  1. It's impossible to be a parent on a car ride with your kids

  2. without eventually being confronted with one of the

  3. age-old car questions that kids ask.

  4. And here it is. If you were an animal, what

  5. animal would you be? Take a second turn, Your

  6. neighbor, the one you like? Answer the question, if you had

  7. to pick which animal, which animal would you be?

  8. I'm I'm watching some of you guys are a little embarrassed by

  9. what you just heard. This, it's going to be tough.

  10. We asked at multi site. We asked the staff that were in

  11. there for the day. If you were going to be an

  12. animal, which animal would you be?

  13. We got some dolphins and some whales.

  14. I've never heard that before. That was interesting.

  15. Someone picked a Flamingo and another person picked a turtle.

  16. They're not going to last, but we were thankful for their

  17. honesty. We we had a person pick a duck

  18. to which I replied, don't fly over Pike County.

  19. There were a couple people who picked an eagle.

  20. Come on, America. I was like, that's good, That's

  21. solid. And who doesn't love flying?

  22. I like it. But you know the well, there was

  23. also a wolf, but you know, the predominant family of animals

  24. that were chosen. We had lions, tigers, snow

  25. leopards. Two different people said they

  26. wanted to be a Panther. And a lot of these were fellas,

  27. which I found interesting because for as much as men hate

  28. cats, secretly you want to be 1. My answer to this question has

  29. always been the same, all the way back in junior high.

  30. So if you could be an animal, what would you be?

  31. Easy silverback gorilla. That is 100% my position.

  32. You're just strong. You eat whatever you want.

  33. You seem like you have a pretty good life.

  34. But I had to ask the Internet, is the gorilla the ultimate apex

  35. predator? Because that's what I want to

  36. be. I want to be an apex predator.

  37. Comes find out. They would lose to the lion.

  38. They would lose to the tiger, but the apex predator is the

  39. polar bear, which is now my new, that's my new answer.

  40. I'm done with silverback gorillas.

  41. I'm now on team polar bear. Would it surprise you that the

  42. animal that you would choose for you is completely different than

  43. the animal that God would choose for you?

  44. And the animal that he has for you didn't make anyone's list.

  45. I want to welcome all of our different locations.

  46. Those of you watching online, those of you who are part of our

  47. inside family, specifically those of you who are at our 48th

  48. St. location or Macomb or Kirksville, 929 Pike County,

  49. Hannibal, Lima, Mount Sterling, Keokuk, Monmouth, Jacksonville,

  50. Weaver. We are so thankful to be a part

  51. of this ministry alongside each and every single one of you.

  52. Today we are starting a new series designed to help you grow

  53. in your love and appreciation for God.

  54. The sermon series is called same name.

  55. Turn your neighbor and say same name.

  56. I've heard lots of times, you've probably heard it as well, that

  57. there are people who struggle with the God of the Old

  58. Testament and they'll say things like I just I have a hard time

  59. with the God of the Old Testament.

  60. Well, what's surprising to me is that the people in the Old

  61. Testament had a completely different view of God than we do

  62. of the God of the Old Testament. In fact, the names that they

  63. gave God run contrary to the narrative professed by modern

  64. day critics and skeptics. And I thought it might be a

  65. little helpful for us to allow the people of the Old Testament

  66. to tell us what the God of the Old Testament was actually like.

  67. And what you'll find is that the God of the Old Testament is the

  68. same God in the New Testament. It's the same God with the same

  69. name because he is still offering the same power and the

  70. same promise, if you're willing to receive it.

  71. So what animal would God choose for you?

  72. A sheep. And I know what you're thinking.

  73. Please, no, not a sheep. Yeah, a sheep.

  74. The dumbest animals in the animal Kingdom.

  75. Let me just walk you through the stat sheet on sheet.

  76. No defensive weapons, no offensive weapons.

  77. Poor sense of direction. They wander, they get lost.

  78. Add to that, they don't have the ability to clean themselves.

  79. You've heard me talk about my golden dummy, Suge.

  80. Suge, When he goes outside after it's rained and he, you know,

  81. does his number one and his number 2, the golden dummy comes

  82. back in the house and he lays down and he will clean himself

  83. all night long so that way he can present himself to the world

  84. like he's like a chick getting ready for work in the morning.

