  1. Hello, Illuminate Church. How's everybody doing out there?

  2. I mean, it's an exciting time to be a part of Illuminate Church.

  3. How many of you agree? Amen.

  4. I mean, it's this is in a historical time.

  5. This is something that God is doing.

  6. Amazing. How many of you remember when

  7. Israel came out of Egypt and they were going into the

  8. Promised land? That was an exciting time.

  9. We're still talking about it today.

  10. Well, I just believe that people in the future going to be

  11. talking about this time and Illuminate Church.

  12. They're to say, do you remember when we were in the high school

  13. and we moved from the high school to our new building?

  14. I'm going to even know that those conversations are going to

  15. take place. Amen.

  16. It's awesome to be here with you.

  17. I just want to give a shout out first and foremost it, you know,

  18. and Pastor Tim and Christina, they're just awesome.

  19. And I just, I really love friends like this and when we

  20. met in Israel. But it felt like I've been

  21. knowing them for years just because of the joy and the

  22. laughter. And how many of you know that

  23. Pastor Tim needs a sense of humor?

  24. He doesn't need a sense of humor.

  25. He has a great sense of humor. And sometimes you think, is he

  26. serious or is he joking? But it's just great to have

  27. great, great friends. I tell you it's somebody that I

  28. can be around and really enjoy myself and just be myself.

  29. Amen. So it's good to be around people

  30. that you can be who you are. So I just want to thank you.

  31. Thank you for inviting us today. Thank you for for all that

  32. you're doing. You, Christine, you're you're

  33. awesome and and it's a privilege and an honor to be here.

  34. I do want to introduce my wife, Carmen.

  35. We've been together for 29 years going on 30 years we that was

  36. when we met and we have a son that's 29 years old, but we

  37. didn't get married until 97. So we just celebrated our 26th

  38. year anniversary And so could you please stand?

  39. I just would like for people to see you.

  40. It's. And this is my daughter,

  41. Valerie. Go ahead and stand up, Valerie.

  42. If I'm up here, you guys are going to be the oldest too.

  43. So you can be seen this. So we got four children.

  44. We got three older boys and my son, he's ministering for me at

  45. our church. We have a 29 year old, a 26 year

  46. old and a 22 year old and we're just very, very grateful.

  47. Amen. And I do want to give a shout

  48. out to the media team. We've been watching you guys

  49. online, we've subscribed to your YouTube page and you guys are

  50. doing a phenomenal job. Can you give it up for your

  51. media team? I know a lot of times they're

  52. behind the scenes and we don't see them, but I just want you to

  53. know that Illuminate Church has an online church and there are

  54. people all over the world that are watching you.

  55. Amen. They're watching your worship

  56. team, they're watching people. So you're ministering already to

  57. the nations in and you may not, you may not know that, but I

  58. just want to give props to all of you guys because y'all are

  59. doing a phenomenal job here in Orlando, FL.

  60. It's great to be in the great state of Florida.

  61. State of Florida is leading the way in a lot of of things that

  62. are happening in our nation. So I'm just we're grateful to be

  63. here. We love we love Florida and we I

  64. don't know when the future we we may have to buy some real estate

  65. here. But anyways God is good and I I

  66. want to I want to continue on the series on the antidote.

  67. How many of you been joining the series.

  68. OK, so this is the big question. How many of you have it?

  69. Has it made changes in your life?

  70. OK, there's less hands. So we got to start using the

  71. antidote that God has given us. And you know, I was, I was

  72. praying about coming here and just really what the Lord would

  73. put on my heart because I'm, I'm ministering on the verse, I

  74. believe 14 where it says bless those who persecute you, you

  75. know, mourn with those and mourn, weep with those who weep

  76. and, you know, associate with the lowly and and, you know, and

  77. things like that. And I was just praying about

  78. what the Lord would have me bring to you today.

  79. And and it was really how to be a blessing, how to be a

  80. blessing. If you're going to bless those

  81. that have hurt us and persecute us, then we have to learn how to

  82. be that. Because as the church, we're

  83. supposed to be illuminating. Amen.

  84. Jesus says you're the light of the world, right?

  85. You're the salt of the earth. We're a city that is set on a

  86. hill. So everybody sees us.

  87. And when they come, they come hurt and then they come broken

  88. and and you know, I, I really want to give you a little bit of

  89. of who we are and where I came from.

  90. I didn't grow up in church. I didn't.

  91. I didn't know. I didn't know the Lord.

  92. I didn't know Jesus. And you know, we were young.

  93. And me and my wife met. She was 15.

  94. I was 16. You know, we had our first

  95. child. She had her first child at 16,

  96. and we just didn't, we didn't know the law.

  97. We were kids having kids. But I didn't, you know, both of

  98. my parents, they had a struggle with drugs.

  99. So you know, they were both hooked on heroin when I was

  100. growing up. And so there was a lot of moving

  101. in my life. We moved from place to place to

  102. place and all I wanted ever as a child was stability, you know.

  103. And so there was a lot of things that happened in my childhood

  104. and in my wife's childhood that really, if by the world

  105. standards, we shouldn't even be doing what we're doing today.

