  1. Welcome to the Illuminate Church podcast.

  2. We hope today's message is encouraging to you.

  3. Today I'm talking about faith, rest.

  4. And so if we could, let's just begin in prayer this morning and

  5. then I'll step into the message. So holy God, thank you that you

  6. are here. God, we don't need another

  7. person talking, we need Jesus. And Lord, I ask that you would

  8. do what only you can do this morning.

  9. Lord, that you would open our hearts up to your truth, your

  10. life, your way. You are all, You are everything.

  11. And Lord, I pray you would bless us to hear what you would speak

  12. into us this morning. Lord, I thank you because I

  13. believe that's exactly what you're going to do.

  14. Now if you would right there at your seat, just ask the Lord if

  15. He would speak to you this morning.

  16. Just give you a moment. And then if you would pray for

  17. me that the Lord may speak through me to you.

  18. Holy God, we love you, we trust you, we ask you to do far more

  19. than we could ask, think or imagine because that's who you

  20. are. Lord, I, I pray this knowing

  21. that that's what you'll do Thank you.

  22. God, pray this in Jesus name, Amen.

  23. So in life we know for those who have trusted in Christ that if

  24. we set our lives upon Jesus, by the way, this stands for Jesus.

  25. But if we set our life upon Jesus and we put our trust in

  26. Him, we put our faith in Him, and we build our lives around

  27. Christ, we will find abundant life.

  28. If we simply believe in what He has said and stepped into Him,

  29. we will have life. But many times in life, we can

  30. feel like things get overwhelming and we can feel

  31. like we're weighed down by the worries of the world.

  32. And so, you know, in school, we start out and we, by the way,

  33. Aaron's helping me this morning, in case you're wondering why

  34. this giant, wonderful, godly man is walking towards me.

  35. But we may feel like we start out in school and we're like,

  36. man, I got I got to get some good grades and and we might

  37. even be going through chemistry. You know, we just feel like,

  38. man, Mr. Kraft efforts just making it really complicated for

  39. me, really hard to pass this class.

  40. But we're trying to get into college and and we're just

  41. weighed down by, oh, man, what I wonder if that person who I have

  42. a crush on, I wonder if they have a crush on me.

  43. And I'm not even going to get into what happened to Jason's

  44. party last week, if you know what I'm saying.

  45. And then we get into college and now we've got to start thinking

  46. about what we're going to do with our lives and what we're

  47. going to major in. And, and we've got to start

  48. thinking about what what's going to happen next.

  49. And, and we have all these worries and concerns about

  50. what's happening with our lives. And then, and then all of a

  51. sudden we need give me one more minute.

  52. We meet that person, that special someone, and everything

  53. else just kind of fades away and the Hallelujah course starts and

  54. then we start going on a date and then we go on a lot of dates

  55. and we're like, oh man, this person's pretty great.

  56. My life is pretty great and I may be getting CS now where I

  57. was getting A's, but man, I feel like it's going pretty well.

  58. We get engaged and then we'll start thinking, oh man, I, I've

  59. got to start thinking about a really good job.

  60. I've got to start thinking about how I'm going to pay these bills

  61. and, and pay for this wedding and, and, and Oh my goodness.

  62. Then we finished college and we got to figure out what house

  63. we're going to get and we got to figure out, oh man, we were

  64. starting to have kids and what, what literally are they going to

  65. join and what are we going to do?

  66. What church are we going to join?

  67. And all the while I'm trying to pay the bills.

  68. I'm trying to keep up with Facebook and I'm trying to keep

  69. up with Instagram and I'm trying to keep up with Snapchat.

  70. And I really don't know if I even like Snapchat and and I

  71. don't know what Snapchat is, but OK, OK, OK, OK, so we can get

  72. caught up in the chaos of this world right now.

