The spirit of the Lord in this place to step

this evening.

Amen. It's just been such a mighty wonderful manifestation of

the Lord.

Amen.

From the start up until this point. Amen, I've just

enjoyed the service so lach. I enjoyed this morning service

as well.

Didn't you. Amen. Wasn't there a wonderful, wonderful service. It's

just been a beautiful day in the Lord up until

this point, hasn't it. Amen.

I'm just so glad to be in the Lord's house.

I want to say, I love what Brother Nathaniel brought.

Out there about two, putting the Amen to flight the

armies of the enemy. Amen.

I just appreciate the pastor, Amen, and the pastor's wife,

our first lady.

Amen. I did miss them terribly. Amen. They've just been

wonderful examples to all of us. Have anything. Amen.

I've just seen the Lord move through their life and

then moving the will of the Lord for my whole life. Really,

I've just watched God orchestra eight things and just lay

things out and them just fall in step right with

the Lord.

And I just appreciate that, and I just I look up.

To them and I just honor them and I thank

them for all that they have done for the Bethel

hole in his church, don't you amen?

I love them and I miss them. I'm looking forward

to what God's gonna do tonight, Ain't you? Amen? Would

The book of First Samuel, chapter number thirty. I feel

like the Lord laid something on my heart. Amen, for

Would you read First Samuel twenty seven, verse number one

through three, Brother Samuel. Chapter number twenty eight is the

same book.

Verses one through two. Brother Dathaniel, Chapter number twenty nine

Amen, We're gonna read that chapter twenty seven, Chapter twenty eight,

Chapter twenty nine. In chapter thirty, Amen, Brother Caleb, what'd

And David said in his heart, I shall now perish

one day by.

The hand of Saul.

There is nothing better for me than that I should

speedily escape.

Into the land of the Philistines.

And Saul shall despair of me to see me anymore

So David has ran to the Philistines. And now the

Philistines have come upon a time when they are.

To fight with Israel and Aikish, and we'll probably everywhere.

I know what he can do. I've seen him, ay Man,

Now, the Philistines gathered together all their armies to Aphex

and the lords of the Philistines passed by, passed on

by hundreds and by thousands, but David and his men

passed on in the rear word with Akish.

So David here is going out to battle with Akish. Amen,

Lifted up their voices and wept until they had no

more power to weave. So David runs to the Philistines

for fear of song. David joins there with with with

aphex I mean not a.

He joins there.

With Akish in the Philistines to go against the Israelites

in battle. If the Philistine warlord didn't trust David like

Aikish did.

So they sent him home.

And whenever David came back from from that, from that

that battle plan, if you will he come back to

The mercenaries mistake.

Amen, would you lift your hands at here and ask

God to help us.

Lord, We thank you so much for your goodness.

Your mercy, for your grace and your kindness. Lord, we

thank you for all that you have done for us. Oh,

we thank you for this day that you had made. God,

we thank you for each service.

That we had been in. Today. We thank you for

God, we asked that you and will would continue to

be made to this point. God, would just continue on

through this service. God, we thank you right now. Would

you annoint your herd? God, would you help us to

deliver all that you would help us to deliver? God,

help us say what I should say, Help us do

what we should do. God, let it change our hearts

and change our lives. God, we would give you all

the glory, all of the honor, and all of.

Thank you for standing from the reading of the Word

of God.

Our text here tonight has inserted us right into the

middle of one of the nation of.

Israel's most pivotal moments.

The Bible readers among us know the context and the

content of the chapters that we had began to read

this evening. David off after trusting God for protection so

many times.

After David had slew a bear by the power of God.

After David had slew a lion by the power of God,

had slewed the lion by the power of God. We

seem here in this place, here tonight, that his faith

somewhat begins to falter. And after all that he has

seen God do through all this time, he see resigns.

To the fact. In chapter number twenty seven, where the

calibreddit and David said in his heart, I shall now

perish one day by the hand saw. After all that

I've seen God do, I'm gonna one day, Saul's gonna

get me. One day.

God's not gonna be there. One day, God's not gonna

be enough. That's what David set in his heart. After

David had seen everything that God had done for him, after.

God had protected him from the hand of Saul so.

Many times, there came a time in David's life when

he said, I will perish by the I can't go

no more.

I don't see how God can help me in this

situation anymore. I just resigned to the.

Fact that one day it's gonna get me. One day,

Saul's gonna best me, and he's gonna catch me. Whenever

I got expected. And then after all the things that

David had seen, after David had seen God's protecting power,

he finds himself in a hopeless mindset.

He finds himself.

Where he don't see how God could protect him anymore.

I guess because he said, Saul's gonna get me.

David does he.

