  1. Jesus.

  2. Well, I certainly appreciate the spirit of the Lord and

  3. the service that we've had thus far. It's just been

  4. a wonderful presence of God. I want to say, we

  5. miss our pastor so very much. Amen. I miss my Pastor.

  6. I love him. I miss my mother. I love her dearly. Amen.

  7. All that they do for the church, I just appreciate

  8. them so much. I wonder if I have to get

  9. some brothers to help me too, maybe two brothers.

  10. She read some scriptures for me. Amen. Brother Nathaniel honored

  11. our pastor this morning. Amen.

  12. And I just love that, appreciate the Lord. I believe

  13. that the service has been wonderful. I've been studying. I've

  14. been studying. I'm not going to preach along those lines tonight.

  15. I feel like the Lord directed me in a different way.

  16. But Brother Nathaniel was talking about not letting the journey

  17. detour detour you or amen, or turn you aside.

  18. And I've been studying there. Amen.

  19. And then I was up late Saturday night and studying

  20. along the lines of Jesus when he set his face

  21. stead fast to go to Jerusalem, Amen, knowing what was

  22. waiting for him, knowing the things.

  23. That would that would that that would that would.

  24. Happen and transpire while he was there still, he set

  25. his face to go to Jerusalem.

  26. Amen.

  27. And I was up quite late studying that, and I

  28. really felt like that's the direction that we would go

  29. today or this evening. And I and uh, right when

  30. I when I got my message done, it's in here.

  31. I could preach it, but I just really don't feel

  32. like that's the way God wants me to go. I

  33. have that completed message in here in my notebook. And

  34. I got into bed and my wife was already in bed.

  35. The kids were asleep, and I told her goodnight, I

  36. gave her a kiss, and I laid my head down.

  37. As soon as I laid my head down, I felt

  38. the Lord speaking to my heart something, and I say, well,

  39. maybe that's just me, you know, maybe that's just me.

  40. It was completely contrary and completely different that what I had.

  41. So I said a little prayer, said, God, if that's you,

  42. just let.

  43. Me remember that in the morning.

  44. Just keep it with me throughout the night, and when

  45. I wake up, let it pop back into my head.

  46. And I slept solid through the night. Me and brother

  47. Philip had put a good day of work in on

  48. Saturday over at a project that Pastor had us Amen

  49. working on, and Sunday morning this morning, rather as soon

  50. as I woke up, the first thing I thought of

  51. was I remembered that thought, Amen, that I had last night.

  52. And then Brother Nathaniel came in here and was preaching,

  53. and it's just just I want to.

  54. I want to. I want to preach what God wants

  55. me to preach. Amen. I want to preach along the

  56. lines that He would have me to preach. Amen.

  57. So I want to turn for a golden text here

  58. tonight to the Book of Genesis, chapter number twenty seven.

  59. Love or love my pastor so very much. We miss him.

  60. Hope they're doing wonderful him and our first lady. I

  61. want to say thank you to Pastor for the opportunity

  62. to preach here in his pool pit and in the

  63. work that he's established here through the power of God. Amen.

  64. Thank you to you all for your giving. May God

  65. richly bless you, Amen, for all that you've done for

  66. His people. Genesis chapter number twenty seven. Brother Nathaniel, would

  67. you read Matthew chapter number twenty six, Verse number sixty

  68. nine through seventy three. Brother Samuel, do you have that

  69. other microphone. Matthew, chapter number seven and verse number fifteen. Please, brother,

  70. brother Nathaniel Matthew twenty six sixty nine through seventy three, Please,

  71. my brother.

  72. Now Peter sat without in the palace, and a damsel

  73. came unto him, saying, thou also was Jesus of Galilee.

  74. But he denied before them all, saying I know not

  75. what thou sayest. And when he was gone out into

  76. the porch, another maid saw him and said, unto the

  77. that was there, this fellow was also with Jesus of Nazareth.

  78. And again he denied with an oath, I do not

  79. know the man. And after a while came unto him

  80. they that stood by, and said to Peter, surely thou

  81. also art one of them? For thy speech, bewrath thee.

  82. There was one thing that betrayed Peter. There was one

  83. thing that gave Peter away, Amen, And that was his speech.

  84. That was his voice, the way he talked.

  85. Brother Samuel, would you read Matthew, chapter number seven and

  86. verse number fifteen, My brother, beware of false prophets which

  87. come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are

  88. raven wolves.

  89. Amen.

  90. We're going to try to tie this all in together

  91. this evening. It might not make sense, but hopefully, with

  92. the Lord's help, will tie it all in and we'll

  93. get the whole cake. Here amen, Genesis, chapter number twenty seven.

  94. It's going to be a few verses here. I feel

  95. like the Lord wants me to read a little bit here.

  96. Verse number six is where we'll start. And Rebecca spake

  97. unto Jacob, her son, saying, behold, I heard thy father

  98. speak unto Esau, thy brother, saying bring me venison and

  99. make me savory meat that I may eat and bless

  100. THEE before the Lord before my death. Now, therefore, my son,

  101. obey my voice according to that which I command thee.

  102. Go now to the flock and fetch me from thence

  103. two good kids of the goats, and I will make

  104. them savory meat for thy father, such as he loveth

  105. and thou shalt bring it to thy father that he

  106. may eat and that he may bless THEE before his death.

  107. And Jacob said to Rebecca, behold, Esau, my brother is

  108. a hairy man, and I am a smooth man verse

  109. number fifteen. And Rebecca took goodly raiment of her eldest son, Esau,

  110. which were with her in the house, and put them

  111. upon Jacob, her younger son. And she put the skins

  112. of the kids of the goats upon his hands and

  113. upon the smooth of his neck. And she gave the

  114. savory meat and the bread which she had prepared, into

  115. the hand of her son Jacob. And he came unto

  116. his father and said, my father, And he said, here

  117. am I who art thou, my son? And Jacob said,

  118. unto his father, I am he Sau, thy firstborn. I

  119. have done according as thou badest me. Arise, I pray

  120. thee sit and eat of my venison, that thou soul

  121. may bless me. And Isaac said unto his son, how

  122. is it that thou hast found it so quickly, my son?

