  1. Welcome to New Life Community Church this morning.

  2. Most of you guys are members here, you're part of the family

  3. but if you are visiting, my name is Jasper.

  4. On the associate pastor. Here, we welcome you, especially

  5. thanks for being here today. So what we're going to do, we

  6. have been going through a series called the law and the gospel.

  7. And we've been looking at the story of Nicodemus.

  8. Okay. Now, this is in the Book of John

    John 3 chapter mention

  9. chapter 3. So go ahead and turn there.

  10. If you've got your Bibles. And we're going to be continuing

  11. on in this this series. Okay, so today, what we're going

  12. to look at in John 3, were specifically going to focus on

  13. verse 4 and will read that in just a second.

  14. And today we're going to look at this need for some clarification

  15. and I'll explain all of that in just a moment.

  16. But go ahead and turn to me to John 3.

  17. Let's read. We're going to go ahead and

  18. start at verse one, just to kind of recap and then we'll get

  19. rolling. Okay, so John chapter 3,

    John 3 chapter mention

  20. Starting at verse 1 now, there was a man of the Pharisees named

  21. Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews. This man came to Jesus by night

  22. and said to him. Rabbi, we know that you have

  23. come from God as a teacher for no one can do these signs that

  24. you do. Unless God is with him, Jesus

  25. answered and said to him. Truly, truly, I say to you.

  26. Unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God

  27. Nicodemus. I said to him, how can a man be

  28. born when he is old? He cannot enter a second time

  29. into his mother's womb and be born, can he?

  30. Now if you're reading from the ESV which I normally do, this

  31. was the nasb. The ESV says, how can man be

  32. born when he is old? Can he enter a second time into

  33. his mother's womb and be born? So that's the verse that we're

  34. going to really camp out on today and talked about in

  35. today's sermon before we get started.

  36. Want to pray for us. So join me in prayer and then

  37. we'll get rolling. Okay.

  38. Father God we again are just thankful for today.

  39. We are thankful to be here. We're thankful to be able to

  40. worship together as Brothers and Sisters in Christ.

  41. Father, we are grateful for all you have done for us.

  42. We sing your praises today. We worship you today in this

  43. place when we pray now that as we open your word as we read it,

  44. and we look, we look at this story that you open our minds

  45. and our hearts to receive whatever it is.

  46. You want us to hear this morning, please speak through

  47. me. Please have your way in our

  48. hearts. Lord.

  49. We pray and ask it in Jesus name.

  50. Amen. Amen.

  51. So we've been going through this series, as I mentioned, Kyle has

  52. done a great job of walking us through multiple passages.

  53. We've looked at verses 1 through 3 so I'm going to give you a

  54. really really quick recap just to catch you up in case you've

  55. missed any of it, okay? So the story of Nicodemus

  56. Nicodemus was a man of the Pharisees, the ruler of the

  57. Jews. So he was the at the top of the

  58. Food chain when it came to the Pharisees.

  59. Okay. He was the leading God.

  60. He was the teacher of the Jews. He was the man, he was supposed

  61. to know it all. Have it all.

  62. Figured out he was the holiest guy around.

  63. He was the dude, right? All the way at the very, very

  64. top. He's coming to Jesus at night.

  65. So, we've talked about this in depth Y and the significance of

  66. this, but he's coming at night because he's trying to hide the

  67. fact that he's going to visit Jesus, for multiple reasons one.

  68. He knew that if he was, Seen talking to Jesus and asking

  69. Jesus things that that would make him look like he didn't

  70. know it. All he's acknowledging that

  71. Jesus is a higher teacher than he is.

  72. And so he surely didn't want other Pharisees seeing this.

  73. He also genuinely wanted to ask Jesus some things, and he was

  74. embarrassed to be seen with Jesus, so he's coming during the

  75. unknown under the cover of night to come talk to Jesus.

  76. Now, when he gets there and he talks to Jesus, right out of the

  77. gate, he calls him Rabbi, which means teacher.

