All right, well, happy Easter. This is like the celebration
-
for the biggest celebration for all of Christians. Why he
-
has risen, right, Jesus has risen. That's the greatest news ever.
-
Jesus showed that he has the power over sin and death,
-
that that the grave can't hold him. Amen. He rose
-
from the grave and he's resurrecked now. And what does
-
that mean? That proves that every single thing that he
-
said was true, Every single thing that he said is true.
-
And he said, I'll prove it to you all raised
-
from the dead. And we know about it because we've
-
been talking through Jesus predicting or foretelling his death and
-
they're like, I don't know what he's talking about. It
-
doesn't make any sense. But he now he did it.
-
Everything that he said was going to happen. That's what
-
we're celebrating on Sunday, on Easter Sunday. Amen, it's amazing
-
that we can put faith and trust in everything he
-
said is true because he proved it by raising from
-
the dead. And those who put faith in Jesus or
-
who believe in him, not only do we have hope
-
for today, which is a very comforting and encouraging thought.
-
We have hope for today, but eat much more importantly,
-
we have hope for forever. Right, we have hope for forever,
-
that we will be raised with him and death and
-
live forever in perfection with him. But if Jesus never
-
raised from the dead, then we have zero hope. If
-
he didn't raise from the dead, we don't actually have
-
any hope. And Paul says in one Corinthians fifteen, if
-
Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile and
-
you are still in your sins. So praise God that
-
Jesus resurrected. Right, Praise God that he resurrected. Praise God
-
that our faith is not futile. It's not worthless. Our
-
faith does mean something. Praise God that all our sins, past,
-
present and future were forgiven when we put faith in Jesus,
-
when we believe in his death, his burial, and his resurrection. Amen.
-
That has nothing to do with today's text, just Easter Sunday,
-
So I just want to make sure we got to
-
talk about it. We're actually going to be in Luke
-
chapter nineteen. We're starting chapter nineteen today, so make sure
-
you grab your bible start turning there. If you don't
-
have a Bible. We have a bunch of them at
-
the resource desk in the lobby. We'd love for you
-
to take that and keep it because we want you
-
to have the Bible. It's very important to us. So
-
we're going to be reading through verses one through ten today.
-
We'll read our text and we'll pray, and then we'll
-
start getting into it. Luke, Chapter nineteen, Verses one through ten.
-
He entered Jericho and was passing through, and behold there
-
was a man named Zacchius. He was a chief tax
-
collector and was rich. And when he was and he
-
was seeking to see who Jesus was, But on account
-
of the crowd, it could not because he was small
-
in stature. So he ran on ahead and climbed up
-
into a sycamore tree to see him, for he was
-
about to pass that way. And when Jesus came to
-
the place, he looked up and said to him, Zacchius,
-
hurry and come down, for I must stay at your
-
house today. So he hurried and came down and received
-
him joyfully. And when they saw it, they all grumbled.
-
He has gone in to be the guest of a
-
man who is a sinner. And Zachias stood and said
-
to the Lord, Behold, Lord, the half of my goods
-
I give to the poor. And if I've defrauded anyone
-
of anything, I restore it fourfold. And Jesus said to him,
-
today salvation has come to this house, since he also
-
is a son of Abraham, for the son of Man
-
came to seek and to save the lost. Let's pray, God,
-
we thank you for your word. We take a moment
-
to remove all distractions from our mind and focus on
-
the word that you would have for us today. God,
-
give us ears to hear it like you did with
-
the disciples, open up our minds to understand your scriptures.
-
Let us know what you want to say and what
-
you want us to do with that today. And so God,
-
I just thank you for this moment and pray that
-
it brings you glory as we go through your word
-
and is edifying for us as a body of believers.
-
As for this in Jesus name, Amen. We've been in
-
a series called Luke The Orderly Account of Truth. And
-
Luke investigated all about what Jesus did and taught throughout
-
his ministry, and that was a lot of stuff. And
-
because of this investigated, investigated account. We can actually have
-
certainty about who Jesus is, and that's a very comforting thing,
-
especially as we're talking about resurrection Sunday. We can know
-
the truth about who Jesus is. And Luke spent all
-
this time investigating it. And last week Pastor Duncan preached
-
about God's plan. That was the name of the message.
