  1. My name's Kyle want to say thank you for being here today.

  2. If you're visiting special, thanks to you.

  3. We were going to be in Romans chapter 1 today, Romans chapter

Romans 1 chapter mention Romans 1 chapter mention

  4. 1. So if you have your Bible, you

  5. can grab it. Open it up to Romans 1.

  6. That comes to mediately after acts.

  7. Anyway, today we're getting into what, what you would call as a

  8. polemic series Tech. Sorry, not serious, but sermon.

  9. Just a one-off sermon and we're going to we're going to make a

  10. stance known today in light of what's coming next month.

  11. And so I'll start that by saying this New Life Community Church

  12. holds the position that God's word is divinely inspired that

  13. it is infallible and that it is inerrant.

  14. God's word is divinely inspired and Fallible and in Aaron's.

  15. Therefore it is the Supreme standard by which all human

  16. conduct Creeds and opinions shall be tried the Supreme

  17. standard by which all human conduct Creeds and opinions

  18. shall be tried. So, the word of God is our

  19. ultimate Authority. In other words, it is our

  20. ultimate Authority and everything on.

  21. On Earth, including our own Hearts, our own opinions, our

  22. own, wishes and desires everything on Earth.

  23. Must be Tried by it, but the world doesn't see it this way.

  24. The world thinks differently and it approaches it in a different

  25. way. The world is going to eagerly

  26. and is actively actually eagerly attempting to make God's word

  27. uninspired, to make it fallible, to make it errant question, the

  28. authority. Ultimately, what they're

  29. attempting to do, is to make God's word Irrelevant for

  30. ordering creation, ordering our lives and they're doing it by

  31. the pride of their own unbelief doing it by the pride of their

  32. own unbelief. So God's word gives us the

  33. answer to, why are these things happening?

  34. Why does the unbelieving world participate this way?

  35. Why do they play the game in this way?

  36. Why do they behave this way? This way in Romans 1:16 through

    Romans 1:16–32

  37. 32, if you would, would you stand for the reading of God's

  38. word today? When I finish reading, I'll say

  39. this is God's holy word and you will respond.

  40. Thanks, be to God. We want to show that God's word

  41. is higher than any other thought, we have here.

  42. Romans 1:16 for. I am not ashamed of the gospel

    Romans 1:16

  43. for it is the power of God, for salvation to everyone, who

  44. believes to the Jew first and also to the Greek for in it.

  45. The righteousness of God is revealed from faith for Faith as

  46. it is written. Righteous shall live by faith.

  47. For the wrath of God is revealed from Heaven against all

  48. ungodliness and unrighteousness of men who by their

  49. unrighteousness suppress the truth for what can be known

  50. about God is plain to them because God has shown it to them

  51. for his invisible attributes. Namely, his eternal power, and

  52. divine nature have been clearly perceived ever since the

  53. creation of the world. And the things that have been

  54. made. So they are without excuse verse

  55. 21 for although they knew God, they did not honor him as God or

  56. give thanks to him, but they became futile in their thinking

  57. and their foolish Hearts were darkened claiming to be wise,

  58. they became fools and exchanged, the glory of the immortal.

  59. God for images, resembling mortal man and birds and animals

  60. and creeping things. Therefore God gave them up and

  61. the lusts of their hearts to impurity to the dishonoring of

  62. their bodies among themselves because they exchanged the truth

  63. about God, for a lie and worshipped and served the

  64. creature rather than the Creator.

  65. Who is blessed forever. Amen.

  66. For this reason, verse 26, God gave them up to dishonorable

  67. passions for their women, exchanged natural relations for

  68. those that are contrary to Nature and the men likewise gave

  69. up national now Natural relations with women and were

  70. consumed with passion for one. Another men committing Shameless

  71. acts with men and receiving in themselves.

  72. The due penalty for their error. And since they did not see fit

  73. to acknowledge, God, God gave them up to a debased mind to do,

  74. what ought not to be done. They were filled with all manner

  75. of unrighteousness, evil covetousness, malice, they are

  76. full of Envy murder Strife, deceit, malice Asha sness.

  77. They are gossips slanderers. Haters of God insolent Hadi

  78. boastful, inventors of evil disobedient to parents, foolish

  79. faithless, heartless, ruthless. Though, they know God's

  80. righteous decree that those who practice such things deserve to

  81. die. They not only do them, but give

  82. approval to those who practice them.

  83. This is God's. Holy word.

  84. Thanks be to God. Let me pray for us.

  85. You have a seat Heavenly Father. We thank you for today.

  86. We thank you for your word o God.

  87. We know that it has come to us and true that it reveals to us

  88. faith for Faith. So that We might know who you

  89. are father that we might follow you and walk with you and walk

  90. in a manner, worthy of the Gospel which we've received and

  91. we thank you, Father. That the gospel is the power of

  92. God unto salvation, for all, who believe.

  93. So, father is men and women and boys and girls in here.

  94. I pray that you help us to believe wholeheartedly your

  95. gospel today or that we would trust in you and in you alone.

  96. And Lord, we pray that you would use.

  97. Use your gospel to save. Sinners to save those of whom.

  98. We once were father to relieve them, Father of their

  99. oppressions, the sin and to help them to know true Freedom In

  100. Christ Alone. Lord help us to be bold in this

  101. message. Help us to be bold.

