Your attention to Luke. Chapter number two.
-
We'll be reading verses number seventeen through twenty. Brother Nathaniel
-
saw Chapter number one nineteen, verse number one oh five.
-
Brother Jesse acts chapter number twenty six, verse number thirteen.
-
Y'all have probably noticed that I had been.
-
Stuck in the doctor's gospel, Doctor Luke.
-
Let's hear what the doctor had to say here momentary.
-
Brother Nathanael saw chapter number one nineteen and verse number
-
one oh five.
-
Please, my brother, my word is the lamp under my
-
feet and a light unto my path. How many of
-
you believe that that his.
-
Word is a lamp unto your feet and a light
-
in those paths that he leads you down, Brother Jesse
-
acts chapter number twenty six and verse number thirteen.
-
Please, my brother. At midday, o Keen, I saw in
-
the way alight from heaven above the brightness.
-
Of the sun shining round about me and them which
-
journeyed with me.
-
Amen, How many of you.
-
Heard the lyric of the song that the Young Adult
-
and Youth Choir was singing just moments ago talked about
-
that bright shining star. They had no idea what I
-
would be preaching on tonight. But I've come to preach
-
on the shining star. Phraise the lords of God's in
-
this house. He's a helples stand for the reading of
-
our golden texts Luke, Chapter number two, verses number seventeen
-
through twenty. The Bible says, and when they had seen it,
-
they made known abroad the saying which was told them concerning.
-
This child, and all they heard it.
-
Wondered at those things which were told them by the shepherds.
-
But Mary kept.
-
All of these things in her heart. She pondered them
-
in her heart.
-
She pondered them in her heart.
-
And the shepherd's returned, glorifying and praising God for all
-
the things that they had heard and seen, as it
-
was told unto them, all the things that they had
-
heard and see, all the things that they had heard
-
and see. They had saw that bright light. Let's pray,
-
Heavenly Father, we love it. We praise you. We thank
-
you for the opportunity to come into your house tonight.
-
I thank you for this precious people.
-
I realized following this service will be the church family
-
Christmas party. Lord, I'm standing between them in some great
-
times and treats.
-
I pray, though that you would annoyed me.
-
To say the things you would have me to say,
-
nothing more less, said a God of my mouth, and
-
knowing their ears to hear what it is, the spirit
-
of God says unto the church tonight and play tom
-
Let these sayings go below the shoulders that I'm getting
-
that spirit of the soul. Don't let them go whether
-
or not the other I play. Let them go below
-
the shoulders. Help them to be hearers and doers. May
-
we receive this word in Jesus' name. May we depart
-
this place joyfully and not sorrowfully. In Jesus' name. In
-
the church said Amen, as you're being seated, look at
-
your neighbor and say, hey, neighbor, have you seen it?
-
Respond with us what you're talking about? You know, the
-
shining star or dot hay, neighbor, have you seen it?
-
There you go. Our text is found in a New
-
Testament book of the Holy Bible.
-
The Book of Luke has been our resource for the
-
selection of our golden and primary text in recent weeks.
-
The Bible readers and students present tonight could tell us
-
that Luke done a fantastic job shedding life upon the
-
man Jesus Christ.
-
And his ministry, the beloved position.
-
Luke believed Jesus to be the Son of God.
-
He had no doubt at all in his.
-
Mind, spirit or soul whether or not Jesus was the
-
son of God. And because of this resolved and this understanding,
-
he attempted to persuade men to embrace the deity of
-
Jesus Christ. He believed that Jesus was Emmanuel God. With us,
-
Luke shone a light on the earth of Jesus, the
-
life of Jesus, his ministry, and the blessed position. Luke,
-
unlike the other three gospel writers, he not had any
-
personal encounter with Jesus in his earthly form or in
-
his earthly body. As far as we know, Luke had
-
not even been an eyewitness to one wonderful.
-
Deed of Jesus's.
-
But we do know that he had a companionship and
-
a friendship with many other disciples that did. We know
-
that Luke never traveled with Jesus, but somehow he was converted.
-
There's not much said about Luke other than who he was,
-
how people loved him as a position, and about his companionship.
-
What a blessing this man was.
-
I have spent several years of my ministry trying to
-
shine a light upon the beloved position. Most people are
-
in agreement that he was a gentile, which is very
-
unlike God at that time to use a gentile to
-
put p in the parchment and write one of the
-
glorious gospel the other gospel writers. In other words, the
-
three out of the four, they were hebrew Men, most
-
of which traveled with the Lord. Men have spent a
-
lifetitle with three and a half years with an earshot
-
of Jesus. They spent three and a half years traveling
-
with him. I looked upon the Lord. One man put
-
it this way, he said, our hands have.
-
Handled the word of life.
-
John the Beloved, he could say, I laid on the
-
bullism of Jesus. Some have said that that meant that
-
he was a homosexual as well as Jesus.
-
That is untrue.
-
Simply stated, John was trying to catch every word that
-
Jesus spoke in that day and hour. They did not
-
have amplification like we do, and John was gravitating towards
-
the person of the Lord so that he can.
-
Hear every word he spoke.
-
But Luke, he interviewed some of these people that had
-
experiences with our Lord and Savior, and at some point
-
he fell on his knees, and through the avenue of godness,
-
sorrow and true repentance.
-
He finds himself.
-
A believer in this nude religion called Christianity. He not
-
only believes in the religion, he promotes it. Not only
-
does he believe in it and promote it, he has
-
a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, the leader of such
-
a movement and a religion, and he does everything he.
-
Can do to further the gospel.
-
Or the good news of the appearing of God in flesh.
-
And so Luke abandons his medical practice in.
-
Order to travel the world with men who the Great
-
Star has shown upon. We find that.
