  1. Second Chronicles, Chapter number twenty, Verse number three, Praise the Lord,

  2. Brother Nathaniel, First Samuel, chapter number seventeen and verse number forty.

  3. Brother Jesse James, Chapter number five, verses number sixteen through eighteen,

  4. Brother Nathaniel, would you read that our brother First Samuel,

  5. chapter number seventeen and verse number forty. And he took

  6. his staff in his hand and chose him five smooth

  7. stones out of the brook, and put them in a

  8. shepherd's bag, which he had even.

  9. In a script.

  10. And his sling was in his hand, and he drew

  11. near to the Philistine How many of y'all understand that

  12. the leaders of the Israelite army as well as the

  13. leaders of the Philistine army, were all wondering, what is

  14. this little man going to do with this situation?

  15. I want to preach a message the Holy Ghost titled

  16. what are you going to do about it? Now? I

  17. could tell sister Wooton is all over this tonight. She

  18. can feel it right down in the core of her being.

  19. Brother Jesse James, Chapter number five, verses number sixteen through eighteen. Brother,

  20. confess your faults one to another, and pray one for

  21. another that she may be healed. That the effectual, fervent

  22. prayer of a righteous man availeth much. Elias was a

  23. man subject to like passions as we are, And he

  24. prayed earnestly that it might not rain, And it rained

  25. not on the earth by the space of three years

  26. and six months. And he prayed again, and the heavens

  27. gave rain, and the.

  28. Earth brought forth her fruit.

  29. Brethren, if any of you do err from the truth,

  30. and one convert him, let him know that he which

  31. converteth the sinner from the air of his ways shall

  32. save a soul from death, and shall hide a multitude

  33. of sins.

  34. Praise the Lord.

  35. Let's stand for the reading of our golden text, Second Chronicle,

  36. chapter number twenty, verse number three. The Bible says, in

  37. Jehasafat feared and set himself to seek the Lord and

  38. proclaim to fast throughout all Judah. Our mental outline will

  39. be this, you must set yourself to seek the Lord,

  40. and then and only after then can you ask others

  41. to join you in that effort. You yourself must first

  42. be willing to do it yourself, if that's what God

  43. or the situation requires.

  44. Again.

  45. Looking at verse number three, and Jehasifat feared and set

  46. himself to seek the Lord and proclaimed a fast throughout

  47. all Judah. Notice that part set himself to seek the Lord.

  48. Mama can't do it for you. Daddy can't do it

  49. for you. The pastor and the first lady cannot do

  50. it for you. We cannot do it for you. Again,

  51. I want to preach a message the Holy Ghost titled

  52. oh yeah, what are you going to do about it?

  53. It's on you on it.

  54. It's your responsibility to do something about your situation. Let's pray,

  55. Heavenly Father, we love and we praise you. We thank

  56. you for the opportunity to come in your house tonight.

  57. We pray that you would annoyt this Thy servant set

  58. a guard at my mouth and helped me to say

  59. the things that you would have me to say, nothing

  60. more or less annoint the ears of this thy precious people,

  61. that they might hear what the Spirit of God is

  62. said under this church tonight through the preach word, through

  63. your word, not of my words, but of your words.

  64. We pray, let these sayings go below the shoulders, that

  65. them saturate the spirit and the soul of each person.

  66. We pray, and may we depart this place joyfully and

  67. not sorrowfully in Jesus' name in the church said hey, man,

  68. as you're being seen, look at your neighbors sitting there

  69. next to you and say, hey, neighbor, what are you

  70. going to do about it? Reply with this, Oh, you

  71. just wait and see. Our text is found in an

  72. Old Testament book of the Holy Bible. The Book of

  73. Second Chronicles is another book of the Bible that is

  74. chalk full of content. It's one of sixty six books

  75. of the Bible. At the fingertips of every minister in

  76. this building tonight, the Bible character before us tonight is

  77. Jehasha Fat, a man who found himself in control of

  78. one of the greatest nations on the face of the earth.

  79. There's a lot of you in this building tonight that

  80. would be the first to volunteer to take the kingship

  81. of any country, whether large or small. The reason you

  82. would volunteer for such a duty or task or undertaking

  83. is that is because of the benefits of being being

  84. a dignitary person of such interest. I have no desire

  85. whatsoever to be king of any country. I have no

  86. desire whatsoever to be a dictator of any people. In

  87. high school I was a student of science. I was

  88. telling Sister Howell recently that all through school I was

  89. able to maintain a ninety seven to a one hundred

  90. grade in science. On up into my senior year of

  91. high school. The chemistry teacher told me he had seen

  92. nothing like it before. He was probably about fifty years

  93. of age when he told me that. He said, I've

  94. never seen anybody pass this particular test. Was such an

  95. understanding as to what I'm trying to convey to the students,

  96. as you have done this day, he said, a record

  97. has been set in my time of education in the

  98. subject of chemistry. I had a passion for chemistry, a

  99. passion for physics, also a passion for social studies, for economics,

  100. for national and world history. There was a passion there.

  101. I wasn't altogether fond of math. I did pretty good

  102. in that, maintain probably about a ninety two to grade

  103. point there. But Brother Caleb, I was very fascinated with

  104. science and with social studies, and going through high school.

