  1. So recently I picked up a new hobby.

  2. A couple years ago, I was invited to go duck hunting,

  3. having never been duck hunting before.

  4. And I got hooked and I got hooked bad.

  5. And so when I got invited, I went down into my basement and

  6. I, you know, looked at all the guns that I've been, you know,

  7. received from grandparents over the years because I've never,

  8. you know, purchased one. And all of my guns were

  9. right-handed, and I shoot left-handed.

  10. And what that means is that when you're trying to, and this is

  11. important when you're duck hunting aim, when you're trying

  12. to do that, the shells are going across your face.

  13. And so that's been, you know, a bit of a challenge.

  14. And then one of the blinds that we go to is in about 16 inches

  15. of water. And I have some muck boots that

  16. are about 17 inches tall. The problem is my the pounds per

  17. square inch can sometimes, depending on what's underneath

  18. me, can move the ground beneath me by more than it, which it's

  19. just this is where my boots went.

  20. And this is where the water. Do we get that?

  21. That's what we had. I was walking by faith.

  22. OK well this year something special happened.

  23. I was walking out of church one day and the guy said hey can you

  24. meet me over at game Masters? And I said sure.

  25. Walked over and there sitting on the counter waiting for me was a

  26. left-handed shotgun. And I can't tell you how awesome

  27. that makes me. It doesn't make me saved, but it

  28. does make me awesome. Then I was telling somebody

  29. about how now I've got my own gun, I'm not shooting somebody

  30. else's. Well, that group of people saw

  31. my challenges in the waiter game because I couldn't find any

  32. waiters that would allow me to go waiting.

  33. Well, they found them and so next thing I know I have Clayton

  34. size waiters and I have a Clayton specific gun.

  35. Like I said, it doesn't make me saved, but you are looking at an

  36. awesome person, a very, very awesome person now.

  37. And because of these two gifts, I am now able to go where I

  38. couldn't go before and do what I could not do before.

  39. And every single one of you, you need to realize you are looking

  40. at the same dude you've always looked at.

  41. But because of these gifts that I have been given, I am

  42. different. I'm able to go places I could

  43. not go before and do what I could not do before.

  44. And to those of you who have come into an intimate personal

  45. relationship with Jesus Christ, you have been given gifts that

  46. allow you to go places you could not go before and do things you

  47. could not do before. I want to welcome all of our

  48. different locations, those of you watching online and inside,

  49. and a special welcome to those of you who are here for the

  50. first time or the first time in a long time.

  51. I hope that you will swing by the new here booth in all of our

  52. lobbies before the service is over.

  53. Turn to your neighbor or type in the chat and say you're looking

  54. at a gifted person. Turn to your second favorite

  55. neighbor and say really, really gifted.

  56. First Corinthians chapter 12 verses one through 31.

    1 Corinthians 12 chapter mention

  57. It's a long pole. Let's get into it now about the

  58. gifts of the Spirit. Brothers and sisters, I do not

  59. want you to be uninformed. You know that when you were

  60. pagans, pagans, or anybody who doesn't believe in Jesus,

  61. somehow or other you were influenced and LED astray to

  62. mute idols. Therefore I want you to know

  63. that no one who was speaking by the Spirit of God says Jesus be

  64. cursed, and no one can say Jesus is Lord except by the Holy

  65. Spirit. There are different kinds of

  66. gifts, but the same Spirit distributes them.

  67. There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord.

  68. There are different kinds of working, but in all of them and

  69. in everyone it is the same God at work.

  70. Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is

  71. given for the common good. To one there is given through

  72. the Spirit a message of wisdom, to another a message of

  73. knowledge by means of the same spirit, to another faith by the

  74. same spirit, to another gifts of healing by that one spirit, to

  75. another miraculous powers, to another prophecy, to another

  76. distinguishing between spirits, to another speaking in different

  77. kinds of tongues, and to still another the interpretation of

  78. tongues. All of these are the work of 1

  79. and the same Spirit. And He distributes to each one

  80. just as he determines. Just as a body, though one has

  81. many parts, but all its many parts form 1 body, so it is with

  82. Christ. For we were all baptized by 1

  83. Spirit so as to form 1 body, whether Jews or Gentiles, slave

  84. or free, and we were all given 1 Spirit to drink.

  85. Even so, the body is not made-up of one part, but of many.

  86. Now if the foot should say, because I am not a hand, I do

  87. not belong to the body, it would not for that reason stop being

  88. part of the body. And if the ear should say,

  89. because I'm not an eye, I do not belong to the body, it would not

  90. for that reason stop being part of the body.

