The Gospel to All Creation - The Gospel is Good News

Happy Easter. It is so fantastic to be here with

all of you worshiping our risen Lord. I welcome to

the Roots. If this is your first time here where

it's all about Jesus. We love God, we love people,

We reach the lost, and we make disciples. And one

of the things about the Roots is we love to

go through the Bible regularly, and we actually last week

just finished our series in Exodus. We just took about

thirteen weeks, and so if you would please open your

bibles to Leviticus one, we're gonna be and I'm just kidding,

it's a joke, that's not what we're doing today. But eventually,

eventually we're gonna work our way through all the books

of the Bible, and so the levitic Kiss will be

on the doc. But that is not today. If you

actually don't own a Bible or have a Bible, we

actually have a ton of free ones. They're nice. It

kind of look like this except for they're black and

their great quality. If you do not own a Bible,

it is so important that you have God's word available

to you, and so please go grab one, take one

for yourself, keep it. That is our gift to you. So,

now what we're going to do is we're actually going

to read a bit of God's word, pray and jump

right into today's message. You guys ready, all right? This

is God's word. For God so love the world that

he gave his only son, that whoever believes in him

should not perish, but have eternal life. For our sake.

He made him to be sin, who knew no sin,

so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.

For Christ also suffered for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous,

that he might bring us to God. Being put to

death in the flesh, but made alive in the spirit,

He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree,

that we might die to sin and live to righteousness.

By his wounds, you have been healed, and you who

were dead in your trespasses, in the uncircumcision of your flesh,

God made alive together with him, having forgiven us all

our trespasses. By canceling the record of death that stood

against us with its legal demands. This he set aside,

nailing it to the cross. For the wages of sin

is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life.

In Christ Jesus, our Lord. There is therefore now no

condemnation for those who are in Christ. Jesus, he who

did not spare his own son, but gave him up

for us all, How will he not also, with him

graciously give us all things. For you know the grace

of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich,

yet for your sake he became poor, so that you,

by his poverty, might become rich. For the son of

man came not to be served, but to serve, and

to give his life as a ransom for many. The

saying is trustworthy and deserving of full acceptance. That Christ

Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom

I am the foremost. In this is love, not that

we have loved God, but that He loved us and

sent his son to be the propitiation for our sins.

Worthy are you to take the scroll and to open

its seals, For you were slain, and by your blood

you're ransom to people for God, from every tribe in

language and people in nation to Him. All the prophets

bear witness that everyone who believes in Him receives forgiveness

of sins through his name. But he was pierced for

our transgressions. He was crushed for our iniquities. Upon him

was the chastisement that brought us peace. And with his

wounds we are healed. So Christ, having been offered once

to bear the sins of many, will appear a second time,

not to deal with sin, but to save those who

were eagerly waiting for him. For one will scarcely die

for a righteous person, though perhaps for a good person

one would dare even to die. But God shows his

love for us, and that while we were still sinners,

Christ died for us. Since therefore we have now been

justified by his blood, much more shall we be saved

by him from the wrath of God. For while we

were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death

of his son. Much more, now that we are reconciled,

shall we be saved by his life. For I delivered

to you as of first importance what I also received,

that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the scriptures,

that he was buried, and that he was raised on

the third day in accordance with the scriptures. Let it

be known to you, therefore, brothers, that through this man

forgiveness of sins is proclaimed to you, and by him,

everyone who believes is freed from everything from which you

could not be freed by the law of Moses. But

when the goodness and loving kindness of God, our Savior appeared,

he saved us not because of works done by us

in righteousness, but according to his own mercy, by the

washing of regeneration and renewal of the Holy Spirit, whom

He poured out on us richly through Christ, Jesus, Jesus Christ,

our Savior, so that being justified by his grace, we

might become errors according to the hope of eternal life.