  105. Those that knew me, my closest friends, and my contemporaries

  106. and peers, they all knew that my life goal was

  107. to be the vice president of the United States. And

  108. a lot of people would ask me, why do you

  109. want to get involved with politics, And if you want

  110. to get involved in politics, why not set to bar high?

  111. Why not try to achieve unto the president of the

  112. United States? People would wonder why in the world would

  113. this man be willing to be second in command or

  114. assistant to the president. That's because even way back then,

  115. I could tell Brother Jesse that those men had.

  116. The weight of the world upon their.

  117. Shoulders, even a great apostle like the Great Apostle Paul,

  118. although he was a possessor of so many great and wonderful,

  119. supernatural and spiritual gifts, he admitted that he carried upon

  120. himself the weight of the churches, and no doubt, if

  121. it was not for the goodness and the grace of God,

  122. it would have been an unbearable burden to bear, but

  123. he buried it graciously. I have heard people talk about

  124. how the president how the United States goes into office

  125. with colored hair and they leave after a four year

  126. term with bleached hair. I remember watching Barack Obama enter

  127. office black headed amen and he left office silver headed.

  128. There are a lot of things involved with the presidency

  129. of the United States or involved with the presidency of

  130. a business. There's a lot of people dreaming, denyed of

  131. being chief executive officer of a certain business. There's people

  132. that are envious of Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos as

  133. a president or CEO of mighty empires. But Brother Nathaniel,

  134. I am not coboctous at all for the presidency of

  135. any any great man.

  136. Are y'all listening to me here?

  137. But for whatever reason, Jehoshaphat finds himself with a right pedigree,

  138. in the right lineage, and he finds himself being the

  139. King of Judah.

  140. I know it had its benefits.

  141. I know the Prophet Samuel told King Saul of all

  142. that would be at his fingertips as the king of

  143. the United Unified Nation of Israel. But along with that

  144. title came a target. I want to preach to you alone.

  145. With that title came a target. And we find that

  146. this young man Jahasipath, like King Sauw, understood, if I'm

  147. gonna be in the highest seat, if I'm gonna sit

  148. in the king seat, then there's going to.

  149. Be a huge target on my back.

  150. For every person that loves me, there'll be a thousand

  151. that despises me, come on now. I remember talking to

  152. Sister Wooton's mother about eighteen and a half years ago,

  153. and she was telling me that the moment a person

  154. declares themselves to be a Christian, the moment they profess

  155. to be a child of God, is the moment that

  156. they are marked and the world holds them to a

  157. higher standard. It's in that moment they are watched. It's

  158. in that moment they aren't judge. And I want to

  159. tell every child of God him this building tonight, you

  160. are a marked person. I started to ask Sister Roguecap

  161. to make me a target that we could post on

  162. the back of her husband tonight. As I preach, brother

  163. justin rope Cap, you are a professing and a practicing Christian,

  164. and you are a possessor of Christ.

  165. Brother rod Cap, I know from being an eye.

  166. Witness that the Lord Jesus Christ lives inside of you.

  167. But you have a target on your back.

  168. So to speak, my brother, brother rope Cap, King jah

  169. Ysapatham knows all about that.

  170. In fact, the.

  171. Bible readers and students present to not could speak of

  172. the time when three nations attacked King Johasapatum and his nation.

  173. Mom and Dad, I want to tell you the moment

  174. you joined together in the holy matrimony, the moment you

  175. said I do. You did put a target on your back.

  176. You put a target on your marriage. You put a

  177. target on your home, on your family, and on your children.

  178. Brother Jeremy, you mean to tell me eighteen and a

  179. half years ago, when you ventured him in the South

  180. Florida and attempted to revive and resurrect to work that

  181. have been done in that area, you got a.

  182. Target put on your back.

  183. Oh yes, Sister Wooton, Sister Ham, and Sister Walcome and

  184. Sister Howell could tell you just how much I was

  185. Watch has a holiness man, And I want to tell

  186. some of you here tonight. You seem to find it

  187. strange that you would have a target seemingly on your back,

  188. or that the devil would know your name or your

  189. low cow, or that the devil would have an.

  190. Interesting in you.

  191. Before you flatter yourself with the thought of the devil

  192. being desirous to molest your soul and to take you

  193. into the lowest regions of the damn. Let me tell

  194. you it is no badge. Up, honor, I said, it

  195. is no badge.

  196. Up honor.

  197. It is something that should be taking the nurse Humbli

  198. and mercy seriously. I see a lot of men assend

  199. up on the platform and take a place of position

  200. and man the pool pitch, and as pastor, they occupy

  201. our habit to the pastoral dwelling known as the parsonage.

  202. But when it comes to taking the fiery darts of

  203. the wicked one, they are unwilling to take those fiery

  204. darts in the torso or in the back.

  205. If you'll pray for me, I'll try to preach to.

  206. You here tonight as the holy ghost of leeds and

  207. guides you.

  208. See.

  209. Ethelene Harris was telling me that basically every person, after

  210. they get up out of an altar, and after the

  211. ruby red blood of Jesus has been applied, they are

  212. subject to being attacked. And so King Jahasafat finds himself

  213. being attacked. I'm sure he probably had some great juice

  214. wine juice in.