  106. But by the grace of God, we are where we are and we, you know,

  107. we are who God made us to be. So I'm just I'm up here today to

  108. tell you that it it doesn't matter what is happening and how

  109. you started because with the enemy meant for evil.

  110. Come on, somebody can it. I'm, I'm going to preach a

  111. little bit. I'm going to teach a little bit

  112. with the enemy meant for evil. God will turn it around and use

  113. it for good. How many of you can testify to

  114. that already And so you know I'm just Long story short I'm not

  115. going to give you the whole, I'm going to give you the the short

  116. version. But at the age of at the age of

  117. 17 I was I I got incarcerated for attempted murder.

  118. I used grew up in in gangs and doing things like that.

  119. So at the age of 17, I was incarcerated and my wife was

  120. pregnant. We were basically a a statistic,

  121. you know, she getting pregnant, me going to prison and then her

  122. having the baby at a young age, single mom.

  123. But in all of that, I know that God had a purpose because it was

  124. there that I got saved. I got, I got led to the Lord by

  125. my celly. If you don't know what a celly

  126. is, a celly is the person that bunks under you or on top of

  127. you. But he's he, he had 99 years.

  128. He led me to the Lord. He led me to the Lord in in

  129. September of 1993. So I'm at the age of 17.

  130. I weighed 117 pounds. And I was 17 years old and I was

  131. in the Harris County Jail and it was there that I met Jesus.

  132. It was there that I met Jesus. It was there that.

  133. See, let me just tell you that it doesn't matter where you go,

  134. how dark the place is. God will go with you.

  135. I said God will go with you wherever you go.

  136. It doesn't matter how dark. It doesn't mean, look, if you

  137. have a protocol that has left and you're like, oh Lord, I

  138. don't know what Jesus is going with them wherever they go.

  139. And he's not going to stop until they come back, train up a child

  140. on the way that they should go. And when they are older, they

  141. will not depart from it. I had my middle son and he was a

  142. protocol. He went out, but thank God he

  143. came back in. Amen.

  144. So I mean, you know it's it's one of those things that you

  145. know people like that. And I was telling Pastor Tim

  146. that yesterday we met with a couple there were that we met at

  147. at Lakewood Church and and they were a big part of our

  148. testimony. They they were mentors for us.

  149. And you know I went to Lakewood in 98 when me and my wife when I

  150. came out, we, you know, I try to do the right thing.

  151. I came out in 97, I mean, I'm sorry, 95.

  152. And then in 1998, my mother had an overdose.

  153. And I remember we went to the government hospital that was

  154. nearby. And I remember the ambulance

  155. took her in and we were all there and and we were waiting

  156. and we were crying and we were worried.

  157. And I remember my father telling me, look, I know where to go.

  158. Let's there's a church down the street and we went to Lakewood

  159. Church in the old building. And I remember that day I had

  160. flip flops on. I had my shorts on.

  161. I was acting like I was in Florida.

  162. I had a muscle shirt on and I have like, you know, you know, I

  163. have tattoos and stuff because you know my the way I grew up.

  164. And I remember it was a Wednesday night, we went to

  165. Lakewood Church and it was during their service.

  166. And I remember we were too embarrassed to say that my

  167. mother had an overdose. So we just told the lady at the

  168. information booth that she had a seizure and we needed prayer.

  169. And when we went in there, she took us right to the front.

  170. And that's when Pastor John Osteen Do y'all do some of y'all

  171. know who Pastor John Osteen was before Joe?

  172. Pastor John and Miss Dodi Osteen.

  173. They were right in the front. But I remember when I went into

  174. that church, the love of God hit me.

  175. It hit me in a way that I never felt before, ever in my life.

  176. And they took us right to the front.

  177. And I remember this little old lady was such love and

  178. compassion. She just embraced us and loved

  179. us. And I wept like I never wept

  180. before. And it did something to me.

  181. And there was something on the inside of me that says you need

  182. to have your family here every week from that day forward.

  183. My family was in church every single week.

  184. I'm talking to you today about being a blessing.

  185. And there are so many people in my life that have been a

  186. blessing to me because I didn't get here on my own.

  187. I said I didn't get here on my own.

  188. And wherever God has led you, wherever He is, He showed you

  189. what you're going to do. There's going to be people along

  190. the way that that God put there strategically to speak into your

  191. life, to pour into your life to love you back to health.

  192. Because I'm going to tell you something.

  193. I needed a lot of love in my life.

  194. I mean, we we we were broken. We were broken.

  195. There was a, you know that's there's a lot of different parts

  196. of our our life. But that's what I I want to I

  197. want to bring to you today. I want to, I want to bring to

  198. you how to be a blessing. You know, because when we're

  199. when people are persecuting us or when they're hurting us, it

  200. doesn't help for us to become a part of the problem.

  201. Amen. We got to be a part of the

  202. solution. We have to be able to bless

  203. instead of curse. We have to be able to heal

  204. instead of causing more pain. How many of you agree today?

  205. Come on. Eliminate church in the house

  206. this morning. Amen.

  207. So I, I, I want to, I want to read this to you.

  208. But I'm going to go ahead. I'm going to read this.

  209. I'm going to, I want to read this.

  210. I want to go back to Romans 12, but I want to read it to you in

  211. the message translation. And I'm going to start at verse

  212. 9 and I just want to lay this out.