For by grace you have been saved through faith. And

this is not your own doing. It is the gift

of God, not a result of work. So that no

one may boast. It will be counted to us who

believe in Him who raised from the dead, Jesus our Lord,

who is delivered up for our trespasses and raised for

our justification. Because if you confess with your mouth that

Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God

raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For

with the heart one believes and is justified, and with

the mouth, one confesses and is saved. Thus it is

written that the Christ should suffer and on the third

day rise from the dead, and that for that repentance

for the forgiveness of sin should be proclaimed in his

name to all nations, beginning from Jerusalem. For I'm not

ashamed of the gospel. For it is the power of

God for salvation to everyone who believes. To the jew

first and also to the Greek. And Jesus said to him,

I am the Way and the Truth and the life.

No one comes to the Father except through me. This

is God's word. Lord, we lift you up. You rose

from the dead.

You have all authority, all power in all say you

are Lord, and you have spoken to us through your word.

And so Lord, I just ask that as your word

goes forth, that you would not return void, but it

would be fruitful that you would use this moment to

change people's lives, that you would use this moment to

change people's eternities, that leaving here today, they are no longer.

The same, and not because of them, but because of you.

And so Lord, we just asked that the power, the truth,

the proclamation of your gospel would be revealed clearly, that

you would remove the scales, remove the veil, remove the

blindness of our eyes, the deafness from our ears, the

hardness of our hearts, that we would see you and

magnify you above all, draw us to yourself. In this moment, Lord,

we thank you, We give you this time, and ask

that your spirit would already have been starting to do

a work in each and every one of us. In

Jesus' name. Everyone said, amen, all right, we can go home. Kidding.

We live in an interesting day and age. Who has

a cell phone have social media? I know somebody were like,

maybe I shouldn't do that. We live in a day

of social media influencers, all that type of stuff everywhere.

Self help gurus trying to help you live your best

life now or make the most of the life that

you've been given. Many of them will say things to

try and kind of help put things into perspective. They

might say things like live like you wish you had

if you were looking back from your deathbed. It's kind

of helpful, kind of inspirational, and you're like, yeah, that

might help me choose what I want to eat today.

That might help me choose what school I want to

go to. If I want to make this move or not.

While this is helpful and inspirational advice, there is a

problem and that is not everyone is guaranteed a deathbed experience,

but everyone is guaranteed an eternity. Everyone is guaranteed an eternity.

At some point, unknown to you, you will die and

you're going to go to either an eternity of judgment

and wrath do your sins, or to eternal life because

of Jesus. But we, unfortunately as people, have this problem

where we spend the least amount of time thinking about

where we're going to spend the most amount of time.

Which is why if we really want help, instead of

living like we're looking for our deathbad, we need to

live like we're looking back from our eternity. You think

about that just for a second, and very quickly you

would see like maybe that would impact a little bit

more of how I think about today. If I'm spending

an eternity in wrath, which is not comfortable, I just

want to make that clear, I might look back on

my life differently. The same goes if I were to

be living an eternal life with my Savior and Lord,

I would still look back on my life and how

I still could have lived it differently. Either way, it

would be a sobering reality to what truly matters in

your life. So what I want to tell you today

is that the message that we just heard from those verses,

the message of the Gospel, cannot only change your life,

but can change your eternity. Where are you headed? Because

if you are not in Christ, if you do not

put your faith and trust in Christ and His finished work,

you are headed to hell. That is your eternity, eternal wrath,

no end, day or night, torment for your sins, your

rebellion and rejection against God forever. Take about five seconds

of that, and I'm sure we would look back to

our life and go like man, and there was an

off ramp. There was a different road, There was a

different path. It's a little bit more narrow than the

life I was living, but there was an off ram.

When did you first hear the gospel? Think back to

that moment. When did you first hear the gospel? Like

really understood it, really heard it. Maybe you heard it

growing up in church. Maybe a friend told you at school,

maybe a coworker invited you to church, maybe someone knocked

on your door. Maybe you opened your bible and just

started reading, because just so you know, God's word is sufficient,

so you could you could just open your bible and

God's message of the Gospel is in there that can

save you. You save your soul from an eternity of

hell to eternity of life. The Gospel is the reason

that you're sitting in this room right now with a

bunch of friends or strangers or maybe even strange friends.

The gospel is the good news of Jesus Christ, who

died for our sins and was raised on the third day.