Completely unimaginable, the completely unimaginable, and he joins himself and

his body men to the Philistines. He runs hey from

there where he's at, and he runs.

Into Gaff, and he runs there into.

Anchish, who he had narrowly escaped from previously. Y'all remember

when David spin on his beard and he made himself

mad and he escaped from Achus. This is the very king.

David had already escaped once from this king. And now

when he gets into this place, he runs back to

the same place that he is so narrowly escaped.

bewildered at the fact that David never prayed the Bible,

never Princess David prayed about this decision, because I really

believe if David would have sought God and he would.

Stop for just a minute and said God, I feel hopeless.

I don't see how this can go any better.

Hey, you've hit me so many times, but now I

just don't see the norm. Oh, I seize a Deadian.

But David was known for inquiring of God. Bet are

many times throughout scripture you can see where David inquired

of God, what shall I do in this situation? Okay, God,

now you've helped me here? Now what shall I do

in this situation? But something about this time in David's mindset,

he never asked God what should I do? He never

took time to sup and pray and say God, what

should I go?

Right here? He never inquired of God for his direction

during this time of his life.

Just as instant David leaned into his own understanding, David

leaning too his.

Own We all look what he wanted to do.

And what he thought was due David, what he thought

was good to do. David was a great general. He

was a mighty warrior, Daven. But he made I really

he made a bad mistake here by not asking.

God what he should do, and he also made a terrible.

Mistake, hey, by joining himself to the Philistines.

What are you doing, David.

You've not been a battle with these guys before, and

now you're going to make confinity with the same people.

That you used to saying years what are you doing, David?

David no longer felt safe or protected in the place

that he caught home, so he resorted to the Philistines.

Israel was David's homeland. It was the land of his kindred.

He was the land he grew up here. He was

the land that you would suppose that he felt most

at home in.

It was he would think he would feel.

This safe in this home and in this town that

I grew up in, this country that.

I grew up in. But became a time.

Whatever saw managed to turn the armies of the Israelites

against God's man, against God's chosen man, against.

The chosen king of Israel.

One man got in the middle of it, and he

turned the armies against God's man.

God's people should never find and Israel.

Was God's chosen people, God's people should never find themselves

fighting against God's man.

Saul took Israel, that nation that God had chosen in

one man.

Turned the people that God had chosen completely against the

man of God that was annoyed and ordained by God

to lead his people. You tell me a man can't

get in the way of God. Israel was supposed to

be God's people. They were supposed to be set apart.

They were supposed to be dedicated to God, consecrated to God,

a holy people. So why is God's man no longer

welcomed among the people that are supposed to be holy, dedicated,

and consecrated. I've seen it beforehead as you. I've seen

places that call themsel all in his churches. But the

man of God's not welcomed. Is supposed to be God's people,

supposed to be a holy people. But they that's not

welcomed and very annoyted of God. The man that carried

the vision of the people of God, he's not welcomed.

What has saw done?

We're the man of God don't even feel welcome in

his own homeland.

Someone is making what should be a land of God's blessing.

Someone's making a place of blessings a place of caursings

and hatred for God's plan. I've seen pastors and preachers

that took a beautiful church, and they took holiness people,

and they took set aside in consecrated trouble, and they've

got in the middle of things. And then holiness is

not all the welcome. What are you doing, Saul. You

lose to stand for holiness, you lose to stand for righteousness.

And now the Truman of God don't even feel welcome.

The Truman of God to eve to come into your

presence without fearing, then get a dagger in their back.

Saul turned the people of Israel against the true plan

of Israel's future.

David was hand picked by God just as Saul was Dave.

It's calling is just as powerful as Saul's was. What

Saul knew that this kingdom had been.

Writ from him, and it had been took it from him,

and had been given to another, and had been.

Given to David, and.

Saw God jealous, and he turned the people against the

man of God.

I've seen people like King Saul here.

Spend their lives trying to turn people against the Man

of God. I've seen people that they feel like they're

calling your life and we're going somewhere tonight. But I've

seen people that feel like they're lot in life. It's

to turn people against God's man of God's plan, and

they try to get people to not concern with people

of God.

But this is amazing to me, for when Saul died,

his life.

Had very little impact on the people, or he didn't

take long and.

Then embraced David as their king.

What Saul had spent his whole life or a good part.

Of his life, should I say.

Fighting against and trying to stop the player of God

in the will of God. Whenever he killed over, David

just went ahead and arose to where God wanted him

in a head, wanted him to be a will I

mean a life spent, A life that is spent fighting

the will of God.

Is a life that has been wasted.

Saul wasted the latter years of his eyes fighting against

David and trying to turn the people of Israel against David.

Whenever he took his lafe bread.

Then said, we know that that's the man that we

should have, and we know that's the.

Anointed of God and that's our king.