  91. If the whole body were an eye, where would the sense of hearing

  92. be? If the whole body were an ear,

  93. where would the sense of smell be?

  94. But in fact, God has placed the parts in the body, every one of

  95. them, just as He wanted them to be.

  96. If they were all one part, where would the body be?

  97. As it is, there are many parts, but one body.

  98. The eye cannot say to the hand I don't need you, and the head

  99. cannot say to the feet I don't need you.

  100. On the contrary, those parts of the body that seem to be weaker

  101. are indispensable, and the parts that we think are less honorable

  102. we treat with special honor, and the parts that are unpresentable

  103. we treat with special modesty, while our presentable parts need

  104. no special treatment. But God has put the body

  105. together, giving greater honor to the parts that lacked it.

  106. So there should be no division in the body, but that it's part

  107. should have equal concern for each other.

  108. If one part suffers, every part suffers with it.

  109. If one part is honored, every part rejoices with it.

  110. Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is part of

  111. it. And God is placed in the

  112. churches, first of all apostles, second prophets, third teachers,

  113. then miracles, then gifts of healing, of helping, of

  114. guidance, and of different kinds of tongues.

  115. Are all apostles Are all prophets?

  116. Are all teachers? Do all work miracles?

  117. Do all have gifts of healing? Do all speak in tongues?

  118. Do all interpret now eagerly desire the greater gifts?

  119. Paul writes this section of scripture trying to help the

  120. church in Corinth as they navigate 2 major issues.

  121. The very first challenge that they are facing is that they are

  122. a divided church. They don't get along.

  123. There's all kinds of quarrelling and fighting, and a divided

  124. church will never make the impact that a United Church can

  125. make for the Kingdom of God. And what a divided world needs

  126. to see and what a divided world needs to feel is the power of a

  127. United Church. And the second issue that

  128. they're navigating is that they're trying to make a Kingdom

  129. impact in a wildly Pagan culture.

  130. And so Paul, in this part of Scripture that we call First

    1 Corinthians 12 chapter mention

  131. Corinthians chapter 12, reminds them now about the gifts of the

  132. Spirit. Brothers and sisters, I do not

  133. want you to be say that next word uninformed.

  134. He is addressing an ignorance in their midst about the gifts of

  135. the Spirit. These are gifts that are given

  136. to people when they receive the Holy Spirit that enable them to

  137. bring glory to God, advance the mission of God, and bring people

  138. into an intimate personal relationship with God through

  139. the person and the work of Jesus Christ.

  140. And he is also at the same time, while he's informing them

  141. because he doesn't want them to be uninformed, He's going to 0

  142. in on their unity and the need of it.

  143. So he begins by talking about gifts, and one of the things

  144. that Paul brings up about the gifts is their origin.

  145. He talks to them about gift origin.

  146. Look what it says in verses 4:00 and 5:00.

  147. There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit

  148. distributes them. There are different kinds of

  149. service, but the same Lord. In other words, the gifts that

  150. you and I have, they did not come from you.

  151. They did not come from me. These are gifts that we

  152. received. They did not originate with us.

  153. The gifts that you and I have originated with Him.

  154. I'll show you in just a second why that matters.

  155. The second gift or second thing he talks about gift is gift

  156. placement. Look what it says in verse 11.

  157. All these are the work of 1 and same and the same Spirit.

  158. He distributes them to each one just as he determined.

  159. That means that not only does the gift that you have, did it

  160. not come from you, but you did not pick your gift.

  161. You were given your gift. What this means for you ladies

  162. is that you did not go to the gift mall and go, oh, I like

  163. that one. It means that if you wanted a

  164. particular gift but you didn't get it, it was because you

  165. couldn't afford it. And so you had to buy the knock

  166. off fake version of the real thing that you actually wanted.

  167. So you look to other people like you could afford the thing that

  168. you don't actually have. It's like that's not how it

  169. happened either. It means that when you showed

  170. up, they didn't have to worry about whether or not they had

  171. this gift in your size or not, whether it was on sale or not.

  172. No, the gift that you have, you didn't pick out.

  173. It was given specifically for you.

  174. That means that these gifts that originated with God, there are

  175. no knock offs, there are no value brands.

  176. He picked it out and He placed it in you.

  177. So far you have had this much to do with your gifting.

  178. He made it, not you. He placed it.

  179. You didn't pick it out. And then he talks about gift

  180. design. These gifts that you and I have

  181. been given, they are powered by God for the good of others, to

  182. be used alongside others. What it says in First

    1 Corinthians 12:6

  183. Corinthians chapter 12, verse 6 is this.

  184. There are different kinds of working, but in all of them and

  185. in everyone, it is the same God at work.