The gospel the good news that Jesus lived the perfect

life that you could not live, and was raised on

the third day so that all who believe in him

would be one day raised to eternal life. The Gospel

is the greatest news of all time because it impacts

and effects your eternity. You're forever. That's kind of a

big deal. It's kind of important. Christ was crucified and

was raised from the dead. Jesus did the one thing

that people don't do, just come back from the dead

and stay alive. Even the people Jesus raised from the dead.

They went on to die again.

But Jesus is alive. And Jesus sits enthroned right now

in heaven. Jesus is alive. And because Jesus is the

only person to have come back and stay back, he's

the only one who truly has the authority to kind

of tell what's on the other side. And he has,

and he's told us to get the word out. Is

an eternal judgment or eternal life found in him. This

is why we're here today. Easter Sunday, Resurrection Sunday, the

day the Son of God, Jesus Christ rose from the dead.

Two thousand years ago. Something so incredible happened that ever

since then we have started counting as the whole world.

Jesus rose from the dead. And this is the greatest

news you will ever hear. It is greater than your

child's first Christ. It's greater than hearing I love you

for the first time. It's greater than hearing the cancer

is gone. It's greater than hearing that you won the lottery.

This is the news that in Christ Jesus, your sins

are forgiven, you are made holy, and you are brought

near to God. For anyone, for all who believe. Now

today we are starting a brand new series called the

Gospel to all creation. So we're gonna go for the

next four weeks looking at what it means to preach

the Gospel to all creation. Evangelism preaching the Gospel the

good news of what Jesus Christ has done. So it's

Resurrection Sunday. So today it's just the good News. We're

gonna be looking at what the good news is. And

next week we're gonna talk about preaching the Gospel to ourself.

The next week we're gonna be talking about preaching the

gospel to those who think they know the gospel, and

then preaching the gospel to those who just have never

heard or have no idea. But today is it's very

important because today we're just looking at what the gospel is,

because you need to know the gospel before you can

ever share the gospel. So we're gonna look at these

three things today. First, we're gonna look at that the

gospel is simple. The Gospel is simple. The second thing

we're gonna look at is the gospel is good news.

And finally we're gonna look at that the Gospel is

meant to get out. So first let's start with the

gospel is simple, and there's a reason that today I

started by just reading the Bible. First of all, we

always do that, not like that, but we do read

the Bible regularly. And the reason that I started with

twenty plus different verses and places in the Bible is

because those places tell us the gospel. Those verses are

preaching the Gospel to us. And I did that to

show you that there's many different ways of preaching or

sharing the Gospel. Not I didn't read the same verse

over and over and over and over and over again,

but I did preach the same Gospel to you. Some

of them were very similar, some of them were short,

some of them were long, some were really detailed, and

some were very simple. And why it's important that we

talk about why or the fact that the Gospel is simple,

is because one of the biggest roadblocks that we have

as Christians, one of the biggest fears that we have,

and even sharing the Gospels, we're just like, I don't

know what I'm gonna say. What I'm supposed to share

the gospel. I know that, but I don't even know

what to say. So I want to help you when

it comes to sharing the Gospel. Keep it simple, same,

Just keep it simple. John three sixteen. For God so

loved the world that he gave his only son, that

whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life.

One of the reasons this is one of the most

famous Bible verses ever is because it's the Gospel in

McDonald's form, except for it's good for you like, that's

the difference. It's available. It gets the message across. Does

it get every detail. No, but you can hear this

verse and go like I get it. God sent his

son Jesus Christ, and he obviously did something to the

to the point in which if I put my faith

in trust in him, I will not die, but I'll

have eternal life. There's many ways to share the gospel,

as we saw in those verses. So if we're struggling

to know the gospel, we just need to spend some

time on those verses. Don't come up with your own

clever way of preaching the gospel, then you're gonna you

might you might get weird, and we do not want

to get weird when it comes to the gospel. So

if you're struggling to know how to share the gospel, memorize,

familiar familiarize yourself with these verses and simply share the

gospel and said this for a while, And I do

think it's a helpful reminder. If you're a Christian, you

know the gospel. It's kind of a prerequisite. Guys, Like,

that's kind of the whole deal, is that you know

the good News and you put your trust in it.

So share that, share that. That's what you're to share.