  215. The Royal Golden goblet.

  216. I'm sure he had an itinerary that was filled out

  217. for that year. He had probably made no plans whatsoever

  218. for the spontaneous and seemingly sudden attack of the devil

  219. can I tell you that the Devil does not send

  220. anybody a reminder on their calendar of opening appointment of attack.

  221. There is no treaty of war, there are no rules

  222. of war, and there are no guidelines when it comes

  223. to the Devil. Worse than Captain Blackbeard, it's his rules.

  224. Oh come on now, are you listening the night? Are

  225. you just staring at the preacher or are you praying?

  226. I'm talking to some people in this building tonight that's

  227. about to find themselves in trouble. Perhaps have already realize

  228. I'm in trouble. I lost some things that I once

  229. had better than the thing you have preached to us

  230. a couple of weeks ago from the Lost Things chapter,

  231. and he talked about them, the woman that had lost

  232. the coin, He talked about the father that had.

  233. Lost the son.

  234. Can I tell you this past week on Sunday morning,

  235. I talked about David losing some things, and some of

  236. you may have lost the job.

  237. Since I've preached that message, I want you to know

  238. I have not heard of you running the daddy.

  239. I have not heard of you running the mama. But

  240. you can't do that when you're a grown man. You

  241. je Hoscipatha, hurry in the throne, you Je Hoscipath. Wanting

  242. to be a king. You wanted to be your all person.

  243. You wanted to live by your rules, you wanted to

  244. do it your way. And now you've got a target

  245. on your back. You will either falter and fall for succeed.

  246. The confederacy of three national armies let by three great

  247. generals is something to carefuly consider. The confederacy is definitely

  248. concerning to any wise person. But when you look on

  249. the horizon and realize they are marching your way. We

  250. know the Bible said that the devil, as a roaring lion,

  251. goeth about, walking about, seeking whom he may devour. We

  252. know that the thief cometh not but for to kill,

  253. to steal, and to destroy. I want you to know

  254. that this confederate army, of these aligned and allied forces,

  255. Brother Nathaniel, they were not coming to play bingo. They

  256. were not coming to play corn hole. They were not

  257. coming to play chess. They were coming to play more

  258. than marbles for Keipsa. They were coming to destroy. And

  259. Jehasa pat recognized the threat, and Josha Jehassa Pata recognize

  260. he was responsible, and he had to come up with

  261. the solution because if he didn't, their plan of destroying

  262. the Israeliza would be executed.

  263. And FOOLI involved. In just a few moments, Amen, Amen.

  264. I feel the Holy ghost in this place, Sister. The

  265. Holy ghost just reminded me of a story that I

  266. heard some years ago. They said that this certain holy

  267. this woman of a certain denomination of yesteryear when they

  268. lived right she was a praying a woman, she was

  269. a fasting woman. But for whatever reason, her husband decided

  270. to live differently than her, and she chose to take

  271. them kids to Sunday school and to take them to

  272. church time and again until they got old enough to

  273. make their own decisions, to do it their own way.

  274. And one day the old man told his wife, he said,

  275. leave them alone. They're their own man now. They make

  276. their own decisions and life choices. Now that they want

  277. to go to church, let them go to church. That

  278. they don't want to go to church, hey, but don't

  279. make them go to church. And one of them boys

  280. went down to the bar that Sunday afternoon for.

  281. The first time. Long story short, he become an alcoholic.

  282. He would come home and create a ruckus on the

  283. front porch of us little holy roller mama's hoak house.

  284. And you know what, brother Nathaniel, he would swing punches

  285. had his brothers, he would curse act to his sisters.

  286. One day, Mama on the way to church, as she said,

  287. why do you have to be this way? Why do

  288. you have to act like that? And with a Bible

  289. tuck to underarm, she went out to the door and.

  290. Went to church.

  291. Some time went by, and she asked him again the

  292. same question. I'm telling you, stop cursing your sisters on

  293. the front porch of our little cabin, and stop fighting

  294. and generating a ruckus on the front porch of our

  295. little cabin. The Holy Ghost just brought this to mind,

  296. and he said something along these lines, not these words exactly,

  297. but they were a lot like the title hup Tonight's message.

  298. And oh yeah, what are you gonna do about it?

  299. Little mommy? You know what, little mommy did? She pivoted

  300. on her heels. She walked in there with her bedroom

  301. and a little mama that made a weighed one hundred

  302. and fifteen pounds, sopping wed that was no match for

  303. her boy the bully. She got on her knees, and

  304. she prayed. She set herself to pray, and you know

  305. what happened. God saved him and he became a deb

  306. all chasing Oh come on now, holy ghost fire breathing preacher,

  307. because mother could and what there's something about it? Oh yeah,

  308. what are you gonna do about it? One of the

  309. Marquee boys wrote a song. I can pray, there's something

  310. I can do.

  311. You know what.

  312. God didn't ask you to be the pastor of any church,

  313. but you can pray. God didn't ask you to be

  314. the Sunday school superintendent, but you can pray. God didn't

  315. ask you to be the missionary, but you can pray.

  316. Jehosapacha may have been inherited the throne, and you may

  317. not have forecasted, and your wise man may have not

  318. have anticipated the problem, but it's your problem on it.