  73. It's OK. It's a part of what the the

  74. enemy tries to throw at us as a part of this Western culture

  75. that tries to throw at us this mindset of keeping up with the

  76. Joneses and trying to just keep up with life, spin all the

  77. plates. And we, we can feel chaotic at

  78. times. We can feel like we're not doing

  79. enough and we can feel like, man, I don't, I don't know how

  80. I'm possibly going to get through this next phase of life.

  81. And before we know it, the enemy is stolen, our joy is stolen,

  82. our peace, and all we feel is anxiety and chaos.

  83. And as we carry on with the Sabbath message, I wanted to

  84. show us kind of all the the stuff that we have to deal with

  85. in this life. It's not bad, but when we build

  86. our life upon Jesus, then he starts putting in what we really

  87. need and and we find that all the worries are actually just,

  88. we don't necessarily have to have them, but we can step in

  89. with Christ and let him minister his peace to us.

  90. And So what Pastor Tim is preaching in this Sabbath

  91. series, he's helping us reorient ourselves, our lives to God's

  92. rest for our lives. But this morning, what I want to

  93. encourage us in is what the foundation of Sabbath is.

  94. Pastor Tim is helping us step into embracing Sabbath rest one

  95. day a week and how that transforms our life to live from

  96. rest instead of trying to reach Forrest.

  97. But what happens if we step into Sabbath one day a week and we

  98. really don't believe in what God says?

  99. So yeah, we're not doing as many things, but our mind is running

  100. 1,000,000 miles a minute. So I want to talk today about

  101. what what the foundation of Sabbath is, which is faith.

  102. And that's really what I want to encourage us.

  103. And I believe God is calling his people in this season deeper in

  104. to faith. I believe one of the greatest

  105. struggles of the American church is this battle between faith and

  106. unbelief. And I don't believe we're really

  107. talking about it much. And so I want to step in with

  108. you all this morning. And I believe the Lord wants to

  109. release hearts of faith this morning.

  110. He wants us to embrace what he wants, which is better than the

  111. anxiety. He has peace where unbelief

  112. wants us to get stuck in anxiety so that when if we embrace

  113. faith, if we embrace faith, rest, we step into that Sabbath

  114. day. Oh man, my eyes are on you,

  115. Lord. I'm embracing your presence and

  116. your peace. And the enemy can't do anything

  117. about it. So that's where we're going

  118. today and we're going to start out in Hebrews 3, that last

  119. verse of the chapter. So just to catch us up on what's

  120. happening in this passage, the writer is referring to the

  121. Israelites and what God did to deliver them out of Egypt.

  122. So if if you want to catch up on this story, this is found, the

  123. original story is found in Exodus where God delivers Israel

  124. out of Egypt. And the story goes like this,

  125. that God in his mercy heard the cry of the Israelites as they

  126. were in slavery, they were being oppressed by Egypt and they were

  127. being a hard pressed start there, that they were treating

  128. them badly. Israel starts praying God, God

  129. delivers them. He sends Moses and through many

  130. signs and wonders. If you've ever seen the Prince

  131. of Egypt or read the book of Exodus, many signs and wonders.

  132. He delivers them out of Egypt and and draws them into the

  133. wilderness. Now the wilderness was just a

  134. holding place where he was providing for them.

  135. He's helping them. He's still miraculously giving

  136. them everything they need, preparing them for the promised

  137. land. But no matter what God did, the

  138. Israelites chose not to believe. They chose not to believe that

  139. God would do what he said He would do.

  140. And so that's where we pick up here in Hebrews 319.

  141. Hebrews 319 says it is clear that they could not enter into

  142. their inheritance because they wrapped their hearts in

  143. unbelief. And so for Israel, they, God had

  144. promised them the promised land, but they refused to believe in

  145. what God had promised them. And so they killed their ability

  146. to receive the promise because of their unbelief.

  147. And I want to encourage us this morning that this is what the

  148. enemy wants to do in our life. He wants to steal what God wants

  149. to give you by telling you, Oh well, you can't believe in his

  150. promises. By even the passive ability of

  151. not to do anything or or or consciously make the choice of

  152. faith, we embrace unbelief. Now the Israelites that first

  153. generation did not go into the promised land because they

  154. didn't believe, but the next generation did Joshua get LED

  155. them believing in God. He led them into the promised

  156. land. We're going to talk a little bit

  157. more about that in a little bit, but let's let's continue.