Going back to our text, after David gave up hope

to ever see the will of God accomplished in his life.

I believe.

David Hills strong for for a lot of years.

He really, he really.

Believes that God was gonna do it. But he gave

up hope at some point and he said, I'm gonna

die before I see the will of God. I'm gonna

die before I really make it into that place.

That God has promised me.

And he joins Achis the Philistine in the royal city

of Gath.

My my, what an awful place, what an awful time

we never saw. Here's David as went to Gath.

He gives up on y first Samuel, chapter number twenty seventy,

verse number four, and it was told Saul David was

flipped Gath and he saw no war again for him.

Saul already was already ran from the those scenes one time.

He's already sitting in his tent one time. So I

wonder if that was David's hole playing. He knew Saul

wasn't man.

Enough, right, Saul wasn't man enough to face the Philisines,

because David had walked.

In his tent that one day and Saul's knees were

shaken because there was somebody from death standing out front.

There was a giant nin' golia so I kind of

think that it was part of David's thought process. There

he said, Hey, I feel like Saul is gonna get me,

but I know where Saul is scared of going.

I was in that tent that day when he said,

I don't know what to do. My best warriors are scared.

I'm scared too. David said, I was the only one

that was brave enough to take on these people. And

these people know what I did. They remember the stories,

so they're not gonna try me.

And so he goes to cap Gas was one of

the Philistephans main cities. It was one of five I

found out in my studies, one of their five main cities.

It was a pagan lamb.

Nowhere for a man of God to have their his

body men and their families. Gas was no place for

David to be. Gas was no place for David to take.

Those beautiful wives say God getting him into David should

have never stepped foot in death. They worshiped many false God,

the Philistines did. They worshiped idols such as Daygone and

That David, being the man he was, he didn't last

too long. They're in death.

I really believe that that David was grieved time he

walked down the street.

Of death and he heard or he saw that pagan worship.

I really believed that he grins his good heart when

he saw those people bottling down to those false idols.

And he said, Oh God, this is where.

I'm at, This is where my life has come to,

that I have enjoyed myself to such a pupil. A

true believer will not stand to see their children exposed

to false religion and pagan ideologies and lifestyles that are

contrary to the Word of God.

I said. A true believer, a true Christian, a man like.

David, won't stand to see his children.

And his families to such.

Religion, such false religion, and such false worship.

I believe that David was ready to get out of Gath.

I don't think he stayed there too long for my studies.

He was there for a little bit, and he came

up with a good excuse, told Akius a.

Good excuse, and he said, a man just give.

Me a little country town, Give me a little country

tale somewhere here.

Get me out of this hustle and bustle with his paganism.

I gotta get out of here. That even didn't settle

in Gas. He didn't stop there. He ran from Saul,

out of the place that should have been home. He

ran from Saul, out of the place that he no

longer fell welcome at.

But he didn't stop in the halfway house.

He meets with Akis and they agree on a town

in the country, names it.

I can only imagine the excitement. Whatever David and his

mighty men, they start packing up. David came back, Honey,

Today, we don't have to live in this old town anymore.

I don't have to worry.

us a beautiful land. It's right there on the border

of Judah.

He's a little town that's right on the border. Hey,

it's you. I believe in my studies.

I don't have it in my notes, but I believe

it belonged to Judah at one point, and it had

been got overtaken by the Philistines, and and whenever David asked,

asked for a little place, Phela see Ak said, I remember,

there's a little town that's over there, up near close

to Judah, and I want to give that to you.

I want to give you this beautiful place called zi Clad,

and I want you to pack your families, and I

want you to take your mighty men, and I want

y'all to build a life there. I want y'all to

feel safe there. I want you to be on what

you want to build.

And I want you to worship the God now you

want to worship. And I don't want your heart to

be grieved anymore, but I want you to go to

that place in your lives in God.

That's your God that helps you in our battles that

I've seen you fight, and I want him to do please.

Saul was no longer on the hunt, and they were

no longer on the run.

They ended in their lives running from one place to

the next, trying to avoid Saul, trying to avoid death,

trying to avoid.

What David felt like was their short of eyes.

And after all this, they have Sick Lag, the beautiful

sick Crag. But one day Acas comes to David and

he asked him to join him in a battle. And

it's a battle that David had refused to fight. It's

a battle that David had spent many, many years running from.

It was something that David had vowed, I will never do.

I will never fight against Saul, and I will never

fight against.

The Israelites, because in that deep down that's my people.

But I feel like here that I have proved.

Through scripture that David something was off with the mighty

man David. David wasn't thinking right anymore. He had been

through so much, he didn't see so much.

He wasn't thinking right.