You know what you're saved by, you know what you're

saved from, that's what you share. And why we got

to say this is because we can really work ourselves

up about not having the answers or feeling like we

need to explain. In the beginning, God created everything, everything

was good. Man was awesome, and then he wasn't and

he rebelled and he was really bad, and he's kind

of stayed that way. And Christ came and died for

all those who believe, etcetera, etcetera. And you can go

on and go, you can go on in so much detail,

and that's where we kind of stop ourselves. We're like, well,

what details, How do we know what to share what

not to share? But the gospel is and can be

said simply as I said, you don't have to read

all those verses at the same time. One of them

will suffice You're like, I wish you'd done that. No,

you need to know it's in there and it's available

to you. It's not hiding, if anything, you are. The

Gospel is as deep and as vast as the ocean,

but it only takes one drop to revive the soul.

You could spend forever exploring the depths of this good news,

and yet you could hear it in its most basic,

simple form.

Believe in Christ and be saved, and your eternity has changed.

Are you kidding me?

Because of that?

That is crazy? That's crazy.

Like when we share the gospel, there's only two responses.

We receive it, we reject it. The gospel only has

two effects on the heart. It either hardens the heart

or it softens the heart. And it sucks because we

act as if all of this is on us, as

if we have the power to save, as if we're

the ones responsible for what happens on the other side

of me sharing the gospel, or we're just we're concerned

about how I know what the Gospel is gonna do.

It's either gonna be good news for someone or they're

not gonna be happy that I shared that it's hard.

It's not easy. Just to be clear, it's like, I'm

gonna say it's easy, right in the sense I didn't

say it's easy. Actually, I said it's simple. That's all

I said. I said it's simple. But it's still it

cannot feel easy to share the gospel. And let me

give you an example. Yesterday we had family over. It's

a mixed bag. It's a mixed group, believers, non believers.

It's time to pray over lunch. I had already set

in my heart that I'm going to not only thank

Jesus for the food, but I'm going to actually thank him,

you know, for the reason we're looking for eggs and

eating sandwiches and getting together in the first place. And

as soon as my wife's like, hey, food's ready, time

to eat, I'm like, I know people don't want to

hear this. I know immediately this could get weird. Now

here's the deal. It's nice because I'm not just saying like, hey, everybody,

let's sit down and spiable time. I'm gonna tell you

a little bit about the gospel. One of my favorite

ways to share the gospel is to be like, let's pray,

and people are like sure, and then I just putting

the gospel in the prayer. It's very sneaky, but it works.

One day we are going to be more bold, right.

But even still, so after it was finally everyone's like, no, no,

it's time, I was like, all right, let's do this.

So we pray, keeping it simple, Thank you Jesus that

you died on the cross for our sins and that

you rose on the third day. Bless this food. Amen.

And even still afterwards people were like, hey, you lost

me at the sins. The gospel, even in its simplest form,

impacts people, whether it's hardening the heart more or softening it.

But it's not for us to worry about We worry

about it because we care about these people. But also

sometimes we're scared and we don't want people to not

like us. We don't want people to treat us differently.

We don't want to make this interaction awkward for the

rest of the three hours that we have together. But

it is a good news. It's just it's so selfish

to think about ourselves in that situation when our security

and our eternity is good, and yet there's this weird

tension and uncomfortable situation that we might have in sharing

the Gospel for this life, for those three hours when

this could change their eternity. This hurts. I kind of

went off on a tangent to the gospel needs to

be kept simple. And one of the ways that it's

helpful to keep the gospel simple and at the forefront

of our mind is when you wake up in the morning,

simply preach the gospel to yourself. I think we've already

preached the gospel to ourselves. We are going to be

more ready to share the gospel when those opportunities come

and be like, oh wait, what is that thing I believe?

It's like, no, no, no, we started our day with the

thing I depend on and that I need desperately. So

the gospel isn't simply a message, a simple message with

little significance. It's a simple message that's good news. It's

a simple message that is the greatest news we'll look

at that. The gospel is good news. The gospel also

literally means good news. It means good news. That's what

the gospel is. But unfortunately, I fear that many of

us treat what was once good news that gets old news.