  158. Hebrews 41 says now the promise of entering God's rest is still

  159. for us today. So we must be extremely careful

  160. to ensure that we all embrace the fullness of that promise and

  161. not fail to experience it. Some of us are here today and

  162. we're wrestling with anxiety and, and believe you me friends,

  163. I'm preaching to me. I'm preaching to all of us here

  164. today. I am not preaching at you, I am

  165. with you. But some of us are wrestling

  166. with anxiety because we're struggling to embrace what God

  167. has said and believing that it's true.

  168. Skip down a couple more verses. Hebrews 46 says those who first

  169. heard the good news of deliverance failed to enter into

  170. the realm of faith rest because of their unbelieving hearts.

  171. Yet the fact remains that we still have the opportunity to

  172. enter into faith, rest life, and experience the fulfillment of

  173. the promise. Praise God.

  174. All right, so I got three points today.

  175. And the first one is faith is a choice.

  176. Now we see this, the Israelites, they made a choice.

  177. They, they chose not to believe. God delivered them by signs and

  178. wonders. He shows he's with them in the

  179. wilderness. He's giving them food

  180. supernaturally, He's giving them water supernaturally, He's

  181. providing for them, He's preparing them for the promised

  182. land. And when they go to scout it

  183. out, they find that there's giants in the land that are

  184. bigger than them. And instead of trusting that God

  185. will provide, they decide, Nope, we're like grasshoppers in

  186. comparison to these people. So what they say Joshua and

  187. Caleb the whole time are like, no, let's believe God.

  188. Let's go. God has given us the land.

  189. Let's do this. Can read about it in Numbers 13

  190. and 14. And and, and, and he's trying to

  191. Joshua and Caleb are trying to be like, Hey, let's believe in

  192. God's promise. And they refused.

  193. And so God says, then I will not let you into the land.

  194. So that generation, they literally died spiritually and

  195. physically, not beholding the promise because of unbelief.

  196. But then God raised up Joshua and Joshua made a choice too.

  197. Joshua chose to believe in God and God gave him this promise.

  198. If if you read Joshua one, it's beautiful.

  199. He says it again and again and again.

  200. He tells him, he says this is the key to the battle that you

  201. face. This is the choice I want you to

  202. make every day and this is what will lead you to victory.

  203. He says be strong and courageous.

  204. Do not be discouraged or afraid. Why?

  205. Someone tell me. I hear it echoed all over the

  206. room. I love that because the Lord

  207. your God is with you wherever you go.

  208. We can be strong and courageous because the Lord our God is with

  209. us wherever we go. Now this is a conscious choice

  210. that I have to make. I can't make it passively.

  211. I can't just kind of assume that it's true and then go throughout

  212. my day. I have to actively make a choice

  213. and believe. I'm walking into a meeting right

  214. now, God, and unless you show up, I don't know how this is

  215. going to go. But the Lord says He is with me

  216. wherever I go. So I'm going to believe that God

  217. is with me and I'm going to step into this meeting and the Lord's

  218. going to have his way and it's going to be wonderful.

  219. And you know what? Every time I do that, every time

  220. I put my faith in him, he opens up heavens.

  221. He does things that I, I couldn't do.

  222. And, and this is our choice to step into this life.

  223. Hear me, faith isn't a vibe, it's a verdict.

  224. Faith isn't a vibe, it's a verdict.

  225. Some of us, we feel like, well, I'm just not really feeling

  226. faith today. I don't feel that thing that

  227. makes me believe. And I want to encourage us.

  228. I'm not here to to step on toes, though.

  229. I'm probably doing that, but I'm not here to do that.

  230. I believe God wants to build us up, but He wants to build us up

  231. in this truth that we aren't feelers, we're believers.

