  1. All right, So may I direct your attention to Obadi

  2. verse number three, the shortest book of the Old Testament.

  3. Obadi in verse number three, Brother Samuel, Proverbs, chapter number

  4. seventeen and verse number seventeen. Listen, a friend loveth at

  5. all times. And a brother is born for adversity, and

  6. a brother was born for adversity, Brother Jesse, Proverbs chapter

  7. number sixteen and verse number eighteen. My brother, pride go

  8. before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall. Let's

  9. stand for the reading of our golden text Oba Dahiah,

  10. chapter number one and verse number three. And I need

  11. the mothers and the fathers of Israel to pray for

  12. me tonight. The Bible says, the pride of thy heart

  13. hath deceived thee Thou that dwellest in the clefts of

  14. the row, whose habitation is high, that saith in his

  15. heart woo shall bring me down to the ground. Let's pray,

  16. Heavenly Father. We love it, we praise you, We thank

  17. you for the opportunity to be in your house tonight. God,

  18. I thank you for this precious people, people that are

  19. called by your name, people that serve you, and the

  20. beauty of holiness and that worship you and spirit, and

  21. intreat you know the place wherein they stand before you

  22. this night. I pray that you would annoy it their

  23. ears and help me to hear what the spirit of

  24. God says, and to the church tonight annoying me, God said,

  25. a guard in my mouth, and help me to say

  26. the things that you would have me to say, nothing

  27. more or less. Lord, I pray that they would hear,

  28. and that they would heed. I pray that they would

  29. depart this place joyfully and not sorrowfully. In Jesus's name.

  30. In the church says Amen. Reading this third verse in

  31. the Book of Obadiah, the Bible said, the pride of

  32. thy heart hath deceived thee now that twelst in the

  33. clefts of the rock, whose habitation is high, the saith

  34. in his heart, who shall bring me down to the ground.

  35. Not only just bring me down, but bring me down

  36. to the ground. Our text has found in an Old

  37. Testament book of the Holy Bible. The Book of Obadiah

  38. is a short book. In fact, the brevity of this

  39. fighting is a marvel unto me. But yet within this

  40. short sacred writing, in these twenty one verses, there's a

  41. lot said about the Edomites. And because I was raised

  42. in church and that I've taught Sunday School since i

  43. was about twelve years old and I'm nearly fifty now.

  44. Because of my knowledge of the Word of God and

  45. the contents within these leather binders, I knew that there

  46. was a very large and detailed history behind these few verses.

  47. What are there twenty one verses in the Book of Obadiah.

  48. I knew that there was a lot of history behind

  49. the message of Obadiah. And if Brother Nathaniel was not

  50. on vacation and was present amongst us tonight, he would

  51. let out a hearty amen. Again, I want to say

  52. there is a lot of history behind the message of Obadiah.

  53. The first verse of this sacred writing gives the source

  54. of inspiration for these few verses. The man of God, Obadiah,

  55. an oracle, a mouthpiece of God, has experienced a vision

  56. resulted in revelation of things forthcoming to the Edomites. I've

  57. told you that while I laid upon my bed this afternoon,

  58. that God awoke me from my sleep and start my

  59. spirit to search for something within this short book or

  60. brief writing. As I read through this book of the Bible. Today,

  61. I was made aware of the fact that our heavenly

  62. Father sees and knows all things. There is nothing that

  63. goes unnoticed. And can I tell you that before destruction

  64. takes place, it is announced. People are forewarned before destruction

  65. comes any one's way. The Bible said, there is a

  66. way that seemeth right unto a man, but the end

  67. of that way or path is destruction. We find it

  68. in the Word of God that it has stated and

  69. written His eyes are in every place, beholding the evil

  70. and the good. In other words, and our pairent praise

  71. that the good eyes of God are upon the good

  72. deeds of good people, and the good eyes of a

  73. good God, or upon the bad deeds of evil and

  74. wicked people. In this short writing, I found where God

  75. was mindful of sweet beloved Israel. I also found that

  76. God was very mindful of other nations. We talked this

  77. morning that there was a time within the national history

  78. of Israel where they felt like they were God's favorites,

  79. and no doubt they were. They were specially selected and

  80. chosen by God to be his people. And if you

  81. were not a member of that club, you were simply filled.

  82. And the off scaring of the earth, and there was

  83. no hope of all for you because you were alienated

  84. from the promises of these precious people of God. And

  85. so in this brief writing, brother Jesse, I pound that

  86. God was mindful of the nation of Israel, but it

  87. was also mindful of the Edomites. There's something about that name,

  88. the Edomites that sins a coulture down my spine. It

  89. probably has something to do with my knowledge of their

  90. history and also my knowledge of what was prophesied concerning

  91. them by God's mouth Peace the prophet Isaiah. You see,

  92. God knew things about Israel, any new things about their

  93. neighbors on the other side of the Dead Sea. Now,

  94. thinking about neighbors, how many of you have good neighbors,

  95. how many of you have bad neighbors? A whole lot

  96. more of you were testifying to the fact that you

  97. have good neighbors, while others are testified to the fact

  98. that you have bad neighbors. And Sister Howell, I thought

  99. about these termites and how they dwelt and nearby, probably

  100. too near to the people of God, and how God

  101. would have perceived them, and they would have perceived these

  102. people as their neighbors. Again, they resided on the other

  103. side of the Dead Sea. How many of you know

  104. there are people that was raised in church with you.

  105. They sat on pews and they heard annoyed preaching by

  106. great men of God.

  107. But to no Seemingly they're on the other side of

  108. the sea. Seemingly they're on the other side of the world.

  109. But by the perception and the beauty of God, God

  110. saw them as near neighbors. And I want to preach

  111. a thought that the Holy Ghost gave me and a

  112. serving the Holy Ghost title not in my neighbor Hoodly,

  113. come on now again, I say that the Lord knew

  114. the present state of the Israelites and that edam Manza,

  115. and also he knew their former state. He knew their history.

  116. This trouble began to develop while two brothers were developing

  117. in their mother's room. The struggle began. The Bible readers

  118. and students in this building, Tony, will know the names

  119. of these two men that I speak of, the brothers

  120. Jacob and Esau. You see, Jacob would be the representative

  121. of the nation of Israel, or the patriarch of such

  122. a people, while Esau would be the representative of his

  123. descendants that edo mines.

