  1. Good morning. God is good.

  2. It's another wonderful moment in the presence of God.

  3. And always, as usual, in the presence of God, as always, the

  4. fullness of joy. And today we're going to

  5. continue with our series, just like Julian mentioned on Life

  6. Bull. And today we'll be talking about

  7. value sharing, which is Christ's The Searchlights quickly.

  8. We have done 3 Series already. Could you remind me one of them?

  9. You told me 111 from this side, one from here, 1 from here.

  10. So let's go, somebody. I need to volunteer from this

  11. side. Value 1.

  12. Biblical truth. Thank you.

  13. Rule 2. Rule 2.

  14. OK, I'll come back to you. This rule.

  15. Yeah, thank our very close to each that is humbly 7 decree

  16. sharing. Yeah, the number two I'm back to

  17. you now. Oh no, no, not you Ben.

  18. OK, I'm going to help you presence of God, the fuel and

  19. today we're going to continue on that and that's talking about

  20. our value as a church to be Christ's such land.

  21. I'm going to take our main test today from the book of Matthew.

  22. Matthew chapter 5 from verse 14 to 16 said you are the light of

    Matthew 5 chapter mention

  23. the world. A town built on a hill cannot be

  24. eaten, neither do people light a lamp and put it under a ball.

  25. Instead they put it on it's stand and it gives light to

  26. everyone in the house. In the same way, let your lights

  27. shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and

  28. glorify your Father in heaven. I want to ask another question.

  29. I don't want to make everybody uncomfortable, but I just have

  30. to ask this When was the last time you as an individual,

  31. intentionally reach out to someone who does not know Jesus

  32. Christ? When was the last time?

  33. Think about that. I'm not talking about someone

  34. you've met before or someone that is to enable anything that

  35. someone that owes this person has not really met Canada.

  36. You deliberately approach that person and you share the word of

  37. God with that person. When was the last time?

  38. Friday. Friday.

  39. Also, God is good. Thank you.

  40. More grace, more grace. Thank you very much.

  41. That's the first commandment in the New Testament, but you are

  42. coming. Praise God, Praise God.

  43. I'm happy that we've got people here that are really sharing the

  44. gospel of Christ, but that is one of the great assignment that

  45. we have been given as Christians.

  46. You know. Christianity was never designed

  47. to be a private. Club, you know.

  48. We are just to go out there to share the gospel of God.

  49. If God has gone something new for you, it's you know, if you

  50. really enjoyed it, you need to share it with others that come.

  51. Come and see what I'm enjoying. Come and see what I'm doing to

  52. this our new. God, you know.

  53. It is always very good for us to go out there to share the

  54. goodness of God with everyone around us, to share the love of

  55. God, to share the world of salvation.

  56. The tragedy of our hate at the moment is that darkness exists.

  57. True, it's dead, but the tragedy will continue when we as the

  58. light refuses to shine. So we are the light of the world

  59. that God has sent into this darkness to shine, to shine, to

  60. bring hope, to talk about salvation, to talk about the

  61. goodness of God. And one of the things that is

  62. very evident in our world today is hopelessness.

  63. But in Christ we've got that hope because we've got that hope

  64. firmly in Christ Jesus. And we are expected to share and

  65. to spread that hope with our community, at work, with our

  66. neighbours, people we know, people we don't know.

  67. And that is one of the great thing that is very important for

  68. us. I'm going to remind us of one of

  69. the greatest movies that I saw so many years ago.

  70. I know some of you will have seen it before.

  71. How many of us could remember that story of Titanic?

  72. Many of us remember this story right on the night of April 15,

  73. 1912, the RMS Titanic sank in the North Atlantic.

  74. Over 1500 people died, and these people died not because there

  75. were no lifeboats, but because there were not enough.

  76. And because some of the lifeboats that launched that

  77. night were not full, when we look at this picture, I don't

  78. know if you can say it clearly. Imagine these lifeboats, which

  79. is equipped with satellites filled with survivors, floating

  80. in the dark water, hearing the cries of the people around them,

  81. and the crew decides we are safe.

  82. That's the picture there. We are safe.

  83. We don't want to disturb ourselves.

  84. It is so risky for us to go back and save these people.

  85. Let's just stay here in our comfort zone.

  86. Thank God that we are safe. Whatever happens to the rest,

  87. it's their problem. It's not our problem.

