If you have that golden tax. Proverbs, chapter number twenty one, verse
-
number fifteen. Say a man, all right, brother Nathaniel, would you
-
read that verse of scripture First John, chapter number five and verse number three,
-
For this is the love of God that we keep his commandments, and
-
his commandments are not grievous. How many of you believe that that keeping the
-
Lord's commandments should not be grievous to the child of God, or to the
-
righteous person, or for the just person. Keeping the commandments of God should
-
be not a problem. Look at your neighbors, say, hey, neighbor,
-
there's no problem in old know I can keep it. It's just easy.
-
Oh, just easy to do, easy, easy, I could keep
-
the commandments of God. Brother Nathan, to read that one more time.
-
If you still have it, that's the word of God. Now if I
-
say anything here tonight that's not of God or of the Word of God,
-
then you could question it. But this is the word of God. Read
-
it, brother Nathaniel. First John, Chaptain number five, verse number three,
-
where this is the love of God that we keep his commandments, and
-
his commandments are not gruvious. So if you love the Lord, you will
-
keep his commandments, and it will not grieve you to keep his commandments.
-
Does everybody concur with that? Yes, we agree with the interpretation of what
-
brother Nathanael just read. It doesn't matter whether we believe it or agree with
-
it or not. It's true. God's word does not lie. It's a
-
pleasure of mine to keep his commandments, all right, Brother Jesse. First
-
Samuel, chapter number fifteen and verse number twenty two. Let's hear about a
-
man who got the place where he didn't want to keep God's commandments. And
-
Samuel said, after Lord, as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices,
-
as in obeying the voice of the Lord, behold. To obey is better
-
than sacrifice, and to hearkened than the fat of rams. So the Prophet,
-
if you will, the Preacher, the Prophet, if you will,
-
the pastor the nation of Israel is rebuking the King of Israel, namely King
-
Saul, the one specifically chosen by God when there was a change of form
-
of government. The man that was called by God to lead the nation of
-
Israel as king, is getting rebuked by the preacher. And that's what brother
-
Jesse just read to us. And the preachers said, you ought to known
-
to obey is better than the sacrifice and the hearken than the fat of realms.
-
As King Saul being rebuked by the preacher. All right, let's stand
-
for the reading of our golden text Proverbs, chapter number twenty one and verse
-
number fifteen. The Bible said, it is joy to the just to do
-
judgment, but destruction shall be to the workers of an iniquity. Is that
-
not what brother Samuel just preach afid to us about. Let's pray, Heavenly
-
Father, we love and we praise you. We thank you for the opportunity
-
to come to your house. I thank you for the way the Holy Ghost
-
has moved in this service tonight. I do thank you, Lord, that
-
you have blessed this thy people. I pray that you would anoint this thy
-
servants set of God and my mouth, and help me to say the things
-
that you would have me to say, nothing more or less. Anoint the
-
ears of this thy people, that they might hear what it is the Spirit
-
of God has said to this people tonight through this preach word, not through
-
my words, but by your words. God. I pray that these sayings
-
would go below the shoulders may they get into that heart and that spirit.
-
God, I pray let it be in this mind help of Lord, and
-
not be hearers only, but doers help of not to find it grievous to
-
keep your commandments. And may we depart this place joyfully and not so playing.
-
The church said Amen, as there being seated, Brother Tyler reach over
-
there, and grand brother Dilon by the wrist, say hey, neighbor,
-
would you mind if I twist your wrist or our brother Dilon. I want
-
you to say, of course, I'll mind. Stupid, say stop twisting
-
my arm. I want to preach a servant the Holy Girl's title, Ouch,
-
stop twisting my arm. I heard a little child tell his mother this
-
about three weeks ago. They were in a department store. The child was
-
being disorderly and unruly, and the mother, in order to literally take control
-
of the situation, she wrapped that strong hand around that little child's wrist and
-
begin to twist it, and that little child went out, mommy, stop
-
twisting my arm. And immediately this sermon was birthed in my musom. The
-
Holy ghost began to move on me and brought this scripture out to my attention.
-
As I was reading the Bible. Our text is found in an Old
-
Testament book of the Holy Bible. The Book of Proverbs is a very special
-
book of the Bible to me personally. I have tried to be a student
-
of this book for many years. I must admit that I am not a
-
master of this particular book of the Bible, because its author is the wisest
-
man outside of Jesus Christ to have ever lived upon God's planet, our earth.