  85. Like that's sugar. Sugar can clean himself all

  86. night long. Not a sheep.

  87. Sheep have zero ability to clean themselves, so their thick coats

  88. collect dirt, hold and sweat and without somebody pulling them

  89. aside and shearing them, they will become heavy laden and

  90. overheat and die. You've heard me talk about this

  91. a bunch. That we have a tendency to take

  92. all the stupid pills in the medicine cabinet that like we

  93. love a good stupid pill. Do you know who really loves

  94. stupid pills? Sheep.

  95. It's their favorite meal. So since sheep are defenseless,

  96. dirty, susceptible to attack, and cannot take care of

  97. themselves, they need something that nobody else in the animal

  98. Kingdom needs. Sheep need a shepherd.

  99. And so God has always raised up leaders, shepherds, to take care

  100. of His sheep, His people. Look what it says in Psalm 78.

  101. He chose David. What was David?

  102. David was a shepherd, his servant, and took him from the

  103. sheep pens. What was he doing in the sheep

  104. pens? He was shepherding from tending

  105. the sheep, from shepherding the sheep.

  106. He brought him in to be the shepherd, the leader of his

  107. people, Jacob of an Israel, his inheritance.

  108. And David shepherded them, LED them with the integrity of

  109. heart, with skillful hands. He led them, He shepherded them.

  110. And God takes the care of his people so seriously that he

  111. pronounced judgment on the leaders of Israel for not

  112. shepherding, leading the sheep, the people.

  113. Look what it says in Ezekiel chapter 34.

    Ezekiel 34 chapter mention

  114. The word of the Lord came to me, Son of Man, prophecy against the

  115. shepherds of Israel, prophecy and say to them, This is what

  116. the sovereign Lord says. Woe to you, shepherds of Israel

  117. who only take care of yourselves.

  118. Should not shepherds take care of the flock?

  119. You eat the curds, clothe yourself with the wool,

  120. slaughter the choice animals, but you do not take care of the

  121. flock. You have not strengthened the

  122. weak or healed the sick or bound up the injured.

  123. You have not brought back the strays or searched for the lost.

  124. You have ruled them harshly and brutally.

  125. So. They were scattered because

  126. there was no shepherd, and when they were scattered, they became

  127. food for the wild animals. My sheep wandered over all the

  128. mountains, on every high hill. They were scattered over the

  129. whole earth, and no one searched for them or looked for them.

  130. And for some of you at our different locations today or

  131. watching online, this is your story.

  132. Your father was supposed to be a Good Shepherd to you, but he

  133. wasn't. Your mom was supposed to take

  134. care of you. She didn't.

  135. Your parents were to watch over you and protect you, and instead

  136. they only cared for themselves. There's no doubt that there are

  137. some women in attendance today who you have lived with.

  138. A man who was selfish, harsh, brutal in his dealings with you.

  139. There are many, I'm sure across this region.

  140. If you were to describe the status of your soul, you could

  141. use the word scattered. And you feel like no one came

  142. looking for you. And I want you to hear me say

  143. this. God takes what happened to you

  144. personally and He does something about it.

  145. This is Ezekiel 34. You know, Old Testament, the

  146. book that nobody reads. Look what God says in response,

  147. verse 11, same chapter. For this is what the sovereign

  148. Lord says. I myself will search for my

  149. sheep and look after them as a shepherd looks after his

  150. scattered flock when he is with them.