  88. You. I can imagine that you could

  89. hear the cries of people around them, but because they are

  90. enjoying the warmth in their own lifeboats, they refuse to invite

  91. or to go back to those people to actually support them.

  92. This caused a lot of people to actually die, and people died in

  93. that water church. That is a picture of what the

  94. church becomes when we forget our purpose, when we sit in our

  95. comfort zone and a lot of souls are being lost out there.

  96. But just because we are comfortable in our own space, we

  97. decided that, well, I'm saved. Whatever happens to them, thank

  98. God I'm sick. Oh thank you Jesus.

  99. That's not the purpose for us. A lifeboat does not stay at the

  100. harbour admiring his own paintball while people drown in

  101. the ocean. It purpose is to go to search

  102. and to rescue, to save life, sometimes even at his own

  103. personal cost. So we are not there to just

  104. decorate ourselves that yes, I'm a Christian, I go to church

  105. every Sunday, I praise and sing, have a very wonderful community.

  106. We get on very well. Sing, we praise, we share.

  107. Yeah, that's awesome. Today God is asking us, will you

  108. become my such light in a world that is growing darker day by

  109. day? I just want you to reflect on

  110. this. We might have been saved.

  111. Yes, we have seen what's do we want more people to be saved as

  112. well? And if you want that, how are we

  113. going about it? What are we doing?

  114. What's effort, what state? What's our feeling being

  115. intentional about this? I want us to think about this.

  116. How do we reach the lost? I'm going to share just three

  117. points before I close this summon.

  118. How do we reach the lost? I'm going to be giving us 3

  119. frame walls, OK? And that is we share Christ with

  120. our life, we share life with our lives, and we share Christ with

  121. the Lord. I'm going to break this down.

  122. You know. The Bible says that you are the

  123. source of the heart. In the book of Matthew, chapter

    Matthew 5 chapter mention

  124. 5 first 13 to 16 said you are the salt of a heart.

  125. But if the salt loses its saltness, saltiness, how can it

  126. be made salty again? It is no longer good news for

  127. anything except to be thrown out and trampled under the foot.

  128. You are the light of the world. A city that is built cannot be

  129. hidden. So let your light shine before

  130. all this, and they may see your good deeds and verify your

  131. Father in heaven. You see, before anyone listens

  132. to you, before anyone listening to what you have to say, they're

  133. already studying who you are. Your life, our life, my life is

  134. the first sermon that anyone could see.

  135. Our character is the first message.

  136. And whether we know it or not, someone is watching.

  137. Someone is watching. And then they can decide, oh,

  138. how is this person handling pressure?

  139. He says he trusts God. Is this really trusting God with

  140. all the pressure that he's been going through?

  141. They are watching how our feet affect others.

  142. They are watching how we are managing our home, how we are

  143. managing our marriage. They are watching whether we are

  144. the same person, you know, on weekdays and on Sundays.

  145. They are watching whether our joy is true or we are just

  146. faking it. They are watching in the book of

  147. Corinths Second Corinthians chapter 3.

    2 Corinthians 3 chapter mention

  148. Well said. We are the living epistles

  149. that's being read by our men. We are the Bible that some

  150. people will read before they actually break the Bible.

  151. So what are they reading about us?

  152. Are we living a life that is worth emulating?

  153. Are we living a life that people could actually say?

  154. I guess this is truly a light. This is truly a salt.

  155. This is truly someone I would love to emulate.

  156. This is truly, I would love to follow this church or to listen

  157. to church. I want us to look at this and

  158. think about this salt and light. That is what we are.

  159. You know, Jesus Christ intentionally used the word salt

  160. and light. He did not use the word gold.

  161. You know, before we can get gold, we have to D, we have to

  162. purify, we have to shine and stuff like that.

  163. But use the word salt and light. You know the reason because we

  164. are, you know, to preserve. You know, one of the

  165. characteristics of salt is to preserve.

  166. And before it can preserve, there must be a sort of contact

  167. to inhibit any sort of microorganism that we want to

  168. grow. So when you look at it, salt

  169. function by contact, salt preserves by being present in

  170. pins it is preserving and salt also flavours by being mixed.

