  1. Certainly thankful for my pastor. Amen. Thankful for this church,

  2. Thankful for this Father's Day, Thankful for the revival services

  3. that we were in last week, all the messages, everything

  4. that was said, all the exhortations, all the testimonies, just

  5. great stuff. Thankful for the help of the Lord. We

  6. canna be turned into Second Samuel chapter three, and then

  7. we're gonna flip over just for a few minutes, Job

  8. chapter eight. Look at those two places there. I do

  9. want to give thanks to my pastor for this opportunity.

  10. You know, respect him, Honor him this morning. What a

  11. message I told him later. I was like it just

  12. I stood there just dumbfounded, if you would, how the

  13. Lord just so so miract so it was just so

  14. awesome the way that a Father's Day message just just

  15. seamlessly entwined with just the way that God worked this

  16. morning and pulled it. It was so beautiful. Just we're

  17. blessed to have a pastor like that. I thank him

  18. for this opportunity. Do we do take it very seriously? Amen?

  19. Thank each one for their giving and all that y'all do. Amen,

  20. love our church family. Second Samuel chapter three. We're gonna

  21. be looking at the last verse, verse thirty nine, and

  22. I am this day week though anointed king, and these men,

  23. the sons of Zuruja, be too hard for me. The

  24. Lord shall reward the doer of evil according to his wickedness.

  25. Slipping over to Job chapter eight, we be looking at

  26. verses thirteen through fifteen. Real quickly, Amen, So are the

  27. paths of all that forget God and the hypocrites hope

  28. shall perish, whose hope shall be cut off, and whose

  29. trust shall be a spider's web. He shall lean upon

  30. his house, but it shall not stand. He shall hold

  31. it fast, but it shall not endure. Would you help

  32. us pray here tonight, y'all? We ask you your help. Lord.

  33. We ask you to touching help. Lord God. We need you,

  34. Lord met with us, to help God speak your word

  35. God that we meet with us, who with each one

  36. God man, the Lord help us on a preach on

  37. this stuff. I feel like the Lord gave us when

  38. the web won't work, Amen, when the web won't work.

  39. So here today some points for our consideration here tonight

  40. that we're gonna be going through. There's the the position

  41. of the spider, the actions of a spider, and the

  42. destruction of a spider, all right. So our first our

  43. first verse is here tonight was in Second Samuel. That's

  44. where the bulk of our sermon is gonna be here.

  45. And Second Samuel is the continuation of First Samuel. Many

  46. of us are familiar with the stories found throughout the

  47. book of First Samuel. We know of Hannah praying for

  48. a son, and God here in her prayer, and how

  49. her son she dedicated him to work in the temple,

  50. and how at a young age she was able to

  51. hear the voice of the Lord to be somebody that

  52. would hear from God at such a young age. And

  53. then Samuel he went on and he would anoint the

  54. technically the first king of Israel that God had appointed, Saul.

  55. And then we go on and we continue. There we

  56. learn about Saul's rebellions, saw selfishness, Saul's pride amen, and

  57. we learn about the anointing of Saul's replacement, King Date

  58. we would become King David, and we read about how

  59. the lives of David and Saul became entwined through the

  60. book of First Samuel. There at the end the very

  61. last chapter of First Samuel, we read about the death

  62. of Saul and his son Jonathan. Amen. And that brings

  63. us here to the first couple chapters of Second Samuel

  64. and Second Samuel. Here at the beginning it sets the

  65. king for the scene for King David. Amen. And we

  66. read about in in First Samuel, but also here in

  67. Second Samuel, David recognized, Amen, he had the recognition of

  68. the unstable nature of a few men. We know them

  69. as the sons of Zuruja Amen, namely absh I and

  70. Assa Hell Amen. So despite being notable names that we've

  71. no doubt heard about, we hold them in high regard

  72. for many of their works, many of their actions. David

  73. saw in them many issues Amen, that he had also

  74. a man seen in Saul hallelujah. One thing that I

  75. found interesting, just for your your mental consideration, I guess

  76. a fun Bible fact if you would, the birth order

  77. of these that we read a lot about Joe ab

  78. and we know that job held a pretty lofty position,

  79. and we're gonna talk about that a little bit later.

  80. We hear so much about him we would thank him

  81. to be the.

  82. Oldest, but here we have Abishai was the oldest, then

  83. Joe ab was the middle son. And then later we

  84. learn about assa hell, and there's just a few verses

  85. about him. But he was the baby boy, if you would,

  86. the youngest brother. Amen.

  87. So this we're gonna start here.

  88. The first point the position of the spider, right, man,

  89. we're talking about when the web won't work. God help

  90. us here today. Proverbs chapter thirty, verse twenty eight. It

  91. said the spider takes hold of their hands and is

  92. in kings palaces a man, very familiar scripture verse for us.

