[SPEAKER_00]: And we're going to look at a story in Joshua chapter one about how God gave his people and his leader three days to get ready for God's next move.

[SPEAKER_00]: Joshua, chapter one is where we will be today.

[SPEAKER_00]: As we continue our series called Ready.

[SPEAKER_00]: I want to speak today to the person who knows that God is about to move.

[SPEAKER_00]: You don't know when, but you feel that is close.

[SPEAKER_00]: as I anticipate what's imminent.

[SPEAKER_00]: Now, you could know God is about to move because you've been praying to the Lord about the same thing for a long time.

[SPEAKER_00]: Or, because the Lord told you some that Janie asked the Lord for, that I'm gonna do this in your future.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'm calling you to this, and you're trying to figure out what to do with your hands.

[SPEAKER_00]: Before it happens, you don't know when, but you said it's close.

[SPEAKER_00]: And if neither of those is you, we don't want you to listen still with a open heart.

[SPEAKER_00]: You may have somebody in your sphere of influence, who may need this message through you, or you may want to just tuck it away, because you'll see it in this common tune.

[SPEAKER_00]: Joshua chapter one is where we're going to be on the reverse too.

[SPEAKER_00]: I did them all so reverse tan and verse 11.

[SPEAKER_00]: You can find these notes in the Bible at one of events in search of the way community church.

[SPEAKER_00]: The word of the Lord says in Joshua chapter 1 verse number 2, now in vain, you and all these people get what church ready to cross the Jordan River into the land and I am about to give them to the Israelites.

[SPEAKER_00]: Verse 10 says, so Joshua ordered the officers of the people.

[SPEAKER_00]: Go through the camp and tell the people

[SPEAKER_00]: Get your provisions, what church?

[SPEAKER_00]: Ready, three days from now, you will cross the Jordan here to go in and take possession of the land.

[SPEAKER_00]: The Lord, your God, is giving you for your own.

[SPEAKER_00]: You may be seated in the presence of the living God.

[SPEAKER_00]: I wanna talk for a few minutes with this thought in mind.

[SPEAKER_00]: Ready for God's next move.

[SPEAKER_00]: Ready for God's.

[SPEAKER_00]: next move.

[SPEAKER_00]: Earlier this morning I walked in and we're greeting some of our attain members and I saw one of our production leaders I made.

[SPEAKER_00]: I mean if you may not know him but you benefit from his service and expertise.

[SPEAKER_00]: Mead is on our production team and he was dressed curiously today.

[SPEAKER_00]: I've never seen him dressed in a

[SPEAKER_00]: Interesting.

[SPEAKER_00]: I think it has something to do with the mighty victory on last night.

[SPEAKER_00]: If you don't watch football, it's fine.

[SPEAKER_00]: You didn't miss nothing because the Falcons weren't playing anyway.

[SPEAKER_00]: But the Chicago Bears won a game last night against one of their fierce rivals in Chicago and it gave

[SPEAKER_00]: To finally show his true colors, as a fan of the bears, what it did for me was reminded me of the city of Chicago and its significance in my life.

[SPEAKER_00]: That's because Chicago gave me the greatest gift that Bethlehem couldn't give.

[SPEAKER_00]: Bethlehem gave me Jesus, but Chicago gave me that thing.

[SPEAKER_00]: y'all who don't know my wife Ebony was born in Chicago and her parents are from there.

[SPEAKER_00]: And we frequent in Chicago, what I love about the city is, is architectural beauty.

[SPEAKER_00]: If you've never been, I don't know who all designed it.

[SPEAKER_00]: They did a good job aesthetically, you look at it.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's a river through the middle of the city and build things that are on each side of this river.

[SPEAKER_00]: You can be in the middle of downtown, dry five minutes to Lake Shore and you could be right on the beach.

[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, it's an amazing compilation of design and architecture and history, and I want to whisper when I say this because I don't want Atlanta to hear me and get jealous, but Chicago is my favorite city in America.

[SPEAKER_00]: Don't tell Atlanta, okay, don't tell Atlanta.

[SPEAKER_00]: I don't want Atlanta to get jealous.

[SPEAKER_00]: One of my favorite things about Chicago is when it comes to restaurants,

[SPEAKER_00]: It is the land of promise.

[SPEAKER_00]: If you go to Chicago, go hungry.

[SPEAKER_00]: You're welcome.

[SPEAKER_00]: Because you're going to find some of the best food you can get your hands on in the city of Chicago.

[SPEAKER_00]: And I just talked about the white tablecloths, because you can get that there.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'm also talking about a little hole in the walls, like Harold's chicken.

[SPEAKER_00]: where you can walk in and get you a three-piece chicken with a piece of Wonder Bread, some fries on the side, with some mouth sauce on the chicken for about $12.99.