  213. So Romans chapter 12, verses 9 through 21, it says I love this

    Romans 12:9–21

  214. and it just it's a message and it's ministers to me and I just,

  215. I want to I didn't have this apart, but I said I need to, I

  216. need to speak this. But it says love from the center

  217. of who you are. Don't fake it.

  218. How many of you heard people say fake it till you make it?

  219. Well, the worst tells us don't fake it.

  220. Love from the center of who you are.

  221. You see, Because when we learn to love, we don't have to fake

  222. it. We can be genuine.

  223. We can be real. We don't have to smile.

  224. Hey, brother. God bless you.

  225. How you doing, sister? Hallelujah.

  226. We don't have to do all that. It could be from the heart.

  227. Amen. We can do that from the heart.

  228. So it says love from the center of who you are.

  229. Don't fake it. Run for dear life from evil.

  230. Hold on for dear life to good. Be good friends who love deeply.

  231. Practice playing second fiddle. Don't burn out.

  232. Keep yourselves feud in the flame.

  233. Be alert servants of the master. Cheerfully expected.

  234. Don't quit in hard times. Hey, hey, come on, somebody.

  235. Don't quit in the hard times. Some people are probably

  236. thinking about throwing in the towel.

  237. I don't know about this church stuff.

  238. I don't know. I've been serving the Lord.

  239. It says don't quit in hard times.

  240. Play all the harder. Pray all the harder.

  241. Help needy Christians. We all got them.

  242. Be inventive in hospitality. Here we go.

  243. Bless your enemies. No cursing under your breath.

  244. Laugh with your happy friends. That's Tim.

  245. He's my happy friend. Laugh with your happy friends.

  246. When they're happy. Share tears.

  247. When they're down, get along with each other.

  248. Don't be stuck up. Come on.

  249. How many? There's There's too many

  250. Christians there. They're stuck up.

  251. We don't need to be stuck up, Christians.

  252. We need to. Here we go.

  253. We need to make friends with the nobodies and don't be the great

  254. somebody, don't hit back, discover beauty and everyone, he

  255. says. If if you've got it in you, I

  256. love this. If you've got it in you, get

  257. along with everybody. Now they're going to be some

  258. people you're not going to be able to please or going to be

  259. able to make happy. But if you got it in you, you

  260. get along. Amen.

  261. The great thing about it, when some when we're hurt we can work

  262. on us. We can't work on them, but we

  263. can work on our our response. And so don't insist on getting

  264. even. That's not for you.

  265. I'll do the judging, says God. I'll take care of it.

  266. Our scripture tells us that if you see your enemy hungry, go

  267. buy them some lunch. Or if he's thirsty, get them a

  268. drink. Your generosity will surprise

  269. them with goodness. Don't let evil get the best of

  270. you, but get the best of evil by doing good.

  271. The antidote. Amen.

  272. The antidote. So, you know, like I said, I've

  273. been meditating on this and I've been reading it and one of the

  274. things that I really feel in my heart is to is to talk about

  275. forgiveness. Okay.

  276. Now you may be here. So, like, I don't have nobody I

  277. need to forgive. Well, you just let the Holy

  278. Spirit work on you because I tell you, sometimes, sometimes

  279. the church needs it more than they preach it.

  280. Hey, man, sometimes we we, we know a lot, but we just

  281. sometimes don't walk it out. And I'm sure nobody here needs

  282. this message. It's all for the people that are

  283. not here, right. So I just want you to listen

  284. with an open heart and just allow Holy Spirit to speak to

  285. you and just ask the Lord Lord show me.

  286. But I'm going to tell you I went through some persecution, you

  287. know, with, you know, in our church.

  288. And you know, I've had some people to talk about me and try

  289. to turn people against me and hurt me and and so I was trying

  290. to do the right things. I was trying to do the right

  291. things. I said, you know, let me just

  292. let me call a meeting and let me just tell them, hey, you know, I

  293. love you. I'm sorry.

  294. And so I, you know, I did the meeting because I'm trying to do

  295. the right thing, right? I'm trying to do the right

  296. thing. And and after the meeting, I

  297. didn't feel better. I felt worse, you know?

  298. And I tried to write a letter. I said, Lord, I'm just, I'm in

  299. my prayer time. I'm, I'm going to write a

  300. letter. And I told my wife, tell me what

  301. you think about that letter. She said it doesn't really sound

  302. genuine. I said, OK, so, you know,

  303. everything I was trying to do, I was trying to do it from an

  304. external point, not an internal point.

  305. You know, have you ever just tried to do the right thing, but

  306. you really didn't feel it in your heart?

  307. And that's why I go back to that scripture that says love from

  308. the center of your heart, don't fake it.

  309. And so I just begin to do things differently and I begin to pray.

  310. And these are some of the antidotes that I'm going to get

  311. to later in the message. But I want to give you some

  312. reasons why we need to forgive. Because, you know, that's what I

  313. I've realized that even though I was trying to do the right

  314. thing, I really hadn't forgive them in my heart.

