-
He's talking about them carrotcake bites. It was the hugest
-
bite I ever saw in my life. It was the
-
hugest piece of carcakes. But I thoroughly enjoyed it. It's
-
one of my favorites. In the House of God is
-
one of my favorites. Y'all help us sing if you know.
-
I would like to say, I think the Lord also.
-
I think the Lord also for what he's done for
-
us since we've been here.
-
I feel like I would.
-
Be remiss and not praising him for the way that
-
he's helped us. We were here in July last year,
-
and since then my dad had a major stroke. We
-
were living in the home with them as caregivers, and
-
I ended up in the hospital in March. And it's
-
just been like a roller coaster, Brother Jeremy, up and down,
-
up and down. But God, in his mercy, has brought
-
us to this point. And I felt during that time
-
that I was spending so much time in the hospital
-
and now and back and all that I felt God
-
as close or closer than I ever remember feeling.
-
That.
-
I remember I've told this different times at different places
-
we've been, but it's part of it that stood out
-
to me.
-
One morning they.
-
Had taken me down to do a test, and I
-
was on the gurney that they took me down on,
-
just they had taken me into the room where the
-
test was to be done, and they had all walked out,
-
and just laying there, I began to just quietly talk
-
to the Lord. I don't even remember the words I said,
-
but it was.
-
Very few, and the holy ghosts settled with me right
-
there on that gurney.
-
I didn't know what the test was gonna be. I
-
didn't know what it was gonna show. That God showed me.
-
I'm still right here, and he's been there every step
-
of the way, and he's promised he'd never leave us.
-
So I know the past is a promise that I'll
-
have all I need for the future.
-
I am just too weary, but.
-
I haven't ever read I long with a word. That's harmer.
-
For me, that's farmer, army. It be believe me.
-
Saturdays that's hard.
-

-
And my hardest speak so and I so on.
-

-
and I never wasn't.
-
That's harmy.
-

-
For me. If you leave me through the valleys, take
-

-
getting me and I'm wearing on my jerk.

-
a child from my space.

-
the burn. That's fine.
-
Warning, appreciate the Lord.
-
Aye, I'm so glad to get to be back in
-
the house of God, right, says to God.
-
So glad for all that God has done, h every
-
time that he has moved. And UH thought, I've been
-
dealing with uh little heart issue, brother, howel I thought
-
about it just a little bit earlier, and uh, some
-
papitations or something. I'm not sure what all they are.
-
And uh, he explained it to me like this, said
-
your heart beats like thum thum thum dun and said
-
one part of your heart will beat and the other
-
one will be slow to beat. And it just like
-
flutters trying to catch up, trying to get into I thought,
-
we don't need nobody be trying to play catch up tonight.
-
We don't need anybody to be playing catch up tonight.
-
We need to all get on board. We need to
-
all get on board. I've been there when I hung back,
-
and when it was all said and done, I regretted it.
-
I regretted it do need the Lord to help us tonight.
-
As you probably already know, if the Lord don't help us,
-
we ain't gonna do much. But if the Lord will
-
help us, I want to go to clauss Amen, go
-
to classis a second chapter, and I need you to
-
pray for me tonight. I really do need you to
-
pray for me. I want to begin reading in the
-
twentieth verse Classians two and verse twenty. Wherefore, if ye
-
be dead with Christ from the rudiments of the world, why,
-
as though living in the world, ye are subject to ordinance? Ordinances? Said, touch,
-
not taste, not handle, not with all which which all
-
are to perish with the using after the commandments and
-
doctrines of men, which things have indeed a show of
-
wisdom in well worship and humility, and neglecting of the
-
not in any honor to the satisfying of the flesh.
