  1. Crickets. I love to hear crickets break. How many of

  2. you love a braggart? Does anybody know what a braggart is?

  3. Someone that brags.

  4. On themself incessantly all of the time. Every time you're

  5. around them, they're bragging on themselves. I don't want to

  6. preach a sermon that holding goes child boasting of what

  7. he has done, boasting of what he has done. May

  8. I direct your attention to Romans chapter number three, Verse

  9. number twenty seven. Brother Nathaniel Luke, chapter number ten, Verses

  10. number seventeen through twenty, and Brother Jesse Judges chapter number

  11. seven and verse number two, And Brother Caleb wrotecap first Corinthians,

  12. chapter number one and verse number thirty one.

  13. Brother Nathaniel again Luke, Chapter.

  14. Number ten, Verses number seventeen through twenty, Brother Jesse Judges,

  15. Chapter number seven, verse number two, and Brother Caleb one

  16. Corinthians one, Verse number thirty one. Brother Nathaniel, would you

  17. read those verses of scripture tonight? And the seventy returned

  18. again with joy, saying, Lord, even the devils are subject

  19. unto us through thy name. And he said, unto them,

  20. I beheld Satan's light and and fall from heaven. Behold,

  21. I give under you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and.

  22. Over all the power of the enemy. And nothing shall

  23. by any means hurt you. Notwithstanding in this rejoice not

  24. that the spirits are subject unto you, but rather rejoiced because.

  25. Your name is written in heaven a man. Seventy people

  26. came back boasting. Seventy people came back boasting about things

  27. that they were doing. But it was not of themselves,

  28. It was of God. I'm gonna follow a mental outline tonight.

  29. The first point of that outline will be don't boast

  30. in man.

  31. The second point will be to boast in God. So

  32. you hold on to that as we move forward.

  33. Brother Jesse Judges chapter number seven and verse number two.

  34. Lord said, I'm the Gideon.

  35. The people that are with thee are too many for

  36. me to give the immedi and knots into their hands.

  37. Lett Israel vault themselves that gives me, saying mine own

  38. hand has saved me. Did y'all hear that preve the

  39. latter part of that verse again, Brother Jesse, lets Israel

  40. vault themselves against me, saying mine own hand had saved me.

  41. God was concerned that Gideon and the troops would glory

  42. in their military prowess and might, and so God downsized

  43. the size of the army to make sure he got

  44. the glory. He deserves the glory. I feel like giving

  45. him praise and glory tonight. He's deserving of every bit

  46. of it. Brother Caleb first corrected into chapter number one

  47. and worse number thirty one that according as it has written,

  48. he that gloriouth let him glory in the Lord. All right,

  49. let's stand for the reading of our golden texts Romans

  50. chapter number three and.

  51. Verse number twenty seven.

  52. May we do as brother Caleb just read of the

  53. scriptures to us tonight, May we glory in all things

  54. in our precious Lord, Romans three and twenty seven. It says,

  55. where is boasting?

  56. Then? Of what have we to boast?

  57. On my end?

  58. Of what have we to boast?

  59. Where is boasting? Then it is excluded by what law

  60. of works? Nay, but by the law of faith. May

  61. we pray Heavenly Father, we love him, We praise thank you.

  62. We thank you for the opportunity to come to your house.

  63. I thank you for these wonderful people. As far as

  64. I know, they're wonderful God. Their heart condemns them Your

  65. greater than their heart.

  66. And to bless them and help them.

  67. I pray, and knowing this, thy servant said a God

  68. at my mouth, and help me to do those things

  69. that you would have me do, to say the things

  70. that you would have me to say, Lord, And know

  71. what the ears of this thy people, that they might

  72. hear what it is the spirit that God says though

  73. to the church. Tone not of my words, but if

  74. your words.

  75. I pray God, that the sayings will go below the shoulders.

  76. Let them get in that heart, saturate the soul and

  77. the spirit. I pray, Lord, it's not by our mind

  78. or by our power, but by your spirit.

  79. We need the Holy Ghost in this hour. I pray

  80. that we.

  81. Would depart this place joyfully and not sorrowfully. And Jesus'

  82. name in the church says, Amen, look at your neighbors.

  83. You're being seated, and say, a neighbor, what do you

  84. have to brag about? Put one hand on that hippo say,

  85. I'll let you know. I can brag on my Jesus.

  86. That's right. How many of them.

  87. Fill I bragging on Jesus here tonight praise the Lord

  88. made you boast in the Lord.

  89. Our text is found in a New Testament book of

  90. the Holy Bible. The Book of Romans, is an epistle

  91. of the beloved Apostle Paul.

  92. At the time of this writing, Paul desired to visit

  93. the saints in Rome. And for whatever reason, I'm sure

  94. the scripture offers a reason, For whatever reason, he had

  95. not got there yet, And even though he had not

  96. got there yet, his body had not yet walked through

  97. the streets and the corridors of this city of Rome,

  98. for whatever reason was in his heart to be there,

  99. even though he had not stepped a foot on the

  100. soul of that country. How many tonight are desirous to

  101. step into that heavenless city, New Jerusalem, you know, the

  102. brand new city of Peace. This epistle is addressed to

  103. all that be enrolled, be loved of God, called to

  104. be saints. Is how the Apostle addressed them all in Rome,

  105. called to be saints. If you turn to the sixteenth

  106. chapter of this book, you will find the names of

  107. some of these saints.