-
I'm telling you I would be a fool to stand before you tonight and
-
say that I have the mastery of this particular book of the Bible. But
-
there is no doubt there was a master mind that had been anointed and gifted
-
by God to put in the parchment and give us this precious book of the
-
Bible. After my conversion, when I was selling us an old Bible,
-
the Lord about I say, I still am. But one of the things
-
that the Holy Ghost instructed me to do was to read this Book of Proverbs
-
over and over again, because God had promised us in his word that if
-
any man lacks wisdom, let him ask of God that giveth to all men
-
liberally and the greatest nod. When Sister how and I were young converts,
-
new Christians. If you would, Sister Howard would pray a lot of times
-
for me, and she would say, God give him a wisdom beyond that
-
of Daniel of Old. I know that I have not surpassed Daniel of Old
-
and wisdom, and I know that I have not surpassed Solomon of Old in
-
wisdom. But I do consider myself to be a student of the Book of
-
Proverbs. There's a lot of wonderful verses in this Bible. I must admit,
-
though, that the Book of Proverbs has always been fascinating to me.
-
But Brother Tyler, in all of these years of reading, I've never really
-
spent paid any close attention to Proverbs chapter number twenty one, in verse number
-
fifteen. That is our golden texts. Tonight, will you look a little
-
closer at the first A half of that scripture went over a lot of people's
-
heads, just like you have mine. All of these years I've been a
-
student of the Book of Proverbs. If you're not careful, this sermon will
-
go right over your head. But I'm gonna try to preach it in such
-
a way that you will get the message that the Holy Ghost gain to me.
-
To give to you. So notice in that scripture, our gold and
-
text, Proverbs twenty one and fifteen, there are three words that begin with
-
the letter jay. Do you see them? They are as follows, joy,
-
just, and judgment. Now read that first part of that text.
-
Allowed with me. It is joy to the just to new judgment. Repeat
-
that again, it is joy to the just to new judgment. Now I
-
believe you can memorize that before the end of the service. If you had
-
a mind too. You're not getting this. I can tell you're thinking,
-
but you're not getting it. I pray that the Lord will help you.
-
As you look at me and ask this question, what do you mean,
-
pastor by this? What do you mean? What does that mean? Okay,
-
thank you for asking the just or the righteous person roll. They don't
-
need their arm twisted to do the right thing. As I begin to do
-
a word study on this word just, I saw that that means a righteous
-
person. As I did a word study on judgment, sister wrote, cap
-
it meant justice being for doing what is right. Then, everybody in this
-
building, I have to know the definition of the word of joy. You
-
don't need a word study to know the meaning of the word joy. Do
-
you know it's to delight or have pleasure in something. So the just or
-
the righteous person who do not have to have their arm twisted to do the
-
right thing. You see, the devil has to be forced to go to
-
hell. God is going to twist his arm and damn him into the eternal
-
lake of fire forever. There's some of you children. You know is good
-
as I do that your mother has to twist your art in order to get
-
you to do your school work. Unfortunately, there might be a person in
-
this building that is the employee of some employer somewhere in town or over the
-
neighboring town Fort Myers. And your employer knows as sure as he shows up
-
for work in the morning, he will have to twist your r to get
-
you to turn loose of that cup of copy and begin to work. And
-
so I want you to know that the devil cannot do the right thing.
-
Oh, come on down, the child of God. He should not have
-
to be forced to do the right thing. In fact, I could be
-
done with this servant right now if that was not somebody in this building whom
-
God has been trying to twist your r and that to get you to do
-
that which is right. You see that somebody like Sister Wounding that would say,
-
as opting as she does, it is my pleasure to do whatsoever my
-
Master bends me to do. There's ficionaries in this building that have went overseas
-
this year and preached it. It is my pleasure to do what God wants
-
me to do. And so the people of God they delight in doing what
-
is right. That come on now, you hold timers are familiar with that
-
phrase. Don't twist my arm to twist somebody's armies to use and direct personal
-
pressure in order to achieve a designer in now want to stare at when you
-
go stand out in front of plant parenthood, or in front of any society
-
as a whole, and you begin to preach, there is a class by
-
the contrast between life and darkness, cool and evil darkness. Please from the
-
light. And unbelievers and disobedient people feel are comfortable with preachers like you better
-
staring preachers of a righteousness when you begin to preach to them and turn the
-
light on if they do not prest the sin and go and send the more,
-
as Mother Nathaniel told by the Jority to do after he apologized to me,
-
and they're gonna Taniel better. Nathaniel said, that's good, but go
-
and sin there more. You see Bee staring at these people, do not
-
persae. They're sin and turning to God. Every time they feel their preacher
-
preaching, they feel like their preacher it's twisting their arm. That's father say
-
things like this to myself, don't judge, who are you the preacher?
-
To me? They feel like you are twisting their art. But we should
-
have never got to that place, at that point where that person were concerning
-
the things of God, the places of cold people in coming and the word
-
of Connessan never have to be a time where a preacher it's twisting somebody's already
-
service after service because oh, holding us is twisting somebody's arm time and idead
-
trying to get them to do what God told him to do. It's very
-
grievous for the church family to have to endure this. That little girl having
-
her arm twisted in that manner was very upsetting for some that were standing nearby.