  151. So I will look after my sheep. I will rescue them from all the

  152. places where they were scattered on the day of clouds and

  153. darkness. I will bring them out from the

  154. nations and gather them from the countries, and I will bring them

  155. into their own land. I will pasture them on the

  156. mountains of Israel, in ravines, and in all the settlements in

  157. the land. I will tend them in good

  158. pasture, and the mountain heights of Israel will be their

  159. grazing land. There they will lie down in good

  160. grazing land. There they will feed in rich

  161. pasture on the mountains of Israel.

  162. I myself will tend my sheep and have them lie down, declares the

  163. sovereign Lord. I will search for the lost,

  164. bring back the strays, bind up the injured, strengthen the

  165. weak. This is the God of the Old

  166. Testament. This is not someone off moment

  167. or one off metaphor either. Over and over and over again in

  168. the Old Testament, we see God establishing his relationship

  169. with his people as a shepherd with his sheep.

  170. Most notably, perhaps the most famous piece of all Scripture is

  171. found in the Old Testament in Psalm 23.

  172. Now, before we read it, the mission of this church is to

  173. help people find an intimate, personal relationship with Jesus

  174. Christ. And you may at some point in

  175. time have somebody come up to you and go, well, where is that

  176. in the Bible? Psalm 23 is the answer to that

  177. question. If somebody were to come up to

  178. you and say, I think I would like an intimate personal

  179. relationship with Jesus Christ, I just don't know what that

  180. looks like. What does an intimate personal

  181. relationship with Jesus Christ look like?

  182. The answer to that question is 6 of you are smarter when somebody

  183. goes, the mission of this church is to help people find an

  184. intimate personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

  185. Where would I go to see what that relationship looks like?

  186. All you have to do is go to now. So many of you are smarter.

  187. Now watch. We're going to walk you through

  188. what life with Jesus looks like and what you're going to find

  189. out is it's really stinking good.

  190. Psalm 23 The Lord is my shepherd.

  191. I lack nothing. Right off the bat you and I get

  192. a name, a title given to God and for God from David, the name

  193. Jehovah Rohi. God is my shepherd.

  194. Now that is good news right there.

  195. You want to know why? Because a shepherd has a job and

  196. his job is to take care of his sheep, that means that not only

  197. has God handled my eternity, but He is caring for me in my

  198. reality. I know a lot of people that were

  199. hoping that their job would take care of them only to find out it

  200. wouldn't. I know a lot of people who are

  201. hoping that their health would pull them through only to find

  202. out that it wouldn't. I know people that were hoping

  203. and they looked for a spouse who would take care of them only to

  204. find out that they were not strong enough to handle their

  205. deepest needs nor powerful enough to handle their greatest

  206. longings. If you go looking for a shepherd

  207. and you get the wrong one. But I have never seen anyone

  208. trust in God and be let down. I've never seen a cry of the

  209. heart that missed his ear. I've never seen a person who

  210. trusted in him put to shame. I've never seen a person who

  211. built their life on him not be able to survive the storms of

  212. life. Verse 2.

  213. He makes me lie down in green pastures.

  214. He leads me beside quiet waters. He refreshes, restores my soul.

  215. This means that he takes me to the places that he knows I need

  216. the most. He knows my deepest longings.

  217. He knows my greatest needs. And he knows where to get them

  218. taken care of of. And in doing so, he refreshes

  219. and restores my soul. And you might be going, but

  220. Clayton, I don't think he's doing that for me.

  221. Oh, yeah, he is. Maybe you didn't realize it.

  222. Maybe you showed up for ADBS. It's the DBS you've been going

  223. to for a while. But for some reason on that

  224. particular day, at that particular DBS, it was on the

  225. subject matter that you had been struggling with.

  226. And you went, boy, that's a coincidence.

  227. It wasn't. It was God saying, come here, I

  228. have green grass and good water for you.

  229. I'm about to restore your soul. It's when you're having your

  230. anchoring time and a verse that you didn't know you needed jumps

  231. off the page. It's a word of encouragement

  232. from somebody that you didn't see coming.