  93. And unlike some insects some past that they thrive, and

  94. they live in the dirty and just this doubt dark

  95. and like nasty conditions. Amen. Spiders can be found in

  96. the cleanest of houses, Amen, anywhere, but they're normally found

  97. in those dark corners, right, those places that maybe we

  98. don't frequent so often.

  99. Amen. And the only way.

  100. That you're truly noticed, that you truly are aware of

  101. their presence, is when you shine a light into that

  102. dark place, Amen, or when you notice their web has

  103. begun to grow. Hallelujah. And so here tonight, I want

  104. to ask us what spiritual or metaphorical positions do spiders

  105. hold in our life? Amen? For King David, these sons

  106. of Zarula were more than just people in his military.

  107. They were his family. The sons is Aarula where his nephews.

  108. Arula was David's sister. Amen. So these these three men here,

  109. they were close to David's heart. They were his direct nephews, Amen,

  110. and they were family, right. So they also held positions

  111. though of great notoriety.

  112. They were in David's military. Amen, part of his mighty men.

  113. We know there's his thirty mighty men, right, the thirty,

  114. and then there's also the three those special three Amen.

  115. But he had ultimately eight hundreds right of men that

  116. followed him when he was on the run and then

  117. later when he became king. But he had those those

  118. ones that were higher, right, more a greater position than

  119. all the others that had proven themselves. So Joe Abb

  120. he was the general and the military commander, if you would.

  121. Abishai he was the leader of the thirty right. And

  122. at many times Joe Abb and or Abishai would go

  123. with King David on these these smaller missions, if you would,

  124. David would go in somewhere and they would go with

  125. them as his sidekicks, if you would. And then there's

  126. Assah hell and all the Bible really tells us about

  127. him is that he was one of the thirty. Amen. Again,

  128. there's not much talked about him, but he he had

  129. made made it to the status of one of the thirty.

  130. So these men, they held a position.

  131. Amen. And there are times I recorded, like I said,

  132. where Joe abb or avish I would accompany David. Amen.

  133. And David would find himself in positions and in situations

  134. where he's fleeing from it from his captors. And we

  135. know David was a man of mercy, David was a

  136. man of grace. David showed kindness. Amen. But these sons,

  137. these sons is are ruya. They had they had this

  138. impulsiveness in their heart. They had a hatred, if you would,

  139. in their heart. And they would come upon somebody and

  140. they would immediately say, oh David, we should kill.

  141. Him, Oh David, we should get rid of them.

  142. Amen. When when David was I believe he was in

  143. the cave, Amen, and Saul was there, Abishai was the

  144. when who said, oh David, you should go ahead and

  145. kill him. And David had to tell him, hey, you

  146. don't realize what spirit you're of. The Lord forbid me

  147. that I would touch his anointed Amen. And Nevertheless, though

  148. they spent many years following him, these sons as are Ruya,

  149. they never got over their own nature of the way

  150. they felt that things should be done. Amen. We are

  151. all we've all been instructed many times to be careful

  152. and to be very cautious about who we allow to

  153. influence us and with whom we communicate with on a

  154. daily basis or any type of frequent basis.

  155. Amen, these men were family.

  156. I have many family members that are in church, if

  157. you would, but there I can't communicate with them as

  158. much as I would like to, Amen, because I know

  159. that while they're there, and they might it might seem

  160. like a clean place, It might seem like, oh, it's

  161. just family. I know that they're Ultimately, there are some

  162. that are strategically and craftily spinning a web, Amen, in

  163. a corner. Right, and if I let that get in

  164. my mind and I let that affect me, I don't

  165. want those things to take root, Amen. Right or on

  166. the job, many of us, we have bosses, we have supervisors, right.

  167. They they they have wisdom of the craft or the trade,

  168. and they're able to guide us and direct us. They

  169. can be a great help and attaining position. Amen, and

  170. it's those promotions and things. But we must beware by

  171. what means and what methods some of them type of

  172. people have to attaining such status, right. Amen. They will

  173. try to promote or suggest certain things that we just

  174. simply cannot let fester in our mind. Amen. David was

  175. wise enough to recognize an account for the shortcomings and

  176. the errors of these people.

  177. Amen.

  178. So even though they had a position in his life,

  179. sometimes we can't help it. We have to have a boss,

  180. we have to have somebody over us. We can't help

  181. it always. Amen. But we must be careful how much

  182. of place we give them, and know where they are

  183. and where their position is at. Amen. We come into

  184. the second point of kind of segueing in here to

  185. the actions Amen of a spider in our primary verse tonight,

  186. when we read in second Samuel David, it was his

  187. response he said, the sons of Aruya, they be too

  188. hard for me. The Lord shall reward the evil doer,

  189. the doer of evil according to his weakness. David here

  190. is talking about Joe ab Amen, and just degree Abishah.

