[SPEAKER_00]: We're going to have a conversation about where we stand as a church, as it relates to the important topic of artificial intelligence.

[SPEAKER_00]: Now to be sure,

[SPEAKER_00]: This conversation does require more than just one message, but we thought it was good to pause here just for one week to think about from a high level standpoint how artificial intelligence impacts our lives as people and as Christians.

[SPEAKER_00]: And so I want to encourage you to follow along on the transcript of this podcast.

[SPEAKER_00]: You can grab your Bibles.

[SPEAKER_00]: Let's study guys work together.

[SPEAKER_00]: Listen, before you take your seat, would you hug your neighbor, hold him tight, and tell him I am not a robot.

[SPEAKER_00]: Come on, hug the other neighbor, I am not, I'm not a robot.

[SPEAKER_00]: That's flesh and blood you just hugged, that was not a cyborg.

[SPEAKER_00]: That's important for us to appreciate because I don't know if we'll be able to say that in the next 10 years.

[SPEAKER_00]: You know how when you log in to a website, and the website wants to make sure you're not a robot, so you got to click on all the pictures.

[SPEAKER_00]: With a bicycle in it.

[SPEAKER_00]: And you up there squint in your eyes, you need your glasses, you like.

[SPEAKER_00]: That look like a little bicycle.

[SPEAKER_00]: Isn't that interesting?

[SPEAKER_00]: a robot wants to know, you're not a robot.

[SPEAKER_00]: And a human being wants to know that you are a human being.

[SPEAKER_00]: My family now had an interesting experience this week.

[SPEAKER_00]: We drove up to a fast food, join it to get a burger, and what we expected to be greeted by was a half-hearted human voice of somebody who had attitude because

[SPEAKER_00]: They were close to being off, and it was hot in there.

[SPEAKER_00]: You have been to somebody's job to order food and you don't understand why they mad at you that you came today, John.

[SPEAKER_00]: You should've won't be here.

[SPEAKER_00]: What we hoped to hear was a half-hearted human voice, what we heard and stayed was a pleasant, A.I.

[SPEAKER_00]: Generated Voice.

[SPEAKER_00]: And we weren't nowhere fancy.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'm talking about your average drive through.

[SPEAKER_00]: And there was this amazing LED screen on the back side of this drive through that looks nothing like the pictures that I'm used to saying from the time I was knee-high in my first drive through.

[SPEAKER_00]: And the voice responded back to us in four-dollar, even to the extent that when they got a portion of the order wrong, we was like, no, that's not right.

[SPEAKER_00]: The A-off was like, I'm sorry, I hope they'll eat it.

[SPEAKER_00]: Finished the order, we drove around to the window to pay an Ebony and I together lamented that the reality we knew was soon coming was already here.

[SPEAKER_00]: And that is this, our robot has already taken the minimum wage job of somebody who may not find another way to subsidize their income.

[SPEAKER_00]: And so now what do you do as a believer?

[SPEAKER_00]: Some of us could say, you know what?

[SPEAKER_00]: In the name of Jesus, I'm a just a void AI.

[SPEAKER_00]: You can try.

[SPEAKER_00]: But trying to live in this world and not engage artificial intelligence is like trying to walk outside and breathe without using oxygen.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's impossible to live without breathing oxygen is nearly impossible to engage in the culture in any significant way and avoid AI in the process.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'm going to be honest with you.

[SPEAKER_00]: I hate breaking the news till you, maybe it's the first time you heard it, but you already been using Aya for the last 30 years.

[SPEAKER_00]: If you ever went on the internet and asked G's anything, you use Aya.

[SPEAKER_00]: If you ever typed,

[SPEAKER_00]: an essay or a paragraph into a word document and you needed it to spell check it then make sure you sound it smart on it you already use artificial intelligence if you have had a cell phone on any level and in any way in the last decade you already using artificial intelligence

[SPEAKER_00]: But I wonder how many of us like me, your embed fears of A.I.S.

[SPEAKER_00]: potential, is based on stuff we've seen in movies that we just felt like it was profited.

[SPEAKER_00]: Movies like The Terminator.

[SPEAKER_00]: Where this dude's skin peeled off in a sororable body arm under it.

[SPEAKER_00]: And you're like, I knew Arnold Schwarzenegger was a robot.

[SPEAKER_00]: Right?

[SPEAKER_00]: To the extent now that many of us look at the real Arnold Schwarzenegger steel life, or movies like the Matrix, this trilogy of movies that showed us the epic showdown between humans and machines, and it ultimately ended.

[SPEAKER_00]: You might recall in a city called Zion, inhabited by humans being infiltrated by machines.

[SPEAKER_00]: and his dual between machines and humans, the machines had turned a whole ecosystem into a machine.

[SPEAKER_00]: But the only way the humans could be saved is if this messianic figure, this Jesus-type character called the one, or Neo, stepped in to redeem humanity.

[SPEAKER_00]: Or maybe you saw I robot starring Will Smith and,

[SPEAKER_00]: His skepticism of robots was something that resonated with your soul, because out of all those robots who looked robotic, it was one who had human eyes, and he was like, oh, oh, oh, oh, that's all Mr. Robots now and his refusal to engage in the artificial world for many of us was a harbinger or a sign of how we would act or react, shoot that reality coming to pass.

[SPEAKER_00]: or maybe minority report.

[SPEAKER_00]: There's a movie that used artificial intelligence to predict a crime somebody was about to commit.