-
Luke he put the spot life on Jesus for other
-
gentiles that would have been considered outsiders. For other gentile believers. Luke,
-
who most believed was a gentile, gave us Luke's Gospel
-
for people like you and I, non Jewish people. He
-
shed a light upon the life, the man and the
-
ministry of Jesus Christ. In Luke's writings, we see the
-
spot life on the genealogy of Christ, that's the earthly
-
genealogy that you read throughout the week this time of year.
-
But I want you to know it began with the
-
father of mankind of humanity named len Adam. However, as
-
you begin to read the book of Luke better Jesse,
-
you see he gets away from the earthly genealogy of
-
our same here and he puts the spotlight on the
-
heavily genealogy of our Savior. He found that the great
-
Apostle Paul did likewise. One day he was with other disciples,
-
and Paul began to proclaim that Jesus Christ was.
-
The son of God.
-
Apostle Paul began the promoter the deity of Christ. Now,
-
these people that were in Damascus, they could not understand
-
why Paul was doing this.
-
You see, at that time they knew him as.
-
The imformission notorious persecutor of Thosa that were in that way.
-
He is at that time Christianity is the number one persecutor.
-
And they have failed him in.
-
Some synagogues, and he's going around and he's proclaiming that
-
Jesus said, is the son of God.
-
This man that perhaps a been a.
-
Member of the Sanhedrin, this man that perhaps a on
-
pristine real estate in Jerusalem her something that.
-
Had happened to him right when the little moles had
-
spread the news, and that this man was coming up.
-
Come on now, they.
-
Said, he's treadful, he's somebody to be feared, that he's
-
somebody to be shown that when it.
-
Was time for church to start, when the pause of the.
-
Sin of Gods were riding, he had Walter the great
-
apostol I cut down summer with a.
-
Whistling to their companion and said, do you see what
-
I see? Do you hear what I'm hear?
-
In the Notorious and the infamous soulah Thossa said, is
-
in the building?
-
What happened by the.
-
Jesse for this man to be proclaiming that without a doubt,
-
Jesus Christ is the Son of God.
-
People couldn't believe it.
-
The Christianity's greatest stuff persecutor. It's in the mascuson becoming
-
the greatest promoter of Christianity.
-
This fall will ever know, not a holy because.
-
He have a personal testimony. But he seems heaven been
-
to fulfill the great commission. And he's standing in the
-
City of God, standing.
-
Outside of the Senate of God, and it's.
-
Proclaiming that Jesus's keen of answer and Lord of Lord,
-
he's admitting and being honest, and we missed it.
-
We made a mistake. I went so hard to stop it.
-
But I want to put to.
-
The spot light on it.
-
I want to shine up life.
-
Oh Jesus, I'm telling you, every believer and that's an
-
experience like this, they won't.
-
There's not lot. Well, Jesus, So we find the.
-
Beloved possession who did not have the understanding that we
-
have today of electricity and light. You know, by the
-
Nathaniel Howell, Thomas Edison, and Hendry for Henry Ford, some
-
of the greatest adventures this world has ever known.
-
Had winter estates just about thirty seven miles from here,
-
just due west of here. You could go tour the homes,
-
the winter homes of some of the greatest minds this
-
world has ever known, some of the men that.
-
Had an understanding concerning electricity, tooling, manufacturing, and so many
-
other things. Brother Nathaniel, I want you to know in
-
this day an hour that we're speaking of, concerning the
-
time of the birtha Jesus, there would have been no light,
-
and after that there wouldn't have been any light.
-
As you know it.
-
People would have had to depend on some sort of.
-
Fuel, some sort of mining material, some sort of feed
-
for their fire. Kind of Jessey. I don't know if
-
they used all all the time of work.
-
They use food most of the time. I would say,
-
from time to time they use whatever was available. If
-
they knew the outcome of what they were doing would
-
result in light.
-
Oh, come on, I want to preach to you. I'm
-
in a hurry. I know, we gotta a Christmas party
-
to take party in, but there needed to.
-
Be a light and looking.
-
The Gentiles have been the oscarry of.
-
The earth for years.
-
They've been shot out, have reached for years. And you said,
-
I'm gonna kill him.
-
My gospel, he kill them.
-
Assurance that this man from Galilee, this baby burn in.
-
Docleahir was without her doubt.
-
The son girl.
-
Said, doctor Luke comes in.
-
He has no headlight, no headlamp, but it comes in
-
when he puts pen to parchment.
-
He begins to shed light on the.
-
Situation and spiritually alienated people and spiritually dark in mind.
-
So they become illuminated as they read about Jesus. Oh,
-
come on, Lord, you see Saul of Tarsusa. He was
-
not Paul, the beloved Apostle. At this time, he had
-
come to town on purpose of bringing somebody found to Jerusalem.
-
If they did not come willingly, they would.
-
Come against their wield after he killed them if necessary.
-
But now we find him in in a synagogue doing
-
everything he cared.
-
And even willing to put his life on the line.
-
Then he's standing there and he's took in some people
-
that had been.
-
Looking and looking in the wrong place, that this.
-
Man that just went to here for three and a
-
half years, he was the Christ, he was.
-
The Son of God.
-
I wonder if while they passed through Compass's Hall, and
-
when he passed through the Temple and some of the
-
local synagogues on the outskirts of Jerusalem, I wonder if
-
he bumped into Joseph of Arimathea. I'm talking about the
-
great Apostle Paul. I wonder if he bumped into Nicodemus,
-
and one day them two great minds they had a
-
discussion in the dark about the Jesus.
-
I know that Nicodemus had Jesus on the mind.
-
I wonder if Joseph form Vermesya and Nicodemus son had
-
put the light in the heart of heart, the great
-
Apostle Paul has come on.
-
Everybody knew there was something special about this man Jesus.