  191. And you could even stretch it a little bit for

  192. and include Assa Hill. Amen. We read here this versus

  193. it's speaking of back in chapter two, there was a battle, Amen,

  194. there was a skirmish, and and we read that there

  195. was an altercation between Joe Ab and Saul's his previous

  196. chief of the chief of captain right before Sau had died, Abner,

  197. a man, another notable name in the Bible, and Abner

  198. was related to Saul. Amen. But after the news of

  199. Saul's death came, David came. He came back to Judah,

  200. if you would. Judah received him as king. David was

  201. installed as king over Juda and over some land there. Amen.

  202. But Abner went and he took Ishbascheth, one of sons,

  203. and he named him a king over the rest of Israel.

  204. So David's ruling in his part and Isba Schet's ruling

  205. in his part. And there's some conflict, if you would,

  206. But everybody's kind of doing their thing. And scholars believe

  207. because of the place where this battle happened in chapter two,

  208. it's taking place in that northern kingdom of Israel, And

  209. so scholars believe that Joe Ab was pushing, he was

  210. advancing for it, if you would, a military campaign, pushing

  211. for it and taking some land for David taking some

  212. more land for Jude, trying to, you know, bring the

  213. people in under David because he was the anointed.

  214. That's what they they believe there.

  215. But nevertheless, we find Joe ab and Abner and they

  216. have their their group of men, and we know that

  217. that famous battle that's talked about where Abner says, hey,

  218. let the young men come up, arise and play before us, amen.

  219. And so what they do is they agree.

  220. The Bible talks about twelve men from each and what

  221. this would have been as a twelve v twelve if

  222. you would. We know in the Philistine battle, the battle

  223. with Goliath, it was any a one man would come

  224. fight against the one man, and that would kind of

  225. decide how things looked, and that that's sometimes how they

  226. would fight in these days.

  227. So they did a twelve v. Twelve if you would.

  228. They had the twelve men, and and the battle the

  229. Bible talks about it being a gruesome and just it

  230. turns south, if you would, and it was all the

  231. young men. What a waste life and a waste of time. Amen.

  232. Because Joe abb this man, a wore, this hard man,

  233. he agreed to such terms and conditions. Amen. But when

  234. the battle should have stopped when it seemed like the

  235. one of the people of one of the Amen armies

  236. would have won if you would, or that maybe there

  237. would have been a tie or something of such nature. No,

  238. they continue to fight, and it grew worse, and then

  239. everyone gets involved. Amen.

  240. Oh and a and he gets out of hand. And

  241. then we read here.

  242. We read here about the tragedy of Asa Hill, Amen,

  243. all because of his big brother Joe ab Amen. We

  244. read here and there were three sons of Zaruja and

  245. the three and there were three sons of Zuruja there,

  246. Joe ab and Abashai and Asa Hill. And Assahell was

  247. as light a foot as a wild row. And Assahell

  248. pursued after Abner. And in going he turned not to

  249. the right hand nor to the left, from following Abner Amen,

  250. verse twenty three. Howbeit he refused to turn aside. Wherefore Abner,

  251. with the hinder end of his spears, smote him. Under

  252. the fifth that the spirit came out behind him, and

  253. he fell down there and died in the same place.

  254. And it came to pass as many as came to

  255. that place where sl fell down and died, they.

  256. Stood still, Amen, what a tragedy.

  257. Right. We see that Joe Ab agreed, like I said,

  258. he agreed to this battle. We see that all three

  259. of these brothers, they're taking part in this battle. And

  260. no doubt David knew what his men were doing. I

  261. mean they were away, they were his military. No doubt

  262. they were on a mission for the king. But Joe Abb,

  263. in his nature, if you would end the just the

  264. way that he had always done things, they find themselves

  265. in this tough time, this hard time, and then we

  266. see the results of being these sons of Zarroo, of

  267. this nature. This what we see them do time after time. Amen,

  268. their actions, we see asa hell bite off of more

  269. than he can chew. Amen.

  270. Proverbs nineteen.

  271. It talks about Amen, the soul that beeth without knowledge,

  272. it is not good. And he that hasteth with his

  273. feet sinneth the foolishness a man perverteth his way, and.

  274. His heart fretteth against the Lord.

  275. These sons of Zaruya so many times their foolishness would

  276. pervert the way, and they would go against and contrary

  277. to what King David would say, King Day would say, no,

  278. let that man live. And Joe Ab, thinking that he

  279. knew better, he would send somebody out and say, hey,

  280. you go on, I don't care what David said, you

  281. go and take the life of that man.

  282. And so we have assa Hell here. Amen.

  283. I didn't see anywhere where anybody gave him direction to

  284. go and chase after Abner. Amen. In fact, I kind

  285. of wonder he was only one the thirty. I wonder

  286. if his brother saw him at any point and said, hey,

  287. you know you're supposed to be over here.

  288. Hey, I told you to go over here.

  289. But no, Nevertheless, he assa hell is running after his

  290. own ambition, Amen, and what he'd think is right. And

  291. when I was praying last week, I got to thinking,

  292. you know, I've heard it. I heard it preach years

  293. of years and years ago at a camp meeting a

  294. young preacher years ago, he talked about, you know, when

  295. you finally catch what you're chasing after him? Would you

  296. chase you know, you think you know what you you want,

  297. You think you know what you're going after, and you

  298. don't get it right. I've heard people talk about though,

  299. these great soldiers of God, but when you read you

  300. just see time after time where they disobeyed the King's commands.