  108. Some of these names are easy to pronounce, while other

  109. names are almost impossible to pronounce correctly. Some names are

  110. recognizable to the Bible student and the Bible reader, while

  111. others are.

  112. Mysterious to us. Who are these people?

  113. They must have been significant players within the early Church.

  114. For them to have been named by the Great.

  115. Apostle Paul, who had not yet met all of these individuals.

  116. They must have been.

  117. Significant people in the Church at Rome, even though their

  118. life is a mystery to us. The Holy ghosts, for

  119. some reason put special emphasis.

  120. On their name. You remember a little while ago that

  121. one of our brothers read.

  122. A context that talked about us rejoicing that our name

  123. is written in heaven.

  124. There's about seventy people.

  125. Here tonight, and I don't know that anybody can say that.

  126. Your name, as in the name that represents.

  127. You, the identifier name you share the name of some

  128. biblical character, but.

  129. Your name, which is their name, and because it's their name.

  130. It's in the Bible.

  131. Yesterday's sister Howell, she approached me and she looked at

  132. me and with loving eyes, she said, I've been wanting

  133. to tell you something for about thirty years.

  134. She said, you have the coolest name.

  135. I said, I thought that ever since I was a child,

  136. the name Jeremy. It's just a cool name. I went

  137. to Pigeonthorges about ten years ago, and there was this uh,

  138. what do you call those lumber jack And when they

  139. announced his name, they said Jeremy. And when they said that,

  140. I thought, that's the coolest name. And then I realized,

  141. wait a minute, that's my name. And I remember when

  142. I was a young boy in the Church of God.

  143. Sometimes we would walk outside and there was this boy

  144. that was a big rebellious that did.

  145. Not come to church very often.

  146. But they would say, hey, Jeremy as he swung the

  147. numb chucks around his limbs, around his legs, and around

  148. his arms and around his head, and I thought, that

  149. is the clost name.

  150. Wait a minute, that's my name.

  151. And so we're saying that the prophet Jeremiah are also

  152. known as the prophet Jeremy, had a cool name. And

  153. it's good to know that my name not because of

  154. who I am, not because of my reputation in the

  155. Horness movement, not because of my reputation as.

  156. A believer in the year twenty twenty.

  157. Four, not because of my reputation as a spouse, has a.

  158. Father, has a grandfather.

  159. But my name is found in the book and it's

  160. wonderful to be able to say that our name may

  161. not be written in the KJT the King James translation,

  162. but that our names are written in.

  163. Heaven somewhere, someplace.

  164. I believe in a book somewhere, that the divine recorder

  165. has recorded our name there as blood Bob Christians. And

  166. one of our brothers read that context, and the text said,

  167. you shouldn't reach us. He said, first, greatly, because your

  168. name is written in heaven. And but let me prestat

  169. you to count the names in that sixteenth chapter of

  170. this book, and you'll probably find between twenty five or thirty.

  171. I did not have the time to count all of

  172. the names of people that were mentioned by the Apostle Paul.

  173. Now he had not yet been there, but he named

  174. some of these people that were there. Among those recognizable

  175. names are the names of Priscilla and Aquila.

  176. They weren't married.

  177. Most of you will remain with them as fellow companions

  178. in ministry travel partners with the Apostle Paul. They were

  179. solved mates. They were married and bonded together through Jesus,

  180. and they were all sub binded to God's men. These

  181. soul mats had developed a friendship.

  182. With the Great Apostle Paul.

  183. And according to other scriptures and set at times they

  184. worked together.

  185. Meaning this married couple worked.

  186. With the Apostle Paul as tip makers in order to

  187. supplement their income because of the offerings in ministry they

  188. would not suppossor. And then we find other times when

  189. they were making converts, other times they were ministry with.

  190. The Apostle Paul. They had a.

  191. Togetherness with the Great Apostle. In that chapter we read

  192. about saints who may administry evidently in obscurity against some

  193. of these names are almost impossible for the country boy

  194. and the country girl to pronounce. There's names of men

  195. and there's names of women. You'll notice that the women

  196. were not ignored. And I hear crickets among the free

  197. Holiness movement and the Independent Holiness movement, these women were

  198. not ignored. In fact, if we'll be honest, we'll notice

  199. the most of the time when the names Priscilla and

  200. Aquila were mitching, Priscilla's name was mintioned first.

  201. This is clearly indiculatet that she.

  202. Evidently had a greater measure of the spirit of God

  203. in her life.

  204. I'm sure she did not usurp authority in that household.

  205. But this was a woman who apostle pop fed. It

  206. important to mention her name of first.

  207. Now you to know here tonight, Pa, wherever your name

  208. is falling in the lineup has everything to do with

  209. how quickly you signed up and how soon you sewed.

  210. After thirty five years ago, let walked the steric, took

  211. the name.

