  1. Welcome to the podcast of the White Church in Adelaide, South

  2. Australia. Keep.

  3. Praying for the guys that are still in South Africa.

  4. So Dave and Hilary are going to be flying back.

  5. I think it's Wednesday or Thursday.

  6. They're going to enjoy some time as a family at a game park.

  7. So for those of you who haven't been to South Africa, that

  8. literally means just, it's not like games, it's like counting

  9. the children to make sure they leave because it's like where

  10. there's wild animals, so wild lions, wild elephants and stuff

  11. like that. So they're going to a place

  12. called Pillensburg, which is a pretty cool place with swimming

  13. pools and there's stuff. So it's a bit of a resorty, but

  14. it's also wild animals. So be praying for them for a

  15. refreshing time. Dan and Chantel are to church

  16. this morning. Yeah, 7 hours behind this

  17. morning and then they'll be flying back tonight.

  18. So pray for their travels as well.

  19. Thank you for looking after my wife and my kids.

  20. I really did appreciate it. Guys, it's so hard, but I want

  21. to encourage you guys as well. So you know how we gathered just

  22. before we all flew out and we just asked what, what are we

  23. feeling God would do? And what I was encouraged is we

  24. had words like it's time and that is being handed over and

  25. stuff like that. And you know, we get to the

  26. Global Equip and the second session, somebody stands up in

  27. the title of the message, it's time.

  28. And we're just like, sheesh. And then a couple of sessions

  29. later, somebody's like, man, I feel like battens are being

  30. handed over. A little church in Adelaide,

  31. Australia. Hearing the voice of God.

  32. That's not just happening here, but happening globally.

  33. I tell you, isn't that amazing? Just like God would Global, God

  34. would speak to a little church in Adelaide and said, this is

  35. what I want to do, not just here, but what I'm doing around

  36. the world. So I want to encourage you guys

  37. like let's, let's lean into the voice of God because he's

  38. speaking to us not just for our context, but actually globally.

  39. And that's awesome. So the prayers we pray, we pray

  40. for us, we pray for them, which is super cool.

  41. And something else that we shared and was a guy got up

  42. called Leo. Many of us may know of Leo.

  43. He leads a church in Sydney in GGC Glorious Gospel Church.

  44. And he actually spoke about multiplication, which is a

  45. really cool word, but he reflected on something that I'm

  46. going to share this morning. And that was that we had, as I

  47. said, over 5000 people. There was 34 nations

  48. represented. And NCML and New Covenant

  49. Ministries International has been going for 45 years, which I

  50. didn't realize, but it started with a group of just a few men

  51. getting together and saying, what does the Bible say of how

  52. we should do church? And 45 years later, that group

  53. of men multiplied and is now working into hundreds of nations

  54. around the world. Countless people are being

  55. saved. Churches have been planted,

  56. nations have been taken for the gospel.

  57. And I say all that to say that we're Dudley's going to be

  58. sharing this morning. And he was one of those original

  59. men in that small group that just went, what does the Bible

  60. say? And then multiplied and

  61. multiplied and multiplied and multiplied.

  62. So I'd encourage this this morning, just open your hearts

  63. because this is just not just somebody, our church, but

  64. somebody who has really committed to just, hey, what

  65. does the Bible teach? And we've seen incredible fruit

  66. over 45 years around the globe. And so it's an incredible

  67. privilege to have him share this morning.

  68. So would you come up, Dudley? Father, we thank you for this

  69. gift that you've placed in our church.

  70. We thank you for the words that you've spoken to him.

  71. You've shared upon him the gifting that you've put upon his

  72. life, not just impact us here, but the lasting fruit around the

  73. globe. We just pray just the word that

  74. you've given him for us this morning would bear fruit in our

  75. hearts just as it has borne fruit over the last 45 years

  76. around the world. We thank you in Jesus name,

  77. Amen. Amen.

  78. Thank you. It's always a privilege to share

  79. the word of God anywhere in the world with any group of people.

  80. But for us, this is our home church.

  81. And it's. Yeah, it's like a double

  82. privilege as far as I'm concerned.

  83. Just excuse my throat. I'm not sick anymore.

  84. I was last weekend and I'm still just getting over the clearing

  85. of my chest. So I'm going to have to use this

  86. mic and sometimes sound like I'm shouting when my voice gets a

  87. little lower. I don't have the strongest voice

  88. anymore. Age catches up with you and

  89. changes lots of things, but I felt like I just need to say to

  90. you before we start this morning that this church is a very

  91. precious church to God, Very special people.

  92. I don't know that we know that as deeply as God feels His love

  93. for us, most of us have walked a long, long road with God.

  94. Some of us it's a little shorter, but God has been

  95. faithful to every one of us at every level, all the time, no

  96. matter what. We've blown it.

  97. We've been in victory, we've been in defeat, we've been

  98. strong, we've been weak, But God has never changed, and His love

  99. never changes. It's a wonderful thing to know

  100. that nothing in all the world, not even sin, if it's just

  101. simply confessed, nothing can separate us from His love, the

  102. love of God, which is in Jesus Christ our Lord.

  103. Nothing. Sometimes we come and we feel

  104. like we've blown it even sometimes on the way to the

  105. meeting and therefore we feel we're unworthy.