-
It was great that God, in his sovereignty, he chooses
-
to conceal certain things, but then he also chooses to
-
reveal certain things, and he does all this according to
-
his own will, according to how he sees fit. That's
-
how God reveals or conceals things. We saw that the
-
disciples eyes and ears were wide open when Jesus was
-
foretelling his death for the third time. By the way
-
that their eyes and ears were open, they could hear
-
him just fine, but they couldn't understand what he was saying.
-
Why because it was hidden from them. That's what we're
-
told that he spoke very specifically to them, but the
-
truth or the understanding of it was hidden or concealed
-
from them. But in contrast, you see this blind beggar
-
whose eyes were not open, right, his physical eyes were
-
not open. He couldn't see anything, yet he could see
-
exactly who Jesus was. Plain his day, he knew who
-
Jesus was. But it was because God chose to reveal
-
to him who Jesus was. That's why the blind man,
-
in contrast to the disciples whose eyes wereked just fine,
-
they couldn't see, but this blind man could see because
-
God chose reveal that. So God chooses when he wants
-
to conceal certain things, and he chooses when he wants
-
to reveal them. And so this week our text, what
-
we just read through, we're seeing that Jesus is continuing
-
his journey to Jerusalem, and he's come to the city
-
of Jericho. And if you read your Old Testament, this
-
is the same city of Jericho that Joshua marched around
-
to make the walls come down, if you guys remember
-
that story, right, And that's in Joshua chapter six, if
-
you want to read that. But as Jesus passes through
-
the city, he has an interaction with a man, and
-
this interaction helps him remind the people of the whole
-
reason that Jesus is on his mission, helps gives him
-
an object lesson or a moment to stop and teach
-
what he's doing to remind the people of his actual mission.
-
For the son of Man came to seek and to
-
save the lost. For the son of Man came to
-
seek and to save the lost. That's why Jesus came
-
to Earth, to seek and to save the lost. That's
-
why he came. And when Jesus is in the middle
-
of doing his mission with this man, how did the
-
crowd respond. Jesus is literally doing what he came for.
-
How did the crowd respond? They grumbled, didn't they? They
-
grumbled at Jesus doing his mission. They were mad that
-
Jesus was hanging out with a sinner, a lost person.
-
They were mad at him for doing the very thing
-
that he came to do. And I I was thinking, like, well,
-
what is that like? What is that like? And I
-
think that's like standing in front of a burning building
-
and then getting mad at the firefighters when they come
-
to show to put the fire out. It's absurd. That
-
makes zero sense. Or whoever has worked on a team
-
with some like doing something maybe a work project or
-
a school project, maybor back in the day you've put
-
on it. You usually didn't get to choose your team, right,
-
You're just put in a group. Well, it's like the
-
whole group is working towards the same goal. We're all
-
trying to accomplish the same mission. Right, everybody except for
-
that one guy, you know what I'm talking about, or
-
maybe those couple people. Right, they just complain about everything
-
the whole time. You come up with an idea or
-
someone brings up an idea and they're like that'll never work,
-
blah blah blah. They're just like complaining, they're pushing back
-
on everything, or they're just contributing nothing whatsoever. Right, you
-
have those people in your group. Doesn't seem like they're
-
after the same goal or same mission as the whole
-
rest of the group, does it? No, I think that's
-
what this crowd is like. This crowd is like that
-
person in your work group for school. It's clear that
-
the people who were following Jesus because everywhere Jesus went,
-
crowds followed him because he did amazing, miraculous things. Right,
-
people followed him, but they weren't followers of Jesus. Does
-
that make sense? They want to see something because Jesus
-
is doing these cool, amazing things, but it's clear that
-
they weren't really following Jesus. They weren't on the same
-
mission he was on. They were doing the same things
-
he was doing. They weren't going to the cities with
-
the same intention that he was. No, they had a
-
different mission in mind. Jesus came to seek and to
-
save the lost, That's what he's doing. His love for
-
the lost would drive him to seek after them, and
-
the crowds would stand there and grumble. So I called
-
today's message. Do I love the lost? Do I love
-
the loss? Do I want people to get saved? Or
-
am I like the crowd grumbling when Jesus goes to
-
seek certain people, to seek and to save them. Am
-
I on the same mission Jesus is on? Or am
-
I on some other mission? And to understand this, we
-
need to figure out who this Zachieus guy is. So
-
let's look at verse number one. He that's Jesus entered
-
Jericho and was passing through and behold, there was a
-
man named Zachias. He was a chief tax collector and
-
he was rich. So we know two things about this guy, right,
-
The Bible just told us there's two things. He's a
-
chief tax collector and he was rich. This guy was
-
loaded chief tax collectors generally were. But you got to
-
remember that tax collectors were hated by the Jews. Specifically,
-
they were hated because they were fellow Jews who worked
-
for the Roman government to collect taxes on their behalf.
