. So here they are, you know,

wanting to be one on the right and one

on the left. And Jesus is talking about

his suffering and dying. You know,

that's what he wants them to know.

That's what he wants them to participate

in. He doesn't want them to be great. He

wants them to be servants and

proclaimers of this.

And they said, "We can." And then he

says in here in verse 39, you will

indeed drink of the cup that I drink of,

but with the baptism that I am baptized

with, will you be baptized, but to set

it on the right hand and on the left,

it's not mine to give. It will be given

to them to whom it is prepared. So Jesus

is saying, yeah, you're going to, you

know, these apostles, every one of them

suffered greatly and died for Jesus.

Little did they know then that these

things were going to happen. And when

these things happened, the Holy Spirit

came and helped them uh get through

these things. That's that was the

baptism that he was baptized with.

Um turn over to Romans chapter 1.

So the apostles had some unholy moments

there.

And you know, they tell us about these

things so that we'll know that we may

experience the same thing. Maybe we're

we're going to say what Peter said,

"Lord, not so. I'm not going to let him

kill you. I'm not going to let him

crucify you."

And then he went on to deny him.

But we need, we all need that ministry

of the Holy Spirit. Whether we're

apostles or disciples or you know then

or now things aren't different for them

and something different for us. What

they relied on we rely on. They relied

on the Holy Spirit and the word of God

and we rely on the Holy Spirit and the

word of God and one another.

But here in Romans 1:4 he says

and declared to be the son of God with

power according

to the spirit of holiness. that that

King James has a small s there, but that

should be a that's the Holy Spirit. He's

the author

of holiness. He's holy.

So the Holy Spirit is in us is that's

another name for the spirit. He's holy.

So God put the Holy Spirit in us right

next to our flesh,

you know, but that's God's gift.

And he's here to help us with these

things. Turn to First Peter chapter 1.

the spirit of God and the word of God

and prayer and the church,

you know, they made the apostles holy.

Um, they recovered from from these

things. And Paul, a murderer,

he recovered from those things.

And here Peter tells us

in verse one, Peter an apostle of Jesus

Christ to the sojourers scattered

throughout Pontius Galatia

Capadencia,

Asia and Bethia.

So you know the spirit of God is for

this is challenges for everyone.

God wants every single person that has

been born again. There's not one person

that's exempt

from growing and and being holy like

Christ.

And he says, "Elect according to the

fornowledge of God."

And he the father

and through the sanctification of the

spirit

unto obedience

and the sprinkling of the blood of Jesus

Christ, grace be on you and peace be

multiplied. Here we see that the spirit

he is the sanctifying one of the

trinity.

Remember when God the father has a will,

God the son has a will and God the holy

spirit has a will and his will is to

make us like Jesus Christ the other

member of the trinity as we obey

and uh do these things that God has laid

out for us.

Isaiah chapter 40 or excuse me, chapter

4. Isaiah chapter 4,

Isaiah 4 · chapter mention

the spirit of holiness. That was the the

last one if I didn't mention that. He is

holy and he can make us holy.

No job too tough for him.

Look at Paul. Look at Peter.

Look at these men that failed.

God, the Holy Spirit was in them. And

the word of God they had, the prayer

they had, one another, they had.

Uh here we have

the spirit

of judgment.

You know when that's what

uh Jesus said in John chapter 16.

Remember the spirit was going to come

and and that was one of the things that

Jesus said in judgment.

So

that's good.

If we saw our sin and we repented

or we repented and we saw our sin and we

believed on Christ and now we take sin

seriously

and we never before.

How could that happen? We didn't stumble

onto this. God the Holy Spirit was given

to us and sent to us by the father. the

promise from the father. And

as I said before, the church is not in

the old testament,

but the new birth is. Here's another

verse

about the new birth.

This is

this is what Nicodemus should have

known.

This is why he should have said, "Yay,

Lord, I know Isaiah 4:4, I know you

Isaiah 4:4

washed away the filth of the daughters

of Zion. You purged them by the blood of

Jerusalem from the um uh the midst of

the spirit of justice and by the spirit

of burning." So, here we see the Holy

Spirit is the spirit of justice and the

spirit of burning.

And he burns against sin

and he's in us. And that's that's what

helps us with our sin. As the Holy

Spirit doesn't like sin, he he's not

going to let us wander off in sin and

stay there.

