Oh Yeah, What Are YOU Going To Do About It - Pastor J. D. Howell 11-16-2025

Second Chronicles, Chapter number twenty, Verse number three, Praise the Lord,

Brother Nathaniel, First Samuel, chapter number seventeen and verse number forty.

Brother Jesse James, Chapter number five, verses number sixteen through eighteen,

Brother Nathaniel, would you read that our brother First Samuel,

chapter number seventeen and verse number forty. And he took

his staff in his hand and chose him five smooth

stones out of the brook, and put them in a

shepherd's bag, which he had even.

In a script.

And his sling was in his hand, and he drew

near to the Philistine How many of y'all understand that

the leaders of the Israelite army as well as the

leaders of the Philistine army, were all wondering, what is

this little man going to do with this situation?

I want to preach a message the Holy Ghost titled

what are you going to do about it? Now? I

could tell sister Wooton is all over this tonight. She

can feel it right down in the core of her being.

Brother Jesse James, Chapter number five, verses number sixteen through eighteen. Brother,

confess your faults one to another, and pray one for

another that she may be healed. That the effectual, fervent

prayer of a righteous man availeth much. Elias was a

man subject to like passions as we are, And he

prayed earnestly that it might not rain, And it rained

not on the earth by the space of three years

and six months. And he prayed again, and the heavens

gave rain, and the.

Earth brought forth her fruit.

Brethren, if any of you do err from the truth,

and one convert him, let him know that he which

converteth the sinner from the air of his ways shall

save a soul from death, and shall hide a multitude

of sins.

Praise the Lord.

Let's stand for the reading of our golden text, Second Chronicle,

chapter number twenty, verse number three. The Bible says, in

Jehasafat feared and set himself to seek the Lord and

proclaim to fast throughout all Judah. Our mental outline will

be this, you must set yourself to seek the Lord,

and then and only after then can you ask others

to join you in that effort. You yourself must first

be willing to do it yourself, if that's what God

or the situation requires.

Again.

Looking at verse number three, and Jehasifat feared and set

himself to seek the Lord and proclaimed a fast throughout

all Judah. Notice that part set himself to seek the Lord.

Mama can't do it for you. Daddy can't do it

for you. The pastor and the first lady cannot do

it for you. We cannot do it for you. Again,

I want to preach a message the Holy Ghost titled

oh yeah, what are you going to do about it?

It's on you on it.

It's your responsibility to do something about your situation. Let's pray,

Heavenly Father, we love and we praise you. We thank

you for the opportunity to come in your house tonight.

We pray that you would annoyt this Thy servant set

a guard at my mouth and helped me to say

the things that you would have me to say, nothing

more or less annoint the ears of this thy precious people,

that they might hear what the Spirit of God is

said under this church tonight through the preach word, through

your word, not of my words, but of your words.

We pray, let these sayings go below the shoulders, that

them saturate the spirit and the soul of each person.

We pray, and may we depart this place joyfully and

not sorrowfully in Jesus' name in the church said hey, man,

as you're being seen, look at your neighbors sitting there

next to you and say, hey, neighbor, what are you

going to do about it? Reply with this, Oh, you

just wait and see. Our text is found in an

Old Testament book of the Holy Bible. The Book of

Second Chronicles is another book of the Bible that is

chalk full of content. It's one of sixty six books

of the Bible. At the fingertips of every minister in

this building tonight, the Bible character before us tonight is

Jehasha Fat, a man who found himself in control of

one of the greatest nations on the face of the earth.

There's a lot of you in this building tonight that

would be the first to volunteer to take the kingship

of any country, whether large or small. The reason you

would volunteer for such a duty or task or undertaking

is that is because of the benefits of being being

a dignitary person of such interest. I have no desire

whatsoever to be king of any country. I have no

desire whatsoever to be a dictator of any people. In

high school I was a student of science. I was

telling Sister Howell recently that all through school I was

able to maintain a ninety seven to a one hundred

grade in science. On up into my senior year of

high school. The chemistry teacher told me he had seen

nothing like it before. He was probably about fifty years

of age when he told me that. He said, I've

never seen anybody pass this particular test. Was such an

understanding as to what I'm trying to convey to the students,

as you have done this day, he said, a record

has been set in my time of education in the

subject of chemistry. I had a passion for chemistry, a

passion for physics, also a passion for social studies, for economics,

for national and world history. There was a passion there.

I wasn't altogether fond of math. I did pretty good

in that, maintain probably about a ninety two to grade

point there. But Brother Caleb, I was very fascinated with

science and with social studies, and going through high school.

