Turned to me to Saint Matthew's Gospel Man, I direct her attention to the
-
twenty first chapter and versus number twelve three fourteen. It is so good to
-
see Sister pan Vatulia here tonight. She's just a regular, but I want
-
to acknowledge her because I love her so much. I've been wondering where she
-
was high now and that I was gonna go here our time and bring her
-
back. But I'm glad she's here. I'm glad all of y'all are here.
-
I guess everybody wants to be named. Okay, let me start.
-
It's gonna take me a while. I would like to name everybody, but
-
I'm so glad she's here. I'm glad you're here. And I'm glad with
-
this beautiful chandelier base that these brothers have fixed for us, because it was
-
not a service that I was in, not in time that I ever stood
-
in this poolpit that I was upset. I was always upset about that shandelier
-
being three eighths of an offset to the wind. But now it's that center.
-
They finally scratched that itch. Finally got that off my mind, So
-
maybe I can be a better preacher, maybe I can preach without distraction.
-
Also, this morning, like this past Wednesday night, while I was preaching,
-
I was searching for a handkerchief. Did y'all notice that? Probably didn't.
-
I was searching for a handkerchief. So this afternoon I told Sister Howell,
-
I said, if you don't mind, I know you always have them
-
stacked in there up to about ninety ten inches deep. I said, just
-
slip one in there. I know they refurbished the pool pit. It looks
-
great, but I need a snot rack, let's spit rack, whatever you
-
want to call it. Let's call it. Let's speak thingtily shall with a
-
hand kish chef. Okay, stop rat right, So I needed a spit
-
preson. So I've got it. I've got it. Everybody say, praise
-
the Lord. I've got it up here. And also if somebody has slipped
-
a bottle of water up here, I'm telling you, I thank God for
-
everything everybody's doing. You are just watching out for me. I need it.
-
I need you to watch out over me, okay. Brother Nathaniel's Second
-
Kings, chapter number two, versus number twenty three and twenty four. Brother
-
and Brother Jesse one Samuel chapter number two and verse number twenty nine. These
-
guys have been holding microphones and reading the codtext for years. Apparently preaching is
-
quite contagious. Anybody's aspiring to be a preacher, just raise your hand,
-
will slide a microphone in your hand and let you read cotext for the next
-
five years. Anybody preaching is contagious. I'm telling you. After brother Jesse
-
finished preaching a little while ago, it brought the preacher out of me.
-
I'm telling you, I feel like preacher. How many of you preachers feel
-
like preaching after that? Isn't that right? Oh? Yes, amen?
-
Brother Nathaniel's Second Kings chapter number two, versus number twenty three and twenty four.
-
Y On, listen carefully to this account. And he went up from
-
thence under Bethel. And as he was going up by the way, there
-
came forth little children out of the city and mocked him, and said on
-
to him, go up, thou loldhead, go up, thou vondhead.
-
And he turned back and looked on them and cursed them in the name of
-
the Lord. And there came forth two she bears out of the woods,
-
and tear forty and two children of them praise the Lord. I would line
-
to dedicate tonight's sermon the brother Richard Jacob. After this morning's message and ultr
-
service, I stepped off the platform and shook his hand, and he mentioned
-
this particular instance here to me, and immediately I felt a quickening of the
-
spirit of God in my soul. And him and I went up to raid
-
maybe five or six miles to cactus bags and had its tacos and breathos and
-
fatas together, and after about thirty five or forty minutes of eating, I
-
said, listen, brother, I've never done this to you, but I've
-
got to go. I've got something burning in my soul, burning a whole
-
three me. So it's been burning in my heart like fire ever since he
-
spoke of this particular biblical account reference to it, and he talked about how
-
these children must not have been raised properly. He said, what kind of
-
child would disrespect the Man of God at that level and all the awful consequence,
-
And that's been eaten on me. So I want to dedicate this to
-
brother Richard Jacob and give honored where honor is being. Brother Jesse, First
-
Samuel, chapter number two, Verse number twenty nine Wherefore, kiki at my
-
sacrifice and at mine offering, which I have commanded in my habitation, and
-
honor is thy sons, to make yourselves fat with the chiefs of all the
-
offerings of Israel, my people. That is speaking of Eli, the priest,
-
the high priest, the highly anointed man of God, who did not
-
properly discipline his children, specifically under priest or under shepherds, under preachers under
-
him named hop Nai and Finnianos. And God said, you honor them more
-
than you honor me. Those children were disrespect in the house of God,
-
disrespecting the people of God. It was ridiculous. And so let's see how
-
the Holy Goost would lead us here tonight. I want to preach a message
-
at the Holy Ghost titled as soon as Brother Richard Jacob gave me that text
-
earlier skipping out Scoundrels. Skipping out Scoundrels Matthew Champion number two one, reading
-
verses twelve through fourteen, the Bible says, and Jesus went into the Temple
-
of God and cast out all them that sold and bought in the temple,
-
and overthrew the tables of the money changers and the seats of them that sold
-
doves, and said unto them, it is written, my house shall be
-
called the house of prayer, but you have made it a den of thieves.
-
And the blind and the lame came to him in the temple, and
-
he healed them. May we pray, Heavenly Father, we thank you for
-
the opportunity to be in the house of the Lord. I thank you,
-
Lord, for these wonderful people of God that have gathered together tonight, some
-
seventy in number. They tell me. I pray that you would anoint them.