  106. Let me just clear something up for all of us.

  107. Again, you all know this, but let me clear it up for you.

  108. You'll never be worthy and nor will I.

  109. There was only one and that was Jesus and because of His

  110. worthiness, God would just wants to keep pouring love and life

  111. into us all. So I'm going to pick up this

  112. morning from something Justin was sharing the scripture he

  113. used anyway just before he left and not I think it was a Sunday

  114. before he left and it's found in Ephesians chapter 3 and verse

    Ephesians 3 chapter mention

  115. 10. If you'll just turn with me now,

  116. I did give my scriptures to Hillary and somehow or the

  117. other, those scriptures have not got to Peter today for him to be

  118. able to be ahead of us. So I'm going to have to ask you

  119. to turn in some of the scriptures If when I'll give

  120. them if he hasn't got them up quick enough.

  121. We're going to have to take a little more time looking up in

  122. our Bibles. If you can get them up quick

  123. enough. He's a better man than I than I

  124. am. All right, Ephesians chapter 3

    Ephesians 3 chapter mention

  125. before we read it. And from verse 10, we're going

  126. to read to the 13th verse when we're trying to train people

  127. that can be our kids, people in the workplace, whatever it is.

  128. So often we share with them the what they should do, the how

  129. they should do it, when they should do it, where they should

  130. do it, etcetera. But we very often forget to tell

  131. them the why. Why should you do what I'm going

  132. to tell you, where I tell you, etcetera, etcetera.

  133. Even telling, bringing up our kids and so many of us as

  134. preachers, that's our problem as well.

  135. We tell people what to do. We tell them what the Bible

  136. tells them they need to do what God says.

  137. But very often we we neglect to tell them why.

  138. And that's what we want to look at this morning.

  139. And so if you'll turn with me, if you have your Bibles open and

  140. I don't appear, you've got it up there.

  141. God's intention. This is what you were preaching

  142. just before you left. His intention was that now

  143. that's today forever. That now is tomorrow.

  144. When we get tomorrow, that's now.

  145. It was now when it was written 2000 years ago.

  146. God lives in the eternal now. God is not a time space

  147. creature, we are God. What happened 10,000 years ago

  148. is as if it were happening right now.

  149. And if Jesus were to tarry long enough, if it was 10,000 years

  150. to come, which I doubt could ever happen, it's just God

  151. doesn't see that as future. It's now for God.

  152. He lives in the eternal now. So all of his truth is the

  153. eternal now. All he's promised is now

  154. everything. And so his intention was that

  155. through the church, that's us. That's the strongest believer on

  156. planet Earth, and that's the weakest believer on planet

  157. earth. If we've trusted Christ, we are

  158. part of the church. Even if we want to cut ourselves

  159. off from the church, we still remain part of his body.

  160. We can sulk, we can stay away, we can do what we like.

  161. We can strictly ignore people. Whatever we're we're still part

  162. of the church. I want that to sink in.

  163. Don't think because you sulk or do whatever you do, you're no

  164. longer one of us. And don't think because you've

  165. done something wrong against one of us, that you no longer one of

  166. us, you with me. And what was his intention was

  167. that the manifold wisdom of God should be made known to the

  168. rulers and authorities in the heavenly realms.

  169. That's the demon powers. Satan knows he's defeated.

  170. He's like a roaring lion, but he has lost his teeth.

  171. He can still bite and hurt just from the strength of his jaw,

  172. like a lion with our teeth, but he can't RIP us apart.

  173. He knows he's beaten. He knows this Bible better than

  174. most of us. He knows what God intention is.

  175. But the problem is that it only is.

  176. It's only going to be through the church.

  177. It's not that just because it's written in the Bible.

  178. It's through the church that the manifold wisdom of God is going

  179. to be made known to these real principalities of these

  180. authorities in the heavenly realms.

  181. If we could go to the next verse please, according to his eternal

  182. purpose, which he accomplished in Christ Jesus our Lord next

  183. verse please in Him and through faith in him we may approach God

  184. with freedom and confidence. You know that Jesus done done.

  185. We're going to carry on with that.

  186. Jesus actually said this so we he invites us.

  187. He says come boldly, boldly, not cringingly.

  188. Isn't that a wonderful thing? I'm going to finish that the

  189. verse that I'm starting to quote, but isn't it wonderful to

  190. think God, I've just sinned so badly right that very moment,

  191. but I can get off and get on my knees and come boldly don't even

  192. have to come cringing the oh God, I'm a Richard man.

  193. I can come boldly knowing I am that, but I can approach that

  194. throne of grace every time I need it to obtain mercy and help

  195. every time I have need. That's what the scripture says.

  196. I hope these things just well, not just here, they're here

  197. moving to the next verse 3. We can approach God with and I

  198. ask you therefore not to be discouraged because of my

  199. sufferings for you, which are your glory.

  200. Now the subject I want to cover this morning is why the reason

  201. why we come to church, church meetings, we call it come to

  202. church. We are the church.

  203. We can't come to ourselves. We come to meet.

  204. Why do we come to meet? And most of us have been around

  205. for a long time and so many of us, if not all of us have known

  206. some of these things that I'm going to share with you.

  207. The why. But sometimes, through just

  208. life's pressures, all the things that come upon us, the demands,

  209. the conflicts, things that are said lightheartedly or said to

  210. hurt, whatever, all these things are making an impression upon

  211. us. You sit and watch the TV.

  212. Everything you see there is making an impact upon your life.

  213. And all those things are geared by the devil to discourage you,

  214. to make you feel disqualified. Just think about it.

  215. Why then do we come to meet these to meet on a Sunday?

  216. And I'm going to be speaking primarily on a Sunday.

  217. Our Sunday meeting, that's the first day of the week, was when

  218. the Church of the New Testament actually met.