  301. And I was praying about this and this, this story.

  302. I'd read it in my devotions and it just kept

  303. staying on my heart and I and I asked, I

  304. asked myself, and I was praying. I was like, why

  305. would Assa Hell continue to run after Abner? He knew

  306. Abner had great status, Abner had great experience. Abner his

  307. skill outmatched Asahelles truly Asselle should have known this, Abner

  308. warned him. I believe it was two or three times.

  309. Abner told him, Assa Hell, turn away, turn back, Amen,

  310. turn around, go after somebody of your own skill level,

  311. if you would, but Assa Hell and his pride. Amen.

  312. People can call it persistence, they can call it loyalty,

  313. they can call it bravery. Amen. You can say it's

  314. just a little spider's web. It's just one little cobweb

  315. that's in the corner. Amen, it's just something I know.

  316. We can say, oh, it's a garden spider. It's just

  317. keeping some other things back. I'm sure there's some use

  318. for it later. Amen. We can call it whatever, and

  319. we can, Amen, But what was asa Hell really chasing after?

  320. I wonder if he started chasing after Amen out of

  321. coveteousness maybe he wanted a greater position. I wonder if

  322. out of jealousy, Amen, or just that that that nature

  323. the sons of is Aruya. Hey, I don't I don't

  324. really care what anybody I'm gonna take on something bigger

  325. than me. I don't like this man, and I know,

  326. I know David'll probably want to spare his life, but

  327. I'm gonna go ahead and take it before they have

  328. time to make that that Amen. So we see here

  329. it's so sad, Amen, that that the baby brother would

  330. follow the steps Amen, that joe Ebb and Abisha had

  331. already shown him. Amen. And again there were times when

  332. joe Ebb and avash I stood up for David. Amen,

  333. and their bravery you know, saved his life. And that's honorable. Amen.

  334. Family will stick by family and that honorable Amen. But

  335. what position and what actions? What are their motives? Amen?

  336. Hallelujah Isaiah Chapter fifty nine it talks about some of

  337. these actions. It says here, Amen, your iniquities have separated

  338. between you and God, and your sins have hid his

  339. face from you, and he will not hear. Your hands

  340. are defiled with blood, your fingers with iniquity, your lips

  341. have spoken lies. Your tongue has muttered perverseness. None calleth

  342. for justice, nor any pleadeth for trust. They trust in vanity,

  343. They speak in lies. They conceive mischief and bring forth iniquity.

  344. They hatch krackatrice eggs and weave the spider's web. He

  345. that eateth of their eggs dieth, and that which is

  346. crushed breaketh into a viper. Their webs shall not become garments.

  347. Neither shall they cover themselves for their works. Their works

  348. are works of iniquity, and the acts of violence in

  349. their hands. Their feet run to evil, and they make

  350. haste to sh had innocent blood. Their thoughts or thoughts

  351. of iniquity, wasting, waste, Amen, wasting and destruction are in

  352. their paths. Amen. Pastor preached so wonderfully last week, And

  353. it was said so many times during the revival, Amen,

  354. about we have to be cautious, Amen, and guard our

  355. heart from chasing after our own ways. Amen. And when

  356. Pastor came and preached that beauty, wonderful mess, look, Aim,

  357. Every message that our Pastor preaches is great. But I

  358. had already started thinking about ask the hell and what

  359. his heart his motives right in his heart the path

  360. that his heart was already.

  361. Paving for him.

  362. Amen.

  363. And so many times we read here.

  364. There's only three times that the word spider is in

  365. the Bible, the first one being where we read the

  366. spiders are in the King's palaces, and the other two

  367. it talks about people who put their trust, their trust

  368. in things that are that are wavering, if you would,

  369. and they put their trust right, they rush to iniquity. Amen.

  370. Now a little bit here, because I know many of

  371. us are familiar with your common house spider, your garden spider,

  372. and we will say, you know, many of us would

  373. say if you you know that they you know there

  374. are some benefits to having them around, right. But there

  375. are some some other types of spider. I started looking

  376. at this maybe last night, just because I didn't want

  377. anybody to get in their heart that owe this, you know.

  378. Just covering our bases.

  379. But there's some, there's some, there's other there's the patient spiders,

  380. those ones we know about. They build their webs, they trap, right,

  381. they connive, they scheme. Amen. But talking about impulsiveness here,

  382. there's also another type of spider. They're called hunting spiders.