  123. And he said, because the Lord, thy God brought it

  124. to me. And Isaac said, unto Jacob, come near, I

  125. pray thee that I may feel thee, my son, whether

  126. thou be my very son Esau or not. And went

  127. near unto Isaac his father, and he felt him and said,

  128. the voice is Jacob's voice, but the hands are the

  129. hands of Esau. And he discerned him not because his

  130. hands were hairy, and his brother Esau's hands as his

  131. brother Esau's hands, so he blessed him. Would you lift

  132. your hands and ask the Lord to help us. Lord,

  133. we thank you so much for your goodness and your mercy,

  134. for your grace, your kindness, and all that you've done

  135. for us today. God, we asked that you would just

  136. help us in this the remaining part of this service. Lord,

  137. that you would help us speak as your oracle. Lord,

  138. not anything that we would want to say, God, not

  139. anything that we could come up with or thank up. Lord,

  140. but the words that are fitly spoken, like apples of

  141. gold and pictures of silver.

  142. Lord.

  143. We know we're unworthy God to be a vessel for

  144. your words. Lord, but if you will allow us, God,

  145. I'll be that picture of silver. Lord God, if you'll

  146. fill my mouth Lord and teach me what I should say. God,

  147. help us all to listen and heed the word of

  148. the Lord. Help us leave this place joyfully and not sorrowfully.

  149. And we ask it in the wonderful name of Jesus.

  150. Amen and Amen. I want to preach at a little

  151. message that I really feel like God gave me the

  152. title to Amen, and that is the Wolf within.

  153. Amen.

  154. Here in our golden text is the descendants of the

  155. great Man of God, Abraham. Isaac here is the promised

  156. son of Abraham and Sarah's old age.

  157. Amen.

  158. We know the promise, Amen, that God had gave Abraham

  159. and Sarah. And I see here that at this point

  160. in time, Abraham's offspring and his descendants are starting to multiply.

  161. And then the family is starting to grow a little

  162. bit and get a little bit bigger. And maybe they're

  163. starting to realize, Amen, that there's a chance for what

  164. God said was gonna happen, Hey, really is gonna happen.

  165. We realize it's starting to come to fruition.

  166. Those things that were promised those many years ago, the

  167. thing that God told us those many years ago, are

  168. finally starting to come into view. And I see that

  169. just as God said, they would start and begin to

  170. multiply and become a great nation. You see here this

  171. is the start, Amen of the promise becoming Amen, into fruition.

  172. Isaac and Rebecca here at this time have brought two

  173. young men into the world. After that God had healed

  174. her barren womb. Because Isaac had prayed, Rebecca was unable

  175. to have children and Isaac went to prayer and said, Lord,

  176. I mean I can only imagine what he prayed. Lord,

  177. I know you promised Abraham my father that he would

  178. become a great nation. Now I've married this woman that

  179. I know you gave to me.

  180. We remember the.

  181. Miraculous story of a Rebecca here. How the how Abraham's

  182. servant went and found this woman for Isaac, and God

  183. made a special special covenant there. And Isaac comes sure

  184. prayed and said, God, you gave me this here woman.

  185. Amen.

  186. And and now I'm just looking for your promise to

  187. be to come forward him.

  188. And she can't have no children. Her womb is bearing.

  189. But Isaac, the Bible says, he went and he and

  190. he talked to the Lord about it, and God opened

  191. her womb. And uh, the story here is ever so renowned.

  192. How the twins struggled in the womb. They struggled, and

  193. they struggled so severely that that old Rebeccah was inclined

  194. to pray to God herself. Hey, Isaac got her into

  195. this mess, amen, Isaac got her womb opened up. And

  196. now the struggle is is so so hard within her.

  197. The Bible said that Rebecca said, I've got to pray

  198. to God about this because there's something going on in here,

  199. and I have no idea what's going on. I just

  200. can't understand it. It just don't make any sense to me.

  201. So Isaac pray or Rebecca rather praise to God and said, God,

  202. what's going on in here?

  203. What is happening? What is the what is the reason

  204. for this struggle that I feel?

  205. God answered her prayer there in chapter number twenty five,

  206. in verse number twenty three, the Man and God there

  207. in the In that scripture text, he informs the woman

  208. that there were two nations in her womb, that there

  209. was two men. There was two there was two different people,

  210. and they would be they would be very, very different people. Now,

  211. the elder was wrestling with the younger in the womb,

  212. and even back then, the younger refused to surrender. Hey

  213. somebody just wouldn't give up. Somebody just kept tussling. Hey, man,

  214. even though they were so little from the from the

  215. time they were conceived, there was that struggle between Jacob

  216. and esau Amen and Rebecca could tell that there was

  217. something different about the way these babies are.

  218. Acting in here.

  219. There's something different about the way these kids are acting,

  220. and even at that young of an age, Rebecca could

  221. say there's a conflict going on inside. There's something going

  222. on inside that I just don't understand that.

  223. I just don't think it's normal.

  224. I just think this is a little bit out of

  225. the ordin Harry, God told Rebecca here that the elder

  226. would serve the younger.

  227. I'm trying to get somewhere. I just want to give

  228. you a little backstory.

  229. God told Rebecca that the elder would serve the younger,

  230. and I personally believe that Rebecca was was very wise

  231. about that foreknowledge. I don't really believe that she was

  232. a loud mouthed woman that went around telling Esau every

  233. time she got a chance. Now, God told me that

  234. you're gonna serve Jacob, hey man, I don't I don't

  235. think Rebecca was that foolish to go around and always

  236. throw that.

  237. Up in into.

  238. Esau's face, hey Man. But deep down in Rebecca's heart,

  239. she kept an eye out, and she's kept an ear out,

  240. and she always wondered when would God make his promise

  241. come to pass? When would be that time when God

  242. flipped the switch, hey man, and made what she prayed about,

  243. and that answer that she got in her prayer cause

  244. it Hey, that thing that God had promised her. I

  245. really believe that she wondered about that, Amen, And deep

  246. down in her heart she always wondered, when's.