  171. You know when we put salt in our fruit, we mix it together to get

  172. even to salt Mix and salt creates thirst and lights.

  173. When you are a light, what you can, you can't be easy.

  174. When you are there, you are there.

  175. When you enter a room, everybody knows that a light has fully

  176. come. You don't need any sort of any

  177. explanation. That is who we are.

  178. A light does not explain itself. Light enters the room and what

  179. happens? The darkness disappears.

  180. That is who we are. The problem that many believers

  181. have is that sometimes we use our saltiness.

  182. We have become so much like what is applicable in the world

  183. because we are following the world standard and gradually we

  184. are integrating ourselves into the things of the world because

  185. that is what is generally applicable and we are just

  186. aligning ourselves to that. You know.

  187. Our lifestyle look the same, our marriage look the same.

  188. You know. Our financial decision reached

  189. the same, our response to crisis the same, our joy just look the

  190. same. We, we are not really enjoying

  191. the content of what God really plans for us because we are just

  192. aligning to what the world wants.

  193. When you remember the Elliot Elliot Church, the early church,

  194. they turned down world upside down.

  195. How they had none of what was considered essential in ministry

  196. today, No building, no amplification system, no social

  197. media platform, no marketing budget, no Christian television

  198. network, then they were small. They were even constituted.

  199. They were minority under the one of the most powerful Kingdom

  200. then under the Roman Empire. But what happened thereafter?

  201. God used the church to really transform a lot of things.

  202. You know, because when when plague swept Roman Empire then

  203. and everyone could not afford, everyone could afford to run

  204. away, only the Christians stood by.

  205. You're able to go through the persecution.

  206. You know. They stayed behind.

  207. They care for the sick. When the Roman society discarded

  208. the poor, the widow, the orphan, the Christian, then they picked

  209. them up. They were pragmatic, they were

  210. intentional. They were able to serve and that

  211. was what gave the Roman Empire to like who are these minority

  212. that are doing great things? They were minority or because of

  213. their intention, because of the good works that they are doing,

  214. a bigger empire could actually notice and reckon them that

  215. because of their impact in that society, that is what we have.

  216. Our impact must be seen, our impact must be evidence.

  217. When everyone complaints, be that one that bring the

  218. perspective of peace. When everyone seems everywhere

  219. that is seems to be sort of hopelessness, you know, let our

  220. joy overflow because we have the greater one that lives in ours

  221. and that is what is expected of us as Christians.

  222. Let's our life share the goodness of Christ because

  223. sometimes or most times wear the Bible that others are reading.

  224. And some people, they might not really have the opportunity to

  225. read that Bible, but what they say is that, oh, he goes to

  226. church, He does this, He does that.

  227. And I want to follow him because I can see the impact of what is

  228. following the impact of God in his life.

  229. That is what we have the salt and the light to this

  230. generation. My number 2L is share Christ

  231. with your lips. I've got three LS.

  232. Share with your life, share with your lips, share with the Lord.

  233. That's our number three points. Share Christ with your lips.

  234. When we go to the Bible in the book of Mark chapter 16 said to

    Mark 16 chapter mention

  235. them, go into the world and preach the gospel to operation

  236. said we should go into the world, we should preach the

  237. gospel. How do we preach the gospel?

  238. Go out there and preach the gospel.

  239. And for us to preach that gospel, it reminded us in the

  240. book of Romans 6167. For I am not ashamed of the

  241. gospel because it is the power of God that brings salvation to

  242. everyone who believes, first to the Jews, then to the Gentile.

  243. You know many of us who have become experts, just living a

  244. good Christian life, quietly private you, and sometimes we

  245. are invisible. I just want to do my things and

  246. I'm just fine. Oh, I can talk to them.

  247. No, I can't do that. You know.

  248. But on social media, we are champions, we are bold, we can

  249. talk. You know.

  250. And in Sundays we could be very passionate people will be, you

  251. know, doing everything from Monday to to Saturday at work

  252. and unable with our families. You know.

  253. We are very active and very effective, but we are undercover

  254. Christians when it comes to preaching.

  255. I can do that. It's not for me.

  256. I'm not bold. I know I'm too classic for that.

  257. No, just now. That's not who we are as

  258. Christians. The gospel is not a lifestyle.

  259. It is an announcement. It's an announcement of good

  260. news. It is meant to be declared.