-
But the deal is the Roman government said, you can
-
collective taxes however you want, I don't care, and as
-
much as you want, and anything over they owed the
-
Roman government you can keep. So oftentimes these tax collectors
-
were very, very wealthy people because they extorted or just
-
outright stole money from their fellow Jews. So it kind
-
of makes sense why they were hated, right. They were
-
greedy and despicable. And this guy was a chief Zacchius
-
was the chief of the tax collector. So I call
-
him the top dog tax collector, Like he's making lots
-
of money as a chief tax collector. But this particular
-
chief collector had something or someone that he desperately wanted
-
to see, and he was willing to do weird stuff
-
to accomplish that. He had someone that he desperately wanted
-
to see. Look at verse three, and he was seeking
-
to see who Jesus was, But on account of the crowd,
-
he could not because he was small in stature, so
-
he ran on ahead and climbed up into a sycamore
-
tree to him for he's about to pass that way.
-
He wanted to see who Jesus was. That's who we
-
wanted to see. He wanted to see who Jesus. Word
-
was traveling super fast about Jesus. He would think about it.
-
He'd go into a city and he'll literally everybody there,
-
every single sickness gone from a city. So words traveling
-
really really fast about this this guy, Jesus and Zacchius
-
really wanted to see it. I mean, if you imagine,
-
just for a second, if there was a if you
-
heard of some guy who was in town and all
-
of a sudden, all the blind people could see, or
-
the people who have been in wheelchairs for their entire life,
-
all of a sudden standing up and walking as if
-
they've been walking their whole life, or skin diseases and
-
rashes and leprosy just vanishes and disappears. And then you
-
hear that dude's going to be at the rack leader
-
who's gone. You guys going to leave me there like
-
we're going to see that. That's incredible, right, So it
-
makes sense why Zacheus is like, I gotta see this
-
Jesus guy. This is the kind stories that are passing around,
-
not just stories, these actual true events that are happening
-
that people are telling others about word of mouth. There
-
wasn't the Internet back then. They couldn't just tweet it out.
-
Look at this crazy thing that happened. It was all
-
word of mouth and word was still getting around. And Zachieus,
-
that's what's going through his head. He's like, Jesus is
-
in town and I got to see this guy. But
-
there was one teeny tiny little problem. Well he was
-
the teeny tiny problem because he's shortened stature. Homeboy was
-
vertically challenged. As I say, listen, I get it. I'm five'.
-
SIX i can't see over. Anybody we go to concerts
-
And i'm standing behind people like this was the cool
-
back of the head. Show, TODAY i can't see. ANYTHING
-
i get. It BUT i also don't have to duck
-
to get under. Anything, ever so hashtag favorite ain't, fair,
-
Right come, on being, short it's not all. Terrible the
-
crowd is in the. Way zachieus is a wee little,
-
man so he has to get creative if he wants
-
to See. Gezus so he runs ahead of the crowd
-
and climbs up a sycamore tree right For jesus passes.
-
By look at verse. Five and When jesus came to the,
-
place it's where he's at in the. Tree he looked
-
up and said, Him, zacchius hurry and come, down FOR
-
i must stay at your house. TODAY i must stay
-
at your house. Today jesus walks by and looks up
-
in the tree and Sees zacchius there and addresses. Him
-
jesus the one That zacchius is desperately trying to see
-
that he ran and climbed up a tree just to
-
make sure he could see over the crowds to see.