  247. It gonna happen? When is that gonna come to pass?

  248. That thing that God gave me, that prayer that that

  249. God answered in my prayer calls it?

  250. When will that come to pass? Amen?

  251. I believe she was waiting for the day, and she

  252. was just washing as a wise woman would, Amen. And

  253. I believe that she was waiting to see that thing

  254. that God told her would take place come to pass.

  255. Amen. I believe she longed for the day to see

  256. a prayer answered. Amen.

  257. I believe she longed for the day, hey, to see

  258. a promise fulfilled. Our text here that tonight allows us

  259. the opportunity to watch how a sibling conflict that originated

  260. from the womb.

  261. Turns into an all out war.

  262. Heymen, once was just a little tussling or a little jealousy,

  263. now turns to hate. With this story today, with this story,

  264. this evening, what's starting out as a little seed of

  265. each one trying to get the better of each other.

  266. Now someone inserts themselves into that situation. And now what

  267. was a little conflict, What was a little bit of

  268. a competitiveness, Amen, What used to be just a little

  269. bit of competitive nature between brothers, hey, where one was

  270. always trying to get the better of each other. Now

  271. there's a real conflict there. Now there's a real problem there, aymen.

  272. Because Rebecca had overheard Isaac hey man, or Rebecca was

  273. in the house.

  274. Whenever Isaac Cody.

  275. Is from Isaah Esau, I'm gonna bless your son, hey man,

  276. I want the Lord to help us, hey man, Rebecca

  277. over Isaac speaking with Esau about his blessing, Amen, about

  278. the blessing that he had planned for the man Esau.

  279. Amen.

  280. And Rebecca remembered, no doubt the promise that God had

  281. given to her.

  282. Amen. And and uh she really.

  283. Uh would would have remembered exactly the moment God spoke

  284. to her.

  285. And I believe she really.

  286. Understood the importance of this blessing right here, Amen, the

  287. blessing that Isaac was talking about.

  288. Amen.

  289. And I believe in her little mind, Amen, she could

  290. not see any other way for God to bring that

  291. to pass. She could not come up with any logical

  292. explanation of how Isaac can give his best blessing to Esau,

  293. how Isaac can give his very best to Esau. And

  294. she couldn't understand how God could take and how do

  295. Isaac's best.

  296. Amen.

  297. I believe Rebecca thought that this was her opportunity. This

  298. was possibly the only opportunity and the only chance that

  299. she would ever get. Amen to see Jacob become the

  300. man that she knew he was supposed to be. Amen,

  301. to see that little child that she knew God has

  302. such great plans for. I really believe that Rebecca thought, Amen,

  303. that this was her opportunity. Sometimes our little our little

  304. humanistic brains, that's the way we think. Hey man, we

  305. can't see outside of our little world. We can't see

  306. outside of our little pre pe our little pea world,

  307. peaceized world. Amen. And I don't think Rebecca could see

  308. pass that, Aymen. I don't think Rebecca could really get

  309. over the fact, Amen, that Isaac was about to bless

  310. Esaul and Rebecca here and we've really appreached our or.

  311. Rebecca sees her opportunity to force the hand of God.

  312. Rebecca sees her opportunity to get right in the middle

  313. of something. Amen, that I know one hundred percent. I

  314. don't know how he would have did it. I don't

  315. know how he could.

  316. Have did it. But I know that God would have

  317. worked that out. Amen.

  318. I know that God would have still made his word

  319. come to pass without Rebecca getting in the mix.

  320. Amen.

  321. But sometimes we just can't help ourselves, Amen. And we

  322. should help ourselves, Amen. But sometimes we just don't help ourselves,

  323. and we just get it right in the middle of

  324. God's plans and we just met everything up.

  325. Aymen. I don't want to be like that.

  326. I don't want to get in the middle of God's

  327. perfect plan, Amen, and trying to work my way in it.

  328. That ain't gonna work.

  329. Isaac sends Esau to the fields to harvest a deer

  330. to bring venison to his table before he dies. Rebecca

  331. jumps right into action when she hears this. It was instant,

  332. as soon as as soon as Esaul cleared the forest.

  333. Hey man, I believe that Rebecca was cricket, was hard

  334. at work. She went and got you remember the stories.

  335. She went and got Jacob, and she said, Jacob, your

  336. father's about to bless Esau, and we've got to do

  337. something about it. Esau's about to get your blessing, and

  338. we've got to do something about it.

  339. We've got to put a stop to this.

  340. We've got to get in the middle of this, and

  341. we've got to get in front of this, and we

  342. gotta really figure out how we're gonna do it.

  343. And Rebecca comes up with a master plan.

  344. Rebecca comes up with a with a just a great lie, amen,

  345. and just a great wonderful idea. And she's certain that

  346. she will make God's promise come to pass. She's certain

  347. that she will make God fulfill his promise.

  348. Amen.

  349. She's certain that she sees away to make sure that

  350. what God said comes to pass. And if I'm honest

  351. with you tonight, I really admire Rebecca in some regard

  352. for the links that she went to.

  353. Amen. You look at everything she did.

  354. Now, it was wrong and she should have stayed out

  355. of it, But you gotta admire the woman, hey, that

  356. saw what she thought was the end of the road

  357. to see what was happening in her life and say,

  358. I've gotta do something. I've gotta get in front of this.

  359. I've gotta stop this. Isaac's about to make a mistake, aymen.

  360. I really believe that Rebecca felt like Isaac was about

  361. to make a wrong move.

  362. Amen.

  363. So in that regard, I admire Rebecca Hey for doing

  364. everything she could.

  365. She tried her best. Amen. She did everything that she

  366. knew to do, but it was the wrong thing. Amen.

  367. God's promises don't require us to get in the middle

  368. of of them. God's plan don't require us to get

  369. in the middle of them.