  261. It is meant to be shared. And Paul, who had every woman

  262. reason to be ashamed, He had been a Pharisee, the persecutor

  263. of Christians, the man with blood on his hand.

  264. All stand sore and say, I am not ashamed, So why are you ashamed?

  265. Why are we ashamed? Why Paul wasn't ashamed because

  266. he understood that the gospel actually is not just a religious

  267. preference. It is not just a private

  268. philosophy, but it is the power of God in him that is being

  269. expressed. Church this morning.

  270. I just want to encourage us to share more with our words, with

  271. the word of our testimonies, with what God has done.

  272. Sometimes the testimony we share is an encouragement to another

  273. person. The testimonies we share is a

  274. reference point for another person to actually act in faith.

  275. The testimony we share could actually affect a generation in

  276. life. You know when you look at the

  277. family tree, because somebody has got that light, it spreads

  278. down with the first generation. I'm going to be using an

  279. example, 1 encounter and one city chain.

  280. We all remember that woman that was at the well to get water in

  281. the afternoon and Jesus went to her.

  282. You know. You know, normally they

  283. shouldn't have made what they met and they were interacting

  284. and Jesus told her, said you have married five times.

  285. Even the husband you've got is not even the right person for

  286. you. And he was like, how do you know

  287. that? Are you a prophet?

  288. Remember that story in the book of John chapter 4 things?

    John 4 chapter mention

  289. I mean, and you know, she's got 5 field marriages.

  290. She's living with a man who was in her husband.

  291. She was the last person anyone in this city would actually

  292. choose to be an evangelist. But what happened if she had an

  293. encounter with Jesus Christ? She did not stay there.

  294. She said, yeah, come and see, come and see.

  295. I have seen a man that's told me all the history of my life.

  296. She had an encounter and she didn't keep that encounter to

  297. herself. And she went out there.

  298. Oh, come and see, come and see a man who told me everything I

  299. ever did. I even told me about the five

  300. previous marriages. I've not told him before and he

  301. told me who is this man? Come Sonic, Sir, he had an

  302. encounter with the Lord and that encountered spread round the

  303. city and it was reported that a lot of people changed their

  304. life, changed their way, and they became Christian just by

  305. the word of her mouth and the testimony she cheered upon an

  306. encounter she had with Jesus Christ.

  307. We can do the same. We can do better.

  308. That's not been good for us, what has been good for us.

  309. So we need to share it, we need to express it.

  310. We need to go out there and talk more about the goodness of God.

  311. She did not hide it. The Bible says that many

  312. Samaritans from that city believe in Jesus just because of

  313. our testimony. Do you know your testimony could

  314. do something better like that? Our testimony is powerful and we

  315. can do better. We also remember the story of in

  316. Luke chapter 15 verse four to seven.

    Luke 15 chapter mention

  317. You know, suppose one of you has 100 sheep and this is one of

  318. them. Doesn't he live in 99 in the

  319. open country and go after the lost sheep until it is fine?

  320. And when he finds it, he joyfully put seeds on his

  321. shoulder and blossom? Then he called his friend and

  322. neighbours together and said, Rejoice with me, I have found my

  323. lost sheep. I'll tell you that is the same

  324. way. That would be more rejoicing in

  325. heaven over 1 Sinner who repent than over 99 righteous person

  326. who do not need to repent. How are we making even to

  327. rejoice? Are we making even rejoice in

  328. our ways? You know well you know Jesus

  329. made me told these parables. You know when you look at that

  330. Luke 15, there were about 3 parables there.

  331. That means the parable of the lost sheep, the lost coin and

  332. the prodigal son. But one thing you see that the

  333. following sort of a pattern that's talking about come back

  334. home, come back home by so much of joy.

  335. You know the Shebad does not allow us from the farm he grows.

  336. He leaves the 99 and focus on one just to bring that one to

  337. tell you how precious every lost soul is.

  338. So I will go and he has sent us to this world to make sure that

  339. all these Lords soul are brought back into His Kingdom.