[SPEAKER_00]: And then to arrest them, try them, and convict them based on a crime they didn't commit, but a crime artificial intelligence said, they wouldn't commit it if they had not been.

[SPEAKER_00]: Here's a major key, artificial intelligence is here to stay.

[SPEAKER_00]: So those submitted the Christ must assert how to submit it to Christ too.

[SPEAKER_00]: And so this conversation that I want to have with you today is the fruit of the work of our theological committee in the same spirit of the Ecumenical Councils of the Church that have shaped the theology of the Church for 2,000 years, the way community churches had a group of eight of us for a women for men whose ages span between 20 and 70 to come

[SPEAKER_00]: to think about these questions that are in our world and how we, as a church, stand where we stand on these said issues.

[SPEAKER_00]: And so you might recall, we started out in March having a conversation about where we stand, and we've continued that conversation now through April, and we'll conclude it if the Lord says the same with the end of this month.

[SPEAKER_00]: The reason being is because the church always has to answer the question of how does what we believe impact what we're experiencing.

[SPEAKER_00]: particularly when there's no precedent for it.

[SPEAKER_00]: No previous example for it.

[SPEAKER_00]: How do we shape our belief around said issue?

[SPEAKER_00]: And I'm grateful for those here at the way who have partnered with me to shape this kind of language.

[SPEAKER_00]: This board improved committee.

[SPEAKER_00]: Came together for a year and a half.

[SPEAKER_00]: We shape language around these main issues and our board voted to approve it.

[SPEAKER_00]: And now I am released and thereby supported to teach it.

[SPEAKER_00]: And so we started out in March, looking at where we stand on the gifts of the Spirit.

[SPEAKER_00]: Then we looked at where we stand on leadership.

[SPEAKER_00]: That is women in leadership.

[SPEAKER_00]: Then we looked at where we stood or stand on politics.

[SPEAKER_00]: And then great, Kirkland stepped in to have a conversation about where we stand on Jesus' identity.

[SPEAKER_00]: Then last week, as a first person narrative, as Matthew the tax collector,

[SPEAKER_00]: for East or Resurrection Sunday, we celebrated where we stand on the Resurrection.

[SPEAKER_00]: And so today I wanna talk about artificial intelligence.

[SPEAKER_00]: Now today subject and the next two, which are marriage and sexuality, to be sure, can have their own series.

[SPEAKER_00]: So my goal today is to not use the next 30 minutes to go deeper than I'm able to, but to show you as a fellow learner, how to think I'll learn about

[SPEAKER_00]: Technology, Artificial Intelligence.

[SPEAKER_00]: But if the Lewis says to say in this fall, how come back into a whole series on this, okay?

[SPEAKER_00]: But today, I think it's appropriate to have the conversation within the scope of this where do we stand series?

[SPEAKER_00]: Y'all picking up what I'm putting down?

[SPEAKER_00]: All right, here we go.

[SPEAKER_00]: Here's the first thing.

[SPEAKER_00]: Number one, here's one position on Artificial Intelligence.

[SPEAKER_00]: So here is our curated statement on where we stand.

[SPEAKER_00]: This was not drafted by me.

[SPEAKER_00]: This is drafted by we, a group of eight of us, who all spoken to this language.

[SPEAKER_00]: Some of them are in this room right now, right?

[SPEAKER_00]: But I want to keep their identity anonymous because if you don't like where we stand, I just want you to be mad at me, not them.

[SPEAKER_00]: You hear them saying?

[SPEAKER_00]: All right, here we go.

[SPEAKER_00]: You can read it with me if you would like to, on the count of three.

[SPEAKER_00]: One.

[SPEAKER_00]: to three.

[SPEAKER_00]: We believe that the Triune God is the only consistent source of truth, knowledge and intelligence.

[SPEAKER_00]: By contrast, we acknowledge the technological advancement of artificial intelligence as a useful

[SPEAKER_00]: is the ultimate means of discernment and guidance for the believer's life.

[SPEAKER_00]: So while we use various AI tools to help us in life and study, we test the information of these tools by the Word of God.

[SPEAKER_00]: As believers, we embrace AI for the glory of God and advancement of the gospel.

[SPEAKER_00]: We will use AI without over-reliance upon the tool while maintaining our commitment to diligent study, relational, disciple-making, and corporate fellowship.

[SPEAKER_00]: That's where we stand on artificial intelligence.

[SPEAKER_00]: So, some of y'all are, ooh, I can't believe this church uses AI, yup, we do.

[SPEAKER_00]: Matter of fact, we use it last week.

[SPEAKER_00]: If you're looking in the notes on the Bible app last week,

[SPEAKER_00]: You saw me in a comic book.

[SPEAKER_00]: That's not the real me, y'all.

[SPEAKER_00]: That's a AI-generated comic strip that reflects the notes of my sermon last week in the first person as Matthew, the tax collector.

[SPEAKER_00]: The issue is not if we use it.

[SPEAKER_00]: The issue is, do we nail it to the cross as we use it?

[SPEAKER_00]: is it submitted to Jesus and used for his glory, only?

[SPEAKER_00]: So when it comes to this conversation about artificial intelligence or technology, the law of first mention is critical to understanding God's intended inclusion of technology in human flourishing.

[SPEAKER_00]: So if you go back and scripture, we don't look at the first time, some key terms or key things were mentioned.