[SPEAKER_00]: And eat good!

[SPEAKER_00]: It's the land of promise when it comes to restaurants.

[SPEAKER_00]: Ebony used to tell me of the trips they would take though between here and there, and before they could get to this land the promised were all the food awaited them.

[SPEAKER_00]: There was a trip that had to be taken, a transition period where provisions were needed.

[SPEAKER_00]: And I'm not jealous because we were an elementary school, so we kind of been together there anyway for real.

[SPEAKER_00]: But I hear that my mother-in-law used to fly chicken.

[SPEAKER_00]: to get them from Atlanta, to Chicago.

[SPEAKER_00]: Now, I don't know if you've ever seen my mother love.

[SPEAKER_00]: But as far as mother love goes, she finds that she can be.

[SPEAKER_00]: My mother love so fine, I'm married her daughter because I figure it.

[SPEAKER_00]: But what I don't understand is how she looks so good and cooks so good at the same time.

[SPEAKER_00]: She would have to fry chicken for them.

[SPEAKER_00]: And as I told, she would just fry as much chicken as she could all the chicken in the house.

[SPEAKER_00]: And it was so fast for provisions for the 12-hour drive.

[SPEAKER_00]: In other words, before they could get to where all they needed would be available, she had to make ready a little practical food in the meantime, so they could survive the transition to Chicago.

[SPEAKER_00]: And it reminds me of what's happening here in Joshua chapter one.

[SPEAKER_00]: God is about to do something God sized.

[SPEAKER_00]: He's about to give his people the promise land he has sworn on oath to give to their four parents.

[SPEAKER_00]: And now four generations removed from Genesis chapter 12 verse number one through three God is keeping God's word.

[SPEAKER_00]: But as he prepares to do so, he tells them, I need you to be ready for what I'm about to do next.

[SPEAKER_00]: I know you can't deliver yourself for yourself.

[SPEAKER_00]: I know you can't open the Jordan River.

[SPEAKER_00]: I got you.

[SPEAKER_00]: I did it at the RSC, a river can't stop me.

[SPEAKER_00]: I know you can't remove your enemies from the land without my help.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'm gonna do that for you too.

[SPEAKER_00]: I know as soon as you cross, it's gonna be some laws you need to bring down.

[SPEAKER_00]: I got you on that part.

[SPEAKER_00]: Here's what I need you to do though.

[SPEAKER_00]: I don't need you to do for you when only I can do for you.

[SPEAKER_00]: I need you to prepare in the meantime to survive the trip in before you get to have already fully supplied for you.

[SPEAKER_00]: I need you to be ready.

[SPEAKER_00]: Let the church shower ready.

[SPEAKER_00]: Ready is our 2026 theme.

[SPEAKER_00]: It is this prophetic rallying cry.

[SPEAKER_00]: It is what we believe the Lord is saying to us is what we hear the spirit saying to this church that we ought to be ready in.

[SPEAKER_00]: First Peter chapter 3, verse 15 is our theme verse, which reminds us to always be ready to give a reason for the hope that lies within us and the message Bible to keep our hearts at attention

[SPEAKER_00]: Right?

[SPEAKER_00]: And so we spent time in First Peter Chapter 3.

[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, last week, having a conversation about what it means to be ready spiritually.

[SPEAKER_00]: And we deduced two truths, and they are these.

[SPEAKER_00]: Number one, if I really want to be ready, if I really want to stay ready, I stay ready when the Lord is my Lord.

[SPEAKER_00]: Second of all, I stay ready when the gospel is my hope.

[SPEAKER_00]: If you want to read it yourself spiritually for a future, you can't predict, and an eternity you cannot predict, then make sure the Lord is your Lord.

[SPEAKER_00]: And the gospel is your hope.

[SPEAKER_00]: What you mean, Ralph?

[SPEAKER_00]: Here's what I mean.

[SPEAKER_00]: Jesus is already the Lord, right?

[SPEAKER_00]: And it's not just a bloody cross that proves that.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's a empty tone that proves that.

[SPEAKER_00]: Many people die on Roman crucifix.

[SPEAKER_00]: It doesn't matter, in fact, the day Jesus died, two other people die with Him.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's not just the death on the cross that makes Him Lord, it's beating death three days, later that makes Him Lord.

[SPEAKER_00]: To overcome the penalty of sin is what justifies Jesus as Lord of the cosmos, ruler of every created.

[SPEAKER_00]: Thank you.

[SPEAKER_00]: So the question is not if Jesus is the Lord, we already know at least intellectually that the historical person Jesus lived.

[SPEAKER_00]: Regardless of what you believe about His nature, you cannot deny His existence.

[SPEAKER_00]: The next step is to embrace His nature which is, you are the Lord, and all I can do is choose to make you my Lord.