Those that knew me, my closest friends, and my contemporaries

and peers, they all knew that my life goal was

to be the vice president of the United States. And

a lot of people would ask me, why do you

want to get involved with politics, And if you want

to get involved in politics, why not set to bar high?

Why not try to achieve unto the president of the

United States? People would wonder why in the world would

this man be willing to be second in command or

assistant to the president. That's because even way back then,

I could tell Brother Jesse that those men had.

The weight of the world upon their.

Shoulders, even a great apostle like the Great Apostle Paul,

although he was a possessor of so many great and wonderful,

supernatural and spiritual gifts, he admitted that he carried upon

himself the weight of the churches, and no doubt, if

it was not for the goodness and the grace of God,

it would have been an unbearable burden to bear, but

he buried it graciously. I have heard people talk about

how the president how the United States goes into office

with colored hair and they leave after a four year

term with bleached hair. I remember watching Barack Obama enter

office black headed amen and he left office silver headed.

There are a lot of things involved with the presidency

of the United States or involved with the presidency of

a business. There's a lot of people dreaming, denyed of

being chief executive officer of a certain business. There's people

that are envious of Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos as

a president or CEO of mighty empires. But Brother Nathaniel,

I am not coboctous at all for the presidency of

any any great man.

Are y'all listening to me here?

But for whatever reason, Jehoshaphat finds himself with a right pedigree,

in the right lineage, and he finds himself being the

King of Judah.

I know it had its benefits.

I know the Prophet Samuel told King Saul of all

that would be at his fingertips as the king of

the United Unified Nation of Israel. But along with that

title came a target. I want to preach to you alone.

With that title came a target. And we find that

this young man Jahasipath, like King Sauw, understood, if I'm

gonna be in the highest seat, if I'm gonna sit

in the king seat, then there's going to.

Be a huge target on my back.

For every person that loves me, there'll be a thousand

that despises me, come on now. I remember talking to

Sister Wooton's mother about eighteen and a half years ago,

and she was telling me that the moment a person

declares themselves to be a Christian, the moment they profess

to be a child of God, is the moment that

they are marked and the world holds them to a

higher standard. It's in that moment they are watched. It's

in that moment they aren't judge. And I want to

tell every child of God him this building tonight, you

are a marked person. I started to ask Sister Roguecap

I'm talking to some people in this building tonight that's

about to find themselves in trouble. Perhaps have already realize

Can I tell you this past week on Sunday morning,

I talked about David losing some things, and some of

you may have lost the job.

Since I've preached that message, I want you to know

I have not heard of you running the daddy.

I have not heard of you running the mama. But

you can't do that when you're a grown man. You

to be a king. You wanted to be your all person.

concerning to any wise person. But when you look on

the horizon and realize they are marching your way. We

know the Bible said that the devil, as a roaring lion,

know that the thief cometh not but for to kill,

to steal, and to destroy. I want you to know

that this confederate army, of these aligned and allied forces,

Brother Nathaniel, they were not coming to play bingo. They

were not coming to play corn hole. They were not

coming to play chess. They were coming to play more

than marbles for Keipsa. They were coming to destroy. And

Jehasa pat recognized the threat, and Josha Jehassa Pata recognize

he was responsible, and he had to come up with

the solution because if he didn't, their plan of destroying

the Israeliza would be executed.

I feel the Holy ghost in this place, Sister. The

Holy ghost just reminded me of a story that I

heard some years ago. They said that this certain holy

this woman of a certain denomination of yesteryear when they

lived right she was a praying a woman, she was

a fasting woman. But for whatever reason, her husband decided

to live differently than her, and she chose to take

them kids to Sunday school and to take them to

church time and again until they got old enough to

make their own decisions, to do it their own way.

And one day the old man told his wife, he said,

leave them alone. They're their own man now. They make

their own decisions and life choices. Now that they want

to go to church, let them go to church. That

they don't want to go to church, hey, but don't

make them go to church. And one of them boys

went down to the bar that Sunday afternoon for.

The first time. Long story short, he become an alcoholic.

He would come home and create a ruckus on the

front porch of us little holy roller mama's hoak house.

And you know what, brother Nathaniel, he would swing punches

had his brothers, he would curse act to his sisters.

One day, Mama on the way to church, as she said,

why do you have to be this way? Why do

you have to act like that? And with a Bible

tuck to underarm, she went out to the door and.

Went to church.

