and verse number six. Brother Jesse Matthew, chapter number five
-
and verse number twenty. I feel like Muhammad, allIt tonight.
-
I've got my coach in a corner over here. Brother
-
chip Roy is in a corner. Praise the Lord. If
-
I run over to the corner of the matt or
-
the ring and I say to help me out, coach,
-
I needed to tell me where to swing, only opponent,
-
Praise the Lord. I'm not putting on. I want these
-
young people to know it's okay. It's okay, it's okay
-
to ask for help. Amen. All right, Brother Nathaniel Isaiah
-
chapter number sixty four, verse number six, Brother Jesse Matthew,
-
chapter number five and verse number twenty, and believe it.
-
If you will turn with me to Saint Matthew's Gospel.
-
May I direct your attention to chapter number two two,
-
and we will read more scripture than we have done
-
in quite a while. We'll read verses number one through fourteen.
-
May I say, beloved, you are a beautiful group of
-
saints of God, and I appreciate you all so much.
-
I covet your prayers. Brother, Nathaniel Isaiah sixty four and six.
-
My brother, but we.
-
Are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousness
-
are as filthy rags, and we do all fade as
-
a leaf, and our iniquities like the wind, have taken
-
us away.
-
Amen, how many of you believe that salvation is by
-
grace through faith? Thank God for the ruby red blood
-
of Jesus that has washed our sins away and cleansed
-
us from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit. I
-
thank God for that, brother, Jesse Matthew, chapter number five
-
and verse number twenty For.
-
Us say unto you that it is accept your righteousness
-
shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees. Ye
-
shall in no case enter into the Kingdom of Heaven.
-
Preaching the message the Holy Ghost titled a white tuxedo,
-
A white tuxedo. Let's stand for the reading of our
-
golden texts. Matthew, Chapter number twenty two, Verses number one
-
through fourteen. The Bible says, and Jesus answered and spaken
-
to them again by parables, and said, the kingdom of
-
Heaven is likened to a certain king which made a
-
marriage for his son and sent forth his servants to
-
call him that were bidden to the wedding, and they
-
would not come again. He sent forth other servants, saying,
-
tell them what you are bidding. Behold, I have prepared
-
my dinner, my oxen, and my fatlans are killed, and
-
all things are ready come unto the marriage. But they
-
made light of it and went their ways, one to
-
his farm, another to his merchandise. And the remnant took
-
his servants and entreated them spitefully and slew them. But
-
when the king heard thereof, he was wroth, and he
-
sent forth his armies and destroyed those murders and burned
-
up their cities. Then sayty to his servants, the wedding
-
is ready, but they which were bidden were not worthy.
-
Go ye therefore into the highways, and as many as
-
ye shall find bid to the marriage. So those servants
-
went out into the highways and gathered together all as
-
many as they found, both bad and good.
-
And the wedding was furnished with guests.
-
And when the king came in to see the guests,
-
he saw there a man which had not on a
-
wedding garment, and he said, unto him, friend, how camest
-
thou in hither, not having a wedding garment, and he
-
was speechless. Then said the King to the servants, bind
-
him hand and foot, and take they come away, and
-
cast him into outer darkness. There shall be weeping and
-
gnashing of teeth. For many are called, but few are chosen.
-
Would you pray to not Heavenly Father Lord, if I've
-
ever needed you, I need you tonight, God Lord, I
-
pray that your spirit would be like a spark to
-
the powder keg of my soul. Lord, set me afire
-
through the flame of the Holy Ghost. Ignite me, I pray, God,
-
and let me be a light, a candle, Light my candle.
-
I pray that you would anoint this thy servant by
-
thy strength and thy mind and thy spirit. O God,
-
I know the enemy will fight us tonight, Anoint me,
-
I pray. Set a guard at my mouth, and help
-
me to say the things you would have me to say,
-
nothing more or less. Anoint the ears of this thy people,
-
that they might hear what the spirit of God says
-
under the church.
-
Tonight.
-
Let these say as go below the shoulders, we pray, God,
-
and may we receive this word gracefully and joyfully. May
-
we depart this place joyfully and not sorrowfully in Jesus's name.
-
And the Church said, hey, man, as you're being seated,
-
look at your neighbor and say, hey, neighbor, do you
-
have on the wedding garment? Our Texas found in a
-
New Testament book of the Holy Bible. The Book of
-
Matthew is the first book of the New Testament. Tonight
-
we will be looking at a parable of our Lord Jesus.
-
In this parable, the Word himself tells the story of
-
a king who prepared a wedding banquet for his son.
-
Of course, it's supposed to be a happy occasion, a
-
joyous time, a time of feasting and merriment. You will
-
remember that the Lord Jesus said that whenever the Son
-
of Man returns, it will be as though it was
-
in the days of Noah. They will be eating and drinking.