  383. And these spiders I read where there's one particular one.

  384. They can run. They can run two feet per second.

  385. That's pretty fast for a spider. These hunting spiders, they're

  386. known to run to chase, to tackle. Amen, their their prey,

  387. if you wouldn't, and they still their spiders, They still

  388. build webs, Amen, they build their their houses if you would, right,

  389. they have other other things there in the Bible talked

  390. about those that they would like the spiders, they would

  391. build their house, Amen, and they would lean upon their house,

  392. they would rely on their house.

  393. Amen, But ultimately it would fall apart.

  394. How many of you you know, you're just outside and

  395. and you see a spider web just drifting in the breeze, right,

  396. the smallest that we talk about the big bad wolf,

  397. and we talk about the house of straw being the weakest,

  398. and we're like, why why would he do that? But

  399. I think truly less, something weaker than that might be

  400. a house made of spider's web. Amen. Amen.

  401. So we have to beware not.

  402. Just the the active, right, the active attacks of the

  403. hunting spiders, right, people that might represent that, but also

  404. those passive. I don't want to take away from that.

  405. We must beware of those that would attack passively. Amen, slowly, right,

  406. they they poison, Amen. And it's a slow drain and

  407. it's a slow poison. Amen. But ultimately these sons is

  408. are Ruya. They showed those those fast, quick, brash Amen.

  409. They showed those actions, right. And something else that I

  410. thought about Asca Hell here is spiders. I don't know

  411. of really any time I've ever seen more than one

  412. spider in a spot.

  413. Asa Hell was part of a unit.

  414. Asa Hell was part of a military Amen, a movement,

  415. if you would.

  416. And he had a job to do with with the team,

  417. if you would.

  418. Amen. And we come in here, and this is not

  419. just a warning for us to be careful of the spiders, Amen,

  420. but to search our hearts and to see what's really

  421. inside our hearts. Amen. Because Assa Hell he found himself

  422. chasing after something and doing it alone. Amen. And that's

  423. what that's some of the characteristics of someone who is

  424. acting in this type of way. Amen. They do it

  425. in their own And spiders are a seclusive insect. If

  426. you wouldn't, maybe I'm wrong, but all of them that

  427. I've seen, they've always they've always been alone.

  428. They've always been by themselves, Amen.

  429. Amen.

  430. And all they do is just breed more of themselves.

  431. That's the only time I see them with more than

  432. one is when they're making more of themselves. Amen.

  433. And then they're scattering and they go far and wide.

  434. Amen.

  435. And if you don't catch it in the moment, it'll spread.

  436. Amen.

  437. So assahell Russian is something that was beyond his ability.

  438. Amen. And it's that have acted like a unit as

  439. a hell just like his brothers. He pursued self promotion

  440. and self honor. Amen. But I will say spiders are talented.

  441. They work with their hands. As the Bible said, we

  442. know that these sons of Zaruya, they had many talents,

  443. they had great position. They had proven themselves to David.

  444. Otherwise he wouldn't have left them in such positions. But

  445. David had to beware, and he knew what manner of

  446. men they were. Amen.

  447. People may appear.

  448. As role models in our lives, but we have to

  449. be careful that we don't become tackled, tangled, or tricked. Amen.

  450. A spider is poisoned. When you become poisoned. When you right,

  451. you begin to lose that you could. You're easily swayed,

  452. you're easily coerced. Amen. We must be careful we must

  453. guard ourselves against such things. Amen.

  454. There's a saying in the world.

  455. I thought of this, and I didn't want to get cardinal,

  456. but I had a supervisor here recently that they she

  457. says this saying. And there's some I wasn't exposed of

  458. it until then. But there's a saying in the world.

  459. And some of you may know it, some of you

  460. might not, But they'll say, my spider senses are tingling. Amen.

  461. So many people right in that.

  462. I'm not gonna go into that, but so many people

  463. they allowing their spider senses, They allowing the way of

  464. their nature. A man. We've been using that word a lot.

  465. But they rely on their nature. They rely on the

  466. way that they think things should be done. They rely

  467. on the way that their old selves did it. Right,

  468. I Sall sees something and he relies on the way

  469. that his brothers did. These men were with David for years,

  470. and yet they hadn't learned the ways of their leader.

  471. You would think that after all the times of correction,

  472. when David said, Joe, ab no, that's not how we

  473. do things. Abbasha, I know that's not how we do things.

  474. And here's Asaholl no doubt I don't know how David

  475. did it. Maybe if he did it privately all the times,

  476. or if he did it in front of some of

  477. the others. I know there's respect to position, but no

  478. doubt they might have said something. And here Asaho is

  479. now following in the same steps, Amen, and refusing to mimic,

  480. Amen and copy right the ways of their leader. Amen.

  481. Someone when they're when they're when they're living right, when

  482. they're relying on their spider senses, they'll be They could

  483. be sneaky.

  484. Spiders are sneaky.

  485. Like I said, you don't know they're there, you don't

  486. realize you're they're there most of the time. And tell

  487. you unscover them and discover them. Right. Amen. But hallelujah Amen.