  315. Have you ever been there? Church.

  316. Have you ever been there? But the one of the main things

  317. is that we want, we need to get rid of bitterness.

  318. Because unforgiveness turns into bitterness.

  319. It turns in to bitterness. I heard a story about a little

  320. village in Africa that all the people were getting sick and

  321. they didn't understand why people are getting sick.

  322. And some of them were dying. And they've called some

  323. researchers in from the main city and they came in and they

  324. came, came and did the inspection.

  325. There was a river running right by the village, and they begin

  326. to take samples of the river and they found out that the water

  327. and the river was bad. And so they searched, and they

  328. searched, and they looked, and they looked and they went to the

  329. very beginning of the source of where it started, and everything

  330. on the surface looked good. But then they sent divers down

  331. and they found a mother pig, and her piglets had went down there

  332. and they got wedged and they had drowned.

  333. So everything that flowed from the river flowed right through

  334. their dead carcasses, and it was contaminating the rest of the

  335. river. And I begin to think how so many

  336. times when we hold on to bitterness, when we can't

  337. forgive, everything runs through that bitterness to everything

  338. else. And this is what happens.

  339. The ones that we love the most, they end up getting the

  340. byproduct of that. So my wife knows if I'm dealing

  341. with something, I get a little snappy, I get a little touchy,

  342. and I get impatient. I know, I know that doesn't

  343. happen to anybody here, just me. But you can tell and and the

  344. people around you that you love the most, you know, my daughter,

  345. your children. And so that's why it's very

  346. important that we get rid of the unforgivable.

  347. So we get rid of the bitterness because it hurts our

  348. relationships, especially those closest to you also.

  349. It's an open door. You know, it's a it's an open

  350. door to the enemy. And the enemy is looking for

  351. any, looking for a place in Ephesians that says give no

  352. place to the devil, give no place.

  353. And when? When?

  354. When we When We refuse to allow God to do what he wants to do,

  355. or to speak what he wants to speak or to say what he wants to

  356. say. If God says bless them, bless

  357. them, send them a gift, send them this.

  358. Or maybe the Lord is just telling you, you need to pray.

  359. You need to you need to ask God. You need to ask.

  360. You need to ask the guy what What's in my heart that I need

  361. to release. So and this is the thing I want

  362. to tell you because like Pastor Tim mentioned, just like you

  363. guys, we we're about to cross over into our promised land.

  364. Amen. We we we were supposed to close

  365. before we we came. But we'll be closing when we get

  366. back. And you know we bought a

  367. building and it's 3 1/2 acres and it's our promised land

  368. because we've been 12 years and we've been renting a building.

  369. But the Lord just begin to show me that were crossing over into

  370. the promised land and over there.

  371. In Exodus chapter 15 it talks about how when Moses was leading

    Exodus 15 chapter mention

  372. the children of Israel and right after they crossed over into the

  373. Red Sea. Crossed crossed through the Red

  374. Sea not over but through it. That the Bible says that they

  375. were needing water and they came to the streams of Mara.

  376. Does anybody know what Mara means?

  377. It means bitter waters, and it's amazing that before they were to

  378. go into the promised land, they had to pass through Mara.

  379. Amen. And I just began to look at our

  380. church and I began to think we need to crossover with cleans

  381. hands and a pure heart. Amen.

  382. We don't need to go over murmuring and complaining.

  383. We, you know, God brought them by there and and this is this is

  384. what's the this was the solution when when the waters were bitter

  385. and when they drunk he told God, pray.

  386. I mean Moses prayed to God and God says there's a tree throw it

  387. in there. What does the tree represent the

  388. cross. What happened at the cross?

  389. Me. And you were forgiven me.

  390. And you were forgiven. If God did it for us.

  391. Amen. Then we should be able to do it

  392. for others. That's where your healing comes

  393. from. We have to turn to the cross.

  394. And we got to look at what Jesus did.

  395. On our behalf And that's this is, it was just so significant

  396. for me that because I just declare that that illuminate

  397. church is going to this new land and you're going to be ready to

  398. love from the center of your heart.

  399. You're going to be ready to love with open arms.

  400. You're not going to look at the people of what they did, where

  401. they came from. You're going to love them

  402. because of the love of God that was poured out on you and poured

  403. out on me. Amen.

  404. And I'm telling you, the city of Orlando is going to be

  405. transformed. And you know where they're going

  406. to come. They're going to come where it's

  407. illuminated. Amen.

  408. Where the light of God is. So and the last thing I want to

  409. tell you, the reason why we need to do it is because Jesus tells

  410. us to do it. Amen.

  411. It's like, you know, it's it's, it's sometimes we think that

  412. it's hard, but God told us to do it.

  413. And we know, like I knew God was telling me to do it, to forgive.

  414. But, you know, sometimes we think it's hard.

  415. How can we do it if you don't know what happened to me?

  416. You know, not to get into a lot of details, but me and my wife,

  417. we were both abused when we were children, you know, and we had

  418. to forgive. And these are people that you

  419. still see, but it comes out of it.

  420. It doesn't. Let me just tell you this.

  421. You're anointed. You're anointed for heart.

  422. You're anointed for heart. Did you know you were anointed

  423. for heart? How many of you been filled with

  424. the Holy Ghost? So what is the Holy Spirit

  425. called? He's called a helper.