  233. It's the worship song at the end of the service that you didn't

  234. know and you didn't know how bad you would end up needing it.

  235. That was God pasturing you, watering you, restoring and

  236. refreshing your soul. Here's why this is good news.

  237. This takes the burden of you off of you, and it puts the burden

  238. of you on him. And when the burden of you is

  239. off you and it's on Him, this leads to peace and to rest.

  240. But the only way you and I are able to access this is through

  241. faith. When you begin to trust that

  242. God's ways are above your ways and you allow Him to be your

  243. Shepherd, what's He do next? He guides me along the right

  244. paths for His namesake. I don't know about you, but I

  245. can find the wrong path on my own.

  246. I don't need Agps to get lost. I can do.

  247. I can do that right now. And since I like to go through

  248. life fast, not only can I get lost fast, I can go the wrong

  249. way for a long time fast. You know what you need though?

  250. If you're going, I'm tired of going the wrong way and I want

  251. to start going the right way, you and I need the exact same

  252. thing. We need divine direction.

  253. If my heart longs to walk in the ways of God, I need somebody to

  254. guide me. And if I have Jehovah Rohi, I

  255. have a shepherd who will guide me along the right path that I'm

  256. supposed to take. Verse 4, Even though I walk

  257. through the valley or through the darkest valley, I will fear

  258. no evil, for you are with me. Your rod and your staff, they

  259. comfort me. This is the part of the message

  260. that gets a little depressing. There's only three types of

  261. people in the world, people who are coming out of the valley.

  262. Those are the happy people. There's people who are in the

  263. valley and there's people who are about ready to walk into it.

  264. Which means that only about 1/3 of you right now showed up to

  265. church today going, man, God got me through.

  266. The other third of you are in it, and the other third of you

  267. are like, oh Dang it, it's going to be a rough week.

  268. We're not coming out and we're not in it.

  269. Yeah, you're going to bump your head.

  270. Here's the good news. Watch, watch, watch.

  271. Let me clear this up for those of you who are watching.

  272. Like health and wealth, people being in an intimate, personal

  273. relationship with Jesus Christ does not mean you don't have

  274. valleys. It means you have Jehovah Rohi

  275. in the valley with you. Valleys are tough.

  276. Valleys are incredibly tough. The sunsets the fastest in the

  277. valley. It rises the slowest in the

  278. valley. Valleys are by nature dark, and

  279. it is impossible to outrun the shadows.

  280. But when you are in Christ, when God is your Jehovah, Rohi,

  281. instead of looking at the shadows, you can look at the

  282. shepherd. Verse 5 You prepare a table

  283. before me. In the presence of my enemies,

  284. you anoint my head with oil. My cup overflows.

  285. Surely goodness and love will follow me all the days of my

  286. life, and I will dwell in the House of the Lord forever.

  287. This means I have nothing to fear.

  288. If I have Jehovah Rokie, I could dine in the presence of those

  289. who desire my destruction and have No Fear, knowing that

  290. Jehovah Rohi is my protection. I grew up on the water.

  291. We would go up to a place in Iowa and we would go boating and

  292. we had a blast and then we moved down here.

  293. We started trying to make it as often as we could down to the

  294. Lake of the Ozarks and you guys can have all the beaches you

  295. want. Give me the lake.

  296. I am a lake guy. And I like going out, but I know

  297. what people say when they go to the Lake of the Ozarks, those

  298. big boats make it impossible for you to enjoy your time.

  299. That's just because your boat ain't big enough.

  300. Because you get on the right kind of boat, you're like giddy

  301. up, but you're out there. And I get it, the boats flying

  302. by and their weight comes and it hits you and you're, you're

  303. laying down on like those expensive Styrofoam things that

  304. people marketed you for like 1000 bucks and you're taking a

  305. nap. And then you accidentally get

  306. waterboarded by yourself because the the weight comes through and

  307. you inhale all. I get it, I get it, I get it, I

  308. get it. But what's happening is David is

  309. showing us that as you and I go through life, you and I leave

  310. awake just like a boat. There is stuff that is coming

  311. off of you. And I got to ask you kind of a

  312. tough question. What's in your wake this week?