-
The outlookers that were observing that situation, They did not appreciate the fact
-
that this girl could only be subdued by her mother getting a firm grip on
-
that young girl and motivating her and taking control and making that little girl act
-
appropriately. I'm looking at some of these young men over here on my ride,
-
and if you were to speak to these young men, they were admit
-
that you do not have to twist their arm when it comes up to taking
-
a trip to the bakery. My little grand baby Micah was writing with me
-
and his papa brother Daddy the other day, and after a while he said,
-
Papa, there's the dairy queen. I drove by the daddy queen.
-
That son liked me because I had heard his daddy's saying, Micah, you
-
were not good at such and such a time, and we're just gonna pass
-
you by. We're gonna say goodbye to dairy queen, and you're not gonna
-
get an ice cream. And then when his daddy said, we're all gonna
-
get born and you're not gonna get one because you're asking Papa so much.
-
When Grandpa rose up in me and I said, you know what, if
-
he can't have one, none of us can have an ice cream? Could
-
a church saying ma'am. And then we got closer to McDonald's and he said,
-
well, Papa, they served ice cream at McDonald's and I said,
-
not today, Papa's gotta get home, and we headed on to the house.
-
But when it comes to he's been over here's wives and their mother's cooking.
-
I'm telling you you don't have to twist their arm to get down to
-
belly up to the trial. Just a quick look. And Brother Samuel will
-
tell you this. He married a woman and knows how to bake with the
-
best of them. And Sister Megan, I doubt there's been a time when
-
you've had to walk in there and twist Brother Samuel's arm and say, come
-
on, bro man, let's go in there and eat what I have prepared
-
for you. I believe the Brother Samuel's favorite dish that Sister Megan prepares for
-
him, his pork chops, is that right there with all the fixings.
-
If you were to look over here and none of Christian Wood. He talked
-
about something called the Golden Rod. I have no idea in the world that
-
golden rod he is. And he briefly tried to explain it to me a
-
while backer, and he said, it's kind of an egg cream saucer that
-
you just spill over toast, and he said, this is the favorite thing
-
that my mother makes. He Brother Christian, I guess if I was to
-
make some golden rod, I probably would not have to twist your arm to
-
come to my house. If you were to look at mother Philip over here,
-
and you'd ask whether, Philipp, what is the favorite thing your mother
-
makes her? I know the answer. It's porn ros fits. Mother is
-
saturated in Hey, what is it? Mojo? Saucer mojo? Right,
-
Brother Philip loves that. He's smiling right now. Sister, how over the
-
years you've had to twist his arm to getting to take out the trasher.
-
But when it comes to that port moaster or he ain't gonna twister. He's
-
got my creatured to you. Look over here, Mother, can't you're looking
-
so innocent. When sister Rachel comes outside with that cold glass of ice tea's
-
been working on the church bower for the fifty time in the last month.
-
Because of the way some of you guys treat it, I'm sure she doesn't
-
have to twist whether Nathaniel's are to get here to treat of that ice cold
-
sweet tea. Once she brings you a Friday chicken leg with it in barbecue
-
sauce. That's probably the favorite thing she makes, right, your favorite things?
-
She makes this chicken legs that have been barbecue Tylaton, watch the hen
-
house. If we get a bunch of legless chickens and hens over there,
-
we got three hundred and fifty. There's a lot of a chicken. A
-
seven hundred chicken lead trumpsticks in that pend that Rachel could make her for brother
-
Nathaniel. What about Sister Iris. They'll never be a time when she's got
-
to twist Brother Tyler's arm and get Mother Tyler to come down there needs that
-
wonderful meal or sister who mass prepared for him? I thought about brother Chessie.
-
He also said his favorite meal that his wife makes him his pride a
-
part to chops. He lives only sit back and cheese mask fanteens Christian Rosa,
-
and then he talks it off with a cheesecake says to me like,
-
brother Chessie's got it Nade because his wife's serving up good things. Are you
-
starting to get what I'm talking about? Everything that goncerns up his cook to
-
order and the vin order. I'm telling you every word, how in this
-
vible is a card. Every sentence that with every word in its own car
-
every verse of every chapter, every chapter of every book, all scripture has
-
been given by car. It's profitable. I'm telling you it will be a
-
blessing. Tell your soul. Then, why in the world you have to
-
preach it repeatedly, over and over again and say this? It's like God
-
a servant. This is what God said, This is what Tod deens to
-
be good for you. But if you don't do what God tells you to
-
do, it won't be much longer. You'll be saying out, stop twisting
-
my heart, and pretty soon you hate the preacher. You hate the teacher,
-
you hate the parents, you dislike the elder, you dislike the husband
-
and the wife. Stop twisting my heart, preacher, Why are you preaching
-
to me? Peter could have said the same thing to Jesus. Are you
-
picking on me? Or come on now? I want to preach to somebody
-
in this building tonight. If you call yourself a just person, you will
-
be a fair person, chest person. You would do the right thing when
-
folk are watching her, and when nobody is watching. Just people. If
-
it's chosen, primp, it's Paul. Just people that delight in doing right.