-
There's nothing in the world wrong with eating and drinking,
-
nor is there anything in the world wrong with merriment.
-
As long as Jesus Christ is an invited guest and
-
willing to be a participant in such a festive time.
-
And we know that we are certainly living in perilous times,
-
it's not a festive time. It is a perilous time,
-
and I feel tonight that there are people in this
-
building that do not have on the wedding garment. After
-
preaching this morning, and after feeling the way we felt
-
around the altar as we prayed, we could tell there
-
were two or three that just simply were unready and
-
unprepared for the coming.
-
Of the Lord.
-
And I was greatly troubled in my spirit, even perplexed
-
that young people and young adults that consider amongst this
-
number of seventy five saved and sanctified people, that somehow,
-
in the midst of this perilous time and also such
-
a festive time for the Bethel Holiness Church, that they
-
would be unprepared. Since the wooding, this seems like something
-
that I would like to participate in. A great time
-
of feasting, a time of merriment. We see that this
-
is the most wonderful time of the year, this Christmas season.
-
We get excited because we're gonna be with friends and
-
family over the holiday. And I'm telling you, there's people
-
in this building that could not even wait until after
-
Thanksgiving to play their Christmas music. There's some in this
-
building that we're not hesitant at all to put up
-
a Christmas tree and to hang some lives. They were
-
excited about celebrating. But according to this parable, after this
-
king sent out the invitations through these messengers for the
-
Prince's wedding, hardly anyone was interested at all in attending
-
this wedding celebration.
-
They would not come.
-
The invitation had been received, but Brother Nathaniel, the RSVP,
-
indicated that they would not attend.
-
And I see that in our altar services.
-
I'm not worried about what's going on out there in
-
the other.
-
Churches around the world.
-
I'm not worried about what's going on tonight in the
-
other churches throughout America. They tell me we've got seventy
-
five or seventy seven in the building tonight.
-
And I'm not even at.
-
Altogether worried about seventy something people in this place tonight
-
as preach. But I'm very concerned about two or three
-
individuals in this building that has received an invitation, and
-
for whatever reason, they have no desire had all to
-
attend an altar of sacrifice.
-
They have no desire.
-
At all to attend an opportunity to accept Jesus Christ
-
as their personal Lord and Savior. They have no desire
-
whatsoever to seek out sanctification and holy ghost baptism.
-
We know here in this parable that the Lord.
-
Jesus was speaking that the heavenly Father had made provisions
-
for the Jewish people to inherit eternal life through the
-
Prince Jesus Christ. But even though the Father or the
-
King had prepared such a feast or banquet, there were
-
people that were unwilling to participate. In fact, one of
-
the verses of scripture says, there were some prime cuts
-
of meat on this backwitting table. There was ox meat
-
and the meat of the fatted calf. All things were ready,
-
all things needed were in place, and brother Nathaniel, all
-
people had to do was to attend in order to
-
eat and drink them and be mery. But the Bible said,
-
they made a light of it. To them, it wasn't
-
a big enough deal. They didn't see the need to attend.
-
One went back to the farm, the Bible said, in
-
other words, one felt like plowing the field or tilling
-
a row in the garden was more important than attending
-
this wedding festivity. And others went back to sell merchandisee.
-
That's what Jesus was stating in this parable, they are
-
not interested at all in me being the.
-
Way, the Truth, and the life.
-
He was referring to his Jewish brothers and sisters that
-
were disinterested in him being the road.
-
To salvation personified.
-
I'm telling you the Bible said he came unto his own,
-
and his own received him not I'm telling you this
-
as equal as the rejection of the Jews concerning Jesus,
-
as it is with you, the way you've been rejecting
-
the messages that the Lord Jesus Christ has sent your way.
-
Sister Howell said it best tonight.
-
She said, when you look upon our pastor and see
-
the burden that he's been over the last couple of weeks,
-
and you hear the messages that God has given him
-
to preach the three four pibe in this place, you
-
can't help but wonder what is wrong and with some
-
of these people. What was wrong with the Jews who
-
said in great darkness and saw a great light.
-
I'll tell you the explanation for that. It's a biblical.
-
Statement to their deeds were evil, and me in love
-
of darkness rather than a light.
-
In layman terms, I want.
-
To tell you that these Jewish people wanted to keep
-
doing what they had been doing.
-
They wanted to be religious.
-
I believe it was Leonard raven Hill that said, man
-
is desperately religious. But what we need is something more
-
than a legion. We need a personal relationship with the Prince.