  124. It appears to me that the Lord that keeps good.

  125. Records those who refuse to repent for their wrong doings,

  126. their disobedience, their rebellion, and their stubborn ways. God was

  127. keeping the record. I've found it right here in this

  128. short book on the Bible, that there was no leper

  129. that was not turned over. Every single leaf was turned over.

  130. God had a record of everything, just like that. It

  131. is recorded in the Bible that man will give it

  132. a cow for every word that is.

  133. Spoken, those that are fitly spoken, a licking in the

  134. apples of gold in pictures of silver, but also those

  135. that are not so fitly spoken.

  136. For the father that speaks to.

  137. His son, not in a right tone of force, not

  138. in a right manner, to discourage that son as he tries.

  139. To pursue the will of God. God has a record

  140. of that for that word. The carnally minded wife that

  141. discourages her husband from living right and holding before God.

  142. God has a record of every conversation that was uttered

  143. and muttered behind closed doors. Would you pay for me

  144. as I lay a foundation here? Ani see brother Jesse,

  145. these two men should have been brethren, as Simeon and

  146. Leviah word.

  147. They should have been closely knit.

  148. Because her who their father was, because her of who

  149. showed them how to go about worshiping God. But you

  150. will remember that God said, when the day was over

  151. and everything was finished, Jacob, have I loved? And Esau

  152. have I hate?

  153. How many of you know? If people can tell.

  154. When God is disappointed with them, they can come to

  155. church and act like their oblivias to the disappointment or

  156. displeasure of God. And if they were to be honest

  157. with themselves and with us, they would say, I FLD,

  158. I have disobeyed God, and I have disappointed God.

  159. Oh, come on now, he said, somebody left in this

  160. building tonight that I'm preaching to. I feel like it's

  161. highly likely that you're sitting down now right now and

  162. not standing.

  163. Up to And I have not done a surveyor scene

  164. who is sitting down there?

  165. Pressus? Who is standing? It appears to me that God

  166. keeps a record. I want to say it again. God

  167. keeps a record.

  168. He knows you know, so he knows why you do watch,

  169. and he knows why you.

  170. Refuse her to do what you should do. We know

  171. the Bible said that anyone that does not do what

  172. to knowne. To do it is sin under that person

  173. better Jesse, as I read through this short writing, it

  174. burst them agin. I found some reasons for a while

  175. he saw, and his descendant would have been hated. My God.

  176. I know there's some cardinal sins that we find in

  177. the Bible sans it God hates.

  178. Y'all know this one is like this. Ain't just shed

  179. innocent blood. You don't have to use.

  180. Your hands as Caine did, or attempt to do it

  181. as he saw did.

  182. With your hands. You don't have to do it with

  183. your hands. You can do it with your mouth. I'm

  184. telling you.

  185. There's some people are that have ruined the reputations of

  186. good men and good women simply because her.

  187. They were jealous or somebody else. The Bible spoken of

  188. Persees during the time of Christ that they envied him

  189. without a cause, meaning God would not have been able

  190. to write her when Jesus gave them what good reason

  191. for there? In me?

  192. There was no good reason at all through mine he saw.

  193. Despise Jacob and the first writer and the God for

  194. the first right blessing, Sister Hodel, I don't really know

  195. the hearts of every parishioner in this fielding tonight. But

  196. I do know that God will let.

  197. Me know that somebody's heart is deceiving them. The Bible

  198. set about that heart that you're trusting in her, that

  199. it is.

  200. Desperately wicked, and asked the question, how can you know it?

  201. Come on, there's somebody they're trembling right now as you're

  202. sitting down in that to know. And that's your number

  203. has been called. Tonight, as I got just a few

  204. short versus ill and got to the tenth Press, I

  205. find some reasons for destruction coming their way, not to

  206. the israel Lights only, but to the Eden Mi sir,

  207. I tell one reason for this being they refused to

  208. help Israel when they needed it. When the children of

  209. the is were made their exodus from Egypt's land, when

  210. they were finally liberated and set free from the test

  211. masters and the mighty Pharaoh that held them bound while

  212. they were in the wilderness, they needed help. Oh yes,

  213. there must probably a minor solicitation for help and a

  214. major solicitation for help that at some point he saws

  215. the So they refused to help their brother. Now, somebody

  216. in this fielding would say, are you telling me that

  217. God kept the record of somebody's refusal to help their brother.

  218. He has some telling you all these years later. Oh,

  219. that Guaya is telling the hill that God has not

  220. forgot what your ancestors did when your brother's needed help.

  221. Our brother read the context tonight that a brother is

  222. born for adversity. I'll tell you why you're alive, he saw.

  223. I'll tell you why you're shared the rule. We are brother.

  224. It's because he was supposed to teach your brother's back.

  225. He lit it and left, and God puts you in

  226. a position.

  227. He puts you back Tobacca in the room, or the

  228. church in the party, hap Israel. Then come on now,

  229. as sure as you breathe and live her. You ought

  230. to have her run another's back, he said. God's got

  231. a record of you wand there when you should have

  232. in there. The wise man wrote in Proverbs seventeen to

  233. seventeen that a friend loveth at all times, and a

  234. brother is born perdversity. A friend, like a wife towards

  235. a husband, will love for richer or for pore, for

  236. better or for worse.

  237. It's simness or help that friend will love at all times.

  238. I feel like it's saying a primitive brother is born perversity,

  239. because I know what it is to be among church

  240. people that were not so friendly as brothers, and they

  241. did not help.

  242. In the time of need. I'm not talking about somebody

  243. running all over creation not to wilmos some in her

  244. I'm not talking about somebody abusing the man of God.

  245. That I'm talking about when somebody was reaching for hope,

  246. when somebody was being turned over by the devil, when

  247. somebody was being let a strained. Where was that personalty

  248. in that service? Where was that personalty in that altar?

  249. Paul now got just one hand laid on the back

  250. of that brother with a sent a chill of hope,

  251. and the spinele to know. I'm not the lord that

  252. come on now, we don't.