Some time went by, and she asked him again the

same question. I'm telling you, stop cursing your sisters on

the front porch of our little cabin, and stop fighting

and generating a ruckus on the front porch of our

little cabin. The Holy Ghost just brought this to mind,

and he said something along these lines, not these words exactly,

but they were a lot like the title hup Tonight's message.

And oh yeah, what are you gonna do about it?

Little mommy? You know what, little mommy did? She pivoted

on her heels. She walked in there with her bedroom

and a little mama that made a weighed one hundred

and fifteen pounds, sopping wed that was no match for

her boy the bully. She got on her knees, and

she prayed. She set herself to pray, and you know

what happened. God saved him and he became a deb

all chasing Oh come on now, holy ghost fire breathing preacher,

because mother could and what there's something about it? Oh yeah,

what are you gonna do about it? One of the

Marquee boys wrote a song. I can pray, there's something

I can do.

You know what.

God didn't ask you to be the pastor of any church,

but you can pray. God didn't ask you to be

the Sunday school superintendent, but you can pray. God didn't

ask you to be the missionary, but you can pray.

Jehosapacha may have been inherited the throne, and you may

not have forecasted, and your wise man may have not

have anticipated the problem, but it's your problem on it.

And the Bible said he set himself to seek the Lord.

And that's what's been on my mind ever since. More

than that, and your preacher in that youth service, you're

still not seeking the Lord. You know what sister holl

And I did when we found out our baby boy

had a rare, very aggressive type of cancer. We set

ourself to pray. We set ourself to pray. It took

more than a sitting in the recliner experience. We had

two good legs and we were able to get down

and pray. The posture and the position of prayer is

very important when you're not disabled, when.

You're well abled body to pray.

You can find in the Bible that men of God

put their head on the ground between their knees. That's

how well abled body they were. And one of them

men was Elijah. In our co text tonight, our brother

said Elijah was a man subject to like passions as

you are, but he prayed, and that's what I preached

on this morning.

That's what made a little bit enough. It's because he

was a praying man. You don't get it, do you.

The Devil's gonna steal your job one right after another.

Until you learn to seek the Lord. Your finances are

gonna go in a bag with horse until you learn

how to seek the Lord. Hey, come on, your employer,

he's gonna continue to be disgruntled with you, and you'll

be a disgruntled employee until you seek the Lord. Well, preacher,

I've been seeking the Lord for three months. We'll seek

him some more. Seek him through sincerity, seek him through humility,

seek him through honesty. Won't wait until the preacher tells

you to seek the Lord. Don't wait until there's tongues,

an interpretation sad for.

You to seek the Lord.

Whenever it has come that far, you've already decided you're

not gonna do anything about it anyway. I remember being

a young man and the place of Sister how and

I dwelled in for such a large family was way

too small. And I went on a four day fast,

a four day fast, drinking only water, working in the shop,

making sure I stayed hydrated, but going through leg cramps

because I refuse to drink a gatorade.

Because I needed to do something about it.

I didn't do something about it because my wife came

to me, as Job's wife did, and said, do something

about this, curse God and die. My wife wasn't threatening

to leave me. My wife wasn't saying anything whatsoever at

all about it to change my mind, to make me

do something. She wasn't trying to motivate me with strawberry

her cheesecake or with German chocolate cake. She was content

to be there. But when my own two wives being

wide open, I could tell that where we was living

was not conducive for a large family. And after four days,

I will never forget it for as long as I live.

I went to a mobile home repole lot, and Brother Jeremiah,

you know a little bit about this now. We walked

in there and talked to a man that said, I

can tell you're serious about this. He said, over there

on the back corner, we just brought it in and

still got people stuff in it.

I will let you have it for what I have

in it.

And I bought a twenty four by fifty double wide

for eight five hundred dollars. I still have the photo

copy of the check in the file in the top

of the clauset, Brother Nathaniel. That was the result afore

day fast. In that youth message, Brother Nathaniel said, we

all know Pastor, when he sets his mind to seek

the Lord, there is nothing or no one that will

get in his way. I hadn't thought about that until

just now, but that's what is said about jehasapat right here.

He set himself to seek the Lord.

I'm asking you, Win, oh Win, will you decide that

you've gotten to do.

Something about it.

Sister Janet Hill, her sister Cindy Neely, as well as

well as sister Vicky Smith up each and every service.

They set themself in.

You know what they do. They put themself up in

that car seat and they drive to the bell. I'm

Jehosaphat realizes, you know what it's gonna be said that

on my watch, while I'm watching over the welfare of

the Israelites, these three combined armies come in and strode

our carcasses on the ground. That's what the devil wants

to do. The Howell family now is about thirty in number.