[SPEAKER_00]: But if I want to be ready, spiritually, for whatever might come, that I can't predict, the only thing I can do is make the Lord, my Lord, hear me now, and make the gospel my hope.

[SPEAKER_00]: which I mean gospel.

[SPEAKER_00]: That word in earnest means good news.

[SPEAKER_00]: But it's a certain type of good news.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's a good news that's not time to principles, but tie to a person.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's the good news that Jesus was born that he lived the life without saying that he died of substitutionary death, that he was buried and rose again.

[SPEAKER_00]: He ascended to heaven and he's coming back to get us.

[SPEAKER_00]: That's the gospel in a nutshell.

[SPEAKER_00]: And for us, that's good news.

[SPEAKER_00]: why?

[SPEAKER_00]: Because that gospel, that good news has to become my hope, because that's the only hope that's a real hope.

[SPEAKER_00]: Every other hope, I ain't even really hope like that for real.

[SPEAKER_00]: You know what I mean about the things we have tried to place our hope in, that was not worthy of the full weight of our confidence.

[SPEAKER_00]: How many things have you placed your hope in and your hope was too heavy and it crumbled under your hope?

[SPEAKER_00]: You try to place your hope in people, and people do what, crumble on the your hope.

[SPEAKER_00]: You try to place your hope in money and money will eventually do what, crumble on the your hope.

[SPEAKER_00]: You try to place your hope in success and possessions, and eventually they'll do what, crumble on the your hope.

[SPEAKER_00]: But I want you to hear me as your pastor and brother and Christ, the good news of Jesus can hold the full weight of your hope without crumble.

[SPEAKER_00]: and give you something to come back to every time you all most of let go.

[SPEAKER_00]: And so I commend last week's message to you.

[SPEAKER_00]: You can find it on our YouTube or our podcast.

[SPEAKER_00]: Fourth with, I want us to move now into Joshua Chapter 1 where we move now from just being ready spiritually, to now being ready practically.

Joshua 1 · chapter mention

[SPEAKER_00]: We find ourselves at an interesting point.

[SPEAKER_00]: Joshua is a new book, but it's a connection to the same story that's been happening since Exodus.

[SPEAKER_00]: Back at Exodus, God called this man named Moses to be the first leader of Israel, and he used Moses to liberate his people.

[SPEAKER_00]: Moses liberates these people from Egyptian captivity after 400 years in Egypt, they then spend 40 years in the wilderness.

[SPEAKER_00]: After the 40 years in the wilderness, they're now prepared to go in to a land that God has promised, but right before

[SPEAKER_00]: to really appreciate Joshua one, you gotta go back a few chapters to Deuteronomy 31.

[SPEAKER_00]: Because in Deuteronomy 31, God told Moses, make Joshua your successor, right?

[SPEAKER_00]: Saying Lord, new leader, I am still God, I am replacing you with the one who has served you.

[SPEAKER_00]: Joshua succeeds Moses as the leader of God's people in chapter 32.

[SPEAKER_00]: Moses then sings the song of praise from his heart to God.

[SPEAKER_00]: This one hundred and twenty-year-old man who has lived three separate forty-year lives, tries to comprise them all together in a song of praise to God.

[SPEAKER_00]: For the first 40 years he lived with mistaken identity as an adopted son of Pharaoh's daughter who learned he was truly Hebrew in heritage and had to make a decision if he was going to continue to fake like he was an Egyptian or truly own if he was a Hebrew.

[SPEAKER_00]: As he owned it, he made a mistake trying to liberate a Hebrew from an Egyptian killed the Egyptian and it then made him famous among his people who actually made him infamous.

[SPEAKER_00]: So he was on the wrong.

[SPEAKER_00]: For the next 40, he thought he could hide from God in a desert and hide from his shame in a desert.

[SPEAKER_00]: For real, he was public enemy number one, and he was trying to duck the Pope.

[SPEAKER_00]: And he ducked the Pope for 40 years until God set a bush on fire in the middle of the desert that did not burn up.

[SPEAKER_00]: He saw the bush burning curious as to why it wasn't consumed and then heard a voice speak.

[SPEAKER_00]: as he drew near to the bush that voice from the bus told him take the sendals off your feet because the place where you stand is holy ground.

[SPEAKER_00]: The heat on his feet reminded him of what we need to purge us to make us holy before we can walk in the way of God.

[SPEAKER_00]: That voice tells him, go back to Egypt and liberate.

[SPEAKER_00]: My people.

[SPEAKER_00]: He spends the next 40 years liberating God's people and roaming with them in the desert.

[SPEAKER_00]: And he captures that in a song and then he blesses all the tribes in chapter 33 and 34.

[SPEAKER_00]: He dies to end due to rotomy and Joshua opens with his eulogy.