-
I'm telling you here tonight, I'm preaching to a couple
-
of you in this building right here at the Methel
-
Holiness Church. And so the messengers of the King, they
-
have invitations in their hand. According to this parable, they
-
are going about inviting anyone that would come to this
-
wedding celebration. And some decided that they would reject the invitation,
-
while others felt like they would kill the messenger. And
-
that's what's going on today right now, in this day
-
and hour, in the same way that it was going
-
on in the days of our Lord, and even before
-
his time. People are killing the siren of the Lord.
-
They are murdering her the male man. I'd like to
-
preach some time on that titled murdering her the Male Man.
-
Ey Bible reader and student prayers tonight knows very well
-
that the Lord had offered a wonderful opportunity to the
-
Jewish people, and he offered the new wonderful things for
-
the Hebrews from the days of Abraham, throughout the daft
-
time of David, and right all through the lifetime of
-
the Prophets until the time of John the Baptist. The
-
Lord wanted to do great things for the Jewish people.
-
They had been a blessed with the Abraham and coming
-
into the dividic coming into and.
-
So many other things.
-
And God had blessed them and graced them with me
-
in like her Jeremiah, Amos, Micame, Melekiah, and more. To
-
show them a more excellent way, a way to lead
-
them to the wedding, a way to lead them to
-
the banqueting table. But Jesus himself said, you killed the
-
propets that were sent undo you.
-
Not only did they kill the mail men, not only.
-
Did they destroy the messengers, and they killed the Prince himself.
-
And I know there's some of you.
-
Unless you experience a supernatural change in.
-
Your life because of the way.
-
The Holy Ghost is dealing with you, you will too
-
one day develop feelings in your.
-
Heart about the mail man.
-
I'm telling you the call for the you, he's the
-
same for the gentile. Every believer, whether you oh gentile is,
-
you must be born again. If you're a pharisee named Nicodemus,
-
if you're a religious leader named Sala Tarsusa, he must
-
be born again. And I want you to know you
-
then I believe a salvation by grace to your faith.
-
When you're born again.
-
You will listen to the messenger, you will read the mail,
-
and you will show up.
-
Have to banquet.
-
I said you will show up, have to banquet. Brother
-
Philip just brought in a white tuxedo. Thank the Lord
-
for that. I didn't ask him if he had one,
-
and I'm not gonna ask him where he got it.
-
But friend, you better get one, and you better wear it,
-
not so much proudly as humbly. And you better know
-
that you need to do your best to live in
-
obedience and compliance with the word of God, and try
-
to keep yourself hunspotted.
-
By the world.
-
I can't imagine what somebody would be thinking that would
-
rather choose the pleasures of this life than to feel
-
the joys of the Holy ghosts as he moves upon them.
-
I've seen people that have tasted of the Lord, and
-
they have turned and walked away and went back into
-
that world, brother Philip, if they own a white wedding garment,
-
it wasn't too long before that white wedding garment was
-
stained and spotted by the things of this world. I
-
don't know about you all, but I surmise and suppose
-
that brother Philip hopes tonight that we do not get
-
anything hold that white tupsiedo. I didn't ask him to
-
bring it, but somehow it is here right now. I
-
ain't told him anything about this, and somehow it's.
-
Here right now. Are you with me?
-
I don't know if that is the suit and he
-
got married in or not, but whatever it is, he
-
has no desire that you or himself mess it up.
-
I remember, just hours before he was to wed sister Elizabeth,
-
there was a certain number that called his phone. My
-
son Samuel, captured the moment. He showed me a couple
-
of days ago. He said, dadd have you ever seen this?
-
I said, no, what is it? He said, that's your
-
baby boy about to get married. I said, I suppose
-
as much. I was thinking that's what you were gonna say,
-
he said, but there's more to it. Think about it.
-
I said, I don't know what happened Samuel, or what's
-
going on? He said, Dad, did you notice he's on
-
the phone. I said, I see that now. He said,
-
just a couple of hours before he was to get married,
-
he found out the cancer was malignant.
-
And he said, if you look at this other picture a.
-
Little later, he's wearing his white tuxedo and he's got
-
a big smile on his face, but if you look
-
in his eyes, you'll see a tear in there. He said,
-
he was a good bridegroom. He was not gonna rain
-
on his brides parade. He wasn't gonna cry. He just
-
grin and bear it. What I'm saying is, moments before
-
the wedding he got horrible, devastating news, but he went
-
on in this white tuxedo and he went to the wedding.
-
I'm telling some of you, I don't care what's happened.
-
I don't care what the devils don't they you? That
-
is no reason at all to run to the hog pill.
-
Try to consida, take care of yourself, take care of
-
the wedding garment. I've heard the people getting bitter and
-
because somebody had done them wrong, they take their wedding
-
garment and run it through the muck and the mar
-
and sometimes they put it in the flame and pass
-
it through the fire because of something that's happened to them.