  78. Okay. So, So, if he's acknowledging

  79. him as teacher, he's saying, I know you're you're higher than I

  80. am. You know, more than me, you

  81. obviously he's saying, nobody can do what you're doing, unless

  82. God is with him, unless he's from God.

  83. And so Nicodemus is acknowledging that, look your

  84. Europe here, I'm here, you're up here.

  85. And so again, that's something he wouldn't have wanted other

  86. people seeing, but he is paying homage in a sense.

  87. He's acknowledging this to Jesus.

  88. And here's what's funny. He comes to Christ.

  89. Never asks a question. He never comes to him and says,

  90. hey, how can I see the Kingdom of Heaven?

  91. He just comes and says, hey, it's obvious that you're from

  92. God. Nobody can do what you're doing

  93. unless he's from God. And as Kyle pointed out, the

  94. signs that he was doing the word for that is not just a miracle.

  95. These were has lost in put it, these were Miracles with a

  96. message, this was more than just performing healings and miracles

  97. something much bigger happening and Nicodemus is acknowledging

  98. this. And so he's saying look, I get

  99. it, you know, God you've seen God, you're something different,

  100. you're a whole new level that I don't even understand.

  101. And all he's doing is acknowledging that and Jesus

  102. tells him Man can't see the Kingdom of Heaven.

  103. Unless he is born again. Nicodemus never asked about

  104. being born again. He never asked how you see the

  105. kingdom of heaven, but Jesus goes ahead and gives him this

  106. answer anyway. Because as if you'll remember

  107. back in chapter 2, verse 25, it says that Jesus knew what was

  108. in, man. He already knew Nicodemus is

  109. hard before he ever even got there, before he ever opened his

  110. mouth. Jesus knew what was on the guy's

  111. mind and what was in his heart and what he wanted to know, he

  112. knew Nicodemus is saying like Jesus, I know you've been with

  113. God. I know you.

  114. Oh God, there's something happening here.

  115. It's something bigger than I understand and I want to know

  116. about it. I want to tell, you know, I just

  117. want to be close to it. I want to, I want to figure it

  118. out. Jesus knew that.

  119. And so he's telling him how you see the kingdom of God?

  120. So, moving on. Jesus, finally tells him, can't

  121. see the Kingdom of Heaven unless you're born again.

  122. So as Kyle pointed out last week, now this would have been

  123. shocking news for Nicodemus. Okay, now he is a man that has

  124. spent his entire life. Working his way up, okay, you

  125. hear that term and our culture, some like in the workplace or

  126. whatever, just constantly trying to work my way up the ladder up

  127. to the next rung of the ladder. So Nicodemus had worked his way

  128. all the way to the top, and Jesus is telling him you got to

  129. start over, you just got to be reborn.

  130. You got to start all the way over.

  131. So this would have just shocked him.

  132. This would have rattled him. I mean, he was all about

  133. figuring out that next level. How can I go even In further in

  134. this. And instead of there being some

  135. next-level that he didn't know about, it's down here, it's

  136. starting all the way over, like all that stuff.

  137. You've done all those accolades. All your learning, your titles,

  138. just toss it out. You got to start all the way

  139. over. And so he tells him, you can't

  140. even see the kingdom of God. Much less inner it, unless you

  141. do this, unless you're reborn, unless you are recreated as a

  142. new person. So, he tells Nicodemus.

  143. The way to see the kingdom is not to keep working your way up,

  144. but to be brought low, that's the way to be reborn to humble

  145. yourself and realize that your righteousness and all of that

  146. counts for nothing. So, how does Nicodemus respond

  147. when Jesus says this? How does he respond to this

  148. shocking news that you must be reborn?

  149. Well, that's what we're going to look at today.

  150. He answers with a question. So verse for let's read it one

  151. more time. How can man be born again?

  152. Or be born when he is old? Can he enter a second time into

  153. his mother's womb and be born? So this idea of being reborn,

  154. this would have been not only shocking but it would have been

  155. very foreign to Nicodemus. Okay, the words, like reborn and

  156. new birth and new life would have not been.