-
He's right trum of me the morning forgot to our text her in his
-
joy for the just to do churchmen. Or come on now, a chest
-
person in joys her pure satisfaction after they appearing will be the low I said,
-
there's nothing, but I satisfied. That's going. You can let God
-
has told you to dona ghost. John chapter number five, verse number three
-
said, and this is the love of God that we keep his commandments,
-
and his commandments are not grievous. Can a person have true joy without being
-
obedient unto the Lord? Answer that question? Answer that question, Ask your
-
neighbor that question. Can a person have true joy without being obedient to the
-
Lord? Absolutely not. I remember, prior to my conversion, I was
-
miserable because I knew what the Bible has said. I knew what the Lad
-
wanted to require me that I was unwilling to be obedient. Hey, answer
-
this question. Can a person have perfect peace and paste all understanding while transgressing
-
the commandments of God? No? Can a person love God without doing the
-
things that God has told us to do? Well? Come on, I
-
remember being uneasy. Look, I remember being uncomfortable when the preacher preached toy,
-
but that was prior to Mark. The answered all these questions is a
-
resounding no. If the apostle child that knew the love better than anybody,
-
he didn apid loving Tod and keeping his commandments and has to be spurned,
-
he an't take heether and walking shot outside him in harmony. The apostle child
-
identifiment he loved me caught and they're keeping his commandments has been the same thing.
-
In other words, as Christians, we are expected to believe in Jesus
-
Christ, are we not? We are to love one another, are we
-
not? And we're expected to keep his commandments if we love him, keeping
-
his commandments should not be a problem. May I beg for an amen?
-
I love to hear crickets preach. You should not feel like somebody's twisting your
-
heart. But that's why trying to twist you all. This shall not ever
-
be a problem with any child of God. Unfortunately, there comes to be
-
a time in somebody's life when they have to make a choice, will I
-
obey God or will I be disobedient. It's unfortunate that King Saul, that
-
had been chosen by the Lord to lead the nation of Israel decided to meet
-
disobedient because the road captain is unfortunate that he decided that obedience to the Lord
-
was something that he did not find important to do. Did y'all catch that
-
it's unfortunate that the new reappointed by God, King of Israel has come to
-
a place where it feels like where God has taught him to do. It's
-
not something important to do, and that's why we find him. For Samuel,
-
chapter number fifteen and most number twenty two, the preacher of the pastor
-
the prophet Scheriel, came to Saul. He said, have the Lord has
-
strength, delights in offerings and sacrifices as in unpening the voice of the Lord.
-
You can send me a song that on spotify that bless us my soul.
-
Hey, but your sacrifice and your offering will not be nearly Hey,
-
how sweet as me know it, my children said the Lord the true don
-
gratjoy. Don't know that, my children who walk in truth. Come on
-
now, Beth. And Samuel goes on to say, and sacrifices as in
-
obeying the voice of the Lord. We know these are the words of God.
-
We know the preacher when he is preaching is preaching as the oracle of
-
God. And Samuel goes on to say, behold, boy, listen and
-
parapraise I. But he just says, behold, to obey is better than
-
the sacrifice, and the hearken than the pad of a rims. You know
-
what happened to soul. He bent up on the spirit of pride. And
-
when he bit up on the spirit of pride and set a hook in his
-
jaw and took control of him. And because of the spirit of pride that
-
had possessed King Saul, he thought he knew better that the letter, and
-
he knew Lord than God's prophets. So he thought. And there is a
-
reason for Samuel saying that to abrading is better than to sacrificer, because every
-
time Saul got repute to tastised off the preacher, he threw a spoke grenade.
-
I see it when you put that grenae into your mouth and pulled apart
-
and toss it into the church and create a snake screen. Saul I had
-
done with the same that the pod that because Samuel tempted number thirteen, the
-
Lord had told that they could offer sacrificer through the propert Samuel and mcbasa and
-
numbers three thousand soldiers there. This has come of the memory right now three
-
thousand soldiers said, are they watching the Philistine army? Crow bigger? It's
-
piling on. But I Jes said, by the day, and they get
-
more outnumbered. By the hour, that get more outnumbered. And the Bible
-
said the saulce army began to be depleted. And the minutes from three thousand
-
to six hundred, Samuel had said, God said, after seven days,
-
I will be beat you and kill gall. You know what Sung did on
-
the seventh day, when it appeared that God had made later and that Samuel
-
was running later, Saul put on the priestly garment. He left his keenly
-
shifter in his hand. He kept on his keenly crowd and don a chair.
