  6. again today. We'll say a quick prayer before

  7. we begin and as we pray, join with me in praying for pastor

  29. Amen. Okay.

  30. So Here we are in Chapter 2 of tadas.

  31. We're going to be going over verses 11 and 12 this morning

  32. quick recap we've seen in taught us In the first chapter where

  33. Paul has he says, this is why I left you in Crete talking

  34. toutatis there were two, two things, two instructions that

  35. taught us was given by Paul and that those were that he would

  36. set in order and what remained to be put in order.

  37. And all the churches that Paul had established in Crete and to

  38. that, he would appoint Godly Elders in each Church.

  39. So that's that, that's the why Titus was left in Crete to up,

  40. to put in order what's left to be put in order that Paul hadn't

  41. had time to do? And to was a point Godly Elders

  42. in every Church location and we found out in the end of chapter

  43. 1, why? That's so important, because

  44. there had been some false teachings false teachers rising

  45. up. Teaching erroneous teachings,

  46. trying to get the people to follow as their word of God

  47. says, Jewish myth trying to get people to still think they have

  48. to abide by the Old Testament law, instead of Basking in the

  49. grace of Jesus. And then in Chapter 2, he gets

  50. into the teaching of sound. Sound Doctrine, and that what

  51. that meant and what that look like for men and women for the,

  52. for those that called themselves, the children of God,

  53. there in these churches, the how that the these men and women

  54. should should live. They men were to be

  55. sober-minded, they were Supposed to be self-controlled.

  56. Sound in faith, love and steadfastness and women.

  57. Likewise, he says, irreverent and their behavior, not slaves

  58. to Wine Not slanderers. And that both they were supposed

  59. to be teaching, the younger generations and then he spoke

  60. directly again to taught us that remember, Todd.

  61. It's you are the model. You are to me the model and

  62. verse in verse 7. Chapter 2, it says show

  63. yourselves and all respect to be a model of good works and in

  64. your teaching show integrity and dignity and in verse 8 it

  65. follows and sound speech that cannot be condemned.

  66. So taught us was going to be the model for these people in these

  67. churches to follow and the model for the elders that he was going

  68. to raise up in a point in these churches to follow.

  69. So that's that kind of brings us to our to our text this morning

  70. and in Titus, Chapter 2 in verse 11.

    Titus 2 chapter mention

  71. And 12 says, for the grace of God has appeared bringing

  72. salvation, for all people training us to renounce,

  73. ungodliness and worldly, passions, and to live,

  74. self-controlled upright and godly lives in the present age.

  75. So TARDIS. Had given instruction of how

  76. Christian men and women are supposed to look like what the

  77. children of God are supposed to look like last week.

  78. We heard about how we are, how we are supposed to present

  79. ourselves and conduct ourselves as as employee as employees, in

  80. our work environment. How that we're supposed to be

  81. still, you know, have that? He has as Christian men and

  82. women in the different areas of our life, whether it's at work

  83. or at school, how wherever we are stage in life that we are to

  84. be subject to those that have authority in that in, you know,

  85. workplaces and not to not to be occupied argumentative, not to

  86. not to pilfer or or steel, you know, Tha more resources from

  87. the company. But we are, it says so in.

  88. Anything it says, in verse 10, it says not pilfering, but

  89. showing all good faith. So that in everything, they may

  90. Adorn, the doctrine of God our savior.

  91. So everything that that we are to do the men and women in our

  92. workplaces, in our schools is to Adorn ourselves as children of

  93. God, that people can clearly see that.

  94. We are children of God and today in verses 11 and 12.

  95. We get into Plaque, practical application.

  96. Okay, this is what we are supposed to look like, how is

  97. this accomplished? And that's what we're going to

  98. get in. Today, in verse 11, it says, for

  99. the grace of God has appeared bringing salvation for all

  100. people, The grace of God is what makes it possible for you.

  101. And I to live out Godly lives. The main, the main point for

  102. today's lesson is through the grace of God.