  102. And this hour of our day of our time that we live in Lord help

  103. us to fight for truth and to stand on it.

  104. Wholeheartedly unreservedly boldly.

  105. It's in Christ's name. I pray, amen.

  106. You may be seated. Half of you had already see that

  107. half of you had not well, we'll try by the end of the service to

  108. walk together. More fully.

  109. Alright. More in unity.

  110. The unbelieving world lives by the changing tide.

  111. Of individualism. And by this changing tide, what

  112. I mean is that it can go from one place to the next very

  113. quickly just simply based on feelings and by individualism

  114. what they're doing is, they're forming their conduct, by

  115. whatever they decide is true. They form their conduct the

  116. things they do, they form their Creed's, The Things, They

  117. believe, the things they profess, and they form their

  118. opinions on what is right or wrong.

  119. The truth is, Is subject to change its subject to

  120. perspective? It's subject to the one who

  121. holds it. And not subject to God, there

  122. their Mantra, if you will their Creed, if I could write one for

  123. them would be, if it feels good to you than do it, it seems

  124. right to you, then do it. Christian's, however, must form

  125. their conduct and Creeds and their opinions by the gold

  126. standard of God's. Holy word, we must stand on

  127. Truth, our Mantra. If I could write one Forest must

  128. be what God instructs, that we shall do, what God instructs

  129. that we shall do. Another way we might sum up.

  130. What? Romans 1 is saying to us today?

  131. Is this unbelievers boast in their sins while Believers boast

  132. in their savior? Unbelievers, boast in their

  133. sins. Why Believers boast?

  134. And their savior, there is a pride of unbelief as a pride to

  135. this. This is what Paul is writing in

  136. Romans 1. It's all about the pride of the

  137. man, the pride of the person and perhaps this is not more

  138. evidence than what we were seeing regarding beliefs on

  139. marriage and sexuality and gender.

  140. The world is engaged in active combat against what God's word

  141. says. Is about marriage and sexuality

  142. and gender. The world has set itself against

  143. God's word, but this is not new. This has been going on for

  144. Millennia. One glaring example of this

  145. comes to achieve each June, one, glaring example of this comes

  146. flying in our face. Each June with pride months

  147. pride month is set aside each year.

  148. This Is How They word. It is set aside each year to

  149. promote the listen to these words.

  150. The self-affirmation dignity equality and increased

  151. visibility of the lgbtq+ community.

  152. The point of what they're saying.

  153. Is that they're taking pride in their chosen way of life, rather

  154. than filling, shame, that's literally why they call it pride

  155. month to be proud of who you are.

  156. Again, if it feels good to you then do it.

  157. Don't withhold this from yourself.

  158. They proudly say this to one another while the rest of the

  159. world cheers them on including Lately many ill-informed

  160. evangelicals many Christians, Advocates of Pride falsely

  161. believe that this is a step forward in the liberation of the

  162. lgbtq+ community. However, the scriptures are

  163. showing us here that it's simply a giant leap in further

  164. hardening, their hearts toward God and His holy word, which

  165. ironically is the only thing that promises true liberation.

  166. Ian, the only thing that promise is true salvation and so

  167. thanking they're free, they're becoming more bound becoming

  168. more and slave to their sins. So what has led men and women to

  169. do this for Millennia? It's Pride.

  170. Just good old-fashioned Pride. Romans 1:18 through 25 for the

    Romans 1:18–25

  171. wrath of God is revealed from Heaven against all ungodliness

  172. and unrighteousness of men who by their unrighteousness

  173. suppress the truth for what can be known about God is plain to

  174. them, because God has shown it to them for his invisible

  175. attributes. Namely, his eternal power, and

  176. divine nature have been clearly perceived ever since the

  177. beginning. Sorry, the creation of the world

  178. in the things that have been made.

  179. So they Without excuse for, although they knew God, they did

  180. not honor him as God or give thanks to him, but they became

  181. futile in their thinking and their foolish Hearts were

  182. darkened just rereading this and get it in our minds.

  183. Claiming to be wise, they became fools.

  184. See essence of Pride, isn't it? Claiming to be wise, they became

  185. fools and exchanged, the glory of the immortal.

  186. God for images, resembling mortal man and birds and animals

  187. and creeping things, therefore God gave them up to the Sorry

  188. God gave them up in the loft. Of their hearts to impurity to

  189. the dishonoring of their bodies among themselves.

  190. Because they exchanged the truth about God for a lie and they

  191. worshipped and served the creature rather than the

  192. Creator. Who is blessed forever, amen.

  193. So Paul is saying here that God has shown himself to the world

  194. but in creation we clearly see God's eternal power and divine

  195. nature nature or creation is a witness to the divine nature of

  196. God. It's a witness to the eternal

  197. power of God that God has created and when you look at

  198. creation it should it's meant to cause you to see that there is a

  199. creator. The world knows God because he

  200. has made himself known God does in other words God does not

  201. believe in atheists as one man has said God is not a believer

  202. in atheist, right? He's saying I have revealed

  203. myself to man they know me and so there is no one excused from

  204. this knowledge of God, God has revealed himself in creation and

  205. so from the rising and setting of the Sun to the Colorado

  206. Rockies. You can see God from the genders

  207. to the formation of a child in the womb, you can see the hand

  208. of God from the tiniest insect to the largest animal.