  488. We don't need to be relying on our spider sense. Amen.

  489. We need to get in these altars and we need

  490. to start relying on the spirit sense. Amen. We need

  491. to start relying on that that our leader has, Amen,

  492. and trusting in that Amen. Because the steps of a

  493. right of a good man, a righteous man, they're ordered

  494. by the Lord. Amen. When we follow our spirit sense, Amen,

  495. we won't run into destruction the way that Asahil did. Amen.

  496. New creatures.

  497. They'll start relying on their spirit sense or made that

  498. new creature, and we no longer have those those ways

  499. of the spider. Amen.

  500. So that was the problem though with the sons of

  501. the Arrua.

  502. They saw the grace, they saw the manners, they saw

  503. the way that David conducted himself and did things Amen.

  504. However they stuck fast to the way that they the

  505. way that they always did things. Amen. So come to

  506. our final point here, the destruction of a spider, Because

  507. how many of us we see a spider in our

  508. home and we can say all we want, oh, they

  509. you know, they do this, they do that, they keep

  510. out the bad bugs, whatever. But how many, truly you

  511. see a spider and you just let it stay in

  512. that corner. How many you see a spider web and

  513. you just leave it up there in the corner because

  514. you know, your little spider, he's keeping your flies or

  515. whatever it is, he's keeping them at bay. So you're

  516. just gonna leave his little web in the corner. No,

  517. when we see that, the moment we see that, we

  518. step on the spider, we hit the spider, we clap

  519. him if he's trying to come down on us, you know,

  520. we brush the webs away, right, and that's that's the destruction,

  521. that's the ultimate destruction of such people, Amen, such people

  522. that follow right, these types of they mancharacteristics, so spiders,

  523. they find themselves exterminated. Right. We already talked about Assahell.

  524. We talked that he was too quick to consider the

  525. stick of Abner, Amen, Asahell. He raced into something. His brashness,

  526. his irresponsibility, Amen, his impulsiveness. Amen.

  527. It led to his demise and his destruction.

  528. Right.

  529. But Assahell wasn't the only one of his brothers.

  530. The self will of Joeab caught up to him, Amen,

  531. and it ultimately brought about his demise. He miscalculated, and

  532. he messed up what exactly he should have done. Amen.

  533. At the end of David's life, Joab got way too

  534. comfortable challenging Amen and ignoring the instructions of King David.

  535. So when David was lying there a dying man, Amen,

  536. I'm sure Joeab all the times that he was with David.

  537. The Bible says David had a son named Adanijah, and

  538. the Bible says that David never once discouraged Adaanijah, telling

  539. him that he wasn't King because Ada Nija was his

  540. eldest son.

  541. Amen.

  542. But no doubt Joe Ab, I'm sure, would have known

  543. David's promise to make Solomon king. So even if David

  544. never forthright told Ida Nijah you're not gonna be the king, nevertheless,

  545. Joe Ab, without getting permission from David, he goes out

  546. and again he goes and does what he thinks his best,

  547. and he oversteps his bounds, if you would, he goes

  548. beyond his responsibility. Amen. And he makes ad In Naja king.

  549. And they start promoting Idaaja in front of the people. Amen.

  550. And they come and tell David, hey.

  551. Didn't you say Solomon was supposed to be king? Howbeit

  552. Joe Abs out here promoting him. Amen. And people respect

  553. Joe Ab. People know Joe Ab has the position. But

  554. here you are here he is, amen, doing something that's

  555. contrary to the king's wishes. Amen.

  556. We know how David he pointed Solomon.

  557. And then he tells Solomon in so many words, this

  558. is the nicer version. Don't let his gray hairs go

  559. to the grave in a peaceful manner, he said. Base

  560. He said that man is a man of blood, and

  561. he's caused many people hurt and he's caused many people. Amen.

  562. That's not many mothers and not sleep good at night. Amen.

  563. He calls many wives and not sleep.

  564. Good at night. Amen. Abner wasn't someone who showed him grace,

  565. or Joe had with someone that he didn't show grace. Amen.

  566. So Solomon, you make sure that when I'm gone, you

  567. don't show him any grace. Amen.

  568. He made his bed, and now it's time that he

  569. lie in it.

  570. Amen. So Inen, Solomon was made king. Joe had feared,

  571. and he fled to the house the Lord. He fled

  572. and he fell between the altar. And we read about

  573. something more tragic than asa hell, more tragic than dying

  574. in battle, is somebody dying at the altar, Amen, between

  575. the horns and the altar. And I'd hate to see

  576. it after Revival, after all the sermons and after all

  577. the services that we've had, that you would let somebody

  578. get in your mind and you would pay a gloss

  579. attention to the position that you've given the spiders in

  580. your life, and you haven't watched their actions, Amen, and

  581. you having to shot them by now or on the

  582. flip side over here, Amen. And you've posted the revival

  583. and you've just done what you've always done, Amen, or

  584. maybe you've tried to do something different. Amen. But yeah,

  585. it's yet to be proven, and I'm not here to

  586. say that. Amen. I believe when God does something, God

  587. does it, Amen, and we all know it. But let's

  588. not find ourselves relying. Amen on the sneaking nature of

  589. the spider, how they Loujah, spiders might be in king's houses,

  590. but they don't have to be in ours. Amen. I said,

  591. spiders might be in king's houses, but they don't have

  592. to say in the house of God. Amen. I said,

  593. when someone becomes a new creature, Amen, that's just that

  594. they're a new creature. In all things are passed away,

  595. how they Loujah. Amen, it's time we put something to death. Amen.