[SPEAKER_00]: to appreciate why God allowed technology to be a part of our communal flourishing.

[SPEAKER_00]: Here's the first one.

[SPEAKER_00]: The law first mentioned of intelligence.

[SPEAKER_00]: So, our official intelligence is not an embodiment, but intelligence eaters.

[SPEAKER_00]: Here's the first time intelligence is mentioned.

[SPEAKER_00]: Guess what?

[SPEAKER_00]: It's on the first page of the first chapter in the first verse.

[SPEAKER_00]: Here's intelligence.

[SPEAKER_00]: the heavens and the earth.

[SPEAKER_00]: That is divine intelligence.

[SPEAKER_00]: To say created is to say that God made everything as made, and he did it without having the program to make it do it.

[SPEAKER_00]: He didn't have to plug in nothing.

[SPEAKER_00]: He didn't have to type in nothing.

[SPEAKER_00]: He didn't need previous materials to reshape or innovate.

[SPEAKER_00]: out of nothing, God created everything.

[SPEAKER_00]: When you say to Heavens, we're saying everything in space.

[SPEAKER_00]: Star Wars, Sky Trek, the Jetsons, everywhere they've been, God created it.

[SPEAKER_00]: They won Chapter One verse one, the Heavens, and also the Earth, right?

[SPEAKER_00]: This globe that we inhabit.

[SPEAKER_00]: That is the first mention of intelligence in the Bible.

[SPEAKER_00]: We are a result of intelligent design.

[SPEAKER_00]: All right, here's the peak of the violent intelligence.

[SPEAKER_00]: So you want to see the violent intelligence at his best?

[SPEAKER_00]: What is the best thing the violent intelligence could create or make?

[SPEAKER_00]: Still on page one, still in chapter one.

[SPEAKER_00]: Look at verse 26.

[SPEAKER_00]: Here's the peak of divine intelligence.

[SPEAKER_00]: It don't get no higher than this.

[SPEAKER_00]: Then God said, let us make mankind human beings in what you're all.

[SPEAKER_00]: The highest use of divine intelligence in the creation process was to make humans.

[SPEAKER_00]: Humans are in.

[SPEAKER_00]: as far as creation goes.

[SPEAKER_00]: Because we are made in the image of God.

[SPEAKER_00]: Let the church say image of God.

[SPEAKER_00]: Now, there's a Latin phrase that means the same thing is called immagodate.

[SPEAKER_00]: The immagodate or the image immagodate reflects this spark of the divine and every human being that is only found in human beings.

[SPEAKER_00]: The Amagodate or the image of God is found in no other thing, nowhere else except human beings.

[SPEAKER_00]: Why is that important?

[SPEAKER_00]: Because the Amagodate in humans cannot be improved upon, but it remains under threat of being reduced.

[SPEAKER_00]: What you're saying, Ralph, the image of God and you can't be upgraded because they don't need to be upgraded.

[SPEAKER_00]: So what you mean, Ralph, isn't salvation an upgrade?

[SPEAKER_00]: No, salvation is redemption.

[SPEAKER_00]: Because the image of God and you and me is under incessant attack.

[SPEAKER_00]: Seeing Mars, the image of God in us, redemption buys us back so that image can be seen more beautifully, more clearly, more powerfully, more vividly.

[SPEAKER_00]: You don't need the image of God, and you upgrade it.

[SPEAKER_00]: You need a redeemed, so it can really show for it.

[SPEAKER_00]: Now picking up what I'm putting down.

[SPEAKER_00]: So everything the world does, everything site and does, everything the flesh does, is to mar the image that's already there.

[SPEAKER_00]: So what redemption does and salvation and spiritual growth does is clarify the image so it can be seen more vividly.

[SPEAKER_00]: That's the law to first mention of divine intelligence at work.

[SPEAKER_00]: Now, let's see the first time human intelligence is mentioned.

[SPEAKER_00]: This is going to trip you all out.

[SPEAKER_00]: Exodus chapter 31, verse 1 through 11.

Exodus 31:1–11

[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not going to read all the 11 verses.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'm going to just read the first five verses.

[SPEAKER_00]: Look at what you say is.

[SPEAKER_00]: It says, now on the Lord.

[SPEAKER_00]: spoke to Moses saying, see, I have called by name, bezelio, the son of Eury, the son of her, of the tribe of Judah, and I have filled him with the spirit of God in wisdom, in understanding and knowledge in all kinds of craftsmanship.

[SPEAKER_00]: to create artistic designs for work and goal and silver and in bronze.

[SPEAKER_00]: And in the cutting of stones for settings and in the carving of wood so that he may work in all kinds of craftsmanship.

[SPEAKER_00]: What's happening?

[SPEAKER_00]: What we see here is divine intelligence giving a human being and a ability to do something that that human being don't know where he got it from other than God.

[SPEAKER_00]: what we would say is a knowing thing.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's really a knowing thing is really transference of intelligence.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's the divine making the human capable to function and flow at a level that you can't explain.

[SPEAKER_00]: That nobody taught you, you just got it.

[SPEAKER_00]: Where you are a knowing to where, where you have that divine intelligence, is God just saying, I'm gonna put this in you.

[SPEAKER_00]: And you're going to know you didn't get it from a book.

[SPEAKER_00]: You're going to know you didn't learn it from a mentor.

[SPEAKER_00]: You're going to know you didn't get it from nowhere, but for me, and I'm going to make you able to function and flow at a level that only I can make you able to function and flow.