-
Thank you for standing for the reading of the Word
-
of God. Now, he said, wherefore, if you be dead
-
with Christ from the rudiments of the world, the things
-
of the world, why as though living in the world,
-
are you subject to ordinances? Now we're talking about the
-
world here, Okay, he said, touch, not taste, not handle
-
not for all are to perish with the youth, Amen,
-
for all, or to perish with the using. I can
-
look around, and I can see we was at a
-
Holiness fellowship meeting some time ago, and there was a
-
young man there, brother Howl, that had touched the world
-
a little bit too much, had tasted too much, and
-
had handled too much. This young man, you could tell
-
war a nice cowboy at. I'm not against cowboy ats. Okay,
-
you'll understand what I'm done. But it had this big, old, big,
-
old round silver belt buckle. He had on those fancy
-
cowboy boots, and he was into horses, and he was
-
into things he didn't have no business touching. Mamma and
-
Daddy had let him touch too much, let him tasted
-
too much, let him handle too much of the world.
-
And you know the direction that that young man went.
-
He went the way of the world. Ah Man, But
-
I would like to watch myself. I wouldn't like to
-
be careful, Amen. I don't want to amen touch anything.
-
Amen.
-
Let me move on just a little bit before I
-
get ahead of myself. I want to go to Proverbs
-
six chapter ay Man, very familiar scripture to us.
-
All, Amen.
-
He told us. There these six things death, the Lord
-
I hate you ain't seven of aurbomination unto him.
-
A proud look, a lying tongue, hands that shed it
-
in us some blood, and the heart that devised that
-
wicked imagination feed that be swift in running to mischief,
-
a false witness, that speak of lies, and the that's
-
sort discord among the brother.
-
Man.
-
And we are commanded in the word of God, a
-
man touch not, taste, not.
-
Handle not. There are some things and we as a church.
-
As individuals, we have no business touch on. We have
-
no business tasting of handling.
-
Amen. It's easy to get that proud looking Amen. On
-
the very day of Javon's birthday, he was proud. He
-
was proud of that birthday. He told me the night before, said, Daddy,
-
tell everybody to call me birthday boy.
-
And so with.
-
In there doing his Bible, that's his first subject of
-
the day is Bible. Amen. After a while they brought
-
up the word proud, and uh, what was that other word? Son, arrogancy?
-
Proud and arrogancy. Amen, And we looked up the definitions.
-
I said something, You're gonna have to be careful today. Amen.
-
You can swell out your chest and you say birthday, boy,
-
he was proud of that birthday.
-
Hey, ma'am.
-
But Saints, we gotta be careful, ah ma'am. That pride,
-
it'll get you that errogan see, that'll get you. Amen,
-
We've got to be careful. God, I hate a proud look.
-
He hates a proud look, a lying tongue, hands that
-
shed innocent blood, heart that devisesth wicked imaginations. It's easy
-
to let that.
-
Mind, Amen, run away with you.
-
You will imagine people that's saying things about you that
-
they are not saying.
-
Amen.
-
And that'll breef things in yourd Amen. These are things
-
that God, we are not to touch them. Not Nord
-
I touch them, nor.
-
Do I know.
-
Them. Uh glory. Amen's feet that be swift and running
-
to mischief. They like confusion, they like stirring up trouble.
-
We don't need none of that among us. You better
-
not be touching it. A false witness that speaketh lies
-
and he that's sow a discord among the brother Amen,
-
there's that.
-
As a Christian, we have no business touching, no business tasting,
-
no business handling them things.
-
Amen, Uh glory. Amen. We could Amen, go over there,
-
and we could read is the Galatians the fifth chapter.
-
I'm on now the Bible Amen told us over there,
-
Immenlatians five. He began to talk to him. There Now
-
the works of the flesh are manifest, which are the Amen.
-
And I'm sure Pastor Howe could go through here and
-
probably cover these a lot more sufficiently than what I
-
could a man. But adultery for an occasion, uncleanness, lesciviousness, adultry,
-
witx craft, hatred, variance, emulation, wrath, strive, seditions, hair, sees, envians, murders, drunkenness, revelings,
-
ay man, and that goes on and says and such
-
a like, anything that's like them, anything that's God, anything.
-
To do with it.
-
You've got no business to child, You've got no business
-
a man dabbling with them. You've got no business supply, you.