  253. Really lies exactly what we mean to our brother.

  254. You mean the word of.

  255. Somebody sitting in this food to lie, You mean the word.

  256. Of somebody sending in that peen to not listen. Touch

  257. of her brother is a friend, and there should be

  258. a best friend a brother, even when another brother. It's better.

  259. I'm going somewhere you see trouble developed in their neighborhood.

  260. I'm preach it tonight. I message the Holy Ghost title

  261. not in my neighborhood. That's what he sau could have

  262. said about the womb of his mother. Surely there wouldn't

  263. be this strife that would take a life in the

  264. womb of a woman. What the Bible said, there was

  265. a struggle in the womb of the mother, and during

  266. the time of birth, they were fighting to see who

  267. would be first. One took the heel of the other.

  268. And we find this spirit of competitiveness. I raised five sons.

  269. My nature is to be very competitive. But when I

  270. got saved, God checked me on that. I've never preached

  271. her in competition at any can meeting. I have sensed

  272. the competitive nature and called preachers, and it makes my

  273. stomach hurt.

  274. Come on now that I'm telling you this competitiveness that.

  275. I see, who can breed trouble? I said, it can

  276. breed trouble. There's a lot of people in a church.

  277. They start picking sides, so they start choosing paper. So missen,

  278. God have got any favorite, So he's got a respector

  279. a person of what he dost, respect of his faith

  280. and love and hope in the person of anybody who

  281. want a thought in the neighborhood of righteous move they

  282. can want to be in trouble in Rebecca's groom man.

  283. They can't want to be in trouble? Then?

  284. Who want to thoughter in the neighborhood of Isac?

  285. And with that come that don't want to be in

  286. trouble like this? You want to talk? You know, we

  287. shouldn't be surprised though the devil he's swie and he's

  288. so cutting. He had been doing that. Part of this

  289. we find right here where came he got upset at

  290. his brother Abel. I want to say this again. A

  291. brother loves even when another brother is better. A brother

  292. loves even when another brother is better. Kin just couldn't

  293. stand it that Abel was more devoted and consecrated that

  294. he was. Kin could not stand it to the Abel was.

  295. More devoted and consecrated that he was.

  296. He couldn't stand it to God accepted Abel's offering. It's

  297. hard for me to imagine the probably the first recorded

  298. vership service in.

  299. The Bible shows us trouble in the neighborhood. Come on, now,

  300. this trouble right there was somebody he's trying to administer.

  301. They're offering up praise to God. They're trying to be

  302. at me here and bring your hearing.

  303. Best to God when there's somebody hidden.

  304. The beard and listen, sirs, what you're doing. They're studying

  305. them up and down, and they're wondering why it's conressing

  306. deal and knocked them. Why's cockressing deal and not me?

  307. They think, I'll tell you lie because you've got altar

  308. in your heart against your brother you got in me

  309. and jealousy pers pride in your heart. Rather than doing better,

  310. Came begins to stew on this until he takes the

  311. life of his brother Abel. Cain brought the Lord an

  312. offering of the fruit of the ground, and Abel brought

  313. of the first things of his flock. I believe Cain

  314. brought whatsoever he can get his hands on easily. In

  315. other words, church starts at seven thirty, and I'm a

  316. young man and I've known the church starts at seven thirty,

  317. and it's seven twenty three.

  318. I'm gonna go down to the handy and buy some breath, Mitch,

  319. because I need breath.

  320. Mitzer, heuring the service. Oh no, you don't. That is

  321. the spirit of Caina. I will lay hold of whatever.

  322. I can get my hands on conveniently. I'll come in

  323. and slide into trencher and sit on the back view.

  324. I want everybody to think her.

  325. That I'm busy. I want everybody to think her that

  326. would cost me something. I want everybody to think her,

  327. I really brought something to God.

  328. There, come on now.

  329. But then you've got that spiritual able.

  330. He comes to church of thirty minutes early every single

  331. service for a decade.

  332. His bitch is aware. And now to hacking knees from

  333. getting down hers knees and praying. And then of course

  334. everybody's gonna know this that God is blessing em the

  335. cycle pass of Abel and you thoosing the cycle Possain.

  336. I'm telling you, you don't realize how off it's it

  337. is to God. When you're dragging here at the last

  338. minute and causa and offering you call the love all

  339. praying lo to God, and people say, Nope, it's not

  340. gonna happen in my neighborhood.

  341. It's not gonna happen in my local church. It's not

  342. gonna happen in our country. It's not gonna happen to.

  343. Me and my family. It's not gonna happen to my children.

  344. You better humble yourself. The nation we call America the beautiful,

  345. the old, the great, better keep herself humbled under the

  346. mighty hand of God. People better not get too sassy

  347. and too cocky about winning This President's a lesson. I'm

  348. telling you I did not hear our president elect he

  349. say one time thanks to God. Whenever he was so

  350. telling everybody else, think for what you mean to Heaven

  351. to get re elected him, I went back into the

  352. transcription of it. Or I had a transcriptor of USA.

  353. Today I had a transcriptor of another he and know

  354. no more pridable sorcer and know her in attor? Did

  355. Donald chain't tup to thank God?

  356. Know her in attur?

  357. Did he say? Ah, thank God? Listen, every Demnocracker and

  358. every Republican that I heard her election night, they became

  359. with I thank God, and they ended with her, May

  360. God bless America. There's a whole lot more to say.

  361. Enough.

  362. I thank Carl that I could continue and then at

  363. the end saying God bless America. I don't make anybody thankful.

  364. They don't make anybody saves. They don't make anybody Christian.

  365. Am I guess Donald J. Trump?

  366. No.

  367. I was for him when most were against him. I

  368. was debating and speaking with holding his preachers that were

  369. for Senator Ted Cruise, and I was telling them Cruise

  370. can't take it from here. And I was begging them

  371. to Donald J. Trump. I've been in the Trump camp. No,

  372. my boy, it was popular for holding his preachers to

  373. wear his necktie and to preach with his handkerchiefs in

  374. the hand. I said, I thank God for him bringing

  375. Donald J. Trump into the presidency.

  376. I thankful that him and Milennia will occupy the What

  377. House once again. But I also know that we as

  378. Americans and US mons and dads and US members the

  379. buckle holes turncher and the church at larger, you better

  380. humble us semper and pray in the room the trouble

  381. and come to your.