They tell me, they say, when we're all here, there's

about eighty of us at Bethel. There's thirty howls and

fifty others. I thank God for that. I praise the

Lord for that. I thank God for the other ones

that are moving down. Glory be to Jesus. But you

know what, I feel responsible as your pastor when you're sick.

I feel responsible to pray. I am not walking around

looking for tithe checks or pentecostal handshakes. I feel responsible

to pray because you are supposed to be my sheep.

They're not getting it again, Brother Nathaniel. All I can

tell you is, sister wooting. God's just piling the condemnation

up apparently because they ain't being convicted to seek the Lord.

Y'all know there's a bronze peace back there that has

been set back there for now, for a good little while.

I don't know how long it's been there, sister, How

do you have an estimate of how long it's been there?

Our theme for about a year was the Holy Good

repeatedly through tongues and interpretation, through prophecy, through messages, will

seek me, seek me. There was a reason for that.

There was a reason for that. There is still a

reason for that, and the very weekend that brother Nathaniel

chose to remind you while in that youth service, that

God had said, seek me, seek me with all your heart.

You will seek me and find me when you shall

seek me with all your heart.

Who said that?

The prophet Jeremiah was speaking as the oracle of God.

God was saying through the preacher, the weeping prophet, who

was he crying to? Certainly not a rebellious people. He

was crying because of a rebellious people, unto God. The

truth is, you're boss, you're employer, and Lucifer, they ain't

out for your best interest. If they get somebody to

do your job for two bucks an hour cheaper, they

gonna do it.

Amen.

There's a Haman out there erecting a chop block. There's

a Haman out there erecting a guillotine. There's a Haman

out there erecting a gallows. There's a Haman out there

devising a cunning plan to your demise.

But we just walk through life.

Not supposing that there is a target on your back.

There's a target on your back if you're a holiness preacher,

or if you're a cart pusher at Walmart. There's somebody

wanting your job. If you're a grave digger working for brothers, Jeremiah,

there's somebody wanting your job, y'all ain't getting it. And

you know how we keep the blessings of God. You

know how we receive the blessings of God. You know

how he maintains us. You know how he sustains us

by seeking him.

Are they getting it? Brother start, I'm not so sure.

I hope so their plan was to steal, kill, and destroy.

You walking around with a target on your back, JOHOSSI

fact can tell you it is not a pleasant feeling

or a delightful situation. There's some of you walking nonchal

ootney right now on your tippy toe, saying, well, bless God,

I'm so important. I've got a target on my back.

Will bless God. I've been crowned king today. What a

coronation service. And already in the council chambers of these

three nations there are wise men telling them how to

form a confederacy and overthrow the kingdom of Jehosaphat. It's

altogether frightful. A man of valor, a man of royal dignity,

according to the Bible, said he was fearful, I said,

this morning, Elijah was not fearful. But even this man

who was so frightful prayed this morning. We preached about

Jezebel placing a target on the back of Elijah. We

learned how uncomfortable he was in that situation. Elijah had

something going for him.

And it was this. He was a praying man.

Calling Daddy Mama and telling them about your predicament is

not going to get you help. That's one thing I

told Sister how when we were raising these men, I said,

they're little boys right now. There's not a those brats

right now. But when they turn fifteen, not when they

turn eighteen. When they turn fifteen, they're gonna have to

know how to fix their own problems. And they all know,

they all know they can call me at any time,

any day, any moment, any night. I will be glad

to help them. But they first better have tried to

change that flat tire of themselves. A man, there's a

lot of preaching in this tonight. Should we just dismiss

and go to Kover's brother chip Roy said today, I

love Coverts. You know why these people had to pray

and seek the Lord? You know why Jehoastipat and Elijah

had to pray and seek the Lord because they were flesh,

blood and bone. They were flesh, blood and bone. They

were subject to light passions as we are. But we

know Elijah was an overcomer because he had a prayer life.

What about Jehassipat. He's gotta get one. And I'm telling

some of you in this building, I don't care how

much you've been over there. To fire forward, You've got

to pray sincerely, honestly.

Add to humility.

It was said of D. L. Moody that he was

quite a shoe salesman. Do you know he became a

shoe salesman after he was raised in the home of

a mother that fought tooth and nail for their survival

because whenever him and his siblings were young people, their.

Daddy died young. I come out of the.

Stock of a man named Ormond Dampier who had several

sisters and at the eighth grade, sister Howell, he had

to walk out of the classroom and walk onto a

mullet skiff and start fishing for a living in order

to take care of a mother had some sisters. They

didn't know whether to call him Daddy, her brother.