  157. Those would not have been common phrases for Nick.

  158. Okay. That's that's things that we

  159. hear a lot in our culture, we might have grown up in church

  160. hearing these terms, but he would not have heard language

  161. like this. Now, he should have been

  162. familiar with the concept to a degree.

  163. Cow pointed out last week. That as the teacher of the Jews

  164. and leading Pharisee, he should have known some Old Testament

  165. passages, like Ezekiel 36 that talk about God, giving us a new

  166. heart and a new spirit. He should have known this but

  167. it's flying right over his head, he's not recalling, he's

  168. confused whatever. But all of that is escaping him.

  169. So this idea of being reborn, this is something confusing to

  170. Nick, okay, he's not Not understanding what Jesus is

  171. talking about. So so he's asking he's not

  172. asking tell me when Jesus says, unless man is born again.

  173. He cannot see the Kingdom of Heaven.

  174. Nicodemus isn't asking, okay, what are those steps?

  175. Let me write that down. What?

  176. Step one? What?

  177. Step to tell me the process. Tell me how when he's asking,

  178. how can man be born when he's old?

  179. He's asking what are you talking about?

  180. What do you mean be born again? How is that even possible?

  181. it's like he's saying, So you want me to go find my mom?

  182. And let's go back to the hospital and try this over

  183. again. Like, is that what you're

  184. saying? I what do you mean?

  185. Be born again. He's asking Jesus.

  186. How what? Huh he's just he's not

  187. understanding. So there was this need for

  188. clarity here Nicodemus. Needed to understand what it

  189. was. Jesus was talking about when he

  190. was saying that man must be reborn if he wants to see the

  191. Kingdom of Heaven. He needed some clarification,

  192. right? He needed to clearly understand.

  193. And what Jesus is talking about. So what does it mean to be

  194. reborn? That is a question that I want

  195. us to ask and consider today. What does it mean to be reborn?

  196. How would you? How would you answer that

  197. question? If someone asked you, I want to

  198. put forward to you today as kind of my main thought here are big

  199. takeaway today. This idea to be reborn is to

  200. have your heart mind and soul. Transformed into the likeness of

  201. Christ. Now, there's a thousand

  202. different ways we could Define being reborn or being saved.

  203. That's the term. We use a lot around here is

  204. being saved. There's a thousand different

  205. ways we could word this but to try to condense it down into a

  206. Punchy way that will understand it today.

  207. That's where I'm going to land on it.

  208. So anytime you're talking about what something is or trying to

  209. define something one. Good way to help is to start out

  210. by saying what it is not. Okay?

  211. So we're going to do that really quick.

  212. Let's talk about what what being reborn is not.

  213. Okay. So again reborn same thing as

  214. being saved. That might be a way that you

  215. might understand it better. So that's what we're talking

  216. about. Okay, let's get that out of the

  217. way first. What it is not, it is not

  218. physical rebirth, okay? Nicodemus, you know uses the

  219. same analogy or same metaphor that Jesus used to ask and that

  220. be done. You talking physically.

  221. What are we talking here? We know that's not the case.

  222. Okay, so let's just get that out right out of the gate, it's not

  223. physical, okay? Being reborn is not fixing

  224. yourself up a little bit, okay? It's not taking who you are and

  225. what you are and just kind of polishing it up a bit.

  226. It's not that It is not deciding to do the right thing.

  227. It is not saying, okay, I'm going to start going to church

  228. now, that's the right thing to do.

  229. That's the good thing to do, right?

  230. That will surely, the Lord will let me into heaven.

  231. If I go to church every week, It's not putting money in a bag.

  232. It's not helping someone in need, it's not being a good

  233. person. Being reborn is none of those

  234. things. You can be the best person in

  235. the world that donates tons of money and never misses a service

  236. and not be reborn. So being reborn reborn is not

  237. just trying to clean yourself up a little and just do a lot of

  238. good things. A great example of this.

