Forging Fathers - Bro Samuel Howell 6-16-2024

O blaeth the Lord heaven. Have you wanted to obey the Lord? I

appreciate my son. Amen. They't so glad to be in the house of

our father's spiritual father, heavenly Father. Thank you, pastor talking right now

about being molded and changed. God give me this message. Last Sunday night

he got up here to talking about I'm hammering at this and God immediately spoken

to my heart. My heart started raising and burning the fire. So I

don't take it lightly as an honor to be in this whole bit. It's

a serious thing and there's nothing to play around with, taking my burthen serious.

And I'm certainly thinking for my father that I've got such a man of

God teaching me how to raise my kids. I'm still under his subjection.

He's still my father. I still take the beauty and correction through him as

a father and as a pastor. I'm twenty two years old. I don't

mean nothing. I still have to listen to him. Still be obedient,

don't not being rebellious? Is my honor to be a son of his God.

Love him to death. Thankful, thankful that God borned me into this

family, giving it him. Have y'all enjoyed that preaching, But yes,

wonderful I enjoyed it. If you have your Bibles turned on me to Isaiah

chapter number fifty four, verse sixteen. Once you read this, you'll understand

God's gonna speak to someone tonight. And most of y'all, most preachers know

this. Whenever God gives a message to someone to preach, it's for us

too. We take it to heart too, just as much as it is

for you. It's for us God. Whenever I started reading this and God

start working on me, I started myself getting challenged and convicted and realizing,

God, I need to do a better job. We haven't. Please stands

for the reason of the word. Right here it says, behold, I

have created the skin that bloweth, the coals in the fire that bringeth forth

an instrument for his work. And I have created the waste to destroy This

here is talking about a blacksmith. Blacksmiths mold things. Pastor before I got

up here preaching to talk about being moaned and brothers down. So let's pray

and ask God to help us here. God help me the cloud cloud God,

process to get the reward. But they stay with it. They stick to

it because they know what the end goal is gonna be. And I pray

that we'll be challenged tonight to take heed of this. I really feel like

God has given me this netses for fathers and their sons who are raising future

fathers. I had a strong burden about this when I began to pray about

it. And as fathers, we are the blacksmith of our children's lives.

God's placed them in our lives that it's our job to make sure that they

are becoming what God is wanting them to be. That way, they are

whatever weapon that he has need of, whatever type of tool that he has

need of. Blacksmith, they create everything. And in the Vile Day,

that's what it was saying, is he's having to create something in order to

get some work done. So he's having to put forth work to even begin

to work. And as fathers, we got to do the same thing.

We got to put forth some work to show our sons how to work.

That way then has passed on from generation to generation, from one man to

another, not raising slawful sons, but working sons. And I know that

God is gonna do something here tonight. I just pray that we really get

with it because God's given them into our hands and their He's a metal that

we are for me that God said, look, I'm giving you this.

Now you have to take control of this. Yeah, I know God is

the ultimate blacksmith in my life. But my father played it a very important

role in my life. And as fathers, we have a very serious thing

that we have to take in account. That is nothing to fool around with.

I don't want my son to be left behind, you know. And

when rebellion sticks up that I forget to hammer that out, I don't put

it back in the fire when it's starting to cool down. I got they

gotta go put it back in the fire to heat it up again, because

if they don't, when it pulls down, it's unfinished. And whenever they

go to put it back in, if I get a crack in it,

don't let it cool down. When that rebellion sticks up, it's time to

strike on that handle. There's something called a cutting a cutting table. If

you forget to use the cutting to cut out that rebellion, that stubreness,

that one that pussed up against you. Whenever us fought with use kids,

Whenever your parents say no, what does that mean? That means no.

I'm sick and tired of seeing these pop fathers having a to pretty much present

a court case to their children between a touch and a jury on a list

of reasons why they said no. No. My father said no, it's

not mine. You need to think, well, why not? Why can't

that I do. It's not your job to question the authority in your life.

God did not give you the hammer to hamry outsore lives. He gave

it to your father. You ought to be in subjection to him. You

are to be motive by his Hannah, not to kick against it, not

to fight against what he has, but to do and to submit to the

angle, to submit to the hammers, to submit to the fire, because

just for the well being of your thought, the're gonna shielding to the water

you and if you are, you repel it and you get they're gonna do

that things day because you don't no mission, starre not on a social mission.

