I want you to imagine for a moment that you're
-
sitting in the cab of your rig. It's two o'clock
-
in the morning. The high beams are cutting the path
-
through the thick fog somewhere in the mountains of West Virginia,
-
or maybe out on the long, flat stretches of the
-
Texas Panhandle. The only sound is the steady hum of
-
that diesel engine and the wind whipping past your mirrors.
-
You're tired, you're back aches, you've been away from home
-
for two weeks, and you're counting down the miles so
-
you can finally put into your own driveway and see
-
your wife and kids. But as you drive, you're watching
-
the signs. You're looking for the exit numbers. You're watching
-
the way station lights. You're checking the dashboard gages to
-
make sure the old pressure's right and the temperature isn't climbing.
-
You know that if you ignore the signs, you're headed
-
for wreck, you miss your turn, you're lost. Today, I
-
want to talk to you about a different set of signs.
-
I want to talk to about the signs of the times.
-
Bible says in Matthew chapter twenty four, when the disciples
-
asked Jesus, what shall be the son of thy coming
-
and of the end of the world. Jesus didn't tell
-
them to guess. He didn't tell them of the secret
-
they could never understand. He gave them specific markers, gave
-
them a roadmap. And as I look at the world today,
-
as I look at the news, as I look at
-
the breakdown of the family, as I look at the
-
chaos in our streets, I believe the low fuel light
-
is flashing on the dashboard of humanity. I believe the
-
final destination is closer than any of us realize. Bible
-
says in two Timothy three to one. This know also
-
that in the last days, perilous times shall come. Now
-
that word perilous, as the original language, means hard to
-
bear or dangerous. It's like driving a sixty thousand pounds
-
load down a ten percent grave with no breaks. That's
-
the world we're living in right now. You can see
-
it every time you walk into a truck stop and
-
look at the television. You see wars and rumors of wards.
-
You see nations rising against nations. Jesus said in Matthew
-
twenty four to seven. For nations shall rise against nations
-
and kingdom against kingdom, and there should be famines and
-
pestilences and earthquakes and divers places. People say, Brandon, there
-
have always been wars, there's always been earthquakes, and that's true.
-
But Jesus said these things would be like birth pains.
-
Ask any mother. Those pains get closer together as they
-
get more intense, as the moment of birth approaches. And
-
that's exactly what we're seeing today. The frequency and the
-
intensity of the crisis of our world are accelerating. The
-
years are grinding, and the world is shaking. There's another sign.
-
This one hits closer to home than any of you
-
out on the road. Bible says that in the last days,
-
inequity should abound and the love of many shall wax cold.
-
We see a world that's lost as moral compass. We
-
see a world where right is called wrong and wrong
-
is called right. There was a time in this country
-
when a man's word was his bond, when you could
-
trust a fellow driver, when there was a sense of
-
neighborly respect. But today there's coldness. There's hardness of the heart.
-
People are lovers of their own selves. The Bible says
-
they're disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy. You see it in
-
the loneliness of the long haul. You see it in
-
the broken marriages that plagued the trucking industry. You see
-
it in the way people treat one another at the
-
loading dogs. We have more technology than ever before. Got GPS,
-
you got satellite radio, you've got cell phones. But we
-
are the loneliest generation in human history. Why if we've
-
turned our backs on the living God, We've ignored the
-
signs to stay wrong way, and we've kept the pedal
-
to the floor. I want to ask you today, where's
-
your rig headed? Keep going the way you're going? Where
-
are you going to end up? The Bible tells us
-
that Jesus Christ is coming back. He's not coming back
-
as the baby and a manger this time, He's coming
-
back as the King of kings and Lord of lords.
-
The final Hall is on the horizon. The most important
-
question you will ever answer isn't how many miles can
-
I log today? Or how much is the fuel search ours?
-
The most important question is are you ready to meet him?
-
Some of you are running over weight. You're carrying a
-
load of sin. Has never meant for your soldiers You're
-
carrying the weight of past mistakes, the way of guilt,
-
the way of a secret life. You lead when you're
-
away from home. Been trying to climb the steep grades
-
of life under your own power, and you're able. You're
-
about to blow your engine. You're exhausted, you're burned out,
-
You're empty. Jesus said, coming to me, all the labor
-
and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
-
He wasn't talking about a nap in the sleep of birth.
-
He's talking about the rest of your soul. He's talking
-
about the peace that passes all understanding. Signs are all
-
around us. The big tree is putting forth its leaves.