  232. So whether I feel like I have the faith today, I can choose to

  233. believe God is true to what He says.

  234. He's true. What what He says is true is

  235. true. What He says goes, and I can

  236. step into that. I can step into his promise.

  237. And just like Joshua, he stepped onto the battlefield in the

  238. promised land and God took the promised land.

  239. God. God gave them victory in the

  240. Promised Land, gave Israel the land of Israel because Joshua

  241. LED them in faith, because they made a choice.

  242. So we, we make choices all the time, right?

  243. I, I, I choose to believe my wife when she tells me she loves

  244. me. Why?

  245. Because day after day she shows me she's so faithful, so

  246. steadfast in her love. And so I choose to believe it

  247. because it's true. On the other hand, I, I choose

  248. not to believe the news every day when they say that the world

  249. is ending, because every day the world keeps spinning.

  250. And I'm just like, I don't, I don't trust that anymore, you

  251. know? And, and so for our lives, as we

  252. look at God and his track record, we look at, OK, what has

  253. he done to prove that, that I can trust him, that I can put my

  254. faith in him. And I encourage you to look no

  255. further than Jesus, for God said, I love you so much that

  256. there's nothing I will not do to rescue you.

  257. There's nothing I wouldn't do to to redeem your life and to draw

  258. you in and to build your life in me so that you have abundant

  259. life. So I will go to any extent, even

  260. death on a cross, even to be tortured and to bleed out on a

  261. cross so that I can have a relationship with you.

  262. This is God's love for us. And it didn't stop at the cross.

  263. It continues in power. If we will step in and believe,

  264. and if we will activate our faith and choose today, I will

  265. trust in what God has said. Now point #2 like point #1.

  266. It's the opposite of point #1 unbelief is a thief.

  267. I want to unveil this for us because I, I, I think we have

  268. the wrong idea of this. But unbelief is a thief.

  269. Unbelief teams up, I believe it's a spirit, but it teams up

  270. with the enemy and and it tries to steal life from us.

  271. Now John 1010 just totally reveals the enemy's plan and

  272. God's plan and, and John 1010 says the thief, the enemy,

  273. Satan, demons, the thief comes to steal, kill and destroy.

  274. That's their plan. That's the same as Unbeliefs

  275. plan. It wants to take it all from us.

  276. But God has come. Jesus said, I have come that you

  277. may have life and have it abundantly.

  278. So the enemy's plan is to steal life from you.

  279. This is what unbelief does God's, God's desire is to give

  280. life to you abundantly. He wants it to overflow in our

  281. lives. And so when God tells us to make

  282. the faith choice, when he encourages Israel to go take the

  283. promised land and they stepped away, said, Nope, we're not

  284. going to believe you. God was wanting to give them

  285. something. God is wanting to give us

  286. something today by encouraging us to make that faith choice.

  287. Does this make sense? So there was a lady named Gladys

  288. and Gladys, she lived a difficult life.

  289. She didn't have much and in her small town she was known by her

  290. poverty and she didn't really know how to read.

  291. And one day, middle of her life, she gets this envelope and in

  292. the envelope that she can't read is a check for $20 million.

  293. A long lost relative had passed away and he was very, very

  294. wealthy and and so Gladys can't read but she loves the fancy

  295. lettering on the check and she loves the fancy numbers on it

  296. and it's one of the fanciest things she has.

  297. So she framed it and she put it on her wall in her one bedroom

  298. apartment so she was able to see it each day.

  299. And Gladys lived the rest of her life barely having enough to get

  300. by. And after her life was over, the

  301. property management team came in to clean her apartment and and

  302. they found the check on the wall that she looked at every day or

  303. walk past every day. And they were amazed that Gladys

  304. was one of the the most wealthy people that they knew of.

  305. And yet she lived as if she was penniless.

  306. And friends, I'm telling you a life that that doesn't take God

  307. at his word, that doesn't step into the promise of the Lord in

  308. us for us through his word. It is a life like Gladys because

  309. spiritually we are abundantly wealthy in His love and in His

  310. joy. And it is peace.