  209. You can see God. All of it and everything in

  210. between, which is we haven't nearly exhausted all of Creation

  211. in my poor examples there. But everything in between all of

  212. those things, testifies to the glory of God and his creation,

  213. and they Know this. Yet they suppress the truth and

  214. their unrighteousness. Now, the idea of suppression

  215. here is really, it's really interesting and it's what helps

  216. us get to the idea of apologetics and what we're after

  217. in apologetics what we're after in proclaiming the truth.

  218. So, the idea of suppression is this.

  219. It's that you're holding something down.

  220. All right. So it's summertime, maybe.

  221. Some of you have had the opportunity to be in a pool

  222. already. Maybe you've played with a beach

  223. ball in the pool, right? Right?

  224. You take a beach ball and try to push it under the water.

  225. I remember as a kid trying to sit on a ball in the water,

  226. right? And your kind of wobbly and it

  227. just pops up flies out of the pool.

  228. This is the idea of suppression is that you're pushing down,

  229. they are pushing down in there. Unrighteousness truth And

  230. they're just holding it and they're they're praying if they

  231. pray there they're hoping against hope.

  232. That truth will not fly out of their hands up into the air for

  233. all to see. They are suppressing truth and

  234. so on apologetics one way to do, apologetics one way to talk to

  235. an unbeliever who is suppressing truth one way is to give them

  236. more beach balls. It's to say, hey, here's more.

  237. Truth or to make the beach ball larger right to where it becomes

  238. harder and harder to suppress the truth.

  239. This is one way you can do apologetics you can continue to

  240. give evidence of God. Another way to do apologetics is

  241. to figure out how you might pry fingers away from the beach

  242. ball. And so in unraveling their

  243. worldview, you are removing their hand from the beach ball

  244. so to speak. And so, the beach ball by the

  245. power of God, hopefully will come to the surface and this

  246. will lead to their understanding of their need for a savior.

  247. So make sense. So this is what this is.

  248. The indictment, from Paul, the Assessing the truth.

  249. In their unrighteousness has rendered their thinking useless,

  250. but that's what he means by feudal.

  251. That their thinking has become becomes futile in their, in

  252. their thinking and their minds. What Paul is saying is they

  253. think they're wise but they're fools, they think that they have

  254. truth but they're actually suppressing truth and they're

  255. showing that by suppressing their truth, they don't know

  256. anything. Their futile in their thinking,

  257. actually. It's really a sad thing.

  258. To behold I don't stand here today pridefully gloating over

  259. unbelievers, it's heartbreaking. That God has been made known to

  260. them and yet in their unrighteousness, they choose to

  261. suppress the truth about God and to run headlong into their own

  262. idolatry. But Paul is saying here, their

  263. arguments are nonsensical. They don't make sense.

  264. They're claiming to be wise if they became fools.

  265. Why? Because they exchanged the glory

  266. of the immortal God for images, resembling Creation.

  267. In other words, they're created to worship God.

  268. And God has made himself known in creation that they might be

  269. able to find God. And ultimately, you find.

  270. God has revealed himself naturally, but he's revealed

  271. himself supernaturally through his word and so we ultimately

  272. come to know God. Intimately through his word as

  273. he saves us from our sins, reveals himself to us and we're

  274. in right relationship again. But what they've done is even in

  275. nature, they're looking into it and they're saying, no, the

  276. creative order from God is wrong.

  277. And so they've making themselves wisely become fools.

  278. The way God has designed, it is not the way we want to live.

  279. And so we ignore it and the created to worship, God, created

  280. to walk and fellowship with God. And yet in unrighteousness they

  281. worship, man, they worship themselves worship animals and

  282. all sorts of things, and you see this over and again and

  283. unbelievers, it's not just with gender and sexuality in

  284. marriage. Let's one Giants battle.

  285. That's one that Paul sets. Aside here is one of the

  286. greatest evidences of someone who's been given over.

  287. To their unnatural Passions. But that's not the only battle.

  288. There's many bibles out there, there are many things, many

  289. instances I should say where creation is put over God where

  290. we worship the creation rather than the Creator.

  291. Their pride is the center of their unbelief.

  292. The pride is the center of their unbelief in Pride, the claim to

  293. be wise, it boasts in their sins believing themselves to be

  294. liberated. Yet they are fools and fooled

  295. themselves by buying into the LIE of the garden.

  296. The same lie that the serpent tells to Eve.

  297. If you will eat of this fruit, you will be like, God, And so

  298. they take the fruits of their own unrighteousness and they eat

  299. it and they offer it to others who eat also.

  300. And they cheer one, another on, as they eat the fruit that is

  301. leading to impending death. Unbelievers, boasts in their

  302. sins while Believers boast in their savior.

  303. Furthermore, after versus 20 after verse 25, Paul makes it

  304. clear that their sinful behavior is so far removed from Freedom

  305. by showing that it really is the righteous Judgment of God.

  306. We see that they are under God's judgment as they think they're

  307. free. They seek to remove themselves

  308. from the rule of God yet. So ironically, they have run

  309. headlong into his righteous judgment.