  219. Not on the Sabbath, on the on the Sunday.

  220. We are not Sabbatarians. It's the Lord's Day.

  221. It's a special day. This is the day that the Lord

  222. has made. It's every day, but he set aside

  223. one day for us to worship and he says that some have, some will

  224. worship other days than we do, but there has to be a day when

  225. the church gets together. And in this country, by and

  226. large, this is the day we do it, the first day of the week.

  227. So why do we do this? In order to for me to try and

  228. answer that, I want to just say that each one of us has to grasp

  229. afresh this morning that there are a number of reasons why

  230. people have descended into, I'm going to use that word, if you

  231. don't mind me, descended into the reason why they come to

  232. church. That's the first thing.

  233. And the second thing is, if we're going to understand why we

  234. need to come together and meet together on a Sunday like we do,

  235. we need to understand what the Bible says we should be doing

  236. and weigh it up with what we are doing.

  237. Are you with me? So the first one is what are

  238. these models, these examples that people began to set that

  239. have now made? This is how church is done in

  240. different places. And I've got a number of them

  241. here. I think it's 8 or 9 very

  242. quickly. Some of them I've shared with

  243. people before, some of you will have heard some of them.

  244. The first one is this, people have developed this kind of

  245. strategy, this model, this modus operandi.

  246. First one is what I call the pastoral church.

  247. And everyone of you know that you want to be pastored you

  248. because pastoring past being pastored is being cared for.

  249. And we all want to be cared for. And God has appointed pastors to

  250. pastor us, but He's also appointed us to care for one

  251. another. If you read through Ezekiel 34

  252. and some of those Old Testament things about the sheep and the

  253. shepherds, you see that sheep should not be butting one

  254. another, hurting one another. They should be caring for one

  255. another. So we've developed a caring

  256. model. That's good in a sense, but it's

  257. in itself it's inadequate. And so many churches are just

  258. pastoral. I come to the meeting, I want to

  259. be cared for. I want everybody to fuss all

  260. over me. It just gets worse and worse and

  261. worse. And you understand this, that we

  262. move from it being hymn centered to us centered.

  263. And so many churches, that's what it's about.

  264. They come to a meeting, they go home and say I did not get my

  265. needs met. It's all about me.

  266. I just want to say this very quickly, then I'll move to the

  267. second one. No matter how bad the preacher

  268. preaches and how things go in the meeting, if you believe in

  269. the love of God, God will care for your needs.

  270. I remember up in Zimbabwe once I went to a church up in Kariba,

  271. like Kariba was the only church he was and I was we were not

  272. preaching that Sunday morning, we're preaching Sunday night.

  273. I went to this meeting and this man got up in all these robes

  274. and garments and all the candles were burning and everything was

  275. going on. And I don't know what he was

  276. preaching about. He outside of the fact that he

  277. said he used that scripture that who our names are engraved on

  278. the palms of God's hands. God so ministered so deeply to

  279. me that man did not know Christ. He didn't know Christ, but I got

  280. deeply ministered to. Why?

  281. Because you go to church at meetings knowing that this is

  282. what God wants us to do and he'll meet our needs.

  283. But we should never make that the reason why we go to church.

  284. That's just part of the blessing that comes with doing what God

  285. says. All right, Second one is that

  286. people like the priestly kind of type of church where everybody

  287. gets a chance to play their part, say what they want to, to

  288. be heard. And their church is just like

  289. that. Some of them started off really

  290. well when they believed in the priesthood of all ministries, of

  291. all the priests, of all believers.

  292. But slowly but surely it degenerated until we begin to

  293. give stories about ourselves, made it all about us, our needs,

  294. get the focus on us instead of Him.

  295. And that's the priestly church and their churches like that all

  296. over. When I get a chance, I'm going

  297. to jump in and say what I want to say, whether they like it or

  298. not. Whether the problem is that even

  299. sometimes when we speak about the gifts of the Spirit, some of

  300. those gifts or what what is said to be gifts have no valid reason

  301. for having been expressed in that meeting.

  302. But we act like God spoke. And so eventually we just

  303. descend into this priestly church.

  304. The third one is the preaching church.

  305. And so many people starts off well, we love the word of God,

  306. but then we want to hear from a man or a woman who can, who's

  307. really got the gift of the gab that excites us that no, I mean,

  308. sometimes I've, I've been in meetings where I, I've just been

  309. astounded, flabbergasted by the, the man's or woman's gift of the

  310. God, the way they can pronounce things and say things, but I

  311. don't know what they're actually saying.

  312. Just wow. And so you find these huge

  313. churches around the world that when that preacher leaves,

  314. people just dissipate and gone was just a preaching center.

  315. It wasn't a church. And all of us want to hear the

  316. word of God, but we want to hear it under the anointing of the

  317. Spirit of God. We want to hear it where God

  318. gives revelation. It's not just how well can you

  319. communicate. And their churches like that all

  320. over the world, Some of them are in the 10s of thousands because

  321. of the preacher, not because of it being a church.

  322. It's just a gathering point #4 people that I call it the

  323. praying church, people who like to pray, they only want to pray.

  324. There's not enough prayer in this church, so I'm leaving.

  325. People say we need to pray more, and I've essentially what that

  326. wild prayer is. It is absolutely essential.

  327. In the end, what it degenerates into is why aren't you praying

  328. for me? There needs to be more prayer

  329. about me. And so it moves from Christ

  330. centered slowly but surely. None of none of this is

  331. intentional until it becomes all about me again.