[SPEAKER_00]: God freaches Moses' eulogy.

[SPEAKER_00]: Moses, my servant, is dead, period.

[SPEAKER_00]: The greatest eulogy ever preached by the greatest preacher who ever preached to eulogy.

[SPEAKER_00]: Could you imagine God preaching your funeral?

[SPEAKER_00]: When God preaching your funeral, he didn't even gotta say much, because what he said has more weight than what we can hold.

[SPEAKER_00]: Moses, my servant is dead, eulogy over.

[SPEAKER_00]: Turns to Joshua, you now the leader.

[SPEAKER_00]: Be courageous, be strong,

[SPEAKER_00]: Meditate on my word and obey it.

[SPEAKER_00]: If you are courageous and strong and meditate on my word and obey it, I guarantee you success.

[SPEAKER_00]: The Reverend Dr. Robert Smith, Jr. whom I affectionately call a pop of Smith, says after the transference of leadership, Joshua must take the reins handed to and craft it for him by the God of all creation.

[SPEAKER_00]: And he must confidently lead the Israelites into the promised land.

[SPEAKER_00]: as they go into the promised land, our text tells us they must take possession of it.

[SPEAKER_00]: So here's how big I did for today.

[SPEAKER_00]: We cannot take possession until we make ready.

[SPEAKER_00]: What do you know is right within your fingertips?

[SPEAKER_00]: What do you know is imminent in your life?

[SPEAKER_00]: What good thing has the Lord promised you?

[SPEAKER_00]: What blessing have you asked of God that you sense?

[SPEAKER_00]: You might be closer to that error.

[SPEAKER_00]: I want you to hear me before you can take possession of what is divinely yours.

[SPEAKER_00]: You got to make ready where you are.

[SPEAKER_00]: Because if you take possession, but you don't make ready, you won't be a good steward of a what you take.

[SPEAKER_00]: So you gotta make ready in this, in between, or this mean time season, as you prepare for what God has prepared for you.

[SPEAKER_00]: So here's the big question, and I want to say this together on the count of three, one, two, three.

[SPEAKER_00]: Are you ready for God's, we can shout about it, we can sing about it, we can journal about it, we can fast for it,

[SPEAKER_00]: We can preach it up, we can believe it, but do we get ready for it?

[SPEAKER_00]: If the Lord did for you right now, that main thing you either been hoping for, ask before he told you he was gonna do the gene asking to do, could you store it in, well, these are the days of preparation.

[SPEAKER_00]: Dr. Robert Smith, Jr. continues by saying, God allocated three days for their preparation.

[SPEAKER_00]: The period of three days is significant throughout Scripture.

[SPEAKER_00]: In Genesis 22 it takes Abraham, Isaac, and the servants, three days to reach Mount Mariah.

[SPEAKER_00]: Jonah was in the belly of the fish for three days and three nights.

[SPEAKER_00]: However, the most important three-day period is the son of Jonah, the three days between the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus.

[SPEAKER_00]: These three days in verse 11 are a period of preparation, what I call readiness.

[SPEAKER_00]: You know what I want more for you than for you to become and get all that God wants you to be in half.

[SPEAKER_00]: I want you to be ready for it.

[SPEAKER_00]: So you're not embarrassed when it comes.

[SPEAKER_00]: I want you to be embarrassed when God blesses you, that you didn't take serious, the grace that he gave you when he gave you time to get ready for it.

[SPEAKER_00]: I don't want you to be ashamed that you wasted your time throwing a tantrum, and when he brought it to pass, you realized what you was mad about you should have been mad about, which was enough time between revelation and manifestation to be ready for it without being ashamed.

[SPEAKER_00]: Readiness is a result of our understanding what God is about to do his next move.

[SPEAKER_00]: Here's the first thing number one, I anticipate God's next move when I understand that number one, Readiness is covenantal.

[SPEAKER_00]: Being ready is a part of being in a covenant.

[SPEAKER_00]: Keep in yourself, Readiness is a part of being in a covenant.

[SPEAKER_00]: Keep in yourself, Readiness is a part of being in a covenant.

[SPEAKER_00]: is a part of the unique relational dynamic between you and God.

[SPEAKER_00]: I told you, it's hard to really appreciate Joshua Warren without understanding Deuteronomy 31 through 34.

[SPEAKER_00]: And one chapter ago in Deuteronomy 34, a personal before says, then the lower set to him, that is to Moses, this is the land.

[SPEAKER_00]: What church I promised, there it is.

[SPEAKER_00]: This is when I watch all promise or in way, oath to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, when I see it.

[SPEAKER_00]: Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, then Jacob's sons, the 12 tribes, and now their grandchildren, are about to enter the land.

[SPEAKER_00]: So five generations ago, God made a covenant.

