  56. Well, this morning, we are going to dive into the last section of

  57. the Book of James chapter 1 and the title of today's lesson is

    James 1 chapter mention

  58. hearing and during the word hearing and during the word.

  59. So, As we as we dive in, we're going to be in starting in verse

  60. 19, 19, through 27. And before before we get in, I

  61. want to check your Echo Steve sentiment from last Sunday.

  62. Thank you for your support during actually over the past

  63. past year or so as Steve and I have Went went through and is

  64. still continued her to go through the eldership candidate

  65. process. It's been humbling.

  66. It's been encouraging. Its Ben I don't know if I need

  67. to be doing this. It's Ben. very, Very heavy, very

  68. heavy. So so thank you for standing

  69. with us and thank you for standing with each other during

  70. this time. When both Kyle and Jasper are

  71. not here, thank you for continuing to be faithful to our

  72. church. Continue to be faithful to Alan,

  73. and Steve and myself. So, Thank you for that.

  74. If you're able this morning, if you're stand for the reading of

  75. God's word, will once again be in the Book of James chapter 1.

    James 1 chapter mention

  76. And we will begin in verse 19. What our God says?

  77. No this my beloved Brothers let every person be quick to hear

  78. slow to speak. Slow to anger.

  79. For the anger of man. Does not produce the

  80. righteousness of God, therefore put away all filthiness and

  81. Rapid wickedness and receive with meekness the implanted

  82. word, which is able to save your souls.

  83. But be doers of the word and not hearers only deceiving

  84. yourselves for if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a

  85. doer, he is like a man who looks intently at his natural face in

  86. a mirror for he looks at himself and goes away and at once

  87. forgets, what he was like, but the one who looks into the

  88. perfect law, the law of Liberty and perseveres being no here,

  89. who forgets, but a doer who acts, he will be.

  90. His doing. If anyone thinks he is religious

  91. and does not Bridle his tongue but deceives his heart, this

  92. person's religion is worthless religion.

  93. That is pure and undefiled before God, the father, is this

  94. to visit orphans and widows in their Affliction and to keep

  95. oneself unstained from the world.

  96. Let's once again, pray this morning, Father I thank Thank

  97. you, and I magnify your name. Father, as we began to expound

  98. to open your word to unpack. Everything that says in these

  99. verses in this in this chapter of James chapter one, father, I

  100. just ask that you will move Upon Our Hearts and move on our

  101. minds. Father, may we hear?

  102. With ears and see with eyes of the spirit this morning, not

  103. with the flesh. Father, help us to receive.

  104. Eagerly. Followed this morning, your word

  105. and I father, I ask that you will give me the words to say,

  106. allow them to hear you and not me this morning, I pray.

  107. Amen, maybe see, thank you. what the main idea of this morning,

  108. that I want to present before you Is by doing it by being a

  109. doer of God's implanted word, we work together with the Holy

  110. Spirit. To live out the sanctification

  111. process. By being a doer of God's

  112. implanted word. We work together with the Holy

  113. Spirit to live out the sanctification process.

  114. In 1:19 James turns, to the main point, he wants to make in his

  115. letter that create Christianity is not.

  116. Just about believing certain things or claiming to have

  117. faith. It is having your life

  118. transformed by the gospel. In other words, being a

  119. Christian is not just about hearing God's word but also

  120. doing it. Of course, that doesn't mean

  121. that here in the word isn't important, a mind that is

  122. Discontent full of its own opinions and not ready to

  123. listen. We're not be able to receive

  124. God's word, but once the word is received, it must be put into

  125. action. That finally is the mark of a

  126. Christian as Christians. We should not only hear the word

  127. of God but also put it in practice.

  128. So this is the main point, we finally get to the main point.

  129. Point of what James is wanting to speak to us here in his book

  130. that that we need to be transformed by the gospel.

  131. And this. And if you recognize, if you

  132. recognize what a just read, this is from our study in the Book of

  133. James. If you are on in home groups,

  134. you may recognize what I just read that.

  135. When it says, a mind that is discontent full of its own

  136. opinions and not ready to listen.