  212. Of Starring behind the name of Wada.

  213. They are celebrated thirty five years of marriage.

  214. Thirty years ago, in this not charity.

  215. Howell took the last name Howell and placed it behind charity.

  216. She replaced the name Bassard with the name Howwell.

  217. Thirty something years ago. Listen the natural in the spiritual.

  218. Thirty five years ago, Iris Lynn.

  219. Room went to.

  220. Churchill lade her Burmans on the altar and walked out

  221. with the last name Christ, Shaman the pride of Christ.

  222. It does not shop there. It gets even better. Hey,

  223. thirty years.

  224. Ago, your pastor walked into a.

  225. Revival service and wriggled into the back to you and

  226. it's lifeless forever change and Jeremy Howell to call the

  227. last name Christ. Now I'm asking somebody to know and question,

  228. is your name or written it? Pity is you ought

  229. to rejoice he into that. I want to correct and

  230. chestise her a few people tonight through love.

  231. I know that our names are written in heaven. I

  232. know that we became new.

  233. Creatures in Christ Jesus, and a radical transformation took place

  234. in our life.

  235. We had theary live to do with that.

  236. I cannot so who had nothing to do with it?

  237. But Trump parter in that transformation? This minister all he

  238. needed was a will in mind to let Jesus take

  239. control of.

  240. Your life and for you to take a new name

  241. that by the.

  242. Said that every believer receives a new name in heaven.

  243. That name that is written.

  244. It's not cheering me, Howell, It's not our lynn cheerity

  245. hell Lynn Howell and trusting. The tin wrote tact I

  246. don't know what they have named me over under. I

  247. know Jesus say was training giveing people nicknames.

  248. And whatever the name is, Kidne, whatever new neighbor he

  249. is kill it is enough.

  250. I thought it.

  251. Somebody tonight who can have her her name change, and

  252. when it takes place, you a glory upon God, just

  253. as Apostle Paul did when his name was changed.

  254. Her from Saul.

  255. Don't call me sala anymore the references to my former life.

  256. They call me Paul, and I want somebody to know.

  257. Here the night they're up to me a new name

  258. written down in glory, and it should be Roll. What's

  259. keeping you from signing up? What's keeping you from saying?

  260. This time next month, one month ago, in August of

  261. twenty twenty four, I became part of the bride of Christ.

  262. What is it that is keeping you from becoming part

  263. of the family of God?

  264. Why which you suffer at misery? Will you serve God

  265. at a guilty distance? Why would you choose to go

  266. to hell? And why would you choose misery over the

  267. mercy of the Master?

  268. You see, these people would minister together.

  269. There was a togetheredness, and there was a like mindedness,

  270. and they were willing to die for their muster, and

  271. they were.

  272. Willing to die for one another.

  273. It appears to me that even though Paul had met

  274. Oquila and Priscilla, and he could testify of their good

  275. folks and their good deeds. He could speak their testimony

  276. better than anybody.

  277. And there's other women of significance and.

  278. Other men of prominence in that same chector who brother Nathaniel.

  279. Apparently their reputation had been their forerunner.

  280. I'm telling somebody in this building tonight.

  281. Your reputation. It's very important.

  282. It's very important what.

  283. The Cinnerman is saying when he had suns her ashens

  284. on the tribe. It's very important what your lost family

  285. thinks about it. You whatever you are to pay the reunion.

  286. If your standard changes for the imput they know you're

  287. a hypocritic, and they know you're not touch.

  288. I'm telling somebody.

  289. Here, right here in this building, your name is important.

  290. And yes, your name it's written down, and glory that's

  291. somebody answer in this building. I don't believe that their

  292. name is written there, because the ghost thinks that should

  293. not boast about. And some even gird a ghost in

  294. their liberty to sin. Some even bosta in their liberty

  295. to their direct to touch.

  296. You need to to the word of the In one

  297. particular instance, the apostle Paul received some airmail from a

  298. little birdie that brought it to him.

  299. Well, he was pitting some words to him the parchment

  300. and penning some words.

  301. Brother Jeremiah Apostle.

  302. Paul noted that word has come from one of the

  303. churches to me. And I've just interviewed somebody at my

  304. desk and they say, some of the things that's going on.

  305. In the church is not company.

  306. It's unacceptable, it's not proper for Christians to be doing.

  307. And Apostle Paul said, you're glorying in this situation is

  308. not good. You boasted about this man being in his

  309. sin and you being merciful as ministers, and.

  310. You accepting this, and you acting like you're working with.

  311. Him for six months to twelve months, and you being

  312. permissible in this.

  313. You remember another place in.

  314. Scripture except for us not to be partakers of another

  315. man's sin.

  316. I am poor working for people, working with people.

  317. Also that I know that after twelve months, they have

  318. decided whether or not there be a Christian Yes, I

  319. speaking of intelligent adults.

  320. I know that you are enough. They learn and.

  321. In time they decide whether or not they're gonna serve God.

  322. But you bring somebody off that street and let them

  323. hear a preacher prea.

  324. Three times aneka, and let them read their Bible seven

  325. days a week, multiple times a day.