[SPEAKER_00]: What we know about God is this, God is a covenant maker and keeper.

[SPEAKER_00]: If it, let me run that back.

[SPEAKER_00]: God is a covenant maker and keeper.

[SPEAKER_00]: So as you read, God's word is important to understand where what you're reading falls in the most recent covenant.

[SPEAKER_00]: Now, I'm gonna nerd out for like three minutes.

[SPEAKER_00]: Don't go to sleep.

[SPEAKER_00]: And then I'm gonna come back.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'm gonna nerd out real quick.

[SPEAKER_00]: Whenever you read in God's Word, you gotta be careful to just pull a verse out and say, oh, this is a plod of my life.

[SPEAKER_00]: It'll help you if you understand the most recent covenant between God and man before the passage that you read.

[SPEAKER_00]: Right?

[SPEAKER_00]: There are six covenants in the Bible.

[SPEAKER_00]: The first is the covenant with Adam.

[SPEAKER_00]: then you have to covenant with Noah, then there's a covenant with Abraham, then there's a covenant with Moses, then there's a covenant with David, then there is the new covenant.

[SPEAKER_00]: Again, there are six covenants in the Bible, and you'll see them here on the screen in a quick second.

[SPEAKER_00]: These six covenants are the admonic, no way, Abrahamic, Mosiah, Davidic, and Newt.

[SPEAKER_00]: What you're mean, Ralph, and each of these scenarios, God,

[SPEAKER_00]: then with Noah and his family, then with Abraham and Sarah, then with Moses through the law, then with David promising your seed is gonna be on the throne until the end of time.

[SPEAKER_00]: And then the new covenant in Matthew 26 where Jesus at the communion table says, this is my body broken for you, this is my blood shed for the new company.

[SPEAKER_00]: So whatever passage I'm reading, I want to understand what was the last agreement God made with man and how does that agreement set the backdrop for this text?

[SPEAKER_00]: The last agreement made before this text is the Abrahamian.

[SPEAKER_00]: In Genesis 12, God comes to Abraham and says, I know you ain't nobody, but once you get with me, you're going to be somebody.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'm gonna make you a father of many nations.

[SPEAKER_00]: If you can count the sand on the sea shore, you can count your kids.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'm gonna give you so many kids that I'm gonna have to give you another room in a land for your and your kids to be.

[SPEAKER_00]: And that land I'm promising to you now, follow me.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'm gonna show you the way to the land I'm gonna give you.

[SPEAKER_00]: So we come now, the Joshua 1, and God says, in three days.

[SPEAKER_00]: Y'all going in the land, I promised five generations ago.

[SPEAKER_00]: This is why you can't be arrogant when you have success in your life.

[SPEAKER_00]: Because you don't know how the blessings you got in your life are tied to promises God made five generations ago to folk in your lineage who was more faithful to God than you ever could imagine.

[SPEAKER_00]: Is there anybody who can testify yet?

[SPEAKER_00]: Reverend, I love the Lord.

[SPEAKER_00]: I do hard work, I went to school, but I understand all these blessings ain't mine alone.

[SPEAKER_00]: Thank you, God, for keeping your promise to the people who came

[SPEAKER_00]: even though you made the promise happen in my life.

[SPEAKER_00]: Right in this is coming in, so y'all looking me like real.

[SPEAKER_00]: What's the covenant?

[SPEAKER_00]: I've explained it before let me re-explain it now.

[SPEAKER_00]: A covenant is a sacred agreement between two parties that exceeds the fine print in a contract.

[SPEAKER_00]: Because it's based on the spirit of unconditional love.

[SPEAKER_00]: with conditional actions, eternal commitment for mutual benefit from satigin.

[SPEAKER_00]: A covenant is a sacred agreement between two parties and is more than a contract.

[SPEAKER_00]: A covenant may involve a contract, but the spirit of the covenant is more than you could put on paper.

[SPEAKER_00]: Their eternal implications is based on unconditional love, but there are conditions and commitments of both parties, and it is mutually beneficial.

[SPEAKER_00]: A covenant is a promise, something deeper than you can judge, make each other do because you sign a dotted line.

[SPEAKER_00]: A covenant is something you commit to do, and when you're in covenant, it's your job to do your part.

[SPEAKER_00]: So when I say readiness is covenantal, what our means is, once you come into relationship with God, what you tell God is God, I can't make it happen for me, but I promise you I'm gonna be ready when you make it happen.

[SPEAKER_00]: Because that's my part of the covenant.

[SPEAKER_00]: Now, God is the covenant making God and the covenant keeping God, understanding that he enters covenant with human beings.

[SPEAKER_00]: Human beings who are deeply flawed.

[SPEAKER_00]: So God is going to do most of it, but because we're free, we're agents, God not going to do all of it.

