  1. Father. God, we, we love you and as we

  2. have done so much in past days and weeks, we just cry out to

  3. you. We cry out for strength.

  4. Kraut for for mercy and for Grace.

  5. We know that you're good to give it.

  6. God, we love you so much and we love Colin Patricia and their

  7. family so much. Lord, I pray that you just as

  8. you have already done continued to just pour out your love on

  9. this church and all these people, and all this family.

  10. I pray, God, that you give us the strength to continue to

  11. surround him with the love that they need the support that they

  12. need. I pray that you give us wisdom

  13. in the days to come, give us strength to know how to carry

  14. on, in the midst of grief, as Kyle has already said we know we

  15. can't just shut down and stop that we continue to praise you

  16. though. You slay us no matter what

  17. comes. We're always going to praise you

  18. for it. We give you all the glory.

  19. All the honor. We know that you're good as was

  20. discussed yesterday. We know that in this You were

  21. working together all things for the good of those who love those

  22. who love you. God, we trust you in that.

  23. Now, I ask you now that you be with us this morning, you speak

  24. to us through your word and that you speak through a bumbling

  25. idiot. God, we love you.

  26. We Praise You. In Jesus Name, you have your

  27. Bibles turn to Acts chapter 2. Want to read a passage to you

    Acts 2 chapter mention

  28. from there? We have been going through a

  29. series titled. What happens when we worship and

  30. we have been looking at a couple of different things.

  31. Kyle started this series and pointed out in the beginning

  32. that we are created to worship. That's what we were made to do.

  33. Every aspect of Our Lives. Should be an act of worship to

  34. God. The Father, everything we do the

  35. way we conduct ourselves that our jobs, the way we raise our

  36. family. So way we drive in traffic, it

  37. should all be an act of worship to God.

  38. He followed up with a couple of other things that happen when we

  39. worship, we become what we behold.

  40. And we meet with God, he talked about how worship is not meant

  41. to be done alone, that it's meant to be done corporately

  42. with our family, with our church family together and only done in

  43. that way. Can it be done properly?

  44. And then last week James pointed out the Dual nature of worship

  45. So today I want to end this series with another idea.

  46. Another thing that happens when we worship, and it is the, the

  47. title of the sermon today, it's that God, unites his people when

  48. we worship together, when we come together and we worship

  49. together as a family, God, unites his people If you are

  50. able, would you please stand as we now read?

  51. From the book of Acts chapter 2, I'm going to start at verse 42,

    Acts 2 chapter mention

  52. And then, we will also read a little bit from chapter four

  53. acts. To starting at verse 42 says,

  54. they were continually devoting themselves to the apostles

  55. teaching and to the fellowship and to the breaking of bread and

  56. to prayer. Everyone kept feeling a sense of

  57. all and Many Wonders and signs were taking place through the

  58. apostles and all those who believed were together and had

  59. all things in common and they began Man, selling their

  60. property and possessions and we're sharing with them all.

  61. Cheering them, all with all as anyone might have need day by

  62. day continuing with one mind in the temple and breaking bread

  63. from house to house, they were taking their meals together with

  64. gladness and sincerity of heart, praising God, and having favor

  65. with all the people and the Lord was adding to their number day

  66. by day. Those who were being saved.

  67. If you also look at chapter 4, Verse 32.

  68. The congregation of those who believed were of one heart and

  69. one Soul, not one of them claimed anything belonging to

  70. him was his own, but all things were common property to them.

  71. And with great power, the apostles were giving testimony

  72. to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus and abundant grace was

  73. upon them. All for there was not a needy

  74. person, among them for all, who were owners of lands or houses

  75. would sell them, and bring the proceeds of the sales and lay

  76. them at the The apostles feet and they would be distributed to

  77. each as he had need. Amen.

  78. You can be seated what we see in these verses.

  79. Is what life looked like for the very first New Testament Church.

  80. This is all happening immediately.

  81. After Jesus crucifixion, his death, burial and resurrection

  82. and his Ascension into heaven. This is a roadmap.