And here we have

the uh the new birth in the Old

Testament. So the law the law is the

justice of God. You know, that's what

you know, people that think they're

going to that aren't saved

and you get a chance to talk to them and

you say, "Where you going to go when you

die?" And they say, "Heaven." You say,

"Why?" And they say, "Well, I'm a good

person." Oh, you are? Well, have you

heard about the commandments of God?

Thou shalt not steal. Thou shalt not

lie. You know, all the thou shalt not.

You know, that's the justice of God.

That's the burning of God. That's the

holiness of God.

And when we saw our sin and the Holy

Spirit helped us, you know, by the by

the goodness of God, he leads us to

repentance. That's what Romans chapter 2

says.

So the law is the justice of God. But

here we see redemption.

Here we see um the reconciliation.

And again, this is what Nicodemus should

have known. Oh, you're a teacher of

Israel and you don't know about the new

birth. It's here, Nicodemus. And right

there, we see it.

So, you know, that's what the Holy

Spirit does. It,

you know, he Paul says in Hebrews about

the searching,

you know, that's what he's talking about

here. The Holy Spirit, he searches our

minds. He searches our hearts. He

searches our conscience. He searches our

motives

and this is the spirit of justice and

the spirit

of burning. And it's a good thing. How

would you We don't want to be left to

our sin. We don't want to be left

unsaved, do we? So, you know, the Holy

Spirit is the spirit of burning, the

spirit of justice, as he says here

in uh chapter 14.

And let's go to John chapter 14.

Now we have the spirit of truth.

So when Jesus is talking about the

spirit and and the spirit's going to

come and convict us of our sins and all

those things that Jesus told them in the

upper room, these are the very verses

that indicate that was going to happen

in the Old Testament way before it

happened

in John chapter

Now I think this is one of my favorites.

the spirit of promise and and this is

the spirit of truth.

And remember what he said back there in

Isaiah chapter 11 when we started about

Isaiah 11 · chapter mention

knowledge and you know everything and

everything Jesus spoke. He's God. So

it's you know write it down.

It's uh

it's going to happen every dot jot and

tit.

And we have a lot of

red got a red letter Bible. There's a

lot here in John 14.

15 and 16 about these things. And I just

want to touch on them as we've we've

looked at some of these before, but in

John chapter 14

and verse 17 here, he Jesus calls him

the spirit of truth.

And Jesus is the logos.

The spirit is the logos helper.

So we have the logos, we have um the

spirit in us, a spirit of truth as well.

He says the world can't receive. Yeah.

He's not going to go dwell in these

these unsaved

people, but he will come to those who

are saved. He's the spirit of truth

who the world cannot receive because it

sees him not, neither knows him. No,

that's the difference. We didn't earn

something. We know God. We know God

through his son. We know God through the

new birth. We know God through Jesus.

He's the way. He's the truth. And he's

the life as he said over there.

So he's our he's our savior. He's our

redeemer.

So now God can help us with this walk

down here in this wicked world by giving

to us his word and his spirit.

And that's what he and I will not leave

you comfortless. I will come to you. So,

we're comforted by God's word. I mean,

how many times, you know, have you been

stressed out or maybe not stressed out,

but had a bad day or a bad week or a bad

month and you sat down and opened up

God's word and bingo, you heard what you

needed to hear. That's not a

coincidence.

That's the spirit in us.

That's the Holy Spirit in us. That's the

word of God before us. So God brings us

comfort through his truth. Even though

he's just and holy and and all consuming

and all searching and all those great

things that we've seen in Isaiah, God is

as well a God of comfort

and a God of truth.

Think if you will in John 15.

But when the comforter is come,

now here we have Jesus who's God calling

the spirit the comforter and he uses the

word the paricletus or whatever it is

in the Greek,

but I I better know what it is that

because that's what Jesus calls God

here, the comforter spirit.

So in English, he's the comforter. Now I

can say that now I know what he is.

And he says has come. So see he's not

here yet. He will come

and I will send him from the father even

the spirit of truth who proceeds from

the father.

He shall testify

of me and you will bear witnesses.

So that's our that's the spirits. You

know we have the father sent the and

sent the son and now here Jesus has sent

the spirit. The father has sent the

spirit and his primary function is to

testify of Jesus

and the truth

and bring us comfort.

Now turn over to chapter 16

and verse 13.

John 16:13, "Nevertheless,

John 16:13

when he, the Spirit of truth

is come,

he will guide you into all truth."

So, he's a guide. You know, the spirit,

you know, he's a guide. Don't try to go

to Alaska without a guide.