  426. So you only need help if something is hard, right?

  427. You only need help if something is hard.

  428. If you're if you're hurt and you and you need a helper.

  429. He he's a comforter. If you need direction, he's a

  430. counselor. If you need to forgive, he's

  431. there to help you. You're anointed for Come on,

  432. look at your neighbor and say you're anointed for hard.

  433. Amen. So these are some of the

  434. benefits that we know that God, that God gives us.

  435. Some of the benefits is that he tells us in this scripture we

  436. just read that when you forgive, when you let go, when you

  437. release it, God says I'll fight your battles.

  438. Amen. Now I've tried to fight my own

  439. battles and it didn't come out too good.

  440. But when I've learned to let God fight my battles, he did a lot

  441. better job than than I did. I mean, I have.

  442. I have a testimony. There was a person that was

  443. talking about me and stuff like that and and you know, I was at

  444. the church and I remember I was praying and they were speaking

  445. to this person. He's like, yeah, he said this

  446. about you. He said that about you, which

  447. none of this stuff was true. But I didn't.

  448. I wasn't trying to going to defend myself.

  449. And I never forget they were talking to another pastor and

  450. this pastor calls me out of blue.

  451. He goes, hey, what's up with so and so?

  452. And I was like, what do you mean?

  453. He's like, he said this and this.

  454. And then I told him, he said this pastor just sensed that.

  455. He says you're wrong for that. He told this other guy, he said

  456. you're wrong for that. And everything that he was

  457. trying to do just blew up in his face.

  458. But I didn't have to do a thing. Hey man, when people talk bad

  459. about you, when they make it their aim to make you look bad.

  460. God says if you just let me fight the battle for you, I'll

  461. take care of it and you come out with not even the smell of

  462. smoke. Hey man, when we learn to say

  463. God, I'm doing your will, I'm going to stay with you.

  464. I release whatever is in my heart and you just walk with

  465. God. God is going to fight your

  466. battles. And let me just tell you

  467. something, It's not just stuff in the church.

  468. It's stuff that you grew up with.

  469. These are things that we went through as children, that we had

  470. to learn how to release folks. Because as you know as well as I

  471. do, when you forgive, it's not for them, it's for you.

  472. Do you? Do you, do you agree?

  473. Now, I know that we've talked about forgiveness before in

  474. church, but I don't think that a lot of times we do a self

  475. evaluation. We think we're good.

  476. But it's something that we have to ask the Lord, Lord, show me

  477. in my heart the people that I need to forgive.

  478. So, you know, a little test is. A little test is, is.

  479. If you hear somebody talking good about somebody that hurts

  480. you and then you're tempted to say, well, let me tell you a

  481. little something you don't know about that person, then that's a

  482. little that's a clear indication something's wrong in here.

  483. Hey, man. So another benefit is that

  484. you'll keep your peace and you walk in freedom.

  485. If you do anything, if you minister to anybody, if you're

  486. there to give counsel, if you're there, then you need your peace.

  487. You know, I don't have a luxury to hold grudges.

  488. I don't have the luxury to go hide for two or three weeks.

  489. I get up and I and I administer to people every week.

  490. So I need my heart, right? I need my peace.

  491. And you know, it's torment. It's torment to hold on to

  492. things that have happened yesterday or a year ago or 10

  493. years ago. I'm free.

  494. Whom the sunsets. Free is what?

  495. Free indeed. Boom.

  496. The sunset's free. It's free indeed.

  497. So if the if Jesus set me free, then I should walk in total

  498. freedom with the spirit of the Lord is there is what?

  499. There's freedom. So as believers you know the

  500. benefit of of you walking and and and forgiveness is that

  501. you're going to have peace. The peace that surpasses all

  502. understanding. And this is the one thing that I

  503. love and we talked about it. Don't fake it, but you'll truly

  504. love without hypocrisy. I mean, again, you won't be

  505. having a smile on your face but hating your heart.

  506. Amen. When you say I love you,

  507. brother, you can really mean it. You're like, yeah, I love him,

  508. but I don't want to talk to him or I'm gonna love him from a

  509. distance or yeah, you know, or I'm not going to hang out with

  510. whatever it is Or if somebody you can hear somebody's name and

  511. it just ruins your day. Come on, somebody you can truly

  512. love without hypocrisy because how many of you know that if

  513. there's any real people, it should be the people in the

  514. church. Amen.

  515. We should be the people that reflect God's love.

  516. And and just to be totally transparent, totally honest, we

  517. know that there's a lot of times not all churches, but some

  518. churches, they don't reflect the love of God.

  519. They don't reflect the acceptance or the forgiveness.

  520. And so we need to be that church to love that loves without

  521. hypocrisy. Amen.

  522. And again, you're blessed. You're blessed.

  523. When you forgive, you're blessed, the Bible says in

  524. Matthew 511 through 13. It says, blessed are you when

  525. they revile and persecute you and and say all kinds of evil

  526. against you falsely. For my sake, he says, rejoice

  527. and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven.