  326. Let him pray lock Dan you'll did three times a day.

  327. Let him praying for their food.

  328. Conviction with karma unless than six months time they will

  329. be karma a new creature. Yes, Tom will work within

  330. know that thing.

  331. I don't learn.

  332. Everything over night, but you can tell that they're calling

  333. in the right direction. Man, I'm telling somebody man in

  334. this fielding tonight, that there was a church.

  335. That was probbing.

  336. Yourself and allow an open sina to go along there

  337. in the congregation in a post A pointed girl that

  338. you allow would do that. He said, bishopal you want

  339. a name that they hold man church discipline.

  340. Man, you came in accent what.

  341. Litania talked about this sunny that's communication.

  342. Man.

  343. The man was dismissed because Paul said, hey, you're going

  344. you're boasting that.

  345. In this cel.

  346. It's not to it that you got nothing about about man.

  347. That's what I wanted to title that this message tonight.

  348. He got nothing about about. But the holy girl said,

  349. man posted in what he has done, Man into tonight basting.

  350. Of what he has done? Why do you stand.

  351. There countless tidle, say, riding under miss Obenius.

  352. Then how you're getting died? Brother christ on time left?

  353. You just see it.

  354. Oh, that's nothing up post about, that's nothing about direct

  355. us on bet us to todd As, reproach me, reproach me.

  356. I feel the holy ghosts pas.

  357. Why it was spilled countless hours trying to justify Seas.

  358. Why the professor Christians?

  359. They're not possessors, they're professors.

  360. So these people in.

  361. That sixteenth chapter, twenty five to thirty people, brother before

  362. I didn't have time to pinpoint. It counted some time

  363. and let me murder. There's a lot of names written

  364. in that chapter. And you notice an Apostle Paul for

  365. those that don't like name calling in church, Apostle Paul

  366. had no problem whatsoever calling names. I know your performer

  367. pastor that had the backbone of a rentworm, And I

  368. don't have anybody in.

  369. Mind right now. That's just something I felt like saying.

  370. They have taught you that it's not politically correct or

  371. appropriate to call names now, Apostle Paul said, Alexander, unless

  372. you get confused with what I'm saying and what I'm

  373. putting in writing, he said, yeah, you know him.

  374. The copper smith.

  375. Well, at that point everybody knows who's handling the copper

  376. and who is smithing the copper, and I want you

  377. to know he know who is handling.

  378. He the word of talk de sepre left. We named

  379. him by name.

  380. We know things that practice aint the works of their

  381. own hands. Lest I shut on the bear, dona try.

  382. It's not at all to cry about it. Why can'ts

  383. he boast?

  384. Oh, my goodness, I.

  385. Will I have limerity to smoke a joint every now

  386. and then? Know you know, know ye not?

  387. That your body is the temple of the holy ghosts?

  388. Will I have liberty? The FDA kate know you don't?

  389. You need to look at the sixth chapter of the

  390. Book of First Corinthians. Apostle Paul, the head of the

  391. New Testament Church of his day.

  392. He's telling the bishop put it out.

  393. The bishops of today would say to Aaron words of

  394. Moses would not have said. They would say, put them

  395. golden calves in a display case in the vestibule, in

  396. a remind us of our past, in a remind us

  397. of our stumbling. It a remind us of our faults.

  398. It all remind us of our failures. It'll postle, Ah,

  399. it's not something to boast amountain. This should be nobody

  400. building a memorial for failure. I've heard people before saying

  401. I had more passive and more power when.

  402. I was taxing with a dample than I do now.

  403. There ain't something something wrong. There's something not right up about.

  404. Pata grew up. I have more passable now see, and

  405. more power now that he chains.

  406. For They say, look at this calf I built. Look

  407. at this calf then air it allowed and permitted. You'll

  408. see that the apostle, Paul for bade boasting. It was

  409. not going to be tolerated. It was not going to

  410. be accepted. It's totally unacceptable behavior.

  411. Brother nathanuel them to boast in themself. But there is

  412. a good boasting.

  413. Also, there's a bad boasting, and there is a good boasting.

  414. Paul made it clear that these believers should not boast

  415. about themselves. What about the preacher that goes over there,

  416. It stands really closer to some visiting preacher, or stands

  417. close to some visitor, her new member, just.

  418. Leaning her on a path on the back, leaning.

  419. On approval, applause and affirmation. They feel so good when

  420. somebody says that with great preaching, they just.

  421. Want to hear it.

  422. They feel better when they hear her somebody say something

  423. about them. I will say that the Bible did say

  424. it's better for somebody else to say it that for

  425. you to say it yourself. One time Paul asked her

  426. to be excused. He said, I need a boaster a

  427. little bit. I was a parsne now concerning the load

  428. of her, I was famelesser.

  429. He felt bad about his own horn. He felt bad.

  430. About talking about the implacability off his life within the

  431. religion head or.

  432. To their listen and life.

  433. You do not feel bad about talking about today left

  434. and about the disons.

  435. How do you say?

  436. That's an opsone?

  437. He let go see him.

  438. I'd be too ashamed to boast that I had a

  439. social drinker. I'd be too a sham to us touch.

  440. I'm trying to church kids up the smoke her trying

  441. to man, Are you Tracy?