-
Have no business have do anything.
-
With any of these.
-
There's a lot there. It covers a lot in the
-
Bible went through enlisted several things. Paul, did you drunker
-
the tree? Murder? And he said, in such like were
-
some of you h some of us have been there before.
-
But we are redeemed, we've been saved, we've been sanctified.
-
We've been filled with the Holy Ghost. Amen.
-
Any Holy ghost filled individual Amen. Lorder Amen. The mind
-
the dealer of the Holy Ghost, because he is a leader,
-
he is a guide. He will lead us away from
-
these things if we will obey the Holy Ghost.
-
Even those that woudraw themselves. Brother, I may have told
-
you before I appreciate people that draws near to God.
-
But you when you start going the other way and
-
you begin to take on things that the people of
-
God has given up. Hema, come on now, hey man,
-
we get confused when it comes to sin.
-
Hey maen im personal conviction. Brother, Amen, you cannot label
-
that sin. That's personal convictions and it will take you
-
to hell. Has no excuse for it. But the Bible said, touch,
-
not taste.
-
Not no not. I'm wanting to cover it thoroughly, if
-
that's all right, Amen. But the Bible talk to us
-
and first John, Amen. First John. The second chapter, very
-
very familiar scripture. Or okay mm hmm. He said, love
-
not the world, neither the things of the world. If
-
any man love the world, the love of the Father
-
is not in him. For all that is in the world,
-
the lust of the flesh, the lust of the Aye.
-
The pride of life is not of the Father, but
-
of the world. And the world pass it away, and
-
the luster any he that doeth the will of.
-
God abide it forever.
-
Amen.
-
Love not the world, neither the fashions of the world,
-
neither the dress of the world.
-
Amen.
-
The our God he is the ho land had a dress.
-
Holy Amen, Sam be.
-
Holy, even as I.
-
Hey, Holy Pastor, this is just the tip of the
-
iceberg when it comes to dealing with the things of
-
the world. And we've got no business touching. Well, is
-
the Bible just a bunch of.
-
Do's and don't? Is that all we got to deal with?
-
A man?
-
No, it's not, hey, man, because there are things that's
-
Christians that we can touch and we can handle, and.
-
We can taste.
-
Amen.
-
Oh, the Bible said a man.
-
He beared out that there wasn't a man things that
-
we could not touch.
-
Her man, there were not some things that we could
-
not taste, and there were things that we can handle.
-
Amen. Amen, Uh Glory Amen. He told us in Matthew Amen,
-
the ninth chapter, Uh Glory to God, Amen. Matthew nine
-
and over there around verse twenty, and behold a woman
-
which was diseased with an issue.
-
Of blood twelve years came behind him and touched him
-
of this garment, and she said within hersell.
-
If I made my touch his garment, the sheall being,
-
may I shall be old.
-
Amen.
-
There are some things that we need to touch, Amen,
-
the power of God, the spirit of God. Amen. And
-
when you get to touch on the things of God,
-
you'll not want to touch the things out the world.
-
I couldn't help but feel tonight that there's still somebody
-
the hell. You may be testing the waters, you may
-
be seeing how far you can go and still hold
-
on to the spirit of God. I believe I'd get
-
away from it. I believe I believe I would run
-
from it. The Bible told us over there and acts hemen,
-
very familiar Scripture acts along about the seventeenth chapter and
-
the twenty seventh verse. Hemen. He told us over there, Amen.
-
The Church of Athens, Amen, was worshiping gods that they
-
didn't even know who they was, and Paul was trying
-
to demonish them. Amen, you're trying to touch the wrong thing.
-
You're going in the wrong direction.
-
Amen.
-
As he begin to try to teach them, twenty seventh
-
verse said that they should seek the Lord.
-
Amen.
-
Is that what they brought out a Friday night about
-
seeking the Lord? Amen, that they should seek the Lord
-
if happily they might. I feel after him and find him,
-
though he be not.
-
Far from Amen, far from every one of us.