-
How he done the unthinkable and the art imagine the boy and he offered
-
a sacrifice. You'll talk about that. You're talking about how get that feel
-
to be? Went just said out of field, and I had a pressure
-
and people he did the unthink, come on, the army is getting down
-
to six hundred. I gotta do something. I gotta do something. No,
-
you don't have to do the wrong thing. Well, I did the
-
wrong thing because I had to do something. No, when you find yourself
-
about to hit the panic, but like Saul was doing, you cannot do
-
like pagan kings do. They say, I am going to oper and offering
-
unworthily saw us Dutch your place. It's Dutch your position. It's done in
-
your power to do so. And as soon as Saul did that, he's
-
in the middle of opering the sacrifice. You tell me Samuel was late.
-
He's in the middle of opering the sacrifice. And Samuel shows up. Who
-
right in the middle of that? Seeing who right in that midweek service when
-
you thought you could do wrong and get by sending the preacher shows up used
-
play at church? You to offer a sacer pasture. He'll come home now
-
that Salt gets caught redheaded, I said, Salt Dot called who don't had
-
it and saved us? Said Saul, he knew better than this, and
-
pat to seven or seven. He played the fool who should have never gone.
-
Yes, say Saul, your two pigs from your preachers. Saulve w
-
you feel like you can do save those job. I know we got the
-
victory over some of this this morning, but it is a spirit of pride,
-
and there are a mean excuses that somebody like Samuel Saul can give.
-
Samuel Saul was selfish. Saul desire to do things his way, and so
-
he decided to just toss out the Lord's plans in the Lord's words. And
-
I'm telling you that as a parallel to what is going on in the church
-
world today. Pastors and parishioners in these bothered churches are deciding to toss the
-
Lord's words out, and they're still offering sacrifices on Sunday morning, Sunday night,
-
and getting week. But there's scripture here that they're ignoring. I come
-
on to. At some point his life, Saul decided I can be disobedient.
-
It was his choice to do so. But then we see that it
-
was a horrible choice that brought with it difficult consequences for Keing Saul and his
-
family. Simply put, King Saul was a rebel. He was not a
-
just man anymore. It is joy for the just to do judgment Brother stirred.
-
So Keith Saul is no longer that lonely hurt boy that's chasing after his
-
father's mules and his donkeys and the one that's hiding in the baggage. This
-
is not the one that Samuels we put over and praying over and pouring the
-
hot hole over and saying, praise the Lord. He's got a new heart.
-
He's turned into another man. This is no longer a just fan than
-
everybody said. Is he not among the prophets? Oh? Yes, they
-
will see enough Saul last week. But God sami enough say that. He's
-
said, you're a rebel. And that's what God says to every professor Christian
-
claims to be a child at cod and tosses out the words of God.
-
I want to preach to you tonight, simple put King Saul, who had
-
been just as now a rebel, he wasn't a just man anymore, Brother
-
j Something had happened to him. After the prophet saying you're made the declaration
-
regarding obedience. He followed with exposing what was within the heart of this rebel
-
with these blood chilling words he said, for rebellion is as to see it
-
a witchcraft, as stubbornness, as a niclty in idelatry. Because now has
-
rejected the Lord, the Lord, he had to also rejected deed for be
-
to king because King Saw rechected the word of the Lord, his large ham
-
not previous. It is the child to trust the new judgment. Because King
-
Saul rejected the Lord of the Lord, because given by the preacher that was
-
sent to him, he was ejected from the earthly and spiritual kingdoms where he
-
had previously had residency. Because he rejected the word of God, he was
-
ejected bill holdcast in his place. King Saw had developed a bad attitude.