  83. This is a snapshot. This is history of the church

  84. and how they conducted themselves immediately

  85. afterward. How the church was built.

  86. What they did. Can you imagine?

  87. This is all pretty routine for us on Sundays, but they didn't

  88. even know that they had no idea where to start.

  89. What to do mean. They knew some things obviously

  90. but This shows us how they conducted themselves and there

  91. are some things that I want us to look at today that I think

  92. can be very helpful to us, they gathered together in homes, they

  93. gather together in the temple. They broke bread, they listen to

  94. the apostles, teach and expound upon God's word, and they prayed

  95. together. I have no doubt that they

  96. probably sang together as well as was their custom.

  97. They would have been a singing people.

  98. It was just part of life. And if you'll notice and 2:42

  99. and in verse 46 that they didn't just do this one day a week, not

  100. just for one hour on one day a week, they did this continually

  101. day by day, they gathered together and did this, they were

  102. in constant constant Community with one another, some of them

  103. even sold their houses and donated the money so that they

  104. could meet the needs of others. So no doubt, some of them are

  105. living together. Some people today might call

  106. this a commune and it has a negative annotation to it.

  107. We're not talking about the crazy Kool-Aid.

  108. Drinking kind we're talking about the kind where people

  109. truly sacrifice for one another and loved one.

  110. Another Well gave up their possessions or whatever.

  111. They could to help one another Now, this had a profound impact

  112. on these people. They no longer look to their own

  113. interests, but they look to the interest of their brothers and

  114. their sisters in Christ. Verse 45 says that they were

  115. doing this to meet one another's needs.

  116. And so they they learned to love one another in a

  117. self-sacrificing way. Just like Jesus had done, they

  118. were learning to Model A Selfless Love just like Jesus

  119. had for them and for all of us, It produced a result.

  120. Within their community that was noticeable.

  121. So the outside world. It was noticeable, you could see

  122. it. Scripture talks about that.

  123. It talks about Being Sanctified in a way that other people can

  124. notice it, the let it be seen, but people noticed the change in

  125. you, and these people were growing in a way that the world

  126. around them noticed. Something is different about

  127. those people. They became like one big family.

  128. And that's how they loved one. Another.

  129. In Matthew 12 and Jesus with crowd gathered around him and

  130. told that his mother and his brothers were there to see him.

  131. He says, This is my mother and brother.

  132. These are, these are my mother and brother.

  133. Whoever does the will of my Father in Heaven, is my brother

  134. and my sister and my mother. And again, in Matthew 19, verse

    Matthew 19:29

  135. 29, he says that everyone everyone who has left houses or

  136. brothers or sisters, or Father's or mothers, or farms for my

  137. namesake will receive many times as much.

  138. A thousand times much. So, whatever.

  139. Whatever, we may, give up to follow Christ, we gained in

  140. following Christ. So today the point I'm trying to

  141. make and all of this, my big idea to this sermon is that when

  142. we worship together, when we come together and do what we're

  143. doing now, when we do life together, we worship and we sing

  144. and we break bread and we praise, and we do this.

  145. We become family. Become Stanley.

  146. Through the regular habits there, a lifestyle of

  147. worshipping together, whether it be in your home groups on

  148. Wednesday nights, where you're breaking bread, whether it be

  149. through the, the corporate Gathering, where all those

  150. groups are coming together Under One Roof on Sunday morning.

  151. Whatever we do together we grow closer.

  152. Our bond is strengthened and we become family through it all God

  153. unites together. A people that otherwise would

  154. not be United. Amen, I think we can all look

  155. around this room and say that. If it weren't for Jesus Christ,

  156. we would not be here. Some of us might be friends but

  157. it is the bond of Jesus Christ that brings us together.

  158. Otherwise most of us would never even know one another we would

  159. never spend any time together. but Christ brings together

  160. people from all walks of life, all backgrounds, all interests,

  161. Hobbies jobs, Let me be clear. You are adopted into gods

  162. family. At the moment of your

  163. conversion. but that bond that familial Bond of being in God's

  164. family, being Brothers and Sisters in Christ is

  165. strengthened Strengthened through regularly gathering

  166. together to worship to spend time together.