  186. In other words, a spirit given gift is to be is designed to be

  187. used by spiritual people to do spiritual things through the

  188. power of the Holy Spirit. Every single one of you.

  189. When you guys buy a car, your car either runs on diesel, gas,

  190. or grid. It's one of those three things

  191. that your vehicle runs on. The gifts that you have received

  192. require God to be the one doing the work.

  193. Your gifts are not powered by you, they are powered by Him.

  194. And so trying to do spiritual things without the Spirit's

  195. power is a disaster. And wanting to do spiritual

  196. things without spiritual power is dangerous.

  197. The Spirit's power shows up in our lives most times outside of

  198. your comfort zone. Sometimes you've heard me talk

  199. about this. Sometimes people go I don't feel

  200. God or I don't see him working anymore.

  201. That's because you don't need the spirits power to be

  202. spiritually lazy. You don't need the spirits power

  203. to operate in your comfort zone. If you read through the book of

  204. Acts, you'll hear them say we are praying for boldness.

  205. Boldness requires you to be outside of your comfort zone.

  206. And when these people would step out of their comfort zone, the

  207. Holy Spirit would show up in a mighty and powerful way.

  208. You don't need the Spirit's power to live a life of sin.

  209. You don't need the Spirit's power to be a bad example of

  210. Christ in your home. But you do need the power of the

  211. Holy Spirit to be the person that God has called you to be in

  212. your workplace and in your home. So if you are not sensing or

  213. feeling the power of the Holy Spirit in your life, there is a

  214. high probability that you are not doing anything that requires

  215. His presence. And if you don't need His

  216. presence, you certainly don't need His power.

  217. You want to feel the power of God flowing through you and

  218. through your gifting. All you have to do is start

  219. doing something for the Kingdom of God.

  220. The gift that you have is designed to run on the power of

  221. God, and it is designed for the good of others.

  222. Verse 7 says. Now to each one the

  223. manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good.

  224. In other words, your gift is not for you, but for those around

  225. you. Remember that Jesus said that

  226. the greatest among you will be your servant.

  227. Our gifts are not for our own glory, but for the Kingdom good.

  228. It's how we do the first and second greatest commandment.

  229. First greatest commandments, love God with all your heart,

  230. mind, soul, and strength. Second greatest commandments,

  231. love your neighbor as yourself. In order to do those things,

  232. love God well and love others well, you're going to need the

  233. power of the Holy Spirit. And there's a gifting that He

  234. has placed in you to help you accomplish it.

  235. The next thing He says is that your gift is designed to be used

  236. alongside others. Every time I pick one of these

  237. up, you can tell by the way that it is that it is designed to go

  238. with something else, to work with something else.

  239. Verse 12 says just as a body, though one has many parts, but

  240. all its many parts form 1 body, so it is with Christ.

  241. Your gift by itself is not enough, no matter how much you

  242. may want it to be and no matter how much all the other gifts may

  243. frustrate you. The gift that God has given you

  244. is not enough unless it is surrounded and alongside other

  245. gifts. This is part of the reason why

  246. you cannot live the Christian life in isolation.

  247. That's why over and over again, the Bible tells us and commands

  248. us to do certain things for and with our brothers and sisters in

  249. Christ. The problem is any time you get

  250. a group of people together with different kinds of giftings,

  251. there is a risk for disunity. You want to know why sometimes

  252. there's problems in your home, problems in your workplace,

  253. because a bunch of different people with different kinds of

  254. gifts have a hard time operating in unity.

  255. And Paul lays out three major problems when it comes to the

  256. unity of our gifting envy, projection and rejection.

  257. Gift envy, gift projection and gift rejection.

  258. Check out gift envy. Gift envy looks at their own

  259. gift and then they go, I don't like my gift.

  260. I wish I had somebody else's gift.

  261. I mean, of all of the different gifts we've put up here so far,

  262. this one's just so much tinier than everybody else's.

  263. It's not as cool as everybody else's.

  264. I wish I didn't have the gift that God gave me.

  265. I wish I had somebody else's gift.

  266. Verse 15 and 16. Now if the foot should say

  267. because I am not a hand, I do not belong to the body, it would

  268. not for that reason stop being part of the body.