  340. Our deity here is to depopulate the Kingdom of darkness and

  341. populate the Kingdom of God. And if we are not doing that, we

  342. still have a lot of work to do. We are here to depopulate the

  343. Kingdom of darkness and populated Kingdom of God because

  344. every soul, every repentance, every lawsuit that is coming

  345. back home and so much of rejoicing and so much of

  346. dancing. And then do we have to want, we

  347. need to have more of that. So I'm just challenging us this

  348. week. That's as we go to our work, to

  349. our various offices. That colleague you have been

  350. nervous to talk to, that's member of your family that's you

  351. have tried to avoid for so many years, that neighbour who look

  352. like they have it all together, but you know that everything is

  353. falling about. Just know that Evan has not

  354. given up on them and neither should we.

  355. If everyone has not giving up on them, we must not give up on

  356. them. What do we do this week?

  357. What do we do? Shine our light.

  358. Let's approach them, let's talk to them, let's encourage them.

  359. Let's be the source. Let's stage, let's make it

  360. spicy, let's make it tasty, let it go around, let's preserve

  361. when we enter that from let that light and that's who we are.

  362. May the Lord help us in Jesus name, share Christ with the Lord

  363. in all this. When we look at the Great

  364. Commission in Matthew chapter 28, said, therefore go and make

    Matthew 28 chapter mention

  365. disciples of all men, said baptising them in the name of

  366. the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit and teaching

  367. them to obey everything that I have commanded you.

  368. And surely, and this is the very important part of it for us.

  369. Let's look at the last sentence. Let's read together.

  370. Hi, I'm with you always to the very end of the age.

  371. You know, in all these things we are not by ourselves.

  372. He's there with us. He's giving us the right words

  373. to say. He's directing us with the

  374. sorrow Spirit, the next step to take.

  375. He's protecting us and that is His promise, that surely I'll be

  376. with you. And so when we are sharing this

  377. word, we know that God is with us.

  378. I'm not alone. When we go into a battle with

  379. the Lord, we are always victorious.

  380. When I'm with Jesus, there is no mountain, there is no problem,

  381. there is no situation that I cannot overcome.

  382. That is the Jesus we carry. That is who Jesus is.

  383. So in all we do, we go with him because he promised to be with

  384. us, even to the very end. We have no power of our own, no

  385. wisdom, no knowledge or the study.

  386. Sometimes you don't even want to be right.

  387. What to say? But because Jesus Christ lives

  388. in us, because he's our senior partner, he will tell us, He

  389. will direct us how to act, what's to say, how to handle it.

  390. Difficult question, difficult situation, unpleasant situation

  391. is there to give us the right word and how to go about it.

  392. So Jesus is telling us that we should go out there, that we

  393. should preach the gospel. What I know, we have so many

  394. things that are really disturbing us.

  395. And that is the reason why in the book of Second Timothy said

  396. God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of law

  397. and of a sound mind. Therefore, do not be a thing of

  398. the testimony of our Lord. Sometimes we know what to do,

  399. but that fear that's sort of disappointment that what if I

  400. share with this guy and he says no, I remember, you know, so

  401. many of our prayer work. I remember the last time I was

  402. with Paul to try to give a sort of.

  403. Pamphlets something to some of the believer and say some of

  404. them say no, no, but he was not discouraged until he got someone

  405. to eventually hand it to. For for as many people that I

  406. even married here, the last the first time you asked your wife

  407. how this is probably probably they won't say yes, but because

  408. you believe in this, you follow up and you continue asking the

  409. same thing. We can bring that to the gospel.

  410. Because someone tells us no yesterday doesn't mean he or she

  411. cannot say yes the next day. The tragedy is that when we give

  412. up, we don't give up, for we prayerfully continue to pray for

  413. that person and to see how that person could come over to the

  414. Lord side. You know, the enemy offers a

  415. spirit of fear, timidity that silences and telling us that

  416. what of if they reject me? And many of us cannot manage

  417. rejection. And because of that, I just want

  418. to maintain my peace. That is the work of the devil.

  419. That is the plan of the devil because God has a purpose for

  420. you to speak at that point, because there is a purpose that

  421. something that God want to do with that conversation.