  167. So I want you to understand that that it's not it's not by

  168. gathering that we enter the family of God.

  169. We enter it the moment we place our faith in Jesus but we cannot

  170. strengthen that Bond alone. We must gather together as

  171. family for that to happen, for us to jail and come together as

  172. a family. This truth has been on full

  173. display this week at this church, as we've already talked

  174. about. I've never seen anything quite

  175. like it. I've never been to a service

  176. like the one we had yesterday. I've never been to a visitation

  177. like that. I've never been a part of a

  178. church like this. You all truly have been a

  179. scripture talks about of one mind and one heart and it's

  180. beautiful. Watching you all grow and your

  181. faith in Jesus and your love for one another as our mission

  182. statement says, over the last seven years, it has become

  183. obvious that you guys are family.

  184. A good one, too. I'm proud to be part of it, but

  185. the thing that I am perhaps, the most proud of is your steadfast

  186. faith in the midst of Trials. It reminds me of second

    2 Thessalonians 1:3

  187. Thessalonians 1:3 through for her.

  188. Paul says to that church wrote that letter to the church at

  189. thessalonica and he said we ought to always give thanks to

  190. God for you Brethren as is only fitting because your faith is

  191. greatly enlarged. And the love of each.

  192. One of you toward one, another grows, even greater therefore we

  193. ourselves will speak proudly of you among the Churches of God.

  194. God for your perseverance and faith in the midst of all your

  195. persecutions, which you endure. I think I could be wrong, but I

  196. think that the verse that our mission statement is based on, I

  197. know it's one of the intros of one of the letters somewhere,

  198. okay? Essentially that thought doesn't

  199. matter what letters. But multiple times Paul would

  200. open a letter with commending, a church for their faith and their

  201. love for one another. It's not the only time he does

  202. it. So where it's found is

  203. irrelevant. The fact is Paul was proud of

  204. the churches for for demonstrating that and I'm proud

  205. of you guys to you are living this out amazingly.

  206. So thank you. It is our faith, Our Hope in

  207. Jesus Christ that unites us that is what brings us together that

  208. faith that common faith in Jesus Christ.

  209. It's not just that we gather together.

  210. It's that we do it in his name. Under the banner of our King.

  211. Every time we gather together, he is our Cornerstone.

  212. We sang that this morning through him, we are adopted and

  213. grafted into his family. Ephesians 2:19 through 22 says

    Ephesians 2:19–22

  214. so then you are no longer strangers and Aliens.

  215. But you are fellow citizens with the Saints and members of the

  216. household of God, that is built on the foundation of the

  217. Apostles and the prophets with Christ Jesus himself, being the

  218. Cornerstone and whom the whole structure being joined together.

  219. Grows into a holy Temple of the Lord and him, you are also being

  220. built together into a dwelling place for God by the spirit.

  221. And again, in John 1:12 to all who did receive him, who

    John 1:12

  222. believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of

  223. God. So you see it as Christ that

  224. unites us, it is Christ who sustains us and it is Christ

  225. that will see us through to the end.

  226. If you confess with your mouth, that Jesus Christ is Lord.

  227. And you believe in your heart, that God raised him from the

  228. dead. You will be saved.

  229. According to Romans 10:9. And when you were saved, you

    Romans 10:9

  230. were saved from your sins and saved into the family of God

  231. into his glorious righteousness. You are now a brother and sister

  232. to Jesus himself, you are co-heirs of the Kingdom.

  233. You're a son and a daughter of God almighty.

  234. You share in that inheritance with Jesus.

  235. That's what we are adopted into together as family when we

  236. proclaim the name of Christ and that is beautiful to be in

  237. perfect fellowship with God and our Brothers and Sisters in

  238. Christ. It is a beautiful thing.

  239. And it's so powerful. The scripture even says that the

  240. Gates of Hell cannot Prevail against it.

  241. He's talking about his church there, that's you.

  242. And that is why. And how we can weep with those

  243. who weep and rejoice with those who rejoice Because you aren't

  244. just some church members that happen together together in the

  245. same building. Once a week, we're family.