  382. Neighborhood'll come on now. Just because you're an American citizen,

  383. only because you remember a pastor Howell's Churchill does not

  384. make you in pitcable, It does not make you pull

  385. a proper, It does not put you in church of

  386. the High place. What the devil cannot touch you. We're

  387. dealing with cockiness and arrogance, and I believe it's in

  388. somebody that has yet to be psanctified and holy gooes

  389. filled it, or perhaps it's in somebody this holy goes

  390. field it this soon to not be holy go spilling. Hey,

  391. you can lose it. If you don't use it to

  392. God's glory and use it properly, you can lose it.

  393. And so Caine wrote, whatever he can lay.

  394. His hand on easily, it's up that he did not

  395. try to offer something to God. It's not that he

  396. did not put forth an effort to go to church,

  397. to the worship service and to try to participate and

  398. to give to God. He did come into offer under God,

  399. but he was busy noticing how God was blessing his

  400. brother Abe. And I learned a long time ago, if

  401. I spend the entire time an Eliza, that God's blessing

  402. the others. I learned that thirty seven years ago that

  403. when God is blessing if and when he is blessing,

  404. that I should not seek my eyes upon somebody else,

  405. that I should not focus on and somebody else lester,

  406. I los my blessing. You see every service I thay

  407. to you, every service I.

  408. Am to you.

  409. There I want to offer in the God my paring maaster,

  410. my God has been saying to us he's great that

  411. he's gonna be greatly pray you have done that? Who

  412. am I preaching to you at Nina? Or who not going?

  413. That's so high? That's a holding that's so untouched upon love.

  414. He'll come on down. It is who you want well.

  415. I want to tell you stop coining to number. I

  416. said God, let's call to number.

  417. Lord.

  418. It's not that he laid out of church. It's not

  419. that he felt bad that night saying, man, I should

  420. have went to church. It would have been better to

  421. have been there than miss came. Had jealousy, rage and

  422. like a wildfire in that heart. Let's move on to

  423. the two brothers mentioned in the book of Obi Die.

  424. Look again in our golden text ob Die, verse number three,

  425. noticed the first eight words, the pride of that heart

  426. hath deceived thee the proud of that heart hath called?

  427. Is he to.

  428. Develop feelings of superiority. I want to say that to

  429. somebody in this building here tonight. When you feel like

  430. everybody else has to do what Obadiah is said, When

  431. you feel like everybody else has to do what God

  432. has commissioned, mandated, or commanded, but you, when you feel

  433. like you're the exception to the room because of the

  434. way that you were raised. When you feel like you're

  435. the exception to the rule because you're backwards in shy

  436. listen as the Philistine champion Glift supposed he was secure

  437. for the threat of any kind. So did these eat

  438. a master? And so did you again, Goliath? He was

  439. not invincible. Goliath was not untouchab You're not a twelve

  440. in a high place. Oh yes they did. If you

  441. read the book of oh Ma Guy, you'll see they

  442. lived in the plans of the rock, not a part

  443. of our golden Texas. Theyveel be brought down to the ground.

  444. They were proud of their geographic location. They were proud

  445. of that.

  446. They're listening to sermons of Lieder who were.

  447. Proud of that. Their hair and take the ground they

  448. were proud of. And you're wanting to everybody who they

  449. are proud of. In the heart, of course, I'm just

  450. paralleling that. I'm sure they had a lot of jewelry

  451. on the bodies. I'm sure of Brother Philip, that their

  452. hair that dragged the ground. They're eating bodies. But the

  453. spirit of edom is in some of the hearts of

  454. church people today. The spirit of edom has eaten people alive,

  455. and it's eating people alive right now from the inside out.

  456. And preachers saying not in my church, not in my neighborhood,

  457. not among my youth group, not among the hurt of

  458. my grandpa built, not about my family that was well

  459. established fifty years ago. In holiness. When you beat your

  460. chest and you say not my neighborhood, the spirit of

  461. the Etamtza is upon you already. The Bible said that

  462. they were taking great pride in the fact that they

  463. lived up in the mountain tops. They lived up here

  464. over the jagged rocks or protrude, they lived in the

  465. clefts of the rock, and they felt that they were

  466. untouchable it. You can say, well, it's been a series

  467. of services now and God has threatened me through Sister Rooting.

  468. God has threatened me through Mother Nathaniel. God has threatened

  469. me through Sister Hill and nothing has happened. I can

  470. talked and interpretation. I want to tell somebody that's listening,

  471. and tell somebody sitting in this pew you know better.

  472. You know you want me in the House of God.

  473. You know you're not superior to anyone else. You know

  474. you're not indestructible. You know you're not invincible. You know

  475. you're not untouchable. And I'm telling you there there's a

  476. hand now that it is highering your old and he

  477. can get a hold of you, and in a moment

  478. it can bring you to the crown. Who shall bring

  479. me down to the ground? Seriously, antil you get elevated

  480. to such a place, you're going to ask who shall

  481. bring me down to the ground? After you become a preacher,

  482. after you become a pastor, after you become Holy ghosts Field.

  483. But I got the Holy Ghost and such and such

  484. Church of God twenty years ago.

  485. So what.

  486. When I got the Holy Ghost in February twenty twenty three? Hey,

  487. so what? So what? I try to tear down arrogance,

  488. haughtiness and pride to not that Pribab of sixteen and

  489. eighteen that said the wise man who wrote to pride

  490. doth before destruction and a whole spirit before Paul in

  491. a nutshell. This is saying pride leads to humiliation. You

  492. can let God humble you and sneer your facer in

  493. the distant, the grounder in the earth, or you can

  494. pull yourself upon your own coursel to the ground prod

  495. leads to humiliation. Ask Eliath. Ask King Saul. David asked

  496. the question, how are the mighty fallen? What happened? You're

  497. never too tall to fall? How is solve Paul? How

  498. the deliath? Paul plat on his face. He was brought

  499. from his high place to the ground, not only Saul

  500. as the king of Israel, but Saul of Tarsussa. He

  501. tell flatter on his face on that dusty road.