-
And that's what we've been dealing with. Attitude problems within our holiness of Pentecostal
-
movements. People that feel like they can do role to get by. They
-
feel like because they get blessed every now and then then a parent that God
-
has stamped his approval on their disso Bean, that's I'm feeling a really strong
-
anawning upon me right now. You see solved and a bad attitude. He's
-
no longer that one hiding in the baggage. He's no longer that when this
-
middler than everybody. Now he's thinking too highly of himself and he finds himself
-
ejected out of the wind of God. In the same way a fighter pilot
-
that is in distress, he is he checked it from the cockpit of an
-
aircraft that is firaling downward. Just just certainly has that pilot wasn't checked that
-
up, can't save punched himself. He checked it out of the grid a
-
cock I want you to know when the spirit of God fullsa tattoo from your
-
lover, and he checks you from his garby, and he checks you from
-
his grates, and he checks you from his wheel, it is the befall
-
removed from the annoting solve. If you continue to see it, grace,
-
we'll not always belt. I feel holy because his attitude got him ejected out
-
of the will of God. There was a time in King Saul's eyes he
-
was small. There was a time in King Saul's life when his attitude was
-
right because his heart was right. There was a time that his heart had
-
been transformed. There was a time that his spirit had been renewed. But
-
now something has changed. And Brother Samuel, you did not know what was
-
in my notes. But as for Saul, the scripture that says destruction shall
-
be to the workers of iniquity has suddenly become true and prophetic. In the
-
life of Saul. Destructions shall be to the workers of iniquity because it is
-
no longer toy for dismand to new judgment. Why why not? Because he
-
is not just anymore. A rebel has own desire to obey anyone. A
-
rebel has no desire or whatsoever to unbeil the Lord. A rebel has been
-
desired to obey the comparison demands of an authority. As Christians said, we
-
must reject the attitude and the spirit of keep Saul. As Christians said,
-
we should not have to have some preach or twister our iron coach tempt he
-
earned a MODI day, I saw comperfectly, and I don't pay the Lord.
-
It ought to be a joy to do what concept do. I said.
-
It ought to be a choy to do what card has told us today.
-
Ever since I got saved, I've had no problem at all going to
-
church. I've never been tempted to lay out of church. I've never been
-
tempted to mis church. I've never been tempted to see. I mean,
-
I've been tempted to sin, But I've never took pleasure in sitting. Are
-
y'all said the pastor for the Christian and his joy for the justice A new
-
judgment? What is wrong with these People's sister Tracy asked me recently, what
-
is wrong with these people? Do they need a here name? What is
-
wrong with these people? Why do they have to be repeatedly told the same
-
thing over and over again? Because they love God? The Bible said,
-
if we love God, we'll keep his commandments. Well, preacher, they
-
love God? Do you really want to have that deep into their life?
-
About a six hour experience? Was the person we're thinking of right now that
-
professes to be a Christian will prove to you they do not love God,
-
they don't love his commandments. I guarantee you the one you're thinking of right
-
now that professes to be a Christian words like the devil. You cannot live
-
like the devils six days a week and shout like an angel on Sunday?
-
Brothers, every moile, are you praying for me? Back there? And
-
the New test Tom and we find the apostle Paul that have been greatly converted.
-
We find him righting to those that be in wrong, beloved of God,
-
called to be saints, not sinners. It's not an honor for all
-
these Christians to be going around saying I'm a sinner now we're called to be
-
saints. We're calling to be different. I know you've been lied to,
-
and that's why, Apostle Paul asked the group back then, who hath bewitched
-
you? Who's lied to you? Who's deceived you? Apostle Paul, writing
-
to the Roman Church, said to those that are belonging to God, are
-
calling you to be saints. In Roman seven to twenty two, he said,
-
for I delight in the law of God after the inward of man.
-
For I delight in the law of God after the inward of man. The
-
chest mans, if we put in joye, oh be, and the Lord
-
keep so no longer in joy o, being the Lord who has Samuel saying
-
it, it's better Howl saying it. If it's God's word, then it's
-
God's saying yeah, I'm better. How they'll say it, that's him.
-
It's not Mother road Cat's words. And he teachers that he is God's words.
-
But at one time, brother Jesse, he just couldn't wait to obey
-
the Lord. I just can't wait to do what the spirit of God has
-
been bidding me to do. Brother road Cat taught recently on a Sunday morning
-
that Christians have a mind to work, and I want you to know that
-
is true. But Christians also have a mind and a heart that is ready
-
to obey God. They have a heart and a mind that is ready to
-
obey God. It is true that most of us at some point did not
-
know everything we know today about God and about the Scripture. But when we
-
ran across it. I will be honest with you. I pulled out a
-
highlighter and highlighted that, and I underlined it, and I said, you
-
know what, that is the word of God, and I need to keep
-
his commandments that I need to make these changes in my life in order to
-
align myself with the will of God. His word will allign us with his
-
will. I know we shouted for about an hour, real strong before I
-
preach, so I can't expect you to get shouting happy tonight. Tonight we
-
listen. The Lord's words are to be heeded. They're not to be heard
-
only. We're not to be hearers of the word only, but we are
-
to be doers. We hear the word and we heed it. We don't
-
do it begrudgingly. It's not grievous, but the tyler it might be grievous
-
for your grandmother, said Tyler, take out the trash. But it ought
-
to be as joyous of an occasion for you to take out the trash for
-
your grandmother. This is profound right here, y'all, y'all, and I'm
-
trying to be funny, but brother Tyler, you ought to be just as
-
the joyous of an occasion for you to take the trash out for your grandmother
-
as it is the belly up to pancakes with homemade blueberry topping. And that's
-
how we Christians are. We all praise the Lord. I've got that problem
-
with that limit clapped my hands out, or anybody else in the church pause
-
shouting of God with the voice of trial, pancakes and woodman and tumping.