  332. Praying churches. Now all of those things are good

  333. and needed in the church, but in themselves they're not enough.

  334. Then firstly there's the praise churches and these are the

  335. people who want super bands, musicians, professional singers.

  336. They want everything to just go well.

  337. I want to get excited by the music and I just want to sing

  338. song after song after song after song.

  339. And it doesn't. It's not coming from here.

  340. It's the band. I mean, I watched the mosh, but

  341. you know that. Well, I can't do it anymore with

  342. them. I'm sorry.

  343. I'm still. But all this bouncing up and

  344. down, that is just what happens in all the Worldly Raves

  345. gatherings when superstars are trying to excite the people.

  346. Get them going. And then the church brought it

  347. in and so now we bounce around too.

  348. And if we can bounce around enough, and I'm not against

  349. that. I used to bounce around when I

  350. could. I'm a little too old to bounce

  351. now, but I'm just saying that that's what it becomes.

  352. So that if it's not exciting enough for me, I go looking

  353. elsewhere. That's the reason why they come

  354. to church, the praise churches and then we get the presence

  355. churches. They wanting the Holy Spirit to

  356. manifest himself in a way that they want.

  357. And if that doesn't manifest then they go looking for what

  358. elsewhere. That's one of one of the largest

  359. churches around the world is that group of people that move

  360. from 1 so-called presence church to another trying to find this

  361. presence instead of looking at what does the Bible talk about

  362. the presence of God. You know, in the presence of God

  363. there is fullness of joy and joy lusts.

  364. Because if there's a if God's present in the meeting and I

  365. walk out having been touched by God, God's present with me in a

  366. very real way. Anyway.

  367. I don't need the crowd. I don't need certain

  368. manifestations to prove God's present, but they have

  369. prescribed certain manifestations and they're all

  370. over the world today. They're the second largest

  371. church in the world. The largest 1 is what I the next

  372. one I'm going to talk about. It's the phantom church.

  373. What do I mean by phantom church?

  374. It's the church just moves from one place to the other.

  375. It doesn't feel like it's committed to anything.

  376. It doesn't believe in leadership.

  377. It doesn't have to roll up or be faithful at prayer meetings or

  378. anything else. It's just, I just do what I

  379. like, but I love God. We meet when we want to, we do

  380. as we please, etcetera, etcetera.

  381. The phantom church, they are all over the world.

  382. That's the biggest church, the church group that just moves

  383. from one place to another and never settles down and believe.

  384. You see, to me, a group of people meeting two or three

  385. together together in, in, in Christ's name is not a church.

  386. It's a church when you have leadership.

  387. It's a church when we submit and surrender to authority.

  388. If we will not submit and surrender to authority, have

  389. leaders. Godly, God appointed, God chosen

  390. leaders. We're not a church.

  391. We're just a group of people that meet and thank God we do

  392. and we can. We can meet in our homes.

  393. We can meet where we like, but that's not a church.

  394. It can be part of the church. I hope I'm making sense and I'm

  395. not being too hard or harsh. All right.

  396. Then also the number 8. So I think that was the 7th 1.

  397. The 8th 1 is what I call the professional church.

  398. The professional church. What does that mean?

  399. Well, everything is done like it's a business.

  400. We do not do that or help that person because we, our budget

  401. doesn't allow it. You know, when the church's

  402. budget dictates what you get involved in, it's finished.

  403. You might as well pack up because God only responds not to

  404. budgets. He responds to faith, and faith

  405. is the substance of seeing things that have not come about

  406. yet. I hope you get with them.

  407. But the professional church anyway, everything, everything's

  408. excellent. It's got the best of this, the

  409. best of that, all of it's equipment, all of its sound

  410. systems, audio systems, everything is just so

  411. professional. It's all worked out so great.

  412. Nothing ever goes wrong. And then people are just

  413. switched on by that and then we move on quickly to the one that

  414. is biblical and it's called the prophetic Apostolic Church.

  415. And I think if I got it right, David preached on the prophetic

  416. Apostolic to some degree last Sunday.

  417. I wasn't. Yeah, I was sick and, and, and

  418. told me when she got home what happened there.

  419. So the prophetic Apostolic or the Apostolic prophetic?

  420. I've just used prophetic first because I've tried to keep all

  421. those peas because you didn't pick it up.

  422. And I only use alliteration so that you can remember easier.

  423. There's no other reason for it. All right, So it's the prophetic

  424. Apostolic Church and to be prophetic and to be Apostolic,

  425. you've got to be able to see the future, but you've also got to

  426. be be able to become the future. It's now you've seen the future

  427. and not becoming it. The prophetic Apostolic Church.

  428. The word Apostolic means to go, the sent one.

  429. It means you don't stay, you go. Now, having said all of that, I

  430. want to come back to all of that in a moment.

  431. So that's the first thing. If we're going to understand the

  432. why, we got to understand how these other things developed and

  433. why they developed and why people are going to those

  434. meetings, and yet they're so unbiblical.

  435. So the second thing I said is that we've got to understand

  436. what the New Testament teaches should happen in a church

  437. meeting. And I don't know if we can read

  438. all these scriptures. So I'm going to just this is the

  439. New Testament, the Old Testament, and what happens in

  440. heaven when Jesus is on the throne and the angels and the

  441. living creatures and the redeemed and all of the prophets

  442. and the patriarchs and even the apostles all worship with us.

  443. Can you imagine that there's a day coming when Paul, Barnabas,

  444. Timothy, Peter, James, John, Moses, Abraham, David, the king,

  445. all of these people, we're going to see them.