-
Let them hear what the Spirit of God says unto the church tonight through
-
your word. I pray, Lord, that you would anoint this servants that
-
a guard at my mouth, and help me to say the things that you
-
would have me to say, nothing more than less. I pray helpless people
-
to hear and to heed, And may these words go below the shoulders that
-
ob saturate the soul and the spirit. We'll give you the praise the honor
-
of glory. Maybe depart this place joyfully and not sorryfully in Jesus' name,
-
And the church says amen. As you're being seated, Say hey, neighbor,
-
have you ever skipped out on someone. Amen. Our text is found
-
in a New Testament book of the Holy Bible. The title this book bears
-
the name of its author. The Book of Matthew is the first book of
-
the New Testament and the first Gospel of four I have read the Book of
-
Matthew numerous times myself, and sometimes I feel like skipping old the genealogy part.
-
Matthew did a great job tracing the genealogy of Jesus Christ. In Matthew's
-
Gospel we find the record of the birth and the record of the life of
-
Jesus Christ. I appreciate, brother Matthew. I'm looking forward to getting to
-
heaven one day and meeting the likes of these authors of the Word of God,
-
because I know these were instruments in the hands of God. There is
-
no doubt that these men spoke and wrote as the oracles of God. I
-
appreciate their prophetic and preaching ministries. How many of you are very thankful for
-
their written ministries. Oh, I'm thankful for this biblical record of the events
-
that took place in our Savior's life. It has been an encouragement to me
-
to read through the Gospel and to read of the numerous miracles that Jesus performed
-
while he was alive upon this earth. His thirty three and a half years
-
on this earth certainly had a significant impact on all of those that were living
-
during that time, and we know that he had a very positive impact on
-
Matthew. Most of you that are familiar with tax collecting the process of that,
-
you know that if you sign up for that job task and that becomes
-
your responsibility of collecting taxes from your fellow citizens of whatever country that you belonged
-
to, sometimes that will make you very unpopular. And so a very unpopular
-
man collided with a wildly popular man named Jesus Christ. So by appointment,
-
this unpopular Jewish man that was working for of the Roman government meant a wildly
-
popular man named Jesus. There was a lot of people going to see Jesus
-
and following Jesus because of the wonderful things that he did, but not too
-
many people were excited about looking upon Matthew. Not too many people would have
-
been excited about entering that Roman tax collector's office, knocking on the door,
-
sitting at the receipt of custom and turning loose some coinage and some paper bills.
-
How many of you know they didn't have paper bills in that day and
-
hour. But the church clerk here in this building tonight, he has told
-
me before that he can tell who has a problem turning loose of their paper
-
bills. The coinage does not tell the story, but the paper bills does,
-
because he can tell that you've had it clinched in that fist up until
-
the moment she placed it into the offered bag and didn't like God had deprived
-
all five fingers off of that one dollar meal. You've been giver. And
-
I thought about other people who fold their money, and then there's some that
-
want to deposit their money into the offertory bag. Brother Jesse's so crisp and
-
so clean. I'm sure Matthew saw many people hand him money in different manners,
-
Brother stared. I would believe that he would say, I saw people
-
throw it at me. How many have you heard about the man that owed
-
his wife a large sum of money. He had done something that he shouldn't
-
have done. He had got into a relationship and brought forth a child out
-
of wedlock, and he owed a lot of back child support. Well,
-
the judge that presided over that case ruled that he must her back for a
-
certain number of years of funds must have been given to her. And he
-
filled up the back of his pickup truck with pennies and unloaded them in her
-
front yard. And there was nothing at all that the legal system of the
-
justice system could do about that, because he in fact paid the money that
-
was due to his mama's baby, baby Mama. Right. So I want
-
you to know here tonight that I'm sure that Matthew was a rude man.
-
I'm confident that he had dealt with rude people. But there was something about
-
this man that when he collided with the Messiah, he recognized that not only
-
does this man speak differently than everyone else, but he radiates a power.
-
There is an authority about this man that I respected. I appreciate that he
-
abandoned his occupation and he began to go with Jesus as soon as Jesus commissioned
-
him to go. Right then and there, he got out of that high
-
backed chair, walked out of that office. I'm sure as co workers were
-
asking the question, where are you coding? And so it's true the early
-
on in his life, when he took this tax collecting job as a tax
-
collector, that he had skipped out on his Jewish brothers and sisters, and
-
they saw him as a betrayer or as a trader. He had skipped out
-
on him and was working for the Roman government. But now we find this
-
man, Matthew, skipping out on his employer. How many of you have
-
ever missed work? Have you ever been falsely accused of skipping out or ducking
-
or avoiding to go to work when you should have been there. I know
-
of a brother in this church that was recently thoughts accused of that by somebody
-
that worked with him, because that person was jealous of him and the good
-
job that he had been doing for the employer. Well, the truth was
-
told of itchally and their superior said, no, that brother that attends that
-
methyl hole in his church actually called me hours ahead and told me that he
-
would be there. He did not skip out. I know a lot of
-
people years ago used to skip out on school. How many of you would
-
admit with me that you skipped class. I'm telling you there's about a dozen
-
of us that have skipped class in our lifetime. Some of you were embarrassed
-
about that, and some of you are not at all embarrassed. I remember
-
my senior year in high school, I only had one class that I needed
-
to be there for, and me and a young man named Calvin, every
-
morning we would power up that elk Comino that he had. We would walk
-
right past the principal and the assistant principal and the teachers, and we would
-
go out there, get in that elk Comino and literally ride across the highway
-
State Road sixty and sit down at a restaurant and eat breakfast. I'm telling
-
you we did that a lot. We had a good time, We ate
-
a good breakfast, and then we would take the el Camino right back to