  313. When you were in the office, you're having a tough

  314. conversation with some people you work with.

  315. When you left, were your Co workers going?

  316. Was that was that goodness and love that I just experienced?

  317. We were getting ready for Valentine's Day.

  318. Everybody's got high hopes, trying to keep everybody happy

  319. in the house. But you started a bit of a

  320. conversation that turned into a bit of an argument.

  321. And when the argument was over, was your spouse going goodness

  322. and love right there? Yeah, No, on my own.

  323. The wake you and I produce, hear me, is not the wake we want.

  324. This is Romans 7. There is a good that you and I

  325. want to do that we do not do. But the thing that we do not

  326. want to do, we keep on doing. So we nobody wants to make their

  327. spouse angry, especially during Valentine's Day week.

  328. But sure enough, the good you want to do, you don't do.

  329. And the thing you don't want to do, you end up doing, and your

  330. spouse is left with. And I'll let you fill in the

  331. blank, but when God is your Jehovah Rohi, and he leads you

  332. on the past that you're supposed to go in, and he takes you to

  333. where you're supposed to feed, and he takes you to where you're

  334. supposed to get water. And your soul, soul is

  335. refreshed. What leaves behind you when you

  336. are with God is goodness and love.

  337. I can stop this sermon right there.

  338. But we said that this sermon series was called the same name.

  339. Why? Because it is the exact same

  340. God, with the exact same power, offering the exact same promise.

  341. Can I take you to the New Testament?

  342. To Jesus when he's talking? He says this in John chapter 10.

    John 10 chapter mention

  343. See if you notice the similarity.

  344. I am the Good Shepherd. I know my sheep, and my sheep

  345. know me, just as the Father knows me and I know the Father.

  346. Let me pause right there. God knows you as well as he

  347. knows God. Jesus knows you as well as he

  348. knows God. He has a perfect understanding

  349. of you. All the good you want to do, all

  350. the bad you don't want to do. Watch and all the bad that you

  351. do, and all the bad that you do, that nobody else knows.

  352. He knows you perfectly. And I lay myself down for the

  353. sheep. How good is this shepherd?

  354. He knows just how bad and evil you are and still is willing to

  355. lay his life down for you. That's a Good Shepherd right

  356. there he goes on verse 9. I am the gate.

  357. Whoever enters through me will be saved.

  358. They will come in and go out and find pasture.

  359. The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy.

  360. I have come that they may have life and have it to the full.

  361. I am the Good Shepherd. The Good Shepherd lays down his

  362. life for the sheep. Jesus came to be your Jehovah

  363. Rohi. He laid his life down on your

  364. behalf so that you could experience the fullness of his

  365. abundant life. Like I said, it is the same name

  366. because it's the same God with the same power offering the same

  367. promise if you're willing to receive it.

  368. I want to take just a a quick moment and just honor our

  369. English teachers that are with us all across this region day.

  370. And the reason I want to honor you is because nobody likes you.

  371. You don't teach the cool subjects like math.

  372. Like nobody's walking up to somebody going, man, that's a

  373. good reader right there. That's a good writer.

  374. That's a great sentence structure.

  375. How's your kid doing in school? Oh, yeah.

  376. He's taking honors math. Nobody's saying he's writing

  377. complicated paragraphs. Yeah.

  378. We get you and we say stuff, and then you correct us.

  379. And then we stop inviting you places.

  380. God bless the English teachers. But this, this is all about the

  381. English teachers because if you were to hang out with an English

  382. teacher and we were talking about the Lord is my shepherd,

  383. what they would tell you as that the word is, is present tense

  384. means that something is happening right now and tense

  385. makes all the difference. Nobody, nobody would be talking

  386. about how good Psalm 23 is if David wrote that in the past

  387. tense, the Lord was my shepherd. That just doesn't hit the same,

  388. does it? That's just not the same kind of

  389. thing because a past tense provision in a present tense

  390. need will not pull you through. And past tense power in a

  391. present tense pain is not what you're praying for.