[SPEAKER_00]: He's going to do most of it.

[SPEAKER_00]: He's going to do all the heavy lifting.

[SPEAKER_00]: I promise you that.

[SPEAKER_00]: But there are some parts of small obedience that is our responsibility, that are ready in this is a part of the small obedience that says I'm going to keep my side of the cup.

[SPEAKER_00]: Let me give you an example of some covenants and how is your responsibility to do your part.

[SPEAKER_00]: For example, if you marry,

[SPEAKER_00]: marriage is a covenant here's what that means your spouse has a part and you have a part here's where you mess up you mess up when you focus more on your spouse's part then you do your part that's when you mess up here's when you stay ready in the covenant

[SPEAKER_00]: You stay ready in the covenant by bringing an adult to the table whenever it's time to have a conversation.

[SPEAKER_00]: I want you to hear me, it is your job to keep up your sign of the covenant.

[SPEAKER_00]: Not your job to critique your spouse over the night, they kept up their sign of the covenant.

[SPEAKER_00]: Now, I don't know what you all do, the marriage bed is on the file.

[SPEAKER_00]: BoWives, your husband ain't your daddy.

[SPEAKER_00]: Husbands, your wife is not your mama.

[SPEAKER_00]: What does that mean?

[SPEAKER_00]: It is not my spouse's job to raise me.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's my job to come fully mature.

[SPEAKER_00]: In to any moment, I'm gonna bring a grown-up to the table.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'm ready because that's my part of the covenant.

[SPEAKER_00]: All right, let's say you're a friend.

[SPEAKER_00]: If you got a real friend, that's a covenant.

[SPEAKER_00]: You don't sign no dotted line, we gonna be friends.

[SPEAKER_00]: But no, if you enter an agreement that we gonna be friends, covenant sisters, covenant brothers, you know what your part of the covenant is to zip your little.

[SPEAKER_00]: You cannot be a good friend and a leaky vessel at the same time.

[SPEAKER_00]: A part of the covenant is, keep confidence with whatever I'll share with you in private and help me look good in public.

[SPEAKER_00]: That's your part of your agreement, right?

[SPEAKER_00]: You also inculminate with yourself.

[SPEAKER_00]: Job said, I have made a covenant with my eyes, not to look lustfully at a young woman.

[SPEAKER_00]: How many times have you hurt yourself?

[SPEAKER_00]: And then told yourself, this my last time hurt myself, like, this is my last time doing this to me.

[SPEAKER_00]: This is my last time putting myself in this scenario.

[SPEAKER_00]: God darned God, me out too many times for me to keep running back.

[SPEAKER_00]: I make a promise to myself.

[SPEAKER_00]: Self-wing on duty is normal.

[SPEAKER_00]: You keep covering it to yourself when you set your life up for success, not for failure.

[SPEAKER_00]: Don't drive past what you know the weed man lives.

[SPEAKER_00]: and where you used to stop and to get some joyjews.

[SPEAKER_00]: Self, this is our last time, getting high.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'm gonna blaze up this last one.

[SPEAKER_00]: I don't wanna drink it, but I already bought it.

[SPEAKER_00]: Next Friday, when you stressed out, don't draw the way you used to draw to do the things you used to do.

[SPEAKER_00]: Readiness is covenantal.

[SPEAKER_00]: And that's the part I played to keep up my promise

[SPEAKER_00]: Number two, not only is reading this covenant, but number two, reading this is faithful.

[SPEAKER_00]: Reading this is faithful.

[SPEAKER_00]: You really improve if you trust God by how ready you are before God moves.

[SPEAKER_00]: Again, in verse number two, it says, now then you and all these people get ready to cross the Jordan into the land.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'm about to get them.

[SPEAKER_00]: In other words, God is telling Joshua, tell the people, I'm about the bus, I'm moved.

[SPEAKER_00]: This is not my only move, it's my next move.

[SPEAKER_00]: I moved before in ways that you're on probably forgot.

[SPEAKER_00]: I moved before in ways, I'm gonna remind you of, but my next move is coming soon.

[SPEAKER_00]: Get ready.

[SPEAKER_00]: I think sometimes we get in the stuck place and we saw Matt that God hasn't moved in the way.

[SPEAKER_00]: We hope he will move next and we forget.

[SPEAKER_00]: He already been moving in ways we forgot.

[SPEAKER_00]: If the Lord really wanted to read me my rights and run down the list of ways he's moved for me, there are plenty of times I didn't even recognize the dangers that was unseen around me.

[SPEAKER_00]: Not knowing it was his hands that kept danger out of my life and kept my eyes from seeing the danger around me.

[SPEAKER_00]: Is there anybody who can testify God ever in breath?

[SPEAKER_00]: I take ever remove, I make his a result of your goodness to me.