  528. For so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.

  529. How many of you know when you're in good company, when they

  530. persecute you for being a blessing?

  531. Come on, somebody. Hey, man, When we were in Israel

  532. we had a terrific guide. Her name was Sonia and she did a

  533. whole study on the Beatitudes and she was talking about in the

  534. Hebrew language, that word in the Beatitudes, when it says you

  535. know you're blessed, blessed all the plore, blessed all the meek,

  536. blessed all those, he said. She said that word means you are

  537. extremely blessed when you mourn with those who mourn.

  538. You're extremely blessed when they persecute you, she says.

  539. She talked about that this being a divine reversal, which meaning

  540. that it goes against what the culture does.

  541. How many of you know that Jesus was countercultural?

  542. How many You know that we got to be countercultural, that we

  543. can't repay evil for evil, but we can.

  544. We can do good where there is evil and we can get rid of evil.

  545. Amen. So that's what she was talking

  546. about when Jesus spoke this on on that amount of of of

  547. beatitudes that he was saying don't do what the world does, do

  548. what I do. We also talked about not the

  549. external, but he said the internal.

  550. He says you have been told eye for an eye, tooth for a tooth.

  551. But I tell you the truth that when you when you hate your

  552. brother you murder him in your heart because the Pharisees

  553. thought they had to figure it out.

  554. They thought they were all square cut and they thought they

  555. didn't have any issues. But he says you do things out

  556. the external, but I'm telling you to do it from the heart.

  557. Amen. And they said, oh, you know, we

  558. don't commit adultery. No.

  559. When you look at a woman with lust, you've already committed

  560. adultery in your heart. Amen.

  561. And so it's it's just Jesus was always telling us to do

  562. something on on the inside versus the outside.

  563. So, you know, again, I just love that scripture, Romans 12/9.

  564. It says love from the center of who you are, don't fake it.

  565. Amen. So you might be hitting here and

  566. just like okay pastor, how do you do it?

  567. How, how do we get rid of all of these things?

  568. I've tried to forgive, but I still feel the same way.

  569. Well, first of all, you just, again, like you rely on the Holy

  570. Spirit. You ask the Holy Spirit to help

  571. you because you know you can't forgive on your own.

  572. You need Holy Spirit to be able to move on your life and to help

  573. you and to show you things and to remember.

  574. But I there's three little things that I want to I want to

  575. give to you. But first I just want to tell

  576. you that in Proverbs 423 it says guard your heart above all else

  577. for out of it for what? The issues of life guard your

  578. heart above all else, because out of it flow the issues of

  579. life. So we have to learn to to guard

  580. and govern our heart because the heart regulates our actions.

  581. Amen. So the first thing that I had to

  582. do in my life when I was going to, that is the first thing I

  583. had to do. I have to pray.

  584. I have to pray for this person. Amen.

  585. I have to pray for those that I have to pray for them.

  586. I mean really taking the time to pray, to speak a word, a good

  587. word. Lord, bless them, Lord, Lord,

  588. show them things. Lord, show them all the things

  589. that that you have in store for them.

  590. Lord, I pray good things. I pray that you would bless them

  591. and not curse them, and that that that you would overflow

  592. them in all of these areas of their life.

  593. I just be getting to pray for them, you see, because when when

  594. if you can't pray for somebody, you probably can't forgive them.

  595. So we got to learn to pray. We got to learn to bless.

  596. We got to learn to speak that the Bible says that power of

  597. life and death is where and your tongue and those that love it

  598. will eat the fruit thereof. So when we learn to bless, when

  599. we learn to speak a blessing over them, then you know that's

  600. just kind of the first step that I be have I I've learned to do

  601. things internally when somebody has come against me.

  602. The other thing that I do if that if I'm praying and praying

  603. that don't work, man, I just take a day of fast for them.

  604. What are you fasting for? I'm, I'm fasting for this,

  605. brother. I'm fasting for this, sister.

  606. I'm fasting because I'm just believing God, for a

  607. breakthrough in their life. You're like, wow, they're

  608. they're not worth the whole day. They're not worth me.

  609. Losing, not, not eating. You know, the Old Testament

  610. talks about the Old Testament talks about when you fast, you

  611. afflict your soul. Did you know that?

  612. So what is your soul? Your mind, your will and your

  613. emotions. You don't want to do it in your

  614. mind. You don't want to fast.

  615. You don't want that. You don't want to do it.

  616. That's part of your will and your emotions, right?

  617. Is this. I don't like them.

  618. Why would I fast for them? But these are just some things.

  619. These are principles in the word of God that God gives us to to

  620. to get it out of our system. Amen.

  621. So then you're going to, you're going to want to bless them.

  622. You're going to want to see them, You're going to want to be

  623. able to speak over them. Now, I want to just tell you

  624. this because I know that some of us have come come out of very

  625. hurtful relationships or situations.

  626. When you bless those that persecute you, it does not mean

  627. that you have to go back into an abusive relationship.