-
Amen. What are you trying to do?
-
Why don't you want to feel?
-
Amen?
-
Tired away from the.
-
World, ride to God or something as the people of God.
-
We areny tuck touch.
-
But in the same sentence, there are things you don't
-
need to touch. Help us God, oh loords. Amen, Amen,
-
let me move on. I want to go over to
-
Psalms thirty four, Hen lor rid of the lamb of God. Amen.
-
Psalms thirty four. The Word of God talked to us there. Amen.
-
I could read a lot more than what I have. Mark.
-
I shouldn't worry about preaching too.
-
Long, Amen, seeing your pastor Amen, glory, that's all right,
-
ain't it? Amen? But the Bible Amen told us in
-
verse A old taste and see that the Lord is good.
-
Blessed is the.
-
Man that's rest o year him. He's a beckon that
-
somebody taste the Lord tonight. Just get your little taste,
-
get a little feel, not the glory of God, of
-
the power of God.
-
I know you already fool. Well, everybody may not be.
-
It's a good taste when the power of God comes.
-
But will you said idly by and let the power
-
of God move and you not get in there with it? Hemen,
-
don't find yourself just a step behind, Amen, and find
-
yourself back there just a flutter and trying to get
-
caught up.
-
Amen. But if you stay amen with that, Amen, God
-
will help you.
-
Amen.
-
Leave the world alone. Don't touch chad, don't taste that.
-
Don't end on the world all.
-
Then I get you in trouble and I'll drive you
-
out of.
-
God heym Amen, Uh, Praise God, Praise God. Isaiah. Amen.
-
Seventh chapter Isaiah, seventh chapter. Hell. Just stay away from
-
the world. Hell do I'm not desire the world? Seventh
-
chapter long about Amen. The fourteenth verse, the Bible told us,
-
Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign. Behold,
-
a virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and shall
-
call his name e Manuel God with us butter and
-
the honey.
-
Shall he eat, that he may know to refuse the
-
evil and to choose the good.
-
For before the child shall know to refuse evil.
-
And choose the good.
-
The lamb that shall that thou horse shall be for saken,
-
got a boat her kings.
-
Aymen, how do we do it? Aymen? Need the butter
-
and need the.
-
Honey, and you won't want it, you won't desire. Ay man,
-
The Lord is good, the Lord, I laughed.
-
You get old.
-
Of God?
-
Yet a taste of the Lord. Oh, taste and see.
-
That the Lord is good. But you know, it's a
-
lot harder to touch an individual that has tasted it
-
and is moving away then somebody that has never tasted
-
it and come towards God. I got a lot of
-
places in our travels through the years, and I have
-
gone places. Brother, how that was true? Holiness people no jewelry,
-
long dresses on the ladies. You know, you could just
-
go down through the list. But they have moved. They
-
have moved away from holiness.
-
They ain't changed their name.
-
They still got the title. But when you step in
-
chice side the church, they have lost it. They have
-
lost it.
-
Taste, not handle, not.
-
A But if you're hungry and you're thirsty.
-
There are things that you can taste, and.
-
You can get older and you can feel after Amen,
-
and he will.
-
Work is good.
-
It is.
-
Good.
-
Amen, handle it. You can touch it if you want to.
-
You can touch it if you want to. Uh huh,
-
come on, now, I've seen them, brother, when they got
-
serious enough, When they got serious enough, I mean they
-
had made the statement over and over, I'm doing everything
-
I know to do. I'm doing everything I know to do.
-
But when they got serious enough, they come out of there.
-
With the power of God all over army.
-
It was like the man that they asked Hell a
-
long they just seek for the Holy Ghost?
-
He said, about fifteen minutes. They're going to ever camp meeting.
-
He could think of across the country trying to get
-
the Holy Ghost, and he finally got it. They said,
-
how long? Did about fifteen minutes? Wouldn't that be good?
-
Wouldn't that be good? She hit that altar in about
-
fifteen minutes. There's some people can't seek God five minutes.