-
From the time he was amazing in the manger for
-
the feeding troup.
-
Everybody knew. He's the talk of the town.
-
He is the headline. He is the Lord, the spot life.
-
We know and we know he is Christ.
-
So he had to bear in his body marks.
-
He talked about bearing his body marks of the Lord's Savior,
-
Jesus Christ.
-
One of them scars.
-
That people couldn't see was the scard of the mind
-
that one of the first men that Jesus himself empowered
-
to do good to the widow, to lift up those
-
that were bound, to set them free, to encourage the
-
down kist spirit. That man Stephen, he knew I had
-
an estrange encounter with him. He knew I was responsible
-
for what I did. He would think, he would imagine that,
-
he would say, I held the man's garments. I held
-
the garments of those that ston him. We knew it
-
was gonna get bloody. We knew it was gonna get nasty,
-
and we took off our outer garments to keep them from.
-
Being sawn with the blood. Of one of Christianity's first martyrs.
-
And what saw knew? He saw that shining star. It
-
illuminated the pay sign of Stephen.
-
As Stephen was being stolen the Bible shipped to own
-
bookers and the participants of the stoning of the murder Stephen,
-
they looked at his face and it seemed as though
-
it was as of an angel. You know what?
-
It was a sun. Stephen had looked to pass the milky.
-
Way in a solar heaven, in the global world. And
-
in that rim he saw the shining.
-
Star, I said, in that ring he show.
-
The sight of the star was standing there part set
-
for him.
-
He saw the shining star, the shotting star. What happens? All,
-
you were an upcoming star in the same hedred.
-
Possibly you were an upcoming star in the religion of
-
to days. You were by Lela, by nationality, you had
-
no citizenship.
-
Saul, you have such a promising future.
-
Saul.
-
You can be a member of Jerusalem's Haley Wood.
-
Saul, you could be a celebrity that everybody would listen to.
-
After all, you've been schooled after of the great Comil.
-
Saul, your upcoming star, I want you to know her
-
than any celebrity.
-
Brother ain't lest her being lester, any comfort star, or
-
any ministry.
-
It tells her, in comparison to the Siding Star, our
-
kids in Pentecostal and all of his churches are being
-
overtaken by superstars. The superstar throws one good power catches
-
the ball in the end zone, and they want to
-
give their life to worship of that superstar.
-
Don't tell me they aren't given their life. They're giving
-
their finances, they're giving their time. They're wearing that one's jersey.
-
They're giving their lives.
-
I'm telling you, if I.
-
Was to take your finances, they take your name and
-
then take everything. I mean. They don't even want to
-
promote their own name.
-
They want to put somebody else's name on their back
-
and pretend right. They're there, all their little boys and
-
little girls within the religion of Judaism. If they lived
-
in this day and hour, they sol Tarsius live in
-
this day and hour, they'd.
-
Be wearing Slce jersey. Sol Tarsus, he's our man. If
-
he can't catch them, nobody can. Right.
-
They sent their religious leaders like Saul and others to
-
go out and harvest them.
-
And to bring them back there.
-
They're superstars. Saul, Saul, he's our man. If he can't
-
catch them, nobody can. There's a lot said about the
-
driving of Jehu. There's a lot said about the antics
-
of Absolom. There's a lot said about the warrior luck
-
skills of David.
-
But I'm telling you it seemed not Saul of Tarsus
-
or had every bit of it.
-
Who racked up in one little top too tall body.
-
He was extremely gifted.
-
A lot of people are.
-
Real lives walk they all left behind them after he
-
saw that shoty star. What could change this man's course?
-
What could change his direction? What could do something like this?
-
He saw the shining star. I'm gonna prove it to
-
the Scripture League. There ain't no sermon.
-
Look, and there ain't no resource on loud that will
-
give you this sermon.
-
Sis.
-
The hal walked into my office and saw me hold
-
nothing but a Bible, had a notebook.
-
That's how I get my sermons. Hey, I don't even
-
console anymore with commentaries. I read it for years. Yes
-
I did, and that helped me. Allah, But I want
-
you to know this message comes straight from God. I
-
did not know what these are.
-
The young people would see me singing about him, the
-
shining Star, and I want, Sister Root, some of these
-
young people need to do. They need to have a
-
personal encounter win.
-
That shining Star. The ain't just say about it.
-
Brother Roy Danfter's mother used to tell him from time
-
to time, Roy, keep looking for the light. Do you
-
remember brother Roy talking about that?
-
He stand up and testify, and he says he was
-
growing up.
-
His famy would say, Roy, keep looking for the light,
-
keep looking for the light. He would tell a story
-
that one time when his grandmother was laying in bed,
-
that the room lit up and it was illuminated. She
-
was sitting in darkness spiritually, and because of certain situations
-
and predicaments, her mood was greatly dampened and darkened, and
-
she did not know anything at all, hardly.
-
About the Savior.
-
And while she's sat in there, so depressed and so
-
downcasting spirit whether Roy said that that room illuminated.
-
I said that room illuminated that. That woman asked a question,
-
what's going on? And then out of her came forward.
-
To Moise and said, who are you Lord?
-
She never saw Jesus the Bible said, no man can
-
see my face and leave, Oh, come on now. But
-
she said there was a light. There's some of you.
-
You didn't see it physically that you know the night
-
you not save you've felt the light.
-
I said that the night you God saved her. You
-
tell the light.
-
You saw things differently after that? Did you not hat
-
that you once loved you now hate? Think that you
-
once hated you now love. That's what happened to saw Tarsus.
-
The spiritual metaphor morphosis took place because of.
-
This spiritual star.
-
Apostle Paul described it this vest this way Luke the recorder,
-
he called it. And at midday, old King I saw
-
in the way a light from heaven, about the brightness
-
of the sun shining round about me and being which.