  502. Oh, come on, tell somebody here, tom.

  503. You can humble yourself now and God can humble you tomorrow.

  504. Choice is yours, Esaul.

  505. Ether not so you can come out of the places.

  506. And the rock and hople a supper for God now,

  507. or you can talk of your death God nowhere near

  508. pitis for what God put on my heart. It's true.

  509. It's better to be humble and poor than proud and rich.

  510. Pride goeth before destruction. Our tick says, the pride of

  511. thine heart hath deceive thee? Will I'm too pretty, too proper,

  512. too prissy to praise the pride of thine heart. Hath

  513. to sive thee? And I'm about to preach now will?

  514. I'm staying here at this church to help these people,

  515. because I'm going to be an example. The pride of

  516. thy heart hath deceive thee Pride deception leads to destruction.

  517. Could you imagine that for the cheerful her sister Charity

  518. Howel was still hitting them charismatic and totally minded worldly

  519. churches today? Where we would be if we took the

  520. mindset to we're gonna stay with the ship, We're gonna

  521. stick it out to if I'm gonna turn it around,

  522. hope come, what would have happened? A little living would

  523. living the entire look.

  524. I'm telling somebody, Pride has to see to.

  525. You to thank for hiding of your Selpa. Then you opta.

  526. There ain't no thirty or forty of your old woman

  527. gonna be in in Sampa. That's holding us in. The

  528. men love a word only Churchill, What come on? Now

  529. you're lighting, We're reaced in your saper. The God had

  530. to pull a churney out, he'd have to pull you out.

  531. That little old lady address holdiness. When we pulled out

  532. of that world the Church of God, she told us,

  533. I'm just gonna be an example. I'm gonna stay right

  534. here and and it won't.

  535. Get a hold of me, not in my neighborhood, not

  536. in my church. There won't be delusion that will cause

  537. me to be down.

  538. There won't be strong delusion that will cause me to

  539. believe alie that be damn. There won't be strong deception

  540. that would cause me to say, yeah, I felt a

  541. little somepthing which ain't have of Jesseabel spiritually speaking or

  542. singing will come on the pride, and your heart has

  543. to see you. The Lord used, O but die. That's

  544. an order calling us a mouthpiece to tell to eating

  545. mouths that God would reduce them to rubbish.

  546. I said, God can reduce you to rubbish.

  547. One of the mysteries of this age read a Child

  548. of God, is how can people be so deceived that

  549. they feel God will not keep a record of their

  550. wrong doings. The song said, you can't do wrong to

  551. get by no matter how hard you try. You won't

  552. sit there in a house full of hypocrites and go unharmed.

  553. You can't sit there year after year after year being

  554. there anymore, or US two or US three holding it

  555. together and it not adversely affect you. I remember when

  556. sister Hill got here, there was no conversation between us.

  557. But from what I observed and the look in her

  558. eyes and just the actions of Sister Neeley, I knew

  559. that these two ladies were running to safety. I don't

  560. know all of the history. I don't know what they

  561. were up against her, but I really don't want to

  562. find out for myself, because whatever it was that put

  563. two women like this on the move and to send

  564. them to come running into a fortress, it's not my fortresses,

  565. God's fortress, I know that, But whatever it was that

  566. scared them enough and troubled them enough to climb down

  567. to say, you don't what it's time to leave. It's

  568. time to get out of here. It's time to find God,

  569. did it kind somewhere else to live? Or come on now?

  570. If you want to talked to Betsy to Boom, she would.

  571. Tell you in a month of January in the year

  572. nineteen Porty Poor, the people would have never come to

  573. town and to the stop over her would have never

  574. come to their little Dutch town. That February of nineteen

  575. Porty poor a woman named Jean Boogle.

  576. She went and told them to stop her. It of

  577. what Corey and Betsy and their.

  578. Papa was doing. However, hide people in the watchmaker's house.

  579. If you know her brother, jesse them or not come

  580. on the door, or knock came on the door.

  581. I said, a knock came.

  582. On the door.

  583. There's somebody saying that that won't happen in my neighborhood.

  584. You're trying to tell Betsy's tim booger not in my neighborhood.

  585. She would I never believe it, will I come I

  586. knocking on her door. I'm telling you the never's gonna

  587. come to that church. He's gonna knocking there and blow

  588. the house down. I'm telling you, Papa tim Boo, Bensy

  589. and Corey would have thought never. Wouldn't they be interested

  590. in the house of a watchmaker and his two girls.

  591. Not in my neighborhood, nothing in my neighborhood. A family

  592. of three will say not in my neighborhood. A family

  593. of twenty would say not in my neighborhood. A church

  594. family of twenty would say not in my neighborhood. A

  595. country of a few men would say, not him my neighborhood.

  596. I'm telling you parents, you better really get to pray

  597. in fire forest. I'm telling you American citizens you read

  598. it better really get to pray in it, get fire

  599. forest and asking God God to help our country. It'll

  600. never happened to me. It'll never been me. It'll never

  601. happened in my neighborhood. It'll never happened to my family.

  602. It'll never happened. Nope, not my neighborhood. It wanted, not

  603. my neighborhood. That's what one small town said when that shooter.

  604. When man committed mass murder, people asked one question after another,

  605. how could this be? Why did this happen in such

  606. a rural area, to such a small town. How could

  607. it be that somebody could be so mentally deranged that

  608. they were come in there and blow people away. I'll

  609. tell you where, sister Howell and I was eating lunch today.

  610. It walked a young man that had a troubled mind

  611. and a troubled spirit. I deserted it as soon as

  612. he'd come into building. The owner of the pizza joint,

  613. he deserves it as well. I was not in a

  614. position of power to deal with it. But I noticed

  615. that that manager was on the balls of his toes.

  616. If you would, I'm telling you, brother Samuel, he went

  617. straight to that young man. He cocked his head to

  618. the side, and he asked him a question, May I

  619. help you? I too was wondering what was in them riches,

  620. I too was wondering what was under that coat. And

  621. I believe that man that owned that pizza joy he

  622. was trying to make sure that there was something horrible

  623. about to happen in his little establishment that sells pizza.