-
Him that's who looks up at him and invites himself
-
overs to his. House he, Says i'm got to come
-
to your. House hurry, up get out of that, tree,
-
Bro i'm coming. Over And jesus puts some urgency behind.
-
This this isn't just, like, HEY i think it'd be
-
cool IF i came to your house. Today, no he's
-
like telling him what he's going to do and put
-
some urgency behind. It and after telling him, this we
-
see two very different. Responses don't we look at verse
-
five or the end of verse. Five zachius hurried and came,
-
down FOR i must stay at your house, today, Right
-
so that's What jesus says to. Him so verse, six
-
so he hurried and came down and received him. Joyfully
-
and when they saw, it they all. Grumbled he has
-
gone in to be the guest of a man who
-
is a. Sinner so we See zachius listen to What jesus.
-
Said jesus told him to do, something and he just did.
-
It but it's not that he just did, it says
-
he Received jesus, joyfully that he joyfully Received, jesus and
-
that's exactly how all of us should Receive jesus is.
-
Joyfully he's our savior, king and we know the depth of.
-
That THERE'S i, mean there's people who See jesus and
-
completely reject, him and there's people who see him and
-
love him and accept. Him, right there's a big divide between.
-
That but the, obvious clear answer is, like we should
-
do What zachius did and Receive jesus with. Joy so
-
that's the first response we. See but what's the second
-
response we? See it's very. Different what did the crowd.
-
Do they. Grumbled the crowd grumbled Because jesus was gonna
-
go stay with a dirty, sinner those, dirty rotten, sinners
-
those tax. Collectors they're grumbling At jesus for going To zachius's.
-
House by the, way this is the same crowd that
-
we just saw rebuke the blind man who's crying out
-
To jesus as he was entering this same very. City
-
that's the same exact. Crowd in, fact it's this is
-
the same kind of response That jesus got when he
-
Called levi the tax collector also known As matthew The,
-
disciple when he called him to follow. Him it's this
-
they were all. Grumbling. Then it is The pharisees and
-
the scribes they grumbled back then In luke chapter. Five
-
listen to this. Crowd this is very regular response That
-
jesus gets from the. Crowd they don't like it When
-
jesus helps the, needy the, broken the, helpless the, outcasts
-
and they really don't like it when he hangs out with,
-
sinners even though that's exactly what they are To they
-
can't see. It it's like having your eyes wide open
-
but you're fully. Blind this is these this crowd so
-
we see this joy From. Zacchius we also see this
-
grumbling attitude from the. Crowd but what happens next in
-
the story shows us that something drastic has changed inside
-
greedy Little. Zacchius something drastic has. Changed he doesn't care
-
what the crowd is. Saying he doesn't care how much they're. Grumbling,
-
no what does he? Do verse eight And zakias stood
-
and said to the, Lord, Behold, lord the half of
-
my GOODS i give to the. Poor and IF i
-
defrauded anyone of, anything anyone of, ANYTHING i restore it.
-
Fourfold this is not something a greedy person, does unless
-
unless some miracle has happened inside their heart to change.
-
Them this is not what Zach us would say in
-
his chief tax collector greedy. Personhood, no some miracle. Happened
-
and the reason we know that something had to change
-
in them is because just a couple weeks ago we
-
read about the rich young ruler Right Pastor duncan preached
-
to That he Asked, jesus what MUST i do to
-
inherit eternal? Life and the last Thing jesus told him
-
to do is sell, everything give it all to the,
-
poor and come follow. Him but the man went away
-
sad because he was. Rich he didn't want to do.
-
It his heart hadn't. Changed he was, rich and that's
-
the kind of response you would expect to get from
-
little Rich. Zechias but he did the. Opposite he is
-
giving away half of everything he has to the poor fifty.
-
Percent that's a. Lot half of Everything i'm giving to the.
-
Poor and then he takes it a step further and,
-
Says i'm paying back everyone he's cheated out of money,
-
fourfold four. Times IF i cheated him out of a
-
one hundred, Bucks i'm giving him four hundred bucks up.