-
Journey with me.
-
I'm sad to report that of all those in Churney
-
with him, we only have record of.
-
One whose life had change. I'm telling somebody who left
-
to tonight.
-
If you're having an encounter with the store.
-
They communicator with the star, the superstar, the shining.
-
Start, the save the star, you will be tides.
-
But they get too caught up in the limelight of Lucifer.
-
They get too caught up in the lime line of.
-
Lucifer, they call those when they should be basking in
-
the brilliance of the Savior's light, when they should be
-
basking in the brilliantip the sacres the light, they get
-
caught up in the lime life of Lucifer. And that's
-
where the great Apostle Paul had been caught up at
-
in the lime lot of doing Lucifer's bidding. You can't
-
tell me it was a Lucifer's bedding that would have
-
him try to stamp out Christianity. And the harder they
-
tried to stamp out their wonderful wildfire, the.
-
More it spread. Come on, huh, I'm upeeling you right here.
-
We got to have a church family Christmas party. But
-
here's Paul standing in the face of Roman governors, Roman officials,
-
Roman administrators, and he's saying, at mid day. You've heard
-
me and Mother Nathaniel say over the years, the term
-
of the expression brider.
-
Than the noonday sun.
-
That's where if we get this from accept twenty six
-
and thirteen, he said, at midday, sister, how he saw
-
a light that was.
-
Broader than that sun. I can't even bear to take
-
a glance.
-
On knock that new day sun. How in the world,
-
or did.
-
It be any writer?
-
How did the brilli that slight to be any bright?
-
Did that of the need that sung?
-
How, oh, how right it must be on it?
-
Oh, the radiant beauty of that light, How beautiful that
-
city of life must be.
-
How beautiful that shining star must be.
-
That shining star, it's none other than the world, that
-
shining star, there's.
-
None other than God. And the second person, Come on now,
-
I said that shining star, that will illuminate that. So
-
let's just see it. You know, us new to Rusalem
-
is Jesus Christ.
-
Brother roy Dancers said his near kinsman, it was either
-
his mother or his grandmother, since she fell on her knees.
-
And she responded. And that's what Apostle Paul did. He
-
fell off that high horse, he fell off that high attitude.
-
He gave way to the spirit of God, the grace
-
of God. He yielded to the light.
-
He didn't fight the light.
-
The Bible said that men who sat in darkness during
-
the period of the lifetime of Jesus Christ, they sat
-
in darkness, and a great light appeared unto them. Men
-
who sat in darkness, they saw a great light. But
-
the Bible said they didn't yield to that light.
-
They called it.
-
Why the Bible offers an explanation because their deeds weren't evil.
-
This is why they turned the.
-
Lights out in the bar room and judges and attorneys
-
and what we think are respectable women of Laka. They
-
go into the back room and they go into that
-
dark place and they drink away the sorrows and they
-
trugle away.
-
There's sorrows.
-
But I want you to know at the end of that,
-
they are still darker in the spirit, and they are
-
still darker in.
-
Their minds, and they're still living up Inda.
-
So Paul, let me get this straight. You're traveling at
-
noonday and it's cloudy, no the sun was shining.
-
How do you know that because the Bible said it
-
a light Shongbrider.
-
It was more brilliant, more radiant, more beautiful than the
-
noonday sun.
-
And they say without a sign, there is no life.
-
Something wonderful took place, something beautiful took place. And I know, sister,
-
how God's been trying to do something beautiful in the
-
heart of somebody. And I preached this morning on a
-
charity Christmas December twenty second. Is not only with sister,
-
how and I our personal relationship evolved.
-
And developed and became official.
-
It's also sisters Virginia Simmons' birthday. It's also the time
-
that she married her sweetheart December twenty second. Isn't that amazing?
-
I'm telling you, young person, you wouldn't do it just
-
because of this. But what greater gift could you give
-
back to Jesus than to give.
-
Yourself to him this Christmas?
-
Because he gave himself as God's unspeakable guilty, when there
-
was nothing up in heaven more valuable to gift than himself.
-
He gave her himself for you. On that day, a
-
religious man bet Jesus. On that day, a religious man
-
touched the light.
-
On that day, a blinded man began to see. On
-
that day, the light of truth touched that man. Aren't
-
you thankful for the light of truth? I'm sure prior
-
to his conversion, Paul was enshrining them tuned in darkness?
-
How many of you remember living in miseries tomb? How
-
many of you remember being miserable?
-
One reason for this darkness in the mind of Apostle Paul.
-
Would have been the starling of Stephen.
-
Yes, but also the other victims, the expressions on them
-
women's faces, the expressions on their children's faces as they
-
executed the man of the house.
-
Oh come on, I'm telling you that I'll play the
-
miner of somebody for a lifetime.
-
That apostle paul He might have wrote to a lot
-
of the Pauline epistles from a damper dark touch, a
-
dungeon prison, but he did not allow her to spear
-
to be dunking. Go over, and I want to tell
-
somebody something.
-
God just falke to my heart. You can wallow in
-
pity all you.
-
Want to, and you can cite your unworthiness all you
-
want to, and re posibility.
-
You can refuse to praise Him the way you ought to.
-
But God is not deceived by that at all. I
-
will conclude with this, you have not yet seen the
-
silent star. Because anybody else seems.
-
The signing stock.
-
They can't help but praise. They can't come but worship me.
-
I'm hat make help, but say, how may You're not
-
fooling us.
-
You're not fooling us. With shepherds when they set him
-
dunk on a hearside in.
-
The little town of Bethlehem, with questions asked to why
-
the citsus?
-
Why are the Roman officials required?
-
Are people to come home once again? What's more, why
-
are they numbering our people? Why do they wanted an
-
accurate count of how many people belonged to Bethlehem.