  319. And the Bible said he set himself to seek the Lord.

  320. And that's what's been on my mind ever since. More

  321. than that, and your preacher in that youth service, you're

  322. still not seeking the Lord. You know what sister holl

  323. And I did when we found out our baby boy

  324. had a rare, very aggressive type of cancer. We set

  325. ourself to pray. We set ourself to pray. It took

  326. more than a sitting in the recliner experience. We had

  327. two good legs and we were able to get down

  328. and pray. The posture and the position of prayer is

  329. very important when you're not disabled, when.

  330. You're well abled body to pray.

  331. You can find in the Bible that men of God

  332. put their head on the ground between their knees. That's

  333. how well abled body they were. And one of them

  334. men was Elijah. In our co text tonight, our brother

  335. said Elijah was a man subject to like passions as

  336. you are, but he prayed, and that's what I preached

  337. on this morning.

  338. That's what made a little bit enough. It's because he

  339. was a praying man. You don't get it, do you.

  340. The Devil's gonna steal your job one right after another.

  341. Until you learn to seek the Lord. Your finances are

  342. gonna go in a bag with horse until you learn

  343. how to seek the Lord. Hey, come on, your employer,

  344. he's gonna continue to be disgruntled with you, and you'll

  345. be a disgruntled employee until you seek the Lord. Well, preacher,

  346. I've been seeking the Lord for three months. We'll seek

  347. him some more. Seek him through sincerity, seek him through humility,

  348. seek him through honesty. Won't wait until the preacher tells

  349. you to seek the Lord. Don't wait until there's tongues,

  350. an interpretation sad for.

  351. You to seek the Lord.

  352. Whenever it has come that far, you've already decided you're

  353. not gonna do anything about it anyway. I remember being

  354. a young man and the place of Sister how and

  355. I dwelled in for such a large family was way

  356. too small. And I went on a four day fast,

  357. a four day fast, drinking only water, working in the shop,

  358. making sure I stayed hydrated, but going through leg cramps

  359. because I refuse to drink a gatorade.

  360. Because I needed to do something about it.

  361. I didn't do something about it because my wife came

  362. to me, as Job's wife did, and said, do something

  363. about this, curse God and die. My wife wasn't threatening

  364. to leave me. My wife wasn't saying anything whatsoever at

  365. all about it to change my mind, to make me

  366. do something. She wasn't trying to motivate me with strawberry

  367. her cheesecake or with German chocolate cake. She was content

  368. to be there. But when my own two wives being

  369. wide open, I could tell that where we was living

  370. was not conducive for a large family. And after four days,

  371. I will never forget it for as long as I live.

  372. I went to a mobile home repole lot, and Brother Jeremiah,

  373. you know a little bit about this now. We walked

  374. in there and talked to a man that said, I

  375. can tell you're serious about this. He said, over there

  376. on the back corner, we just brought it in and

  377. still got people stuff in it.

  378. I will let you have it for what I have

  379. in it.

  380. And I bought a twenty four by fifty double wide

  381. for eight five hundred dollars. I still have the photo

  382. copy of the check in the file in the top

  383. of the clauset, Brother Nathaniel. That was the result afore

  384. day fast. In that youth message, Brother Nathaniel said, we

  385. all know Pastor, when he sets his mind to seek

  386. the Lord, there is nothing or no one that will

  387. get in his way. I hadn't thought about that until

  388. just now, but that's what is said about jehasapat right here.

  389. He set himself to seek the Lord.

  390. I'm asking you, Win, oh Win, will you decide that

  391. you've gotten to do.

  392. Something about it.

  393. Sister Janet Hill, her sister Cindy Neely, as well as

  394. well as sister Vicky Smith up each and every service.

  395. They set themself in.

  396. The direction of label and they drive over an hour.

  397. You know what they do. They put themself up in

  398. that car seat and they drive to the bell. I'm

  399. telling you, put yourself in the sea and tribe to

  400. where God's at. I mean, murmuring and complaining. Is that

  401. gonna get anything done? If all them children of Israel

  402. that were wandering into wilderness, rather than wallowing into sandy

  403. dudes and wandering about in their situation, would have prayed

  404. and sought God, they could have got there a.

  405. Whole lot sooner.

  406. We even sing that song all because everything is not

  407. taken to God in prayer. And so brother Jesse, brother

  408. Jehosaphat realizes, you know what it's gonna be said that

  409. on my watch, while I'm watching over the welfare of

  410. the Israelites, these three combined armies come in and strode

  411. our carcasses on the ground. That's what the devil wants

  412. to do. The Howell family now is about thirty in number.

  413. They tell me, they say, when we're all here, there's

  414. about eighty of us at Bethel. There's thirty howls and

  415. fifty others. I thank God for that. I praise the

  416. Lord for that. I thank God for the other ones

  417. that are moving down. Glory be to Jesus. But you

  418. know what, I feel responsible as your pastor when you're sick.

  419. I feel responsible to pray. I am not walking around

  420. looking for tithe checks or pentecostal handshakes. I feel responsible

  421. to pray because you are supposed to be my sheep.

  422. They're not getting it again, Brother Nathaniel. All I can

  423. tell you is, sister wooting. God's just piling the condemnation

  424. up apparently because they ain't being convicted to seek the Lord.