-
But it's the taste, it's the touch. Man. Did you
-
know that touch goes both ways. I feel that when
-
God touches you. Amen. But you can touch God.
-
There's a way. Amen.
-
It's good to the taste.
-
Oh but the Bible, Amen, talk to us and first John, Amen,
-
First John. Back there, he on the in the amen.
-
First chapter, Oh Glory, Amen, Amen. First John, the first
-
chapter Emen, and he told us Amen. There in the
-
first verse, Oh to God, he said, that which was
-
from the which we have I heard, which we have
-
seen with our eyes, we have looked upon. In our hands,
-
I have a handle own the word of life. For
-
the light was manifested, and we have seen it.
-
And we bear wetness and show unto you that eternal
-
life which was with the Father was manifested.
-
Unto you, that which we have seen and heard. Declare
-
we unto you that.
-
Ye also may have fellowship with us. And truly our
-
fellowship is with the Father and with it Son Jesus Christ.
-
And these things right we under you, Amen, that your
-
joy may be fool. What has what was heard, seen
-
and touched?
-
Amen?
-
Get old of God, Get hold of that world.
-
You can experience the same things the apostles had.
-
You can experience the same thing that.
-
All of our churches I have had, the brow a
-
miracles and wonders and blessings.
-
I'm not gonna lie to you. There's things you better
-
stay away from. You better not have anything to do
-
with them, because the Bible said touch, not taste not
-
and a hand or not. But that's not the end
-
of it. Saints. There are so much more that we
-
can have and we can obtain from God. King Saul
-
had been slain, Jonathan and his brothers have been slain.
-
Word got back to David. Was he thrilled, was he rejoicing?
-
He was burdened, and he was troubled. He was a
-
weeping And it sounds to me like while he was
-
a weeping, and while he was a crime and.
-
A prayer, he bade Judah to teach them the use
-
of the boat, teach them. I thought, God, help me
-
to teach my son.
-
The power of this word right here, the power that
-
is in it.
-
Able to save a man to turn a black heart white. Amen,
-
a man of God or woman of God that can get.
-
Hold of the Lord and cause the Lord.
-
To move and deal with their sons and their daughters,
-
that they could come to the gospel Lord him and
-
feed him the butter, and they that he would know
-
to do God.
-
And not evil. Times we feel like we're fighting and
-
losing battle. But I know that there's power. There's power
-
in prayer, there's power in worship. The Word of God
-
is sharper than any two edged sword. Javon asked me
-
some time ago, said, Daddy is a sored of two edges,
-
sword sharp on both sides. I said, yes, sir, it'll
-
cut going and it'll cut coming.
-
Man.
-
But the word of God is powerful sharper than any
-
two edged sword. Amen to the discerning of the heart
-
in the mind. Amen, old turn over there and read it. Amen.
-
But I know God he is able to do. One
-
needs to be die. Amen.
-
You may look like you're testing some waters, but I'm
-
gonna tell you tonight, putting the under your testing the water, and.
-
Just all by God live holding us, do right, heed
-
the butter.
-
He died, taste.
-
Got my spirit, had a power of God, and I'll
-
do you a world of good.
-
It'll do you a world of good. It tears my
-
heart to see people turn and run from God when
-
they need to be draw closer to God. The only
-
way to Christ is through the Cross, not that cross,
-
but the Cross of Salvation. That load can be laid down,
-
that battle mind can be fixed. Oh to know how
-
to handle that word of God. I please did the
-
blood before because of things that we have dealt with.
-
I beg God, and I beg the Son of God
-
not only to help me, but to help my wife
-
and to help my son. The devil wants nothing better
-
than to snare you. It don't matter how many excuses
-
you come up with. It don't matter how many excuses
-
you can, you know, write down on piece of paper.
-
My wife really likes to play the little game. You
-
write down a word, You see how many words you
-
can get out of that word. We ain't looking to
-
see how many excuses we can come up with, Saints.