  392. There are a lot of you right now that that was how you would

  393. probably describe your relationship with Jehovah Rogi

  394. past tense. That's the song you're writing.

  395. That's your Psalm 23. And then you came down with an

  396. awful case of the used to's. You used to follow God.

  397. You used to seek him in prayer. You used to seek his counsel.

  398. You used to submit to his ways. You used to follow his voice.

  399. And I just got to ask you, how's that working for you?

  400. We teach here at the crossing that God's way is the best way.

  401. So if you're walking your way, it's not his way, which means

  402. you are not walking the best way.

  403. Thank you. There's some of you.

  404. If you were to write Psalm 23, it would be future tense.

  405. God will be one day my shepherd, just not this day.

  406. This is where it gets tough. I'm glad you're here, but this

  407. is going to hurt. You're going.

  408. I want to get right with God. I just need a little time.

  409. I just need to get it together. And I need you to hear me say

  410. this clearly. That is satanic thinking.

  411. It's demonic watch God wants you to be in relationship with him

  412. right now. So anything that is keeping you

  413. from starting a relationship with him right now is satanic

  414. because what does Satan want you to do?

  415. He wants you to delay getting right with God or Satan wants

  416. you to think that you have to fix you before you can get with

  417. God, which takes the gospel and rips it of its power because we

  418. are made right because God sent his son to make us right so we

  419. could be right with him. But if you think that you have

  420. to get you fix before you can get right with God, that means

  421. that somehow you are your own savior.

  422. That's from Satan. Satan wants to deny you of the

  423. ability to access the cross, and he wants to rob you of the

  424. ability to see the power of the cross.

  425. And so he gets you to say, maybe next week he gets you to say,

  426. one of these days. The problem with one of these

  427. days I'll get right with God is sometimes one of those days

  428. never actually comes. One of these days of your life

  429. is snatched from you. Life changes in an instant.

  430. There's some of you you're going.

  431. I want to get right with God. I just kind of like sinning and

  432. listen, I get that. I've never had a bad time

  433. sinning. Sinning's not like broccoli like

  434. I guess I got to go sin today. Nope, it's it's not like that

  435. Sin is fun. I've never been in the middle of

  436. my sin and been like, this is the worst.

  437. Not once. All of it feels good in the

  438. moment. It feels good to win in an

  439. argument. And you Can you imagine being

  440. married to me? I mean, you guys comp on me that

  441. I can put some words together. Can you imagine me in an

  442. argument? I'm great.

  443. And I'm like, well, that was wicked.

  444. That was good. That was some wordsmithing.

  445. It rhymed. And then afterwards you're like,

  446. nobody wants to be around me. It's the after sitting that's

  447. tough. It's what happens after I choose

  448. to step into sin because the invitation to sin is always

  449. good. It just never leads to good

  450. places. And so some of you are going, I

  451. kind of like God's forgiveness and I kind of like sin, which

  452. means you don't really like Jesus.

  453. You want to be close enough to the fire to get warm, but not

  454. close enough to get changed. You don't actually fully regret

  455. who you are outside of him and don't realize who you can be in

  456. him. So David writes, the Lord is as

  457. Tony Evans says, we have a right now God.

  458. You know why that's good news. That means that right now I have

  459. access to salvation. Not in the future, not in the

  460. past. Right now means I have right now

  461. access to hope, right now access to peace, and right now access

  462. to power. It means that right now I am no

  463. longer my responsibility. I am my shepherd's

  464. responsibility because the Lord is my shepherd, which makes me

  465. his sheep. But is he your Shepherd?