  310. Romans 1:26, or 32, for this reason, God gave them up to

    Romans 1:26

  311. dishonorable passions for their women, exchanged natural

  312. relations for those that are contrary to Nature and the men

  313. likewise gave up natural relations with women and were

  314. consumed with passion for one, another men committing Shameless

  315. acts with men and receiving in themselves.

  316. The due penalty for their error. And since they did not see fit

  317. to acknowledge, God, God gave them up to a debased mind to do.

  318. What ought not to be done. They were filled with all manner

  319. of unrighteousness, evil covetousness malice, they were

  320. full of Envy murder Strife, deceit.

  321. Maliciousness, they are gossips slanderers.

  322. Haters of God insolent Hadi boastful, inventors of evil

  323. disobedient to parents, foolish faithless, heartless, ruthless,

  324. There's really none of us who are left off this list.

  325. Though, they know, God's righteous decree that those who

  326. practice such things deserve to die.

  327. They not only do them, but they give approval to those who

  328. practice them. So again, claiming to be wise to

  329. become fools, their minds are darkened yet, they believe that

  330. their minds are enlightened, their hearts are dark, and yet

  331. they believe they're living the enlightened experience.

  332. The following, however, their own lust-filled, passions has

  333. landed them, squarely under God's righteous.

  334. Judgments God gave them up. We read to dishonorable

  335. passions. That is the idea of him, giving

  336. them up to. It means he's surrendering them

  337. to them. To give something up is to be

  338. surrendered to someone or to some thing gave them up to

  339. dishonorable. Passions got a surrendering them

  340. over to their dishonorable passions.

  341. They did not want his authority, they wanted to be their own

  342. authority and so they got what they want.

  343. They got what they wanted. They sought it out.

  344. They suppress the truth. And made themselves wise, they

  345. claimed that God was a fool. It's obvious.

  346. However, back to this idea of pride month, it's obvious in the

  347. anatomy of a man, and a woman that they are made to fit

  348. together that they were made to be one flesh that they are made

  349. for the purpose of being fruitful and multiplying not

  350. only in having children, but that's one of the ways.

  351. However, the world chooses to ignore God's creative order the

  352. world chooses to establish their own order because they see

  353. themselves as God, like, they are their own God.

  354. So in their dishonorable passions, men are perversely

  355. drawn to men and women are perversely drawn to women.

  356. It's an Abomination. It it abhors.

  357. God's word by its actions and it's Proclamation.

  358. Yes, we must be clear on that. God has established the order of

  359. the Sexes. He did this at creation Genesis

    Genesis 1:27

  360. 1:27, we read. So God created man in his own

  361. image. In the image of God, he created

  362. him male and female he created them.

  363. Just a few verses later, a zoomed in picture of what took

  364. place at creation. God creates man from the dust of

  365. the ground and breathed into him life and then he says that it's

  366. not good, that man should be alone.

  367. And so he creates a woman from the side of the man from the rib

  368. of a man of the man. And in verse 24 of chapter, 2 of

  369. Genesis, we read this therefore a man shall leave his father and

  370. his mother and hold fast to his wife and they shall become one

  371. flesh. Again, it's clear.

  372. The creative order here and it's clear how the world has turned

  373. it upside down. From these two verses alone, we

  374. can rightly conclude that God created mankind male and female

  375. in his own image and God created marriage to be between a man and

  376. his wife. But the unbelieving world hates

  377. these truths. That's the product of pride, in

  378. their unbelief. But remember G, what Jesus said,

  379. we just read this last week but I'm going to remind you again,

  380. what Jesus said about the lithe and the lovers of Darkness John

    John 3:9–19

  381. 3:9 through 19, through 20 Jesus, talking to Nicodemus, he

  382. saying that the light has come into the world.

  383. But they hated the light he says this is the Judgment that the

  384. light has come into the world and the people loved the

  385. darkness rather than the light because their Works were evil.

  386. For everyone. Who does wicked things hates the

  387. light and does not come to the light, lest his work, should be

  388. exposed again, it's the same principle here, they are lovers

  389. of themselves, their lovers of their own sinful desires, their

  390. lovers of their own darkness and foolishly.

  391. They think that their darkness is light.

  392. They think that they're dark This is Liberation, they think

  393. that their darkness is freedom. And yet they're bound to walk in

  394. the darkness until the light is revealed to them, but the

  395. judgment is that the light is here.

  396. Truth is here. God has made himself known in

  397. the face of Christ Jesus. In him, we have the radiance of

  398. the glory of God. He's the exact imprint of the

  399. father. And he has made known to us

  400. truth. His Apostles have made known to

  401. us Truth by the spirit of God who instructed them after

  402. Christ. Ascended into heaven.

  403. And so we see that God gave has given them up to dishonorable

  404. passions as an act of judgment. We also read that God gave them

  405. up to a debased mind to do what ought not to be done.

  406. They are the word debased. Here means morally,

  407. reprehensible, Which we see in their perverted views of gender

  408. sexuality in marriage, but it's also seen in their character

  409. again. These verses they were filled

  410. with all manner of unrighteousness.

  411. I won't read the whole list again but it's evil.

  412. Malice murder Strife, deceit, maliciousness, gossips

  413. slanderers, haters of God hottie.