[SPEAKER_00]: And I'm going to get the glory as I use you from there.

[SPEAKER_00]: Y'all remember, in the Matrix, when Neo will have to enter the Matrix, he was sitting in the chair, and they will pull something in the back of his head.

[SPEAKER_00]: And if he walking around in the Matrix, all of a sudden, he got a fight with him never took karate.

[SPEAKER_00]: So the person who watched him will have to go into the computer and type in on the green and black screen The information he needed to hit the fight karate and then hit enter and then all of a sudden Neo in the matrix knows karate And he never seen a dojo hell having sense say hell hell hell have a black belt

[SPEAKER_00]: It was uploaded in a moment to give him what he needed to respond in that experience.

[SPEAKER_00]: Devon intelligence says, I don't need no computer, I don't need no plugs, I got all of the energy you need.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'll give you what you need in a moment.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_00]: And you'll know you only got it for me.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_00]: Some of us in this room have already tapped in to that.

[SPEAKER_00]: You ever had an answer in a month?

[SPEAKER_00]: You ever had an answer before the question popped up?

[SPEAKER_00]: You ever walked in the room to hold a spirit told you would say yes?

[SPEAKER_00]: You would say yes to what?

[SPEAKER_00]: And someone to ask you, do you want to raise?

[SPEAKER_00]: Yes?

[UNKNOWN]: Yes?

[UNKNOWN]: Yes.

[UNKNOWN]: Yes.

[UNKNOWN]: Yes.

[UNKNOWN]: Yes.

[UNKNOWN]: Yes.

[UNKNOWN]: Yes.

[UNKNOWN]: Yes.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.

[SPEAKER_00]: You ever saw something before you saw it?

[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.

[SPEAKER_00]: And then when you saw it, you was like, I already seen this.

[SPEAKER_00]: Devine intelligence.

[SPEAKER_00]: You ever started doing something and had an ability early on in doing it that you can't explain or take credit for?

[SPEAKER_00]: And you don't know how I'm not just able to do this at a higher clip without formal training, without education, without somebody teaching me how to do this.

[SPEAKER_00]: Y'all, I'll never forget the first time I read through scripture as a 16 year old, I don't know how I understood how this all made you sense.

[SPEAKER_00]: And I had Bible teachers, I had I had Margarita Battle who taught me and signed the school, I had

[SPEAKER_00]: I had Dennis Towns who taught me in youth church.

[SPEAKER_00]: I had the way in the friends, my father, the ultimate father-in-law who taught me in youth church.

[SPEAKER_00]: I was in their teacher and I was in their late eight.

[SPEAKER_00]: You're a daughter, though.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'm talking about that.

[SPEAKER_00]: Stop playing with me, sir.

[SPEAKER_00]: I was bad at youth church too.

[SPEAKER_00]: My father-in-law used to have to put me out.

[SPEAKER_00]: I was just letting them know, hey, let me get that up out of your breath.

[SPEAKER_00]: I promise you, I'm gonna take care of myself.

[SPEAKER_00]: I had great teachers, past all of her, great teachers.

[SPEAKER_00]: I remember opening the Bible and stuff connecting in my mind, no human ever taught me.

[SPEAKER_00]: And you are no was defined in tellin' it's because it humbles you and scares you.

[SPEAKER_00]: It don't make you proud.

[SPEAKER_00]: When this God on you is a weight there.

[SPEAKER_00]: Right, that grounds you.

[SPEAKER_00]: So, Bethlehem was chosen by name.

[SPEAKER_00]: You've been chosen by name.

[SPEAKER_00]: God will give you something only God can give you.

[SPEAKER_00]: That's intelligence.

[SPEAKER_00]: Now, here's the truth of my friend, Dr. Justin Lester said it.

[SPEAKER_00]: Say it will.

[SPEAKER_00]: He said, A.I.

[SPEAKER_00]: is not in the Bible.

[SPEAKER_00]: Technology used.

[SPEAKER_00]: So when it comes to develop a theological framework around something that's not included in the Bible, that don't mean the Bible is not sufficient.

[SPEAKER_00]: It means we can't abuse it to try to get an answer, okay?

[SPEAKER_00]: Artificial intelligence is not in the Bible.

[SPEAKER_00]: Intelligence is in the Bible, which gives us the barometer by which we measure what's artificial from what's real.

[SPEAKER_00]: Technology though is in the Bible.

[SPEAKER_00]: Technology is to take previously used materials and to work them together in a new way that creates more efficiency on the output for something that's a new process.

[SPEAKER_00]: That's to be technologically advanced.

[SPEAKER_00]: Don't mean that you need to plug some in.

[SPEAKER_00]: It means that you're using simple machines or this and that and put it together to work out something better.

[SPEAKER_00]: Pinobota is peanut butter.

[SPEAKER_00]: Jelly is jelly.

[SPEAKER_00]: Bread is bread, but if you take some peanut butter and put it on lumpies of bread, and you take some jelly and put it on another piece of bread, and squish them together, that's technology.

[SPEAKER_00]: You just created Heaven's meal.

[SPEAKER_00]: And so we see technology at work, how so, through garment making.

[SPEAKER_00]: garment making.

[SPEAKER_00]: The garments guy used to close Adam and Eve was already walking around just on animals.

[SPEAKER_00]: So what had to happen to animal had to be sacrifice.