-
Do you belong to Bethlehem? I do? Do you belong
-
to God's family? I do?
-
Don't you know their shepherds? They would have been some
-
of us stamping and out of the ground. Why do
-
the Romans want to know how many heads there are
-
connected to Bethlehem. But while they pondered on these things,
-
and while they wondered why, and while they conversated and
-
maybe just had good boy conversation, suddenly there appeared in
-
the sky.
-
A multitude of the home host, the multitude.
-
Of a heavenly host, A bunch of shining stars, a
-
bunch of shiny stars. I don't know the names of
-
all them angelic beings, but brother Jesse, they certainly had
-
some calls for celebration. They certainly had some reason to celebrate.
-
I want to remind you what the sacred scripture said,
-
the angels in heaven rejoice more over one sinner that
-
repents for at ninety.
-
Nine Just people that do not need to repeat to
-
you know why they were having can't meet no in
-
this time, because they knew what was about to happen.
-
They were about to celebrate the wonderful things that Messiah
-
was gonna go. Literally, somebody had.
-
Turned the lights on to the party. Y'all ain't getting it.
-
Somebody there turning them house lights off. Brother ask again,
-
it's turn them houselights off. Turn them off right there,
-
all but one men, that's seven darkness. It doesn't always
-
include those that have been doing evil. It doesn't always include.
-
Those that are slipping a shot of whiskey in the
-
r sea cola.
-
It doesn't always include those that are causing the rocks
-
to float, if you know what I mean. It doesn't
-
always include those that are an illicit activity.
-
It doesn't always include.
-
Sometimes ben are sitting in darkness because they're waiting on
-
the light.
-
That's what some of them have been doing.
-
That's what Zacharius and Elizabeth and Mary evident they have
-
been doing.
-
And brother Caleb, the light came on. The light came
-
I said to them, Ore, you know, kings, there were
-
more than three of them, I'm sure of it. They
-
begin to hand the gerusal and they won't following that
-
silent star. And you know what your shepherds can say
-
to him.
-
That star was keeping me the goadest in the star.
-
Love not.
-
All over the heavens, But I said, worst lit up.
-
Don ain't sell of beings singing p.
-
In a God, You're the highest home Earth, Peace, good
-
will to our men.
-
They knew the.
-
Parties about to begin. They're printing out a church family
-
Christmas party, Sweet Love of God. Somebody to let the
-
line out, sweet Loave of God. The line of the
-
tribal Judah has been unleashed, Sweet Love of God.
-
They might be rocking at a fiend trough.
-
His daddy, Joseph was a carter y'all know pastor's imagination.
-
I thank God for him giving it to me. That
-
pastor uses imagination. I would say he modified that manger
-
just a little bit. He was a carpenter by occupation.
-
Just to how I know how your nature. I know
-
how brother Nathaniel's nature. I know how brother Jesse's nature.
-
And when a baby's crying, oh my God, and Heaven
-
help me right now what I preach it. That's amazing
-
the extents of mom and Dad will go to to
-
help that.
-
Little baby be comfortable.
-
But sometimes a carpenter ain't got enough materials to build
-
a basonet or the build a crib.
-
They just modify. They come.
-
I'm telling you, you know that might have been dark
-
in that stable. The brother Philip who cows knew, the donkey.
-
Knew, they knew.
-
Somebody just turned the light over.
-
I can hear your Austen.
-
Saying that to the donkey.
-
You can see him pall of heaven up and he
-
learned it right.
-
He don't let being the trauba.
-
I'm telling you that's what comfort up suns after Susy.
-
He calls down out of heaven and he laughs in
-
all alter, I said, he laughs in all alter. He'll
-
be you there.
-
So cos talking there in the heart.
-
You know what this shigning Star said about Licid Prayer.
-
He was a talling star.
-
The signing Star set out the hell shot and fall
-
as locked in.
-
Hey, he's greater than the superstar. He's greater than the
-
falling Star. He's greater, I said, He's greater.
-
He's greater. He is the shining Story, the Holy Ghost.
-
Get this place?
-
He saw the lot?
-
Was it? Hey w with a church background? One night
-
pen the words, I saw the light.
-
I saw the light no more in darkness, no more
-
and night, Praise the Lord.
-
I saw the light. If I'm not mistaken, on a.
-
Highway in the outskirts of Nashville, he had got shot,
-
if I'm not mistaken?
-
Is that right? Didn't Hank Williams get shot? Didn't he die?
-
Was it him?
-
He?
-
What?
-
He died? Drunk? Brother Tyler.
-
I hope he saw the light once more. I hope
-
he didn't drown in his darkness. I hope he didn't
-
die into the depths of hell.
-
I hope. But one tain's for sure.
-
You can tell.
-
At some point God reads for him. You could tell
-
us some hard taking the light reach for him. I'm
-
telling somebody that's a song that the hip bangers seen this,
-
come running with a devil. And I tell you, Sister Howl,
-
today I said, I'm almost positive the inspiration of that
-
soul way wouldn't come out of Churchill where somebody with
-
a good haunted setting my pronacles out in seeing her.
-
And the running with a napol Listen, leaper seeing about
-
the light. But you bout to be up in the light,
-
not in the.
-
Custo light that shines careful ass, I go what stepper
-
all the time. It was a dark knight for Hank Williams,
-
and night he died, there was a dark knight for
-
Tupac when he died.
-
It's a dark night when Judas died.
-
The Bible said that Judas went out and it was
-
night and the light and we're standing right there. The
-
light was right there, the shining stars. Sister Howell, that
-
saved you and then transformed you into the beautiful woman
-
that you are today. Who was right there his sister
-
whooting as somebody slips out of these pews in the hell,
-
and then, unlike Judas, instead of spilling their bows out
-
and going headlong to death in this life, if they
-
slid headlong in the hell, one thing about it, irish
-
slip wooping a charity. Then Howell will say, I saw
-
it when the light appeared. I saw it when conviction
-
came in the house. I saw it when they were
-
offered heavenly hospitality. I saw it when angelic beings helped them.