You will not make it. It's mandatory up

there. People go up there and think they

know how to hunt. They know how to go do

this and know how to do that. We did we

did well down the lower 48. Now we'll go

up here and see if we can do well. And

they find people dead up there every

spring that wandered off.

The guide up there told me, he said,

"Welcome to Alaska where everything will

kill you."

He got my attention.

And we need a guide.

We need a guide in this life. We need a

guide for everything that we do. And God

says, "I'll sign up for that." And God

gave us the Holy Spirit.

And he says, "Nevertheless, when the

Spirit of truth has come, he will guide

you into all truth.

The sufficiency of the scripture, the

sufficiency of our salvation, the

sufficiency of truth. Why do people not

listen?

He will not speak of himself. Whatever

he he will hear that he will speak and

he will show you things to come. You

know, God knows all our circumstances.

That's amazing to me.

You know, I'm amazed that he knows my

circumstances, but on top of that, he

knows yours and yours and and

everyone's, no matter where we are, if

we're a believer, no matter what we're

going through,

he's personal to Holy Spirit. And he'd

have to be God to be a person and to be

personable

like Jesus is talking about here. And

he's going to glorify me. He will

receive of mine and he will show it unto

you. He's going to guide. He's going to

teach. He's going to show all these

things that Jesus says. All things that

the father has are mine.

And we don't need anything but Jesus

when it comes to salvation.

I know we need to, you know, we need the

water baptism is important. I know

church membership is important. I know

there's a lot of things that are

important, but none of those have

anything to do with our salvation.

Our salvation was completely and totally

accomplished

by Jesus. And that's what the Holy

Spirit wants us to know

uh in these great verses. So, he's the

author of the truth. Wouldn't it be nice

to go back and talk to Mr. Lincoln after

you read one of his autobiographies?

You know, Mr. Lincoln, what did what

happened here? What happened there?

Well, I don't know if he's going to be

in heaven or not, but that's impossible

to do in this life. But not so with this

book.

We can go back and talk to the author.

We can pray to the author

and we can worship the author

of this great book that we have.

So you we've had some of the names of

the spirit of God and I'm running out of

time. Turn back to Psalm

150.

I didn't say 151 because there's only

150 for the last time I looked. Anyway,

Psalm 150. Thank you, John.

This book of Psalms is is about praising

God.

Wherever you are, whatever you're doing,

it is it is an important part of what we

do. And the the Holy Spirit plays a part

in our worship of God. How can you

worship a God that you don't know?

That's what the folks were doing in

Athens. Paul says, "You guys are

worshiping an unknown God. You don't

even know this God." And and there are

other people that only know God as

creator.

You know, well, go yeah, God's a good

creator, but boy, I can see creation.

And they they'll give him that much

credit, but they won't go any further

and say, "God's my redeemer."

Well, that's where the church is. You

know, we know God's our creator, but we

also know God is our redeemer.

He purchased us with his own blood.

He died for us to take away our sins.

If there's anybody that should

appreciate God's redemption, it should

be those who are redeemed.

And that's what verse what uh Psalm 150

here says.

Praise ye the Lord.

There's there is one psalm, every verse

is about is praise. It's this one.

Praise ye the Lord. Praise God in his

sanctuary. Praise him in the firmament

of his power. Praise him for his mighty

acts. Praise him according to his

excellent greatness. Some folks have no

clue what God's excellent greatness is.

And if you do, and I do, then we've got

a reason to praise God.

And praise him with the sound of the

trumpet. Praise him with the salty in

the heart. Praise him with the the the

tremble, the dance. And praise him with

stringed instruments and flutes. Praise

him upon the loud symbols. Praise him

upon the high sounding s symbols. Let

everything that has breath praise the

Lord. Praise ye the Lord. That's what

heaven's all about. Praising a God who

not only created the heavens and the

earth, but a God who come to earth and

died for our sins and through his blood

made us wretched sinners, clean as clean

and holy as Jesus.

Let's pray. Father, we thank you this

morning. Lord Jesus, we thank you this

morning. And Holy Spirit, we thank you

this morning for the great truths of the

scripture

and uh they bring us comfort. They bring

us hope. They bring us assurance. We

thank you for these things. Thank you

for our precious savior and this great

gift of redemption that you've given to

us filthy sinners. All our

righteousnesses are as filthy rags. We

thank you for the blood of Christ shed

for us. Help us to be a greater witness

in our own selves and in the world

around us. We pray in Jesus name.

Lord, as we go from this place,

loving you more,

trusting you more.

May the power of your love and the light

of your word shine

to a sin darkened world.
