Hey, friends, Welcome to Truki's Church. Whether you're out on
-
the open road, pulling over for a break, or listening
-
from home, I'm glad you're here. Today. We're kicking off
-
a brand news series, the Book of Revelation. I don't
-
let that word scare you. This isn't about fear. It's
-
about hope. Revelation isn't a mystery book meant to confuse you.
-
It's a love letter from Jesus to his people. And
-
there's been a lot of talk about revelation lately. There's
-
a lot of people who think that it may be
-
coming very very soon here in September. I don't prescribe
-
dates myself, but I think we should always be ready
-
every day. Not saying it can't happen now. I'm not
-
saying it will or it won't, but we should always
-
be ready and we should learn more about it than
-
most we can. Now, it turns out it is next
-
week and this is gonna be a very short series.
-
This will be the only one. But if it isn't,
-
then we still have a lot of work to do.
-
We need to keep studying and keep watching. So this
-
first episode is called the Unveiling of Jesus. So grab
-
your coffee, your bible. We're just listening as you roll
-
down the highway. Let's get into it. Let's do a
-
scripture reading Revelation one one through eight. This is out
-
of the New King James, the revelation of Jesus Christ,
-
which God gave him to show his servants things which
-
must shortly take place, and he sentence signified it by
-
his angels to a servant. John. Blessed is he who
-
reads and those who hear the words of this prophecy.
-
So what is revelation really about. The word revelation means unveiling,
-
like pulling back a curtain. It's not just a book
-
about the end of the world. It's about revealing Jesus
-
in glory, the King and the judge, the bridegroom, the
-
Alpha and the Omega. It's written by John the Apostle,
-
all exile on the island of Patmos, and it's written
-
to seven real churches, but also meant for us today,
-
the church in the world today, given by Jesus to
-
prepare his people and not scare them. The key verse
-
in this is Revelation one three. Blessed is the one
-
who reads aloud. The words of this prophecy, and blessed
-
those who hear it, and take the heart where is
-
written in it. This is the only book in the
-
Bible that promises it special blessings for reading. So we're
-
so used to hearing about is the general Jesus and
-
the manger or on the cross. But in Revelation John
-
sees Jesus in glory, eyes like fire, a voice like
-
Russian waters coming from his mouth, a shining like the sun.
-
This isn't the suffering, sir, This is the conquering king.
-
This is the Jesus returning for his bride. Let's look
-
at a few descriptions from Revelation one Alpha in Omega,
-
it means the beginning, in the end, faithful witness, first
-
born from the dead, ruler over the kings of the earth.
-
He's coming with clouds, and every eye will see him.
-
This is the Jesus we're waiting for. Jesus that's coming
-
back soon. John was given this vision during exile. He
-
was suffering, isolated, cut off from the churches he loved,
-
but Jesus showed up. And that tells us something. Even
-
when the world shuts you down, even when you're far
-
from others. Jesus will meet you right where you are.
-
That's a message we all need to hear out here
-
when we're tired alone and wondering where all this is going.
-
Jesus gave Revelation not just to inform us, but to
-
encourage us to endure. He's coming soon. The time is near,
-
So the question is are we ready? So let's pray,
-
Lord Jesus, thank you for your word. Thank you for
-
revealing yourself to us, not just as savior, but as keen.
-
We want to be ready for your return. Open our
-
eyes to understand what you're saying. Revelation, give us peace, hope,
-
and urgency, and help us to live each day looking
-
for your up hearing and your name. We pray Amen.
-

-

-
We're gonna still stay in our Matthew series. I'll releasing
-

-

-
your eyes on the road, your heart and the word,
-

-
we're just getting started.