  370. God don't need our help, hey man. God don't need

  371. us to get in the middle of his promise. Hey.

  372. And make it come to pass. What God said he'll do,

  373. he'll do it. Amen.

  374. If God said it's gonna happen, then it's gonna happen.

  375. Rebecca.

  376. We don't have to understand Hell, we don't have to

  377. understand why or when.

  378. It's gonna happen. All we have to do is put.

  379. Our trust in God Almighty, and say, God committed.

  380. To your hands. Just leave it along, Rebecca. I see

  381. what you're trying to do.

  382. I see what you're trying to do in this situation,

  383. but you're just making it worse. Just let it alone,

  384. Let God work it.

  385. Out, Let God do the work. When we get in

  386. the middle of.

  387. God's plans, we complicate things and we messed things up.

  388. Rebecca here, though good attentions.

  389. Maybe she goes way out of line, she goes.

  390. Way out in left field.

  391. And I give her the benefit of the doubt and

  392. say she thought she was doing right.

  393. Maybe she really felt like she was doing the right thing.

  394. But in this time here she goes way off course,

  395. and she sets her very own two children at war

  396. for nearly twenty years, for nearly twenty years. It was

  397. nearly twenty years before Jacob and Esau ever saw each

  398. other again. And Esau hated Jacob, and Jacob had no

  399. desire to see Esau because he knew if he saw him,

  400. he knew what he saw would do. Because Rebecca got

  401. in the way. Jacob and Esault didn't care nothing about

  402. each other. In fact, they wanted to stay away from

  403. each other.

  404. Amen.

  405. And I believe that if God would have did it,

  406. if they would have worked it out, but with God's plan,

  407. if they would have waited on God's timing, if they

  408. would have waited on God's direction, then he saw and

  409. Jacob still could have been a good relationship. Hey man,

  410. it didn't have to be the way it was for

  411. that twenty years. Hey, if we'll just let God.

  412. Do it, his way. Hey, if we'll just let God

  413. do what he's gonna do.

  414. Mama should have just let God handle it. Mama should

  415. have just let God work it out.

  416. Don't get in the middle of that. Just let God

  417. do it.

  418. Might take a little longer than you think they should,

  419. but the results will be better, Your family will be better.

  420. Trust let God do it.

  421. Trust Wait up, God's timing. God could have worked it

  422. out a lot better than you. God could have did

  423. it a lot better than you can.

  424. But we know.

  425. Rebecca devises hair her plan to steal the firstborn's blessing

  426. from me. So and that was a big thing in

  427. those days. It was a mighty big thing. She comes

  428. up with a scheme, and she comes up with a plan,

  429. and she says she lays it out for Jacob. And

  430. when Rebecca tells Jacob the plan, Jacob spots a big,

  431. gaping problem in it. He said, there's an issue, Mama,

  432. there's something that you're not thinking about. It's all well

  433. and good father's old. Isaac is old, his eyes are dim,

  434. he can't see, but there's a big problem in your playing, Mama.

  435. And he brings to his mother's attention the fact that

  436. Esau was a hairy man, and he was a smooth man.

  437. He was not hairy like he saw was. Now maybe

  438. he has something to do with older brothers. Uncle Jeremiah

  439. can grow a beard in one night, and I can't

  440. grow sideburns. I wouldn't if I could, anyways. But Amen

  441. saws a hairy man. Amen Esau is a hairy man,

  442. hey man, And Jacob said, I'm a smooth man.

  443. I ain't got that problem.

  444. Hey, I ain't gotta worry about that, and and don't

  445. you know Isaac knows it? Hey, Mama, did you think

  446. about that? And you know Isaac he can't see, but

  447. he can still feel. And I know my father when

  448. he hears his voice of mine, he's gonna say, come here

  449. and let me feel you, let me put my hands

  450. on you. Hey, I know what he is so fell like. Hey,

  451. I can't.

  452. I can't. I've gotta stop.

  453. Saying, hey, hey, buddy, buddy. He's so knows Isaac knows

  454. what he so feels like. And Jacob knew it. He said,

  455. I don't feel nothing like that. I don't look nothing

  456. like that. I don't sound nothing like he saw. I

  457. ain't got the skill that hes So has HEAs saws

  458. a mighty hunter. Father knows it. He's a man of

  459. the woods. This was a problem. Indeed, this was a great,

  460. big problem. This was something that they had to come

  461. up with a solution for. But this problem wasn't too

  462. big for old Lion deceiving, conniving, sneaky scheme and Rebecca,

  463. the sister of lying, deceiving, conniving, sneaky, sneaking little band.

  464. He ran in the family, Amen, being able to lie,

  465. being able to cheat, being able to deceive. Amen, just

  466. ran in the family, you remember, laving God's sake them

  467. later on, Hey, so that big sister or little sister,

  468. whatever it was, Amen, she sure came up with a

  469. light of scheme. Hey man, that what probably wasn't too

  470. big for them. She just said, you sit down, Jacob,

  471. you sit down and listen for a minute. Mama's got

  472. it all worked out. Don't you worry about that. I've

  473. got a plan. Old Rebecca isn't stuck in the least.

  474. She is a thrown off of her plan. She ain't

  475. thrown off of her deception. She ain't thrown off of

  476. her lie. She just says, go get the kid, Go

  477. get the goat, Go do the thing I told you

  478. to do. Go get the goat.

  479. I'll make the meat.

  480. I'll make the savory meat that your father loves, his

  481. favorite meal that he asks for.

  482. I'll make that. All you gotta do is get the goat.

  483. I'll make the meat, and we'll use the skin of

  484. that goat, and we'll fool your father. Amen, look right here,

  485. he's the best I had. It's the best my wife had.

  486. Rebecca said, I've got a plan. I know exactly how

  487. to deal with this issue. She said, I've got the

  488. perfect fred. All you gotta do is get the goat

  489. and we'll use that skin.

  490. We'll use that our layer. Hey, and we'll.

  491. Deceive your father. Rebecca laid that ghost skin on his neck,

  492. put some of that on his hands.