  628. Amen. You just want to get it out of

  629. your heart. You just want to be able to

  630. laugh again, learn to love again, learn to enjoy life, not

  631. not treat everybody the same. Because again, like that filter,

  632. that, that contamination, there's been people that have

  633. got hurt in church and now they they're church by, they're hurt

  634. by every church. Or maybe a Christian has hurt

  635. them and they filter that. Or maybe a woman has been

  636. mistreated by men and she treats every man that she meets or vice

  637. versa. We just want to get it out of

  638. our heart. I'm not taking it lightly from

  639. what you've been through because I've been through some some

  640. things in my life when I couldn't defend myself as a

  641. child, but I've released it and I've forgiven them.

  642. It doesn't mean that I go back into that.

  643. I don't have to go back into that.

  644. Heard a pastor counseling the lady and he had she had a lot of

  645. bitterness and unforgiveness and and he told her, he said you got

  646. to forgive. And she began to weep.

  647. She began to cry and then she stopped crying.

  648. She goes, you mean to have to go back into that relationship?

  649. He says no, you just got to let it go.

  650. Amen. Just got to let it go because

  651. God wants you free. Amen.

  652. So we pray, we fast. And this is the thing This is

  653. the point I want to get to is that we remember.

  654. We remember how much God loves you and how much he forgave you.

  655. Amen. So the antidote to that

  656. forgiveness, to being able to forgive, is to remember how much

  657. we were forgiven. And I want to take you to this

  658. word. This word has always blessed me,

  659. but it's a Luke. Chapter 7, verse 36 through 48.

    Luke 7:36–48

  660. But it was really about this woman that when Jesus was in the

  661. House of Simon this Pharisee, and he went in there and he went

  662. in there to die and he went there to sit.

  663. And this woman with an alabaster box, she comes in, she sneaks in

  664. and everybody starts talking about her.

  665. And they even said if he really was a prophet, he wouldn't know

  666. what type of woman is touching him.

  667. And here he was, he was reclining and she's she comes in

  668. and Jesus hears them or he knows what they're saying under their

  669. breath. And so he says in verse 40 let's

  670. going to go to we're going to go to Luke 7.

  671. Verse 40. So in Jesus answered him and

  672. said to him, he said, Simon, I have something to say to you?

  673. He said, see? He said say it.

  674. Teacher. He said there was a certain

  675. creditor who had two debtors, 1 owed him 500 Denari and the

  676. other 50 and when they had nothing with which to repay, he

  677. freely forgave them both. He said, tell me therefore which

  678. one of them love him more? And Simon answered and said, I

  679. suppose from the one he forgave more.

  680. And he said to him, you have rightly judged.

  681. And then he turned to the woman, and I just love this.

  682. I want you to just sit right there in that room.

  683. I want you to picture this because man, Jesus is putting

  684. that fairy on the spot and everybody else that was judging

  685. that day, he said to him, he says he turned to the woman.

  686. He says, You see that woman over there?

  687. He says I entered your house. He says you gave me the water

  688. for my feet, but she has washed my feet with her tears and wiped

  689. them with her head. He says you gave me no kiss, but

  690. this woman has not ceased to kiss my feet since the time I

  691. came in. He says you did not anoint my

  692. head with oil, but this woman has anointed my feet with

  693. fragrant oil. Therefore I say to you, her

  694. sins, which are many, are forgiven for she loved much, but

  695. to whom little is forgiven the same loves little.

  696. And then he said to her, your sins are forgiven.

  697. Let me ask you this today church how much has he forgiven you?

  698. For how much? When he saw you and he loved you

  699. and he said, how much have we been given?

  700. Because the Bible says when you've been forgiven much, you

  701. love much. But to him it was forgiven

  702. little Love's little. Now regardless of the way, if

  703. you think you've been forgiven little, we've all been forgiven

  704. a lot. Hey man, let me just tell you

  705. church, if we don't know, we were all on our way to hell but

  706. Jesus, come on. But Jesus, he left the Kingdom

  707. of God to come down to earth to give his life as a ransom for

  708. you and for me. And if if everybody would have

  709. been able to see what this woman saw and the way that she loved,

  710. they would have been different. But forgiven people Let me this

  711. is my point that I want to make that forgiven People they know

  712. how to love. Forgiven people know how to

  713. forgive, and forgiven people know how to bless those that

  714. persecute them. Amen.

  715. So in closing, I just want to say this, that unforgiveness can

  716. steal your voice, ruin your ministry, hurt your

  717. relationships, and even damage your health.

  718. I love what Paul said in Acts 2024.

  719. He said none of these things move me, nor do I count my life

  720. dear to myself, except that I may finish my race with joy and

  721. accomplish the ministry that the Lord Jesus has given me.

  722. He says none of these things move me.

  723. I'm going to tell you today, church, when you get in that

  724. place with God, none of these things will move you either.

  725. Paul was a man just like you and me.

  726. He was a human just like you and me and and the things that he

  727. went through, the things that he did in his life, he called

  728. himself the least of all the Apostle soul reminding,

  729. reminding ourselves of God's love removes the contamination

  730. from our lives. What would we look like?

  731. What would we feel like? What would we act like if we

  732. were to just let it go? How would we look at, Let me

  733. tell you something. When people when y'all move into

  734. that new building and you're going to be there, you know what

  735. people, people are going to come.

  736. They're going to be looking for the father, not the older

  737. brother. Amen.