  414. Boastful foolish faithless, heartless ruthless.

  415. You get the points. All manner of unrighteousness

  416. and so there is nothing righteous in them which Paul

  417. will go on to say explicitly in Romans 3, just two chapters

  418. later he'll say that there is none righteous.

  419. No not one. There is none who seeks the

  420. Lord. And so, there's nothing

  421. righteous in them. They've gotten exactly what they

  422. wanted. That's part of the Judgment,

  423. they know, God's righteous decree.

  424. They know that those who practice such evil deserve to

  425. die. And yet not only do they do

  426. them, but they give approval to those who practice them.

  427. Misery loves company. There's always room at the table

  428. of the unrighteous scoffer, there's always a seat there.

  429. That unrighteous golfer wilda ride you and your high view of

  430. God's word. Hilda ride, you and your

  431. attempts to be obedient to the word of God especially when you

  432. fail. That's scoffer will try every

  433. way he can to break you down. and to draw you in, if he can to

  434. his own evil actions to his own scoffing, But I tell you that

  435. Psalm one promises, the man who will stand on the righteous,

  436. decrees of God, the man who will stand on God's instruction.

  437. There's a promise there for him and and for her.

  438. But the one who will trust God's word, the one who will meditate

  439. on it day and night. The psalmist says that he will

  440. become like a tree that is firmly planted beside a flowing

  441. stream that bears fruits and do season.

  442. It is unshakable, he will not be moved and he says he will not be

  443. moved because God knows his way. In other words, God keeps him in

  444. safety because the righteous one has hidden himself in God.

  445. This is what you're doing. When you stand on the word of

  446. God is you're hiding yourself under the safety of the Trinity,

  447. you're hiding yourself under God, you're placing yourself

  448. under his care and under his provision and you're saying,

  449. father, my life, I count, not my own, I am yours and I trust you

  450. fully. I'm going to stand on your word.

  451. Regardless of what the world around me does.

  452. I'm going to walk with you? And so, I urge you brothers and

  453. sisters do not be swayed by the ways of the world, do not be

  454. swayed by the cunning attempts, the cunning arguments, the

  455. attractiveness of it, all that we should preach and all

  456. inclusive message. That God Saves everyone.

  457. Whether they believe or not. That all roads lead to Heaven as

  458. long as you're a good person. I'm telling you deny those

  459. things stand on the word of God because no one's getting into

  460. heaven believing those things. It's unloving to affirm people

  461. and such foolishness. Do you hear me?

  462. It's unloving to affirm people in that.

  463. You cannot say that you love your neighbor and support their

  464. sins. You can't do that.

  465. It's unloving to do this. It's unloving to dismiss

  466. scripture for your neighbor and to say sure do what?

  467. Feels right, there's no love in that.

  468. You might sound loving, you might feel loving.

  469. But the truth is, there's no love in it at all.

  470. Ephesians 4 tells us to speak the truth in love so that we are

  471. not. Those kind of people who are

  472. tossed to and fro by every cunning argument, every wind of

  473. Doctrine. Every foolish belief.

  474. So, as to speak the truth in love, so that every member

  475. talking now about the body of Christ, every member is

  476. strengthened, every member is given the ability to grow.

  477. And so if I'm standing on foolish, doctrines, And my dear

  478. sister, Miss Tracy comes to me and says Kyle, I love you but

  479. you're being an idiot right now. I need to hear that.

  480. Right. And this is what the body of

  481. Christ is for. And so I'll ask well how in what

  482. ways and she'll explain them to me.

  483. And I pray that the Lord would open my eyes to hear about from

  484. eyes to see open my ears to hear his truths and those moments of

  485. reproof of rebuke. This is part of what the body of

  486. Christ is for. So, I'm encouraging you today.

  487. Do not be swayed. You're not soften your stance on

  488. the trustworthiness and the faithfulness of God's Eternal

  489. work. I want to attempt to provide

  490. some further Clarity by reading to you some affirmations and

  491. denials of a statement that we've signed as a church, is

  492. called the Nashville statement on biblical sexuality.

  493. You can find this on our website under our beliefs.

  494. I don't know if you've read this or not.

  495. It's, we've had it up for a while now well over a year but

  496. there's some affirmations in denial here that will help

  497. clarify what we're saying and I'm going to read some of these

  498. to you. These are things that we Believe

  499. as an elder team, these are things, we believe as a church.

  500. We affirm that God designed marriage to be a covenant will

  501. sexual procreative lifelong Union of one man and one woman

  502. as husband and wife, and is meant to signify.

  503. The Covenant Love between Christ and his bride.

  504. The church amen. We deny that God designed

  505. marriage to be a homosexual polygamists or polyamorous

  506. relationship. We also denied that marriage is

  507. a mere human contract rather than a covenant made before God.

  508. We affirm that gods revealed will for all people is Chastity

  509. outside of marriage and Fidelity within marriage.

  510. We deny that any affections desires, our commitments ever

  511. justify sexual intercourse before outside marriage nor do

  512. they justify any form of sexual immorality.

  513. We affirm that God created, Adam and Eve the first human beings

  514. in his own image equal before God as persons and distinct as

  515. male and female. We deny that the divinely

  516. ordained differences Between male and female render them

  517. unequal and dignity or Worse. We affirm that divinely ordained

  518. differences between male and female, reflect God's original

  519. creation, design and are meant for human, good and human

  520. flourishing. We deny that such differences

  521. are a result of the fall or are a tragedy to be overcome.