  269. And if the ears should say because I'm not an eye, I do not

  270. belong to the body, it would not for that reason stop being part

  271. of the body. Your attitude devalues your gift

  272. and it will diminish your participation and it will cut

  273. off your ministry impact. If your gift is missing, all the

  274. parts of the body suffers. Imagine here you are being the

  275. ear and you're going, why did God make me an ear?

  276. Everybody loves the eyes. Nobody has ever been on a date.

  277. And then later on telling the story about what was the date

  278. like? No guy has ever said, well, I

  279. got to be honest with you. We're sitting there eating a

  280. nice meal, having a great conversation.

  281. I was kind of on the fence, but then she went like this and I

  282. saw those lobes and I said to myself, I want to look into

  283. those lobes for the rest of my life.

  284. Nobody's ever said when you're like, doing a quiz about your

  285. wife, what's their lobe shape? But if I were to ask you what

  286. color her eyes are, you know it. Everybody remembers the colors

  287. of the eyes. Now, flip side, here's the ear

  288. going hey, nobody. Nobody's paying attention to me.

  289. I don't get the same kind of feedback that the eyes do.

  290. I don't want to be a part of the body no more.

  291. However, if you want to say sweet things to her, eyes aren't

  292. all that helpful. You're going to want to make

  293. sure that she has ears to hear it.

  294. Ladies, let me, for those of you who are young, let me just give

  295. you some help real quick at all of our locations, if you have

  296. thought about your back this week, raise your hand.

  297. OK, there, there's some of you being honest.

  298. Those of you who didn't raise your hand don't know what I'm

  299. about to talk about. But those of us who did raise

  300. their hand, we know that back problems are a real thing.

  301. And if I were to go back in time and God were to make me not a

  302. dude, and God were to make me a girl, and I was going to try and

  303. figure somebody to marry, the number one thing I'd look for

  304. is, are there back problems in their family tree?

  305. That's the number one. Because a guy with back problems

  306. is going to end up spending the rest of his life on a lazy boy

  307. recliner sleeping there because he can't get up.

  308. Early in Jennifer Knight's marriage, my back went out.

  309. Like early in our marriage. And I had made it to the

  310. bathroom and I had sat down and it was at that moment that I

  311. realized that was as far as I was going to be able to take

  312. this journey so young. And now I am 6 foot 6 and a lot,

  313. and my wife is 5/3 and 1/3 of a lot.

  314. And so I am early in my marriage, You know, think about

  315. how romantic this is. Hey, babe.

  316. So my wife has to come in and help lift me off of a toilet.

  317. Oh, yeah. Oh, see, something to look

  318. forward to now. You're going to.

  319. Yeah. I think I am going to look for

  320. back problems. In fact, when I meet her dad,

  321. I'm just going to punch him in the back and see how he

  322. responds. Smart.

  323. Very, very smart because you don't realize how important your

  324. back is until you decide to do something with a bad back.

  325. You can't tie your shoes with a bad back.

  326. You use your back for everything.

  327. You can't brush your teeth if you have a bad back.

  328. You can't open a car door. You can't turn around and flush

  329. if you have a bad back. You can't wipe if you have a.

  330. All of a sudden people are going.

  331. I really need to start looking in this back stuff.

  332. Listen, back stuff doesn't kill you.

  333. Hard stuff will. If you're going, I want out of

  334. this, find the guy with the high cholesterol, but the decent

  335. back, because the guy with the decent back is going to live

  336. forever. He's just going to drink

  337. Mountain Dew and sit on the couch.

  338. Like, I can't get rid of this guy.

  339. Look for the back stuff. If the back leaves now, nobody,

  340. nobody in the summer is taking Instagram summer vacation photos

  341. with the back. Oh, no, they're not.

  342. Seriously, take a picture, take a picture in my back.

  343. All the girls all they care about is the six pack in the

  344. front. You need to be worried about the

  345. backpack in the back because 6 packs 100% disappear backs.

  346. They last forever until they don't.

  347. And the back might be going. Nobody cares about me.

  348. Nobody gives me the kind of praise that everything else

  349. gets. But did you know that the back

  350. is holding absolutely everything together?

  351. You might look at your gift and go, Nobody cares about my gift

  352. like they care about every other gift.

  353. But if you were to pull your gift out of the equation, the

  354. body of Christ would not be what it is supposed to be.

  355. Nobody realizes how important their big toe is until you break

  356. it and you're like one toe. And now I can't walk.

  357. Second issue, Gift projection. Gift projection.

  358. This is where, Oh my goodness, if you want to know which one I

  359. struggle with, this is it. Gift projection.