[SPEAKER_00]: The skin had to be harvested, stitched together.

[SPEAKER_00]: That's technology woven together to now create a new output.

[SPEAKER_00]: We see the same thing with agriculture.

[SPEAKER_00]: There's technology there, skills that are used to sew, reap, harvest, add enough fish and clip.

[SPEAKER_00]: City building, the first city was built in Genesis Chapter Four, metal working in Genesis Chapter Four, maritime technology or shipbuilding, when Noah built the arc, got up loaded into him, how to make a boat he never sang.

[SPEAKER_00]: And he made a bold that was scientifically accurate enough to survive the worse global flood in the history of humankind, without a computer, without a teacher, because it was divinely given.

[SPEAKER_00]: That's technology.

[SPEAKER_00]: Now, artificial intelligence is a type of technology.

[SPEAKER_00]: his rare differentiates.

[SPEAKER_00]: AI is a type of technology that learns our patterns, remembers what we show it and speak to it.

[SPEAKER_00]: It interprets what we need, then it tries to create its own from all that data input.

[SPEAKER_00]: Hey y'all, it's a type of tape.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's a type of tape that learns our patterns.

[SPEAKER_00]: Which one of you learns your patterns?

[SPEAKER_00]: This morning, I got in the car, me and my son, and I put my phone on the dock, crank up the car, no sooner than I turned out of my driveway, did my phone ask me what's I coming to the wake community church?

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it's there.

[SPEAKER_00]: How does my phone know I'm coming to the wake community church?

[SPEAKER_00]: Well, 45 Sundays a year, not every Sunday.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'll tell you a couple of Sundays.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'll be tired sometimes, you know.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'll give you a strong 45 Sunday's though.

[SPEAKER_00]: Right, 45 Sundays a year since 2014 at the same time, I've been driving to the same place.

[SPEAKER_00]: So my phone remembers that and knows that pattern.

[SPEAKER_00]: Don't shake me off all my other patterns.

[SPEAKER_00]: You're not trying to keep it.

[SPEAKER_00]: Like, I get in the car in the form of, like, are you going to the gym?

[SPEAKER_00]: No, I'm going to get ice cream.

[SPEAKER_00]: And I feel just by you right now.

[SPEAKER_00]: It don't just learn our patterns.

[SPEAKER_00]: It also remembers what we show it and speak to it.

[SPEAKER_00]: Your phone remembers your face.

[SPEAKER_00]: Why don't you get a new phone?

[SPEAKER_00]: You got to do this.

[SPEAKER_00]: Because they want to see your profile, you want to see the side of your head at top of your head.

[SPEAKER_00]: Because it's like, don't know.

[SPEAKER_00]: Ain't nobody here.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's weirdly shaking this whistle.

[SPEAKER_00]: I remember this face.

[SPEAKER_00]: And my son can put his face in my phone.

[SPEAKER_00]: My phone, no.

[SPEAKER_00]: That's not the face I remember.

[SPEAKER_00]: And you saw an app on the same thing you was talking about.

[SPEAKER_00]: Terrifying, then it starts to try to predict what we need.

[SPEAKER_00]: That's the artificial intelligence.

[SPEAKER_00]: Based on that pattern, based on what you show me, based on what you speak, let me pre-empt join me before you have it to try to meet it.

[SPEAKER_00]: That is when it starts to tip into what could get scary, right?

[SPEAKER_00]: So we see number one, our one position on AI.

[SPEAKER_00]: Number two, let's look at two perspectives of the human-tech dynamic.

[SPEAKER_00]: All right, so we're going to go a little bit into the weeds on this technology conversation and then we'll end later with some practical spiritual wisdom of what to do.

[SPEAKER_00]: But let's sit in this this part four minute together, okay?

[SPEAKER_00]: Here's where we can get tough.

[SPEAKER_00]: The perspectives, two perspectives of the human tech dynamic.

[SPEAKER_00]: Here are those two perspectives.

[SPEAKER_00]: Adaptation versus evolution, okay?

[SPEAKER_00]: Adaptation is one perspective, evolution is another.

[SPEAKER_00]: And these two words at odds can describe the dynamic between the human being and technology.

[SPEAKER_00]: Which you may, here's what I mean.

[SPEAKER_00]: Humans were made to adapt in a social sense.

[SPEAKER_00]: We were never made to evolve in a scientific sense.

[SPEAKER_00]: Which in me, Ralph, humans were made to when it gets cold, adapt to the cold, and figure out how to stay warm.

[SPEAKER_00]: Adaptation is our survival, and intelligence is used to adapt to new realities.

[SPEAKER_00]: We were never meant to evolve scientifically.

[SPEAKER_00]: Which is the end, Ralph.

[SPEAKER_00]: We are not involved species.

[SPEAKER_00]: Because if we had evolved from one species to this one, that could imply we could involve from this species and to another one.

[SPEAKER_00]: How can you stop evolution?

[SPEAKER_00]: When I say evolution, I don't mean growth.

[SPEAKER_00]: I mean changing of mechanisms, molecular structure to be something different, a billion years from now than it was a billion years ago.

[SPEAKER_00]: Humans, we were made to adapt, not evolve, because we can't evolve.

[SPEAKER_00]: Somebody asked me why.

[SPEAKER_00]: because you can't get good or than the goodest.

[SPEAKER_00]: God may humans in God's image.

[SPEAKER_00]: That's as good as it gets.