  522. We affirm that the differences between male and female

  523. reproductive structures are integral to God's design for

  524. self-conception, as male or female.

  525. We deny that physical anomalies or psychological conditions

  526. nullify the god-appointed link between biological sex and

  527. self-conception is male or female.

  528. We affirm that those born with a physical disorder of sex.

  529. Development are created in the image of God and have dignity

  530. and worth equal to all other image.

  531. Bearers, they are acknowledged by our lord Jesus.

  532. And his words about eunuchs who were born that way from their

  533. mother's womb with all others. They are welcome as faithful

  534. followers of Jesus Christ and should embrace their biological

  535. sex insofar, as it may be known. We denied that ambiguities

  536. related to a person's biological sex, render one, incapable of

  537. living a free. Fruitful life and joyful

  538. obedience to Christ? We affirm that self-conception

  539. is male or female, should be defined by God's holy purposes

  540. in creation and Redemption. As revealed in scripture, we

  541. deny that adopting a homosexual or transgender self-conception

  542. is consistent with God's holy purposes in creation and

  543. Redemption. We affirm that people who

  544. experience sexual attraction for the same sex may live a rich and

  545. fruitful life pleasing to God through faith in Jesus Christ.

  546. As they like all Christians, walk and purity of life.

  547. We denied sexual attraction for the same sex as part of the

  548. natural goodness of God's original creation or that it

  549. puts a person outside, the hope of the Gospel.

  550. We affirm that sin, distort sexual desires by directing them

  551. away from the marriage, covenant.

  552. Towards sexual immorality, a distortion that includes both

  553. heterosexual and homosexual immorality.

  554. We deny that an enduring pattern of desire for sexual immorality,

  555. justifies sexually, immoral Behavior.

  556. We affirm that it is sinful to approve of homosexuality

  557. immorality or transgenderism and that such approval constitutes

  558. an essential departure from Christian faithfulness and

  559. witness. We deny that the approval of

  560. homosexual immorality or transgender is Ism is a matter

  561. of moral indifference about which otherwise faithful

  562. Christians should agree to disagree again.

  563. Unbelievers boast in their sins. Why Believers boast in their

  564. safe of the truly sad, part of all of this?

  565. Is the unbelievers attempt to liberate themselves by their own

  566. Passions. Because in it, they are bound.

  567. They are as bound as they've ever been, and maybe more about

  568. maybe more. So, Only the Gospel of Jesus

  569. Christ promises, Liberation and freedom from sins.

  570. The gospel alone is the power of God unto salvation.

  571. Paul began this section with a reminder to these Roman

  572. Believers. He says, for I am not ashamed of

  573. the Gospel of Jesus Christ, for it, is the power of God, for

  574. salvation to everyone, who believes to the Jew, first into

  575. the gents I are into. Also, to the Greek verse 17 for

  576. in it, the righteousness of God is revealed from faith for

  577. Faith. As it is written, the righteous

  578. shall live by faith. And so what Paul is saying, is

  579. the gospel is the saving power of God.

  580. God and which the righteousness of God is revealed to capture

  581. the gravity and the weight of what Paul is saying of this

  582. statement to these Believers in this first century moments.

  583. We, you must consider the context here that the Christians

  584. who are in Rome. Paul is writing to their living

  585. under the rule of Rome's, power and their influence.

  586. And because Rome's power and influence was far and wide and

  587. it was brutal toward Christians and many ways.

  588. Many Christians, lost their lives at the hands of Roman

  589. soldiers. Under the rule of guys like

  590. Nero. In that moment as your brothers

  591. and sisters are literally being torn, limb from limb, or set on

  592. fire, it would be very tempting to be ashamed of the Gospel, due

  593. to the lack of your own size, the lack of your own Fame, and

  594. the lack of your own honor. It would be very easy to say,

  595. well, let me just hide my little light under this bushel here.

  596. But Paul statements. Reminds these Roman Christians

  597. that they possess a power that is greater than the power of

  598. Rome. Which is that the one that is

  599. executing them. They possess the Gospel of Jesus

  600. Christ. And Paul says, this is not going

  601. to finish it. We'll start over.

  602. I've been fighting it. Thought I could make it.

  603. They possess. The power of God in the Gospel

  604. of Jesus Christ. And Paul says, this is the power

  605. of God which is able to save sinners.

  606. It's able to save all of those who believe.

  607. And verse 17, he reminds them that by the proclamation of the

  608. Gospel faith is revealed for faith.

  609. Our faith is revealed unto faith, we might say salvation by

  610. faith. Alone comes from the gospel

  611. alone. Paul makes this point.

  612. Very, very clear in Romans chapter 10 where he says out

    Romans 10 chapter mention

  613. loud, he's riding this for them to read and and he says this, he

  614. says, how will they believe unless One carries the good news

  615. and how will the good news be heard?

  616. Unless someone preaches the good news and then he says that Faith

  617. Comes. He's talking about saving faith,

  618. faith comes from the hearing, and the hearing comes from the

  619. word of God. And so, the gospel is the power

  620. of God unto salvation, to all, who believe and it must be told

  621. so that it must be heard. So that it might be believed.