Mamma, you spoiled him when you talked to him. A

crown your shoulder. You're not tytswer, Mama, You're not there, Todaddy.

You never will be.

He is really even need to say, if it's not

all for God being on our side, where defeated. Amen,

we're fleshing blood too. We're fleshing blood too. I'm sure

when he heard three armies had joined Affinity and a

confederation of unified troops is on the move and headed

his way, he felt his knees and knocking together. I

told Sister Howell, after passing for about twenty years now,

I can tell, even after them wonderful services, who just

goes through the motions? Who are the camouflage Christians who

put on? And you can tell by the time they

got home, their little stubby fingers is already throwing the

screen up on the cell phone and they're already doing

whatever it is they do. I'm not saying they do

anything terrible, but I'm just telling you, whenever you choose

to do that, and instead of seeking God, the enemy

of your soul sees that what are you gonna do

about it if you lose your job tomorrow. It's not

on your pastor, it's not on your first lady, it's

not on your Sunday school teacher, and it's not on

your elders. It's gonna be on you to pray that

new job in. But some of you thought that you

would be rebellious when Brother Nathaniel preach and we had

that long night of exhortation, you'd.

Do it your way.

And I remember the moment the prophecy came on me

and said, I think somebody told me they believe it

was said in two weeks. I don't remember that, but

I remember it was said in just a few weeks.

You're gonna have problems on the job, and you're gonna

lose your job for whatever reason. When you realize you're

the fulfillment of an attack that God prophesied and sent

his servant to proclaim, you got me old new I

got a target. One of the things I had done

was let everybody know this young man that's our church drummer.

He may be walking around here in a nice looking

sports coat, but underneath that sports coat there is a

target on his back. And the devil was doing what

he could do to destroy him. And you know what,

if we did not seek God the way we sought God,

he would be in the grave right now. And as

long as you don't seek God, you're going to remain

in that situation. Thank you, brother Philip. I know there's

a lot of emotions involved. I know there's a lot

of discouragement and disappointment, but you can't sit in the

ashpile of despair and discouragement. The only way that's gonna

change is you pray. I remember when sister Teresa Wallace decided,

you know what, living in this camper is not the answer.

I witnessed. That might have been eighteen months ago, two

years ago, I don't remember, but I remember hearing her

say to me and the first lady, I am going

to do something about this, And the critic and the

skeptic could say, what are you gonna do about it? Teresa,

you ain't God. That's what I've said, that little washboard

Mama said when that bully son basically said, oh yeah,

what are you gonna do about it? Scrowny little Mama

in that drunken stupor, she pivoted on her heels went

into her prayer closet and did something about it. And

I remember Sister Wallace going to power forest day.

In and day out and praying.

And you know what, it wasn't very long until God moved.

I mean, not just anybody walks up and hands you

the deed to a piece of property that says, I,

I just feel like giving you a piece of property

that you can sell at a later day and time

and use for the damn payment of your house and

the promised land.

I tell you how that's facilitated by God. Almody. Oh yeah,

you need a new house. What's gonna do about it?

Oh yeah, you need a new time? What's gonna do

about it?

Oh yeah? Three armies are coming against you. What you're

gonna do about it? It's high time to seek the Lord. Amen,

heart takes said Jehasapat sent himself to seek the Lord,

to seek the Lord, to seek the Lord. He set himself,

and Jehassa feared and sent himself to seek the Lord

and proclaim the fast through out how Judah, brother, and

I know the Bible said there is safety and counselors,

and there is safety in the council of good people.

You can get bad counsel from a lot of bad counselors.

But come on, I didn't see where King Jehossa path

went over to dancing mom so with a baby rid

off having a latte in a pastry on that day,

My God in Heaven, a latte and a pastry ain't

gonna fix it. Pal, sitting in there staring at the

to preaching the GOSPELAH.

The Lord, I guarantee you he didn't get to where

he was at just stumbling into it. I feel like

God is speaking into my heart right now, needs you

to pray. Pray for me right now. I feel like

God's showing me some things. And verse number four, since

your Hostaphat asked the nation of Jewi to bind together

with him as he sought the Lord. Do you know

we consense it when somebody seeking the Lord. We consense

when you're carrying a brother's burden. We consense it when

you're carrying your own burden. We want to bear one

We can tell whether or not you're carrying a burden

or not. If you really carry a burden of the

beside you and help you pray.

You're gonna have to pray. You're gonna have to seek

the Lord. You can't go to a hote out. You

gotta get out there where the altars at and pray.
