Take the punishment. Amen, he would pay the price and
-
take the punishment. I'm so thankful for that. Give honor
-
to my past here tonight.
-
I do it.
-
Admire his knowledge and his understanding of the scripture. Just
-
feasting the preaching. I'd much rather have heard hurt him.
-
And obviously we prefer our brethren here tonight, But so
-
thankful for this opportunity, Amen, Mark chapter eleven. Be looking
-
at verses one through three here tonight. And when they
-
came now a Jerusalem under Phage and Bethany at the
-
Mount of Olives, he sendeth forth two of his disciples,
-
and saith under them, go your way into the village
-
over against you, and as soon as you be entered
-
into it, ye shall find a cult tide where on
-
never a man sap lose him and bring him. And
-
if any man saying to you, why do ye this,
-
say ye that the Lord hath need of him, and
-
straightway he will send him hither.
-
If you'll stretch your hands tonight and pray.
-
With us, Lord, thank you so much God for your presence, Lord,
-
and your help.
-
God that has been available already this service. God.
-
Thank you so much, Lord for the opportunity to be
-
in your house God, such great grace and great mercy. Lord,
-
would you help us in the remainder of this service?
-
Meet with us in these aunts, God, for that's no
-
matters God helpless. I'd be with us God, and one
-
he help us God, Lord, to say, Lord.
-
Only would you have us to say, God, Jesus, if the.
-
Lord would help us tonight, I'd like to preach on
-
set loose for his use, Amen, set loose for his use.
-
This thought came to me, I guess maybe about a
-
week or so ago. And I as I began Pastor
-
asked us to preach, I begin to pray, Lord, what
-
where should we.
-
Go with this? And the the Lord reminded me there
-
of of this portion.
-
As we are here upon Sunday, what a what a
-
wonderful day it was, and as we prepare for the
-
Easter weekend and all that that entails.
-
Amen.
-
There's three characters though that as I begin to read
-
over these three verses, there was three characters or three
-
that that really stood out to me. The first would
-
be later on those bystanders right that if any man
-
meet you in the way, the bystanders potentially the owner.
-
If that, if that's what it was so them, right,
-
the cult and the disciples, and I'd like to appreach
-
to us on those three people here tonight set loose
-
for his use.
-
Amen.
-
So Amen, we're all familiar with Palm Sunday what it
-
tells in the story of it. But just for some background,
-
Jesus and his disciples, they're heading to Jerusalem for the Passover.
-
But you know, Jesus had already made the Pharisees very angry,
-
and his disciples knew what Mark said. I think in
-
the chapter previous it said that they were on their
-
way to Jerusalem and that the disciples were both amazed
-
and afraid because they knew Jesus had been hitting around
-
as some things right, and they knew what was gonna
-
befall him.
-
And of course they were his followers.
-
They knew that they would they would face some of
-
that persecution as well.
-
Jesus had already told him that. Amen.
-
So as they come near the city, Jesus said, he
-
stops and he sends two disciples Amen, to fetch a
-
cult so that a prophecy would be fulfilled. It wasn't
-
just just because he wanted to. It wasn't just something
-
he was like, Oh, you know, my feet are tired,
-
Go bring me something to bring it.
-
No, there was a specific reason.
-
And then so that's that I believe it was Zachariat's
-
prophecy would be fulfilled.
-
Amen.
-
So Christ orchestrated it so that three willing creatures could
-
be a part of this moment.
-
Amen.
-
And truly he didn't have to include any of them.
-
He didn't have to send the two disciples. He didn't
-
have to get a cult that need a permission from
-
somebody else.
-
Amen.
-
He's the creator, right, he didn't and God doesn't have
-
to use any of us.
-
It's by his mercy.
-
So we know that they go, they do what all
-
as Jesus says, and they come back and the disc
-
I believe it's the disciples. They put the coats on it,
-
and Jesus begins to ride in, and then the crowd,
-
the people, you know, they get work up and they
-
begin to put out their coats and the palm branches
-
there in the pathway for Jesus' injury.
-
And we know that as the triumphal entry. Amen.
-
So now as well, we'll be gonna look at this.
-
So there was many mixed emotions, right. There was the
-
crowd you have your those cheering, right, you have people crying.
-
I'm sure they believe, Hey, this this is our ho
-
this is Hosannah. He's come the way that they thought
-
he had, came right to release them from the oppression
-
of Rome.
-
Amen.
-
But Jesus came right for something so much more than that.
-
So many people they just see the right, I'm gonna
-
come to the altar and I'm gonna be delivered of
-
this so that this doesn't plague me anymore.