And after all the times whenever he had saw in

his grasp Send for Samuel chapter twenty four, David had

an opportunity to kill Saul, but he instead cuts the

skirt of his garment. It's a battle that David refused

to fight. It's a battle that some of David's men said,

God gave you this battle. This is your opportunity, this

is your opportunity to stop this cutting mouse chase. God

gave you this opportunity. But David said, no, it's not

my face to take out the man that God had

annoyed it.

It's not my place.

So what I do is, I'll just take this knife

and I'll cut a little piece.

Of his robe, just so he knows. So if I

wanted you, I'm gonna had you. And you know it.

It's not the only time David refused to fight that

boy will battle for.

Samuel chapter number twenty six. They find himself in the cave.

David takes his his spear.

And it takes his water bottle. If you will, it's

little canister. I believe the Bible called it a monster

or something like that.

I believe.

He refused to fight that battle once again. It's something

that David had vowed in his heart. I will not

be the one to drive.

The spear through saw. I will not be the word

that takes saw out. I will let God work his planning.

God works. But something was different with David whenever.

Acus came and he asked him, and I said, at

the start of this, I don't know if David was

lying to him or deceiving him.

Nevertheless, David found himself in the ranks of the Philistines.

He found himself side by side with the Philistines, fighting.

Against the very thing.

That he said, I will never fight against I will

never go against God's man.

But somehow, and all this.

After he's in sick clag he's got something to prove

to Acus. Oh, Akus, you want my help, you just

stand back. You'll see what I can do. He's got

something to prove. I wonder what changed this time. Wasn't

impatience like we see in the life of Sarah of

Old with Agor and Ismael. Did he think that, like

Sarah of Old, I will hurry the hand of God alone.

God's not working.

Couldn't enough for me?

And I know I can take Saul. I know that

I can take the end of the Philistine the Israelite armies,

and I'll just hurry the plan on God alone. I'll

go ahead and go out with Ankish and I'll destroy

Song and I'll destroy the Intralites and the armies until

they surrender and they join me.

And they joined forces, and I'll become king. Was that

his plan? I don't know.

Was it fear of Akish that he would not be

This time he chose to fight in the.

Battle against Saul and against the Israelites. David, it is

I know you trust David.

I know you've spent quite a bit of time with

him and you trust him. But we don't trust him.

We want him to go home. We want him to

go back where he came from and let us fight

our battles.

They require him to go.

I've grew up on church pews, and I've seen a

lifetime of pastors and evangelists and lay members that have

begun became so focused on thinking that they were helping

someone else.

They even thought he was playing and smart David thought

he had all figured out and I was just going

with Akish. But in the middle of.

Going with Akish, he left his family and and he

didn't need anybody.

To defend sick life.

What a tragedy when we skip, when we see people

get so distracted in their lives.

They've let so many.

Things the bahu in air mind that they forget that

sit why act needs to be protected.

Our families and.

Our children require us to protect them and the fights

for them. I've seen preachers that are so intent on

becoming somebody.

They're so intent on proving to some philistine of a

pastor like Hanks that they can do.

So you just sit back, pastor, and you watch me work.

And they're so focused on proven the anxious that they

can fight. They proven the agius what they can do,

that they left their little children, and they let their

families be completely unguarded in six Macs, and they go

into places that they said they never go in, and

they go into places that they said they didn't get it,

they didn't agree with, and all because they want to

live up to.

Some persona that I'm a preacher and I've got something

to prove, and I let my little children being me

be exposed to those filthy levels that came in on

the background.

They came in while you're messing with the philistine, and

they halt their children off in their minds, and they

burked on city, everything you fall far, everything you lived

your life feeling for that place that used to be

so beautiful, and you can feel the presence of God

in that family.

And now you want.

To take your kids and you want to leave them

in a place like six Lads, completely unguarded.

Oh, because.

You want to play politics with Akish. You want to

play politics with the philistine of a pastor, and you're

letting that beautiful family that God has given you, and

you're exposing them to the evil of this.

World and to the evil of the Amalekites.

Because you've got something to prove, because you want to

show up somebody.

I can do it too. I can go into those

places that I used to stand against.

And you subject your children of that, and you subject

your family of that, and they're.

Unguarded, and you just glove and you just grab it

all in.

And you say, all this is just a mighty wonderful

move of God. And you know that people in there,

they're singing.

And there's people that are shouting among you, that are

living right, and you're just saying, oh, I really needed that.

I don't need no achish to prove that I'm a warrior.

I don't need no a fellowsy or a pastor. So

I can feel like I know our preach.

I refuse to let.

Our family stand say clad unguarded, and I pret.

That he was now living well, David fault against the Philo.

But now we find David playing their same game. You're

playing with the same foolishness. That's you what stood against

pastors and preachers? Who's the preacher against Saics? And they