  624. And that's what this little preacher of a country church

  625. is doing tonight. I'm telling you, parents, it seems like

  626. it's going in one ear and out to other. It

  627. seems like we've got covers on the green and we're

  628. still saying I've got hope, and that's good. I have

  629. hope too. I have hoped that somebody's gonna pray to

  630. not and somebody's gonna stop playing dames for God.

  631. I'm telling you, I come to tell somebody the reason

  632. for this.

  633. This pride has deceived your heart.

  634. Not just any pride, thy pride, not my neighborhood.

  635. How can these people be so deceived that they do

  636. not believe God will judge them? How can they be

  637. so deceived that they do not believe that God is

  638. not keeping record? Listen, friend, you can say to the

  639. street preacher don't judge until you get horse. You can

  640. holler in the face of brother thomastericill you lose your

  641. voice and get horse, and you can say, don't judge,

  642. don't judge, don't judge. And I want to tell you

  643. he is that your greatest concern, Your greatest concern is

  644. that Jesus is your judge. Not only is he Savior

  645. and Lord to all, he is judge of all. How

  646. many kingdoms and tyrantscoons and titans of nations have felt

  647. at some point that they were in a lofty place

  648. and out of harm's way? Again, how many titans, tycoons

  649. have felt at some point they were in a lofty place,

  650. out of harm's way. Let me answer that question for

  651. you many and how many church people have felt like

  652. they're in a lofty place, namely the House of God.

  653. But God knows if there's a spirit of Cain in

  654. the building. God knows if there's a spirit of Esau,

  655. the spirit of the Edomites in the building. And ob

  656. I spoke to the Edomites of the pride of their

  657. own heart. I'm gonna say it again, Pride goeth before destruction,

  658. not pride goeth before a fall. A houghty spirit before

  659. a fall, but pride goeth before destruction. Do you need

  660. a definition of destruction? I don't suppose anybody in this

  661. building needs the definition of destruction. Notice the first verse

  662. of this book states God had something to say about Edel.

  663. But this said the Lord God, stating the sovereignty of God.

  664. There was a messager sent by God, and God is speaking.

  665. The Lord God is speaking. Do y'all see that God

  666. let edom know that their glorying in themselves was a

  667. good and it was totally unacceptable. Well, I did wrong,

  668. and I got bud with it. Well, I ain't had

  669. nothing happened to me yet. I'm still gonna continue, just

  670. to take the easy road. I'm still gonna continue offering

  671. incomplete sacrifices. I'm still gonna have a double tongue and

  672. a divided spirit. The pride of your heart has deceived you.

  673. Listen when a person sends his pride swelling them up inside,

  674. the moment it begins to well up in their heart

  675. and mind, they need to repent of it right then

  676. and there, that very moment, when you feel it swelling up,

  677. you better repent of it right then and there. Pride

  678. tells us that we don't need a church family. Pride

  679. tells us we don't need a pastor. Pride deceives us

  680. and convinces us we can walk into a world in

  681. carnivally minded congregation week after weeken and not take a

  682. toll on our spiritual health. Should I repeat myself, Pride

  683. deceives us by convincing us we can walk into a

  684. world and carnivally minded congregation week after week and is

  685. not taking a toll on us? Know ye not that

  686. a little levin leven at the whole lump. Someone needs

  687. to stop and think about who was speaking here in

  688. the first part of this book.

  689. Of the Bible.

  690. The Lord God. You're looking at Jeremy Howell right now,

  691. and the Edomites and the Israelites were looking at Obd.

  692. But y'all need to know these two men that I

  693. just mentioned both had some sort of awakening of the

  694. Lord of the condition of people around them. The end

  695. result is it's pride. It's deceiving your heart, and it's

  696. destroying you. When an elder preacher can't correct you without

  697. you getting mad, you're full of pride, young preacher. If

  698. you're jumpy, just at the mention of something that doesn't

  699. even relate to you. Your heart is full of pride.

  700. And you know what I could do. I could just say,

  701. whoever the pastor was that approved your ministry and said

  702. you were called. The easy way for me to handle

  703. that is just say I wasn't there. I doubt your calling.

  704. I could actually say, won't be to the preacher that

  705. approved you're calling. Won't be to the preacher that puts

  706. you in that position where you thought you were somebody.

  707. You know, if I was to become the mentor of

  708. a young man and to ordain him in ministry, only

  709. to see him thirty years later be one of these

  710. counterfeit charismatic preachers and supposed faith hevers where there's no

  711. proof of the miracles following him and no signs, I

  712. would be ashamed the fact that in a little world

  713. church out in the country out ordained that man in

  714. his ministry. Gone. But brother Jesse, I've seen him clown

  715. to the summits and ministry.

  716. And.

  717. I've seen him climb to the hearts of business in

  718. corporate America, right. I've seen him climb to the place

  719. where there ain't nobody able to tell them anything. I've

  720. seen church members get to the place as to however

  721. their conscience is so hardened that even their pastor can't

  722. help 'em. That's gone where a man can stand in

  723. the pulpit and say, I had a vision God spoke

  724. to me. Y'all think about obade preaching and saying it's

  725. because of the pride of your heart. So the Edomites

  726. felt like they were safe and secure and all together

  727. they felt like they're out of harm's way. You know why,

  728. because of their geographic location. Well, I got the Holy

  729. Ghost in this Church of God thirty years ago. Well

  730. I got the Holy Ghost in this Assembly of God

  731. thirty years ago. I got the Holy Ghost in this

  732. Holiness church a year ago. Did you get the Holy

  733. Ghost tonight when we all got him again and got

  734. Reingfield again. I'll stay true to what I told a

  735. young man one time, when there's been people going contrary

  736. to the word of God for ten years, and he

  737. shot lah laying over him and telling them how wonderful

  738. they are, and telling them the blessings of God is

  739. upon them, and all that ain't the same spirit I have.

  740. I believe him working with people, and I believe it

  741. takes some people a long time, but I'll share this.