  422. But because the devil came, what if she rejects you?

  423. OK, let me just leave. And that's all.

  424. But God gives us the power beyond ourselves.

  425. Give U.S. law that cast house fears and a clear and untroubled

  426. mind. That is what God gives us.

  427. A clear mind, untroubled mind, power beyond ourselves, contrary

  428. to what the devil is giving us, Fear, timidity and the fear of

  429. rejection. God is telling us here and God

  430. is reassuring that He has given us that love.

  431. He has given us that power beyond ourselves, what we could

  432. not control, and a clear and untroubled mind.

  433. You know, Paul was writing this in this second Timothy when he

  434. was in the prison. You know, he was trying to

  435. encourage Timothy then. He was probably probably afraid

  436. and doubting himself, you know. And Paul was in chains then was

  437. in the prison and Despite that still wrote this encouragement

  438. to encourage Timothy. That is who we are.

  439. We need to encourage one another.

  440. We need to support one another to make sure that this Great

  441. Commission that Jesus Christ has given us to do come to

  442. fulfilment. The devil will not want it to

  443. happen, but it is our own intentionality, is our own

  444. resilience that we make it happen.

  445. And I pray that God will help us to achieve this.

  446. You see, this generation does not need more hidden Christians,

  447. it needs a satellite. And who is the satellite?

  448. We are the satellite because we are the light of the world.

  449. In Matthew chapter 15, verse 14 reemphasizes that we are the

    Matthew 15:14

  450. light of the world. So if we are the light of the

  451. world, then we need to go out there, spread that light.

  452. The world is dark enough already.

  453. It does not need more darkness. It needs you, the light of

  454. Christ shining through His Church without apology, without

  455. fear, and without delay. That's to be noun.

  456. You don't have to postpone it because God has a purpose for

  457. everything. We must not wait till our own

  458. time. That oh, when I'm ready, I'm

  459. going to start doing it. No, now is the time.

  460. Now is the time. In closing, I just want you to

  461. think about one person, just one person.

  462. Someone in your world right now, probably at work, probably your

  463. family member or someone in your friendship circle who does not

  464. know Christ. Just imagine.

  465. Can you see their face? Do you know their name?

  466. OK, Now just imagine again, arriving in heaven.

  467. OK, you are arriving in heaven one day, and same person is

  468. there. Yeah, because you spoke, because

  469. you prayed, because you refuse to let your lifeboat stay

  470. comfortable at the harbour, or because you blew the trumpet.

  471. What a day that will be. How do you think that day will

  472. be? But imagine another possibility,

  473. standing before God with the knowledge that these people

  474. lived and died without Christ, and you were next to them for

  475. years, and you were afraid of what they would think about you.

  476. Or it was never the right moment at the right time, or you kept

  477. waiting until you were ready. George, there is no more time.

  478. Today's the day. This week is the week.

  479. There's only one person whose name comes to our mind and we

  480. just need to pray for them. Just imagine, how are we

  481. affecting our world? How have we been that Bible that

  482. people are reading? How have we been using the word

  483. of our testimony? How have we been using our lips?

  484. Have we been going out there just with our own strength or

  485. power? Have we been inviting God?

  486. Have we been going God with God with us?

  487. Let's think about this as we pray.

  488. Father, we thank you Lord for your faithfulness this morning.

  489. Lord, you have given us the opportunity to re regain about

  490. the need for us to be out there to share more of your world, to

  491. be delight to be sold for this world.

  492. All I pray even as we do is Lord that you help us.

  493. You give us the courage, you give us the right words to say.

  494. Your Holy Spirit will go ahead of us to direct our parts and

  495. when we even before we speak to people, Lord, that you will

  496. prepare their hearts. And for as many that we are

  497. praying for, Lord, we pray that they will see that light and

  498. they will move into your Kingdom, Lord, under your

  499. umbrella. Lord.

  500. Lord, for us, many that we are praying for in our

  501. neighbourhood, in our workplace, as we go this week, give us that

  502. boldness to even speak to them. Take away that fear Lord, take

  503. away every devices or every antics of the devil to prevent

  504. us from sharing this, but by your power strengthen us, Fill

  505. our hearts with so much of love, strength and love for you to do

  506. more and more. And at the end of it all, you

  507. know have reason to glorify your name together in heaven in Jesus

  508. name, Amen.