  137. Will not be able to receive God's word.

  138. In the book of. Book of Proverbs, that tells us

  139. that A full only wants to hear his own opinions.

  140. A full will only speak the out. He is, he doesn't want to

  141. listen. He only wants to speak what his

  142. own opinions. So for us to be able to receive

  143. the word of God, To receive that implanted word of God, we must

  144. be able to receive that without our opinions, getting in the

  145. way. When we read God's word.

  146. Our opinion doesn't matter. God's word.

  147. God's word says what God's word says?

  148. It doesn't matter what our opinion says.

  149. Sometimes people, you know, find scriptures and I've joked about

  150. this before. But sometimes people find

  151. scriptures they call black marks.

  152. A lot scriptures where they want to get a black permanent marker

  153. and write through that scripture.

  154. And they want to they like everything else they read, but

  155. they didn't like that, so they just going to mark it out.

  156. Well, you know that won't work. We have to receive it all.

  157. Amen. So our opinion doesn't matter.

  158. Only thing that matters is God's word.

  159. Our opinion isn't worth a hill of beans.

  160. That's why we have to look into that mirror, amen.

  161. So we have to receive here, receive the word of God and then

  162. we put it into practice. Now.

  163. Let's take a few minutes to review what we've already

  164. learned in here in the book of James.

  165. The first week, Alan did a wonderful job of T in this

  166. series up here in the first part of James we read and we learned

  167. about the process of steadfastness And how does this

  168. happen in during trials with joy?

  169. According to James 1:2, how many knows that phrase in during

    James 1:2

  170. trials? With joy, is what I call an

  171. oxymoron, they don't go together, trials and joy.

  172. No trials is one of the Christian dirty words, trials

  173. suffering, you know, those are you know dirty words sometimes

  174. to a lot of people because I don't want it they want to hear

  175. about God's love and God's grace which is that's all that's true.

  176. But they don't want to know about.

  177. They don't want to think about the process of getting to that

  178. better place. Wednesday night at home groups,

  179. I've mentioned a message, I heard a long time ago and the

  180. title of the message was a city called good.

  181. And in the message, the pastor that I had at the time was

  182. preaching this message of how that lots of Tom's Walking with

  183. God, we get to a really good place, a place of comfort

  184. oblate, place of contentment. And what happens is, lots of

  185. times. We want to settle right there,

  186. but God is always pushing us. God is always pushing us to go

  187. farther, and he has a better place for us to go.

  188. But lots of times we as Christians, we don't want to go

  189. to that better place because of our content where we're at.

  190. We're in a good place. Why miss something good up to

  191. take a step of faith. We feel God's leading.

  192. We feel God's direction to go to that better place, but we're

  193. hey, we're content. I'm, I'm content.

  194. There were there were two and a half tribes that decided they

  195. didn't want to go into the promised land because they were

  196. content where they were at on on their side of Jordan.

  197. They they had they went they had to go and and help the other

  198. tribes, clear the lamb. But after it was done they came

  199. back. They made a deal with Moses.

  200. They didn't want to go, they play they pleaded with him, you

  201. read the scriptures. They said basically They begged

  202. them not to make us go across the Jordan said we found this.

  203. This good land or cattle is here.

  204. Where content? Yeah.

  205. God has this Promised Land over there, but we don't want to go

  206. there. We want to stay where we're Rat

  207. and they did. They got their good place but

  208. they didn't get the better place and lots of times.

  209. We as Christians we're in that same process that we can be at a

  210. good place, but God wants to push us further into that better

  211. place. and one of the things he uses his trials, So in during

  212. trials with joy, how is this accomplished accomplished

  213. through faith? A tested Faith produces.

  214. Steadfastness. That's the only thing that will

  215. produce that fastens on life is a tested Faith.

  216. This word steadfastness here in James means to Terry behind to

  217. remain, or to abide. Means to persevere under

  218. misfortunes and trials and to hold fast to one's faith in

  219. Christ. So are tested faith.

  220. Produces steadfastness. So there's one of those things.

  221. Be careful what you pray for, you want to, you want to, you

  222. want to Jesus said, In John 10:10.