  246. We do everything together cry together.

  247. We laugh together. You sing together?

  248. And it's all because of Christ. So if we have anybody here today

  249. is visiting. I know we have a lot of family

  250. that are here and I just want to thank you guys for your support

  251. of this family. I don't know if there's anybody

  252. here that is just first time. Visiting have no idea what's

  253. going on. If that's you I'm not really

  254. sorry. You get to see what it looks

  255. like to be a part of a actual church that does this as well.

  256. Life is messy. sometimes it really stinks, but You know, we

  257. live in a fallen world. We were told to expect, trials,

  258. and tribulations, But we were also told that we have what we

  259. need to get through it and it's so much so much easier and

  260. sweeter to go through that together with a church van.

  261. So much easier. and if you don't know that, if you don't know

  262. that kind of community, if you don't have that kind of family,

  263. I want you to know that you can We invite you to be a part of

  264. that here. Jesus himself invite you to be a

  265. part of that. Matthew 11:28, he says, come to

    Matthew 11:28

  266. me all who labor and are heavy laden and I will give you rest.

  267. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me for.

  268. I am gentle and lowly in heart and you will find rest for your

  269. souls. For my yoke is easy.

  270. My burden is light. All you have to do is repent and

  271. believe. Believe it in your heart,

  272. confess it with your mouth. Church.

  273. I want to ask you. I know I don't have to but I

  274. want to ask you to continue to love and support this family.

  275. In the days weeks, months to come even years.

  276. I've heard from so many. So many different pastors over

  277. the last week, trying to encourage me and us and how to

  278. fill the lead you guys and how to be a friend to Kyle that.

  279. So many times, what happens is it for the first week or so,

  280. there's so many people, reaching out and can be smothering and

  281. then everybody goes back to normal.

  282. So I want to encourage you right now.

  283. Coming weeks coming days, reach out to him, love them.

  284. Well, don't stop. Don't stop supporting and loving

  285. your church. Lift one.

  286. Another up. Bear one another's burdens.

  287. We're told in Scripture that when we bear one another's,

  288. burdens that we are fulfilling the law of Christ.

  289. A lot of times we think Christ came and he fulfilled the law

  290. and kind of instituted a new thing, right?

  291. The laws kind of done, we don't have to worry about that.

  292. But Christ has a law. He told us that we are to love

  293. one another but we are to love the Lord with all our heart,

  294. mind and soul. And we're love to love our

  295. neighbor as ourself. And so in bearing, one

  296. another's. Surgeons were doing that for

  297. fulfilling the law of Christ to love one another as we love our

  298. own selves so I encourage you to continue to do this.

  299. Don't lose hope we have sang. Some glorious truth this morning

  300. about God and His goodness. We know that he's good through

  301. all of this. So Church hold on to that faith.

  302. That unites us, hold on, to your hope.

  303. We know that this world is not our home but this is temporary

  304. We know that these present sufferings are not worth

  305. comparing to the glory. That is to be revealed us.

  306. And we know that in this world, we are going to have trials and

  307. tribulations. It's not a matter of if it's

  308. just win. But take heart, Jesus has

  309. overcome the world. When I pray for you, father, we

  310. love you. Oh God, we continually just cry

  311. out God that he would be with us, he would lift us up.

  312. He would give us this hope and this faith that we just cannot

  313. cannot muster on our own. God, I pray that you fill us

  314. with your spirit. That you help us to love one

  315. another that you help us to Bear one another's, burdens, always

  316. and that other results of this just like an ax to that the

  317. world around us would see. And would notice that

  318. something's different and that they would want to come find out

  319. about it. They would want to be a part of

  320. it and that just like an axe that you would add to our number

  321. because of it that our sufferings would not be in vain.

  322. But would serve to promote the gospel to make you famous.

  323. God, we love you and we give you all the glory.

  324. This morning, all the honor. Thank you so much for your

  325. kindness and mercy. God Be Love You.

  326. I love you. Amen.

  327. I love you. Amen.