-
And I don't understand how these Jewish people could listen
-
to the preaching of the great Prophet Jeremiah and Isaiah
-
and not understand Jesus, he's the one to perfect righteousness.
-
In fact, Isaiah was so excited one time as he
-
was preaching her prophesying. He said, and in the mountain,
-
shall the Lord of Hosts make unto all the people
-
a feast of fat things, a feast of wines on
-
their leaves, of fat things, full ofmorrow of wine on
-
the lees. Well refined, oh, sister Janet, he the Lord
-
was wanting to put before the Jewish people banquets. You
-
talking about boutiful blessings. That's the name of our outreach
-
ministry in Sea Bring Florida boutiful blessings. The Jews had
-
for blessings before them, and for some reason they did
-
not want to set it a banqueting table. I love
-
what sister Wooton said concerning Jesus and the manifold blessings
-
of the Bread of life himself. Let this fat girl
-
belly up to the trough spiritually speaking, and let me
-
eat of the blessings of the Lord. He is the
-
bread of life. I'm telling you. At that banqueting table,
-
he's flying a banner over your head. And the words
-
love is in the house, and the word holiness is
-
in the house. And the word faithful he is in
-
the house. And the word true he is in the house.
-
And the word worthy he's in the house. Oh, brother Philip,
-
you wore that spotless and white tuxed over to your wedding.
-
I've worn one a few times myself.
-
I remember I wore one the proma, and I wore
-
one to some sort of calendar couple event at the
-
high school. But the one that I remember wearing the
-
most was the one I wore to mining your mama's wedding,
-
and Brother Jesse, after that I put that white turck's holder.
-
I walked differently. I didn't wwn.
-
Anything had all to get off on me. After I
-
slipped on her them white shoes. Let's call it the
-
white shoes syndrome. After I put her on them white shoes,
-
I walked differently. I didn't walk through the merca, I
-
didn't walk through the mira.
-
Here you're somebuch to the behin.
-
I walked differently, and I'm telling you here the night
-
abresainta godd Ha's.
-
Got on a white garment and got a white shoes,
-
and then a walk differently. Amen, Thank God. Amen.
-
The Lord is that sweet bread of life. The Lord
-
is that fountain of living water. And the Lord is
-
the one that supplies the white suit.
-
I said.
-
The Lord is the one that supplies the wedding garment.
-
Times were different then than they are now. In these times,
-
the master of the house, or the king or the
-
father provided the coat for the visitors and for the bridegroom.
-
And brother Jesse.
-
When them invitations went out, he wasn't saying if you
-
got a suit, come, He wasn't saying if you got
-
shoes come. He had the garments in the closet. His
-
seamstress is the one that put them together, I said.
-
The feast was prepared, Everything was ready.
-
Are y'all getting this?
-
The calf was fatted, the oxen were about to low
-
for the last time. The butcher's knives were sharp, and
-
the baker's dough was needed. Oh, come on now, and
-
the wedding garments were ready, and sister Kathy's rope caps
-
fingers are sore. What a seamstress that woman is. I
-
want you to know. The seamstress of the house had
-
the garment and Brother Jesse, that man would put it on.
-
The guests that didn't have a garment.
-
You know what they had to do, gladly they had
-
to take off their coat and their bitches and they
-
had to put on the wedding garment. And you see
-
right here this bedroom was excited to have a change
-
of clothes. And this is wife Sister Roodin. I will
-
never bore off on this cheap, greasy grace reda chip roy.
-
I will thank God for the ruby red blood, Oh
-
Jesus and his righteousness and.
-
His garment hall, thank God.
-
I'll trade my coat for his coat any day.
-
And you know what.
-
The King stood there on that day and he noticed
-
some had been to the dressing room. You're gonna have
-
to go through the dressing room. And I tell you
-
how you go through the dressing room. You go through grace,
-
the goodness and the grace of God that leadeth you
-
to repentance, brings you to godly sorrow.
-
This is where I need you coach, and that.
-
Godless sorrow leads you to true repentance, not easy believism,
-
not cheap and greasy grace, but leads you to an
-
altar am I doing good coach leads you through the repentance.
-
And you know what, Brother Philip, hey, thank God, you
-
come up squeaky clean, not because of your works, not
-
because of any good you've done, or what's it called
-
imputed righteousness, but because of the imputation of His righteousness.
-
My God, I'm holy today because he is holy. I
-
can be holy today because he he is holy.
-
I'm perfect today because He's perfect.
-
And I can be perfect because his garments perfect. There's
-
not a flaw in his garment. It's impeccable. Het Henders, Nobody,
-
Isaiah and Jeremiah. They looked for it to this day.
-
The angels are peering into this service tonight. They would
-
welcome an opportunity to put on that wedding garment. Sister
-
Hawlad's favorite song that she wants me to have played
-
at her funeral, but we won't have to do that.