  493. Hand.

  494. He walked into the presence of his father. Henry said,

  495. I've got the covering. I've got the hour appearance. Hey,

  496. I'm god, what mose people look at? If you touch me,

  497. I feel like that. If you look at me, I

  498. look like it. I've got the outer layer, I've got

  499. the goat sin, I got the outer covering.

  500. I got enough the food, Rebecca said. All we need

  501. is a little covering.

  502. All we need is a little something to cover you up.

  503. We just need a little croak. We just need something

  504. to hide the truth. We just need something tay you

  505. to deceive everybody, they to deceive Isaac.

  506. There's far too many people just looking for a goat skin.

  507. There's far too many people that's counting on their outer covering.

  508. They lie up word for word with the church by

  509. their side.

  510. It's a lie.

  511. Rebecca said, you know your father's old, he can't see.

  512. His eyes are dim. I'll just put this goat skin

  513. on your neck and we'll fool the old man, and

  514. we'll make you think that you're something that you're really not.

  515. There's far too many people in the church world today.

  516. There's far too many people in the church wild.

  517. They are just in a difuse money.

  518. I'll just put this goat skin on your neck and

  519. your hands, and we'll deceive old Isaac. He'll never know

  520. what happened, he'll never know what hit him. Friend, it's

  521. gonna take more than some outward appearance when we stand

  522. before God Almighty. Brother Nathaniel was preaching some of it

  523. this morning. We can't count on outward we can't count

  524. on the outward appearing. I've been a this who in

  525. this church my whole life, thank God, thank God. But

  526. I can't count on what I learned on that pew

  527. to get me into heaven. I can't count on lining

  528. up with what my father preached to me, hey, to

  529. get me into heaven.

  530. I've got to have something on the inside.

  531. I gotta have more.

  532. Than a goat skin. I've gotta have more than just

  533. to come in. I need something on the inside.

  534. You can try to hide behind that standard, you can

  535. try to hide behind that board, that uh, that that

  536. dress code that you wear, but it takes more than

  537. looking the part, and it takes more than acting the part.

  538. When Jacob came to Isaac in our text here, Isaac

  539. he knew something was off. He could tell something just

  540. ain't right about this man. Something just ain't right about

  541. this guy. I can't put my finger on it because

  542. I'm blind, but I know something ain't right.

  543. I can tell something ain't right.

  544. Isaac knew something was off, and he said this, you

  545. feel like he saw, and I paraphrase, you feel like Esau.

  546. Your hands are harry, the back of your neck is harry.

  547. You've got the covering, but something ain't right. And he said,

  548. you feel like Esau. Later on in this scripture, he said,

  549. you smell like Esau. You smell like the woods. You

  550. smell like you've been hunting. But you sound like Jacob.

  551. There's something inside that's coming out. There's something inside that

  552. you look the part outside win. Most look at you.

  553. They feel like you've got it down. But when you speak,

  554. the truth is known. Isaac said. The voice don't sound right.

  555. There's something off when you speak. There's something off when

  556. you're talking. There's something that just ay right by the

  557. way you're talking. You're acting like he Saul. You feel

  558. like he Saul. You feel like he Saul. But something's wrong.

  559. But something's off. Quit trying to for God. Quit trying

  560. the for Isaac isaak, No, something's off. He knows something's wrong.

  561. I'm not mad, I'm not mean.

  562. I'm preaching what God gave me. I struggle with titles.

  563. I tell my brothers I fight for titles. That's doing

  564. me the last thing I get. But I got to

  565. church this morning before the service. I knelt down in

  566. that office and went my knees at the floor and

  567. my feet my head touched the back of that chair.

  568. God said, the roof within outside you look.

  569. Good outside, you look.

  570. Right by inside.

  571. There's a loof inside, there's deception.

  572. Inside. Something's wrong, and your voice is portraying you. There's

  573. something off about the whole situation. I say, no, something's.

  574. Bad role, But because of my state, I.

  575. Can't figure it out. I can't put my finger on it.

  576. You got some parts down. Pat you get here five

  577. point thirty, you find a poison one of them pews.

  578. We're up here at this altar.

  579. We're on this platform, and you kneel down and you

  580. pray before charge. When the congregational choir starts singing, you

  581. clap your hands, You lift a hand of God, you

  582. shout A man.

  583. Pastor starts preaching.

  584. We lift a hand, We stand up, We get in

  585. the amen corner.

  586. And all along we're covered in goats hair.

  587. All alone, we're covered in goats can All along. We're

  588. just trying to blend in and we're trying to deceive.

  589. But the Man of God will knock be fooled.

  590. Isaac was fooled because his eyes were dead. Isaac was

  591. fooled because he could not see. You've got things mastered.

  592. You got it down to a t. You know how

  593. to say A man right. When Pastor gets done with

  594. that sentence, he's saying, you know how to clap your

  595. hands when the service.

  596. Gets to the right point.

  597. You know how to take a lap when the music

  598. just right. But all it is is a goat skin.

  599. All it is.

  600. It's just a false, fake folly for side.

  601. You got the right look, you got the right smell.

  602. But something's not right when you talk. There's something inside,

  603. and you think you've got it all covered up with

  604. those goat skins. You think nobody can see you. You

  605. think nobody knows that it's you. Isn't it the ostrich

  606. that's such a fool stick their head in the sand.

  607. Ain't if the ostrich such an idiot? God made them

  608. that way. You know, I've guessed some line or something

  609. needed an easy pray. I don't know. God made them

  610. that way for a reason. Maybe it's a snack for

  611. the weak lions.

  612. I don't know. God did it for a purpose.

  613. But those ostriches stick their little heads in the sand, and.

  614. Nobody can see me. Nobody knows just me. You ain't

  615. hiding from nobody.

  616. Your family sees it, The people on the job see it,

  617. the people on the church. You besides you see it,

  618. and bless God, your pastor sees it, and they all

  619. see it.