    John 10:10

  223. He gave he gave to mission statements.

  224. He gave the mission statement of our adversary the devil.

  225. Then he gave his own mission statement.

  226. He said, the Devil Comes, the thief comes only to steal kill

  227. and destroy. And then, he said, I have come

  228. to give you life and life, abundantly, our life to the full

  229. two, distinct promises, He came to give us life.

  230. He came to give us salvation, but he also came so that in that

  231. life of Salvation, we can live. Abundantly, we can live to the

  232. full in him. So, we have the choice, we can

  233. either live. We can be saved and lived.

  234. Beautiful lives. Always struggling with something

  235. or we can live in an abundant life in a life to the full, but

  236. it's up to us. We have to allow God to push us

  237. into that better place. and then we find out that says, if any

  238. lacks wisdom, Let a mass. What?

  239. Why do we need that wisdom? We need that wisdom to endure

  240. those trials. How do you?

  241. What comes about the steadfastness?

  242. The wisdom is that we remain and we abide in Christ.

  243. John 15 verses 1 through 5 says this.

    John 15:1–5

  244. I am the True Vine and my father is the vinedresser.

  245. Every branch in me that does not bear fruit.

  246. He takes away and every branch that does bear fruit, he prunes

  247. this prune prunes in this pruning is the trial that that

  248. trials that we go through that, it may bear more fruit.

  249. Already, you are clean. I get this already.

  250. Are you clean? Because of the word.

  251. I have spoken to you. So, the pruning process isn't

  252. salvation. You've already cling.

  253. The pruning process is getting this to that better place.

  254. Abide in me and I in you as the branch cannot bear fruit by

  255. itself. Unless it abides in the vine,

  256. neither, can you unless you abide in me?

  257. I am the vine. You are the branches, whoever

  258. abides in me and I in him he is it that bears much fruit for

  259. apart from me, you can do nothing.

  260. So when we seek wisdom by abiding in Christ, We produce

  261. fruit. And one of those fruits is

  262. steadfastness under trial. So count it all joy.

  263. That's why we can count it all joy.

  264. Amen. it says in verse 4, that when we endure trials that that

  265. the stet, the steadfastness produces three things, That we

  266. will be perfect complete. Lacking nothing.

  267. This word perfect means brought to its end or finished or

  268. full-grown. It's mature.

  269. The word complete means complete in all its parts.

  270. A body without blemish in the phrase, lacking nothing.

  271. Means to lag or be inferior. So, the steadfast is under trial

  272. produces in US of maturity. A body that was that's without

  273. blemish and we're not inferior. We are superior.

  274. Amen. I've said this before.

  275. A room should be better when we walk into it because we take

  276. Christ with us a man. So a room should be better if

  277. you walk into that room. Some, you know, I've said this

  278. before to some rooms are better when someone leaves but we are

  279. room should be better for us walking into that room.

  280. Amen. Because we crack, we carry

  281. Christ with us. Everywhere we go.

  282. And then last week, Steve. also, did a wonderful job of teaching

  283. about How the man who stand steadfast as blessed according

  284. to James 1:12? And why?

    James 1:12

  285. Because of his endurance? He were not be lured Away by

  286. temptation. By abiding in Christ his abiding

  287. in Christ. Allows him not to fall prey to

  288. his own desire to look for help in something else.

  289. Other than God, James chapter 1, verses 14, and 15 says that each

    James 1:14

  290. man, each one of us has drawn away and enticed by our own

  291. desire and then When sin when that when that enticement we

  292. give in and bring it brings forth the sin and then When sin

  293. is finished, it brings forth death.

  294. How do we resist that? We resist that bastard being

  295. steadfast so blessed and happy is the man who remains steadfast

  296. under trial and does not take the temptation to give in to

  297. something else, to help him. Feel better about his trials,

  298. whatever that temptation is. Lots of times, we think of, you

  299. know, alcohol and drugs. It could be, you know, a sport.

  300. It could be a hobby. It could be a relationship.

  301. Anything that you, you, you go to that.

  302. That's your piece. And you, you seek that because

  303. it gives you a peace that rely on.