  596. Just as you would clap that spider when it drops

  597. in front of you, it's time that we clap some

  598. seeds out of our life, just like we've stopped that

  599. spider when it runs across the floor.

  600. It's time that we stomp some things out of our life.

  601. Amen. We read it there at the beginning in Job

  602. chapter eight, Brother Jesse, you can come around. So are

  603. the paths of all that forget God. The hypocrites, hope

  604. shall perish, whose hope shall be cut off, and whose

  605. trust show spider's web. He shall lean upon his house,

  606. but it shall not stand. He shall hold fast, but

  607. it shout not endure. That means he can try to

  608. make it steady, but it's not gonna stand. Amen. There

  609. was a lot said Touring Revival about the maggots of

  610. the mind, the mice of the mind. Amen. But too

  611. many people these days we got cobwebs on our craniums,

  612. or we got iraqnas in the attic. Amen. We allow

  613. these things to take position. Amen, and we find ourselves

  614. or I pray we don't. I pray we don't find ourselves.

  615. Acting like these sons is a ruyam, such potential, such

  616. men they held position. Amen. They were David's family. Amen.

  617. They could have continued on and helped his sons and

  618. grandsons lived, if God would gave them long life. Amen.

  619. But they find themselves right assa hell, it's truly a

  620. tragic story. He could have He could have went on

  621. and survived to do so much more. We don't read

  622. hardly anything we read. He was one of the thirty,

  623. and we read of him chasing Abner, and that's all

  624. we read about. After all the preacher that we've had,

  625. why would we still rely on our own way? Pastor

  626. already preached it. Amen, Amen, is your sprint? I had

  627. this down?

  628. Is your sprint? Like Assa hells? Is it an act?

  629. Again? People can call it bravery, people could call it loyalty.

  630. But God knows, David knows, Amen, and assahll knew what

  631. is sprint really meant? Amen? In the ends, and what

  632. about those things are going on around you, those things

  633. that are influencing your environment. Amen, they're at the house.

  634. We don't let those insects last too long? Do we?

  635. At least I don't. When I see now, I had

  636. been praying about this, and I told Pastor Wednesday, so

  637. a lot of things that have been said already in

  638. the revival. It was already had it in my notes.

  639. I had most everything down by Sunday night, after Pastor

  640. has to be ready. I knew our Lord had already

  641. put it on my heart, and I had received confirmation,

  642. and Brother Nathaniel talked, and he came and talked about

  643. running that race right, running with perseverance and determination. Amen.

  644. And already knew that I believe God had put the

  645. run of asl on my heart. Amen. I carried a

  646. burden all the way up to Wednesday night. Pastor came

  647. and he talked about so many things that I had

  648. believed I was gonna be talking about that night. And

  649. I'll tell you the truth. When we left Wednesday night,

  650. my burden lifted. If you what I felt like, Pastor

  651. to live. My bird delivered my burden for me. But

  652. as I continue to pray and get ready for tonight,

  653. the story, the burden of the previous direction might have

  654. lifted a little bit, but the story and the tragedy

  655. of as Hill it didn't. Then, as I continue to

  656. pray up to yesterday, I felt that verse come to mind.

  657. Spiders in King's palaces.

  658. Amen.

  659. And I try to keep you know, clean house the

  660. best I can.

  661. And I believe I do an okay job at it,

  662. being a bachelor. And yesterday I haven't seen a spider

  663. in my house and I don't know how long. And

  664. I had that verse on my heart, and twice yesterday

  665. these little spot I saw a little spider scray across

  666. the thing. I killed it, and I said, oh, maybe

  667. it's just a coincidence. Later that evening, another different type.

  668. I don't want you to think them house infested with

  669. baby spiders, another different type, different place, another spider. And

  670. I said, okay, God, Amen, how did King David know

  671. the actions of As that the actions of Joe Ab

  672. would lead to problems for Solomon? We said at the beginning,

  673. they showed many of the same characteristics as King Saul.

  674. And if anybody knows the actions of Saw, and if

  675. anybody knows, Amen what it can lead to and the

  676. problems he can cause, it's David. And he didn't want

  677. that for Solomon. Amen. David was wise, and David had

  678. a plan, But David was also gracious. And when he

  679. saw that joe Ab wouldn't be corrected, and Joeb wouldn't turn,

  680. and Joeb wouldn't change, Amen, all he saw was the

  681. unchanging nature of Saul. No matter how many times David said, Saw,

  682. I'm not out for your hurt, Saw, I'm here for you.

  683. I'm your servant, Amen, I'm your son, It didn't matter.

  684. Saws persistence saw his pride, saw his rebellion, Amen is

  685. rebellion to God.