-
Fast for someone who is a chief tax, collector someone
-
whose job and how they make all their money is
-
by cheating it out of, people extracting more taxes than
-
are necessary and keeping it so every single person has
-
ever done that. Too he's, Like i'm going to pay
-
them back. Fourfold that is some drastic. Change something has
-
changed In. Zachieus jesus didn't even ask him to do.
-
That he volunteered. That he's. Different he's come in contact
-
with the Living God Jesus, christ and it has changed
-
who he. Is when you truly Meet jesus and it's
-
revealed to you who he actually. Is you are never
-
the same. Again you will never be the same. Again
-
when you See jesus for who he truly, is you
-
start to hate the sin in your, life the same
-
sin you loved and held on to so dear for
-
so many. Years you hate it your desire to please
-
you desire to Please, god and you like actually want
-
to live the way he tells you to. Live that's,
-
rare because that's oftentimes in start contrast to what your
-
your flesh or your natural self actually. Wants, now we
-
will still, struggle but we're gonna. REPENT i, say just
-
like you follow, re scrape your, knee slap a band ad,
-
on get up and keep. Moving we repent and show
-
fruit or bear fruit with keeping with. Repentance, Right So
-
jesus sought Out, Zacchius, zacchius this lost, sinner and he saved.
-
Him and then he says something so beautiful in these
-
last two. Verses look at verses nine and, ten And
-
jesus said to, him, today salvation has come to this,
-
house since he also is a son Of. Abraham for
-
the son Of man came to seek and to save the.
-
Loss jesus just saying out loud exactly what he's. Doing
-
he Tells zacchius's salvation has come to his house since
-
he's also a son Of, abraham and the reason he
-
has come is because that's what he came to. Do it's,
-
like the REASON i came here is BECAUSE i came
-
to seek and save the. Lost he's, like not keeping
-
any secrets, Here. ZACCHIUS i, mean in a way you
-
can see if he's, Like, ah you're a lost, Person
-
i'm gonna go to your. House that's kind of what he's.
-
Saying Right and now whether they caught on to that or,
-
NOT i don't, know But jesus is, explaining this is
-
What i'm. Doing the Reason i've come is because that's
-
the Reason i'm coming to your house is because that's
-
What i've come to, do is to seek and save the.
-
Lost jesus is. Salvation jesus is where we find our.
-
Salvation it's found nowhere else but In. Him. Nowhere no
-
matter what the world will tell you or any other
-
religion might tell, you there is only one way to
-
be made right With. God and in the coexist world
-
we live. In that's very offensive to, say but it's,
-
true and we must speak the. Truth there is only
-
one way to be made right With. God there's only
-
one way to be forgiven of all of our. Sins
-
who did we sin Against? God so he's the one
-
we need to be made right. With Anytime i'm unloving
-
to my, wife DID i sin against? Her? Yeah but whose?
-
Law DID i? Break god's? Law so NOW i have
-
a problem with? Him or, really he's got a problem with, me,
-
Right that's why the only way to find salvation is
-
by the Means he has. Selected it's Because i've sinned against.
-
Him there's only one way to be forgiven of all
-
of our. Sins there's only one way to inherit eternal,
-
life and it's through faith In. Jesus it's by the
-
grace Of god. Alone it's through faith, alone it's In christ.
-
Alone and every single person on this earth falls short
-
Of god's perfect, standard every single, person all my old church.
-
Heads you're, like, oh this is the beginning of The roman. Road,
-
yes that's what we're talking. About every single one of
-
us has fallen short Of god's perfect. Standard we've all.
-
Sinned and if you're, like oh wait a min, NO
-
i haven't have you ever told a? Lie how many
-
lives have you? TOLD i can't count the amount of
-
Lies i've. Told so what would you call someone who
-
has told an uncountable amount of? Lies what would you call?
-
Them you're a, LIAR i got. It So i'm a.
-
Liar have you ever taken anything that belong to? You got?
-
It so you're a liar and you're a. Thief. Right
-
so we're all, sinners down to the smallest little. Thing
-
we all are in need of. Saving none of us
-
escape that. Reality all of us have sin tendencies in
-
us and sin actions that have come. Out we've all fallen.
-
Short we have all, sinned and because of our, sin
-
what we deserve is the wrath Of god for all.
-
Eternity that's What god, says the wages of sin or.