  425. Y'all know there's a bronze peace back there that has

  426. been set back there for now, for a good little while.

  427. I don't know how long it's been there, sister, How

  428. do you have an estimate of how long it's been there?

  429. Our theme for about a year was the Holy Good

  430. repeatedly through tongues and interpretation, through prophecy, through messages, will

  431. seek me, seek me. There was a reason for that.

  432. There was a reason for that. There is still a

  433. reason for that, and the very weekend that brother Nathaniel

  434. chose to remind you while in that youth service, that

  435. God had said, seek me, seek me with all your heart.

  436. You will seek me and find me when you shall

  437. seek me with all your heart.

  438. Who said that?

  439. The prophet Jeremiah was speaking as the oracle of God.

  440. God was saying through the preacher, the weeping prophet, who

  441. was he crying to? Certainly not a rebellious people. He

  442. was crying because of a rebellious people, unto God. The

  443. truth is, you're boss, you're employer, and Lucifer, they ain't

  444. out for your best interest. If they get somebody to

  445. do your job for two bucks an hour cheaper, they

  446. gonna do it.

  447. Amen.

  448. There's a Haman out there erecting a chop block. There's

  449. a Haman out there erecting a guillotine. There's a Haman

  450. out there erecting a gallows. There's a Haman out there

  451. devising a cunning plan to your demise.

  452. But we just walk through life.

  453. Not supposing that there is a target on your back.

  454. There's a target on your back if you're a holiness preacher,

  455. or if you're a cart pusher at Walmart. There's somebody

  456. wanting your job. If you're a grave digger working for brothers, Jeremiah,

  457. there's somebody wanting your job, y'all ain't getting it. And

  458. you know how we keep the blessings of God. You

  459. know how we receive the blessings of God. You know

  460. how he maintains us. You know how he sustains us

  461. by seeking him.

  462. Are they getting it? Brother start, I'm not so sure.

  463. I hope so their plan was to steal, kill, and destroy.

  464. You walking around with a target on your back, JOHOSSI

  465. fact can tell you it is not a pleasant feeling

  466. or a delightful situation. There's some of you walking nonchal

  467. ootney right now on your tippy toe, saying, well, bless God,

  468. I'm so important. I've got a target on my back.

  469. Will bless God. I've been crowned king today. What a

  470. coronation service. And already in the council chambers of these

  471. three nations there are wise men telling them how to

  472. form a confederacy and overthrow the kingdom of Jehosaphat. It's

  473. altogether frightful. A man of valor, a man of royal dignity,

  474. according to the Bible, said he was fearful, I said,

  475. this morning, Elijah was not fearful. But even this man

  476. who was so frightful prayed this morning. We preached about

  477. Jezebel placing a target on the back of Elijah. We

  478. learned how uncomfortable he was in that situation. Elijah had

  479. something going for him.

  480. And it was this. He was a praying man.

  481. Calling Daddy Mama and telling them about your predicament is

  482. not going to get you help. That's one thing I

  483. told Sister how when we were raising these men, I said,

  484. they're little boys right now. There's not a those brats

  485. right now. But when they turn fifteen, not when they

  486. turn eighteen. When they turn fifteen, they're gonna have to

  487. know how to fix their own problems. And they all know,

  488. they all know they can call me at any time,

  489. any day, any moment, any night. I will be glad

  490. to help them. But they first better have tried to

  491. change that flat tire of themselves. A man, there's a

  492. lot of preaching in this tonight. Should we just dismiss

  493. and go to Kover's brother chip Roy said today, I

  494. love Coverts. You know why these people had to pray

  495. and seek the Lord? You know why Jehoastipat and Elijah

  496. had to pray and seek the Lord because they were flesh,

  497. blood and bone. They were flesh, blood and bone. They

  498. were subject to light passions as we are. But we

  499. know Elijah was an overcomer because he had a prayer life.

  500. What about Jehassipat. He's gotta get one. And I'm telling

  501. some of you in this building, I don't care how

  502. much you've been over there. To fire forward, You've got

  503. to pray sincerely, honestly.

  504. Add to humility.

  505. It was said of D. L. Moody that he was

  506. quite a shoe salesman. Do you know he became a

  507. shoe salesman after he was raised in the home of

  508. a mother that fought tooth and nail for their survival

  509. because whenever him and his siblings were young people, their.

  510. Daddy died young. I come out of the.

  511. Stock of a man named Ormond Dampier who had several

  512. sisters and at the eighth grade, sister Howell, he had

  513. to walk out of the classroom and walk onto a

  514. mullet skiff and start fishing for a living in order

  515. to take care of a mother had some sisters. They

  516. didn't know whether to call him Daddy, her brother.

  517. Oh, I feel the Holy ghost in this place.

  518. Mamma, you spoiled him when you talked to him. A

  519. crown your shoulder. You're not tytswer, Mama, You're not there, Todaddy.