  442. I said?

  443. Are you crazy? Again? Plead to yourself and the devil

  444. in church?

  445. Are you man?

  446. Are you insane? Apostle? Paul said, self promotion.

  447. Is forbidden because that its root is pride, arrogance.

  448. Nobody likes a bragrant.

  449. Again, our mental outline point number one, don't boast in man,

  450. secondly to boast in God. And so Paul made it

  451. clear that these believers should not boast about themselves. Look

  452. at your neighbor and say, hey, neighbor, don't boast on yourself,

  453. hey man. In Judges, chapter number seven and verse number

  454. two one of our context, our dear brother read that

  455. to us tonight.

  456. In the seventh chapter of.

  457. Judges, we see that God selected chosen men. Gideon needs

  458. to assembol an army, and he gets a lot of volunteers.

  459. He gets a lot of people that would be willing

  460. to walk around with old medals around their nets. I've

  461. heard that the United States has won more medals than

  462. any other country.

  463. That's a good thing, is it not.

  464. They say that the Olympic Games have always historically been

  465. indicative of the power of one street as a nation,

  466. meaning that apparently our military and our economics and our

  467. society would be stronger than those that have been posted

  468. up against us. I'm glad that we brought home more

  469. ton medals and overall more medals than the neighboring country.

  470. I think the country next to us was China.

  471. And there was some thirty or forty medals shorter, and

  472. the United States have brought nearly one hundred medals home

  473. to the shore.

  474. So do you know there's a lot of boasting going over.

  475. There's a lot of widen the glone and in the

  476. sea over the ground chips are going on.

  477. But how many reports here have you seen her to.

  478. Read at When somebody said he I learned the Bible

  479. sin that beauty is vain. The Bible syndic get much

  480. glory to the street of a man's lets, it also

  481. said her, they body exercises properly is little.

  482. Oh no, they're doing the opposite. They're boasting and what

  483. they need.

  484. They put their medals to and they're pictures and pages

  485. of social media. They're self promoted. Theoking contracts her. They're

  486. getting out the cosmics. I'm telling you, they're boasting her about.

  487. What they've done. The church should be different than that.

  488. When we come to churchill in are head to down

  489. that we ought to PreTect him heads.

  490. Upper and saying her.

  491. After boost in my tongue, I'm telling you that, yes,

  492. there's a lot to an Olympic crater. After leads her. Oh,

  493. the United States set they are more than conquerors. But

  494. Gideon God told him, Doc told Edion her we're got

  495. a down sousand and we're gonna damn there because everybody

  496. knows that when a constant Israel, god Head and Hand

  497. were equal persons, her Israel's gonna win.

  498. I want you to know her. Sometimes God, jitza, your

  499. let's not proving Yell. They get sit down to show

  500. you who ain't in up.

  501. Hold here, hold your hen't killing somebody were militant.

  502. Don't got about a long way, y'all pray for him.

  503. He's been about three weeks as a preach. I need

  504. to ward.

  505. I'll feel they are going to the spirits with him

  506. and put a little bit weak. It don't seem like

  507. I'm struggling, but I need them.

  508. Will I need to win?

  509. A ask God every time I work out of that service,

  510. breathe on the ho Negotia. I said, ain't they were

  511. facing thirty two thousand many night soldiers something like that.

  512. There's just thousands of people that they're facing. And God

  513. begins to thremble the size of the army down. And

  514. I don't have time to preach on how he did it,

  515. but he did it. And I believe the military size

  516. of that group got The size of that military group

  517. got down to was it three hundred men? Three hundred

  518. against tens of thousands of people. You know why God

  519. downsize that Israel army to a number of three hundred

  520. force to troops. I'm telling the three hundred troops and

  521. get in to acknowledge him. They wanted God's attention and

  522. God wanted their attention. I'm trying to tell somebody here tonight.

  523. Sometimes God will cause you to be handicapped or crippled

  524. because you have not given him the praise that he deserved.

  525. You're crippled. Now you're disabled.

  526. Now what are you gonna wait till you get handy

  527. tip every there? Or you're gonna link till you get

  528. don't cripple? Sometimes caught down size and up and down

  529. trains us to get us to recognize our victory comes.

  530. Thank God.

  531. I'll tell us somebody in this dude, you're letting get

  532. high up the praiser if you don't.

  533. Get lowered up to praises, I'll tell somebody you come

  534. in in this church and you tun to us.

  535. We speak with the tongues of angels, and that they

  536. approve it. The approvation in the pos and some people.

  537. But the next service you're don and the death couldn't

  538. be a don't touching down. You know you wants you

  539. to praise it when you've been downsized. We want to

  540. be upsizing, brother sadel If you're listening to this, you

  541. may be flat on your back, but you throw them

  542. hands up and you change the world. And they may

  543. think we're outwitted, out manned, and out uh, but we

  544. ain't help God.

  545. Don't tell you that I.

  546. Love what I feel in my soul right here tonight,

  547. God was shrinking the size of the army.

  548. What if God starts shrinking the size of your praise.

  549. I used to can praise him with two orange and

  550. two hands, but elim only got one arm in one hand.