We treat what was good news like it's old news

because he's the deal. You may have already checked out

right now when I read all the verses, you stop listening.

They're like, all right, that church again. We're doing the thing.

This guy's gonna talk about Jesus. We're gonna sing the songs,

or I'll dip out early and we're going to go

eat food or do whatever we're gonna do for the

rest of our day. And at church they preach the

gospel thing. You may have already tuned me out. I

pray to God that if I can't hold your attention,

the Lord can't have you lost your wonder for the

good news? Was it ever wonderful? Did you ever taste?

Did you ever see? Do you believe in?

Live?

Like? The good news is just that good news? Could

I look at your life, but someone look at my

life and go like, man, that guy has some good news.

That guy believes some good news. People share good news

all the time. You may have just had a baby,

you may have just gotten engaged, you got a new job. Uh,

but all of those, all of all of that news

becomes old news. And because it becomes old news, we

move on, but the Gospel never stopped being good news,

and a lot of us will live like, all right, yep,

I believe the gospel, and now it's time to move on.

It's no longer relevant for me. We're gonna look at

next week. That is not true. You need the Gospel

every day. But also in a world that isn't exactly

getting better at the moment, kind of getting darker, more problems,

it's more relevant than ever to have good news that

isn't just in something that's going to fail you or fade,

but that is going to save you forever. Look at

how great this news is. For God so love the

world that he gave his only son, that whoever believes

in him should not perish but have eternal life. For

Christ also suffered once for sins the righteous, for the unrighteous,

that he might bring us to God, being put to

death in the flesh, but being made alive in the spirit.

This is the good news. And we also live in

a culture where it's funny we were surrounded by bad news.

We also don't want to hear bad news. We don't

want to hear specifically bad news as it pertains to us.

We live in a culture where we don't want to

be told we're wrong. We live in a culture where

we don't want to be told we're bad, and the

Bible calls us both. The reason the Bible does that,

apart from it just being a true fact, is because

the the good news is not that great until you

really realize the extent of the bad news. And once

you realize the extent of the bad news, you realize

it's not just good news, it's great news. Because in

our verses today that we looked at, just to name

a couple of them, it said that we were dead

in our trespasses, spiritually dead, and on account of our sin,

we're already dead men walking called us sinners, lawbreakers, unrighteous,

meaning we're unholy and enemies of God. We are at

odds with God. And that is every single one of

us before our belief in Christ. And just to be clear,

that's not an exhaustive list. The Bible has a lot

to say about us, and it doesn't paint like the

most flattering picture of our hearts, of our condition, of

our lives. But if we're honest with ourselves, we know

that already we are God's creation, Who's rebelled against him.

It's broken everything. Every hardship has come into your life,

either because of your own sin or because of the

sin of others. Sin is everywhere, and there's no way

that you can fix it yourself. We try, through our

own good works to outweigh our sin, but I mean, really,

just put that into perspective. The criminals brought before the judge,

and he's like, I know, I murdered the whole household,

but I have driven the speed limit my entire life.

He still has to answer for his crimes. We still

have to answer for our crimes. We owe a debt

because of our rebellion, because of our unrighteousness, because of

our unholiness. The Bible says that all of our good

words are like filthy rags, which means that there's only

real two solutions for us. Then either they need to

be washed or they need to be thrown out. And

any one of us who stay in this condition, and

we'll be thrown out, thrown out into outer darkness, thrown

into the fires of hell to pay the punishment for

our rebellion and sin against God forever. That's the bad news,

but the good news, so we can be washed white

as snow. It's because of what Jesus did on the

behalf of everyone who would believe in him, And guys

writing this list is so humbling, but we're gonna we'll

get into that. Look at these things says that because

of what Christ did, God gave his son in our

place to be sin, meaning he wasn't sinful, but he

took the blame do our sin. He suffered for our sin.

He bore our sins, having been nailed to a cross.

He the creator of the universe, became poor, He came

to serve. He gave his life as a ransom. He's

a propitiation of our sins. And what that means is

that he satisfied the wrath do our sin by taking

on that wrath. He was slain, He was pierced for

our transgressions, crushed for our iniquities, chastised, wounded, He died,

he was buried, He was delivered up for our chestpasses.