  738. How many of you know the prodigal story, the prodigal son

  739. story? O K5 people.

  740. All right, OKI just want to give you that little the prodigal

  741. son. Think I want you to think about

  742. this. The prodigal son came home and

  743. he was he needed mercy, he he needed forgiveness, he needed

  744. grace. He needed all that.

  745. And the father was waiting for him.

  746. And when he saw him, he ran out to him.

  747. But when they begin to party and kill the fatty calf, the word,

  748. the noise got around to the older brother and the older

  749. brother refused to go in. You don't know what he did.

  750. How can he have done that and just come back home like that?

  751. How? How is it that the father?

  752. He told the father. How can you even kill the fatty

  753. calf? He says.

  754. I've been here, I've been good. I've done everything right.

  755. You haven't even killed a skinny goat for me.

  756. This is what the father told him.

  757. The father did not please the older brother, he said, Son, I

  758. love you. I love you just like I love your

  759. brother. He said we should be rejoicing

  760. because that brother of yours, he was lost and now he's found

  761. he was dead and now he's alive. He said we should re rejoice

  762. him. This is what happened and we

  763. don't see this. We don't read a new story.

  764. The father and everybody, they still went to the party.

  765. The party didn't stop because somebody was judging.

  766. Come on, somebody. The the party didn't stop

  767. because he couldn't let go. The party didn't stop.

  768. The party went on. When we don't let go, the

  769. party's still going on. When we don't let go, that that

  770. person still enjoying life. You didn't.

  771. We didn't. We don't stop nothing by holding

  772. on to it. He blessed us to be a blessing.

  773. Amen. You know, if we learned it.

  774. I tell this to our men's ministry.

  775. I always tell them if you can do it at home, you could do it

  776. anywhere. Hey, man, there's times when me

  777. and my wife used to get in our little tiffs.

  778. Come on, Have you got into the little tiff, little spats?

  779. And you know, we're laying in bed and I'm just laying on the

  780. edge of the bed and not wanting to touch her because I'm mad And

  781. she falls asleep warm and cozy. Didn't do me no good.

  782. So I wake her up. Hey, we need to talk.

  783. No, but you know, it doesn't do any good.

  784. We've learned over the years. Thank God we started at the age

  785. of 16. Come on with somebody.

  786. We got a lot of practice in, so we've learned to be quick to

  787. forgive. Amen.

  788. When we do that church, you know our life will be full of peace.

  789. None of us deserve an innocent man dying for our sins, but he

  790. did it anyway. What would illuminate Church

  791. look like to be so bright, to be so loving, to be so much joy?

  792. I'm telling you, it's going to be, it's going to be amazing.

  793. And I'm not saying that you guys are not doing.

  794. I know y'all are doing it now. But I know that God did not give

  795. me this message for everybody that's not here.

  796. I know that there's some some of you here today that you may feel

  797. like there is some things you know.

  798. First Corinth. I'll close with the scripture.

  799. 1st Corinthians 15, nine through 10.

  800. This is what Paul says is I'm the least of all the apostles.

  801. In fact, I caused so much trouble for God's church that I

  802. don't even deserve to be called an apostle.

  803. But God treated me with undeserved grace.

  804. He made me what I am and his grace wasn't wasted.

  805. I work much harder than all the other apostles, although it was

  806. really God's grace at work in me.

  807. How many of you can say that today?

  808. Amen. I want you to stand to your feet

  809. with me for a moment, and I just want to pray with you.

  810. I just want to pray with you. I'm not going to call you out.

  811. I'm not going to singing you out.

  812. But I just want this to be a time of you and the Holy Spirit

  813. just allowing the Lord to to minister to your heart with

  814. every head bound, every eye closed.

  815. I want you to ask the Holy Spirit, Holy Spirit, examine my

  816. heart and see if there's any wicked way in me, anything that

  817. I'm holding on to. Lord, that if there's people

  818. here that you know that you need to release and just allow the

  819. Lord to do a work. And I'm telling you, July 23rd

  820. will be a day that you can be free.

  821. Maybe if you're here today and you feel like I don't have

  822. anybody, that it's coming up, well, why don't you pray for the

  823. family member that you know that they're not talking.

  824. Maybe it's something that split the family.

  825. Maybe it's something that they had a disagreement about.

  826. Whatever it was. Pray for them right now.

  827. Stand in their behalf, stand in the gap.

  828. But if you're here today and you say, you know what, I want to

  829. get right with you, Lord, I want you to repeat this prayer after

  830. me. Say, Lord Jesus, I ask you today

  831. to show me the things that I need to release.

  832. Lord, I forgive those that have hurt me.

  833. I release them. Lord, I release them.

  834. I no longer hold on to the past. I know I'll no longer hold on to

  835. what is done. And Father, I pray today that

  836. you will replace the hurt with love.

  837. I thank you, Jesus, for forgiving me of all my sense and

  838. loving me just the way that I am.

  839. And I pray that I will be able to do the same for others.

  840. In Jesus name. Amen And Amen.

  841. Hallelujah. Will God bless you.

  842. I hope that today that that minister to your heart.

  843. Thanks a lot, Tim. No.