  520. You never will be.

  521. He is really even need to say, if it's not

  522. all for God being on our side, where defeated. Amen,

  523. we're fleshing blood too. We're fleshing blood too. I'm sure

  524. when he heard three armies had joined Affinity and a

  525. confederation of unified troops is on the move and headed

  526. his way, he felt his knees and knocking together. I

  527. told Sister Howell, after passing for about twenty years now,

  528. I can tell, even after them wonderful services, who just

  529. goes through the motions? Who are the camouflage Christians who

  530. put on? And you can tell by the time they

  531. got home, their little stubby fingers is already throwing the

  532. screen up on the cell phone and they're already doing

  533. whatever it is they do. I'm not saying they do

  534. anything terrible, but I'm just telling you, whenever you choose

  535. to do that, and instead of seeking God, the enemy

  536. of your soul sees that what are you gonna do

  537. about it if you lose your job tomorrow. It's not

  538. on your pastor, it's not on your first lady, it's

  539. not on your Sunday school teacher, and it's not on

  540. your elders. It's gonna be on you to pray that

  541. new job in. But some of you thought that you

  542. would be rebellious when Brother Nathaniel preach and we had

  543. that long night of exhortation, you'd.

  544. Do it your way.

  545. And I remember the moment the prophecy came on me

  546. and said, I think somebody told me they believe it

  547. was said in two weeks. I don't remember that, but

  548. I remember it was said in just a few weeks.

  549. You're gonna have problems on the job, and you're gonna

  550. lose your job for whatever reason. When you realize you're

  551. the fulfillment of an attack that God prophesied and sent

  552. his servant to proclaim, you got me old new I

  553. got a target. One of the things I had done

  554. was let everybody know this young man that's our church drummer.

  555. He may be walking around here in a nice looking

  556. sports coat, but underneath that sports coat there is a

  557. target on his back. And the devil was doing what

  558. he could do to destroy him. And you know what,

  559. if we did not seek God the way we sought God,

  560. he would be in the grave right now. And as

  561. long as you don't seek God, you're going to remain

  562. in that situation. Thank you, brother Philip. I know there's

  563. a lot of emotions involved. I know there's a lot

  564. of discouragement and disappointment, but you can't sit in the

  565. ashpile of despair and discouragement. The only way that's gonna

  566. change is you pray. I remember when sister Teresa Wallace decided,

  567. you know what, living in this camper is not the answer.

  568. I witnessed. That might have been eighteen months ago, two

  569. years ago, I don't remember, but I remember hearing her

  570. say to me and the first lady, I am going

  571. to do something about this, And the critic and the

  572. skeptic could say, what are you gonna do about it? Teresa,

  573. you ain't God. That's what I've said, that little washboard

  574. Mama said when that bully son basically said, oh yeah,

  575. what are you gonna do about it? Scrowny little Mama

  576. in that drunken stupor, she pivoted on her heels went

  577. into her prayer closet and did something about it. And

  578. I remember Sister Wallace going to power forest day.

  579. In and day out and praying.

  580. And you know what, it wasn't very long until God moved.

  581. I mean, not just anybody walks up and hands you

  582. the deed to a piece of property that says, I,

  583. I just feel like giving you a piece of property

  584. that you can sell at a later day and time

  585. and use for the damn payment of your house and

  586. the promised land.

  587. I tell you how that's facilitated by God. Almody. Oh yeah,

  588. you need a new house. What's gonna do about it?

  589. Oh yeah, you need a new time? What's gonna do

  590. about it?

  591. Oh yeah? Three armies are coming against you. What you're

  592. gonna do about it? It's high time to seek the Lord. Amen,

  593. heart takes said Jehasapat sent himself to seek the Lord,

  594. to seek the Lord, to seek the Lord. He set himself,

  595. and Jehassa feared and sent himself to seek the Lord

  596. and proclaim the fast through out how Judah, brother, and

  597. I know the Bible said there is safety and counselors,

  598. and there is safety in the council of good people.

  599. You can get bad counsel from a lot of bad counselors.

  600. But come on, I didn't see where King Jehossa path

  601. went over to dancing mom so with a baby rid

  602. off having a latte in a pastry on that day,

  603. My God in Heaven, a latte and a pastry ain't

  604. gonna fix it. Pal, sitting in there staring at the

  605. floor ain't gonna fix it. Crossing your fingers and toes

  606. and twinkling your nose ain't gonna fix it. Oh, sweet Jesus,

  607. do I have a church at praise or not?

  608. Oh? Come on in here tonight, Church. We ain't done yet.

  609. How many of you are going through some things sides

  610. Pastor Howell and Sister Howell, some of you would admit

  611. to me that they are not pleasant experiences.

  612. My question for us is.

  613. Are we sincerely, honestly, positively, humbly seeking the Lord for

  614. his divine assistance? Or do you serve God some fine

  615. print lettering that says on these conditions. D L. Moody

  616. went from being a shoe salesman to a winner of souls,

  617. Brother Jesse. He left home and he told Mama that day.

  618. He told Mama, he said, I got to do something

  619. about this, us living in poverty, us seeing my siblings starve,

  620. seeing them doing without, and he moved, I forget to

  621. where I've read his autobiography.

  622. I'll pulled it out again today. I want to read

  623. it again.