  620. Out of God.

  621. Sees everything at all times. You can be sure he

  622. sees it. He knows who you are inside. He knows

  623. what you're trying to cover up inside. When you open

  624. your mouth. When Jacob opened his mouth, Isaac said, it

  625. sounds like Jacob, something's not right, something's off. And when

  626. you open your mouth, your true colors begin to shine.

  627. The Bible said Jesus said, I believe it was Jesus.

  628. Out of the abundance of the heart. The mouth speaks.

  629. You say, how does my voice portray me? Well, because

  630. your heart is not cleansed. How does my voice portray me?

  631. Because your heart's filthy? And when you talk, your heart talks.

  632. Man, we hear the filth.

  633. And Isaac can tell something's wrong about that conversation. Something's

  634. wrong about that voice. Jacob told on himself. When he

  635. opened his mouth. He let everybody know, including old Isaac,

  636. something's not right. I can't mimic I'm not a I'm

  637. not a master at mimicry. Brother Samuel's pretty good. And

  638. if I was Brother Samuel and I was in Jacob's shoes,

  639. I'd be trying to talk, well, her dad, it's it's

  640. you saw you know, I'll be trying to talk about

  641. my big brother, Amen. But he either didn't try or

  642. he just wasn't that good. Because Isaac sure enough knew

  643. something wasn't right about that voice. Jacob gave it away

  644. with his voice when he talked, but Isaac was.

  645. Too blind to say it.

  646. Isaac was too blind to say it.

  647. Send the Bible, it's the word of God. I want

  648. to say this. Isaac was too blind to see it.

  649. And when I thought about that, I realize there's some

  650. people that go to churches and.

  651. Thank the Lord not here.

  652. But there's some people that go to churches that have

  653. pastors that are Isaac's.

  654. They're just as spiritually blind as I don't know what.

  655. And I'm sure they look at some of those situations

  656. that's in their pews and they feel, just like Isaac

  657. and Jacob did. There's the Jacob and the pastors of Isaac,

  658. and the pastor can tell something ain't right. Something's going

  659. on between that man and that woman, Something's going on

  660. with that man and that child, But I'm too blind

  661. to say it. The way they are giving away, I

  662. can tell something ain't right, but I'm too old to care,

  663. and I'm too blind to see.

  664. There's some so called pastors that are like Isaac, and

  665. they need.

  666. Some spiritual lives because they's spiritual lies or so blind

  667. that can't see the deception and the view. Then they

  668. deca discern the ones that just are wearing goat skins.

  669. They're just there in body, but their mind's far from it.

  670. They're there in body, but their hearts far from it.

  671. Hen and they know something wrong. They know something's off,

  672. but they can't put their finger on it. God's neither

  673. old nor blind. You might be able to hide from

  674. some pastor up the street, some past her up the river.

  675. You might be able to get in a pew, throw

  676. your goat skin on.

  677. Make sure it's tucked just right, so that every square

  678. into your neck is covered. So if Isaac digs around

  679. a little bit, I've got it all under wraps. He

  680. can't even get his little finger up in there to

  681. feel my bare neck.

  682. That might be the case that some of them.

  683. Churches up the road where that little coat skin collar works.

  684. But God ain't blind, God ain't holding. He can see

  685. through that foolishness. He can throw see through that facade.

  686. He can see through that ghost skin. And if you're

  687. getting quiet on me, well you're just holding your ghost

  688. skin up like this.

  689. Go ahead and tell on yourself.

  690. Jacob, Go ahead, big bites hop easy, go ahead, go

  691. ahead and show me you're hiding something. Go ahead and

  692. show me that you got a big old meat coat on.

  693. Ain't that what they call that, them, big old man

  694. furry coachs. Go ahead and wave your ghostkin in the air. Right,

  695. I'm not mad. I already told you I'm trying to

  696. help somebody. I didn't ask for this message.

  697. I love it. I love it, and I'm enjoying preaching it.

  698. But I'm telling you, I think God wants to help

  699. somebody to kill the wolf within. I think God wants

  700. to help somebody to take off the goatskin and say, God, here's.

  701. My tenuline health, here's all of me.

  702. I believe there's hope. I believe there's hope for you.

  703. I believe God wants to help you in that situation.

  704. But you can't lie and say, oh, yes, Isaac, it's me,

  705. he Saul, do.

  706. It, ain't it's you. Can't go.

  707. Quit lying to Isaac, quit telling Isaac, Oh, it's me,

  708. your oldest son.

  709. No, it ain't, Isaac.

  710. Tell God who you really are. Let God know who

  711. you really are. Let God know your secret parts. Tell

  712. God here I am Lord. This is what I need

  713. help with God. This is where I'm suddenly at. This

  714. is what I can't over time God, this is where

  715. I need your help.

  716. You might be used to being around.

  717. Some people that knew enough to know something wasn't right

  718. because in place their finger on it. But God didn't

  719. give us a blind leader, and neither one of us

  720. intend to fall in the ditch. God didn't give us

  721. a blind pastor. God didn't give us Isaac for a pastor.

  722. Thank God for it. But he gave us a man

  723. of God that can see to the heart of the issue.

  724. And he can't get where we're at, and he could

  725. talk to us, then he.

  726. Can help us. God has given Bethel, the man of God.

  727. With the spiritual sight to see the wolf within, to

  728. look past the facade, to.

  729. Look past.

  730. Yus. God's given us a man of God that don't

  731. allow us to leave the way to your matters. Hey,

  732. manbody helps us in all aspects of our lives. Brother

  733. Samuel read in chapter number seven of Eth of Matthew,

  734. Chapter seven of Matthew, Verse number fifteen. Jesus said, beware

  735. of false prophets which came to you, which come to

  736. you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolfs.

  737. False prophets would come to you in sheep's clothing, portraying

  738. themselves to be something that they wasn't, acting like they

  739. were something that they are not. That's when we must

  740. be harmless as doves and wisest servants. That's when we

  741. must take the word of God rightly divided, and see

  742. to it that we're not deceived, nor are we deceiving.