  311. We have total access to it. It can consume us and we can

  312. overflow with it. If we step into what He has said

  313. and we're going to, we're going to talk about how to do that in

  314. just a little bit. But Gladys, she, she doesn't

  315. know that she's a millionaire and she, she lives in ignorance

  316. of this wealth that she has access to, but doesn't know she

  317. has access to. And that's what we're unveiling

  318. today, that we have access to a heavenly love in Christ.

  319. We have access to a peace surpasses understanding.

  320. We have access to a joy that his pastor Volodymyr says.

  321. It's wonderful. It's so wonderful.

  322. But unbelief tries to make millionaires live like beggars,

  323. beggars in the faith. Unbelief tries to make our

  324. wealthy spirits in Christ what Christ has given us.

  325. I'm not talking about name it, claim it.

  326. I'm not talking about physical money.

  327. I'm talking about what we have in Jesus.

  328. Unbelief tries to steal the beauty of all that Christ would

  329. want us to receive. And God is saying, I want to

  330. give it to you if you would simply believe.

  331. So Unbelief tries to tell us, is God really with you?

  332. Have you guys ever heard these voices right?

  333. Is God really with you? Unbelief tries to get us to look

  334. at self. Unbelief is very self focused.

  335. Maybe another day we can talk about what grows in the garden

  336. of unbelief and what grows in the garden of Faith, and we can

  337. tell OK what's growing in my garden.

  338. But for today, we're going to keep it at this.

  339. Unbelief tries to tell you you aren't strong enough.

  340. Unbelief tries to tell you aren't smart enough.

  341. Unbelief tries to tell you you're less than.

  342. Unbelief tries to get you to do everything in your own strength,

  343. tries to get you to bear the weight of the world on your

  344. shoulders. Unbelief is very filled with

  345. anxiety because we it's all on us.

  346. The weight is on us. And yet faith puts our eyes on

  347. Jesus. Faith believes in what he says,

  348. for God says this is what faith says.

  349. Faith says I am. God says I am with you.

  350. And we receive that faith says, because this is what Scripture

  351. says, that Christ is strong enough and he is in you.

  352. This is Galatians 220, where Paul says there's no longer I

  353. who lives, but Christ who lives in me.

  354. So I don't have to live by my own limits anymore.

  355. I am living from the empowerment of Christ.

  356. And so are you. If we step into it, if we're

  357. willing to believe, if we're willing to believe in what he

  358. says, Faith says Christ has all the wisdom so I don't have to be

  359. enough. He will lead me.

  360. He will help me. Faith says Christ is most worthy

  361. and he is leading me. You see, Faith believes in what

  362. He can do and it allows us to lay every weight at His feet.

  363. Because I can't do it and I'm just being honest.

  364. We aren't strong enough to bear the weight of this life.

  365. But when we lay it at his feet and say, Lord, would you lead my

  366. life? And then we we say, OK, God, I'm

  367. about to do this. What?

  368. What are you saying about that? And then all of a sudden we feel

  369. this nudge in the spirit that oh man, I remember a Bible verse

  370. that talked about this and it said fear not for the Lord is

  371. with you. This is Isaiah 4110, right?

  372. Fear not for the Lord is with you.

  373. He will strengthen you and he will uphold you with his

  374. righteous right hand. Faith keeps our eyes on Jesus.

  375. OK, so I've tried to make the point strong this morning, as

  376. strong as the Lord will allow me to, that this battle between

  377. unbelief and faith is real. But how do we step in to faith?

  378. How do we step into a life of faith?

  379. And I believe eventually the answer is as we get closer to

  380. the Lord, we we grow in knowing Him and knowing His heart and we

  381. gauge our faith-based upon what His Spirit is doing in that

  382. moment. But I believe it always comes

  383. back to this because even in times where we are growing in

  384. our faith, it always comes back to this point.