-
the parking lot, brazingly, walk past everybody and go to those little classes
-
that were really did not to be participating in. Now, I'm telling you
-
there's a lot of people skipping out of church. There's a lot of people
-
skipping out of things that really do matter. Don't let me hear let grandma
-
right now. You see, this man has skipped out on his people and
-
had betrayed them. But when Matthew was approached by the Messiah Jesus Christ,
-
you know the rest of the story, he ended up putting pim de parchment
-
and given us this first gospel that we're preaching out of tonight. You see,
-
when this man saw a golden and a great opportunity, he embraced it
-
and refused to let it go. He skipped out on a lot of things
-
that he had enjoyed, tired of this encounter, that he might fulfill the
-
will of God. I wonder what was said in the tax collector's office the
-
next day. I wonder what the accusations were. We have been abandoned by
-
Matthew or the Levi. He skipped out on us. How many of you
-
know what the term skip out means is when someone chooses to skip out,
-
they leave a place or a person in a secret and improper way, you
-
know, like a pastor and Calvin leaving the mobarry hostile in a secret and
-
improper way. And sometimes it is for us to avoid doing something that we
-
know we should do again. Sometimes a person skips out or something because they
-
want to avoid doing what they should do. I don't want to get ahead
-
of myself right here. But the inspiration of tonight's message was by the Jacob's
-
words to me. Why did their parents not teach them their children any matter
-
than to feel comfortable disrespecting and dishonoring the man of God. Now I'm titled
-
this message because of the holiness whispered it in my heart as such a skipping
-
out scoundrels. A scoundrel is a dishonorable person. I believe you would agree
-
with me that the parents of their children would have been this honorable, So
-
we'll call them scoundrels or scouty wives. I believe he would agree with me
-
that Eli, the father of Hofdawn Penny Hass, had to have been a
-
scoundrel because he put off things that he knew he needed to do. The
-
Bible said he that know what to do good and do it did not to
-
him in his sin. I seen fathers before skip out here on their sons
-
that were working on a house for their ride. Now, I'm telling you,
-
when my sons had bought a house, I was there by their side.
-
I was not looking for an opportunity to avoid helping my children prepare for
-
their brides. Now, like two are three in this building tonight, I
-
would be willing to work all that road and do whatever it took in order
-
to get the job done. Now, you see, I would be just
-
as tired as anybody else. But dude, in Paul, I'm telling you
-
it is necessary for us to do some of the things that we do not
-
want to do. The truth is, we don't always like her taking the
-
disciplinary role. Now we don't always enjoy her for dissipating in disciplinary action.
-
I know that this is more of a pastoral message tonight, but I pray
-
that it will be a blessing to you in the days of he head.
-
I remember a out till twenty something years ago. Our pastor had declared that
-
it was time to have a workday and prepare the church so that it could
-
be repurposed and remodeled. I noticed and men that did not normally work on
-
Saturday has somehow told their boss that they needed to work the weekends. And
-
those that I taught would have shown up to help us up. They skipped
-
out, and that I noticed. After the workdays were over, I saw
-
their boats then pulled behind it that picked up trucks on Saturday. I realized
-
they were avoiding do and what they should do. But just seeing again it
-
is to avoid doing something that that person should do. Listen, man,
-
you're the one that should run the barbecue grill, not your wife. You're
-
the one that should take care of the yard, not your wife. And
-
the same thing goes for some of the women nowadays. They expect somebody else
-
to do what God has a sign for them to do within their prol Now
-
to my sister, how will you enjoy yard work? And I enjoy sharing
-
her the riding bower with her, and I enjoy sharing the yard worker with
-
her, but I do not enjoy sharing her her household choice with her.
-
So don't take what I'm saying out of context here tonight. But I want
-
you to know. When I was fifteen, sixteen and seventeen years of age,
-
my father looked at me and he said, it's time for you and
-
I and your uncle to build a house. I said, how long will
-
it take? He said, it'll take us as long as it will.
-
Will have to work every holiday, will have to work ever Saturday, have
-
to work at school, will have to work at every evening. Sometimes not
-
always, said very seldom. With my brothers, load up in that truck
-
and go with us to the construction side. After about thirty minutes to an
-
hour, I would hear them down there to Baco the property for playing in
-
the south prom the south branches of the Alipie. I could hear them,
-
I say, let go of the rope of that roach swing. I could
-
hear them bleeply see. I could hear them shout of jubile, shouts of
-
joy. I could just tell they were having a good time while work was
-
being done. They were avoiding. You would Dad, he won't them anew
-
when I could kill, because they probably would not have put all of their
-
mind and hard into it. My dad ay out of just to know long
-
rather than try to baby sit them and try to push them against their wheel,
-
my dad would say, would go against this nature. He would allow
-
them to go home, to skip out. Very few times do I ever
-
remember him hollering down there and saying, you boys, come back and to
-
cop a screw God, or pick up a hammer and help us. Listen.
-
You can shirk up your responsibility if you want to. The United States
-
of America's philitia and our government has a statement. It's like this, so
-
I sent without leaving. It means that a person has went to ain't wall.
-
I know a lot of preachers and pastors and church people that proceed that
-
we're in a conflict and we're not wrestling against lesson blood, and the devil
-
is taking victims and casualties on a daily basis. And by the toddler,
-
those that used to stand behind the sacred death and preach the treat and still
-
there. But there's no longer in the hide What I was saying a little
-
while ago, not that in simp because their heart is not in it.
-
My pastor said, becauser. The heart is not in a We're not going
-
to require them to participate. I don't want it to be said in Hiven
-
that there's a child of God. Anyone that professes to be God's child,
-
that's called a wall. And that's accent for that. Believe God did not
-
give you permission. Yes, you have the choice to leave an abandon the
-
family of God and the Kingdom of God, and to abandon God himself.