Yes, the blacksmith have the problem. Come up along the way my

but I'm a father too. I'm preaching it myself, So don't get me

Don't show them what a quitter looks like. Then. I grew up

my whole life watching my father. Whenever he sent his mind to do something,

he's finished it completely. Sure, it might have took it a little

while, but he was persistent. He was constant, always there, going

back to the problem because he knew if he didn't do it, then it

was just a waste of time, a waste of track on a piece of

trash. But you can't give up on your issue that you have. Your

children need you to stay faithful and persistent. Rested a little harder until he

saw the warp in the metal began to straighten out. He began to get

down on his knees and say, Lord, I know he has an issue.

I know from experience, as I've already said, I know what it's

like to be struggling. But I had a father that was faithful, that

didn't give up. So don't give up on your children. You get that

metal hard enough and it begins to glow hot enough, it's motivle. Keep

putting them in the furnace. That that's what it takes. You know what,

you know what a furnace is, bend them over the bed. That

might be your hammer. That any way, you got to break that mold.

You got to break that stubborness, because they'reficially gonna spend your face whenever

you telling to do something, they say no, you do it. I

would have got jack slapped across the face if I said guy as a kid,

Oh really, but I'm just saying, I would have got tore up.

I would have got tooken into the blacksmith show aka the bedroom, and

got through any more war out till I realized I walked out just too exactly

beat up and to submit to the hammer into the fire. Father, don't

back down, stand your ground and found that hammer. Get that man off

until it becomes part of the angles. If that's what it takes in order

a father I never saw him. You know, let me need to s

you're eighteen, you're on your own. You do what you want to do,

no love else. I was never raised with that mindset that once I'm

eighteen, I do whatever I want to do. No, that's the life

and the pits of hell. You're eighteen, but you're still a child.

You're still not mature. Have you paid bills for years on yours? Do

you know how to balance a budget? Do you know how to discipline yourself?

No? In fact, the case you would have been born an adult,

you were born as child, because you have to be raised on how

to react, how to act, how to respond to pressure. We got

some of these people at work, this new generation of kids, whine about

everything, have a little thing, you're running to the boss. They asked

me, why don't you report it? I don't care about it. That

there is you, It ain't mine. I was raised with tough hide.

If I got a problem, I go to the sort before I got whine

about it. Don't tell them and your father gets on to you, don't

go mama, mama, mama, daddy said, Dad, Daddy, Candy.

Just think them about it. You know who's took him out. He

wouldn't do that, says go leeping. No, don't do do around your

back. That's in your mama. Well, that's one of the worst whippings

you ever received, because you know what most mamas do. Hey, did

you tell so and something? No? Yeah? I said, no,

tell them to come here. Oh man, this is the world's worst thing.

We got in trouble with when we would ask our cousins, Hey,

don't ask that if you could stay the night, oh man, because I

thought it was more likely to say yeah if they asked. We didn't know

what to ex back, Susie, walk in the door, go to the

bedroom. Oh, we thought everything was okay. Walk in the door.

Did you tell someone so to come? Ask me? Yes? Didn't I

tell you not to do that? Yeah? You did? Oh man,

what a waman at you asked? I learned the hard wood you wait to

get paidback. I'm just kidding, but it's a part of that. We

don't forget to use our hands, I said. Then we wear one every

day. Oh, very easy accessible one. Natalie just got the belt introduced

But now to the point where if she kicks against me or she vokes her

mama, all I have to say is do you want to go get that

belt? Go, sir. Immediately she's a perfect she understands what's to come

with that bothers. That's the problem with most generations. These kids were both

they've never seen what's the belt? They just about all about it. Well,

you're supposed to wear it around your pants, that's what it's for.

Yeah, I imagine it's some of these people. You ask them in the

world, they wouldn't know what it is. Oh, God remoted precious metal

that has the potential and the ability to be used in the service of God

only if we molte it correctly, only if we present God as sword.

God is shiny, and said, Lord is strange, it's sturdy, and

it's strong. That is ready for battle. My friend, don't you they're

the black men. They have a quenching process. It's not your job to

quench that sword. It's God. Just say, you know what. They

are ready for the next phage. They are ready for you. Let God

use the quention. Don't you make that decision on your own. It's God's

choice, not yours. You're the black man. You're in charge of raising

hell, you're in charge of discipline. We need to teaching to be obedient

to the leading, the goddance of God's voice, day in, day in,

day out. And we need to know the right moment to strike.

Strike while the middle is hot when it's told it won't do nothing but make

it mad. It'll only provoke it. The Bible says, balls don't provoke

your children to wrast. You hit at the wrong moment. It's the wrong

moment exactly you'll hit it. The hammer bounces my back off. I've seen

it. Whenever they fly hammering force, that's still. When it's hot,

it bounces higher. But whenever it's soft, it's motival and it's platable.