  385. It begins and is grounded in believing in the Word of God.

  386. We have to believe and what God says.

  387. So Psalm 23, we know this chapter in the Scripture that a

  388. lot of us do. Anyone who's been around church,

  389. you probably heard it a lot, right?

  390. But my question is this morning, do we believe it?

  391. And and here's what God challenged me with in this in

  392. this last year. He's like, he's like, Drew, do

  393. you believe this? And I'm like, well, yeah, I

  394. believe it. You know, he's like, no, no,

  395. Drew, I want you to think about what you're saying when you say

  396. these words because for a long time I wasn't trying to, but

  397. subconsciously I was saying the Lord is my shepherd.

  398. I shall not want. He makes me lie down in green

  399. pastures. It just became a root words that

  400. that were just kind of OK, I'm reading the Bible.

  401. I'm quoting a scripture because that's what Christians do.

  402. That's what I'm supposed to do to follow Jesus.

  403. But God was challenging me. He's like, do you believe it?

  404. And I remember this one day I was I was hiking and he told me

  405. to just begin to quote Psalm 23 is like, believe it, son,

  406. believe it. And I just began to say the Lord

  407. is my shepherd. And I couldn't get past that

  408. phrase. I just began to internalize that

  409. what a shepherd does is as it stands really close to the sheep

  410. and, and the sheep or he doesn't let them out of their sight.

  411. And he, he's protective of them and he's watchful over them and

  412. he leads them to these beautiful places where they're provided

  413. for and he leads them to still waters.

  414. And and I'm like, this is what you're saying, God, that you are

  415. my shepherd, that I shall not want.

  416. And it's not about, OK, when was the last time that that I felt

  417. that way? It's not about do I feel

  418. strongly that this is true? It's deciding, do I take God at

  419. his word or not? Do I make that faith choice

  420. today and choosing to step in and say, OK, I receive you as my

  421. shepherd. You are my protector.

  422. Lord, I trust that you are providing everything that I

  423. need. You are leading me in this

  424. beautiful way. You're leading me to still

  425. waters. You're restoring my soul and

  426. then it becomes prophetic, right?

  427. Because if I believe it, I'm stepping into it.

  428. I'm stepping into what God desires for my life and for your

  429. life. I'm actually activating what

  430. God's word says. And here's how I, this is what I

  431. believe God has taught me to do. He's like, I want you just to

  432. thank me now because it's already done.

  433. Just believe it and thank me, God.

  434. Thank you that you are my shepherd.

  435. I'm going to pray this over us right now.

  436. I'm not done yet, but I'm just going to pray this over us.

  437. God, thank you for being our shepherd.

  438. If you would choose to believe this, thank you for being our

  439. provider. Thank you.

  440. They are leading us to green pastures.

  441. We have nothing to fear for. You are leading us.

  442. God, thank you. We receive you as our shepherd.

  443. We receive you as our life giver.

  444. You lead us to still waters, God, and you're multiplying

  445. life. This is why sheep needed still

  446. waters to have babies. You're multiplying life in us by

  447. leading us where you lead us. You're restoring our soul.

  448. God, thank you. Thank you that you're restoring

  449. every broken place. It's a choice to believe that,

  450. friends. Lord, thank you that you're

  451. leading us in positive righteousness.

  452. Thank you that you are are, no matter if we're on the

  453. mountaintop or in the valley low, if everything's going great

  454. or if we are in a pit of despair, Lord, you are with us

  455. so we have nothing to fear. Thank you, God, your rod and

  456. your staff, they comfort us. Thank you, Lord, the enemy can't

  457. get us because you're there. Are we willing to step into that

  458. and believe it this morning? It's a choice.

  459. We have to consciously believe it.

  460. Lord, thank you that if the enemy's stupid enough to sit at

  461. the table with us, you prepared a feast for us, God, and you are

  462. the feast, as you say, Jesus, you are the bread and you are

  463. the living water that we need. So we come and we feast with

  464. you. We feast on your life.