  624. And brother Jesse, I'm telling you what he told mama.

  625. I'm going to work. And he had a life of

  626. making one hundred thousand dollars if I remember correctly, and

  627. back then that had been equivalent to a couple of

  628. million a day. And he was such a talented salesman

  629. that he was well on his way. And he'd be

  630. meling Mama them big bills, meling mama them big bills,

  631. giving it to Mama because she took care of him

  632. when he couldn't take care of himself, because she wiped

  633. his snotty nose and fed him beans. Oh, come on, now,

  634. he remembered the goodness of his mama. And brother Howell,

  635. Brother Nathaniel Howell, listen, I'm telling you what he remembered

  636. them little days. And then one day he said, I

  637. gotta move, thank you, Holy Ghos, from Boston, Massachusetts, to Chicago, Illinois.

  638. You and I have been there, and I'm telling you

  639. that man began to sell shoes like nobody in that

  640. region had ever sold shoes before. But God told him

  641. to forsake it all and to get into ministry. And

  642. he went to a little woman he had some affection for,

  643. and he asked her, would you mind being the wife

  644. of the preacher, our tenerant preacher, future evangelist D. L.

  645. Moody.

  646. And he said, I can tell you I went from

  647. making five thousand dollars a year to making about one

  648. hundred and fifty to two hundred bucks a year. He

  649. went from a high flute and shoe salesman in Boston, Massachusetts,

  650. and in Chicago, Chicago, Illinois, and brother Nathaniel he went

  651. to preaching the GOSPELAH.

  652. And here's what she said, d LL. As long as.

  653. I am with you, I will walk hand in hand

  654. with you, and we will preach to the loss, whether

  655. many or few. And they raised the family on peanuts.

  656. And one day he asked his wife. He said, sister Moody,

  657. do you regret the fact that I walked away from

  658. my future in business?

  659. And she said, oh, d L.

  660. She said, if you'd a stayed in business, you have

  661. such a kind heart. You would have gave it away anyway,

  662. you would have gave your fortune to those that were

  663. in need in the House of God, to those in

  664. the Sunday school classes, up to the least, the lost

  665. and the lonely. And you know what, She's right. He

  666. gave it to Mama when she needed it to. He

  667. gave it to the least, the lost, and the lordly

  668. when they needed it to.

  669. I'm telling you the.

  670. Reason why God he's the man like il Moody is

  671. because he set himself to seek the Lord.

  672. Because he set himself to seek.

  673. The Lord, I guarantee you he didn't get to where

  674. he was at just stumbling into it. I feel like

  675. God is speaking into my heart right now, needs you

  676. to pray. Pray for me right now. I feel like

  677. God's showing me some things. And verse number four, since

  678. your Hostaphat asked the nation of Jewi to bind together

  679. with him as he sought the Lord. Do you know

  680. we consense it when somebody seeking the Lord. We consense

  681. when you're carrying a brother's burden. We consense it when

  682. you're carrying your own burden. We want to bear one

  683. another's burdens and so fulfill the law Christ. But we

  684. could tell whether or not you're taking it seriously or not.

  685. We can tell whether or not you're carrying a burden

  686. or not. If you really carry a burden of the

  687. altar and really pray, there's gonna be somebody slide up

  688. beside you and help you pray.

  689. And that's what I'm trying to say.

  690. Jehassipat requested the assistance of the rest of the nation.

  691. He asked them to seek God in the past, but

  692. first he was doing it himself.

  693. This is what I'm concerned about.

  694. You'll set the church to praying, but you won't set

  695. yourself to praying.

  696. Amen.

  697. I love to hear crickets preach the church. Family will

  698. fill your burden when you catch a burden. David's brethren

  699. and fellow soldiers caught the vision and the burden when

  700. I first went down into the valley of Elaw. It's

  701. not that brother Jacob sees you going here and there

  702. and everywhere. That's that when you come to church. We

  703. can tell. First Samuel seventeen and forty seventing, he took

  704. his staff in his hand and chose him five smooth

  705. stones out of the brook and put them in a

  706. shepherd's bag. Which he had even in a script. And

  707. his sling was in his hand, and he drew near

  708. to the Philistine, and he drew near to the Philistine,

  709. and he drew near to the Philistine. You ain't gonna

  710. stand up there by King Saul giving the old sling

  711. the TWIRLI bird and just ripping stones loose occasionally and

  712. hoping you hit something daring the move of God. Amen,

  713. that one just took a lap around the church. I

  714. feel like swinging a swing. Come on now, David meant

  715. business in the words of the Great Iris, whom David

  716. meant business. Whenever he got tired of the Philistines being

  717. on this side and the Israeliest being.

  718. On this side.

  719. David walked out, got center stage. Theyved, got right smack

  720. dab in the center of God's will. You want to

  721. be the target. You want to be the target, David said,

  722. Just let me be the target. And Goliath, if I'm

  723. gonna be the target, you're gonna be the target. Oh.

  724. I feel God in this place, and.

  725. The bulls eye I'm aiming for tonight is your head.

  726. If I could get through to that sick, sick six

  727. scholiers and tell you you need to understand something. You

  728. need to pray. Amen.

  729. He drew near to the Philistine. The battle was on

  730. and the armies were in place. I've heard him say, Man,

  731. I need to know is bethelhemon church. Somebody send me

  732. the mixer link. I need to knows the spirit of

  733. God moving down there. We'll drag your hiding down here.

  734. Come and participate. Then, David set himself in the right place.

  735. Will you be in the right place? Jesus was in

  736. the right place in the garden of Gasemine.