  622. If you today or alive in Christ as we looked at over the last 12

  623. weeks or so, it was longer than that.

  624. If you are alive in Christ today, it's because of your

  625. belief in the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

  626. It's because of Salvation by the grace of God, that's come to

  627. you. And so you are truly alive, you

  628. have eternal life now and I I want you to walk in that life

  629. each day God has called Adieu to New Life that you might walk

  630. with him Among The unbelieving World.

  631. God does not save you and take you. he saves you and

  632. commissions, you To go into all the world.

  633. And to proclaim the good news of Christ.

  634. The teach all that He commands. Baptizing believers.

  635. Your commissioned by God to do this, because it's by that

  636. message and it's by that faith, that people will be saved you,

  637. and I must receive the same truth today.

  638. That Paul is telling the Romans here, As the World Turns had

  639. long and runs over the Cliffs of self-expression and

  640. individualism you, and I You and I must refuse to make gods of

  641. man and take up the flag of the gospel and runs forward

  642. faithfulness to God. Run toward eternal life.

  643. How many of you have seen the Patriot Mel Gibson the Patriot?

  644. Not the, Never mind, I can't remember his name, but I almost

  645. said, Sylvester Stallone, but the other guy, the the karate,

  646. man. What's his name?

  647. Jasper? You know, movies.

  648. Anyway. What?

  649. Yes, Steven Seagal. Yeah.

  650. Then when the in a movie called The Patriot or something, also,

  651. I don't remember anyone, not important, but in the Patriot

  652. with Mel Gibson, the one that really matters right now, No

  653. Gibson plays. A guy named Benjamin Martin,

  654. who's a militia leader, and and he didn't want to even join the

  655. war, but he joins the war because his sons are brutally

  656. killed in front of him. And so at the end and that in

  657. the final battle scene of this movie, the Redcoats are

  658. advancing their winning the battle.

  659. The bluecoats are beginning to retreat and Mel, Gibson's kind

  660. of surveying the scene as he's coming to and he's looking

  661. around and and the movies playing The Slow Mo, you know,

  662. to capture the, all of that. And Martin goes, and he grabs a

  663. patched-up American flag, and you can probably see the visual

  664. in your mind. If you see anybody, he begins to

  665. run toward the battle. it just grabs the flag, he takes off,

  666. running toward the floor, toward the battle, he's running office,

  667. it of these Warriors who are retreating But in doing so he

  668. inspires them to turn and to keep fighting.

  669. But that's the kind of faith that you and I are to have in

  670. this age of unchecked pride. You're to have the kind of faith

  671. that goes against the grain. That goes against.

  672. The afraid, the fearful, the worried, the scared the nervous.

  673. It goes against all the ones who were running away because the

  674. world's attacks are too much. You're to have the kind of faith

  675. that is strong amid a time when there is little faith.

  676. And your to run against the grain, your to carry the flag of

  677. the Gospel. In this time, You're not alone

  678. in this. if you need courage, for this read Acts, Read

  679. Philippians read first and second Peter.

  680. Read 1st 2nd 3rd. John read revelation.

  681. Read the gospels read. All of the Epistles, read your

  682. new testament is what I'm saying today.

  683. Your brothers and sisters, who started this whole thing.

  684. When you now stand on the shoulders of have been fighting,

  685. this battle fought, this battle long before us and we are well,

  686. equipped by the word that God gave them for us.

  687. We are well, equipped by the same spirit of God, that was

  688. alive and them is alive. And us the same spirit of God,

  689. that raised Christ, from the dead, is our spirit.

  690. It's the one who dwells in us. We are his Temple.

  691. You can fight the fight with boldness.

  692. You can run the race without fear and Paul in Philippians

    Philippians 1:27

  693. 1:27. He's writing from prison.

  694. And he's encouraging the church at Philippi.

  695. In the midst of their great persecution that their enduring

  696. and this is what he says in verses 27 through 30.

  697. He says only let your manner of of Life be worthy of the gospel

  698. of Christ. Another one live in such a way

  699. that you show you believe going to be worthy of the Gospel

  700. you've received he says so that whether I come and see or in my

  701. absence. I may hear of you that you are

  702. standing firm in one spirit. With one mind striving side by

  703. side for the faith of the Gospel listen to verse 28 and not

  704. frightened in anything by your opponent's not frightened and

  705. anything by your opponents. This is a clear sign to them of

  706. their destruction but of your salvation and that from God,

  707. what's a clear sign? The fact that you are walking

  708. worthy of the Gospel if you're standing firm in one spirit with

  709. one mind striving side by side for the faith of the gospel.

  710. And so you are not frightened. You're not frightened by. and

  711. when the world looks on, when your opponent's look on,

  712. Declaring themselves wise, thinking you to be a fool and

  713. they see a church, a people who are immovable because of their

  714. belief in the gospel of Christ. It's a billboard for them of

  715. death. it's one way, one more way that the Lord might arrest

  716. their attention and so save them Not frightened and anything by

  717. your opponent's. This is a clear sign to them of

  718. their destruction, but of your salvation.

  719. So again, in standing firm striving side by side with one

  720. mind. It's a confirmation that you are

  721. in Christ. And so, it's important that we

  722. have one another in these kinds of days.