That intention meets his market, and that metal molts and it begins to stay

God's giving you the strength as a father to be more of a man than

they are, to add pressure at the right pressure points. Whenever they start

Our dad had to mold five boys to be men, all in an

thing. It is possible. You don't have to raise him the same.

You don't need a girl that's half boy and a boy that's half girl.

Now, imagine as soon as they touched the ground, they're gonna be running

for the nearest tree, a bunch of cowards, all thanks to fathers who

gave up on their children, said all, they'll figure it out. Maybe

that video game will show them how to fight every one of them. School

shooters. They go to a place where there's unarmed children. They know there's

gonna be no resistance, no resistance fathers. They go to who they think

is the weakest. They go what they think there's least resistance. If you're

you're the man of the house, you're supposed to have the most resistance.

You're supposed to know, you know what, you're supposed to have enough God,

and to be able to tell them, I should have followed my gun,

I should have something to what I said. Regret it's sure to be

followed. Whenever you don't stay in the back of your mind, you know

the whole time. I should have stayed with what I said, because then

you know what, you spend the whole night worrying, Oh are they okay?

Are they okay? I don't know. Maybe I shouldn't have it.

If you thought so much that you should have it, then you shouldn't have

if you're not one hundred percent sure to know. I know there's times when

us boarder brothers had asked catify, because do something I just don't feel one

hundred percent comfortable with it. Sure, it let us down, but we

to regret it. I can promise you you'll love it afterwards. Now you'll

be standing in front of their caskets saying, oh, I love you.

Why didn't I say no? I knew I felt that bit in my stomach.

I knew not to go with that. I knew not to shut them

into that room. I knew to take the fission. I knew the extended

opportunity to come watch dad work. You regret it, I promise you.

I'm thankful for a father that knew what it was like to say, hey,

boys, I want to go run some hawks. We didn't have pastors

to really hone. Well, we did, but a lot of times we

didn't want to ask no one because Dad wanted the only to be him and

his sons. Right, you know how he ran hogs out of a diesel

truck, running them on the side of the road. We'd pull up on

the side of the throw the dog. Now, that was the best time

of our life. We see more hogs in than we ever did in the

pasture. Right, those are precious memories that I'll never forget. I hope

them, dear to my heart. Fathers, you have to make memories for

your children. Pastors said the other night, they're gonna tell your story.

Here I am telling his story, telling my story. My son's gonna tell

my story. I got good memories. I got fond memories, y'all.

I remember all the spankings. That's what made me into the man that I'm

not feeling something great, man, But that's what made me into the man

that made me ready to become a father. Because now I too know what

it's like. I've experienced it. I've experienced it. I know what good

it does. Sure it cost a little pain, but it's worth it.

Proverbs thirteen to twenty four says he that spareth his rod hate if his son

you don't get to put him? You hate that belts got dust on it.

You hate he ain't never darken the doors of your bedroom. You hate

him, You ain't never stan thun. Let me talk to you. You

hate. According to the Bible, you not sposy. If the tur lass

you might have don't know a had a child, you might as well put

him up for a daunt. Spect I got straighter, some one who will

love you better than you. Stead up care for Get on, throw out

Then, I tell you, no, don't wait until it's too late to

take out the hen and apply force to the inbling. They needed to be

voted now. If you don't vote them, the world would gladly say,

They'll be turned into something. But will it be out of what you

as an example. Our kids watch yours, Your kids watch ours. So

parents, it's hard job to come up on the same standard. It's all

pastors, pastor and all pastors, and future is hard talk to do.

The thing's been talking. For all, we're raising children. You refuse to

correct, another parent might get the idea to do the same thing. It's

important that we stay on top of an issue. We don't say I'm gonna

deal with it later. I'll get to it whenever I have the time.

No, the time is now. The metal is hot. It's hot with

rebellion strike it beout that wark. We're forging fathers. That is the tide.

I forgot to give it. Forging fathers. I'm forging a father,

you're forging for him. They're gonna copy me me. I'm copying him,

and my son's gonna copy me. We're gonna act the same kids, hopefully

the same respect. I wanna say something real quick. The disrespect goes on

to this world. Man, I'm a twenty two year old man. I

start paying to when I realized that I've acted you when he said yes to

my dad, I'm scared. Look sit oh, man. If I send

a text and I realized they did say sir at the end of it,

oh, I'm quick to say yes sir. I mean yes sir. I

don't want any to think that I'm getting respecting him. I don't want to

complim in that line, still bad, Why fucked your bad? You though?