[SPEAKER_00]: So forgive me for being mad, the train move, how I want you to move, and I'm blind to the fact that you've been moving.

[SPEAKER_00]: The issue is not, if you've been moving, the issue is not, if you go and move, the question is, for that next move, the pivot of one, am I ready before you do it?

[SPEAKER_00]: The faithful begin to prepare for a move of God, and soon as they become aware that God is planning to move.

[SPEAKER_00]: Sometimes we get mad at God when we should get glad at God.

[SPEAKER_00]: Has the Lord ever showed you something that was so awesome, it made you mad?

[SPEAKER_00]: You ain't God.

[SPEAKER_00]: If you love me, why would you show me this?

[SPEAKER_00]: I'm stressed out.

[SPEAKER_00]: How can I handle what you just showed me?

[SPEAKER_00]: I ask you to give me that revelation.

[SPEAKER_00]: I just want to look devotion time with you.

[SPEAKER_00]: And here you are, tell my daughters wonderful stuff you're gonna do in my future that I ain't even ask you for and now I'm stressed out trying to figure out what to do in my hands until you do it.

[SPEAKER_00]: But then, you think you get real deep me, you're like, hello, I trust you, I believe you're gonna do it, you're gonna do it, and he'll do it, yeah, and then you start getting mad.

[SPEAKER_00]: Like, then you hit me, say you're gonna do it.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, yeah.

[SPEAKER_00]: Why you ain't did it?

[SPEAKER_00]: Not knowing that you mad when you should be glad.

[SPEAKER_00]: Why should I be glad?

[SPEAKER_00]: Because it's not that the Lord don't love me that he showed me something that was too big for me.

[SPEAKER_00]: Is that the Lord does love me?

[SPEAKER_00]: Because he showed me here's what I'm about to do.

[SPEAKER_00]: Now I'm giving you time from where you are to where I'm taking you.

[SPEAKER_00]: to get yourself ready, because I don't want you to be overwhelmed and stressed out when it's glory, fall on your life.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's not anybody anticipating a blessing from God who can testify, Lord, thank you for giving me time to get ready, so that when you do it, I can handle it.

[SPEAKER_00]: I can handle it, because it's one thing to obtain, it's another thing to maintain.

[SPEAKER_00]: I can handle it, I can get it with my gift, but I keep it with my character, can I handle it!

[SPEAKER_00]: So being ready forces me to have to grow up, the part of being a Christian we don't like, to go from immature to mature.

[SPEAKER_00]: what we at the way Define is, a spiritual child, and a spiritual adult.

[SPEAKER_00]: A spiritual child is someone who spiritually immature, who throws attention to child omniply a legot, a spiritual adult is somebody who's mature and who lings into what hurts knowing that it hurts so good.

[SPEAKER_00]: A spiritual child says, Lord, I'm not going to do what you want me to do until you do what you said you was going to do.

[SPEAKER_00]: And if you had a black mama, black auntie, black granddaddy, you already know.

[SPEAKER_00]: If you throw a fit in the stove, they're going to let you throw that fit.

[SPEAKER_00]: They're going to wait till that fit is done.

[SPEAKER_00]: And then they're not going to raise their voice.

[SPEAKER_00]: They're going to lower their voice and talk to you and learn to do your teeth.

[SPEAKER_00]: And tell you, you better get your put up off that flowing bearers and me and this.

[SPEAKER_00]: You can be in mature, you can throw a fit.

[SPEAKER_00]: You can tell God what you ain't gonna do till God does, what you ask God to do.

[SPEAKER_00]: But I tell you, that's not gonna move the hand of God.

[SPEAKER_00]: All that's gonna do is put you in remedial courses.

[SPEAKER_00]: You all the mature and grow up.

[SPEAKER_00]: So you can say, Father, you do it when you wanna do it.

[SPEAKER_00]: How you wanna do it, if you wanna do it, but in the meantime, I'm a lean into what I don't like.

[SPEAKER_00]: Cause I know even though I don't like this, you still love me.

[SPEAKER_00]: Is there anybody convinced by the love of God that you can survive, what's hard?

[SPEAKER_00]: So as necessary to be ready before God moves, while reverend to prove your faith in God before it happens, to keep your side of the covenant with God, to display humility that I'm not taking anything for granted, and because you won't have time to get ready after God's thoughts moving.

[SPEAKER_00]: This must be an easy sermon to preach.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's easy to preach, and it was to live.

[SPEAKER_00]: This is my life three years ago.

[SPEAKER_00]: Doing the pandemic, the Lord had me in a wilderness.

[SPEAKER_00]: I was gonna go get a job.

[SPEAKER_00]: Some wheels doing so.

[SPEAKER_00]: And they're like, man, you sound like a preacher.