-
I saw it when my pastor got annointed.
-
I saw it, I said, I saw it when.
-
The ministers them pastors ministered as flames of fire. They
-
illuminated miles through the sweet conviction of the power of God.
-
I saw the.
-
Brother Samuel. How many could say.
-
I passed through the marketplace that day, and something told
-
me to visit Calvary, but I didn't.
-
I passed through the sea that day. Something told me
-
to drop my boot make my way to Calvary, but
-
I didn't. I passed through.
-
Betha Holdness church when I was twenty years old. Something
-
told me to make my way to the altar, but
-
I didn't. The shepherds and the wise men, when they
-
came into the stable on that day of christ Birth,
-
they could say the same thing. It was dark that
-
night for some reason, the two and eight said, and
-
there were in the same country shepherds abide it in
-
the field, keep a watch over their.
-
Flocked by night.
-
In Matthew's Gospel, the former tax collector recorded this in
-
a second chapter of his Ride, and he said, the
-
wise men came from the east to Jerusalem, and they
-
asked the question to Herod. They asked, where is he?
-
I saw a star, and we've come to town to
-
worship him.
-
I was praying this afternoon, and I was just like you,
-
all pressed for tyrant and brother Jean Butler. I was
-
praying about that, and God said, Jeremy, because he don't
-
have to call me brother, Jeremy, God said Jeremy.
-
I said, yes, Lord, I don't believe God calls names Samuel. Samuel.
-
Samuel speak Lord for thy servant. Listen who hears, God
-
said Jeremy. He said the Roman government knew who he was.
-
I said, say on, Lord, you won't find us in
-
a commentary, and you won't find this being preached by
-
the servants, stealing thieves, pnecostal movements. I said, say on Lord,
-
he said, Herod knew it. The Oriental kings came and
-
they said, we've seen the Chinese star and we've come
-
to worship the King of the Jesus.
-
Herod knew it, and.
-
Says the house said, say on God, because nobody can
-
preach like the Holy Ghost. Give me something to give
-
this people, And he said, Jeremy. Even Pilot knew it.
-
When Pilot said, put this inscription.
-
Over his head.
-
This is Jesus, the King of the Jesus. Every Roman
-
official they knew who he was.
-
They knew what he.
-
Could have done for his people.
-
One of them looked him in the light of the
-
eyes and said are you he and Jesus's response was
-
sat and there was no argument by that Roman official
-
that said.
-
No, you're not. And with a little dainty, little.
-
Effeminate Jewish priest coming there to say, take down.
-
That inscription, he wasn't our King pilot would have lowered
-
his reading lesses and looked at him that he would have.
-
Said, what I have written, I have written.
-
You are the one that proposition me to try and
-
knock out the shiny Star.
-
But I want you to know I can sid he
-
with a ringa and to luck with that, I said,
-
cut him up.
-
Look who are they?
-
They crucified him and put him in a tone.
-
But the tomb, come hold it.
-
They sealed it, They found it, they seal.
-
It out top. Good look that.
-
It wasn't the.
-
Roman officials trying to give out hush money. You'll know
-
who was trying to give out hush money. The Jews,
-
the Scribes, the Pharisees, the Sartrecees.
-
Were saying, don't tell what you know.
-
The Roman officials nw who he was. But I'm telling
-
you you make daughter. You may not want an experiencer,
-
but I know who he is.
-
Call you who he was, They saying this morning, I
-
glad that I know who Jesus he is.
-
I'm glad that I know who Jesus he is. You
-
can sit there and not for a royal priest. You
-
can sit there, no not to and I'll tell you
-
the sacrifica can I know? Here's my shilent start the
-
Jews alive on it.
-
They're superstar, They're shining star, the greatest thing they ever
-
had in their possession to go by. And that's why
-
Luke he said, hold on a minute, we're gonna shed
-
some light on who this man was. And once Paul
-
saw that shining star, he said, hold on a minute,
-
we're gonna put some light on this. We're gonna put
-
him in the spotlight. There's nothing in the world like
-
the Sabers spotlight. It will certainly overpower Lucifer's livelight. You
-
know what's the secular news media that's doing every atrocity,
-
every horrible thing that's going on, all them school massacres.
-
All the rap, all of the murder, all of the thievery,
-
all of that. You know, the secular news media they.
-
Highlighted, I said, they highlighted, right, they leave Lucifer in
-
the livelight.
-
Why don't they started putting painting? I'm a sacred writ
-
Should we go have a church family Christmas party and
-
eat goodies and snacks? Or should I finish this up?
-
The decision is yours. The wise men? What did I
-
tell y'all? Couple of years ago? They're called huh the magile.
-
It's not magie. When you spell magic, it's m h
-
G I c magic. Magi it's not magic. But I
-
preached a message titled say it, brother justin the Magile
-
meets the Messiah, Brother Jesse. You know what Herodage said,
-
when you find him? Because we all know he exists,
-
because our astronomers and our astrologers are saying he's nearby,
-
all right.
-
And when you're Oriental astrology and astronomy.
-
Proved superior to the Roman astrology an astronomy.
-
When you locate him, just come tell me where he's at.
-
And magi.
-
They consulted one another after walking out of a stable
-
and dusting off their kingly garments, their wives man hats,
-
and said one another, you smelled like a pig, you
-
smell like a donkey, you smelled like a cow. When
-
they collected their composure and restored their dignity. One of
-
them said, you're going back by there to look at
-
that Roman and tell him where this little man's at.