  723. And then in verse 29, he says, for it has been granted to you.

  724. That for the sake of Christ, you should not only believe in him

  725. but also suffer for his sake. So this is one more way you can

  726. take joy in your trials is James says, in chapter one, is knowing

  727. that your trials, your sufferings have come to you from

  728. God. So that you can suffer for the

  729. sake of Christ, which is one more identity Mark that you are

  730. in Christ. If you are living a life, that

  731. is free of suffering and always you experience, no suffering at

  732. all. No Kickback for your beliefs.

  733. Then you need to ask yourself, am I really standing for

  734. anything? I'm not saying you go out and be

  735. intentionally disruptive and try to stir up stuff, but if you're

  736. not cowering amid conversations with co-workers and employees,

  737. or friends or roommates or spouse children, whatever, and

  738. you're going to experience some friction for your beliefs in

  739. Christ. And so if there is no friction

  740. there, maybe they're maybe not much evidence outside of in your

  741. heart, to your belief, you should be more bold, should take

  742. a stand. And he says, you're engaged in

  743. the same conflict that you saw I had.

  744. And now hear that I still have and so by engaging in these

  745. things you are identifying yourself with Christ with the

  746. Apostle Paul and with all those who have gone before you, you do

  747. not stand alone. It's in Hebrews that we read

  748. about the great cloud of witnesses that we have.

  749. To these truths into the things that we stand for.

  750. And so in light of God's verdict on Humanity as we've seen in

  751. Romans 1 today, the gospel must gain urgency in your life.

  752. It must gain urgency in your life behind the good news of the

  753. Gospel lies, the tough news, the difficult news, the bad news, if

  754. you will, that all people are implicated in Acts in the

  755. attitudes that God has promised to punish unless his means of

  756. Grace are embraced. So, the gospel is the antidotes.

  757. Because it's through trust in Christ.

  758. That Obedience of Faith Comes which is the kind of believing

  759. that God requires Obedience of faith.

  760. The gospel is the power of God unto salvation for everyone who

  761. believes. So as you look on the pride of

  762. unbelief that is on display in our world today, do not envy it.

  763. Do not support it. But stand firm on the gospel of

  764. Christ. Pray for the Salvation of

  765. Sinners by the grace of God, as you boldly witness to the saving

  766. power of the Gospel with unbelievers.

  767. Again, here's some affirmations, just a few more affirmations and

  768. denials from the Nashville statement on biblical sexuality.

  769. In regards to how we live with these truths.

  770. We affirm that our duties. We affirm our duty to speak the

  771. truth, and love at all times, including when we speak to or

  772. about one another as male or female, we deny any obligation

  773. to speak in such ways that our God's design of His Image

  774. bearers as male and female. In other words, refused to use

  775. the pronouns refused to We affirm that the grace of God in

  776. Christ gives both merciful pardon and transforming power

  777. and that this pardon and power enable a follower of Jesus to

  778. put to death sinful desires and to walk in a manner worthy of

  779. the Lord praise God. We deny that the grace of God in

  780. Christ is insufficient to forgive all sexual sins and to

  781. give power for Holiness to every believer who feels drawn into

  782. sexual sin. We affirm that the grace of God

  783. in Christ and able Sinners to forsake transgender self

  784. conceptions. And by Divine forbearance to

  785. accept the god-ordained link between one's biological sex and

  786. one's self conception is male or female.

  787. We deny that the grace of God in Christ sanctions self

  788. conceptions. That are at odds with gods

  789. revealed. Will we affirm that Christ?

  790. Jesus has come into the world to save Sinners and that through

  791. Christ's death and Resurrection. Forgiveness of sins and eternal

  792. life are available to every person who repents of sin and

  793. Trust In Christ Alone as Savior, Lord, and supreme treasure.

  794. We didn't, I love this one, but the Lord's arm is too short to

  795. save or that any sinner is beyond his reach.

  796. Amen. The gospel is the power of God

  797. unto salvation believe in brothers and sisters for

  798. claimants. It is the thing that liberates

  799. Sinners, finally forever. Amen.

  800. Remember unbelievers are going to boast and their sins.

  801. But our duty is to post and our savior.

  802. Would you stand and pray with me today?

  803. Gracious. Heavenly Father we have heard

  804. your words today. Now, help us to receive your

  805. word. Lord, would you buy your spirit?

  806. Allow us to believe your word wholeheartedly.

  807. To remember it, to process it to live.

  808. It father, help us to be the kind of men and women who

  809. understand That unbelievers, running headlong into their

  810. lustful, behaviors desires. Are actually under your

  811. judgments. And that this is.

  812. A terrifying thing. Father.

  813. Would you give us an urgency to proclaim the gospel to friends

  814. and to family members? To those around us who we know,

  815. do not know you. Would you open a door for us?

  816. Father, to talk about our God. To talk about your salvation, to

  817. talk about the freedom. We now have from sin.

  818. The ability, we have to hide ourselves in Christ.

  819. Our sins are forgiven, our sins are washed away.

  820. We are free forever from their guilt and the shame.

  821. Father, we ask That you would use Christians around the world.

  822. But Christians in our nation, A Remnant, father of Christians

  823. who will Proclaim your word who will stand for truth.

  824. Who will save people from the deranged behavior?