  446. I mean, just imagine you're bumping into this, just walking

  447. through this crowd and hi, hi. How are you going, Paul?

  448. So that's what you look like. I mean, that's serious.

  449. What's going to happen, because it says in the Scriptures, when

  450. Jesus comes back, he's going to take us to be with him.

  451. And when he takes us to be with him, we're going to see him

  452. first of all as he really is. And then you and I are going to

  453. be like him. Can you imagine?

  454. What does that mean? You and I are going to be like

  455. him. Here I am standing up with so

  456. hips. You know, we're getting older.

  457. What? Whatever the case.

  458. And then all I mean, I'm going to just be like Jesus.

  459. He's never been sick. He's never got old.

  460. He's never forgotten a thing. Memory is not part of the

  461. problem for him. We're going to be like him.

  462. Just imagine that. But anyway, let me try and get

  463. back to all of this. So it's going to be, what is the

  464. Old Testament? What is the New Testament?

  465. What is it? The, the redeemed?

  466. What do they do in heaven? Why this is what it is Psalm

  467. 149. We will read just that Psalm and

  468. I think many of you know what's in there, but this is what the

  469. Old Testament church, the redeemed of God's people, what

  470. they how they what they even got involved in the trying to answer

  471. the why Psalm. What did I say, 119, 149?

  472. Sorry. I thought maybe Peter had got it

  473. up there and then I wouldn't have to.

  474. It's up there now. Praise the Lord now.

  475. This is this is how the Old Testament gathered.

  476. The Saints. Praise the Lord, Sing the Lord

  477. to the Lord. A new song.

  478. His praise in the assembly of the Saints.

  479. That's those that look towards the cross.

  480. We, the Saints that look back on the cross, they were the ones

  481. that look forward to the cross. They knew that there was a Lamb

  482. that was to be slain. They trusted God for their sins

  483. to be forgiven, even though it was only in part until Jesus

  484. came. But every one of those who died

  485. in the Old Testament that looked forward to the Lamb will be with

  486. us in heaven. So this is how they are.

  487. Praise to the Lord, sing a new song.

  488. What does that mean? That's what should be happening

  489. in our meetings. I don't know about you, but in

  490. my devotional time, I very often just sing my songs, my own

  491. songs, songs that have never been sung before anywhere on the

  492. earth. Do you?

  493. And is it possible that that could happen for us as the

  494. church, so we could start singing those songs?

  495. You just come back from South Africa.

  496. I remember one of the occasions when we were there when while we

  497. were singing and praising God, we heard the sound up in the

  498. rafters of this huge auditorium. And the sound was angels

  499. singing. And then the new songs that just

  500. broke out as a result. Just all over that, the

  501. auditorium, thousands upon thousands.

  502. I don't know that there was one person that wasn't singing a new

  503. song. What I'm trying to say is that's

  504. what God wants to happen when we come to church.

  505. That we that that we come not just to sing the songs, that the

  506. person leading the the music section of our worship time that

  507. they've chosen, but that we sing.

  508. And you see, the church used to do that, but then people began

  509. to sing silly songs and people began to do silly things with

  510. those songs. And so the church clamped down

  511. on that and said you can't do that.

  512. And then it all became microphone, not there, only from

  513. here. And it's a hard thing when the

  514. church gets grows, it's easier while we're small, but as you

  515. grow, it's harder and harder to just let people be free.

  516. But that's what God wants. Again, that was how they worship

  517. God in the Old Testament. And you'll see that's all how

  518. they worship God in the New Testament.

  519. But reading on peace, Psalm 149 again, let Israel rejoice in

  520. their maker. Let the people of Zion and we

  521. the Zion of God today be glad in their king.

  522. That's how they worship. They were glad.

  523. They were glad to be with God's people.

  524. They were glad that God was in their midst.

  525. Reading on, please let them praise his name with.

  526. That's it. Now.

  527. There was a time when I used to be able to jump all around and

  528. dance and carry on. I can't anymore, but I still can

  529. sway. I could, you know, we'll get to

  530. this, hopefully. I don't know that I'll ever get

  531. there. But part of worship is to use

  532. every part of your body, everything to praise God folk.

  533. Is there anyone who cannot do this?

  534. Put your hand up if you can't do this.

  535. You see what's happened right now is I've swept away every

  536. excuse you have as to why you don't.

  537. Every one of us can. And in actual fact, Scripture

  538. says we should lift up holy hands.

  539. God wants us to use our these hands.

  540. I think to my to my understanding from Scripture,

  541. hands are for two things. One is to raise them up before

  542. God and praise and prayer and the other just to discipline

  543. your children. No, the rod hands are to give

  544. love, comfort, encouragement. God doesn't slap people, he

  545. disciplines them. Anyway, I'm getting sidetracked

  546. again. That's my problem as a preacher,

  547. you pick up things in God and then you just, you get

  548. sidetracked. Anyway, let's move on.

  549. Let them back to that scripture, please.

  550. Sorry, verse three. Let them praise His name with

  551. dancing and make music to Him with tambourine and heart.

  552. We can. Musical instruments are there

  553. for God's glory, not for the musician, not even to excite us,

  554. but we want to make everything available, use our whole bodies

  555. and all the gifting to do what? To bring praise to God.

  556. Moving on, please to verse 4. For the Lord takes delight in

  557. his people. He crowns the humble with

  558. salvation. Moving on, please let the Saints

  559. rejoice in this honor and even sing for joy in their on their

  560. beds. I just want to clear up

  561. something here if you don't mind me.