-
But when God says, put it off, When God says, God touches
-
put God said, leave it alone. Hey it all of it? Siscola
-
towards occasion? Could God says cold husband, God says direct, I was
-
obedient to the heaven of colon the apostle, Paul said, you know what
-
happened, brother Gabriel. Oh Samuel came to Saul and he said, boy,
-
you heard me, but you didn't heed every person in this building,
-
every person that's ever sent under a pastor, preacher, a teacher, they
-
have heard the word of God preach. Some of have heard more the word
-
of God preach than others. But Saul lost his peace of mind when he
-
no longer enjoyed keeping the Lord's commandments, when he found keeping them grievous and
-
burdensome. He lost his joy. It's a true joy for me to be
-
here tonight, Saul. You no longer have a new heart? Why,
-
Saul, why is that heart no longer ten? Why does the preacher have
-
to preeps like he does? Why do they have to pull like they're pulling?
-
Why do they have to push? Why is it not your to might
-
to do the will of God? What happens, Saul? Friend? What
-
happened to cause you not to be excited about rolling out of bed in the
-
morning and prayer? Friend? What caused you to lose your prayers are in
-
your joy of weeping in your living room until your tears fall into a puddles?
-
What the young preacher said tonight? What caused you to lose your joy
-
in that? Let's stand tonight, Saul? What happened a postle Paul said,
-
the things that I used to love, I now hate. The things
-
I used to hate I now love. Brother Jesse, I've seen that come
-
to be true in your life. And the sad thing about it is,
-
Saul, there will come a time when Samuel will stop twisting your arms.
-
First King's chapter number thirteen, Samuel showed up and said, saw, you
-
know you shouldn't have done this. In First Samuel, chapter number fifteen,
-
the Bible said, Samuel showed up, said, saw you should have done
-
this. I hear the bleeding of the sheep, bring a gag the King
-
of Amulet to me. And the Bible said that Samuel took him down.
-
And it doesn't say this, but in my mind's eye, I could almost
-
see Samuel want to twist Saul's arm and take his own sword, Saul's own
-
sword out of the Scamford. Give me your sword, boy. This is
-
a sword, It is the sword of the Lord. It is by this
-
book we win victories. It is by this book we are victors and not
-
victims. And brothers stared. I can't find it in the Bible, but
-
when I get to Heaven, I'm going to ask the prophet sam And I've
-
leaved. God will allow me to ask him. I'm gonna say, did
-
you take Saul's sword out of the scampering and say I show you what you
-
knew? But they gave the king of em and he yewed a gang to
-
pieces. What sad is Saul stood there and let him do it. I
-
found in the Bible where another prophet said, if you'd took them arrows and
-
just kept shot, I feel like Gosh wrote to me in my prayer closet,
-
it'd been a lot better for us to read the sauce said, hold
-
on, Sam, hold on, give me that sword. Samuel might have
-
got one blow in, it might have got two. But it speaks volumes
-
to me. When the Bible says Sam, when you do into pieces,
-
that means every swan that was taken was by the preacher, Every effort was
-
by the preacher. All of the force was by the preacher. I'm telling
-
you, I'm a feeling the hold it ghost in this place. It is
-
God for us to fight your battles or to cure your devils. Now,
-
I'm telling you, young person, you ought to be in this altar right
-
now, destroying some things. Like brother Samuel said with that liberty that has
-
been in this building today, with the power of God that has been in
-
this building today, you should have took the sulord out of the preacher's head
-
and say, Preacher, you don't have to twist my arm anymore to pray,
-
Preacher, the Holy Gost. Don't I have to speak in this fielding
-
anymore to say seek me? I said, love to buy somebody to come
-
to touch pacefully. I said, I could twist somebody's old You're more to
-
pinnable at the breakfast table than you are tops table. Oh, I feel
-
the horder ghost in this place. It ought to be our pleasure to please
-
the Lord. He does I try for the chest to the judgments. Oh
-
God, I can the Holy Ghost see in this place. Preacher, you
-
don't have to twist my arm to get me to praise the Lord. Preacher,
-
you don't have to twist my art to get me a seat cut there
-
in the week, Preacher, when they start seeing this power in the blood,
-
you don't I have to twist card. We don't have to have a
-
drama team. We don't have to have a mod team. We don't have
-
to have lights, we don't have to be entertained, we don't have to
-
have our arms twisted. We don't have to have the pancake breakfast, We
-
don't have to have a press pride to get people to come to church.
-
Not people who love God, I said, not people who want cod.