  103. We have been brought close to him and have been given the

  104. ability to live Godly lives. So Tardis is has given the

  105. instruction of men and women. Two employee employee and

  106. employer relationships. How we're supposed to present

  107. ourselves how we're supposed to live in a Godly manner?

  108. How to as tadas was, put your supposed to be the model so that

  109. those that you're teaching your leading or supposed to come

  110. after you and they can model that we are supposed to be

  111. modeling after Christ in our in our, in our lives, in our homes,

  112. in our workplaces in And everywhere that we find

  113. ourselves, we are supposed to be a model of what Jesus looked

  114. like and we are able to do that through and only through the

  115. grace of God. It is not.

  116. We cannot do it on her own. We cannot do it just by trying

  117. to be good enough. It is only through the

  118. empowerment that you and I received through the grace of

  119. God. Okay, ma'am.

  120. Thank you in Second Corinthians chapter 13 verse 14.

    2 Corinthians 13:14

  121. It says, for the grace of Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the

  122. communion of the Holy Spirit. Be with you all, I love this

  123. verse because not only is it a beautiful illustration of the

  124. Trinity. It's also it reveals how each

  125. person of the Trinity relates to us.

  126. And we to them, we have the grace of Jesus because he came,

  127. he lived, he modeled and he died for our Salvation.

  128. He came and he did all that because we have the love of God,

  129. the love of God. God loved us so much that.

  130. He sent his own son to die for you and I to be that substitute

  131. that we could never be on our own.

  132. We can never be good enough. We could never do enough good

  133. things. We cannot we could never say

  134. enough. You know, he'll Mary's, we can

  135. never do you know give enough money away.

  136. We can never read our Bibles. We never pray enough to attain

  137. Justification in the eyes of Father.

  138. God. But Jesus came.

  139. Why? Because God loved us so much

  140. that he sent his son. Jesus, loved us so much that he

  141. came and he died and then the Holy Spirit loves us so much.

  142. According to James chapter 4, verse 5, that he's to the point

    James 4:5

  143. of envy and won't into fellowship with you.

  144. And I So we have, we have all three elements of the Trinity.

  145. The love of the Father, the love the sun and the love of the

  146. spirit with us all. And when you relate this back to

  147. here, you see that we have the grace of God which is all

  148. encompassed in that we have. The love of God that sent his

  149. son. We have Jesus, who has been a

  150. model Paul was was has has had the Revelation then been knocked

  151. down blinded bluntly by Jesus Christ, and sent on his mission.

  152. He whence he goes and he plants these churches and he raises up

  153. individuals like Timothy and Titus and others and he sends

  154. them out in Print out as he sends them out to to continue

  155. that Ministry to help extend a bluish and putting concrete what

  156. Paul had started. And all because of the grace of

  157. God, it says that the grace of God has done several things in

  158. these verses. The first one is says the grace

  159. of God has appeared. If you look over in your Bibles

  160. to the Book of John. Chapter number 1.

  161. The first thing, the great, the grace of God, it appeared first,

  162. John chapter 1 verse number 1. It says, in the beginning was

    John 1 chapter mention

  163. the word and the Word was with God.

  164. And the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God

  165. and all things were made through him.

  166. And without him was not anything made, that was made in him, was

  167. life, and the life was a lot of me in the line. shines in the

  168. darkness and the Darkness has not overcome it and then you

  169. skip forward to verse number 14, And it says, in the word became

  170. flesh and dwelt among us. And we have seen his glory glory

  171. as the only son from the father, full of grace and truth, John

  172. bore witness about him and cried out.

  173. This was he of whom I said, he who comes after me ranks before

  174. me because he was before me. And in verse 16, for for from

  175. his fullness, we have all received Grace upon Grace.

  176. So, here we see that Grace appeared when when Jesus came

  177. and he became flesh. Jesus appeared Jesus gave us

  178. Grace instead of law, a man. It says, in in verse 17, it

  179. says, for the law was given through Moses, Grace and Truth

  180. came through Jesus. So Moses gave us the law.