-
That is not where we're at. Our heart ought to
-
be longing and woning to obey God. If it's wrong God,
-
I'm ready to get rid of it.
-
If it's a hold of me back God, and that's
-
why we got me back there in the shadows.
-
I am ready and willing.
-
To come out.
-
I've been carrying this message for a while and God
-
knows I hell, but I'm telling you to night. You
-
can a man touch the spirit of God. You call
-
days and.
-
You can I hand all that word and that power.
-
The spirit of God, God is able. I need a song, tony,
-
ay man, I need a song. It's not amen, It's
-
not all about what you can't do. That's not what
-
it's all about. People's got it confused. I work with
-
them on a job and they look at me, and
-
that tell me I can't live the way you live.
-
You ever haven't tell you that I can't live with you.
-
Then I told him I couldn't do it either. But
-
when I went to the altar and the Lord saved
-
my soul, I didn't want to cuss no more. I
-
didn't want no more dope. I throw my cigarettes out
-
the window and my tobacco along with it. I didn't
-
want it no more. I had already been touched. I
-
had already been touched. I had already got a taste. Brother, Tim,
-
you didn't have no battle. I was sure I had
-
a battle. I wasn't about two weeks empty and ash
-
trays and burning trash in my house because I had
-
a daddy that was lost. What about two weeks avoiding
-
a television because my daddy was lost and had one
-
in the house. But along with about that second week
-
in the house of God, the power of God failed
-
and the Lord sanctified me Holy, I didn't have tempty
-
no more ass trays didn't bother me. Brother, I didn't
-
want nothing. It made me sick. I just walked right.
-
I don't buy that tail. It didn't bother me no more. Why. Yeah,
-
I was raised in the House of God all my life,
-
as a child, you know, as a baby, about two
-
years old. Maybe Mama was going before I was born.
-
I can't remember for it, sure it seemed like that's
-
the way it was.
-
All my life.
-
But I would taste.
-
The world.
-
I would handle the world, and every time I did,
-
I got snared. But God help me to learn. You
-
don't give into it. You still away from it. You
-
don't get the devil no chance if you have tried
-
it before. I've had them to tell me. I've walked
-
in in prisons, behind death's door, and I visited with
-
those git people in jails sail to sell, and I've
-
had don't tell me over and over it don't work.
-
I told him, I said, look at me. I said,
-
you really get a hold of God and you really
-
get saved and it works. Look at this church. Look
-
at this church, brother, it works, don't it. Brother? Would
-
you like to get a feel of God tonight and
-
your heart and life? You say, well, brother, I him before,
-
would you like to get a real good feel, a
-
little taste goes a long way, but when you get
-
a little taste, you're gonna want a big taste. That's
-
just the way God works. And once you get a taste,
-
you get a hold of that word of God, and
-
you handle that word. You read that word, and you
-
let God deal with your heart. Stand with us tonight.
-
I was hoping we'll be shouting by this time, but
-
I feel like God is wanting to deal with a heart.
-
He is wanting to draw a heart tonight. You may
-
be someone that's been here for several years, and you
-
may be someone that's not been here very long. But
-
God laid this message on my heart for somebody. We
-
walked in features and brother House say can you smell it?
-
He said, won't be long, we'll be tasting it. It
-
was good, but it's nothing compared to what we have
-
in thes of God. What about you tonight? What about you?
-
Is there something better than you tonight that you'd just
-
like to get a little taste or a little feetable creature.
-
You may want a big taste or God's got whatever
-
you're needing tonight. But I'm very concerned about those that
-
have done better and now they're letting things slip in
-
on them. I'm real concerned. You've got no business taste
-
another world, nothing whatsoever. You got no business touch in
-
the world. But would you let God draw you tonight
-
saying yeah, he would you like to come?
-
You're fine, it's not.
-
Would you like to come?
-
And just.
-
Another chance.
-
He's be.
-
You, y'all, another opportunity.
-
Soon to draw your hard real.
-
And just lors she.
-
When you like to come to that.
-
Reach and touch the loves.
-