  551. What if God allows you to lose outside one eye?

  552. What if God allows you to lose hearing in one ear?

  553. I can hardly hear it in my right here anymore.

  554. Some of you know that, some of you don't. I'm

  555. telling somebody right here in this building here the natural

  556. handicap this no excuse.

  557. Not so whippo, you said, turning that excuse into an example. Now,

  558. I don't pizza an excuse or an example.

  559. I'm telling us. Somebody tell you. I'm tell us saying, well, now,

  560. tell it's not the willer tied. The I may take

  561. hand in that.

  562. That's exactly right, exactly right. I said that in his

  563. book Come he.

  564. Set us not that power, but not my stare say it.

  565. The Lord Gods always here's the little things, I said,

  566. Todd has all like to be up here. The letter.

  567. Jeremiah the prophet in his day he was preaching and

  568. telling people, stop boasting and what you've become in God.

  569. Stop boasting and what you possess.

  570. The Bible said, a man's life consisted not in the

  571. abundance of things that he possess. Stop acting preacher like

  572. you got what you got because you deserved it. It

  573. is the gift of God. If my brother preaches good, great.

  574. If my son preaches good, great, If all of my

  575. son's preach good, great. If whatever preaches good, what's a

  576. both and the others preach good three times a month.

  577. That's great.

  578. Just get anerten a hold kind and forget about being little.

  579. Ask the little man with a lunch spots. Can God

  580. do something else with a little? I said, God, talk some.

  581. He said, keep solvent. When you were little, I could

  582. do something great.

  583. But when you said that, busting from your sapa.

  584. And sat promoting.

  585. I had a problem with it.

  586. The bottle said, before honor is humility.

  587. Humble people are honorable people, and before they become honorable people,

  588. they will be humble people. I feel like I could

  589. preach two hourish to it. I'm telling somebody in this building,

  590. it is not of your mc Jeremiah had told him

  591. the same thing that the Apostle Paul told the believers

  592. in the New Testament Church. They had all said the

  593. same thing. You've gotten to stop boasting on yourself. You've

  594. got to stop tooting that own what persecution was coming.

  595. Apostle Paul desired to go to Rome, and he wouldn't

  596. go to Rome. But when he pinned the words of

  597. this epistle and he sent out, Nero had been empowered

  598. to loan. And if I remember correctly, it was several

  599. years after the recipients of this epistle had read it

  600. and put the doctrine of this epistle in the practice

  601. and in the plane, before Nero started persecuting the church,

  602. Apostle Paul gave them this Book of Romans, the Epistle

  603. to Romans, because he knew what was coming.

  604. We talked this morning about structure in the church. That

  605. a road cap told me out to church.

  606. He texted me, said, Pastor, as you were instructing us,

  607. I realized that the words structure is in instruction. And

  608. he said, your instructions structure in the church. And I

  609. put a lot of emphasis on structure. And that's what

  610. we appreciate about the writings of the Apostle Paul that

  611. gave structure has turned doctor to the infratucture incorrect. In

  612. one place, Tad Paul told that the Church of correct

  613. you should not be busting her. And here he is

  614. telling the believer's involvement, you should not be busting that

  615. he knows he is.

  616. Just in the distributure, there is a Nero's chop loot

  617. coming to serpents.

  618. Just in the immediate future, there is a solar coming

  619. to view. There's about to be persecution in the church.

  620. They're about to cut hands off. In fact, Apostle Paul,

  621. those let nobody else knows.

  622. I'm going to Rome to die.

  623. Now.

  624. You may be living to treat her in the life

  625. right now in Rome, but I know toosday is coming now.

  626. I said, I none to selling my god Nero, that's.

  627. Just on the horizon. You better the sound ns, then

  628. let's stop busting.

  629. Would you wake up and see that you're lost.

  630. Would you wake up and see that the headhunters have

  631. always come for Christians, cowards and the service they would

  632. find no place? So Apostle Paul writes this beautiful epistol.

  633. If you study it, brother Caleb, you will see that

  634. he's basically stating the change is inevitable. Change is coming.

  635. I said it this morning. Change is not coinage that

  636. you put in your pocket. Change is something that you embrace.

  637. That changes you.

  638. These believers needed structure, they needed sound doctrine. Paul hadn't

  639. even met her an end of the mailbox, by courier

  640. comes a letter and they open it up, and Paul

  641. wants to make it clearer. I recognize that wonderful things

  642. are happening here at the Church of Romeme.

  643. But I gotta tell you the same thing Jerman told Jerusalem.

  644. I gotta tell you the same thing I Paul told

  645. the Church of corint I gotta tell you better stuff

  646. that braggon.

  647. You better stuff, thinking.

  648. You're better than everybody else, are bigger, and then everybody

  649. else are better than everybody else.

  650. They say, the bigger they are the heart of the fall.

  651. You see, Paul wanted to make it clear to these

  652. saints that they were justified by faith through Jesus Christ.

  653. Paul instructed these people, and there was structure in that

  654. letter or that epistle. Paul talked to.

  655. Roman believers that the Lord Jesus miraculously changed life. As

  656. I perused through the Book of Romans this afternoon, I

  657. saw that he was a proponent of transformation, and a

  658. proponent of the Liberates, and a proponent Oprah.