  465. Thank you God. Thank you, God, that you have

  466. put oil on our heads. This is the oil of the Holy

  467. Spirit, as First Corinthians 317 says.

  468. Do you not know that you are the temple of the Holy Spirit?

  469. Lord, you have anointed us with the Holy Spirit.

  470. Thank you, God, your presence is with us.

  471. Lord, thank you that the cup of life you've given us, it

  472. overflows. Thank you God, whether I feel

  473. like that's true in this moment or not, it's true in the Spirit

  474. because you're doing it. And the more I step into and am

  475. willing to make that choice to believe it, it's true, I will

  476. see it come to fruition. Let us partner with the Lord in

  477. faith. Our cup is overflowing.

  478. Would you just cut, hold out your cup of life and let the

  479. Lord fill it? He has filled it to overflowing.

  480. Thank you, God. Lord, thank you that your

  481. goodness and your mercy, we can't outrun them no matter what

  482. what we're doing. God, your presence is with us

  483. all the days of our life. We're going to dwell in your

  484. presence where life, where abundant life is found.

  485. God, thank you. We step in this morning.

  486. We believe in what you have said.

  487. I pray this in Jesus name, Amen. So what I sought to do there is

  488. to model the choice of faith that when we read the Word, I

  489. want to encourage you not to make the passive decision.

  490. So many times we can read the Word or come to church on Sunday

  491. thinking we're doing the Christian thing when when God

  492. wants us to step in with him and to be like, what is this saying?

  493. Am I willing to believe it? Am I willing to believe that?

  494. Here's my strong tower. Am I willing to believe that He

  495. is my shelter and He overshadows me with His wings, as Psalm 91

  496. says? Am I willing to believe that He

  497. is my light and my salvation? My very strength is Psalm 27

  498. says. Am I willing to believe that He

  499. is the mighty One who fights for us, fights for me?

  500. Am I willing to believe that, as Psalm 35 says, now, these are

  501. just a few promises that the Scriptures replete with them,

  502. But we will find that our lives rise in peace and in love and in

  503. joy and in the favor of the Lord if we're willing to believe what

  504. He says. And I feel like the Lord is

  505. saying to encourage you that this is not a passive choice.

  506. I know I said it already but I just want to make it clear.

  507. Unbelief is passive. Unbelief doesn't really pursue

  508. anything, it just lets gravity pull it down.

  509. But faith makes a conscious choice to step in and believe

  510. and say yes Lord, I choose to believe what you say and because

  511. of that I am filled with faith. I encourage you if you've never

  512. tried it, stretch those faith muscles, take God at his word

  513. and and here's what I want to encourage us to do today.

  514. This is the final promise and I'm going to end with a

  515. salvation call Matthew 1128. Jesus says come to me, all who

  516. are weary and heavy laden and I will give you rest.

  517. Jesus is promising rest today. Are we willing to receive it?

  518. He wants to give us life. Are we willing to receive it?

  519. The way we receive it is by receiving and believing in what

  520. He says. So if you agree with that, it's

  521. going to lead us in a quick prayer.

  522. If you would say this after me, God I lay down my anxiety at

  523. your feet. And I ask you to invade with

  524. your peace. We're talking about faith today.

  525. And I believe there are people in the room that may have never

  526. put their faith in Jesus. And he loves you, and he bled so

  527. that your sins and my sins could be paid for, so that we could

  528. have life in him. And if you would like to trust

  529. Jesus as your Lord and Savior today I'm going to lead us in a

  530. prayer. And if we could all just pray

  531. it, those who are already Christians and those who want to

  532. step into faith in him, let's say this together.

  533. Lord Jesus, I thank you for what you've done for me.

  534. By your blood, I am saved. I put my faith in you as my Lord

  535. and Savior. I step in in faith with Jesus.

  536. Yes Lord, I pray your blessing on every person here.

  537. I pray that you would bless us to make the faith choice in our

  538. life. I pray this in Jesus name, Amen.

  539. Amen. Thanks for joining us today.