  360. For those of you who have ever said why can't more people be

  361. like me? You struggle with gift

  362. projection. Why can't more people in my

  363. family think like me? How come more people don't vote

  364. like me? How come you, no matter where

  365. you are in the world, there are moments in time situations where

  366. you're going. Why is this so hard for you?

  367. I'll tell you why. Because you are operating in

  368. your gifting and when you are operating in your gifting,

  369. things make complete sense. But somebody else does not have

  370. the same gifting that you have, and so there's going to be

  371. frustration. Look what it says in verse 17

  372. through 20. If the whole body were an eye,

  373. where would the sense of hearing be?

  374. If the whole body were an ear, where would the sense of smell

  375. be? But in fact, God has placed the

  376. parts in the body, every one of them, just as He wanted them to

  377. be. If they were all one part, where

  378. would the body be? As it is, there are many parts

  379. but one body. If everybody had the same gift

  380. as you watch this, your gift would be diminished and the body

  381. of Christ would become useless. This is the challenge that you

  382. have in your marriage. You and your wife are having to

  383. go through a particular season, a particular circumstance with a

  384. particular kid, and both of you are approaching the issue from

  385. your gifting. And the argument that you are

  386. having is about which gift wins. And because there's not unity,

  387. watch this, your kid is robbed of both gifts.

  388. This happens at work real quick. How many of you at all of our

  389. different locations, you work on the factory floor and sometimes

  390. you get frustrated with the people in management or in

  391. corporate. Raise your hands.

  392. Nobody's being honest because their boss started to come to

  393. church. I get it.

  394. OK. OK.

  395. How many of you who work in the C-Suite or work for corporate or

  396. in the management office sometimes get frustrated with

  397. the people on the floor? Those people are more honest,

  398. more job security, I'm guessing. OK, the reason why is is the

  399. people on the floor see things differently and the people in

  400. the management office see things differently.

  401. They don't see them wrong, they see them in their gifting.

  402. So what happens is if your factory was all welders, lots

  403. would get made, no one would get paid because there's nobody

  404. upstairs in the air conditioned office.

  405. If the entire office was accountants and the payroll

  406. department, nothing would get made and nobody would get paid

  407. because nothing got made. So what you actually need is you

  408. need everybody showing up with their giftings and working hard

  409. to work in Unity. Gift rejection is the next one

  410. that Paul brings up. Gift rejection says I don't need

  411. other gifts. First Corinthians chapter 12

    1 Corinthians 12:21

  412. verse 21 the I cannot say to the hand I don't need you, and the

  413. head cannot say to the feet, I don't need you.

  414. But God has put the body together so that there should be

  415. no division in the body, but that it's parts should have

  416. equal concern for each other. If one part suffers, every part

  417. suffers with it. If one part is honored, every

  418. part rejoices with it. What a prideful position to

  419. think that you are enough, that your gift is enough, that you

  420. and your gifting can be the full expression of the power of God

  421. to accomplish His mission. You see, we need every gift on

  422. full display if we are going to make this region the hardest

  423. place on planet earth to get the hell from.

  424. Why does this matter? Because if you don't acknowledge

  425. your gift, use your gift. Make sure that your gift is

  426. powered by the Holy Spirit. The body of Christ will never be

  427. what it's supposed to be because it will be missing you.

  428. Paul says in first Corinthians chapter 12 verse 27.

    1 Corinthians 12:27

  429. He says now each one of you are the body of Christ.

  430. Each one of you is a part of it. When you and I, every single one

  431. of us, bring our gifts together and do the hard work of

  432. operating in unity with all of our gifts on full display

  433. through the power of the Holy Spirit to accomplish the mission

  434. of the Holy Spirit, we present the most accurate expression of

  435. Jesus in our region. And without you, our expression

  436. of Jesus in this region is incomplete.

  437. When God made you and when you came into relationship with him,

  438. He put his Spirit inside of you and a gift inside of you.

  439. And right now, if you were to ask me, what does our world and

  440. what does our region need? It needs a more beautiful and

  441. powerful picture and expression of Jesus and it will never

  442. happen unless 1 you are part of it and two, we figure out how to

  443. operate in unity with it. I hope you'll think about that.

  444. We're moving to a time of decision.

  445. To those of you that are in here or watching online that have

  446. never started an intimate personal relationship with you,

  447. everything I just talked about is about the gifting that you

  448. received from the Holy Spirit. Now you receive the Holy Spirit

  449. after you come into an intimate personal relationship with Jesus

  450. Christ. So right now, so far in the

  451. message, you haven't heard anything about a gift for you.