-
But God did not ask you to skip out. God did not com missing
-
anybody to ban a certain disappear with a hide out. How many of you
-
know somebody that does that. They worked harder at not working. They're watching
-
everybody else from behind the trees at the back of the property, and it's
-
like they're counting down the hours when everybody will be done working. I remember
-
sometimes some of those that would shirt their needle and shirt their responsibility would show
-
up when it was time to clean up. They were ready to get out
-
of there. They didn't want to be there in the first place. And
-
sometimes when we perceive that they're doing that, we'll go ahead and work there.
-
Oh night, if we have to, we'll go ahead and tell them,
-
don't put up my soul, don't put up my drivel. Yes you're
-
wanting to clean up and put up, but I'm telling you, I'm not
-
voting to steal out on my assignment to listen. So you falling that child
-
into this world and you had a bitch pleasure when you play, and you
-
matter be prepared to pray and to pay. Oh my god, I'm telling
-
somebody left here an God's catch you noting. He's handing it to be a
-
night and he wants me to make a chip there for everybody. Just see
-
that's her playing a game. But this is not play round. That's a
-
bilanty what I'm talking, and that's walk and that's walcome and let's do something
-
for God. We talk about Jesus being a heavy load Sarah and Jesus being
-
a heavy burden bearer. But what about fulfilling the law that is to bear
-
one another's burdens and so fulfill the law of Christ. If this shoe pits
-
tonight, no matter how big I make the mode or how small I make
-
it sitting around, I started a title this skipping out sissies, but I
-
wanted to be politically corrected, and I also wanted to obey the Holy ghost.
-
What about shirk and sissies or shirkings, cattiwags or circ and scoundrels.
-
Somebody said a child of God should not call anybody names. Let me talk
-
to my big brother about that. Right now? What's that garden you call
-
pilots? Some of them foxes? Okay, I'm telling you, Jesus called
-
it like it was. And that's the problem with a lot of ministers and
-
their ministries today that pretend like they don't see anything, just sallan until they
-
get to the place they do not see anything. You can ask them over
-
a period of five years, did you see it? Did you feel it?
-
Did you know something was wrong? And you say yes, but I
-
ain't ready to deal with it yet. Just like that, one preacher that
-
had a man in his church to grab another holiness young man by the throat
-
and pushed him up. It gets the wall and choked that young man that
-
would not fight back, and choked it till he was blue until he was
-
purple. In a prominent church in the state of Tennessee among the holiness people,
-
and that pastor was approached by another pastor, and the pastor that was
-
a busying minister, he said, let's talk to that member of your church
-
that aren't rudely, and let's try to deal with this problem that you've been
-
avoided. No names are called. But as I said, had to shoot
-
that stidy line. Well, but that preacher, he said, I can't
-
do it. I can't do it. My nerves just from hold up.
-
I can't address the situation. I can't verbally chastise a review that remember my
-
church for attempting to choke out another man's member. Whatever our visitors, that
-
man was shirky. He is respectability No or come on now, how did
-
him you feel like card that gave him a permission slipper to leave out of
-
the actual officer of a pastor. I can't got a pastor or church.
-
There are some things that you have to do. The apostle Paul said that
-
you ought to rebuke her. He yes, we're to be long suffering.
-
Yes we're to be merciful. Yes we're gonna be gentle, and we're gonna
-
be kind. But we're also to have a tunision. Now we're sinning,
-
we're supposed to metical hand on. We're supposed to take the woofer by the
-
challenge and destroy that rough that is in sheep bothing through the word of God.
-
I want you to look at our go in text here tonight again Matthew
-
twenty one and twelve, and the Bible says, and Jesus went into the
-
Temple of God and cast out all of them that sold had brought in the
-
temple, and overthrew the tables of the money changers and the seats of them.
-
The sundown Sir, No, the camero Jesus could abduct my son.
-
Many preachers today would do if they have to handle their sir. Jesus could
-
walk her right on by the temple. And if you'll know this, something
-
stood out to me today. It says her it was the temple of God.
-
Now I preaching my text down, Jesus whose assa it was, and
-
Jesus know by how people are the conduct them self and in behavior in the
-
house of God that's so overweight. Anyone, yes, sir, if your
-
house we could say we want handle it. I ain't got the letters to
-
be over there in God's house. Hat's put up and shut. Pastors,
-
if you ain't pastoring property and you aren't preaching property, you're nothing but an
-
eli. And I'm going to prove that scripturely. There's nothing that I preach
-
that cannot be backed up by scripture. In fact, for most of you,
-
you know only last Sunday that I tell a story about a rescue via
-
or via helicopter. Most of the time I go from one example in the
-
Bible to another. It's not that I couldn't pull out the stories that people
-
would love to hear. It's not that I could not tickle the ears or
-
pull on the emotions. Most preachers go to the pool pit with a text.
-
They go to the poopit with a story or an illustration that they got
-
out of a sermon illustration book, and they make people feel good and they
-
close out when it's high. But somebody likes somebody like Sister Neeley, somebody
-
like Sister Howell, somebody like sister Heel, somebody like sister Walker, and
-
some of these other folks. They're gonna recognize that route off and that is
-
a sermon that they took out of a textbook. They're gonna know rite offer.
-
I remember her young converb of Iois, went took with us to a
-
camp meeting and she heard some preacher's preacher. She was not being critical,
-
but she came back to the home church and she said, Pastor, I'm
-
not wanting to hurt your feelings, nor am I wanting to hurt the feelings
-
of the preachers up there. She said, but I'm glad to be whole,
-
and I'm glad to be being a modestor and exhorted to and preached tata.