-
She can play it at mine. It's Kenny Henson singing
-
I Am the Envy Angels, Holy Girls, Free will they
-
chose to be obedient to the heavenly calling.
-
They chose to open their ears.
-
They had ears, and they allowed themselves to hear what
-
the spirit was saying unto them. Come, ye, you ain't
-
got no money, Come to the banquet, Come without price,
-
you're thirsty. Come to the well and drink you're hungry.
-
Come and partake of all of this freely. I feel
-
the Holy ghost in this house, Sweet Jesus. The bountiful
-
blessings of the King was everywhere. And then after these
-
Jews had been invited, they rejected him, and they crucified
-
the Lord of Glory. And this is where the big
-
bang happened. The earth shook, the earth trembled, and Jesus
-
opened the back door to us dogs.
-
Into the gentiles.
-
And he turned the back door into the front door,
-
and gentiles started walking in to salvation through Jesus. I
-
don't know about you too, but to bar the lyrics
-
of a song I love. The best thing I ever
-
did do was when I took off the old coat
-
and put on a new. And while the Jews are
-
rejecting the opportunity to go to the banquet, the gentiles
-
are flooding in this is whosoever will let him come.
-
And the King says they wouldn't come. They didn't find
-
it in poor enough, they didn't lock my garments. They
-
didn't want to come. They'd rather plow a field than
-
have a rib by. They'd rather sell merchandise and to
-
have prime rib open it up to all of them.
-
And when them gentile dogs come to me, when Charity
-
Mask comes to me, when Thomas Sterk comes to me,
-
when Irislim Moot comes to me.
-
When Jeremy Horwell comes to.
-
Me, dealing with regret and battling unworthiness, oh he'll say,
-
it's all right. I've got a garment that is custom
-
filter just for you. Oh thank god, he knew our
-
needs and.
-
He knew, yes, he knew our size before we came
-
to him.
-
Let's move forward to our text.
-
Matthew, chapter number twenty two and verse number eleven, And
-
the Bible said, and when the king came in, come here, King.
-
He surveyed the crowd, and then walked one that did
-
not have on the garment. Come here, brother Sam, mister
-
at you're such a good, safe, sanctified holy ghost field man,
-
that shouldn't bother you. Hen walked a young man, a
-
man who had not on the garment.
-
I don't need that garment. I got my own garment.
-
And the king pointed him out and said, how did
-
this one come in without.
-
The wedding garment?
-
Who let him walk past the dressing room?
-
And the King said, friend.
-
Came ust thou in here hither not having a wedding garment,
-
And the Bible said that unwelcome guest was called friend.
-
And he was as speechless as this young man is
-
right now, because he knew what all had been provided
-
for him. He knew he chose to walk past the
-
dressing room. He had nothing to say, the same way
-
he having Jezebel their eight hundred and fifty prophets, and
-
the confused Israelites had that day on Carmel. He's speechless
-
because he knows anything he says will incriminate him, because
-
he knows he's a thief and a rubber, and he's
-
coming in a different door, and he's coming in a
-
different way. I'll tell you how they got in there.
-
He didn't go to the room. The rebellious man wanted
-
to wear the article of clothing that best suited him,
-
and that's what people want to do. They want to
-
heap unto themselves, teachers having engineers. They want to go
-
to churches where they're comfortable and where they're cozy in
-
the little corners. And you know what his selection of
-
garment and his choice of raiment offended the King. Your
-
works are as filthy rags. It's crazy to think some
-
people would rather rely on their own righteousness rather than
-
be covered by His righteousness. And that is the phariseical
-
spirit of the Pharisees.
-
Caiphas Annis and.
-
All of them hypocrites, all of them pharisee, all those
-
that love the utmost seats, those that prayed to be heard,
-
all of those that said I'm a Pharisee. Among the
-
Pharisees Kia Saul of Tarsus.
-
Included holier than nows.
-
Isaiah sixty four and six said, but we are all
-
as unclean things, and all our righteousnesses are filthy rags.
-
All of our righteousnesses are as filthy rags. Brother Simon
-
and brother Samuel stare It, and brother Samuel Howell, and
-
brother Micah David and brother Jesse David. Right now, their
-
raiment and their garment is not measuring up to the
-
righteous garment of the properly prepared and the properly adorned
-
wedding guest.
-
I hope you pray for me right now.
-
Jesus is quite quite.
-
The preparer you thought.
-
John the Baptist was preparing the way Jesus said, I'm
-
gonna prepare them, my house father. I'm gonna prepare them
-
a feast. And then when you read Revelations, chapter number six,
-
I think it's verse number eleven or thirteen. In Revelation seven,
-
verse number thirteen, someone there talks about all them saints
-
walking around in them white robes.
