Hey there, friends, Welcome to Trucker's Church, your go to
-
Bible study for life on the roof, whether you're hauling
-
freight across the Rockies, cruising the back road to Texas,
-
or waiting for a load in the yard. I'm glad
-
you're here. Life of the trucker isn't for the faint
-
of heart, and if we're honest, it can be downright
-
lonely at times. And that's what we're diving into today,
-
loneliness and what God has to say about it. Now,
-
before we get started, grab a cup of coffee, or
-
just settle in behind the wheel. Let's talk about the
-
one who promises we're never truly alone. So let me
-
start with a question. Have you ever felt invisible out here,
-
like the whole world is moving around you, but no
-
one really sees you. You got miles of road ahead,
-
hours of silence, and maybe no one to call. Yeah,
-
I've been there too. It's tough, but here's the good news.
-
God sees you. In fact, the Bible is full of
-
reminders that were never truly alone, even in the loneliest moments.
-
Take Psalm thirty four eighteen, for example, The Lord is
-
close to the broken hearted and saves those who are
-
crushed in spirit. That means when you're feeling isolated, when
-
it feels like no one cares, God is right there,
-
closer than your next breath. He's the one who hears
-
you when no one else does. And then there's Deuteronomy
-
thirty one six. Be strong and courageous. You do not
-
be afraid or terrified because of them. But the Lord
-
your God goes with you. He will never leave you
-
nor forsake you. That's a promise, my friends. God doesn't
-
bail on us when the miles get long or the
-
nice get cold. He's riding shotgun with you every single day.
-
But I get it. Knowing that in your head is
-
one thing. Feeling it in your heart at another. So
-
how do we take that truth and make it real,
-
especially when the loneliness hits hard. First talk to God. Yeah,
-
I know that might sound like a Sunday School answer,
-
but prayer is powerful. When you're feeling down, Just tell
-
them say Lord, I'm struggling right now. I feel alone
-
and I need you. Second, stay connected to others, even
-
if it's hard. Maybe that means checking in with a
-
loved one when you stop for the night or joining
-
a trucking community online where people get what it's like
-
to live this life. Hebrews ten twenty five reminds us,
-
let us not give up meeting together as somewhere in
-
the habit of doing but encouraging one another. We're built
-
for connection, even if it's over a phone call or
-
a quick prayer with a fellow driver at a truck stop. Lastly,
-
get into God's word. Maybe you've got a bibble up
-
on your phone or a pocket size one in your cab.
-
Start with the they're full of wrong, honest prayers from
-
people who are no strangers to loneliness. Let's take a
-
moment to pray together. Heavenly Father, thank you for being
-
a God who never leaves us even in our lonest moments. Lord,
-
I pray for every driver listening right now. You know
-
their struggles, their fears, and their long quiet nights. Remind
-
them that you're with them right along every mile. Comfort
-
their hearts and fill their minds with your peace. Help
-
us all to lean into your promises and to find
-
ways to stay connected to others in Jesus name, maymen
-
all right. Before we wrap up us talk next steps.
-
This week, I challenge you to spend just five minutes
-
a day talking to God, maybe while you're feeling up
-
or during a quiet stretch of highway to start the conversation. Second,
-
reach out to someone a family member or a friend,
-
or even another driver. Send the text and make a
-
quick call. Let's someone that you're thinking of them. And
-
if you're looking for a way to stay connected with
-
God's word, check out the Bible app or keep tuning
-
in here. We'll keep diving in the topics that matter
-
to you. That's it for today. Friends. Remember you're never
-
alone out there. God's got you, and so do We
-
Drive safe and we'll catch you next time. On Trucker's