He suffered. That's what Christ took in your place. Christ

the righteous one died in the place of the unrighteous.

Christ the Holy died for the sinner. Christ gave his

life for those who were dead. Christ the son of

God died for the enemies of God. But Jesus didn't

just take what we deserved on account of our sin.

That's not the only thing he did. Christ didn't just

wipe the debt clean and say, all right, don't mess

it up again, which is unfortunate. A lot of us

treat our Christian walk like that, all right, you forgave

me everything up to this moment, now don't sin. That's

not how it is Christ. And in Christ, we're giving

eternal life. Not only do we not perish eternally, we're

actually given eternal life. Meaning he didn't just pay our debt.

He infinitely filled our account with his righteousness. That's good news.

You're good, not even because you're good, you're good because

He's good. And that's good. We were owed eternal wrath

and death, but the eternal One took on our wrath

and died in our place to give us eternal life.

And genuinely working through this as I was writing out

this list, just kind of going like I want to see,

Jesus took our sin. It says that a lot in

these verses Jesus took our sin. Jesus for sins he

suffered for our sins, he was punished in our place,

all of these things, writing down that list, and then

are looking at the other side of the list, going like,

what are we given? What does it just say we're given?

And honestly, it's humbly because you're like man like. He

took a lot, and it all kind of had to

do with the same thing that I didn't measure up,

that I fell short, that I was rebelled and sinned,

and he was punished in my place. But instead, when

I put my trust in him, he takes my place.

He forgives me that sin, and then he gives me

all of this, and this is just look at this.

I won't perish, but instead and you won't perish if

you put your faith in him. Instead, you get eternal life.

You become the righteousness of God. You were brought near

to God. You can die to sin, you can live

to righteousness. You are healed, made alive in the Holy Spirit, forgiven.

There's no condemnation. You're given all things. You become rich,

you're saved, you can have peace. You are loved, justified, reconciled,

saved from wrath, washed, regenerated, renewed by the Holy Spirit,

and air with Christ, you have hope, you've been shown grace.

That's still not an exhaustive list, and it touches a

lot of things. Because of Jesus, we don't perish like

we deserve, but instead we get all of that. Now,

dare we forget it? This is not a full list.

What don't we have to share with people? Every deep issue,

every problem that mankind faces is answered by the Gospel,

So how can we not share it? We have the

cure to cancer and not just well, how are we

not sharing it? It's like having that the truth is

apart from Christ, ourselves, every loved one, every coworker is terminal.

We're headed to eternal wrath, eternal death apart from Christ,

and there is only one remedy. They need Christ. We

need Christ, which is why it's not just good news

for us or good news to keep to ourselves, but

it's good news that is meant to get out and

I need the band to come up please. Romans says this,

because if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord,

and believe in your heart that God raised him from

the dead, you will be saved for what the heart

one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one

confesses and is saved. The scripture says, every one who

believes in him will not be put to shame, because

there's no distinction between jew and Greek. For the same

Lord is Lord of all, bestowing his riches on all

who call on him. For everyone who calls in the

name of the Lord will be saved. That is the

good news. But it's good news meant to get out.

Look at this, It says, how then will they call

on him in whom they have not heard? And how

are they to believe in Him of whom they have

never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching?

And how are they to preach unless they are sent?

As it is written. How beautiful are the feet of

those who preach the good news? But they have not

all obeyed the gospel. For Isaiah says, Lord who has

believed what he has heard from us. So faith comes

from hearing and hearing through the word of Christ. Everyone

is called to repent and believe in the finished work

of Jesus on the Cross. For those who refuse and

stay in their sins, they are already condemned because of

their sin. For those who respond by believing in Christ,

they will receive the gift of eternal life. But how

will they respond if no one is getting the good

news out to them. It's the means by which God

brings about faith in someone's heart, that is by hearing

the gospel. So it needs to be said, your job

isn't to get them to believe. Your job is to

share the gospel with them. It's to sow the seed.