  659. And come on down miracles.

  660. In example, Imprah life changing experiences took the trucker and

  661. sobered them instantaneously, and took.

  662. The attic and made them a brand new man instantaneously.

  663. You see, Apostle Paul knew firsthand about such a change

  664. he experiences on the road to Damascus.

  665. Paul would toss out silindocers of the modern churches of

  666. today quickly. He would toss out this lopsided faith healing garbage.

  667. He would toss out this lopsided charismatic movement garbage.

  668. He would talk out, toss out all of this stuff.

  669. He would preach divine heathen, but he wouldn't preach it lopsidedly.

  670. He would preach, I'm telling you prosperity for the soul,

  671. and then he would say, I wish that you would

  672. prosper as your soul prospers.

  673. But he made no promises.

  674. You find that he was a proponent that the church

  675. should expect and anticipate persons.

  676. You should at any time it's eminent, it's about to happen.

  677. Just assures the coming of the Lord. It's about to

  678. happen at any time, at any moment.

  679. The nation descends against God, the nation that turns her

  680. back on God, the nation shap me turned into mail.

  681. Paul taught that a Christian, after that they.

  682. Are converted, and after they become a member of the

  683. Bride of Christ, the part of the family of God,

  684. that they do not cease to grow in grace and

  685. in the knowledge of the Lord.

  686. Say to Jesus Christ.

  687. Paul taught that people continue to pursue God. Now this

  688. is going to resonate with some of you. When I

  689. married Sister Howell, just shout thirty years ago, I didn't

  690. cease pursue in charity. Here it is thirty years later,

  691. and we're stronger in our relationship than we've ever been.

  692. Here it is thirty years later. She's still looking for

  693. opportunity to please me. He is thirty years later and.

  694. She's still looking for opportunity to improve herself.

  695. So why is it different with the Church and Christ

  696. Why is it that people feel like after they've been married,

  697. after they've experienced salvation, then they just seize or terminate

  698. pursuing God. When I'm talking her brother Thomas there at

  699. whoever Thomas there, yesterday he said, I've taken my wife

  700. out and to celebrate thirty five years of marriage. Isn't

  701. that a wonderful accomplishment? And you know what I could

  702. tell he is still in pursuit of her love. He

  703. is still in pursuit of her affection. He's still in

  704. pursuit of her passion, or he would not have been

  705. desirous to take her out.

  706. And why is it that the Christian.

  707. Up today, the Christian and the modern churches of America,

  708. after supposedly they're praying when they were eight years old

  709. and get baptizing the little baptism and pulling the back

  710. by the way peel like they don't have to pursue

  711. rxiousness and sake the potation and holiness. In this book

  712. of moments, I fell an apostt Park who's killing these

  713. by beis getting out. But good lad, now you need

  714. to present sake the portation, which is holy living.

  715. I thought it all was taken care of. About the crawl.

  716. I thought it was all taken care of by the

  717. blood bath.

  718. I thought I'll prayed when I was hating, it was

  719. all taken care of. Okay, marry your wife. Don't come

  720. back to see her, and seventy five years later, expect

  721. her to know you. Here's what she's gonna say to

  722. part from me, You worker of iniquity. I never knew you,

  723. you us her, your abuser. Oh my God, I tell

  724. the Holy Ghost. Here is how I'm about finished.

  725. I just felt a release of the Holy Ghost. If

  726. we're gonna get anything out of this here or not,

  727. we better narrow right in here and get focused.

  728. Paul taught that the Roman believers should expect miraculous changes

  729. in their lives.

  730. Let's read our text again. Where is boasted?

  731. Then?

  732. Where is boasted? It is excluded by what law of verts? Nay,

  733. but by the law of faith. It's in him we

  734. live and move and have our being. It's only by

  735. the grace of God we are what we are. Apostle

  736. Paul said it wasn't because I paraphrase he was not saying.

  737. It was because of his excellent speech, his oratorical abilities,

  738. his talents, his reputation.

  739. He said, I came in demonstration, and he said, I

  740. am what I am by the grace of God.

  741. I am what I am today only because thirty years

  742. ago love lifted me.

  743. I am what I am today only.

  744. Because he loved me when I was at my worst.

  745. That's what Apostle Paul said. Where is the boasting them

  746. for the jesse when you come to the piano?

  747. Is that it worked?

  748. No, it's by the law of faith. In the Book

  749. of Ephesians, in the fourth chapter, the twenty seventh verse,

  750. we find the words of the apostle Paul. He said,

  751. either give place to the devil. And then in our text,

  752. brother Philip, he makes it clear, don't you give place

  753. to boast it. Don't you act like the Pharisees.

  754. Do that you're better. You will remember they found fault.

  755. With Jesus because he ate with publicans like Levi and Zachis.

  756. They found fault with Jesus because he ate with republicans

  757. and sinners. Now he didn't party with them, he didn't

  758. spoke at stoke, He or joint with them. He didn't

  759. partake of a social drink for them, he didn't put

  760. on his bikini to go with him. He ministered to them.