-
And I'm glad to hear somebody preaching from the heart and preaching from the
-
Bible and not preaching from sermon books. And I think about this every day
-
of my life. As she dug her femails in on one another, and
-
then sheepishly looked at this sister Hall and now she said, I know I've
-
only been seen just for a few months, but I can tell all the
-
difference in the preaching her where they're not a man count retirer r incount from
-
some old line resource who contne this did not not red from any the long
-
line just came from the deeper well in this church that made reference to something.
-
How can young people give to the place where they donot respect the elder
-
people? I'll tell you why left my rocks and cancer checking their respectability.
-
How can your people, the mess of the church, get to the place
-
where they're comfortable they're sitting in the house of Hey. I'll tell you how
-
what aposta is to a place, the preacher, the pread, the prince
-
to ma. Tell me what does that dog. If I were a motivational
-
speaker, I'd listen to somebody else. If I was looking for a positive
-
message that would change my life, I'd read behind somebody else. But when
-
it comes to my soul, and it comes to church, and it comes
-
to my family, and when it comes to eternity, brothers and sisters,
-
ain't got no time for any extracurriculum, material or resources. I want you
-
to look at that golden text again. Brother's just saying how let's demonstrate Brother
-
Jesse is the door to your office and locked, if you will unlock it
-
real quick, Brother Samuel, I want you to slow me walk around the
-
church and then come back around, and then come down the center all and
-
make your way to brother Jesse's door. Now, if you'll get with me
-
the imagery and the visual of this gee, Jesus is the son of God.
-
The temple itself is a type of Christ. The instrumentation inside of the
-
temple are tops of Christ. And Mesiah that Matthew fell in love with and
-
did not skip out on, is traveling with Jesus. The other disciples at
-
times are traveling with Jesus. But one day, Jesus here's some rucus,
-
and Jesus here's some commotion. Now I'm not preaching something that's not in the
-
Bible. If you look, the Bible said, and Jesus went into the
-
temple of God, what was the temple of God is about to become?
-
Not the temple of God. God had left the place before, and in
-
your God had been written over the door. God himself come in, and
-
there's nobody worshiping him. This business as useful. They don't want to hear
-
him reading the scripture. They don't want to hear him tell the story of
-
creation. They don't want to hear him. By God, I feel the
-
holy Ghostyle who went into the temple, I'm telling you, And when he
-
went into the temple, come back out fell the Samuel. When it came
-
in enough, he saw something that disappointed him. He looked and he saw
-
people in there conductive business, sayings that they should not have been doing.
-
I'm telling you, it have been easy to hit the backpast button. It
-
had been easy to not preach that sermon. It had been easy not to
-
show up that day. It had been easy to skip out on that divine
-
appointment. Or y'all do what I'm saying. He could have avoided the confortation.
-
He could have abandoned the contract. He could have abord the picts happen
-
in that situation. And some of you only years have been met by time
-
to reput them and to resist the happen and to tell people that is not
-
about time. I want your way to come, you talent of your sacre.
-
You can walk into the temple left the time. Everybody overturned the table
-
like communing changes been the props here and the seat I turn and do kill
-
myself. Gres the stutt be there. What tell you today? Cras are
-
doing what God can't do. Today? Great and yet stance agent skipping our
-
scoundrels. Look, tell myself. They could say whatever they want to say
-
about the Son of God, but it was decent and it was in order.
-
Such discipline and review done with love. Disciplinary action from an order to
-
a compromising order is in order. I'm a feeling the Holy ghost in this
-
place. Jesus could have bypassed the temple of God, but he just couldn't.
-
And if they tried to set them tables up again, what stood out
-
to me today was huh and seats and seats. The tables are the money
-
changers, and the seats of them the soul doves. Now it's the seat
-
of them, the soul doves that means to somebody in them seats. I'm
-
telling you that changes the scenario altogether, doesn't a sister be are It ain't
-
just empty seats. It's going to be people, a mostly affected and whose
-
little cretens are going to be hurt. Because when Jesus comes in, he
-
has to throw the man out of the soup. So far he can throw
-
over the soup, and I'm telling you, and so can the trail they
-
want, said sheep cold and thoughts to Paul, toldles how they do?
-
What does the house my house? And I was sad the seal of the
-
house eat me up? What they want to preach her? To hide out?
-
They wanted to hide out how the eco boid. They wanted to hide
-
out behind the pitcher, the horses and the patient and n him a hide
-
out, skimp out, skip out, ducky. Now listen, I can
-
understand someone skipping out hold a blind day, but this was no blind date.
-
His son of God walked in there, got their power appointment, and
-
he knew exactly that he was toomid and yes, sir, yes sir,
-
step out character. Jesus was reacting to what he saw. He was reacting
-
to what he saw. And one saying you're only preaching that because he saw
-
me do it. He wal mother, yes sir, he is no you
-
say you des o pray good temper. God God ain't got the preachers now
-
backed up in a point and then skip out and they get to an opportunity
-
to preach something and bypass it. I've thought before, sister, wouldn't Okay,
-
big boy, come on, you've been preaching good he tax some other
-
day and I'll holler out nail it and they'll skirt right around her and that
-
lock. There nothing going on, I'm telling you. By the time Jesus
-
was born, that little baby couldn't grow up faster than liough. I'm sure
-
of One time, baby Mary said, did you hear that that John the
-
Badgers? How the Holy goes? Don't you take that baby? Jesus had
-
the Holy good? Mary said, what's that? Huh? I'm telling you
-
right now, I'm about the age of twelve. It was all he could
-
take, he told Mary when she found him out to a three days sirch
-
of rescue. He said, wish you not that I should be about my
-
father's business. At the age of twelve he was a business preaching. That
-
tells me. All the way up to the age of twelve he'd done preaching.