  239. Okay, just I'm just trying to kind of Drive the point home

  240. here, over the last several weeks, we've been repainting,

  241. some of the doors in the hallway to the classrooms because they

  242. desperately need it. The Paul enjoys have come and

  243. help me do this. We've painted a few doors.

  244. And so anybody that's ever painted knows that when you use

  245. a roller you have a Recover, those things are made.

  246. They are designed to absorb paint, right?

  247. That's what they're made for. And depending on what you're

  248. painting, you can have thicker ones or thinner ones and all of

  249. that, but that's what they're made to do, is soak in paint.

  250. When you get done painting with one of those things, if you

  251. don't clean that thing out really, really well.

  252. And you try to use it again, you're in a world of trouble,

  253. right? James.

  254. So you take an old roller cover that you didn't get clean.

  255. Very well that paint does, what it's supposed to do it.

  256. It's soaked in and it's going to get hard.

  257. It's going to be gross and you're going to be dipping this

  258. corn cob into some paint trying to roll with it and it's just

  259. not going to work. You have to get all the paint

  260. out or, you know, if it's a cheap roller cover just toss it

  261. and get a new one, right? So that's a really bad analogy,

  262. but I'm just trying to make the point that being reborn isn't

  263. just trying to clean ourselves up a little bit.

  264. It's not just taking what we are and putting a Fresh coat of

  265. paint on it. It's not using that old nasty

  266. roller to try to do a job. The different color.

  267. You have to understand that you as you are are not good enough.

  268. You're not good enough to earn your way into heaven.

  269. That it doesn't work like that. You're a nasty roller cover.

  270. Should he use that analogy but whatever since saturates the

  271. very fiber of who we are, okay. It penetrates to the depths to

  272. our soul in our heart and every thought every fiber of our being

  273. is sinful because of the Fall because of the Kursk.

  274. I'll cover this very well and his previous sermons.

  275. It's saturates all the way down. It's not just a little bit here.

  276. You just kind of wipe off and keep on going.

  277. It's who you are. You are a sinner by birth.

  278. So you don't need as Lawson said, and Kyle pointed out you

  279. don't need resuscitation you need a resurrection.

  280. You are dying in your sin. You are dead in your sin.

  281. Does that sound kind of familiar.

  282. Like maybe if you've read that in your Bible somewhere.

  283. Ephesians 2 says, you were dead in the trespasses and sins in

  284. which you once walked dead not dying.

  285. Not kind of a little bit, a little bit bad because of the,

  286. some of that little send stuff you are dead in your sins.

  287. Trespasses. You aren't drowning and you just

  288. need someone to throw you that life preserver.

  289. So you can grab on and you'll be okay.

  290. You don't need a little bit of assistance.

  291. You are dead in your sins. Dead beyond the dead.

  292. You're not just dead. You You've died.

  293. You you are you're not drowning. You're at the bottom of the

  294. ocean, as a pile of bones. That's how dead you are.

  295. You've been dead. It's just bones.

  296. Your skeleton. So you you are a sinner and what

  297. that sin has earned, you is eternity and a lake of fire.

  298. That's what you've earned. That's what's fair.

  299. That's what's just because God is just and fair, right?

  300. That's what you deserve. As a sinner.

  301. Born sinful. That's why we have to be reborn.

  302. That's the need. That's where the need comes in

  303. there has to be rebirth, otherwise we get what we deserve

  304. without rebirth, that's what we get, that's what we've earned.

  305. So being reborn is not just adding a few good habits to your

  306. schedule. That's not what rebirth is.

  307. So let's talk about what it is. Okay.

  308. Now let's get to the good stuff. I know that's kind of a bleak

  309. picture, but let's talk about the good part now, Is what

  310. rebirth is what it? What does it mean?

  311. Well, just like Jesus Is Telling Nick here.

  312. You have to be reborn. You have to start over.

  313. You have to be recreated into a brand new person.

  314. You cannot stay the same period the old you must die.

  315. You must be crucified with Christ just like he was

  316. crucified on that cross. So you're saying I'm not good

  317. enough. The way I am that sin has

  318. saturated every fiber of my being and I know what I am.