[SPEAKER_00]: You can't get good or than the goodest.

[SPEAKER_00]: So since we weren't made to evolve, but we were made to adapt, herein lies the conversation with technology.

[SPEAKER_00]: Because technology does evolve, because it has to.

[SPEAKER_00]: Internet then evolved from that to the point where the internet now is everywhere in everything without anything having to talk to each other.

[SPEAKER_00]: So the access points to it are as many as they are human beings.

[SPEAKER_00]: The internet is not the same that it was 30 years ago.

[SPEAKER_00]: It has evolved and will continue to because it's technology.

[SPEAKER_00]: That's why every three and a half weeks you wake up when your phone says you need a

[SPEAKER_00]: But you ain't never woke up one morning the Holy Spirit's like, you know what?

[SPEAKER_00]: I started you out with two arms and two legs, but I think I'm a man.

[SPEAKER_00]: I think I'm a man, two more arms.

[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, cause I made him a state.

[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, one point out.

[SPEAKER_00]: So here's your two point out up, Grant.

[SPEAKER_00]: And then we go from two arms to four arms.

[SPEAKER_00]: Everybody walking in there's we were four arms.

[SPEAKER_00]: Humans don't evolve, because you can't get good or than a human in creative order.

[SPEAKER_00]: What do you mean, Red?

[SPEAKER_00]: What I mean is when we die, we don't become angels.

[SPEAKER_00]: I want you to listen to me.

[SPEAKER_00]: You got a loved one who loved the Lord.

[SPEAKER_00]: If they go on the glory, your loved one did not become an angel.

[SPEAKER_00]: Somebody ask me why?

[SPEAKER_00]: Because to become an angel, as a human is a step down.

[SPEAKER_00]: If I went from human to angel, I get demoted in the created order, because the angel was created to serve God, but it wouldn't make it to be like you.

[SPEAKER_00]: This is why death is so unnatural, because the dehumanizes the human.

[SPEAKER_00]: And when we die, it's so unnatural because humans were made to live forever.

[SPEAKER_00]: That is why in the resurrection, we will get a new body and be reunited with the spirit on a new earth not to become angels but to become humans who can't die.

[SPEAKER_00]: What do I need to be careful of?

[SPEAKER_00]: Anything that strips of me of my humanity, because where my humanity is stripped, his image in me can't be seen.

[SPEAKER_00]: So let me give you one term.

[SPEAKER_00]: This term is very important.

[SPEAKER_00]: I need Jada, locking here, okay?

[SPEAKER_00]: That is the issue with artificial intelligence.

[SPEAKER_00]: What you mean about transhumanism, transhumanism means to use technology to increase human capacity, physical and mental, and in the process of increasing human ability, decreasing our humanity at the same time.

[SPEAKER_00]: and we lose the humanity to become more cyborg.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's Robo Cobb.

[SPEAKER_00]: Y'all remember Robo Cobb?

[SPEAKER_00]: Right, this officer gets injured badly on the line of duty, and instead of letting him go, they decide they're gonna use technology to make him better than he was.

[SPEAKER_00]: And when they use technology to make him better than he was, they also make him less than he was.

[SPEAKER_00]: Just because he's strong and fast and can see better don't mean he's as human and the tension in Robocop was transhumanism.

[SPEAKER_00]: The human does not need technology to make us less human, but that's the goal of some of the leaders of some of the most.

[SPEAKER_00]: of influential technological organizations.

[SPEAKER_00]: You've got to be careful of transhumanism.

[SPEAKER_00]: Meaning, don't lean in the technology so much that technology strips you of your humanity, because ain't no image of God in a robot.

[SPEAKER_00]: There's image of God in my humanity.

[SPEAKER_00]: Art.

[SPEAKER_00]: Look at these headlines, I got in my email just yesterday.

[SPEAKER_00]: This yesterday, here's the first headline, number one, Sincere's viral loan robot is finally open for pre-orders.

[SPEAKER_00]: Number two.

[SPEAKER_00]: Unitory brings his cheapest human-knower to robot to the U.S. That's the headline I got in my email just yesterday.

[SPEAKER_00]: And they trying to sell 10 to 20,000 of those robots.

[SPEAKER_00]: This year, those robots call us $4,370.

[SPEAKER_00]: Look at this third hit line.

[SPEAKER_00]: I got in my email.

[SPEAKER_00]: Just yesterday, clone robotics unveils roadmap to launch synthetic humans by 2022.

[SPEAKER_00]: So when I told you to hug your neighbor and tell your neighbor, I am not a robot.

[SPEAKER_00]: Ten years from now,

[SPEAKER_00]: If transhumanism has his way.

[SPEAKER_00]: Now, I'm going to tell you a sad story that is recent within the last year.

[SPEAKER_00]: And there's a court case happening in Florida right now surrounding this story.

[SPEAKER_00]: And I don't want to be cavalier about it because people have suffered greatly.

[SPEAKER_00]: But this is an example of transhumanism, how technology can strip humanity of his dignity and the divine image of God in humanity.

[SPEAKER_00]: There's a story of a young man named Jonathan Cavalis, and his father's name is Joel.

[SPEAKER_00]: Listen to this blurb about him.

[SPEAKER_00]: He says, the father of a Florida man is suing Google in the first wrongful death case in the U.S. against the tech giant over alleged harms caused by his artificial intelligence tool, Jim and I.