-
And then for eighteen years he goes to the subject to dead Mom that
-
I'm served dad. Mom got the brother of the preaching, little mister motormouth
-
Passiah over there. You think it's rough living with a preacher, living with
-
a pastor, live with a messiah? God, My God, sweet Lamb
-
of God that knows everything, let us dand he knows every move as Mama's
-
gonna make the butter. Ain't in there. I'm a feeling the preacher in
-
there. The cow's out, swig, Lamb of God. I'm telling you.
-
The Bible said that Jesus he dealt with that situation. Everybody could see
-
what was going on on the inside of God's temple, and somebody was wondering,
-
Who's going to do something about it. Let me ask you a question,
-
what's going on in your temple? Now you got the true body.
-
It's the temple of the Holy girls. Let me ask the preacher missionary,
-
miss, what's going on in your church on This ain't nothing new. This
-
is an old thing being shaking their responsibility. Listen, remember what was doing
-
on there in the last Temple in the days of Eli, while on his
-
watch, his sons hawked out and pene hawser did not really know the Lord.
-
They did not respect God or the man of God. Eli under his
-
sons more than God. Eli honored his sons more than God. And the
-
Bible said, when Eli finally tried to remove them, because his family has
-
become the talk of the town that they just disregarded him, brother Jacob,
-
because they waited too long. When they finally heard that speak of he didn't
-
take them seriously. That's why I'm gonna keep speaking of that. I'm gonna
-
keep preaching while your babies are small. Because I walked him up to take
-
this on preaching man they called Papa. That wasn't in my heart what I
-
thought. Eli, You're supposed to be the hot priest, the holly annoying
-
man of God, and your own sons aren't even taking church serious. It's
-
bad. It's bad when you go to certain meetings, and it's the trying
-
them that even Sister House tempted the trim or figuernails. It's bad. We
-
all said, we all said, we know what's going on. You know
-
what, Sister wo The Bible said that these men hawked down Finney House were
-
fornicating with the women that helped at the temple, and everybody that was coming
-
in going knew what was happening. And they were telling the person that did
-
the offering and took the meat and bolted, they were telling them, give
-
us the best part of that leg, give us the best part of the
-
meat, and they were growing fat on it. They were benefiting themselves on
-
the offerings of the people of God. And Brother Gable, I'm sure the
-
spell of spoke coming from their polluted offerings must have made God recourage and take
-
That's why Jesus acted the way he did so many years later. And I'll
-
get what I'm saying. They had been building up. They had been building
-
up, and since Jesus went back, don't you think it's still building up.
-
Jesus sees the things that are going on. Before his first appearance,
-
he had saw these things go on, and he had found them repulsive.
-
How many of you know that's a real stitcher in the nostrils of God when
-
you live one way on Sunday, one way on Wednesday, and they're different
-
than any other day of the week. What's going on in your temple,
-
what's going on in your mouth, what's going on in your line, what's
-
going on in your church? Let's remember what was going on in the days
-
of Elisha, little children mocking a seat and second King's checking number two verses
-
number twenty three and twenty four. The Bible said, and he went up
-
from fix unto Bethel, and as he was going up by the way.
-
There the little children came forward out of the city and then knocked him and
-
said to him, go up that baldhead. And he turned back, and
-
he looked on your brother, Sam, you would do demonstrate that looking over
-
here at these group of near walking that way. Turned back and he looked
-
at them. It does not stop there, the Bible said. And he
-
cursed them. It does not mean he cussed them out. He cursed the
-
appointed them forcefully. He did not shirk his responsibility. He dealt with a
-
situation and he refuked it. I want you to know. The parents are
-
not now to tell me, but the mid time had a tougher kid hit
-
him up, and he delt with it. I'm tell him you, if
-
you don't deal with the God will be aware that the post poss lets her
-
up, willing the pain. The pair of lives like your own babies.
-
The Bible said them two she bears. Apparently in two female bears was the
-
thought they the ones that killed her babies. Because a bear robbed of his
-
whelps pretty furious, and the anger of the bear will be worse than the
-
anger of the Messiah. The anger of the bear will be more severe than
-
the anger of the parents and the anger of the pastor. The Bible said,
-
to have anger and sin not. We are not to get so mad
-
that we booze control of our tongue. The Tangle taught the youth group today.
-
Death and life are in the power of the tongue. And the Bible
-
said, those two sheep bears tore forty and two children up. You'll tear
-
them up now. The devil won't tear them up later. Friendship, you'll
-
disappeared now, the devil won't tear them up later. You see, Elisa
-
did not skip out, they said. He turned back and looked on them.
-
Sister woot and I believe he was perceiving that it wasn't one or two,
-
because God would have had mercy. What God showed me today and my
-
prayer calls that was it was unanimous all forty two since to heal. This
-
was not just one unruly child that closed everybody else to get in trouble.
-
This was a teenage bob. And for any of us that have been on
-
a mission field, my brother Nathaniel, Sister Catherine, and brother Caleb,
-
we know that the teenage bobs are the worst. And so what you have
-
here is not a solitary victim that caused other people. Will be honest,
-
what you have here is a militant mob taking on a solitary prophet. And
-
I've been telling you all here lately that God is with us, and God
-
was with Elysha. I feel like they intended to harm him, and the
-
Bible said he cursed them in the name of the Lord. This was not
-
him throwing cuss words at them, young people, because Christians and believers in
-
God they do not cuss. And can I say I said this years ago,
-
by God's last name, it's not the same as something that stops the
-
pole on the river. I'm gonna say again, by God's my name,
-
it's not the same as the name of something that stuffs the poe. I'm
-
a love that's not my golf last name. When God save me, he
-
took the cusser out. There ain't no holy Gospel Christian cussing ever. I
-
said it. Wednesday night, I got knocked down forcefully by my best friend
-
for refusing to compromise. He compromised. He knocked me down forcefully, And
-
when I used to would have cussed him out, picked up an angle iron
-
and try to knock his head off. I humbling him sheepishly and meekly said
-
why did you do that? Brother? And he said, you're a change
-
man. What we got to do is stop shirking our responsibility to feel an
-
altar and to commit again, and to start pressing, and to start in
-
humility. And said, God, I'm not the man I need to me,
-
but I mean the pray through. I mean it this sane. I
-
don't be born again. I need the real, genuine experience, the print
-
of the Higher that's talking about. I'm sorry I had to hit cussin for
-
a minute too. Elisa addressed the attitude of these wicked children are teenagers.