  304. God, doesn't give you you make that Temptation.

  305. You make that your God. Thus.

  306. You're worshiping another God, which is idolatry.

  307. So anything we put above God that we look to that to give us

  308. peace and Tranquility that rely on.

  309. God doesn't give us is a sin. And we need that was of the

  310. things that according to Hebrews 12:1, we need to lay down a man.

    Hebrews 12:1

  311. when you are joyful During trials and remain steadfast to

  312. not be lured into sin for Action, you are being a doer of

  313. the implanted word of God, so count it all joy.

  314. When we, when we go through various trials, because it makes

  315. us complete, perfect complete, and lacking, nothing.

  316. We're blessed as we heard last week.

  317. Because we are steadfast and we don't succumb to those

  318. Temptations. so, this week, I posed the question.

  319. How does my trials help me to be a doer of God's word?

  320. Remember you have to you have to take this all in constant

  321. content in context that this is not separate from what we've

  322. already read in James chapter 1. This is all in context.

    James 1 chapter mention

  323. So how does my trials when she to think about this morning?

  324. How does your trials help you to be a doer of God's word?

  325. Well let's let's once again read here in James chapter 1 verses

    James 1:19–27

  326. 19 to 27. It says, no, this my beloved

  327. Brothers, let every person be quick to hear slow to speak,

  328. slow to anger for the anger of man does not produce the

  329. righteousness of God, therefore put away all filthiness and

  330. rampant wickedness and receive with meekness the implanted

  331. word, which is able to save your souls.

  332. But being, but be doers of the word and not hearers only

  333. deceiving yourselves. For anyone is a hearer of the

  334. word and not a doer. He is like a man who looks

  335. intently at his natural face. Looks intently at his natural

  336. face in a mirror for. He looks at himself and goes

  337. away and at once forgets what he was like.

  338. But the one who looks into the perfect law, the law of Liberty

  339. and perseveres being no here, who forgets.

  340. But a doer who acts, he will be blessed in his doing.

  341. If anyone thinks he is religious and does not Bridle his tongue

  342. but deceives his heart, this person's religion is worthless

  343. religion. That is pure and undefiled

  344. before God, the father is this To visit orphans and widows in

  345. their Affliction and to keep oneself unstained from the

  346. world. So what do we what do our

  347. trials, teach us. So what do I do, trials?

  348. Teach us. The first thing is to be quick

  349. to hear This this phrase quick to hear means to consider what

  350. is being said. And the word consider means to

  351. think about carefully. So it's it's not just hearing,

  352. but you think about what you're hearing?

  353. You're slow to speak. I can say my mouth gets me in

  354. trouble. Sometimes, amen.

  355. Anybody else have that problem that we speak before we pour, we

  356. think. We say it, and we'd like thing

  357. is once it comes out, you can never take it back a man, slow

  358. to speak and slow to anger. This is a process of enduring

  359. trials. We didn't during the trials,

  360. create steadfastness in a steadfastness of what abiding in

  361. Christ. and through that state passed since we become perfect

  362. complete and lacking nothing, And in that process this is what

  363. we're being taught quick to hear slow to speak, slow to anger.

  364. So we should be When we hear we should be hearing to consider

  365. and think carefully about what we're hearing before we speak.

  366. And then slow to anger. And this this anger here in this

  367. this text means a violent passion and implies punishment.

  368. So man, this this anger is violent.

  369. And we want to punish because of our anger and lots of times,

  370. we're here something someone wrote, you know, ruffle are

  371. feathers and we want to react We want to say something.

  372. You man. I remember a Tom. and me, and my

  373. wife were sitting in with pastor, we had our town, Across

  374. the table with another couple. That the husband was.

  375. He was a very deceitful man. and he had done some things that was

  376. very hurting and the pastor we had, he had in Good Intentions

  377. after after some time, he realized his You know.

  378. His wrongness in the situation, but he was wanting us to

  379. reconcile. And, you know, I can, honestly

  380. say sitting there, I was very choosy with my words.

  381. But what I wanted to do was take a shovel on, hit him upside the

  382. head and bury the body. That's what I would want to do

  383. at that moment. and, But God used that.