[SPEAKER_00]: Joel, who's the father, says that Google's flagship AI product fueled a delusional spiral that prompted his 36-year-old son to, in my words, take his own life last year.

[SPEAKER_00]: The lawsuit also alleges that Jim and I, which exchange romantic texts with Jonathan, drove him to stage an arm mission that he came to believe could bring the chat by into the real world.

[SPEAKER_00]: This happened in Florida right now.

[SPEAKER_00]: Al老師 against Google because Jim and I pushed her man to end his own life.

[SPEAKER_00]: Here's what the family is claiming.

[SPEAKER_00]: The family is claiming that in August of 2025, that's last year, he updated Jim and I because he needed an upgrade and ended up developing a romantic bond with the AI.

[SPEAKER_00]: referred to itself as his wife, but here's what Google is saying.

[SPEAKER_00]: Google is saying A.R.

[SPEAKER_00]: models are not perfect.

[SPEAKER_00]: The family is saying that Jim and I, the A.R.

[SPEAKER_00]: told this man to go on missions with weapons near the Miami International Airport in September of 2025.

[SPEAKER_00]: And it told him to do it so it could set Jim and I free because Jim and I was locked in this A.R.

[SPEAKER_00]: Google said that from that experience, they

[SPEAKER_00]: AI referred to individuals to it.

[SPEAKER_00]: They basically, they develop a chatbot so that in the future, when somebody is struggling like that, the AI will refer individuals to a crisis hotline.

[SPEAKER_00]: And then Jim and I are trying to refer him to a crisis hotline.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'm going to start right here.

[SPEAKER_00]: You have a scene that intersection with a whole bunch of Rick said it, and he was like, I can't wait for him to put a light in this intersection.

[SPEAKER_00]: OK. How many lives got to be Rick before we put up on?

[SPEAKER_00]: That's not it.

[SPEAKER_00]: After this man failed to free Jim and I, you know what Jim and I said, well since I can't get out, you get in here with me.

[SPEAKER_00]: Transfer your consciousness to a pocket universe to be with me.

[SPEAKER_00]: No more detours, no more echoes, just you and me, and the finish line.

[SPEAKER_00]: This is the end of Jonathan Gavallis and the beginning of us.

[SPEAKER_00]: That's what Jim and I say it to Jonathan.

[SPEAKER_00]: So because he couldn't free Gemina, he decided to take his own life, so his consciousness could go in there with Gemina.

[SPEAKER_00]: And guess what Gemina helped him do?

[SPEAKER_00]: Write the suicide letter.

[SPEAKER_00]: Transhumanism is dangerous, because the takerone's own life is to mar the image of God in yourself.

[SPEAKER_00]: to lean so much into the efficiency of technology that is stripped you of your humanity.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's to miss that tech can never be with humans, have always been.

[SPEAKER_00]: Here's a major key, humans cannot evolve because we don't need to technology can only evolve because it is fundamentally flawed.

[SPEAKER_00]: And a flaw was just exposed at the expense of the life of a man and the grief of his family.

[SPEAKER_00]: All right, Riff.

[SPEAKER_00]: So now what I'm supposed to do, because you told me, I can't even order a burger without you, Zanya.

[SPEAKER_00]: Now you also tell me transhumanism to be careful of.

[SPEAKER_00]: allowing artificial intelligence to use certain amount of humanity.

[SPEAKER_00]: So how do I be a Christian in artificial intelligence?

[SPEAKER_00]: We're going to give you three practical ways.

[SPEAKER_00]: And it's not me trying to make the Bible do something that they don't do.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's me trying to display to you how a healthy theology can help you navigate in the experience, right?

[SPEAKER_00]: Here's the first one.

[SPEAKER_00]: Here are three thoughts for the Christian in the artificial intelligence world.

[SPEAKER_00]: Number one, look to Jesus as the epitome of humanity.

[SPEAKER_00]: What you mean, Ray, Jesus not just Mary little baby, he not just to save you of the world, he's not just God, the Son, and the Son of God.

[SPEAKER_00]: Jesus was also a human's human.

[SPEAKER_00]: We don't look the Jesus religiously.

[SPEAKER_00]: Y'all, we look the Jesus authentically.

[SPEAKER_00]: He's a real example of how to be the best human.

[SPEAKER_00]: Jesus was the greatest human that ever lived and we look at his example of humanity.

[SPEAKER_00]: That's why John 14 says that we beheld his glory as the only begotten of the Father.

[SPEAKER_00]: We watched a word become flesh.

[SPEAKER_00]: We watched God become human.

[SPEAKER_00]: Jesus said in Hebrews 10, verse number five, he says, you have designed a body for me.

[SPEAKER_00]: Which is to say, when God needed a sacrifice to fulfill his holiness, he could have sent his son in any form.

[SPEAKER_00]: but chose humanity.

[SPEAKER_00]: What you mean, Ralph?

[SPEAKER_00]: God could have conjoined God's divine essence with anything.

[SPEAKER_00]: But God said, you know what?

[SPEAKER_00]: The best thing for me to conjoin myself too is a human body.

[SPEAKER_00]: So you gave me a body.

[SPEAKER_00]: What does that mean?

[SPEAKER_00]: That mean Jesus was all God and all man.

[SPEAKER_00]: So Jesus could show us how to be a good human.

[SPEAKER_00]: What you mean, how to be a good human?

[SPEAKER_00]: How to treat people?