-
At the big.
-
Celebration, the wedding of the bride united with the groom.
-
I want to be ready, sister, how I led that
-
song tonight. I'm getting ready. I want to be ready.
-
But there's two or three you in this building night,
-
perhaps four or five. You better get ready around these
-
altars tonight, because your righteousness is not enough. In the
-
days that Jesus, the Pharisees felt as though their righteousness
-
and holiness would get them entrance into heaven. And they
-
were so righteous and so holy as to how they
-
didn't even need the gate themselves. They're righteous, all right.
-
But Jesus said in Matthew five point twenty for us
-
saying to you that except your righteousness shall exceed the
-
righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no
-
case enter into the Kingdom of Heaven. So Jesus was
-
telling them, boys, you've done a pretty good job. I'm
-
not gonna throw down on your righteousness, but you sure
-
better improve soon. And that's what I'm telling some of you.
-
You've been hanging on the tuxed hotel a brother Nathan
-
way too long. You've been holding on the bridle gown
-
train a sister Wooding way too long. And you know what,
-
the children of God, they do exceed the righteousness of
-
the Pharisees through Jesus Christ, Bye through at Jesus Christ.
-
Jesus went on to say that the law states of
-
person should not kill. But Jesus, after talking about their
-
righteousness better exceed that of the Pharisees, he said, if
-
you're angry with your brother without a cause, you're just
-
as guilty as the murderer. Right after he said, unless
-
your righteousness succeed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees,
-
he said, you have a law that says you should
-
not commit adultery. But Jesus tightening it on down. He said,
-
let's exceed the righteousness of them Pharisees. It's dragging that
-
woman that was called in the very act. He said,
-
let's just tighten it on up. Let's don't loosen it up.
-
Let's tighten it up. And he said, if any of you,
-
whosoever their words and read, whosoever shall look upon a
-
woman to lust, that to her hath committed adultery already.
-
With her in his heart.
-
Now you know what, that word whosoever there in Matthew's
-
Gospel in the fifth chapter twenty verse, is a good
-
word to plug in there, because nowadays, in our day
-
and hour, it'd be if a woman or a man
-
looks at a woman to us heterosexual or homosexual. In
-
the days of Jesus, he's saying, if it's a phariseeis
-
crib or a publican, whoever?
-
And you know what, this generation of easy.
-
Believism, easy cheap, greasy grace, brother Jesse, they don't like
-
the preaching of the apostle Paul in First Corinthians, chapter
-
number six, where he said, whosoever dos those things that
-
he named in that chapter are not worthy shall not
-
enter the Kingdom of heaven. Should I take the time
-
to read all those things, I'll leave it to you
-
to look those things up. But that entire chapter of
-
First Corinthia, chapter number six does away with this. We'll
-
just live however we want to. I'll tell you this,
-
you will never fashion your own garment and it be acceptable.
-
You will never live holiness in such a way that's
-
impeccable without Jesus Christ living it through you. I've heard
-
people say I can't live it, I'm unable to live it.
-
You're right if you're not living it through and by Jesus,
-
and right now says to.
-
What I'm doing. I'm tightening it down on these three
-
or four people.
-
The saints have shouted and they've rejoiced, and we'll be
-
shouting again here in the next ten minutes if the
-
Lord helps us. But I'm tauting it, tightening it on
-
down to these that are living in this family of
-
God amongst us. They feel like they've got their own righteousness.
-
They feel like because their sleeves go all the way
-
down to their wristbone and their garment extends down to
-
their ankle bone, that their holiness and they're holy enough
-
to make it into that wedding. The length to your
-
sleeve has nothing to do with your salvation. Now, if
-
a drunk, a thief, a harlot, or a hormonger.
-
Is living on.
-
Skid row, our brother Jesse on the back street at
-
LaBelle somewhere, and they stumble into a Bible, and they
-
picked that Bible up, and they start reading it, and
-
the goodness and the grace of God his spirits starts
-
drawing them, and they start drawing night of God, and
-
he starts drawing night of them. And through godly so
-
they find repentance, and the ruby red blood of Jesus
-
washes them clean. They will no longer be such a person.
-
God will take that harley and that hormonger that dresses immodestly,
-
that's immorl and impure, and put within them a desire
-
to be modest and to be poor. I said, if
-
they stumble into the Bible and they start reading it,
-
they can wash themselves by the water of the Word.
-
They con sanctify themselves by the blood of Jesus. They
-
consactify themselves.
-
Through and by the Word. They can sactify themselves by
-
the spirit of God. And my question for you is.