  452. But I've got really good news. When Jesus shows up, He gives

  453. gifts to everybody. And so can I tell you about the

  454. gift that He wants to give you today because there is a gift

  455. and it is a special gift, a life changing gift, and the gift is

  456. the gift of salvation. Romans chapter 623 lays out a

  457. beautiful picture. It says the wages of sin is

  458. death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our

  459. Lord. Hear me wages, sin, death.

  460. The gift of Jesus Christ is eternal life with God.

  461. There are two paths that He's put in front of us, and you get

  462. to pick the path. 1 is where you get to keep doing whatever you

  463. want to do, however you want to do it, and there's a price tag

  464. over you doing whatever you want to do.

  465. You're going to sin and the payment for those sins is that

  466. somebody has to die. Or you could say I don't want to

  467. live the way I've been wanting to live and do what I've been

  468. doing. I don't want to have to pay the

  469. price for the things that I've done, and I don't want to

  470. experience and suffer death and separation from God.

  471. So on behalf of us and because of His love for us, God offers

  472. us a way out. And it's the exact opposite of

  473. everything He just laid out. Instead of wages, something you

  474. earned, He shows up with a gift, something you did not deserve.

  475. And what is contained in this gift?

  476. The opposite of sin, Jesus. And what do you get?

  477. The opposite of death, you get eternal life.

  478. Jesus shows up and he says, look man, you can choose, you can

  479. choose wages, death and sin, or you can choose gift, Jesus and

  480. eternal life. Which one do you want?

  481. And for me, that was an easy answer.

  482. That was like the Staples easy button where like the only thing

  483. I wanted was all of them. That was easy.

  484. I just wanted him. So hear me.

  485. When you come into a relationship with Jesus Christ,

  486. it is a gift that he gives to you.

  487. The question is whether or not you will receive it.

  488. You can earn it, but the only one thing that you will ever

  489. earn is you will earn your way into hell or you can receive the

  490. gift that we did not deserve, that we did not earn, that was

  491. given to us in Jesus Christ on the cross.

  492. Somebody has to die. And for the Christian, it's not

  493. us, it was him. The wages of sin is death.

  494. And the good news is, is that somebody did die.

  495. He died on our behalf. He died in our place.

  496. And so if you're here today and you've never started an intimate

  497. personal relationship with Jesus Christ, do not put it off any

  498. longer. Through the power of the Holy

  499. Spirit today, say yes. Say I'm ready to live for him

  500. right now. In just a few moments, the

  501. people around you are going to stand and sing and people are

  502. going to come to the steps and pray.

  503. And I'm hoping that some of you, we'll either turn to the person

  504. that brought you, the person that you're sitting next to, or

  505. walk right over there underneath that screen, next to the Baptist

  506. screen and say today's my day. I've been putting it off for way

  507. too long. To the rest of you in this room,

  508. to those of you who already have our relationship with Jesus

  509. Christ, hear me. This region needs you.

  510. The mission of God in this region is too big and too great

  511. for it to miss out on your participation.

  512. The people in this region need to know that there are people

  513. who are serious about helping people find an intimate,

  514. personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

  515. And so maybe today you haven't been using your gift the way you

  516. were supposed to use your gift because you've been too upset at

  517. God for the gift that he gave you.

  518. Maybe today you need to repent for being frustrated to how you

  519. see God use other people instead of letting God use you.

  520. Maybe you need to realize that you haven't been using your gift

  521. at all and it's time for you to get in the game and go how can I

  522. make a difference? Maybe some of you, your pride

  523. has kept you from seeing the value of other people's gifts

  524. and you need to spend some time repenting and saying, God help

  525. me to just be thankful for what you've given me and work well

  526. with the people that you've put in my life.

  527. I am all the way sold out unapologetically that we are

  528. going to make this region the hardest place on planet earth to

  529. get the help from. I hope you'll join me.

  530. Would you stand with me? God, I thank you so much for

  531. this church, for this season of ministry.

  532. And God, we need this moment right here.

  533. We needed to re clarify our purpose.

  534. We need a chance to recommit to the mission and God, we don't

  535. need it for just us and for the people in this room, but for all

  536. the people that aren't here and all the people that don't know

  537. you. So God in faith, I'm coming to

  538. you and I'm asking that you would make it abundantly clear

  539. for every person in this room what it is that you want us to

  540. do and God that you'd give us the courage to do.

  541. In your name I pray. Amen.