-
Death so we deserve the wrath Of god for all.
-
Eternity But god made a way for us to be.
-
Forgiven thank. You he made a way for us to
-
be forgiven of all of our, sins to be made
-
right With. Him and is through What jesus. Did it's
-
not through anything that we. Did it's only through What jesus.
-
Did he lived a perfect sinless, life and he took
-
the punishment for sin on, himself and he did this
-
by dying on the. Cross but here's the. Thing he
-
didn't stay, dead and that's a good. Thing that is
-
what we're celebrating On Easter. Sunday he didn't stay. Dead
-
he showed that he has power over sin and death
-
by resurrecting from the. Dead and he is now, alive
-
sitting on his throne at the right hand Of, god
-
The father in. Heaven it's. Amazing and anyone who confesses
-
That jesus Is lord and believes That god rais him
-
from the dead will be. Saved that's the. Truth the
-
way to not receive the wrath Of god on my
-
sin for all. Eternity the way to receive eternal life
-
and perfection face to face In jesus for the rest of,
-
eternity is by putting faith In Jesus, christ confessing That
-
jesus is Your, lord and believing That god raised him
-
from the. Dead because It's god The father's. Will AND
-
i love this verse that all who look to The,
-
son And jesus is The, son The son Of. God
-
all who look to The son and believe will have
-
eternal life and be raised up in the last. Day
-
that's fantastic. News jesus is our. Salvation and in our
-
text this, day salvation has come to your, House, Zacchius
-
today salvation has come to this house since he also
-
is a son Of, abraham for the son Of man
-
came to seek and save the. Loss but what Does
-
jesus mean by he also is a son Of. Abraham
-
it's kind of a weird. Thing SO i feel like
-
we should talk about. It and it makes me think
-
of the fact That jesus said that he was sent
-
to who the lost sheep Of. Israel that's In matthew,
-
fifteen he was sent to the lost sheep Of. Israel
-
that jesus first mission was to The, jews which is
-
also echoed In romans one, sixteen, right first of the
-
jew then to The. Gentiles so he came to seek
-
and save the. Loss but the first group of lost
-
people that he's seeking, after or who the lost sheep Of,
-
israel it's The. Jews that's who he was sent to.
-
First now we know it didn't stop, there which is
-
a really good. Thing he was first of The, jews
-
but then it went to The, gentiles, Right and it
-
makes me think of that story says there are other
-
sheep who are not of this fold THAT i need
-
to go. Get So jesus is talking about. That it's
-
not just for The, jews it's also for The. Gentiles
-
CAN i get an amen for anyone who's not an Ethic? Jew?
-
Amen thank You jesus for. That Thank, god he has
-
called us gentiles out of darkness and into his glorious light.
-
Too through What jesus has, done we two are called
-
sons and daughters Of. Abraham AND i love How paul
-
explains it In galatians chapter. THREE i THINK i put
-
these ones on. There, Sweet, okay they're gonna be on the,
-
screen so you don't need to turn there in Your.
-
Bible But galatians chapter, three verses seven through, nine know
-
then that it is those of faith who are the
-
sons Of. Abraham and the, scripture foreseeing That god would
-
justify the gentiles by, faith preach the gospel beforehand To, abraham,
-
saying in you shall all the nations be. Blessed so
-
then those who are of faith are blessed along With,
-
abraham the man of. Faith and if you skip forward
-
just a few more verses in that same, chapter verse twenty,
-
six for In Christ. Jesus you are all sons Of
-
god through. Faith so as many of you as were
-
baptized Into christ have put On. Christ there is Neither
-
jew Nor, greek Or jew nor. Gentile there is neither
-
slave nor. Free there is no male and, female for
-
you are all one In Christ. Jesus and if you Are,
-
christ's then you Are abraham's offspring heirs according to. Promise
-
that's pretty. Clear if you've put faith In, jesus then
-
you are Considered abraham's, offspring And abraham's offspring are heirs
-
according to. Promise, Amen CAN i have the band come? Up?
-
Please so this is all true what we've been talking,
-
About that salvation is for people from every, tribe, nation and,
-
tongue that's not just for Ethnic, Jews and That jesus
-
came to seek and save the. Loss and how can
-
the crowd get mad At jesus for hanging out with?