-
You claim to be justified, and you claim to be
-
okay through the imputed righteousness of Jesus, that He's put
-
his garment on you. But I propose to you tonight,
-
are you really wearing that garment? Because do I need
-
to preach it again? When you put on a white
-
robe and you put on white shoes and brother Philip,
-
they want to tell me they're saved, sanctified, and spirit filled,
-
they say, and they boast how their people don't go
-
down to the public beach, but they go to the
-
private beach where there's a bunch of people scannily clad,
-
and they say, we don't wear the bikinis, and we
-
don't wear the spiedos, but we wear swim trunks, and
-
our wives wear one peece bathing suits. I want to
-
ask you something, since when is a one piece bathing
-
suit been midest? And they want a debate whether or
-
not women can wear pants? Of what do Deuteronomy chapter
-
number twenty two mean.
-
I tell you what.
-
Deuteronomy chapter number twenty two means that a woman should
-
not be a tomboy and a boy should not be effeminate.
-
That's the context of Deuteronomy, chapter number twenty two. But
-
those that tell us it's not a sin for a
-
woman to wear that that pertained to a man, And
-
ask us the question, since when has breeches pertained to
-
a man? Even Grandma Clampet Granted Clampant, Jed's granny or
-
whoever she was, told Jed clamping on the Beverly Hillbillies.
-
I've got a great memory.
-
I remember Eli May Clampitt coming in there in her
-
bridges with that rope belt that she in the plaid shirt,
-
and I remember Granting looking like a holiness woman. She
-
was far from it. She's a perverted mind that I'm
-
telling you what. She's a nasty mouth little thing. But
-
I remember her telling Jed Elli May's uncle Ellen May
-
is wearing a man's garment. Now you need to start
-
picking on the holiness preacher and find out who wrote
-
that script for Hollywood.
-
You need to start.
-
Picking at tim and asking them what possessed them to
-
say such a thing.
-
Huh. But I know most of the breeches that they're wearing.
-
If they have to.
-
Lay on the bell, come on, I ain't always been holiness,
-
me and my wife having always lived a holy life
-
that pleases the Lord.
-
And I just preached for thirty.
-
Five minutes saying you cannot sow your own garment, and
-
you cannot fashion your own garment, and your garment is
-
not always under construction, but.
-
You can get it dirty. And you have to ask
-
God the same thing David asked.
-
God, by your creative and restorative power, creating me a
-
clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me.
-
Wash me once again in the roomy red blood of Jesus.
-
Do you know it would have devastated brother Philip to
-
a falling in a madhole on the way to his wedding.
-
He would have devastated him. He had a devastates you
-
in the same manner.
-
When you fall into mud put off week.
-
Capture weaker had come to God saying, I'm your child,
-
I'm ready.
-
For the wedding. I'm glad.
-
The Bible said, if any man sin, let him ask
-
God to forgive him. You have an advocate. I'm glad
-
you have an advocate with a father. Even Jesus Christ
-
our righteousness if he totally totally has to do it all,
-
and he does, and he does, but you do work
-
out your own salvation with fear and trembling. You do
-
be careful where you go because you're a child of God.
-
You do be careful how you dress because you're a
-
child of God. What the sam of God, Church of
-
God preacher, the holiness preacher? Nowadays they say, well, we
-
just go out there and we bathe. You know, mixed
-
bathing used to be something that Pentecostal people didn't do,
-
and youth pastors now permitted to take people of the
-
opposite sex, and really that doesn't even matter in this
-
perverted generation. Are y all listening to Pastor Howell. I'm
-
trying to be careful here tonight. I'm not telling you
-
that you were the one that made that garment, brother,
-
that you wear. I'll tell you who gave it to you.
-
But the same one that gave it to you is Jesus.
-
He can take it from you. And that's where a
-
lot of people miss it. You asked Saul, because he
-
chose to disobey God's commandments, the one that gave to
-
him also took away. Even Job. A lot of people
-
believe Job to be the oldest book of the Bible.
-
Even Job said the Lord giveth and he takes away.
-
Was he gonna take away my salvation. I refuse to
-
be a Calvinist. And that's another message for another day.
-
But I know that I have a personal obligation and
-
a personal responsibility that if he's gonna trust me to
-
wear a white wedding garment, and if I'm gonna put
-
on a white tuxeda and wear white shoes, I'm gonna
-
be careful where I go. But nowadays we forgot the
-
song and the lyrics of that song that the Booster
-
Band sang years ago. Old, be careful, little eyes what
-
you see. Old, Be careful, little ears what you hear.
-
For there's a father up above looking down in love.
-
This generation wants us to believe he don't care a
-
thing about what you're doing with your wedding garment. I
-
don't know about you all, but if I give my
-
child something, I expect them to take care of it.
-
And this is what sums it up. If he's in you,
-
if any man be in Christ, he's a new creature.