  181. He gave us rules that were to produce a state of being

  182. approved by God, but it was a continual thing that needed to

  183. be continually approved by God. There were sacrifices, that was

  184. done twice a day. One at 6:00 in the morning, one

  185. at 6:00 in the evening, to make atonement to not Let me rephrase

  186. that it was a continual sacrifice every day for the, the

  187. sins of Israel. And then on the day of

  188. atonement, the one day of the year that the high priest was

  189. allowed into the holy place, he would go in and make the

  190. atonement. And sprinkle the blood upon The

  191. Mercy Seat of Christ in the in the holiest of holies and that

  192. was to appease the Judgment of God upon Israel.

  193. Why? Because they were sinful just

  194. like you or not. You and I are sinful.

  195. We're born in, in this sinful State, according to the word of

  196. God. But just as Sin came into the

  197. World by one man, it says through Adam.

  198. Justification comes through one man, and that's Jesus Christ.

  199. Amen. So Moses gave us the law which

  200. was rules producing this state to be approved by God.

  201. But Grace is eternal, it's Everlasting, and it's once and

  202. for all amen. It's not something that has to

  203. be earned. It's not a set of rules that we

  204. have to live by about you can't do this or you're supposed to do

  205. that. One of the one of the most

  206. freeing things I ever heard. I grew up in a very legalistic

  207. home, a very legalistic Church. A very legalistic, Framework in

  208. my life and one of the most free and things I ever heard how to

  209. administer. Say this, he said quit telling

  210. people what they can't do and start telling people what they

  211. can do, because those, a lot of things that in the word of God

  212. Says, with it, what we can do, we can walk by faith.

  213. We can walk in love, we can walk in humility, we can love people.

  214. We can treat people, right? And the thing is, when we start

  215. doing all the things we Can there's less and less a pool of

  216. the things that we're not supposed to do.

  217. Amen. So it's not about rules and

  218. regulations. It's about a relationship.

  219. I know that's, you know, a cliche, but it's true.

  220. It's a relationship that you and I have with Jesus Christ.

  221. Amen. That's what gets us into this

  222. grace. That we are approved by him

  223. once. And for all it's not something

  224. that Is continual, like, the daily sacrifices, or the day of

  225. atonement. Jesus came once and he died and

  226. he died for all, and when he died the word of God says sin

  227. died. And now it's, you know, it's

  228. salvation is free, Grace is free.

  229. All we have to do is believe and accept that.

  230. Amen. Let's, let's continue this.

  231. Second thing, which I've already kind of touched on, is the grace

  232. of God, brought salvation for all people, it released us from

  233. the law. Let's look over to the Book of

  234. Romans. Now, chapter number 7.

  235. Romans chapter 7, and we're going to look at verse number 1

    Romans 7 chapter mention

  236. through 6 at the moment. It says, or do you not know

  237. Brothers for I am speaking to those who know the law that the

  238. law is binding on a person only, as long as he lives for a

  239. married woman is bound by law to her husband while he lives.

  240. But if her husband dies, she is released.

  241. She is released from the law of marriage accordingly.

  242. She will be called an adulteress if she lives with another man,

  243. while her husband is alive, but if her husband dies, she is free

  244. from that. Law and if she marries another

  245. man, she is not an adulterous likewise my brother's.

  246. You also have died to the law through the body of Christ so

  247. that you may belong to one another to him who has been

  248. raised from the dead in order that we may bear fruit for God

  249. for a while. We were living in the flesh are

  250. sinful passions aroused by the law were at work in our members

  251. to bear fruit for death. But now, we are released from

  252. the law having died to that, which held us captive.

  253. So that we serve in the new way of the spirit.

  254. And in the old way, the written law.

  255. So we no longer serve the written law because Jesus came,

  256. and he died to free us from that.

  257. Now, we can live in, in the new way of the spirit.

  258. Hey man, we live in the new way and how do we do that the grace

  259. of God? We live, we live free and in

  260. this in the spirit by the grace of God.