  686. David saw that, David saw where.

  687. It led, and joe Ab ultimately he maybe he never

  688. physically came after David right in the natural, but he

  689. undermined him time after time. And David know, hey, he

  690. might have saved my life on occasion. But ultimately this

  691. disobedience in this undermine and it's not good. Amen.

  692. And it'll cost a life.

  693. Amen. When a joebb gets too comfortable. Amen. If we

  694. don't stand here tonight, Amen. Talked about when the web

  695. won't work, when what you've built. Amen. If you find

  696. yourself in that position, when what you've built you go

  697. to lean upon it and all it does is just collapse. Amen.

  698. But also amen, the webs that people might be building

  699. around you, Amen. The webs that the devil might have

  700. planned for you and built around you. Amen.

  701. Those things don't have to work.

  702. Amen. I believe God will help us and meet with

  703. us in these altars. Amen. If there's anything that we

  704. see in ourselves, or if there's any situation Amen. Like I said,

  705. don't let those things influence your environment. If you see

  706. it getting in your mind, you see it coming up

  707. in your home, you see it getting on your your

  708. your occupation. Amen. Wherever they it might present itself, May

  709. we take it to heart recently and I'll be honest

  710. with you because it resonates with me too. Recently, we

  711. found out something about a person in leadership at work.

  712. Me and one of my coworkers came and visited, serving

  713. the Lord the best she knows how, doing it better

  714. than most, and I believe she'll come back soon. We

  715. were talking and we we found out that a lady

  716. in position at work, she she has some spiritual practices

  717. that are pretty wicked. And recently there's been some very peculiar,

  718. very strange things happening. I don't know if anybody else

  719. noticed it, but last week was a pretty strange week.

  720. It was a pretty bizarre week, and even this weekend,

  721. some pretty intense things happening. Now.

  722. I believe the devil is working harder than ever.

  723. Amen. But these people, these spirits, Amen, these when they

  724. get brave enough and they get brazen enough, they'll start

  725. putting it in your face. And this lady, nobody suspected it. Nobody,

  726. you know, nobody knew this was happening. But I felt weird.

  727. You had that sense, you know, when something's not right. Now,

  728. I'd felt that many times around this individual. And later

  729. we I was talking to this coworker and she had

  730. felt the same thing. She's like, you'll notice when they're

  731. in their team meetings and when the meeting's pretty much over,

  732. she's like, when I just hop up and walk away.

  733. That's what she does.

  734. She's on the phone with somebody and she's done talking.

  735. You gotta love her. I hope she comes back. She'll

  736. just say, all right, I gotta go and hangs up.

  737. Team meeting's over and they start talking about, you know,

  738. maybe some personal life stuff. She's like, all right, hops up,

  739. walks out. She's like, yeah, I just I don't feel

  740. comfortable around them. And we found out this person as

  741. a practicer of witchcraft. And there's some people that might

  742. not mean anything. But when it's in your office, Amen,

  743. And I know that as children of God, all right,

  744. we're covered by the blood and we pray against those things. Amen.

  745. But when it becomes not saying that I'm being attacked, right,

  746. but it's it's a spiritual attack. Not saying that I

  747. have you know that they're putting a hex on me

  748. or her, not saying you know anything like that cat's

  749. in a spell on me or her. Amen, But the devil,

  750. the spirit that's within them, Amen. It starts to be

  751. made known.

  752. And now this person is gloating in some things that

  753. they do.

  754. And now they're trying to light candles in the office,

  755. and they do things, and they talk about cleansing the

  756. aura of the room, and and it's just stuff that

  757. two years ago when they came in, it wasn't a

  758. normal thing. But I noticed that after revival, I believe

  759. it was after the after Revival, when this coworker came.

  760. That's some things started happening. And then we started hearing

  761. these comments and these they make it known that the

  762. devil knows. Amen, the devil's not happy. And these spiders,

  763. right when they get hungry enough, these spirits, when they

  764. get when they get angry enough and they get hungry

  765. enough for new life, make themselves known and they'll get bold. Amen.

  766. So may we take it as a warning here tonight.

  767. May we change our ways. May we look out for

  768. those things around us, Amen, and not let them take cold. Amen.

  769. God keep us he can preserve us. Amen. Crush those

  770. spiders come to the altar here tonight, if you would.

  771. We've heard so much preaching. We've heard great singing, great annoying,

  772. great exhortations, great testimonies from our bethyl preachers. Amen, there's

  773. no reason that we should be letting anything live and

  774. fester and thrive.

  775. Amen, in our lives.

  776. Amen. That web doesn't have to work. Amen, don't let

  777. those things influence your environment. Bethel, God bless you, Lord,

  778. helping keep you a heather