-
And another one say, what do you think we're getting
-
out of here? And the Bible said, with that Roman
-
official's heard.
-
When he found out that the Mangi had strutted out
-
of town on their camels.
-
Now now son, he got furious, and they.
-
Went around knocking out every mother's little light, because there's
-
nothing like the heart of a mother like that of
-
a blessed little bundle of baby.
-
And Hero went knocking everybody's light out.
-
Ripping them babies from the age of two years up,
-
killing them. But you know what, brother, hysteric, the little
-
shining star just drifted from Nashath and Breathleheim over into
-
where Egypt.
-
Isn't that something? How you can be looking for Jesus
-
in the wrong place.
-
That for a long time and.
-
Destroying everything else in your search.
-
That's what a lot of people are doing, brother, The
-
thing that they say they're searching for the light, they
-
say they're looking for the light man, they're destroying.
-
Their family trying to search for truth.
-
Spotlight was on Jesus everywhere he went because humanity needed
-
help code them with difficulties. When sister we lost her
-
husband to death, and in early morning, it's true, the
-
sun was just coming up that morning. The sun, so
-
to speaking, just had its cup of coffee and was
-
rising in its greatness. But it got very dark, very quick.
-
When Sister Walker called me and she said, Gene, Jean, Gene.
-
I said, what's wrong.
-
Stop crying, stop screaming, and stop shouting. What's wrong?
-
And finally I could hear her, she said, and understand her.
-
She said, is Gene, I'm dead? Dark times, difficult days.
-
Seemingly the sun doesn't stand still, the earth doesn't stand still.
-
It's eclipsed. He never been there yet, but it's coming.
-
But you know, I saw something in the building that
-
I walked by almost daily as a widow kissed her
-
husband in the mouth about thirty times, telling him goodbye repeatedly,
-
when my ear up against her ear, and she kissed
-
him and cried and kissed him, and cried and kissed him.
-
She said, Geane, I hope he was ready. I whispered
-
to her, and I said, Sister Wood, he is ready.
-
He rode the altar lasted out for an hour and
-
a half, and he cried out and asked God to
-
help them right of her. Remember I remember that, brother
-
Waldo Buter, I said, God do.
-
His physical light was about to be turned out, his
-
eyelids were about to be closed by the undertaker. But
-
there was a line in Jean that night, right, Me
-
and brother Jean sat outside of the storefront.
-
You young guys will remember it.
-
Me, him and brother Platte fellowship and having a great time.
-
And suddenly Brother Jean said, well, brothers, I hate to
-
break up a good time. It's about eleven o'clock. We
-
need to go pastor you need to dry up little ways.
-
I said, okay, I will never forget it for as
-
long as I live. We have taken chairs outside of
-
the storefront. We were sitting out there watching these young
-
men have a good time and mess with brother the
-
roof car. I think they wrapped it with saran wrapped
-
or something. Don't you young guys come in along and
-
do that. And me and brother Jean and brother Platt
-
we laughed and we laughed and we laughed about that.
-
But Sister Weop, God loved me enough to draw my
-
attention to brother Jean. He walked past our fellowship haul door,
-
and then he dyed on back towards where he liked
-
to park that band in that grassy area over there.
-
And it seemed like sister.
-
How everything faded but Brother Jean, and I saw Brother
-
Jean silhouette illuminated, and I I will never forget it
-
for as.
-
Long as I live.
-
I watched him as he walked, and I saw him
-
put his hand in his pocket to retrieve his car keys.
-
And I saw him stop like he would do when
-
he was walking, think about something. And then he continued
-
walking and he got that man. Little did I know
-
that would be the last time that I ever saw
-
him alive. But I know what I saw.
-
I saw a light ring around Jean. And y'all know
-
there's a light ring around the drone. It's called a rainbow.
-
It's a perfect.
-
Round foe around the throne.
-
The spotlight was on Brother Jean that night. The spot
-
light had been on Brother Paul one night. The spotlight
-
had been upon you all the night you got saved.
-
Now my question is.
-
Is the spotlight on you tonight? Are you within view
-
of the shiny star?
-
I remember Brother F. T.
-
Mason and brother wald O Butler telling me the story
-
of when brother Jean Butler got saved. I believe he
-
was a prodigal out and said, right, Brother F. T.
-
Mason and Brother wald O Butler and brother Mason's son
-
had prayed for brother Jean. Brother Jean got miserable. Is
-
this right, Brother Jean, you went to brother Mason's house,
-
the Lord draw, The Lord drew Brother Jean Butler, the
-
brother e F. T. Mason's house son. Huh, the son
-
his son, This son, brother Larry was.
-
Trying, was praying to God to send somebody to save.
-
And I come knocking on the door. That's where I
-
got saved.
-
They were praying for God to save something. And Brother
-
Jean Butler coming up to the house. I'll slaying the door.
-
Is that I'm here to pray, Thank God, Thank God?
-
And you know what he's been doing like I've been
-
doing ever since he got saved, saved, sanctified, hold a
-
good field and the fire baptized. Got changes on my side,
-
and I'm running from my life. I'm running for my life.
-
Why are you so fanatical because I'm.
-
Running from my life?
-
Why are you so serious about the Bible? Because our
-
context is God would hiss.
-
A lamp but to my and a lot to my.
-
Thank God in the world of God, let's stay.
-
Somebody just said, in your spirit, but it's dark out.
-
Their spiritually, the light says, we're sitting at the mound
-
Christ stuck much more bound.
-
But this season brings me some pain because I've lost lovenge.
-
I've had relationships breaking up. I've got bad memories of things.
-
So dear soul, so dead soul.
-
But the day spraying from Oma, Oh God, Jesus, Sister howell.
-
I've been in a lot of dead churches. I've seen
-
people get saved to dead churches. It's gonna be a
-
horrible thing for somebody to go to Hell.