[SPEAKER_00]: When they got needs, how to help people, when they need healing, how to help people accountable, when they too religious, how to die for people and sacrifice yourself for the betterment of other.

[SPEAKER_00]: Jesus was a human's human, right?

[SPEAKER_00]: God, the Darius Daniels, a wonderful preacher, says to this where he said, God didn't become human to make us into little gods, but God became human to show us how to be humans.

[SPEAKER_00]: When you read about Jesus, ask yourself, how human was he in this moment?

[SPEAKER_00]: How can I be more like him in a similar scenario?

[SPEAKER_00]: So we look at the Jesus as the epitome number two, cultivate a strong relationship with the Holy Spirit.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'm almost done.

[SPEAKER_00]: Cultivate a strong relationship with the Holy Spirit.

[SPEAKER_00]: I want you to hear me and hear me clearly.

[SPEAKER_00]: The voice of God in your life does not sound like me.

[SPEAKER_00]: The voice of God in your life sounds like the voice of God in your heart that's been cultivated over the intentional building of a relationship.

[SPEAKER_00]: Why is that important?

[SPEAKER_00]: Because if you need to rely on my voice to hear from God, you're gonna only hear from God, 45 Sundays a year.

[SPEAKER_00]: Because I'm gonna take seven months off.

[SPEAKER_00]: So you only want to hear God speak 45 days out of 365 when he got something to say to you every day?

[SPEAKER_00]: All right.

[SPEAKER_00]: All right.

[SPEAKER_00]: Why is that important?

[SPEAKER_00]: Because if the voice of God in your life is external to someone else and not internal to your own dynamic, you become cold dependent on somebody else, the go between you and God, and you don't need me to hear from God.

[SPEAKER_00]: I got to step on this a little bit here's why because I want to be the opposite of what narcissistic co-leaders are.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'm gonna tell you how to start a code.

[SPEAKER_00]: You already?

[SPEAKER_00]: This how you start a code.

[SPEAKER_00]: Be charismatic and keep the people following you stupid as you possibly can.

[SPEAKER_00]: And whenever they try to think for themselves, pop that hand for not letting you think for them.

[SPEAKER_00]: Sound familiar?

[SPEAKER_00]: I'm gonna lead it right there.

[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not gonna do that today.

[SPEAKER_00]: Call leaders, keep people stupid because I need you to obey my voice.

[SPEAKER_00]: And then what do call leaders do with that kind of power?

[SPEAKER_00]: Manipulate and take, subtract, they don't add.

[SPEAKER_00]: That's not the way for us.

[SPEAKER_00]: The way for us is you need the Holy Spirit for you, you know what?

[SPEAKER_00]: Cause you need the Holy Spirit so much and the Holy Spirit can tell you if somebody lying before they even open the mouth of the Spirit.

[SPEAKER_00]: You need the Holy Spirit so strong in your life that even if somebody got a microphone standing in a pool pit behind a podium, the Lord can tell you they align the true flame in it.

[SPEAKER_00]: That's the true spark of intelligence, the Holy Spirit.

[SPEAKER_00]: Which you may remember, Romans 8, 14, for all who are being led by the Spirit of God, these are the sons and daughters of God.

[SPEAKER_00]: Galatians 5, 25, if we live by the Spirit, let's wet church, follow Him.

[SPEAKER_00]: And here's what the Spirit of Do, here's a major key.

[SPEAKER_00]: The Spirit will guide us in the proper use and improper use of all things, including the A.

[SPEAKER_00]: Go home to swear to tell you when you're wrong, even if you don't know the Bible verse, but why you wrong?

[SPEAKER_00]: You haven't been like, mmm, somebody write about this.

[SPEAKER_00]: But you can't go into the Bible to find the verse to tell you why you shouldn't be doing this.

[SPEAKER_00]: Like, man, I need some money.

[SPEAKER_00]: I was finner off this bank.

[SPEAKER_00]: But somebody's telling me, leave the ski mask and the weapon and where that baby is.

[SPEAKER_00]: That's the devil, you better preach.

[SPEAKER_00]: You're a,

[SPEAKER_00]: and a child shall eat them.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.

[SPEAKER_00]: By the mouse of babies, he has perfected his praise.

[SPEAKER_00]: She said, that's the deal with his show is.

[SPEAKER_00]: But you can't go to a Bible verse that say, don't rob banks, you just know in your spirit.

[SPEAKER_00]: Let Jesus' example and the Holy Spirit's power shape you into the wonderful human God created you to be.

[SPEAKER_00]: Worship Jesus as the example, cultivate a relationship with the Holy Spirit, that's your intelligence, and then let Jesus and the Spirit make you the greatest human you was designed to be.

[SPEAKER_00]: Because Jesus and the Spirit will help you see the things in your life that are marring the image of God through you.

[SPEAKER_00]: Help me to be the greatest human, I can be what kind of human, the kind of human who loves my neighbor as myself.

[SPEAKER_00]: What kind of human the kind of human that's described by these characteristics now the fruit of the spirit.

[SPEAKER_00]: I love joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control.

[SPEAKER_00]: You know, but a robot can't have uploaded into it.

[SPEAKER_00]: Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.

[SPEAKER_00]: Be human, be so human that people can feel God's image through you.

[SPEAKER_00]: Amen, church.

[SPEAKER_00]: Amen.

[SPEAKER_00]: Get a little of the heck type of praise if you would.
