07 December 2025: The Importance of the Blood of Jesus... Part 1

Welcome to the podcast of the White Church in Adelaide, South

Australia. I'm going to share with you from

the book of Hebrews primarily, but not exclusively on one of

the most important subjects that I think that there is in the

Word of God. While it's Christmas now, we're

going to be celebrating Christmas, there would be, no,

there wouldn't be a Christmas if there wasn't a purpose in the

birth of Jesus. And one of the purposes, one of

the major purposes of Christmas, the birth of Christ, is Calvary.

And Calvary carries with it one of the most important subjects

that I think is neglected from the pulpit.

Not too many people understand the value of it and that is the

blood of Jesus. I want to speak a little bit

about the blood of Jesus. It was always a God's purpose.

We talk a lot about Christmas and birth of Jesus.

We talk about his life, talk a lot about the resurrection from

time to time, different circles, but very few actually ever

preach on the value and the power and the benefits of the

blood of Jesus which made all of this possible.

Without the blood being shed, Calvary there would not have

been a need for the resurrection and the resurrection was God's

seal of approval saying the life of Jesus and his death, The shed

blood is accepted in heaven. What he accomplished on the

cross when he poured out his life, his and the life is in the

blood. So when he poured out his blood,

the Father said I accept this when he raised him from the

dead, not only by the words he had spoken, by the demonstration

of the resurrection power of Jesus Christ, which Paul says

it's no longer I that live. And that's what's got to be true

for all of us. Till the blood has done its work

in our hearts and lives, we will never walk in resurrection

power. We can try to, but until we

understand the value, the benefits, and the power of the

blood of Jesus, resurrection power will never be what God

wants it to be in our lives. So I was reading my Bible this

morning and we just sang that song Worthy, worthy, worthy

Revelation 5 in my my devotions this morning and how they

actually talk about the angels, though everyone saying of the

lamb that was slain, his blood, blood poured out.

It's all in there in Revelation 5, which I wanted to read to

you, but I think it's going to just take too much of time.

But maybe I can just ask you turn to the book of Hebrews in

the 13th chapter. And I don't know if we can get

that up on our on the screen. And I've asked that we read it

in the new international Revelation 13, Revelation 10.

I think it was what I've said. I did send a message with all

the scriptures. And have you got that?

Yep. Hebrews 13, verse 12.

Hebrews 13:12

Therefore, Jesus also suffered and died outside the city's

gates in order that he might purify and consecrate the people

through the shedding of his own blood and set them apart as holy

for God. Just in that statement, there

are some serious things. Not only that He suffered and

died, not only was he rejected, He went outside of the city

gates, but that he might purify. And we'll talk about that as one

of the benefits that he might consecrate or set apart, as it

says later on, you know, through the shedding of His blood, set

them apart as holy. All of those things are part of

what the blood of Jesus does for us.

Now, can we turn to Hebrews chapter 10?

Click quickly, please. And we're going to read from

verse 19 through to the 25th chapter, Hebrews chapter 1019 to

25. Therefore, brethren, since we

have freedom, full freedom and confidence to enter the holiest

of holies by the power and virtue in the blood, another

thing that's going to be come out.

We have access to the Father through the blood, but we don't

any. We have freedom, we have

confidence, boldness, all these things come out all related to

the scriptures around the blood of Jesus that people just skim

over instead of thinking that through by the power and virtue

of the blood of Jesus. The blood of Jesus is most one

of the most amazing subjects in the word of God.

I want to encourage you make a note of the I'm going to share

share 13 quick things with you, which really equates to 22

things. So I'll have to just say boom,

boom, boom, boom. Couple of remarks here and

there. Time just doesn't allow us to go

into the subject like I would like to, but I remember when I

came to we first came to Christ in the 1960s.

We so often sing and I still sing it in my devotional time

very often. My hope is built on nothing less

than Jesus blood and his righteousness.

I dare not trust and the sweetest frame that holy lean on

Jesus name on Christ, the solid rock I stand all other ground is

sinking sand never hear that song sung anywhere anymore.