-
They're gonna be in the House of God. Whether we're have the pantcake breakfast
-
or a nice free social or not. Oh my God, I feel negotiating
-
this place. Brother twisted comes to the panel place. What if you're Samuel,
-
stop speaking to you. The tragedy of this narrative is sam You're kept
-
pleading, and Sam You're kept praying. Even after after Saul was ejected,
-
Say you're kept prayed, sister. In other words, they kept having the
-
same kind of service as we've been having for three weeks. Then came forth
-
the message from God preacher Samuel, weep no more for Saul. In other
-
words, God said, I heard you say, Alice, it should have
-
never got to the place where I was twisting your arm. But if you
-
want to say als every time we have the same message, preach, the
-
same tongues and interpretation, the same moving of God, the same spirit,
-
and you keep saying ouch at the while God says, you know you'll never
-
swing your sword of victory again. This sermon right here is very critical for
-
two young men in this building. God has delayed it for two and a
-
half weeks, and I've known what he's done. This is going to be
-
the nail and your spiritual confide. I knew it when he first gave it
-
to me. You're saying, couch, stop twisting my arm. We've had
-
to beg you to seek the Lord. It didn't matter if your brother got
-
a mass it didn't move you. It didn't matter if your pastor was suffering
-
his body, didn't matter if one of the elder sisters was afflicted. It
-
didn't move you. That's what happens when you get a bad attitude solved.
-
That's what happens when you become selfish. It's all about you. You're not
-
your brother's keeper anymore. If I will said bear you want another's burden,
-
it's a self all across out. That was hurtful. Brother Thomas Scarrett left
-
me the most beautiful messages today, Just a sweet attitude, the sweet spirit.
-
You standing back and saying, that's brother Starrett, that's such a great
-
man of God's so honorable. You need to be that way. There's two
-
young men in this building. This sermon will be the noun in your cond
-
or. It will be the catalyst that turns your life around. You're thinking
-
right now, well, there'll be a preacher up the road. It might
-
even be you pastor that will pay something more palatable, something more pleasurable,
-
something more entertaining for me, something more exciting. God's letting me know that
-
will never come. It hasn't came yet. It's not gonna come. You
-
have to get to the place where you say it is a joy to practice
-
simple obedience. Obedience, sister Whoop, do you remember the Holy Ghost gave
-
him a hint last Sunday night. She didn't know what I was going to
-
preach, all obedience to obey. I want to ask us to bow our
-
heads tonight. You've already went too far stall. You went past the shower,
-
you went past the dynamics, you went past the Holy Ghost moving mightily
-
earlier. Now we've cultured mid sacrifice. God wants to help you. It
-
is a true joy to keep his communiens. Is a true joy to keep
-
his communiens. I'm gonna say this. You have learned to let Samuel fight
-
your battles. That displeases the Lord. M brother, yes you brother Nathan,
-
You'll sing whatever's on your heart. God change me, Lord can change
-
me. Lord, don't let me stay the same. I really do want
-
to be more like your search me. Let it be my delight, Let
-
it be my pleasure to do what is right. Times said I couldn't play
-
out. I really start twisting my arm, and I recall the times you've
-
took me. Do you mind there's one thing that I couldn't do. Shot.
-
You see, we should have to twist it. We should have to
-
twist draws. We should have to bake it. We should have to make
-
it a different. We should have to speak the word or body. Oh
-
Jesus, if you should speak it, I'll do it. You see in
-
your word, I'll do it. Speak your word not to do day.
-
So I know what you've told me to do. Aboard, I know where
-
you sit there. See, how know what you expect to your heart?
-
How told what you told me to give up? Here? I have a
-
desire to obey. Look in some authority to speak to and you serve host
-
goes. Tell us all Jesus speak, help us at all help a soft
-
Jesus, help us hold you to speak. I com old young man,
-
ers two of you in your techno, we want to strong you have.
-
We just want to ask you why is it it's your pleasure you save?
-
Oh go. Now there's been times that I've complained as I CROs against the
-
grain. Then I recall the times you took me to my deans. But
-
the one pain so I just distanks you, for it was you, Lord.
-
Keep my cross to caw boy speak the word, my lord boy speak
-
door ear long my party to so set. I'll be one. You have
-
me ust me the world long and you servive will Yeah, you speak the
-
fall tattle field where far me bin no, and that's where I lod the
-
be oh in the desert without a three god some more she about the scene.
-
Allow your just stream sweep the word low, my longing sweet word low
-
my sweep me the low. I'll be one. You have me down,
-
you stir down in time, said I complained, I like rooms against the
-
greeting. I recalled the times you to be to mine. But there's one
-
thing I so I saw these things to read, for it was you,
-
Lord, answer my crawl to cowl read speak the word lord on my long
-
good hear you mean the world long? My m e wordlone. How one