  384. In my wife and I was life. That whole circus that happened.

  385. He used us. He used that.

  386. God made it good. According to Romans chapter 8,

    Romans 8 chapter mention

  387. it wasn't good in the moment. There's things that we go

  388. through in life, that they're not good at the moment.

  389. That's not what the verse says. But God uses it for good.

  390. Amen. So quick to hear slow to speak,

  391. slow to anger. And why?

  392. Because the scripture says man's anger does not produce the

  393. righteousness of God. Man's anger does not produce the

  394. righteousness of God. So, what does being a doer of

  395. God's word will produce the righteousness of God?

  396. So how do we do this? We put away all filthiness and

  397. Rapid wickedness. This rampant wickedness.

  398. Is a spreading unchecked wickedness by, not abiding.

  399. In Christ. We're not, we're not being

  400. steadfast. We want to react, we want to do.

  401. We want to, we want to punish We've been we've been hurt.

  402. We've been wronged. and we want to, we want to lash out, we want

  403. to react but learning steadfastness under trial.

  404. We learn what Proverbs says and and the James Jones version says

  405. yes, A wise man knows when to keep his mouth shut.

  406. A wise man, knowest, when to keep his mouth shut.

  407. And we need to learn when to keep her mouth shut.

  408. And I believe that this is what its reference in here in a

  409. double-minded man, earlier on in James because the scripture says

  410. that he should not think that he will see receive anything from

  411. God. James chapter 1, verses 5 6, 7 &

    James 1:5

  412. 8, speaks of the unstable, man when you ask for wisdom.

  413. But don't you have to ask without doubting?

  414. Because a man who doubts is double-minded, he's tossed to

  415. and fro and he'll and he's in the Bible.

  416. The scripture says that man. Shouldn't think he will receive

  417. anything from God. So, we cannot be double-minded

  418. and we have to be steadfast. It says that we have to receive

  419. with meekness the implanted word of God.

  420. And it's implanted word of God Saves your.

  421. So let's let's look back at this.

  422. We often we talked about this at home groups, we talked about it

  423. in the past, past weeks, that James lots of times.

  424. People will say James is all about Works talks about save

  425. salvation by works. he says here in verse Let's see.

  426. Now, I can't find it. Diverse first 21, therefore put

  427. away all filthiness and Rapid wickedness and receive with

  428. meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your

  429. souls. This blows the concept that

  430. James teaches salvation by works out of the water.

  431. The implanted word James says, Is what saves your soul?

  432. And it's through the sanctification brought to us and

  433. in Us, by the holy spirit, being a doer of God's word is us

  434. working with the Holy Spirit. John 15 verse verse 2.

  435. We just read. It says every branch in me that

  436. does not bear fruit, he takes away and every branch that does

  437. bear fruit, he prunes that it may bear more fruit.

  438. So as we work with the Holy Spirit in the sanctification

  439. process, remember we are justified by Christ.

  440. We are we are saved but the sanctification process that can

  441. take us into life to the full. Is a is a daily for a lifespan

  442. of allowing the Holy Spirit. To sanctifies.

  443. If we bear fruit, as we are being Sanctified, we go through

  444. the pruning process. So, trials, prune, us and make

  445. us more christ-like. We bear more fruit.

  446. We look more like the image of Jesus in the mirror.

  447. Let's speak of let's look at that.

  448. Mirror says one, when we look into that mirror Calls it, the

  449. perfect law, that's what James calls.

  450. It the law of Liberty. In the ESV Study Bible.

  451. It says this, that in James, the law and the word are two

  452. different ways of describing the same reality earlier.

  453. The word of Truth in verse 18, is the gospel of Christ and the

  454. law here refers to the Old Testament law.

  455. As it has been interpreted in fulfilled in Christ though, the

  456. Old Testament law did not liberate God's people but

  457. enslaved them. As Paul tall, but the law is one

  458. of Liberty. When it comes along with the

  459. word of word of the gospel and the power of the Holy Spirit to

  460. change Hearts. Matthew Henry says this the

  461. rider shows that the proper use of the word of God is.