  466. We're moving to a time of decision.

  467. To those of you who are in the room or watching online,

  468. everything we just talked about lacking nothing, restoring

  469. souls, being guided, directed, experiencing His presence, His

  470. power and His protection in the valley are there for the taking.

  471. And we spent so much time talking about the Lord is that

  472. we didn't spend nearly enough time in the sermon talking about

  473. the next two letter word, which is equally important.

  474. My, my shepherd. It doesn't matter if your friend

  475. can say it, if your mom can say it, if your grandma said it, if

  476. your grandpa said it. The question is, can you say it?

  477. Can you say, Jehovah Rohi, the Lord is my shepherd?

  478. And if today you haven't started that relationship with him, I

  479. got really good news for you. Today's a good day to start.

  480. And in just a few moments, all around this room, they're going

  481. to be people who are going to stand up and they're going to

  482. sing and worship, and there's going to be other people who are

  483. going to come to the steps and pray.

  484. And while they are doing that, you can walk right over there

  485. underneath that screen next to the baptistry and you can talk

  486. to somebody. If you don't want to do that,

  487. look across the room and go, I know somebody here and go and

  488. talk to that somebody about how you can start that.

  489. So you can say this sentence, the Lord is my shepherd because

  490. if he is your shepherd, He will lead you wherever he is going to

  491. be. And the Bible says that he is

  492. with the Father. And if you want to be with the

  493. Father when you die, you better make sure you have a shepherd

  494. right now to the rest of you in the room, to those of you who

  495. already know who Jesus is. Since Jesus is a shepherd,

  496. Shepherds tell shepherds stories, and one of his favorite

  497. and most famous shepherd stories is found in Luke chapter 15,

    Luke 15:3–7

  498. verses 3 through 7. Many of you have heard it.

  499. Then Jesus told them this story. Suppose one of you has 100 sheep

  500. and loses one of them. Doesn't he leave the 99 in the

  501. open country and go after the lost sheep until he finds it?

  502. And when he finds it, he joyfully puts it on his

  503. shoulders? This is where we get the Hobby

  504. Lobby pictures, right here. So he picks it up when I watch

  505. joyfully. What do you think about God?

  506. Not only does he look for you, but when he shows up, he is not

  507. showing up with condemnation. He is joyfully putting you on

  508. his shoulders to take you home. And then he calls his friends

  509. and his neighbors, and he gathers them together, and

  510. that's what he says. Rejoice with me.

  511. I have found my lost sheep. That's the kind of shepherd he

  512. is. Maybe you've been wandering off

  513. from him. He came looking for you.

  514. Verse 7. Then he explains it.

  515. I tell you that in the same way, there will be more rejoicing in

  516. heaven over 1 Sinner who repents than over 99 righteous persons

  517. who do not think they need to repent.

  518. One of the things is if He is your shepherd and He is come

  519. looking for you and He has found you in your sin, He has found

  520. you in your wandering, maybe today what you need to do is you

  521. need to repent. You need to start a party in

  522. heaven. There's a sin that you've been

  523. carrying for way too long. There's a thing you can't seem

  524. to let go. There's an area where you're not

  525. trusting Him. There's a sin you're clinging to

  526. heaven that throws a party when God's people repent others of

  527. you. You've been wandering for a long

  528. time, and for some reason you find yourself here today.

  529. That was God searching for you. Will you allow Him to put you on

  530. His shoulders and take you to the throne room of God?

  531. Would you stand with me? Heavenly Father, help us to be

  532. about your mission of finding the lost sheep.

  533. Help us to trust you and silence the voice of Satan in our lives

  534. and in our spirits so we can follow your voice.

  535. God, help us to trust you more and more each day.

  536. Grow our faith and our dependence in you and God.

  537. Right now, all across this region, you know what every

  538. single person is navigating, what every single person is

  539. struggling. You know exactly what it is that

  540. they need to do. And y'all, we're asking in

  541. faith. And not only would you show us

  542. what we're supposed to do, but give us the faith to do it.

  543. Your name, I pray. Amen.