  737. Oh, come on.

  738. Jehasapath set himself to seek the Lord. He didn't bring

  739. in the counselors. He didn't bring in wise men. He

  740. didn't bring in his wife's Oh come on, now, are

  741. you a woman? He set himself. He set himself to

  742. seek the Lord. Come on now. Life is more than

  743. a game of chess. But a chess player knows that

  744. they will never win if they don't at the game

  745. pieces on the board. A chess player knows he will

  746. never win the game or doesn't have a chance at winning,

  747. unless he puts the game pieces on the board. Jehosaphat

  748. knew there was no way the army of Judah would

  749. be a beat the Confederate army of three kings. There's

  750. no way. It's not happening unless we get a hold

  751. of God. There's no way he'll be cured of cancer.

  752. It's not happening unless we get a hold of God.

  753. There's no way I'll keep this business. There's no way

  754. i'll keep his house. There's no way i'll get a

  755. new house. There's no way I'll get a different house

  756. unless I seek the Lord. I love the Lord. Tonight

  757. I thought I had a church that loved me. I'm

  758. really trying to preach and help you. I know you

  759. need help. He must help somebody. He must help somebody.

  760. Jehosipact must help his people. And when he helps his people,

  761. they will help him. But brother Nathaniel, he knows his

  762. help comes from the Lord. If you look at verse

  763. number six a second Chronicles twenty, I said, O, Lord,

  764. God of our fathers, art not thou God in heaven

  765. and rule us not tell over all the kingdoms of

  766. the Heathen, And in thy hand is there not power

  767. and min so that none.

  768. Is able to withstand there.

  769. This man's facing a Confederate army of three kings, and

  770. he's in his prayer CAUs it rapid fire prayer is

  771. going on, the effectual fervent prayer of the righteous men.

  772. He continues, art, not thou, our God, who describe out

  773. the inhabitants of this land before thy people Israel, and

  774. save it the seed.

  775. Of Abraham, thy friend. Forever this man is praying.

  776. Brother Jesus was in the garden of Cosumite, praying until

  777. his sweat was as it were great drops of blood.

  778. Amen. And James five and sixteen.

  779. The latter part of James five and sixteen goes something

  780. like this, the effectual fervorit prayer the righteous man availeth much,

  781. the hot, fiery, passionate prayer. Not to it's me again,

  782. Old God. You know there's a turnamite climbing up that

  783. stump over there. God of nature, how much wood could

  784. a wood chuck chuck? If a woodchuck kut chuck would

  785. whoo almost spoke in tongue.

  786. Huh.

  787. I wonder if that limb's gonna fall and hit somebody.

  788. It's a window maker. I will lift up mine eyes

  789. into the trees from whence come with the birds. Man,

  790. You can spend hours of time on your knees. You

  791. could spend hours of time on your feet. I've heard

  792. people before say I can't kneel down. I do my

  793. best prayer walking.

  794. I hope so.

  795. I hope you're really talking to God, the supplier of

  796. all of your needs, while you're walking around. I hope

  797. you're not counting floor tiles. I hope you're not looking

  798. at ace vents. I hope you're not looking at chandeliers.

  799. I hope you're not checking your text messages. The effectual

  800. fervent prayer, the righteous man to get you a job,

  801. The effectual fervent prayer. The righteous man will make provision.

  802. The effectual fervent prayer. The righteous man will bring rain,

  803. or will stop the windows of heaven from offering rain.

  804. If you'll notice the verse after that verse from James

  805. chapter number five. The next verse after verse sixteen is seventeen,

  806. and it speaks of Elijah being the one that is

  807. that one that prays fervently and earnestly that it might

  808. not rain. This guy didn't just on a whim. This

  809. is what some of you have overlooked. He did not

  810. on a.

  811. Will must say I wish.

  812. It would rain, I wish it would not rain. I

  813. wish it would not rain. Open up your bibles and

  814. look at James five and seventeen and tell me what

  815. it said when it was time to rain again. I'm

  816. not talking about jehossifat reign in his king. I'm talking

  817. about when it's time for God Almighty to reign liquid

  818. H two oh chemical composition H two oh out.

  819. Of the glory world. He had to earnestly pray.

  820. Well. Elijah's faces between his knees on the ground, and

  821. he's talking to God and he's praying. How many times

  822. did the young runner go to look at that sky?

  823. Seven times? Several different times he went there was nothing?

  824. So I imagine was it Elijah praying? Imagine he was saying,

  825. Old God, he ain't saying nothing. This will help you

  826. right now if I can put that bulls eye on

  827. your thicks goal and get through that thick head of yours,

  828. sister Wood. And I'm imagining one of them running boys,

  829. the servant. But you know what that running boy he found.

  830. Every time he came back. The man was still praying,

  831. and he picked his head up and say did you

  832. see something? And the young man is say no, and

  833. he said go look again, and he'd prays some more.

  834. Do y'all see that? In James Chaptain number five and

  878. Wash this hand, brother Philip. I've asked you mothers to

  879. fight for your family. I've asked you mothers to shout

  880. for your family. I've asked you to fight for your family.

  881. I've asked you to pray the blessings in for your family.