  261. And why, why is that, is that we may bear fruit.

  262. That verse 5, it says the work of the flesh brings death but

  263. the things of the spirit brings life, amen.

  264. So we have Salvation that they're grace of God appeared

  265. through Jesus Christ. He gave us not only his life but

  266. he gave us instruction. He gave us his model of what it

  267. is or what we are supposed to look like.

  268. And it brought salvation for all people.

  269. We are no longer under the legalistic law of the Old

  270. Testament. We are now under under grace,

  271. Jesus said in John 16 verse 7, I believe.

    John 16:7

  272. He said it is more, is more important that I go away and

  273. stay. He says, it's better for you

  274. that I leave. Because if I don't leave the

  275. Holy Spirit won't come. But if I leave, Jesus taught

  276. them when I leave, I'm going to send the spirit which was

  277. promised by my father. One version said, it's expedient

  278. dial leave. So that the spirit will come.

  279. Why? Because Jesus knew that, when he

  280. left the Holy Spirit would come, which is our helper, our

  281. comforter and went that those words.

  282. According to John 14 means the one who walks alongside so it's

  283. just as Jesus walked alongside men.

  284. Now, we have the Holy Spirit who walks alongside of us.

  285. Jesus said he was with us and will be in us.

  286. Or holy the holy spirit is our God.

  287. He is our leader. He is the one that leads us in

  288. this new way of the spirit and he does it through the

  289. sanctification process. We are Justified because what

  290. Jesus did we are Justified, we just just as, we've never

  291. sinned, we are clothed in Christ because of what he did and our

  292. acceptance of him. And when father, God looks at

  293. us, because we are clothed in Christ, he doesn't see us.

  294. He sees only cry. He doesn't see him Perfection.

  295. He sees sees Perfection. We can be a mess here on Earth.

  296. We make mistakes, we mess up, we get mad, we say things, we

  297. shouldn't we sin, but you know, Because we we are actively

  298. engaged. All he sees is Jesus.

  299. Hey man, it does it. Like Paul said, it doesn't give

  300. us a free rein to sin. Hey man, it doesn't mean we can

  301. just live any way we want, but when we accept Christ and we

  302. start that discipleship process of becoming more and more like

  303. him, like it says in 2nd Corinthians chapter 3 that we

  304. are changed into his image from glory to glory or from from you

  305. know step by step little bit by little bit with changed into the

  306. image of Jesus. We are justified in a moment.

  307. When we accept Christ, we are Justified.

  308. He sank he justifies us. Our sin is no more.

  309. He takes care of sin. But we had, we are Sanctified as

  310. we go in this new way of the spirit.

  311. According to Romans chapter 7 verse 6, it says that we now

    Romans 7:6

  312. serve in the new way of the spirit and not in the old way of

  313. the written law. So now we are Justified once and

  314. for all we don't have to continually do do the sacrifice

  315. again. Came, and he died once.

  316. And so we're Justified but every day we can get more and more

  317. like Jesus every day. We can be more and more Godly.

  318. Why? Because the grace of God, the

  319. grace of God is not just some thing that it takes in a way.

  320. Grace is an empowerment for us to walk out that salvation.

  321. Amen, the third thing that the grace of God does Is it trains

  322. us to renounce ungodliness. Let's look back over to the book

  323. of Titus child is 2:12.

    Isaiah 2:12

  324. The grace of God. It says that it trained training

  325. us to renounce ungodliness And worldly, passions.

  326. The word ungodliness means disloyalty to the king or

  327. unrighteousness by virtue of not obey and worshiping God.

  328. The word, the phrase worldly passions is desires or cravings

  329. for what is forbidden in this corrupt age.

  330. So the grace of God appeared through Jesus.

  331. The grace of God, brings us salvation.

  332. It, frees us from the written code of the law and now we are

  333. in the law of the spirit, the new way.