  319. I'm a sinner, my heart, my mind, my soul are stained with sin and

  320. I am not good enough on my own, but Jesus is He is perfect.

  321. He is righteous. He is Holy.

  322. He is all those things. Therefore, because I am not

  323. those things. And he is those things.

  324. I'm going to turn to him and say, where does my righteousness

  325. come from? Where does my goodness come

  326. from? Not for me.

  327. It has to come from him. It's not even about me anymore.

  328. I just want to be with him. I want to take on what he is on

  329. to myself. Romans 10:9 says, if you confess

    Romans 10:9

  330. with your mouth, that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart,

  331. that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved this

  332. process of acknowledging that I'm not good enough, but he is.

  333. And so, all my faith, All My Hope goes in him and what he's

  334. done on that cross. Like, you know, I don't know

  335. what it's going to be. Like, one of these days when we

  336. all get to heaven. I don't know if you're going to

  337. stand before the Pearly gate, I don't know all those details.

  338. But hypothetically, if you were Were and you got there and

  339. someone's there saying, why do you deserve to get in?

  340. It's not going to be well because I did this and this and

  341. this and this and this it's going to be.

  342. I don't deserve to get in. But Jesus is he's my Lord and my

  343. savior and his righteousness has been put on me because I trust

  344. in him. It's because of him that I

  345. should get in, not because of me.

  346. So when we do this, when we turn to him in faith acknowledging,

  347. our own sin and Trusting only in him, only in his goodness.

  348. Not, any of my works are good enough when we realized that,

  349. when we realize our sin and our depravity something starts to

  350. happen, This process of being reborn is a supernatural thing.

  351. It is it's amazing. It blows my mind when we realize

  352. our sin. And that our only hope is in

  353. Christ and that we have to, with full abandoned give ourselves to

  354. him, make me what you will use me.

  355. However, you will, I'll do whatever God I am yours, I cast

  356. myself at your feet when we do this, God's God changes us.

  357. He takes that, that nasty sin-stained soul and he makes it

  358. new. He takes those dry dead bones

  359. that I was talking about. About and he breathes new life

  360. into those bones. It is a supernatural act of God

  361. and the very essence of your being.

  362. Your soul is recreated into a New Soul.

  363. Now, the ladies have just read about this a little bit in a

  364. book that they're reading and biblical Womanhood, that talks

  365. about that. That's that's who you are right

  366. at your soul. It's not your your body and it's

  367. not your thoughts and your memories and all that.

  368. It's your soul. That's What Makes You Who You

  369. Are. and God takes that and he recreates it, you are reborn a

  370. new person, a new being, you have a new heart, a new mind, a

  371. new spirit within you the Holy Spirit within you now.

  372. Ezekiel 36:26 through 27 calls read this already.

    Ezekiel 36:26–27

  373. This is the passage Nicodemus should have known, but it says

  374. this, I will give you a new heart and a new spirit.

  375. I will put within you and I will remove the Heart of Stone from

  376. your flesh and I will give you a heart of Flesh.

  377. I will put my spirit within you and cause you to walk in my

  378. statutes and be careful to obey my rules.

  379. And then Romans 12:2 says, don't be conformed to this world but

    Romans 12:2

  380. be transformed by the renewal of your mind that by testing you

  381. may discern. What is the will of God, what is

  382. good and acceptable and perfect. So we see here, God gives us a

  383. new heart. A new spirit, our minds are

  384. transformed. And because of that we now have

  385. new thoughts, new affections, new passions, new desires.

  386. We no longer think the way we used to think, I don't act.

  387. The way I used to act. I don't talk the way I used to

  388. talk. I'm Different.

  389. I've been reborn, I'm a new person.

  390. You guys know what I'm talking about.

  391. You seen this in the hopefully in yourself, but we've seen this

  392. and people, there are some people that their conversion.