-
You have a new nature. This is why the horn
-
monger and the harlot and the thief and the murderer
-
feels the need to clean up, because he's on the
-
inside running around with the Holy scrub brush cleaning you
-
up on the inside. And when he cleans you up
-
on the inside, you don't want to put a stumbling
-
block for your brother and sister on the outside. Brother Nathaniel,
-
I want you to pray for me just a little longer.
-
You aren't saved by works, but works will follow you. Friend,
-
asked Paul, the one that said you want a pharisee.
-
I's a pharisee. I was one of the best pharisees
-
you ever find, but I needed Jesus, and I'm a
-
new creature. Ephesians five and twenty seven said that he
-
might present it to himself a glorious church, not having
-
spot a wrinkle or any such thing, but that it
-
should be holy and without blemish.
-
Let's stand if we can sinster.
-
How you were leading a youth choir in a song,
-
and the lyrics were what I quoted at the end
-
of this morning's sermon. It said, change me, Lord, change me, Lord,
-
don't let me stay the same. And as sure as
-
I live, the Holy got spoke to me, brother Jesse,
-
and he said, there's two people on this platform that
-
are okay, just as they are, And your pastor's wife's
-
crying and weeping. If you could see it with spiritual
-
eyes like I did over the last week, she's in
-
the dressing room preparing for that big day. Friend, how
-
came you tonight into the Bethel Holiness Church after all
-
these years without a wedding garment? If any man be
-
in If and in Christ. The white tuxedo Dad, if
-
you'll look, there's a tear in his eye behind the
-
big smile because he's got cancer and it's one of
-
the rarest, most aggressive forms of cancer. He's white on
-
the outside, but inside there's a cancer. And that's what
-
I'm asking you right now. You're in a garment of
-
your own fashion and your own design, and inside there's
-
a cancer eating you alive. As sure as a man
-
puts on a white tuxedo and a pair of white
-
shoes walks differently, so will a child of the King
-
after he's put on the white robe of his righteousness.
-
M hm. And what I wanted to do was sing
-
that song. I'll tell you the best thing I ever
-
did do was take off the old code and put
-
on a new But Brother, chip Roy, I almost felt
-
like somebody needs to go old school and repent in
-
an old fashioned way. Tonight before the saints rejoice, head
-
show these altars are open. Here no no, here, no no.
-
You make excuses for your sin. You can't save yourself.
-
But he will tell you what to do. There's two
-
in the altar even now. Nay, ye do wrong and defraud.
-
And that's your brethren. Know ye naught that the unrighteous
-
shall not inherit the Kingdom of God.
-
Be not deceived.
-
Neither fornicators, nor idolatiers, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers
-
of themselves with mankind, nor theist, nor covetous, nor drunkards,
-
nor revilers, nor extortioners shall inherit the Kingdom of God.
-
But this is what I like. And such were some
-
of you. But you are washed, but you are sanctified.
-
But you are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus,
-
and by the Spirit of our God. Flee fornication. Every
-
sin that a man doeth is without the body. But
-
he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body. What
-
know ye not that your body is the temple of
-
the Holy Ghost, which is in you, which you have
-
of God. And ye are not your own. For year
-
bought with a price. Therefore, glorify God in your body
-
and your spirit, which is God's. There's two in the
-
altar right now praying, and I trust there being honest,
-
and that they're experiencing godly. Are that worketh under repentance?
-
And I trust they've thrown off the old men and
-
that they're putting on the new. There's two young men
-
in the altar. Are there any ladies? Are you having
-
a hard time crucifying pride? Are you having a hard
-
time crucifying self? As rebellion still raging in sight of
-
your heart? You can't afford to mishaven? Friend, Friend, how
-
is it that you came in here not having on
-
a garment? There's one sister, one young lady?
-
Is there another? Is there another? You know?
-
The best thing to do is make your calling an election?
-
Sure do your first works over again, Brother Samuel Howell
-
said when he got serious about his salvation. It wasn't
-
long after sanctification ensued, and Holy Ghost baptism came soon after.
-
Are you really justified? Are you living with a clear
-
and a clean conscience? Do you breathe easy at night?
-
Are you tormented? Which is it tormented or comfortable, fully trusting,
-
with blessed assurance, or full of unbelief and wondering. Let's
-
fix it tonight, and this is what I'll about it.
-
There's some others that need to come into the altar
-
right now, and there's some that need to help these pray.
-
You pretending to be right isn't going to help your case,
-
because the king knows who's wearing his garment. Well, I
-
thank thee Lord that I'm not as this sinner. That's
-
what the Bible said. The Pharisees did. They smoked their chest, said,
-
I'm glad I'm not locked in publicans. I don't care
-
how long your hair is, ma'am, And I don't care
-
how short it is, ma'am. You need an inward work
-
done inside of you that will cause you to take
-
his words seriously