  334. And and as we do this, as we walk being led and guided by the

  335. Holy Spirit In Our Lady life, it helped teaches us to renounce

  336. ungodliness and worldly passions.

  337. So what is it doing? It is allowing us to become and

  338. look like the men and the women and the people of God that Todd,

  339. it's talked about here, that Paul talked about about toutatis

  340. here that we went over. Over the last few weeks, the

  341. grace of God, it appeared, it brought us salvation.

  342. And now it's starting that training process so we can look

  343. like what Todd has chapter to the men and women that you and

  344. the children of God are supposed to look like.

  345. So it's leading us that way. So the the for thing it does it

  346. trains us to live out what we're supposed to be.

  347. It says training us to renounce ungodliness and worldly,

  348. passions and to live, self-controlled upright and

  349. godly lives in the present age. Men and women, both are supposed

  350. to be self-controlled. In verse verse 2, I would have

  351. men are supposed to be self-controlled in verse 5

  352. older. Women are supposed to be

  353. self-controlled in verse six, young men are supposed to be

  354. self-controlled because most of the time young men are what

  355. Stupid. As we as we were instructed.

  356. Amen. Because and we talked about this

  357. in homegroup that that you know, older me.

  358. And when it have the ability it says here, let me find this

  359. word. It was part of sober-minded.

  360. I believe. Yes, it means the one of the

  361. words in the meaning is circumspect of, which means the

  362. ability to look at all the possible consequences.

  363. And evaluate them. Young men don't have that

  364. ability. Amen.

  365. So yeah. Young men, stupid.

  366. Yeah. And most of the time we, you

  367. know, we grow up and we're just still old and stupid, but

  368. sometimes, we don't grow that, but yeah.

  369. Men and women, young men, young women are supposed to be

  370. self-controlled. We can't do that on our self.

  371. Amen. We it says that we have not been

  372. given a spirit Fear, but of power and love.

  373. And a sound mind that second Timothy 1:7, help me out

    2 Timothy 1:7

  374. somebody. Yes, second Timothy 1, verse 7

    2 Timothy 1:7

  375. for God, has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and

  376. love and self-control. And we do this how through the

  377. spirit of God in the new way. Why, and how through the

  378. empowerment of the grace of God? So it gives us the ability to

  379. make Godly decisions to be upright.

  380. And this means to be a model just as like tadas and verse 7

  381. here in Chapter 2, he is supposed to be a model.

  382. We are supposed to be models of what Christians are supposed to

  383. look like. And the result is that we can

  384. live Godly lives and we can do it in the present age.

  385. And we do it through the grace of God.

  386. Through the grace of God, we can walk worthy in our world as we

  387. wait for our Eternal Destiny of being with Jesus forever.

  388. Amen. And well, we'll get into more

  389. that next week. So the grace of God appeared in

  390. the form of Jesus, his life, his teachings.

  391. His leadership. We have eyewitnesses that we can

  392. read what they wrote in the Bible.

  393. We have their teachings based on the teachings of Jesus, how

  394. Jesus lived. We have.

  395. The knowledge that Jesus died for us.

  396. Why? Because father God, loved us.

  397. He sent his son. We have Jesus brings us Grace

  398. because he loved us so much that he died for us and we have the

  399. Fellowship of the holy spirit because he wants he Longs, he

  400. Longs you look up, James chapter 4 and verse 5 and and study at

    James 4 chapter mention

  401. that scripture the Holy Spirit longs to the point of envying to

  402. commune with our spirit. So how do we do this?

  403. What how do we apply this to our lives?

  404. It's only in the result of closeness, you see?

  405. Jesus said in John 10:10, He gives to mission statements in

    John 10:10

  406. that verse the first one is the mission statement of Satan or

  407. adversary. He said, the thief comes only to

  408. steal kill and destroy, but I've come to give you life and life

  409. to the for life more abundantly. You have to Jesus gives us two

  410. distinct promises in his mission statement.