  562. Just decide to track. There is absolutely nothing

  563. wrong with you lying on your bed and praising God.

  564. When I wake up every morning before I get out of bed, I start

  565. to sing and praise God while I'm in bed.

  566. I do that when I get into my study, but I give Him a good

  567. dose of my praise before I even get up and go to the bathroom

  568. and then to my study to study the word of God and do some

  569. serious praying. We should be praising God If we

  570. can do that on our beds, how much more are we together and

  571. their people here used to help us to connect with God.

  572. Are you hearing me? Is that?

  573. Let me just moving on. May the praise of God be in

  574. their mouths and a double edged sword in their hands.

  575. Why? To inflict vengeance on the

  576. nations and punishments on the people.

  577. To bind their kings with fetters and nobles with shackles of

  578. iron. To carry out the sentence

  579. written against him. This is the glory of all his

  580. Saints. Praise the Lord.

  581. You see, when the church begins to praise God like the scripture

  582. says, it's like God can actually bind demonic powers.

  583. And I believe that the more praise that ascends, the more

  584. damage is inflicted upon the enemy.

  585. If all Anna and I pray this regularly when we pray together

  586. in the morning that the church would just praise God and

  587. worship God like the scripture says so that the church and the

  588. nation, the whole nation can be. If if all the churches today

  589. meeting in this country, we're to praise God just like this old

  590. covenant part today. Do you know what would be

  591. released in this nation? The bondage set, people set free

  592. from this binding, these fetters that hold the people down, drug

  593. addiction, all the stuff that goes on starts to break off.

  594. That's what revival brings. I remember reading of these

  595. Hiberdean revival on the Isle of Lewis.

  596. Men were underground, big tough mints, black with coal working

  597. underground, and the people were out there praising God.

  598. Just a few. No, they didn't even go into the

  599. mines, but these miners would come out of the mines and fall

  600. on their knees in repentance. Not a soul, nobody preaching

  601. nothing. Why?

  602. Because God was revival had come.

  603. God was breaking the fetters when the church, if you and I

  604. could come to church on Sunday to the church meeting with a

  605. heart like this, you don't know what will be happening in this

  606. area and have just spread and spread and spread.

  607. We don't have to wait for the whole church to do it.

  608. Let's be the part of the church that will do it now, next

  609. Sunday. You'll come with a different

  610. heart, with a different aspect, understanding of what God wants

  611. done in amongst these people. All right, well, we can't.

  612. Psalm 150 is another one. If you're making a note, I won't

  613. read it to you. One Corinthians, Chapter 11,

  614. reading from verse 1 all the way through to chapter 14, verse 40.

  615. All of those things are what happens in a meeting, how you

  616. break bread, etcetera, etcetera, which are things I'd hope I

  617. could cover. But all of those things are what

  618. God wants to happen. Gifts of the Spirit.

  619. I'm hoping we can get to that. All right, so that there are

  620. other scriptures I'd like to have given you, but I'm going to

  621. leave it. Well, maybe I can just say make

  622. a note of Ephesians chapter 5 as well, please, verses 15 to 20.

    Ephesians 5 chapter mention

  623. So we're looking not only at Old Testament scriptures, but New

  624. Testament Scriptures and then also Colossians chapter 3,

    Colossians 3:16

  625. verses 16 and 17. So now let's get back to why do

  626. we attend church, whatever happens here on a Sunday, And

  627. those leaders need to hear that. We need to hear that whatever

  628. happens here on a Sunday must have global.

  629. Ramifications Global. Global means more than in our

  630. meeting. Global means more than Adelaide

  631. and more than Australia. It means the whole globe.

  632. So what takes place here? When we look at what can, what

  633. the church should be doing, we can see we can have global

  634. ramifications. You know Jesus when he walked

  635. this earth, the 3 1/2 years that he equipped his disciples, Jesus

  636. never stayed in one place for long.

  637. He just moved around all over the place, city to city, village

  638. to village. Sometimes he was out on the on

  639. the next to the sea. Other times he was in the hills

  640. or the mountains. Do a global ramific.

  641. Jesus was never just saying it's all about my little community.

  642. I don't understand how people can call themselves community

  643. churches. Christ Church is more than a

  644. community, the community. But the problem is that we may

  645. be in a church that doesn't call themselves Community Church, but

  646. we may have a community mind. It's no bigger than that, you

  647. know, Jesus said this as the Father has sent me.

  648. I was in heaven. I left where I was comfortable.

  649. Can you imagine being Jesus, fellowshipping with the Father,

  650. that intimacy, fellowshipping with the Holy Spirit, having all

  651. the angels worship him, glorify him all the time.

  652. And he left it as the Father has sent me.

  653. So send are you. So Dudley, I didn't save you to

  654. stay where you live. I saved you to send you wherever

  655. I want to. Now it may only be down the

  656. road, but it may be overseas. And if we and I don't catch

  657. that, if we come with, I'm now 80 or 90 years old, I can't go

  658. anymore. I'm I'm out of that one.

  659. You've missed what God's about because even if you don't get to

  660. go there, you can change the world globally.

  661. If we come to the meetings, you see God's it's got to be the

  662. meeting. God's not going to change the

  663. world by Dudley sitting at home praying 24 hours a day.

  664. If he was the monasteries would have changed the world long ago

  665. where the monks cut themselves off from everything, lock

  666. themselves away and they say they praying and nothing's

  667. changing. It's the church through the

  668. church, not through Dudley, not through Justin, not through

  669. whatever your name is on your own, through us, the church.