-
Sinners how can the crowd get mad at? Them i'm
-
mad at him because the truth is is they. Shouldn't
-
they shouldn't get mad at. Him he's doing his. Job
-
he's doing the mission that he came to. Do they
-
didn't think That zacchius deserved to Have jesus be with.
-
Him they thought he was undeserving or less. Than and
-
you know, What they're. Right he didn't deserve, it but
-
neither did. They none of us deserve. It that's why
-
it's called grace undeserved. Favor that is what grace. Is
-
grace is receiving something THAT i don't deserve nor i'd worked.
-
For so my question for us today is, this who
-
DO i view like the crowd Viewed. Zacchius who DO
-
i view like the crowd viewed As? Zakius who DO
-
i think is unworthy of hearing The? Gospel what spaces
-
WOULD i grumble IF i found out That jesus was going?
-
There what spaces DO i grumble with the thought of
-
being sent? To or what people DO i grumble at
-
the thought of sharing The gospel with a long time?
-
Ago you guys Know penn And teller So penjulette one
-
of the magicians. There he said something super. Profound he
-
is an. Atheist by the, way this is one of
-
the biggest like slap in the faces For. Christians if
-
you watch his whole like, interview some are nodding your,
-
head sounds like you've seen it. BEFORE i heard, It
-
but he asked a very profound. Question he, said how
-
much do you have to hate someone to believe that
-
everlasting life is possible and not tell? Them that's like
-
a dagger to the heart kind of question for a
-
believer who truly believes. This how much do you have
-
to hate someone to believe that everlasting life is possible
-
and not tell. Them we may never say that we
-
don't care or that we hate someone out of our own.
-
Mouth we may never say that someone is undeserving of
-
hearing the? Gospel but what are we communicating when we
-
walk by hundreds of people every week and never tell
-
them About? Jesus what are we? Communicating, LIKE i don't
-
walk by one hundred people every, week pick a. Number one's.
-
Enough what AM i communicating WHEN i don't want to
-
tell them that there is a bad consequence of living
-
a life and remaining in your sin and they're actually
-
being a remedy for that and just not telling? Them
-
what AM i? Communicating DO i love the? Lost DO
-
i love the? Lost are there PEOPLE i grumble at
-
the thought Of jesus seeking? Them you mean? Them? Jesus
-
are you sure we needed repent of that arrogance or
-
arrogance might not be a word that. Connects i'm not
-
trying to sit here and call you, Arrogant but sometimes
-
things we don't make a priority end up in the
-
back of our, head and they very quickly leave our cares.
-
Altogether do we even? Care have we even prioritized a
-
life that is rubbing shoulders with unbelievers so that we
-
can share the gospel with? Them we need to remember
-
the grace Of god that's upon, us the grace That
-
he showed. Us we did not deserve, it and he
-
still sought us out. Anyway he sought us out, Anyway
-
come now. Found it's my favorite. Hymn whow's the lingo
-
Though jesus sought me when a stranger wandering from the
-
fold Of. God that's the one like we're all prone
-
to wander, now and he still brings us. Back he
-
sought us when we didn't deserve, it while we were still.
-
Sinners christ died for. Us that's what we're told in.
-
Scripture while we were still. Sinners christ died for, us
-
and we should let that drive us to push The
-
gospel into every single space that we're. In DO i
-
love the? Lost DO i love them? Enough to do
-
What jesus, did to seek them, out to tell them
-
the good news of what he. Done also that The
-
lord would save. Them so let's be Like zaccheus and
-
receive The lord with. Joy, right that's the first. Thing
-
let's be Like zacchius and receive The lord with. Joy,
-
two don't be like the crowd and grumble when salvation
-
reaches out to. Sinners don't think that anybody's off. Limits
-
don't think that anybody's not, deserving because guess, what we're
-
all not, deserving And jesus does it. Anyway there's no
-
one off. Limits every, tribe, nation and, tongue every class doesn't,
-
matter every single person everywhere we should be taking the gospel.
-
Too and, third let's be Like jesus and actually do.
-
It let's bring The gospel to everyone. Everywhere. Amen if
-
you guys stand on your, feet, please