-
Alvedly, I've seen a lot of people get saved in
-
dark places. Brother Jim Gillis is a friend of mine.
-
I ain't seen him in several years. I guess he
-
would remember me. We used to know each other really well,
-
he said. He got saved in a head band rock
-
and roll concert. Sister Walker, he said, but he realized
-
how filmed in, how vile the men were.
-
He was high as a.
-
Cot, he said, had a bottle of Jack Daniels in
-
his hand, and he said he was playing the air guitar,
-
high trunk. All of the above, he said, but in
-
a moment, conviction came to his rescue.
-
He said, I looked around and realized I was in
-
the presence of kid.
-
He doesn't even have a church background. At this time,
-
I realized I was in the presence of wickedness. And
-
he said, right there, you're right there. I think it
-
was like Eddie van Halen concert, something like that, one
-
of them threats, one of their concerts.
-
He said. He fellll on his knees in the middle
-
of that darkness, well of.
-
Every word, and he saw the shiny star that light
-
there living out of his sad and he got side.
-
Prett. You said, when I have to live in this world,
-
Jesus has that figured out. I don't know if I
-
can live in this world. Jesus has that figured out.
-
Jesus said it, And I said, Jesus said, And you
-
don't have to go out in that world. You don't
-
have to work in the world place. You have unsaved
-
friends that I save loves at times. But be not
-
fearful concerning God. I have overcome.
-
You will be the suck and you be.
-
The live but I can't take peer pressure.
-
I'm backslide in the workplace. If you'll get saved like
-
Paul did, you won't worry about.
-
Going back to the sand hue ring and harping out
-
in a conface.
-
I'm telling you, I'm telling you God wants to save
-
somebody in must feel and come to the old time day.
-
The neighborhood was dark in Bethlehem by a road cap,
-
but a light dropped out of this guy that Jesus
-
brought lively into a dark world. Let's spell our heads here,
-
if you would please, sir, ma'am, I want to ask
-
you a question.
-
Do you want to have an experience tonight that will
-
change your life forever? Alright? Said? A lot will shine.
-
Brightly for you, and every experience you've had in the
-
past will pale in comparison. At twelve years of age,
-
Jesus was ready to be about his father's business. At
-
twelve years of age, brother Rick Jacob Jesus told his mama,
-
stepped to the side and let me.
-
Do what I'm going to did he was ready to
-
crawl up on that cross.
-
At twelve years of age, I must be about my
-
father's business. And Mary, she talked to him, and for
-
eighteen years he worked in a car for the shop,
-
waiting patiently.
-
To come back.
-
At the thirty year age marking the eighteen silent years.
-
Y'all know what he was doing.
-
He was feeling himself full the carnal man, feeling that
-
carnal man, and that mind.
-
Full of the word of God. If you're here tonight,
-
if you bow your heads and close your eyes and you.
-
Need light in your lives, you know you're in a
-
vacuum and you're being pulled to darkness.
-
That darkness, that tunnel of darkness, would lead her to
-
eternal darkness in the hour darkness of hell.
-
If you know you need salvation and need the marvelous
-
light in your life, would you raise your hand? There's one.
-
I feel like there's probably two more.
-
I want to say something, young people, moms and dads, listen,
-
when you truly get converted, you won't struggle with sin,
-
you will cease, You will love Jesus for them to
-
this woman. So among seventy five that's prays that right now,
-
there's one that needs Jesus to be the light of
-
their life. Before we have a church family Christmas party,
-
I would like to just encourage everybody to kneel in
-
the sun's light. We'll even give the musicians a break
-
unless they just really got something burning.
-
Let's pray, and I want that one that God has
-
dealing with to to ask the light to shine, and
-
everyth work the three of your heart.
-
Everything that is hidden, may it be revealed. Everything that's
-
mass must be manifested. Just repent and say God, I'm.
-
Sorry, Say change me, change me.
-
Some in this building have gathered little ones into the
-
family riot. And you've set out to go look at
-
Christmas lights. You know what you would tell me, Pastor,
-
the neighborhood was dark and when we did that, but
-
they caused them. Lights were there. They made it a
-
pleasant experience.
-
I don't know why service is so precious. It's dark
-
out there in that world.
-
Become to church and there's beautiful little lights. It's about
-
seventy five little Christmas lights right in here. The skies
-
may not be lit up with angelic bens tonight, that
-
it will be again one day, said He's coming again,
-
that advent. That appearance will bring with it a bunch
-
of other shining stars.
-
But Jesus will be Lord of all and jar the Kiefs.
-
Thank you, brother Luke the beloved position. You shouldn't a
-
lie on the life of Jesus in the purpose of
-
his ministry. Thank you, Apostle Paul, even though you were
-
in the dark den roll in jail.
-
Thank you for giving us He's epistols.
-
But most of all, thank you Jesus for when I
-
was in a time of darkness, you shine the light
-
of the glorious Gospel in my heart.
-
That's what somebody needs to thank you for.
-
I thank you for the light.
-
I thank you for the life like.
-
Lord. We pray for that one now. It feels the
-
thing he liked.
-
God, you said in your words, and him was light,
-
and in him was no darkness at all.
-
God, I pray that you would come into this heart
-
that does darkened. Would you come in and bring the
-
light with you, and you don't.
-
Live a name in the situation, hoping her understanding. Open
-
our eyes, health of Jesus, Health of Jesus, Health of Jesus,
-
Open the eyes of our heart.
-
Lord, we wanna see Jesus. Lord, help 'em see beyond
-
the little Star of bethely Ham. Let 'em see it's
-
the star of the Messiah.
-
It's bigger than Bethlehem.
-
It's bigger than that
-
We have seen his star, his star, that very star
-
that illuminates heaven.