  670. So I hope you catch this is part of the reason why God wants the

  671. church to meet. We haven't even got to the first

  672. point really at the but God's intention was to go, never to

  673. gather, to gather, yes, but never with the intention of just

  674. that's where it ends. God's intention was to give, not

  675. to just gain hold on to get. So when you come to a meeting,

  676. I'm not talking just about finances.

  677. Now, when you come to a meeting, are you coming to just get or

  678. you coming to give? It's global.

  679. All right, let me see if I can give you one or two of those.

  680. Why do we attend church? I'm going to give you some

  681. reasons. Now if you had your Bibles or we

  682. won't read this now, but Acts chapter 2 verses 42 to 47 where

    Acts 2:42–47

  683. it talks about how why they get what they did when they gathered

  684. together who had all things in common, etcetera.

  685. But it seems they devoted themselves to the apostles

  686. teaching to to our to fellowship, breaking of bread,

  687. etcetera. But that's probably when they

  688. came together. Acts chapter 4, if you make

    Acts 4 chapter mention

  689. actually chapter 4 also, I think it's from about verse 43 to 47,

  690. but also One Corinthians 11 verses 17 to 21, Paul speaks

  691. about when you come together, your meetings do more harm than

  692. good. Why?

  693. Because we don't discern one another, why we should,

  694. etcetera. But I have all these things I'd

  695. love to have spoken about. Look again at One Corinthians

  696. chapter 14, verses 28, verse 20 add to 39.

  697. I'm going to skip a whole lot of this because I can see I'm just

  698. running out of time here. So why do we come to church #1

  699. all of this is found in what I've just said.

  700. That kind of foundation upon we come to encounter Christ.

  701. Now I'm going to ask you none of these.

  702. This is to encourage you, but also to change.

  703. Have I save a mind shift? How many of you sat up this

  704. morning, got up and thought, I've got to get things done

  705. because I want to go to the meeting.

  706. I'm going to encounter Christ this morning.

  707. I know I thank you for putting up your hands, but I'm just

  708. asking you to answer these things in your, in your heart.

  709. So few of God's people say one of the reasons I'm going to meet

  710. him this morning is I'm going to encounter Christ.

  711. That's why I attend meetings. I'm going to encounter him.

  712. When I encounter Christ, my whole life is changed to

  713. encounter Christ, let's listen carefully to me is to encounter

  714. the King ruling and reigning in his Kingdom.

  715. So the church needs to be a Kingdom hearted people and the

  716. more that that church, if our church and so many of us have

  717. been around for so long in Christ that this is so much more

  718. easy for us at this stage than even these larger churches that

  719. have got lots and lots of exciting new believers, which we

  720. want. But if we could just get back to

  721. this thing. We're part of the Kingdom.

  722. We have for the king, not for ourselves.

  723. We have for Jesus, we have that we can encounter him.

  724. We're going to be equipped and enabled, envisioned.

  725. We're going to be embraced by the king of all kings.

  726. We want our church to be a Kingdom church.

  727. I remember when Darren said to me right at the beginning of

  728. that Kingdom life, when I started, we had to change the

  729. name from something else. It was he said, we're going to

  730. call the Kingdom off. I said it's a hard name to live

  731. up to think about it, but that's what it is.

  732. We should be Kingdom hearted people.

  733. Life here should be Kingdom life in every church everywhere.

  734. So do we come with that mindset? That's why God wants this little

  735. white church together on Sunday. That's what I'm going to this

  736. morning, to encounter Christ, to see the King and his Kingdom.

  737. That's the first thing. There's so much I'd like to say

  738. about that. The second thing, how are we

  739. doing today? Time was we finish at 11, don't

  740. we? No, go on, keep going.

  741. No, I won't keep. I'll just maybe I'll finish on

  742. this thing. We come to worship God now,

  743. worship theologically. The theologians try to break up

  744. praise and worship. Praise really has more to do

  745. with his acts, his actions, his deeds.

  746. The things that God does. Worship has more to do with his

  747. attributes. He's who he is, not what he does

  748. so much as who he is, what he is, all those wonderful

  749. attributes. And when I get up in the

  750. morning, before I get up in the morning, I thank him.

  751. I thank him that he's the King of kings, he's the Lord of

  752. Lords, he's the Prince of Peace, he's the lion of the tribe of

  753. Judah. He is Emmanuel, God with us.

  754. He's the alpha, he's the Omega, the beginning and the end.

  755. He's the 1st and the last. And so I go through this loop

  756. and Jesus Godfather, you are Jehovah Jireh, the Lord who

  757. provides, and you provide all my needs through Christ.

  758. You see, I linked the Kingdom, all my needs according to your

  759. riches and glory through Christ Jesus Jehovah, Jehovah the Lord,

  760. my banner and your banner over me is love.

  761. And you so love me and you so love the whole church that you

  762. gave us Jesus Christ, the Son, that whoever believes in him who

  763. will not perish but have everlasting life.

  764. Jelova Shalom, the Lord, our peace and Jesus, you are the

  765. Prince of peace. You made peaceful.

  766. You see, I hope you're getting what I'm trying to say here.

  767. We to worship God for his worthiness.

  768. That word worship is actually a shortened version of the word

  769. worth. Ship what he's worth.

  770. How much is God worth? Before I get out of bed in the

  771. morning, I want God to know I believe you are worth

  772. everything. You worth more than I can give

  773. you. All the praise that I could give

  774. you all day long still would not match your worthiness.