-
The parents had skipped out on teaching their children how to respect their parents.
-
Well, my parents didn't teach me how to be a man, or my
-
parents didn't teach me. Well, that's all the more reason why you want
-
to buy Homer's Hindsight Home Depot. Managers, I'm preaching right here and do
-
something because we can't repeat the process of stupidity and neiglace drance is not an
-
excuse in this age. Are Google, Oh, come on, my preachers
-
and us not preaching? Or should we go to the house. I'm telling
-
you you can shirt the responsibility if you want to, just like a lot
-
of pastors and preachers shirt their responsibility. These parents had skill doubt on teaching
-
those children how to respect the parents and other people. I remember a friend
-
of my name, Jeremy Chonton. He was living with uncontrollable anger because his
-
father skiffed out on him and his mother and his five siblings. He was
-
left to raise her a family. For one thing to be said about that
-
thirteen year old boy, he became the man of the household. In my
-
fifteen years of angel look out that daddy. He was working for his family.
-
I can'tn't move here to life. There's no reason. What's all right?
-
Happy for you to skip out. My granddaddy m and Alvin daf from
-
Point of Gordon and North Fort Myers. He told me that he only had
-
an eighth grade education because his daddy, it was an alcoholic and was skiffed
-
out on his mother. My other grandfather, Willard Howell, said that he
-
got an eighth grade education because his daddy was skipped out on his mother.
-
And then men would not come home to their wives for many months, and
-
those men begin to learn how to work, work to survive. I'm telling
-
you I've been coming up popular church, come up now like old Matthew,
-
unpopularly. I'm trying to collect some spiritual tax around here, and I'm trying
-
to get you to buy into them. So the pain of the family,
-
God and invest them some blood swept tears into the family. That God just
-
throw a hit risky for a biscuit. Huh. These weren't innocent little children.
-
These weren't innocent little children that had climbed up in the arms of Jesus.
-
These were unruly children. Oh, by Jesus, I tell them,
-
hole that goes to burn and right down like fire. They changes my heart,
-
the changes my physical strength, the changes my own side. When it
-
gets to burning like this, I'm telling you I must feel under the fire.
-
It ain't no mollified. And I want to tell you something. And
-
when you come to speaking in tongues, if it ain't burning like a fire
-
inside of you and changing you inside and the spirit and given the utterance,
-
all you're doing is speaking as a battle of a fool you don't know proper
-
finds you be better off singing a Christmas carol sing with me like dis charismatic.
-
There's being Christian, but someone I feel the hole it ghost. When
-
brother Samuel feels the holy ghost, when Sister He'll feels the Holy ghost,
-
with Sister Tracy Erwards feels the Holy ghost, that's like old brother Tremia.
-
Somebody said, preacher, how can you preach like that? It ain't very
-
good. But I do know this. When you get his word in your
-
heart, shut up and it becomes as a power, shut up in your
-
bones. You cannot be silent, You cannot me steal, you can't help.
-
But do something about it. Somebody's gotta say something about it. It's
-
gonna do something about it. And if they don't, goodbye. That's what
-
brother Michael Joseph from Roof saying about that world the church. They said,
-
man, I ain't gonna do nothing about it. I gave a man the
-
time to change, and they didn't. So he came here his first service,
-
Brother Harrison, he said, he walked through the door and the hole
-
Lego said, this is home? Is that right, Brother Joseph from up
-
there from the sum boot, that's right, rache n is that right?
-
He ma'am, that's right, this is home one place was home for many
-
years, right, brother LaRue, many many, many many years, through
-
different pastorates. But when they decided to compromise that allow sin in the church,
-
that's what Eli had done. That's what the parents of these unruly children
-
had done. And when Jesus came to town, it was a whole lot
-
worse and singing to come into town. I need to send you to covers.
-
I can tell the parents should have dealt with some things at home,
-
so may not have Moses, good brother, Moses, good pastor Moses.
-
I can hear it. Now, elders, no smile with me, because
-
we're gonna be going at about forty five fifty years, and there's gonna be
-
somebody standing in here say I'm Moses, old brother. How well he told
-
us my dearess. But Moses, in Venicus twenty six and twenty two,
-
he said, the words of the Lord go like this, I will sin
-
wild beast among you, which shall rob you of your children, and destroy
-
your cattle, and make you few in numbers. Moses had already told the
-
children of Israel, and they had passed it down from one generation to another.
-
If you don't keep his statues, if you despise his commandments and his
-
judgment. I want you to know God's warnings always come before his judgments.
-
I feel that in my soul, God's one is always time perform his judgments.
-
In our text we find warn and after warning had come, warning after
-
warning had come. Eli had been told, Jeremiah had told some, Isaiah
-
had told some, Malachi had told some, Obadiah had told some. And
-
then came Jesus. Then came the message. And I'm telling somebody here tonight,
-
Jesus is coming and he will overturn your tables and your seats. Praise
-
the Lord. You know what Jesus said, I perceive them to be thieves,
-
and that's what he said. He said, all that ever came before
-
me are thieves and robberts. Brother Jesse, would you come to the piano.