  411. He came to give us life salvation but he also came to

  412. give us life to the for Life abundantly it's totally up to

  413. you and I, if we allow ourselves to live in the fullness of

  414. Jesus, We can be saved. We can be justified.

  415. We can be on our way to heaven. But not, but not be living in

  416. the fullness of Christ. We can live miserable

  417. unfulfilled lives. Depressed lives. lives of

  418. frustration. If we want to.

  419. Jesus gives us the ability to be stupid if we want to. obviously,

  420. we weren't stupid enough because we brought come to him for

  421. salvation, but if he We can be as close as close to him in that

  422. in that daily walk as we want to.

  423. We can come, we can have salvation but but Jesus wants to

  424. give us so much more he wants. He wants us to live to the fall.

  425. He wants us to be that good Model A man.

  426. I mean if you live in and if you're always depressed, if you

  427. are always Melancholy. If you're always, you know, what

  428. was me? Or you always something's always

  429. wrong. How does that attract people to

  430. Christ? And I know, because I've been

  431. there. I've been there.

  432. Maybe I am. And it's only in that closeness.

  433. That we have the ability to have that really self-control to make

  434. that good Godly decisions. We should live out our lives in

  435. this self controlled manner because the grace of God that

  436. saves also instructs. So we can, we cannot truly claim

  437. to be a recipient of Saving Grace with also without also

  438. being a pupil of training Grace The grace of God appeared

  439. bringing salvation. But it also appeared to train a

  440. man. It brought us salvation.

  441. We should be ecstatic for that. But we have to, we have to live

  442. our lives and walk at our lives daily, allowing the training of

  443. Grace, amen. If we have that closeness, and

  444. which with Christ, and we can be as closer as we want to be.

  445. Jesus had had 12 disciples but only three in his inner circle.

  446. And now that three only one was was really, really close.

  447. The other 12 were one of them wasn't even really a disciple.

  448. He was just in the mix. But the other, the other, the

  449. other ones they were there, but they wouldn't allow to go in

  450. certain places certain times. He only took Peter John and

  451. James. Amen. so, We can be as close to

  452. him as we want to be we can live out our lives with self-control.

  453. We can live out our lives as a model for Christ which attracts

  454. other people to him. Amen.

  455. Amen. Saving Grace.

  456. Teaches us to say no to sin and yes to Godliness but training,

  457. Grace teaches us how to resist ungodliness and to embrace Godly

  458. and upright. Living, let's flip over to the

  459. Book of Romans, their worship team wants to come were I'm

  460. wrapping up. Book of Romans chapter number 6.

  461. We word, we read the first six verses of chapter 7 earlier and

  462. this is what led up to those verses.

  463. Romans chapter 6 verses 20 through III, it says, for when

    Romans 6:20

  464. you were slaves of sin, you were free in regard to righteousness.

  465. But what fruit will you getting at that time?

  466. From the things of which you are now ashamed for the things of

  467. the, for the end of those things is death.

  468. But now that you have been set free from sin and have become

  469. slaves of God, their fruit, you get leads to sanctification and

  470. his end. Eternal life.

  471. For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is

  472. eternal life in Christ. Jesus, our lord.

  473. The fruit is says the fruit of sin is death, and it brings

  474. shame. But the grace of God.

  475. Brings sanctification and eternal life. so, I encourage

  476. you as we have walked through of what The children of God is

  477. supposed to look like over the last few weeks, how men are

  478. supposed to conduct themselves, how women are supposed to

  479. conduct themselves, how we're supposed to conduct ourselves in

  480. the work environment to be those, those models of what a

  481. Godly person is supposed to look.

  482. Like, I encourage you to not only Embrace Saving Grace, but

  483. Embrace training, grace allow. All the Holy Spirit as you're in

  484. this new way, you're no longer under the written code.

  485. Now, you're in the new way of the spirit.

  486. I encourage you to let the Holy Spirit, teach you, and to train,

  487. you how to live in a Godly manner, in a model way that you

  488. represent Christ. And that you represent a

  489. Welcoming environment for those around you to say hey I want

  490. what you have. Amen.