  761. And whenever you could look me in the eye and

  762. tell me that you laid out of church on Sunday

  763. so you could go down to the beach party where

  764. you're coworkers. And when you could tell me you were

  765. holy attired and took a holy spirit of a holy

  766. God with you, and you left, and you cried, and

  767. you called out their sin for what it was, and

  768. you loved them enough to tell them the truth, then

  769. I'll believe you're a Christian.

  770. Don't boast in your sin.

  771. The preacher when he preaches against sin, he's not shaming you.

  772. You are ashamed of your sin. You were condemned because

  773. of your sin. But somebody put the spotlight on your sin.

  774. That person isn't trying to shame you or embarrass you.

  775. Let's stand.

  776. I pull the Holy Good to this special way tonight.

  777. This is for somebody particularly.

  778. So when it comes to our salvation, sister, when I

  779. can't boast of my salvation, the Bible said in Ephesians

  780. two eight nine for by grace or ye saved through faith,

  781. and that not of yourselves. It is the gift of God,

  782. not of words. Does that he manhold boast I'm preaching on.

  783. What do you have to brag about?

  784. To brag is a pumptuous, boastful statement, to speak with

  785. pride about something you have done. Picture with the men

  786. get the imagery of seventy seemingly well meaning, innocent minded

  787. disciples of Jesus.

  788. Approach of Jesus, and the Bible said, with great joy.

  789. They said, Pastor, Master, Pastor Jesus, Messiah Reba n I,

  790. we've been casting out devils in your name. Here incited

  791. the Bible said, with joy, we've been doing something. We've

  792. been doing something the demon possessed or delivered because we

  793. have been doing something. And they said, even the devils

  794. are something under year name. They should have realized there's

  795. power in the name of Jesus.

  796. It wasn't in their name. It wasn't in their nights.

  797. He wasn't in the number seventy.

  798. Who was in the name.

  799. It wasn't in the number. It was in the knave.

  800. Now for the Holy gs, we got seventy disciples in

  801. the night thank God for the number. But it's not

  802. in the number. But this said a name. I'm post

  803. because of him.

  804. I'm saved because of him, I'm delivered because of him.

  805. How no longer back because of him. If you want

  806. to talk to lesa tonight, he would cart the multitudes

  807. of the masses and say, it's because.

  808. Of that man.

  809. He loved me at my words, Brother Jeremiah, Oh you know,

  810. is dad the hoes preacher?

  811. Brother feeling there may be a slot blind on my life.

  812. If I've ever failed you one time, it was probably

  813. just that one time.

  814. God shows you my humanity so that you can't worship me,

  815. you worship fail. That's what God did to John the Badness.

  816. John the Badness said, why for sue me? Are you

  817. the one that came? You know he came?

  818. John?

  819. You had the holy ghost in your mother's wound. You

  820. were ordering heavenly words. You were speaking of heavenly language

  821. six months conceived, speaking.

  822. Of heavenly language the name of Jesus.

  823. There's something about today, But Jesus allows him to go

  824. into a prison house.

  825. John to John, John, what's wrong with John? I don't

  826. even know anymore? Wasn't it fab.

  827. Apostle Paul said, less when I preached the authors have

  828. found myself a casta.

  829. The post proposed said, take not your grist from man,

  830. take not your goodness from may. Listen to the bars,

  831. and the prison asked John, saying, has it wrong the

  832. mice here is he?

  833. They couldn't sing the song with soul anymore? And God

  834. saw to it that they could sing the song of David.

  835. David fell.

  836. Because there's watch of missing brother Beauffred. He loved you enough.

  837. They haven't. Preacher preached last Sunday morning, very words, the

  838. very words.

  839. And told to be in private, because he loved Coy

  840. beauft It doesn't matter what you've done, It doesn't matter

  841. how far have you called him.

  842. He loved you, let your worst, and you want your

  843. mother not he loves you anymore.

  844. And he picked you up when you're and your God

  845. he picked you up when he was stewing in iniquity.

  846. Apostle Paul said, there was some homosexuals, There was some intimident.

  847. There are some porticatus, the us, the nos, but the lost,

  848. the lost, all the lot of Jesus, all a lot.

  849. Of Jesus, and Jesus told in disciples, He said, don't

  850. rejoice in that power of my nighbor.

  851. Don't rejoice only to the power of my name.

  852. And please don't rejoice in the power of your name

  853. and earth. But one thing you can't rejoice in that

  854. is that your name's written in heaven. Rejoice in this

  855. fact that your name is written in heaven. Going on down,

  856. I don't have my Bible.

  857. And that's in front of me. But going on down

  858. I saw today have my Bible. The next verse, Jesus said, Father,

  859. I rejoice, And.

  860. Everybody said, I'm glad that you reveal it to the simple.

  861. I'm glad you reveal it to the weak.

  862. I'm glad you're reveal it to those of ill reputation.

  863. I'm glad you picked up Mary because if you.

  864. Pick up Mary Magdalene, you know the one.

  865. Maybe wonder if seventy testing them all, she's not a

  866. less app better because he's never forgetting her match.

  867. The Holy ghosts here in this place, this power hid