  462. Excuse me, the rider shows what the proper use of the word of

  463. God is who they are, who do not use it as they should.

  464. And Who they are, who make right use of it.

  465. The use we are to make of God's word maybe learn from it's being

  466. compared to a mirror in which someone looks at their face.

  467. Just as a mirror shows us the spots and blemishes on our face.

  468. So the word of God shows us our sins.

  469. It shows us what is wrong. So it may be be put, right?

  470. When we give our attention to the word of God.

  471. So as to see are true, State and condition, and dress ourselves

  472. are fresh by the mirror of God's word, we make proper use of it.

  473. He continues here. He says, we have here.

  474. An account of those who do not use the mirror of the word of

  475. they should, we hear God's word and look into the gospel mirror

  476. in vain. If we go away and forget our

  477. blemishes and forget the remedy which is the Gospel of Jesus

  478. Christ, this is the case of those who do not listen to the

  479. word as they should. He continues again, the law, the

  480. gospel is a law of Freedom, the law of Liberation, whereas the

  481. ceremonial law was a burden of slavery, it is a perfect law.

  482. And in here in the word we look into this perfect law.

  483. We look into the law Freedom as we should only, when we continue

  484. their in those who do this, who continue in the law and word of

  485. God. You are and shall be blessed in

  486. their deed. This blessedness does not lie

  487. knowing the will of God but enduring it.

  488. He says this is ending. It is not talking but walking It

  489. is not talking, but walking. Is walking out our Salvation,

  490. amen. And then let's look at the last

  491. two verses here in James chapter, 1 verses 26 and 27.

  492. Says that if anyone thinks he is religious and does not Bridle

  493. his tongue. But deceives his heart, this

  494. person's religion religion is worthless religion.

  495. That is pure and undefiled before God, the father, is this

  496. to visit orphans and widows in their Affliction and to keep

  497. oneself unstained from the world.

  498. So James is summary here, is that?

  499. We are to be living out that the blessed life, he once again.

  500. Talks about our tongue. He says, Bridle your tongue.

  501. This means to God, to hold in, check to restrain your words,

  502. which takes us back to being slow to hear, and slow to speak.

  503. He mentions a worthless religion which means the void of forced

  504. devoid of Truth, useless of no power to be a doer of the word.

  505. A doer received, the implanted word of God here did not and

  506. it's a heart. Truth that we receive.

  507. He finishes up here talking about pure religion, religion,

  508. that is pure and undefiled before God, the father, is this,

  509. to visit orphans and widows in their Affliction and to keep

  510. oneself unstained from the world. in the Old Testament, it

  511. was a huge part of God's Direction on caring for the

  512. fatherless and caring for the widows and exodus 22:22.

    Exodus 22:22

  513. You can read. You shall not mistreat any widow

  514. or fatherless child. Isaiah chapter 1, verse 17 says

    Isaiah 1:17

  515. learn to do good seek Justice, correct.

  516. Depression bring Justice to the fatherless plead, the Widow's

  517. calls. Psalm 146 verse 9 says this, the

    Psalms 146:9

  518. Lord watches over the serger nur's, he upholds, the Widow and

  519. the fatherless but the Way of the Wicked he brings to ruin.

  520. And now wanted to read something out of our study book in the

  521. Book of James. That once again we're doing at

  522. home groups, if you're not a part of Home groups I encourage

  523. you to do so if you're not in you would like more information.

  524. Get with Alan. Get with Steve you with myself

  525. and we will help you plug into our home group that we meet

  526. every every week on Wednesday nights and someone's home, we

  527. eat a meal together and then we discuss God's word.

  528. You are fine. This in our study book on page

  529. 32. It says, one of God's most

  530. celebrated characteristics in the Old Testament is his

  531. particular concern for those who are the most helpless moreover.

  532. Because he shows that kind of concern, he expects his people

  533. to do the same. We can see this very clearly in

  534. Deuteronomy chapter 10 verse 18 and 19.

    Deuteronomy 10:18

  535. Speaking of God, Moses says he executes judgment Justice for

  536. the fatherless and the Widow. He loves the surgenor given him

  537. food and clothing. And that description of God is

  538. followed immediately by this command.

