The magi meets the Messiah - Bro Jeremy Howell 12-24-2023

If you have your bibles, will you turn with me to the Book of

Isaiah. May I direct your attention to the sixtieth chapter and the first verse,

the sixtieth chapter and the first verse. Brother Jesse, Saint Matthew's Gospel,

Chapter number two, you will be reading verses number one and two.

Brother Nathaniel, Saint Matthew's Gospel, Chapter number four, you will be reading

the sixteenth verse of that chapter. If you're glad to be in church on

Christmas Eve, say amen, I'm glad you're happy to be here, so

thankful for that. So many people tonight are doing other things, and I

know we're not judging them, but I'm glad that Bethel hole in this church

found it important to be in two services on Christmas Eve. And you know

what, we'd have done the same thing on Christmas Day, had two services.

thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee. And the gentiles shall

come to Thy light and kings to thy brightness of thy rising. Remember this,

the Magi were gentiles, and the gentiles shall come to Thy light.

Messiah and kings to the brightness of Thy rising. Lift up thine eyes round

about and see all they gather themselves together they come to thee. Thy son

shall come from far, and thy daughters shall be nursed at thy side.

Then thou shalt see and flow together, and thine heart shall fear and be

enlarged, because the abundance of the sea shall be converted unto thee. The

fierceness of the gentiles shall come unto thee. What does that say? The

forces of the gentiles shall come unto thee and wear old? Where or my

reading lesses. Let's pray, Heavenly Father, we love and we praise you.

We thank you for the opportunity to come into your house. I thank

you, Lord for each and every person finding and important to be in your

house as we celebrate your birthday. I pray that you would anoint this thy

servant set of guard in my mouth, and help me to say the things

that you would have me to say, nothing more or less. Anoint the

ears of this thy people, that they might hear what the Spirit saith under

the church through the preach word. I prayed God that these sayings would go

below the shoulders God, not only in that mind let them be found,

but in that heart a spear. And I pray, God, we need

to be hearers, and we need to heed what we've heard. I pray

that you would help us to depart this place joyfully and not sorrowly, in

Jesus' name. And the Church said, hey, man, as you're being

seated. Reading verse number one of the sixtieth chapter of the Book of Isaiah,

again the Bible says, arise, shay, for thy life is come,

and the glory of the Lord is risen upon thee. Our text is

found in an Old Testament book of the Holy Bible. The title bears the

name of its after the prophet. Isaiah is considered a major prophet because of

the leakediness of the prophetic writings in this book of the Bible. He is

also considered a major prophet due to the numerous insights and visions that he received

from the Lord regarding forthcoming and futuristic events. The Bible readers and students among

us will remember that there are some disheartening words in the fiftieth nine chapter of

this particular sacred writing. Look at this verse in Isaiah fifty nine and verse

number nine in Isaiah, chapter number fifty nine and verse number nine. In

it, we see some people who are waiting for light to come, men

and women, boys and girls that are sitting in darkness awaiting light to come.

They anticipate brightness for their journey, but they find themselves walking in darkness.

But the sixtieth chapter begins are opens with hope. A word of hope

is found in this statement, arise shy again, words of hope are found

and upward in this statement, arise, shine, for the light is come.

How important is light? How important was the Star of Bethlehem for those

that sawid, discovered it, found it, and followed it. It was

quite significant. Wouldn't you say? How many people in this building to not

with wholeheartedly concur with this statement that light is vital or very important for the

survival of humanity, also for those animals within the animal kingdom. In fact,

all forms of life need a light. There might be a few creatures

in the bottom of the depth of the sea that do not require light,

But I feel like even the smallst ray or beam of light that makes its

way to the bottom of the Mariana trench is beniple to any form of marine

Trench. Thank God for our natural light that we're fied by day in the

sun. And I also thank God for the natural lighting of the moon that

lights our skies and our cities by night. And so we must concur with

this quite significant statement that light is good and that light is most important.

In Genesis chapter number one, the Lord himself, the Creator, speaking with

the Holy Council the Trio Godhead, they said, let there be lights in

the firmament. And they beheld the lights and that source of light that emitted

from the sun, and they said, it is good. The declaration up

the Godhood is still true that light is a good thing. It puts a

light to give light upon the surface of the Earth, or light to give

what was working in them was not entirely of God. They were definitely consulting

with strange spirits. But I believe ultimately these men were seekers of truth.

And it said that they said, where is he that is born keen of

the Jews? Why would that have significance to them? I'll tell you why.