  743. Amen.

  744. You know those Pharisees dressed in their long robes. Jesus

  745. had something to say about that. Jesus had something to

  746. say about that. They looked like they were it. They

  747. looked like they were the men. They looked like they

  748. were somebody. They looked like they had it down. You

  749. couldn't lay a finger on them. You ask him anything

  750. on the law, Johnny on the spot, You asked them

  751. anything about what Moses wrote, Well, they tell you forwards

  752. and backwards.

  753. They knew the law. They looked the part, but inside

  754. brother Nathaniel said it dead men's bones. Amen.

  755. People come making what seems to be reasonable, since false

  756. prophets will come. And when we listen to what they

  757. say at face value, makes sense that goat skin is

  758. getting the job done. Eat saw's shirt, that smells like

  759. the wood. It's getting the job done. It's doing just enough.

  760. But when we look deeper, and we look below the below,

  761. the out of layer, then we realize something's off inside.

  762. From the outward appearance, all might seem well and good.

  763. But listen closely because their voice. Listen closely, because their

  764. speech will betray them. Their speech will give them away

  765. if you listen close enough, If you listen close enough

  766. to those false prophets, what they say won't come to pass.

  767. Their prophecies will come to naught. And then you'll tell

  768. it's a false prophet. And that's a woof wearing sheep's clothing.

  769. Their voice, the things they say will betray them. I

  770. want to ask those false prophets, what about those prophecies

  771. you prophesied years ago?

  772. Where are they at today?

  773. Where are they at when you put a timeline on

  774. that prophecy? Brother Beuford, you know what we're talking about,

  775. I've seen men claim to be prophets of God. They

  776. say this will happen in such and such time, but

  777. just give it a little time. That speech betrayed them.

  778. And if you're wise enough to listen, if you're.

  779. Wise enough to hear, you'll realize their voice betray them.

  780. You don't realize what they said gave them away.

  781. Amen.

  782. The sheeps, they're in sheep's clothing. Hourly they seem innocent

  783. and harmless. Hourly they seem like they mean no ill

  784. to any man or to anyone. But inside the Bible

  785. said the ravening wolves, ravening wolves, and they're just waiting

  786. to plunder and to destroy. They're just looking for the opportunity.

  787. Right when they get you where they watch you, then

  788. they pounce the false prophet's voice and words would tell

  789. on them. And when you've got a cloak on, when

  790. you've got just a covering, when you've got something that

  791. you're just trying to hide what you really are inside,

  792. when you've got a cloak on and you're just trying

  793. to deceive those around you, there's always something that tells

  794. on you. You can't cover every base. It is completely

  795. impossible for you to hide everything from God and the

  796. men of God.

  797. You can do a pretty good job at it. You

  798. can do a pretty.

  799. Good job at it, but in time, your sins shall

  800. find you out.

  801. It could be your mouth it gives you away.

  802. It could be the way you talk, It could be

  803. the way you act to your co workers. And nobody

  804. else knows, but your co workers know you're not Esau.

  805. You're pretending to be somebody that you're not. You're actually Jacob.

  806. You know who you say you are. What if your

  807. co workers came to church. I think about that all

  808. the time, constantly. What if my coworkers and I pray

  809. to God one day they do. I've got some that

  810. I love dearly, and I believe God would love to help.

  811. But what if they came to sit on a pew

  812. beside me in a year and they know I preach.

  813. I don't go around telling them. I don't even know

  814. how they found out. To be honest with you, I

  815. don't tell them. I don't talk about it. I don't

  816. talk about religion. They know I'm a Christian, they know

  817. I don't cuss. They started a cuss jar the other day,

  818. a curse jar to where every time they curse they

  819. have to give one dollar or ten push ups. So

  820. I told them let me join. They wouldn't let me

  821. because they knew I'd never be contributing.

  822. Amen. They knew.

  823. They laughed at me, and I laughed with them. I said, y'all,

  824. I said, come on, man, why.

  825. Y'all being like that? Let me join. I won't end.

  826. They wouldn't let me. But I think all the time.

  827. I think all the time.

  828. About what if in a year they came to church

  829. with me and got truly born again, that truly saved,

  830. and they sat beside me in the view and then

  831. they said, now, Jesse, I've been working with you for

  832. five and a half nearly six years now, and what

  833. you're up there preaching, it's completely contrary to the way

  834. you act at the break table. You preach against laughing

  835. at those dirty jokes. You get up there and you

  836. reprimand those people and you tell them you ought not

  837. to do it. And I think about it, and what

  838. if in a few years they sit on a pew

  839. and they find me a hypocrite, they find out that

  840. I was just wearing goat skin.

  841. I hope that this message makes sense.

  842. I hope we're understanding what I feel like the Holy

  843. Ghost gave me. What if they realize you were all

  844. talk and you didn't even believe what you said. You

  845. talk to me about my fornicating and I do, and

  846. I don't preach to them.

  847. They tell me, I think they thank me for it.

  848. I tell them, you ought not to be doing that

  849. to your wife and your children, that you got at home,

  850. going out committing adultery like that and think nothing of it,

  851. come back the next day talking to the world, talking,

  852. talking on the job about it. Ask them if they

  853. ever come if I tell them I do, I tell

  854. them that's wrong. You know better than that, They say,

  855. I know, man, I throw up every time I do it.

  856. I say, why do you do it? What if they

  857. come into that house? What if they come into God's

  858. house and they find out I ain't really what I

  859. say I am. What if they find out I really

  860. am just wearing goat skin, just a covering, just a cloak.

  861. It could be your mouth. It gives you away. You

  862. will give yourself away. You will give yourself away. I'll

  863. say it again, you will give yourself away. It could

  864. be your talk, It could be what you say. It

  865. could be your eyes, you know, eyes are a big

  866. tell tale Eyes will tell a lot about a person.