-
But it's so much more than just that.
-
Well, when you realize that that eternity, right, it's so
-
much more than just.
-
Your immediate fix or your immediate health. Right. Amen, Loujah, helujah.
-
Jesus came to do so much more.
-
He came that prophecy would be fulfilled and to offer
-
himself up as the sacrifice Amen, for all in mankind
-
to recon to reconcile them with their creator.
-
Amen. God.
-
Around this time, you know, I really I think about
-
this a lot. He could have started over. We've heard
-
that so many times. He could have started for scratch,
-
who are we? God would love us so much.
-
That he was in his son. Amen. I'm so thankful
-
for that. Tonight going on here?
-
Amen, Mark Chapter four, Chapter eleven again, sorry, verse number four.
-
We read down a few verses.
-
And they went their way and found the colt tied
-
by the door without in a place where two ways met,
-
and they loose him. And certain of them that stood
-
there said, unto them, what do you loosing the colt?
-
And they said, unto them, even as Jesus had, even
-
as Jesus had commanded, and they let them go.
-
Amen. So again I may have over looked at but
-
I don't.
-
Know that scripture explicitly says that this bystander or these bystanders,
-
if they were an owner or what have you.
-
But I believe that it could be likely. Amen.
-
But the point I want to make here tonight is
-
that it matters that they they chose to stand by,
-
and they allowed Christ's will to be carried out.
-
Without any interference. Amen.
-
How many times have people they've considered giving their life
-
to the Lord, they've considered selling out, but others have said, hey,
-
I'm not sure about that, or hey, it doesn't take
-
exactly that, or hey, maybe that I'm not so sure
-
that Jesus is the way and selling out is the way.
-
Amen.
-
How many people, we're familiar with this that they would say, Hey,
-
I need to go somewhere, I need to move to
-
a specific location, or I feel like God is prompting
-
me to for a change in my ministry. And people
-
get in their ear and they they begin to interfere,
-
and they say, no, Jesus, that's my coat, No Jesus,
-
no disciples that that this is from, this is from
-
our neighborhood, this is from our church. No.
-
Amen.
-
And ultimately they're interfering with what Jesus would have done.
-
Amen.
-
How many times do people begin to establish some convictions
-
in their life and they begin to lay aside some
-
of those weights that would beset them, and they have
-
people come up that, for whatever reason, they just despise
-
God's word and they despise the truth Amen, And they
-
just want to cheap grace and they say, you don't
-
have to live it that tight. Those people are just
-
running interference with what God is.
-
Trying to do. Amen.
-
It matters that we not interfere with God's will for
-
someone else.
-
Amen.
-
Oh, that we would have some more willing Hannahs of
-
the Old Testament.
-
Who would willingly, willingly give her son for God's service.
-
That we would have more men with the faith of
-
Abraham now, no matter what it looked like, right God, Amen,
-
that they would be willing to sacrifice their son.
-
Amen.
-
Can I encourage somebody that the Bethel bystanders, they'll be
-
here to cheer you on as you obey God. They'll
-
be here to get in with you as you obey God.
-
Amen. But it's the world, the bystanders of the world. Amen.
-
If we're not careful, you'll let them distract you. Amen.
-
So moving on, we have the colt itself. The cult
-
had to be willing. Amen.
-
Christ wasn't looking for a mule, a stubborn mule that
-
wouldn't budge. God can't use something that's not willing to move.
-
God can't use something that's not willing to be pipable.
-
Amen.
-
God can't use something that won't Let that let Christ
-
get on its back and say, hey, we need to
-
go this way.
-
Amen.
-
It's important to pull this out right here. The a
-
cult is young, right. It doesn't matter how old you are.
-
It doesn't matter how young you are. God can and
-
he will use anybody if you will allow him.
-
Amen.
-
This colt it says it had never been rowed Amen.
-
You don't need a four years, eight year, ten year
-
seminary degree.
-
Amen.
-
You don't need years of experience testifying in a service
-
for you to go out, Amen, and to tell somebody
-
that you encounter that Jesus loves them. You don't have
-
to have Amen. You don't have to wait until later
-
on in your life. Amen, to carry Jesus with you.
-
This was a young call that had never been written
-
for with no experience.
-
Amen. But he let he carried Jesus. He carried Hope
-
himself through those city gates. Amen. And we carry the
-
good news with us every day. Amen. Amen. Amen. The coat.
-
The only thing that was holding him back was he
-
just needed to be set loose. Brother Samuel preached it.
-
He preached it already, the lowly Jesus on a lowly donkey.
-
And I love that Amen.