  393. Is this dramatic 180? They were man, they were really

  394. bad. And now look at them, their

  395. preacher I mean, we've all seen this, it doesn't look the same

  396. for everybody but it should be that you are a new person in

  397. Christ. Now It's therefore if anyone is

  398. in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away and

  399. behold the new has come second Corinthians 5:17.

    2 Corinthians 5:17

  400. Anyone who understands this? And as experience this

  401. understood, the depth of their sin and understood that Christ,

  402. saved them from that and made them new ought to have reason

  403. today to say, hallelujah and amen.

  404. I'm not saying that just to get a men's from you guys.

  405. I'm just saying, even if its internal like, this should be

  406. cause to Rejoice. What else in this world is there

  407. worth praising God. And singing about It's amazing.

  408. It's a supernatural thing. This is what being reborn is

  409. it's a complete change your a completely new person again just

  410. to restate it. Being reborn.

  411. What it actually means is that you are being renewed, your

  412. soul, your mind, your heart are transformed into his likeness.

  413. Now that's what being reborn is. That's what it means.

  414. And so I want to I want to ask you now as we think through how

  415. this applies to us. What I asked you.

  416. Do you do you truly understand what it means to be reborn?

  417. Do you really, do you really understand?

  418. What we mean? When we say being reborn or

  419. being saved, The I hope maybe this is helps help shed some

  420. light on it, but even if this is just been nothing, do you

  421. comprehend this? Do you get it?

  422. Or are we, are you still like Nicodemus where it's just like

  423. completely missing the point? If someone was to ask, you kind

  424. of like the Philippian, Jailer asked Paul and Silas Lee what

  425. must I do to be saved. maybe someone realizes finally, I'm a

  426. sinner and I need a savior, like, I understand I'm a sinner

  427. and I understand the penalty for that, the wages of sin is Deaf

  428. like maybe they finally get it. It finally clicks and it's not

  429. just something out there but it's in here and I understand

  430. that. Now, what do I do?

  431. What must I do to be saved? Could you could you tell them

  432. what being reborn means? Could you have that

  433. conversation? Or even more important not that

  434. I'm saying, we should all have this really great Theology and

  435. working knowledge of how to explain the step by step

  436. process, not saying that, but even more important than knowing

  437. it, have you experienced this today?

  438. Can you confidently say I'm not the person.

  439. I once was Have you been Reborn? It's the the most important

  440. question you could ever answer in your life, and it that

  441. answer, Means more than anything else.

  442. Do you understand this? Have you experienced rebirth?

  443. I always used to hear this growing up.

  444. I don't want to make anyone doubt their salvation, I get it.

  445. I don't want to do that either. I don't want to take scripture

  446. and twisted and make God loving God-fearing Christians, think

  447. that they can lose their salvation or that they're not

  448. saved. But what I do want you to do is

  449. take a long hard, look at your life, and look at the fruit in

  450. your life. Do you see good fruit?

  451. This book is pretty clear about how you can know a tree, whether

  452. it's good or bad. You look at the fruit hanging

  453. off the branches. Do you see good fruit in your

  454. life or do you see bad fruit? Have you have you crucified the

  455. old self and being reborn in a new person with a new heart?

  456. A new mind, new affections, new thoughts.

  457. Have you been resurrected to New Life?

  458. Do you have the Holy Spirit living within you?

  459. Do you walk with the Lord? Do you love God?

  460. Do you want to learn more about him?

  461. Are you hungry for his word so that you can learn more about

  462. God and learn more about. Look, there's no end to learning

  463. about God and his character right there.

  464. We, none of us. Have that figured out.

  465. We'll never figure all that out. So are you still hungry to learn

  466. more and more and more about God?

  467. And as you do, does it deepen, your faith in him?

  468. Does it make you praise him, more and more, the more you

  469. learn about how huge he is. Do you love to read your Bible?

  470. Do you love to gather with your brothers and sisters and worship

  471. once a week? Do you love to do these things

  472. that you care about these things?

  473. You desire to grow in these things?

  474. Or is all of it, just a burden. Is being here, a burden every

  475. week. Is Jesus a burden to you?