  742. The last out of our convention, we had a young

  743. preacher come here and he approached the for me, climbed

  744. on it without receiving permission, that is against all ministerial

  745. ethics that would be taught at any Bible college, and

  746. never even shook my hand, and we passed each other,

  747. got a little nod and a little wink, and so

  748. that I would make a scene. I didn't torn him

  749. out and set him down in the middle of that

  750. ultra service. But he played and sang and shot all

  751. loud in a month or form. And then when we're

  752. trying to close out our convention, he stands on our

  753. poolpit to the right hand side of it and begins

  754. to be raised and scold this people. I don't know

  755. what gets in the heart of a young man like

  756. that to cause him to do that. But the old

  757. timers had a statement or an expression that went like this,

  758. you've got too big for your pictures, and I want

  759. you to picture with me that Eda Monk's living up

  760. on a huge side up there in that mountain, Brother Philip,

  761. where they felt like they were out of harm's way,

  762. and there's no way nothing is gonna come to me,

  763. and I feel like, sister Woot And there's some people

  764. hiding in a cave of Bethel, and they say Bethel

  765. has highly annoyous services. In Bethel flies Mighty Eye, and surely,

  766. surely nothing could happen to me. Listen, we ain't your

  767. salvation and we aren't your grace. That's up to you.

  768. And I've already tried to tell the Saints of God.

  769. I'm not preaching of you, but I do ask you

  770. to pray for me. In a little town that I

  771. came from, there was a recent tragedy, probably about twelve

  772. months ago. In a sermon, I felt lad to talk

  773. about two young men that I went to high school with,

  774. name Lee Curis Chauncey and Jimmy Henson. And I talked

  775. about how they were friends through high school, how I

  776. knew Curtis really well, sister, how one knew Jimmy Henson

  777. really well. They shared the same birthday, were born in

  778. the same hospital. They joked oftentimes about being swapped at birth.

  779. In time, because Jimmy and Curtis were using drugs, they

  780. had some sort of dispute and Jimmy killed Curtis and

  781. he threw Curtis's body in a body.

  782. Of water near where they were living.

  783. He got out of that initially, but then we prosecuted

  784. him and he was found guilty of murder. So about

  785. a year ago I started mentioning that for some reason,

  786. that had happened twelve to thirteen years ago. What I

  787. didn't know was Jimmy Henson wasn't hiding in my former hometown.

  788. I was down here buying him own business, preaching and pastoring.

  789. But of the spirit I felt like mentioning, Jimmy Henson

  790. killed on Curtis Chauncey, and I wondered, why am I

  791. even thinking of that? Then three or four weeks ago,

  792. a friend of mine sent me a text as I

  793. was driving him all ho steakhouse between Sunday's services, and said,

  794. didn't you know this guy right here, Jimmy Henson? I said, yeah,

  795. I knew Jimmy had some really well. Charity knew him

  796. better than I did. I knew Curtis Chompson very well.

  797. She didn't know him all that well. He said, well,

  798. did you know that he died literally across the street

  799. from a church. I said, what are you talking about?

  800. He said, yeah, he just died. He has been three

  801. or four weeks ago when this last hurricane came through,

  802. was it Milton. He said that he had been hiding

  803. as a fugitive out on some people's lane on a

  804. little island in the middle of them Phosphoe pits, and said,

  805. whenever the hurricane was coming, he said, I'm gonna go

  806. out there and I'm gonna weather this hurricane in my

  807. camp on that little island. And so the hurricane came

  808. and it blew over an effort. After a couple of days,

  809. they said there was no change unsl and so some

  810. more boys and sister how and I know they weren't

  811. looking for their buddy Jimmy. They found him floating in

  812. a body of water just down from where his camp was.

  813. With the fugitive. They they camped, both arms, tore off

  814. of his torso, ripped from his body by an alligator

  815. that was nearby. They say he was a suspect. And

  816. the disappearance of a girl that also lived in that

  817. neighborhood where people of God was raised, a small neighborhood,

  818. a very small town, a hometown of people that loved God,

  819. where the holiness boys and holiness girls live. There was

  820. a predator, a killer, a murderer, camping appulse to road

  821. from a holiness church on a little island. Not in

  822. modern neighborhood, Not in my neighborhood.

  823. I'm okay going.

  824. To that worldly church. I'm okay going and listen to

  825. that group saying I'm okay. Instead of going to that

  826. holiness church up the road, I'll go to a worthly church.

  827. I'm okay.

  828. It'll never be me.

  829. It'll never happen to me.

  830. All you'll do is order one time too many.

  831. Bless Him Jesus. I give up the benefit of the doubt.

  832. They love God the same way all us let root

  833. in us. Did not gaiter that perhaps you've been feeding.

  834. It's just as stressed as you are about the storm.

  835. And besides, you're the pray Right then, that alligator you've

  836. been playing with, that spirit you've been toilet with, it

  837. gets you. It looks a hold in you. It just

  838. starts a death role. Not in my neighborhood, not in

  839. my bed room. I left God. I got the hold

  840. of God else than the Church of God. I got

  841. the holy ghost in the City of God. I got

  842. the holy ghost in the holiness Church. It'll never be me.

  843. It'll never be me wondering my neighborhood. It'll never be

  844. me out of my mind like Legion. It'll never be

  845. me locking my hair off with shears. It'll never be

  846. me painting my lips ruby red. It will never happen

  847. in my neighborhood. They will never happen in my household.

  848. They'll never happened in my church. The apostle Paul Lord

  849. never say grievous worst will come in. So you know

  850. he better get out of that deed of devils. You

  851. know he better patrol contract and get out of that

  852. world in church. You know what you ought to do.

  853. If you stay too long, there will be destruction. Let's

  854. stand the eat of I spelt invincible because of their location,

  855. Brother road Cap, I've heard it said about certain neighborhoods

  856. in these United States of America that life expectancy is

  857. at very high in some neighborhoods due to violence and

  858. other risk. You want me to believe you're gonna be okay,

  859. go to the world of the churches and attending services

  860. there rather than taking a drive to a holiness church.

  861. You want me to believe your life expectancy's gonna be

  862. better than somebody like brother Gable is driving fifty minutes

  863. and somebody like sister Heller's driving fifty minutes to get

  864. to church. Son, I passed up by many so called

  865. church to get here. For six years. I drove two

  866. hours one time. We had a seven week revival, and

  867. I tried my best to work almost every day that

  868. Edomites had more going on inside than a desire to

  869. live in a safe neighborhood.