-
It truly it was a lowly creature. But it carried
-
Jesus all the way through, Amen. And it brought him
-
into the into the city, and it it brought him
-
onto the where the world Amen, that had been separated
-
from God would be reunited with him.
-
Amen.
-
So my question you tonight, if you picture yourself as
-
the code, it will you be set loose?
-
Have you been set loose? Amen? And if so, if
-
you've been set free, are.
-
You letting God use you the way that He is
-
wanting to and desiring to use you?
-
Amen? Amen.
-
There's a man right in the Bible. We only know
-
him as Legion. We don't know his right name, his
-
real name.
-
Amen. But he allowed Jesus to set him free. And
-
then he went and he.
-
Told hall Alujah. He went and he told Amen, So
-
what keeps you tied up? What is it that would
-
keep us tied up? The other service?
-
You a pastor? Talk to us about our phones? What
-
the phone?
-
They so many, so many things that people used to
-
have to go to so many they would go to
-
different places for different things. It can all be accessed
-
on one device. Now that's just the way that things
-
are going, right, Amen. Is it a is it a
-
toxic relationship that is keeping you tied and keeping you
-
held back from from going forward and doing everything that
-
God would have you to do.
-
Amen, to be used by God, to be set loose? Amen? Amen.
-
God knows, right, you know, God knows. And if God
-
were to show our pastor, I know he would preach
-
and he would reach.
-
Because he wants to see you used by God. But
-
are you willing to be set loose?
-
Are you willing to be used by God whatever it
-
may look like.
-
Amen, hallelujah.
-
As I thought about the passover Jesus and this side
-
was there going up to pass over? Right, we think
-
about Israel and how they cried out to God for
-
deliverance from Egypt. And I truly love how Pastor brought
-
out and brought to our understanding the difference between and
-
the response with the Egyptian exodus and that of Babylon. Right,
-
but there was a percentage of people here now they're
-
basically the captivity of Rome, if you would, And there's
-
a percentage of people who they wanted to be loose
-
from the grip of Rome only for selfish reasons. Right,
-
It's not because they wanted to serve God and keep
-
the law.
-
Fully.
-
I'm sure there were some who did. I'm sure there
-
were some who that was that, you know, they wanted that,
-
they desired that. But this was issral, same old cycle.
-
They would find themselves capture. And it's just time after
-
time with all the judges, with Egypt, with Babon, they'd
-
find themselves in those situations, and they cry out to
-
God they would do fine, and then they would right,
-
they would go back to doing their own thing. But
-
Christ came Amen for a greater purpose than man's selfish motives.
-
Amen.
-
So finally Jesus sent his due disciples the last example
-
here tonight, and he gave them specific instructions. And I
-
know Roman's eight right. It tells us that God can everything.
-
God can work everything for the good of those that
-
love him, those are called to court, and he can
-
work it all for the good.
-
Right.
-
But the modern church they like to use, has a
-
blanket to get Jesus to Jerusalem their way.
-
Amen.
-
The Jesus gave his disciples specific instructions, and it had
-
to be done just right so that the prophecies would
-
be fulfilled because he was the propheesi'ed Messiah.
-
But we can't do it our way. It has to
-
be done the Bible way.
-
It has to be done God's way, Amen, or it's
-
not gonna work.
-
Amen. Amen, Brother Jesse.
-
If you'd come up with us, come up tonight, will
-
you be a willing disciple?
-
Amen?
-
What Jesus told them to do in our day and age,
-
it seems strange. It seems peculiar. It kind of seems
-
out of the ordinary. If you would put it in
-
our and kind of our modern view, if you would,
-
the Lord would tell his disciple, Hey, go up to
-
the factory that car that's just been assembled, it's never
-
been used, Go hop in and just drive off with it.
-
That seems strange to us. That doesn't seem reasonable.
-
It doesn't. It's it's Lord, why would I do that? Right?
-
He that you have to be willing. He'll set you
-
loose for his use. Amen. You have to be willing.
-
And as we all stand here tonight, there's a young person,
-
a new convert, a brother, a sister, whoever it may be,
-
whom the Son makes free, he's free. Indeed, how are
-
you using your liberty? If God has set you free already,
-
how are you? How are you using your liberty?
-
Amen?
-
There's been many baby dedications lately, as people have allowed
-
their children to be giving back to God and they've
-
asked God to use their children. Amen. Amen, would you
-
come tonight and ask God to use us he sees fit?
-
Would you carry Jesus friend? It's the best thing that
-
you could ever do.
-
Amen. God bless you Church.
-
I love you.