  476. Or is he your Delight? I want everybody here to be able

  477. to say with confidence. I have been reborn.

  478. I'm not the person I used to be. I love God.

  479. I cast myself at God's feet. I'm growing, I'm still learning.

  480. I still make mistakes, but I am not the person.

  481. I once was and I want to keep growing.

  482. I know that I'm Reborn. I want everybody to be able to

  483. confidently, say yesterday that I don't want you to have any

  484. doubt about that. And thus the need for clarity.

  485. That's why we must clearly understand what it means to be

  486. born again. That's why Nicodemus needed to

  487. understand what Jesus was talking about.

  488. And as we keep going in this story, Steve's going to preach

  489. next week, we're going to learn more and more about how Jesus

  490. answers this question for Nicodemus.

  491. But I want to make sure this morning.

  492. Everybody in this room has a clear understanding of what

  493. we're talking about when we say being reborn.

  494. It's not making another trip to the hospital to go.

  495. Try it over again. It's this.

  496. Have you been Reborn? So, I'm going to ask the worship

  497. team to come up. I just have a couple of last

  498. thoughts for you guys before we leave this morning.

  499. I want to challenge you guys, okay?

  500. I want to challenge everyone in here.

  501. So stay with me for three more minutes.

  502. I want to issue a challenge to you today.

  503. I want you to look at your life and look at the fruit in your

  504. life and honestly answer that question.

  505. Have I been reborn if you're in this place and you're a Believer

  506. and you can answer yes to that question.

  507. Praise God. We're about to sing.

  508. I want you to just remember that.

  509. Remember, your own salvation, your own rebirth and praise God

  510. for that. Sing out to him.

  511. Like, you haven't in a long time and remember, you're not the

  512. person you used to be and that's worth singing to him for, okay?

  513. So praise God, if that's you this morning, but if it's not,

  514. if you can't say with confidence, that that's me.

  515. If you look and you see bad fruit, I plead with you today to

  516. recognize that you are a sinner in need of rebirth, Just like

  517. Nicodemus needed rebirth. Look, he was the most righteous

  518. guy in his time. He was the man and Jesus said,

  519. you got to start over, you need to be reborn.

  520. And if that was the case for Nicodemus, that's the case for

  521. anyone in this room who's never placed their faith in Christ.

  522. Without that you will perish. And so I plead with you today,

  523. if you've never placed your faith in Christ to do, so place

  524. your trust in your, hope in him and his righteousness, not your

  525. own. You will be saved.

  526. We don't do altar calls here where I'm going to pressure, you

  527. to come down front, repeat some prayer.

  528. Just so I can say hey we had some people get saved today but

  529. I'm going to stand right down here.

  530. If anybody wants to come talk to me, I'm glad to talk about this

  531. Kyle talk about it. Alan will talk about movies up

  532. here right now but he'll talk to you after it's over.

  533. If you don't know for sure come talk to someone schedule, an

  534. appointment, come talk to us this week or something that

  535. whenever just the holy spirit is Convicting you this morning,

  536. don't just ignore that. Don't just stuff that down.

  537. I ask no big deal. I got a little emotional.

  538. No big deal though. Follow through with that, listen

  539. to the Holy Spirit. Listen to God, don't go out of

  540. this place today without knowing for sure, if you can

  541. confidently, say, I've been reborn.

  542. Amen. I mean, I love you guys.

  543. It's been good to preach this morning.

  544. Let's sing and praise. Thank God for that this morning,

  545. men. Convicting you this morning,

  546. don't just ignore that. Don't just stuff that down.

  547. I ask no big deal. I got a little emotional.

  548. No big deal though. Follow through with that, listen

  549. to the Holy Spirit. Listen to God, don't go out of

  550. this place today without knowing for sure, if you can

  551. confidently, say, I've been reborn.

  552. Amen. I mean, I love you guys.

  553. It's been good to preach this morning.

  554. Let's sing and praise. Thank God for that this morning,

  555. men.