  870. A right.

  871. It seemed a lot of people they were living up

  872. there to be safe. It seemed like it was smart

  873. for them to do that, Brother Ethan. But God said,

  874. you can reside up there all you want to, and

  875. you can think more how to live yourself than you

  876. ought to. But you're gonna be brought down to the ground.

  877. And I want to be any player to come tonight.

  878. I want him to play whatever the Lord has put

  879. upon his heart to play. And I wanna tell sweet Bethel,

  880. I love you. We can close out tonight singing I

  881. have hope that we can shout the high praises of

  882. God again. And I want you wanna leave this building

  883. with just in rapture spirits. I want you ought to

  884. rejoice all this week with big smiles on your face,

  885. that God has blest just timing again, has been so

  886. good to us that there's been some people that have

  887. been told to praise him greatly. I didn't look around

  888. as Sister would, and I have a sneaky suspicion that

  889. they didn't do it and still have it, and they're

  890. gonna just let the church move on and they're gonna

  891. thank Sister how that they're gonna get by. Not in

  892. my neighborhood. So in little Dutch community is a watchmaker

  893. who loves his family a lot, loves to Jews a lot,

  894. and they want to do something to help others. His

  895. motives were pure, vision was clear, his heart was clean.

  896. And then in February of nineteen forty four, someone kicked

  897. his door in I have a bird tonight for somebody.

  898. You're refusing to humble yourself. You may be listening online,

  899. you may be standing in this building, but you think

  900. an awful lot of yourself, just like the eatabies did.

  901. To think that God has it noticed, and that God

  902. has it kept a record every time he said amen

  903. to Jessebel, every time he said let's give ay have

  904. the benefit of doubt.

  905. He's got a good heart.

  906. It's not what the word God said. And I'm gonna

  907. hold true to what I said that last night of

  908. our convention about these these folks that say they're still

  909. working with people and after ten years there's no change

  910. because their hearts are not pure. They don't want to

  911. do right. But the Samuel they have no intentions on

  912. doing right. That little old Church of God woman is

  913. still cutting her hair after all them years that her

  914. mother didn't. It doesn't matter she became a pastor's wife

  915. or not. Her husband could testify before God and say

  916. she always had a problem with that. And I'll give

  917. you this to each his own. And I hope we're

  918. searching the scriptures for in them we think we have

  919. eternal life. And I hope we have received the spirit

  920. of holiness, and I hope we have been changed in

  921. a good way. But I will never be convinced that

  922. somebody's heart.

  923. Is pure and after God, when they repeated a year,

  924. atter year, aut a year, and it gets a big decade,

  925. half a century, and they're still repeating the same offenses.

  926. They know to do good, and their hearts have deceived them.

  927. The pride of their heart has deceive them because they

  928. could sing. They could move the feelings and the emotions

  929. of people in the house. But I want to call

  930. a reason this. So could Michael Jackson, so could Elvis Presley.

  931. They could summons the emotions in a mere moment. Whitney

  932. Houston could pull the heart strings and pull down tears

  933. and every eye in the house, and she died a

  934. drug addict. If you were to talk to people in

  935. hell tonight, they would say the same thing. Their heart

  936. is old. They didn't mean any wrong, they didn't mean

  937. any harm by it. They didn't intend to harm themselves

  938. or others. But it's too late. Once you're in hell.

  939. It's too late, once pride has led you destruction. It's

  940. too late, once that houghty spirit has brought a fall.

  941. And I want to pull for somebody, just for a

  942. couple of minutes.

  943. We must humble ourselves. We must humble ourselves under the

  944. mighty end of God. Is there somebody to night go to,

  945. come to this altar, kneel down and pray and say God,

  946. I want to humble myself before you humble me.

  947. I want to humble myself before you humble me.

  948. I want to say this again. There's been men that

  949. are ruined the good reputations a good man if the

  950. cause of jealousy and being pride, they don't be held

  951. accountable for them, if they don't.

  952. Repent of that and ask God to forgive their.

  953. Destruction as theirs to hold. I want everybody to listen

  954. to the real carefully right here before they say, as

  955. you pray, I will keep this person's name from you,

  956. I will not rebuild in you. But a holiness person

  957. sent me a men yesterday or.

  958. The go before yesterday.

  959. They went something like this, David was a filth.

  960. He minded well pe man and adirtured him. But yet

  961. God chose him to give us the songs.

  962. And even though that hair lipts me and my self righteousness,

  963. I must accept that he was a filthy my octation.

  964. Immediately I felt very ill and very sick because I

  965. knew that as a twisting of the scripture, and that

  966. is not biblically sound. David was a young man that

  967. loved the Lord with all of his heart. The Bible

  968. said that David meditated on the Lord day and night,

  969. that David's spirit behind after God even swam upon his bed,

  970. and his tears. His heart was so clear towards God

  971. through time. He made some critical mistakes after he had

  972. ascended to the throne, and he did commit adultery, and

  973. he did commit murder. But David was never a filthy

  974. minded person. David never had a greedy spirit. They put

  975. emphasis on his wealth. That wasn't what God was looking over,

  976. Brother Jesse as he became the beloved, sweets almost the Misrael,

  977. because when David realized he had fallen, he said, creating

  978. me a clean heart, old God, and renew a right

  979. spirit within me. His testimony was, I know what it

  980. is to feel clean. I know what it is to

  981. have a right spirit. I know what is not to

  982. be troubled. I want you to know al the minded,

  983. greedy miser would have never been able to soothe the

  984. heart of Solt.

  985. This is my point exactly to some in this field.

  986. If it's some that are listen.

  987. If you're thinking too high of yourself, you're not too tall, fault,

  988. but Le Jesse and sister hand or you may play

  989. and sing. There's some young men in this building tonight

  990. you need to humble yourself under the mighty hand of God.

  991. There's some young women, middle aged women. You need to

  992. say God, I say, it won't happen to me.

  993. Never in my neighborhood.

  994. There'll never be such a calamity or tragedy. Really, are

  995. you sure?

  996. Are you sure?

  997. It'll never be my child, It'll never be my family,

  998. They'll never be my church, it will never be where I.

  999. Go, It'll never be there where.

1000. There trying to be sure about the shoulder.

1001. Speak and see somebody about that.

1002. Can you derange your heart to stay on the cover.

1003. They can hide from home the sun the matter.