  775. But I praise you. I pray to look.

  776. I just thank God for saving me. I thank God for that little

  777. Presbyterian Church back in Boxburg in South Africa, the

  778. night I went there with the wrong motives to impress Anne's

  779. parents. And God saved my life, changed

  780. me, and he called me and he equipped me and he commissioned

  781. me and he said start this thing that was NCMI around them.

  782. I thank God, God's listening every single day of my life.

  783. I think I've done that for now, 50 something years.

  784. Every day I thank God for you people that we have a little

  785. church so we can go to worship him, meet with God's people.

  786. These are things that you and I need to be thanking God for

  787. before we get out of bed. But how much more when we

  788. actually together, the things we can thank Him for.

  789. When we're singing our songs, are we praising God for his

  790. worthiness or we're singing songs?

  791. If you get the chance to be a musician or you playing that

  792. musical instrument as worship to God, or you're trying to be a

  793. good musician, you know, there's a church back in that relates to

  794. us still in America, that when we first went to America and we

  795. got to know these people, when they first started their church,

  796. we'd been there for a few years before they planted this church.

  797. They used to employ professional musicians, unsaved, to lead in

  798. worship, and I try to say that now they're leading in the

  799. music, there's no worship, and that they don't worship God.

  800. We need to be worshippers, folk. And I'm hoping that I'll get a

  801. chance to carry on with this because I've got about another.

  802. I think about nearly 20 other reasons.

  803. I think it's about 20. I don't want to exaggerate.

  804. May even be more, but I know I can't get through it.

  805. So let's go home today. Can I just ask you in Jesus

  806. name, I implore you, please come next Sunday to the Sunday church

  807. meeting. Not to Sunday church to the

  808. church meeting with some of God's purpose for our meeting

  809. ringing in your heart. And we may do it badly and we

  810. might fell up, you know, like I would want to touch pray.

  811. Part of the reason we come is to pray and say we might pray

  812. badly. But let's even if we don't pray

  813. out aloud, we pray. Don't just leave it to the guy

  814. standing in the front. Pray when the preachers getting

  815. into a little bit of strife in himself or herself battling,

  816. trying to cross, get a hold of how to communicate.

  817. Pray for them, but look at them. They don't know what they're

  818. saying. They've forgotten.

  819. As you get older, you forget more things.

  820. I used to be able to stand up and just quote screams of

  821. scripture. Now I can, I can still quote

  822. dreams of it, but not quite as much.

  823. And and I forget where those verses are in the Bible now 82

  824. years old. You just get older.

  825. You forget it when you see that, pray, Lord help them through

  826. that. If you come in and you send

  827. someone's battling, pray for them.

  828. If they discourage, pray for them, etcetera.

  829. Stand with me, please. I'm just taking too long.

  830. You don't have to stand. I mean, just invitation.

  831. If you sit too long, just gets a little bit hard on parts of the

  832. body. Father, I lift my heart up to

  833. you with your people. We come before the throne of

  834. grace. Thank you that it is a throne of

  835. grace, undeserved, unmerited, unearned, something we can never

  836. pay for. The throne where you sit

  837. enthroned. You have that sceptre in your

  838. hand, that sceptre of righteousness, and to each and

  839. everyone of us today, you're extending it, putting it out

  840. like the king did in the Old Testament, saying you're

  841. accepted. That's throne of grace.

  842. We come and worship you. We acknowledge that you and you

  843. alone are worthy. You're worthy of more than we

  844. can ever give you, Lord, all the praise, all the worship, all the

  845. singing, all our efforts and energies, things that we feel

  846. are exhausting us. You're worth more than that.

  847. Your deeds are absolutely amazing to us that you could

  848. just say let there be. And all of this that we see

  849. around us came into being and you could keep speaking and

  850. upholding the whole entire universe, every star, every

  851. planet, everything that's going on around us, all these things

  852. men have launched into the the universe.

  853. They all upheld by the word of your power.

  854. You are all powerful, all knowing, all wise.

  855. There's nothing you can't do. There's nothing you don't know.

  856. You'll never, ever, ever find a thing that you can't do.

  857. Our problems are small when we bring them to you, and so is a

  858. church. We come before you, asking you.

  859. Break into our midst every time we meet.

  860. Break in and show yourself to be the King of all kings, the Lord

  861. of all Lords. Lord God Almighty, you are the

  862. King of the nations. Nations will bow before you one

  863. day. Every knee is going to one day

  864. bow before Christ, and every tongue is going to confess him

  865. as Lord. And that's all going to be to

  866. the glory of God our Father. We bless you.

  867. I ask your blessing upon these people, God, they, your people,

  868. they the redeemed, they the ones that you saw and you felt we

  869. were worth saving. You shed the blood of your son

  870. Jesus on our behalf and that blood keeps us clean.

  871. That gun blood protects us. We just thank you Lord, it keeps

  872. heaven open and access to you all through Christ.

  873. So your blessing upon our families, those that are still

  874. in Australia and South Africa, bring them back home safely.

  875. Others that are travelling from South Africa back to their homes

  876. around the world keep them safe at every level.

  877. So we ask all these things with Thanksgiving and praise,

  878. acknowledging that you and you alone are worthy.

  879. Amen. Amen.

  880. Amen. Thank you, Dudley.

  881. It's amazing. Let's come with faith

  882. expectation to every meeting. Thank you for joining us for

  883. today's message. For more information about The