-
And I've made three points here at the end that I wanted to cover,
-
if I can remember them as a walk around, Some would have thought
-
that the commerce was thank you too. Some would have thought that it was
-
cute. Some would have thought it was commerce, and some would have thought
-
it was just business. It just makes more sense to be able to buy
-
the doves here and to exchange the money here. But Jesus he saw beyond
-
the service. And here's what he said. It's not cute, and it's
-
not funny, and it's not convenient. It's sin. And you have made
-
my house, my father's house, which is supposed to be the house of
-
prayer, you have converted it into a den of thugs. He's not going
-
around giving hugs to thugs. You have made my house, it was supposed
-
to be a house of prayer, a den of thieves. And I want
-
y'all to know, Jesus is not going to be going around Heaven given hugs
-
to thugs. Even I'm sure after the confrontation and the conflict, he was
-
exhausted. Just the how is the only one that's really an eye witness to
-
the toll that preaching takes on you. But my lungs are very strong and
-
my body is very strong. But most of the time, around midnight on
-
Sunday night Monday morning, I crash and I feel the fruits of the labor.
-
If you will, the fruit is definitely on your true snap, crackle,
-
pop, really able. The soreness sets in the reality is you preached
-
her preacher. I hope to listen. I inspired you to preach. And
-
I want to point something out as we stand tonight. So when Jesus got
-
done just flaying strong emotion, let's just call it what it is, anger
-
because of the way they retreat the House of God, because of the attitudes
-
of his spirits there. Sister the Bible said after that, I've never seen
-
this. I've heard preachers preacher's text. I've never heard this brought out.
-
Now. I'm not looking for something new to bring to you, but i
-
will tell you this stood out to me. I noticed in that fourteenth verse.
-
Listen to this, and after this, the blind and the lane came
-
to him in the temple and he healed them. Now I wept and I
-
cried like a baby in my office as I realized he had to first clean
-
the house before there would be a healing. And mister faith preacher, a
-
prosperity preacher, let me tell you something, friend and brother in Christ and
-
fellow laborer, faith faith, faith, faith, faith, faith faith,
-
this. But before the healing, there has to be as it according to
-
scripture, Jesus came in and had to clean house. He had to deal
-
with the issue. It's like Mama when she comes home from running an air
-
and then she goes to pumpus because she forgot the birthday cake and the birthday
-
campbells, and the kids had turned the house upside down. Well, whenever
-
Mama comes in the door, they want the cake. But I've seen Sister
-
Howard before say no, we're going to clean up this mess before we get
-
the cake. But what's sad is in the midst of this circus selling does
-
an exchange of money outside. This will break your heart, Brother Tyler,
-
brother Philip, but don't go to that glass door. And I need one
-
of you to be blind, and I need one of you to be lame.
-
I need a lame one to leave the bride women. So Jesus gets
-
done. The preaching's over. He got fiery, he got loud, he
-
got angry, he got zealous, passionate, and he sweated. He's exhausted
-
people's upset. In fact, if you'll study this from what I saw,
-
says to how he looked for respit and retreat. He looked for a solitary
-
place after this expense, this experience. But before he could leave the temple,
-
when the dust had settled, Brother Nathaniel, when the dust had settled,
-
after the rebuke and after the correction, now we could have church.
-
The church was too busy, they were too foolish. The clown showed making
-
money that they were overlooking, and so they broke the lane and the blind
-
inside of the temple. Aren't y'all thankful for every time God knows the preacher,
-
Let's cast sin out, say that the lame or the blind can be
-
prayed over and be killed. I don't want to play church. I want
-
to have church. I don't want to preach fad. I want to demonstrate
-
faith. This young man was cured of a very rare aggressive form of cancer,
-
cured. His hair began to grow back during aggressive treatment. Because one
-
night, the true Holy goes again, not the one that makes you go
-
follow other life, the true genuine fire, the Holy goes fined in here
-
and he was cured of cancer. And he's a daddy tonight. I who
-
was suffering in my back for four solid weeks. I finally told sister Hell
-
last week, I said, listen, if I don't wake up and I'm
-
unconscious, silk's doing on going old. I want you to know where that
-
here he is, so you'll know how to number tree. But brother e
-
j. One night when I was annoyed to the same God another night when
-
I was adoring to took that growth off my idea. In a moment while
-
I was preaching, the growth was there, it was gone. I told
-
Sister how I said, I feel that God's gonna help me, Brother Jacob,
-
And he did. When I was preaching last Sunday night, remembering to
-
rescue, he was mindful of me. Now I love what I feel right
-
now. Yeah, now we can pray for the land. Now, we
-
can pray for the blind if we could, could we all just find a
-
place to pray right now and say, Lord, I definitely feel your presence,
-
and I want you to know that I'm serious about my relationship with you,
-
and I'm not gonna shirk my responsibility, and I'm not afraid of the
-
altar Eli, the high priest at that time. Then Eli skipped out of
-
Disciplemary action. Let's clean some house first and then watch Faith take winds in
-
flight, skipping out skelters to so many people that go skipping out all things
-
that is first important. Jesus, there's he was in this house tonight.
-
There's somebody. Let's start with kins and let's start with kins and Jesus kinds,
-
Jesus friends, the field, terry, the altar, to be here
-
the day of Jesus, sirrintle lord back. There's a work I must and
-
father, may you find me painful, truicet ony day and ah, sir,
-
no other mess. And my mom, sir, it's the mom can
-
bay, it's not my only he's bad reform. Or there's a wo paribus
-
and water. May you find me faithful chars stem only take me and its
-
is as the Master and the sun a song words in the bad, as
-
the drinks with bad. Three