  867. I remember years ago a man came and preached our pastor.

  868. Had he preach and tried to help his family, but

  869. he preached on wondering eyes. You can tell a lot

  870. about somebody when you watch their eyes. And if somebody

  871. sees somebody looking all the time, well you're looking to

  872. so God help you. You say, I don't look blessed God,

  873. Yes you do. There's always a telltale sign when someone

  874. only has a disguise on. When you have no true

  875. change in your life, there's telltale signs. The people around

  876. you know it, the people around you see it. I've

  877. got more notes. I'm gonna skip my last cotext as

  878. we close. Peter's denial of Jesus. As he sat by

  879. the fire, Peter sat around the fire. Peter sat around

  880. the fire with those heathens, with those mockers. I believe

  881. Peter did everything he could to blend in. He did

  882. everything he could, did not stick out. If there was

  883. a goat skin around, I believe Peter would have crawled

  884. in it. Peter tried to disappear. Just blend in, Just

  885. be one of the many. Just be one of all

  886. the other ones sitting around the fire. I believe if

  887. Peter had a shirt that he knew they would recognize,

  888. he would have changed that shirt.

  889. That's my heart.

  890. I feel like if Peter had a pair of sandals

  891. on that he knew everybody's seen me with Jesus in

  892. these sandals, I believe he would have went home and

  893. either went barefoot or no sandals. I believe Peter did

  894. everything he could, just like Jacob, to blend in, to just.

  895. Be one of the multitude.

  896. But something gave Peter away. Brother Nathaniel read in our

  897. text something go Peter away. He was his voice, the

  898. way he talked. Those people that sat around that fire,

  899. they said, your speech beraeth thee which is betrayeth. Your

  900. speech gives you away. You talk like a Galilean. You

  901. talk like those that used to run with that crowd

  902. that Peter denies Jesus the whole while his speech gave

  903. him away. He tried to be somebody he wasn't. He

  904. tried to cloak himself, He tried to hide himself the

  905. whole while he was not who he said he was.

  906. Luke gives us a little more information there on Peter's

  907. denial and the Bible said by the hand of Luke.

  908. As he moved on by the Holy Ghost, he said

  909. that it's Peter's cursing and said, I know not what

  910. you're talking about. I'm not one of them. That's not

  911. who I am. Now Peter lived the flip side of this.

  912. They said he was with Jesus. He said I was not.

  913. Many today say I am with Jesus, and the Bible

  914. says you are not, and your speech betrays you. Luke said,

  915. it's Peter's in the middle of all that denying and

  916. all that saying I'm not who you think I am.

  917. Pastors saying you're who you think you who are who

  918. you are, and you're saying I'm not that that's not

  919. who I am. You don't know me, you don't know

  920. who I am.

  921. You're all twisted up.

  922. All those people around the fire try Peter tried his

  923. best to convince him that they were he they were

  924. a bunch of idiots, that they didn't know what they

  925. were talking about. They said, your speech betrays you, Peter.

  926. You act like one, you talk like one. Y'all remember

  927. the old saying, looks like a duck, quacks like a

  928. duck waddles like a duck.

  929. It's a duck. Peter, you walk like one. Peter. The

  930. way you speak, you talk like one. I know you're

  931. one of them. Oh I am not.

  932. You don't know what you're talking about. Yes you are, No,

  933. I ain't. Yes you are no, I ain't childish. Give

  934. up and let God be true. Drop the disguise, lay

  935. the clue to the side, and let God be true,

  936. Luke said. The Lord looked right through Peter. Peter's there,

  937. making an absolute full of himself.

  938. I am not.

  939. God looked at Peter. The games was over. I told

  940. you Jesus wasn't blind. Jesus ain't blind. God ain't blind,

  941. or Pastor ain't blind. They see what they see, and

  942. they know what they know. Peter went and arre you

  943. with God. Peter didn't Are you with Jesus. Jesus didn't

  944. say a word. He looked at Peter, and Peter knew

  945. the charade was over. He knew the game was over.

  946. And Peter, if you will, took off that old goat skin.

  947. He threw it to the.

  948. Side, and he went out and he wept bitterly and say, God,

  949. I am what they said.

  950. I am. I was with you. I am exactly what

  951. they're saying. I am.

  952. I walked with you. My speech gave me away. How

  953. about not arguing with God? Let's stand if you're able.

  954. How about enough with this charade. How about serving God

  955. honestly this time? How about this time coming with a

  956. pure heart seems futile my effort here. How about coming

  957. to an altar tonight and say, God, you want to

  958. work a plan in my life?

  959. You want to work a will in my life.

  960. Everybody has their own way of how that they think

  961. it's gonna get done. Rebecca has her way, she thinks

  962. it's gonna get done. But how about Jacob, when you

  963. come before the Father tonight? Oh God, you take that

  964. goat off, that goat skin off, and you say, God,

  965. I'm not who Mamma saying, I am?

  966. I'm really not? He saw God.

  967. Really it's me, Jacob. And I'd love to see that

  968. promise come to pass. I'd love to see that perfect

  969. plan that you've laid out for me come to pass.

  970. And Isaac, if this is not the time Mama wanted

  971. me to come in here and bring you this meet.

  972. Mama wanted me to put this goat's hair on my

  973. neckd on my hands. But if this is not the time, Father,

  974. I'll just lay it aside and I'll wait on your time.

  975. How about laying the goat skin aside? How About letting

  976. God work when he was ready. How About laying the

  977. deception to the side and letting God move in his time.

  978. How about quite quit trying to fool everybody. You going

  979. through a lot of work killing that goat. You're going

  980. through a lot of work trying to wash all the

  981. guts off of that goat skin, just so you can

  982. fool somebody.

  983. Just be honest with the man.

  984. Just be honest with the father, Jacob, Just be honest

  985. with your father.

  986. Tell him God, this is not me. Let's pray if

  987. you feel like it. I've given altar call tonight.

  988. I wonder if we have anybody here tonight with an

  989. honest heart. They say, I lay aside the disguise or

  990. laying aside to the facade.

  991. Hey, and I come before you honestly, laying aside.

  992. Hey, all the pretense, all the actions, all the fake,

  993. all the phony. God, Your will be done, God, Your

  994. will be done in your time.