You no man, it's gonna come out. Oh you are thought.

It's no matter still the day who died? This man and brother? How

my brother jib even talk about me time? That a different, But it's

all know about your man. Mother. Sorry, I don't care how old

This means to be respected with the utmost authority. He is our father.

Don't you kick against his rod? Don't you kick against his amble. We're

fortunate fathers, the next generation of fathers. If we all keep raising our

kids the way this world is, we're gonna have babies as fathers. If

they don't leave a kid to us own. Now I know this is already

happening. Where's babies being born and they're leaving them for dead? You're leaving

your child for dead. Whenever you don't come back and you don't stay with

it, you don't redew that God, what would be the outcome of the

motive your child? Once he's been through the furnace, once he's been on

the handle, will it really be a scythe that's an ugly looking thing.

It's a creepy looking thing. Whenever I was in prayer about this, I

can't see that a sword shiny by crazy and the handle was made of gold.

I pray this to give them a child and I a sword that God

is proud of. Wild say, this is a sword that will pierce the

hard finds his mark. It hits them where they need it. Right will

they find out? Lord, Lord, Lord, I have rebellious. Lord,

forgive me the sword that can be wielded by the hand of God.

That's the big sword. But God to do it. You can do it

by the help of God. God is forcing you. He is voting you.

He's putting you on the pressure. He's putting you in the fire.

He's putting you to the animal. Don't despise it. Share. It's a

little painful at times, but it's working. It's what works I heard all

my life. Father, like son, Your kids are gonna feed us like

you, whether it's daughter or boy. Fathers, it's your job too.

You have a hammer and anvile too. You're not out of this, dollars,

You're not out of this. This is you too. Focus and may

your father's a son because it's me that the responsibility of my child's has been

placed on my wife's too, primarily mine. Don't forget your dollars, fathers,

they need just as much work. Oh man, Because my daughters are

sweet, I have to be careful. That's a weakness. I love them,

love them both, all of them. Why do you think this generation

of fathers is so messed up? Because fathers just give up, walk away.

It's not my pride. Here's a three thousand dollar game. If you

to while of their kids were wearing glasses, phones in their face constantly.

Because it's an addiction. It's an addiction. If you don't break that mold,

rebellion will become an addiction. Jealousy will come forward. Go get cracks

gonna come. You knew the importance of raising a man that was gonna raise

his children. He knew that he was gonna have grandchildren that needed a father

that would stand strong, not cow like a little sissy. Boy? Would

you bring forth an instant ready for the work of God? Or will your

medal be unfinished? Whenever God says, hey, is it done? I'm

ready to use it. But is it? Then you have to say,

Lord, I didn't prath when I should have. I didn't hammer when I

should have. They kicked me, but I said, just this once,

I'll let it go. What you do it the first time, we'll do

it the second time. Because you said I gonne at one one time before

again, it is okay. They seem to be divine that thing you none.

You can't even discipline your kids. You're not getting older. You they

got free rain. They're just as much a period of that house as you

want. They think they have. There's as much authority as you have.

Man. We are the head of the house. We make the ultimate choice.

We say yes, we say no. Them kids are under your roof.

That's your kid. The pastor said, he told us, long as

you're in my roof your mind, you abide by my rules whatever I say,

oh man. Whenever we got vehicles, Dad Bottom, he always said,

there ain't gonna be none of us coming home late just because you're eighteen.

Don't give you free rain. You're gonna be home. I think was

like ten thirty or something. What we had to constantly tell you, hey

dad, if, oh man, if we were one minute, like where

are you at? I told you to be home at ten thirty because he

knew if we stretched it ten thirty one and that time on ten thirty two,

and if he continue to be okay with it, next saying us one

two in the morning out on the town because we have freedom. Freedom,

because we're eighteen, we could do what he wanted. That's not true.

Don't let down when they fight the hammer, take him put in a fire,

a heat at pressure. Don't let your hammer go the waist. Proverbs

not ten and twenty says you're counsel and receive instruction that thou mayst be wise,

And the latter is hear the counsel of your parents. Hear it that

you may be wise than your letter is. I want to be that man.

I may not be the same as him, but God has extended the

same opportunity to me as he had. And it's up to me to take

my child and say, you know what, I'm gonna make you to the

man that God want you to be. I'm gonna fight for you. Sure,