It's to get the word out, and you let God

worry about the results. The good news that we preach

is that for all those who are in Christrist, that is,

by putting their faith in Christ. Those who are in Christ,

your sins are forgiven, you are made holy, and you

are brought near to God. And if God has not

changed your heart, you won't care about that message. If

you're sitting in this room and you hear those words

and you do not care, I worry for your eternity.

But I pray, by God's grace, the only thing able

to soften your hard heart, that you would hear that

message and it would change your life. It would change

your eternity, is the good News to save your soul.

So I must ask each and every one of you.

Are you in Christ? Are you in Christ? Have you

put your faith in Jesus? Are you saved? Now is

the time to do so. Repent of your sins, believe

in Jesus Christ, risen from the dead, and be saved.

If you've done that. The other side of this is

the gospel still good news to you, and you can

say that, yes it is. That's the right Christian answer.

But the real question is do you live like it?

Do you live like it's good news? Do you live

like you have eternal life that your sins have been

paid for by Christ? Because I believe if we truly

believe that we are saved in Christ, that we've been

giving all we've been given all those things. When we

we truly see the glories of Heaven and we come

into that, we're gonna look back and realize how much

time we wasted in this life not living for Him.

Because I need this to be made clear. We don't

start living for Christ when we get to heaven, when

we are saved. From the moment we are saved now

is when we are called to start living for Him.

We're not called. So that means that Jesus isn't just

worthy of two Sundays out of the year. That means

Jesus is worthy of every Sunday that you have. Jesus

is worthy of every Monday that you have. But a

lot of us will take these blessings for ourselves. We

only come to worship him on Easter, on Christmas or

when it's convenient for us. But He's worthy of our

worship every week. Is this what we're going to be

doing for eternity is living for Him and worshiping him.

So you better get used to it now. He's worthy

to be worshiped, not how we define but how He

defines it. Gospel is will transform you. So have you

stayed the same as you were before Christ? Christ has

called you out of the world, So how can you

still live in it? How can we indulge it? Especially

reading that list, and how can we indulge in the

same sins that Christ suffered for? Do we even think

about it like that? When we look at what Christ

saved us from, what it cost him, what he gives us,

how could we stay the same and how could we

keep it to ourselves? Good News transforms your life. You're

not the same the day you become a parent. You're

not the same the day you're freed from addiction. So

how can you not be transformed by the greatest news.

And I say all of these things now because I

may never see you again for one reason or another.

I might not see some of you until next Easter

or Christmas Eve. That's the reality. So I want these

things to soak in or take root or grab our hearts.

We need to be soaked in it. And as we're

gonna look at next week, what it looks like to

continually preach the Gospel to ourselves so that we don't

forget it and we can actually live by it, that

it has practical, real implications for our life now of

putting off our old self and putting on the new study.

These verses meditate on the truth so that you're ready

to start. Start with John three point sixteen, move down

the list, google Gospel Bible verses. It's all available to us,

and just start to have that be a part of

your vocabulary. Start preaching it to yourself. I was even

thinking this week, like how can I try and remember

like what I'm what I'm trying to get at when

I'm talking to people. What's the point of me trying

to share the gospel, and for me, I try to

be somewhat helpful. But just God's only Son provides eternal life.

That is what I'm trying to get to when I'm

talking to people, that God's only Son provides eternal life.

Now we can start talking about that more, but that

is what I'm really trying to work towards. This can

help us trying to share the gospel be the point

we're trying to get to Jesus and his finished work.

When it comes down to it, here simply what we're

trying to share. And that's what we got to tell

ourselves every day. Anytime we encounter someone who feels guilt

and shame, anytime we feel guilt and shame, anytime we

see someone living like the world, or anytime we are

living like the world, anytime we meet someone who is

far from God, or anytime we feel far from God.

This is what we preach. Now. For those who are

in Christ, your sins are forgiven. For those who are

in Christ, you are made holy. For those who are

in Christ, you are brought near to God. Repent and

believe this gospel. Preach the Gospel to yourself daily. Preach

the gospel to those around you, brothers and sistors. The

gospel is simple, the gospel is good news, and the

gospel is meant to get out. I appreciate that each

and every one of your lives from this moment forward

would be marked by the good news that for God

so loved the world that he gave his only son,

that whoever believes in him would not perish, but have