[SPEAKER_00]: No, I don't time.

[SPEAKER_00]: And insurance agent.

[SPEAKER_00]: Man, bro, you look like a preacher.

[SPEAKER_00]: No, I'm not of a manager.

[SPEAKER_00]: Out of place trying to fit in where I know I want call to be.

[SPEAKER_00]: So throwing all that time, the Lord had me just spending time with the Lord.

[SPEAKER_00]: I didn't know that three years from then, I'll be celebrating the anniversary of a church I planted because I never wanted the planet church to begin with.

[SPEAKER_00]: But here we are, and when God started moving, I ran out of time to get ready.

[SPEAKER_00]: I just had to be ready.

[SPEAKER_00]: He said, anybody who can look back on the season, you didn't like and say, Lord, my bad.

[SPEAKER_00]: I missed it.

[SPEAKER_00]: She was getting me ready because when you start moving, I got to be there.

[SPEAKER_00]: I can't be on my way there.

[SPEAKER_00]: Ready, Mrs.

[SPEAKER_00]: Faithful, ready, Mrs. Covenantal, I'm done.

[SPEAKER_00]: Number three, readiness is practical.

[SPEAKER_00]: Sometimes we can be so spiritual, we forget that the practical is spiritual too.

[SPEAKER_00]: I don't want you to walk out of here, be a mystical.

[SPEAKER_00]: I got to get ready and you go home and light every candle in your house.

[SPEAKER_00]: And light all the incense.

[SPEAKER_00]: And you put on a garment of prayer.

[SPEAKER_00]: You walk around like this and you lay prostrate before the Lord and you close your arms and put your phone on silent.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'm getting ready.

[SPEAKER_00]: That could be one way to get ready.

[SPEAKER_00]: read a book, budget show money, go through your house, get all your junk, put it all in a big trash bag, call somebody with a big truck to come to your house and get your junk out of your house.

[SPEAKER_00]: If you believe God, I'm going to give you a new house.

[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, y'all looking me like a rare.

[SPEAKER_00]: How you get so practical.

[SPEAKER_00]: Look at Joshua chapter one, verse number 11.

[SPEAKER_00]: Is four words, get your provisions, watch arch.

[SPEAKER_00]: What is provisions?

[SPEAKER_00]: Stuff.

[SPEAKER_00]: Got to say, get your stuff ready.

[SPEAKER_00]: You got three days.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'm a move in three days.

[SPEAKER_00]: In three days, I'm gonna give you a sequel to that water miracle that your grandparents saw.

[SPEAKER_00]: I brought them through the rest, see now I'm about to bring you through the Jordan River.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's practical, and we'll let something practical linger in this obedience, not knowing it's the small disobedience that's keeping us from the big breakthrough.

[SPEAKER_00]: Not knowing how you do one thing, that's how you do everything.

[SPEAKER_00]: You ask the Lord to give you land, flowing, milking honey, and you only keep the grass cut on your third acre lot.

[SPEAKER_00]: You can't even keep a little third quarter lock in a subdivision, trimmed up in what area life are you disorganized, in what area of your life are you disobedient?

[SPEAKER_00]: I'm gonna tell you, the lonely you wait on God, the easier it is to let a little disobedient screen print, partly because you'd be mad at God.

[SPEAKER_00]: And you start to think you're my holy and God is.

[SPEAKER_00]: My God, I did all this and you can still do nothing.

[SPEAKER_00]: So I tell you what,

[SPEAKER_00]: So, I did all this to be faithful to you and you, indeed, what you said you're gonna do, I'm gonna be a little less unfaithful to you doing.

[SPEAKER_00]: Now, knowing that smidget of disobedience will create a chink in your character that may not hurt you in the wilderness, but soon as you step in the Promised Land will be the access point that enemy has to bring you down.

[SPEAKER_00]: So, instead of being mad, that God ain't done it yet, be glad he ain't done it yet.

[SPEAKER_00]: Because he said, you still need time to get organized and be obedient because I'm omnipotent.

[SPEAKER_00]: If you get organized and you'll be obedient, you will see my omnipotence.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'm gonna do for you what you can't do for you, but after I do it, I don't want you to do yourself in.

[SPEAKER_00]: So get organized.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's just our being obedient.

[SPEAKER_00]: When you talk about the big stuff, like, that'll show not kill.

[SPEAKER_00]: Now you got to get ready too because what you're going into is a fight like you have never seen come in all I come to tell you and stop being so conditioned to needing to be brought out Stop being so willing to have in the go through that you don't have the expectation in your heart There when he's all days the Lord is gonna take me in is there anybody grateful for the fact that God has Our promise land for you too.

[SPEAKER_00]: Because you're going to try to take that trip two years from now, and don't nobody want to babysit your kids, what?