-
The world's preparing for a global leader. The technology exists
-
today for the first time in history, to track every
-
person on the planet, just as the Book of Revelation predicted,
-
We're the first generation has the capability to see the
-
Gospel preach to the whole world, and to see the
-
end time prophecy is fulfilled in real time. I'm not
-
here to scare you today. I'm here to warn you
-
because I care about you. If I saw a bridge
-
out five miles on the road and I didn't try
-
to flag you down. I wouldn't be much of a
-
friend with a well. That bridge is out. This world
-
system is failing. The highways of man are leading to
-
a dead end. There is a way, Jesus said, I
-
am the way, the truth in the life. No man
-
cometh until the Father, but by me, he's the only
-
off ramp from the highway of destruction. You must say, Brandon,
-
you don't know what I've done. You don't know the
-
stops I've made. You don't know the life I've lived
-
in the dark.
-
No, I don't.
-
But God does, and he loves you anyway. He loves
-
you so much that he sent a son, Jesus Christ,
-
to die on a rowan cross for you. Jesus took
-
the penalty for your log book violations. He paid the
-
fine you couldn't pay. He died, was buried, and on
-
the third day he rose again. And today he's alive.
-
He's standing at the door of your heart knocking. Bible says,
-
behold now is to accepted time. Behold now is the
-
day of salvation. You don't know if you'll make it
-
to the next truck stop. You don't know if your
-
tires will hold for another one hundred miles. Life is
-
a vapor. It's here for a moment, and then it's gone,
-
like the tail lights of a truck disappearing into I'm
-
asking you today to pull over. I'm asking you to
-
stop running. I'm asking you to check your heart against
-
the word of God. Sound is screaming at us. If
-
the return of Christ is near? Are you ready? The
-
sky were split open right now the trumpet were to sound,
-
would you be caught up to meet him or would
-
you be left behind to face the judgment. I want
-
to invite you right now, wherever you are. Maybe you're
-
sitting in a cab, maybe you're at a diner, maybe
-
you're listening on break or even going down the road.
-
I want you to make a decision. Faith isn't about
-
joining a club or a specific building. It's about a
-
personal relationship with a person. That person is Jesus Christ.
-
It's about moving from a religion of trying to a
-
relationship of trusting. I want you to prayer, a simple
-
prayer with me, but don't just say the words, Mean
-
them from the bottom of your heart. Shift the gears
-
of your life today. Say this, Dear Lord Jesus, I
-
know that I'm a sinner. I've been driving down the
-
wrong road. I've ignored the signs. I'm carrying a load
-
I can't handle. I believe you die for me on
-
the cross and roads Again. Today I open the door
-
of my heart. I ask you to come in and
-
be my savior. Be my Lord, take the will of
-
my life. I want to follow you from this day
-
for it. Thank you for loving me. Amen. If you
-
prayed that prayer, the Bible says there is a party
-
going on in heaven right now. Your name has been
-
written in the Lamb's Book of Life, the only log
-
book that really matters in the end. Now listen to me.
-
Don't go back to the old way of driving. Find
-
a Bible, Start reading the Gospel of John, find a
-
group of believers, a church where the Bible's preached, and
-
tell someone about the decision you may road ahead might
-
still be low, weather might still get rough. You don't
-
have to drive it alone anymore. You've got a navigator
-
who knows the way because he is the way. Sounds
-
are clear, if the King's coming, make sure your lamp
-
is trimmed and burning, make sure your heart is right.
-
I'll see you at the final destination. God bless you
-
and keep the shining sat up.
-
Mm hmm. I've been rolling down this highway from there
-
three few weeks from more apart from my wife and famamily.
-
But I Lord, I'm rolling for to love and protect
-
and never forget the good Lord gave it off. I
-
don't take for granted that grace he's saying it. I'm
-
still answering the call, but he wasn't. Alais answering. I
-
needed saving. Every day miles roll since way, Grace is
-
riding shot Jo. I was lost. I was glad, so
-
hard to find from mercy track me down in time.
-
Now I'm standing in for Yeah, I believe in the blood. Yeah,
-
I believe he's in the blood now. The only way
-
I'm holding rides on the back of the street. Still
-
can't see why he died from me old the horse,
-
so be now I'm looking. That's helped my brother passing
-
on down the line, and when my savior comes from
-
me will roll on streets. It's shining because I remain.
-
I know where I came from and the man I
-
was running from by hour from sin his way, race
-
his ride and shot John. I was lost. I was blind,
-
so hard to find a Birsty track me down in time.
-
Now I'm standing in the bloom. Yeah, I believed in
-
the love. I believed in the boom. I was down
-
in my last dollar in a prayer I couldn't say.
-
Then I felt and pulled me from the dark and
-
nine being the same while from long since wait, but
-
grace is riding shot. I was lost. I was glad
-
so far to my but now I believed that like behind,
-
I'm couldn't buy I love. Yeah, I believe in the blood.
-
Down't love at home for good And I believe in
-
the blood