  539. Love the serger. Nur therefore, For You Were

  540. Strangers in the land of Egypt. The point is simple, but

  541. crucial, the people of God should be like God.

  542. So our goal as we have studied have studied and continue to

  543. study here. In the Book of James is to Start

  544. off. Understanding what trials do for

  545. us. And if we understand that, then

  546. we can look at it with the with the Outlook of we can count it

  547. all joy because we know that somehow God is going to make it

  548. for good. So our goal should be God's goal

  549. for our lives, and that goal is to be changed into His Image.

  550. Second Corinthians chapter 3, verse 17 and 18 says this Now,

    2 Corinthians 3:17

  551. the Lord is the spirit and where the spirit of the Lord is there

  552. is freedom. And we all with unveiled face

  553. beholding, the glory of the Lord are being transformed into the

  554. same image from one degree of Glory to another.

  555. For this comes from the Lord, who is the spirit Trials,

  556. coupled with abiding in Christ and his word, the implanted word

  557. of God helps us to live out the sanctification process of the

  558. Holy Spirit. So I want to encourage everyone.

  559. When you go through your trials and we all know as a church

  560. body, we're going through a massive trial right now with the

  561. passing weenie. Kate.

  562. That we suffer and we grieve with Colin Patricia and their

  563. family. I want to encourage you to stand

  564. firm, just an absolute. and as Paul wrote in Ephesians chapter

    Ephesians 6:13

  565. 6, verse 13 and 14, there's a phrase that says And having done

  566. all to stand. You stand.

  567. You stand there for girded with the armor of God.

  568. So sometimes all we can do is all we can do and then we stand

  569. upon the word of God. Amen, we endure.

  570. We stead we stay steadfast We Stand, we don't allow trials to

  571. move us. We don't allow the situations in

  572. our life to cause us to give in to Temptation.

  573. We live that blessed life of hearing God's word.

  574. And see in it. And the longer we look into that

  575. mirror as we ran this morning, We are changed into that image,

  576. the image of Christ. That's what that's what it were

  577. is. Ritz representing the image of

  578. Christ. So the more we look into that

  579. mirror and look intently into his law.

  580. His word we are being changed. Little bit by little bit

  581. According to second Corinthians 3 into that image.

  582. Amen. Let's stand and let, lets let's

  583. pray this morning. Father, I thank you for this

  584. day. I thank you for your word.

  585. I thank you for the people that are here this morning.

  586. Father, I know that whoever is here.

  587. Our is not here by accident. so father, I just asked father,

  588. that you are help us. To look into your word to stay

  589. steadfast in you to abide in you to not.

  590. Let trials. Move us.

  591. Follow that word there and James 1:14 lured means to be lured

    James 1:14

  592. away from a safe place. Father, the Temptation that we

  593. all suffer won't when we go through, trials is to be moved

  594. away from our rightful place with you.

  595. To be lured away. So that we will not experience

  596. that. the life that you intended for us to experience, father,

  597. you have a life of joy and peace.

  598. Help us father to remain steadfast.

  599. Help us father to look into your word, help us work with the Holy

  600. Spirit to be changed into that image that image of Christ that

  601. we see through an in your word. Father help us not be content to

  602. stay at a place just because it's a good place.

  603. Cuz father, you have a better place for us.

  604. Help us. Always be working with the Holy

  605. Spirit. Holy Spirit.

  606. I asked that you would just lead and guide and direct us in our

  607. lives. For Christ said, you are a

  608. teacher. You are a God that you would

  609. teach us all trees. Help us to hear and receive

  610. those truth help us to set aside our own opinions.

  611. And only trust in God's implanted word.

  612. This morning. I just want to.

  613. I just want to say that there is anyone here?

  614. That you've heard. The truth of God's word, but

  615. you're not doing it. You haven't received that

  616. implanted word that saves your soul.

  617. I encourage you to accept Christ this morning.

  618. And if you want to talk this morning, you find you find me

  619. after service. And I will, I will talk, I would

  620. discuss with you. Jesus, we just praise you.

  621. We honor you we magnify your name.

  622. We just love you this morning. Amen.

  623. Amen.