Some way they've the church has devalued the blood of Jesus in

the early 60s it around the world.

They began to attack the church saying we preach the butcher's

gospel, the blood somehow we don't want to talk about blood

anymore. We're just breeding soft Sissy

baby Christians. I just want that to sink in.

Around the world. We're just feeding people with

stuff that keeps them young and sissies.

They don't gross muscle and strength spiritually.

Another one of those songs we used to sing is what can wash

away my sins? Nothing but the blood of Jesus.

What can make me whole again? Nothing but the blood of Jesus.

Oh, precious is that flow that makes me white as snow.

No other fountain are nothing but the blood of Jesus.

Another one of the songs was there's a fountain filled with

blood drawn from Emmanuel's way. All of these songs we used to

sing almost every Sunday about the blood.

I don't hear any of these songs anymore anywhere around the

world. Another one at the cross.

At the cross where I first saw the light and the burden of my

heart was rolled away. It was there by faith.

I received my sight. And that where we're at the

cross. So, so few people preach on the

blood. And I'm hoping that people will

change, come back to that place before Christ comes back, where

the blood is seen as valuable, precious, the virtue of it, the

benefits of it, the power of the blood.

And the blood opens up all sorts of stuff for us.

Unbelievably, without the shattering of blood, the next

few things I say here would not be able to have happened.

First of all, now can I just say this Romans chapter 10, verse 9,

Romans 10:9

is it Verse 9 and 10 tells us that we've got to believe in our

hearts and then we've got to confess with our mouths what?

We've got to confess that Christ is Lord, that He died for our

sins. That is true for every single

promise in the Word of God. We've got to believe it here and

we've got to confess it here. Now in Exodus chapter 12 with

Exodus 12 · chapter mention

the Passover, the celebration of the Passover lamb, they had to

take the blood, as gory as that sounds to us today.

They had to kill the animal, take the blood and put it on

their doorposts. You see, in other words, the

blood was shed, the animal was slain, the lamb had died.

Jesus has died. So all of the benefits of that

were available, but they did not apply it.

The first born and their family died.

And it's the same for us. If we we've got a that's, that's

faith. We've got to confess with our

mouths and we've got to believe in our heart.

We have to confess the truth about the blood of Jesus.

And I'm going to stop and ask you not to be nasty, just to

wake you up, give you an alert call.

How often do you thank Jesus for the blood, not just for the he

lived a holy life and he showed us how what God's like and he's

done certain things for us, but actually Jesus that you shed

your blood. And how often do we link that

with the promises of God that God gives us the access that God

gives us. Let it let your prayer life be

changed as from today related to the blood of Jesus.

Now #1 the blood of Jesus provides us with access to the

very throne room of God. Just imagine that this is where

God Almighty, the God who said let there be, and everything we

see around began to be formed just by creative word.

That God, that awesome God sits on the throne.

And because of the blood, you and I can go right to that very

throne room, that very throne room with all that power, all

that authority, all that love, all that God is you and I can go

there and we can come secondly with confidence.

So it doesn't only open up, give us access, it gives us

confidence to come, as with boldness, we don't have to come

cringingly. This is the wonderful thing to

me. There's so many scriptures I'm

going to leave out because of time that I've got here in my

notes and I gave them to you guys, but we can't, we're not

going to be able to cover them more.

But you just think of this, you can go to that throne room as

often as you like. You can go to that throne room

when you get home and get it. Just let's say it's 12:00 and

you go to the throne room. You can, God says come.

You may feel unworthy. The devil says you're unworthy,

but God still says come. And he doesn't say come

beggingly, although we are beggars.

He doesn't come, say come cringingly.

Although when we think of ourselves and we think of God,

you would almost want to cringe. He is so big, so awesome, so

holy, so mighty, so majestic. But he's saying, no matter.

This is 12:00. You've come and two minutes

later you're no longer there. You drink something else and you

mess up. He says come again, and five

past 12 come again. And that's happening around the

world for millions of believers, all coming to the one God.

Now, no human being can do that. We can't even listen when I when

if Leon's talking to me and someone else says something in

the background, I can't hear. I know that they're talking.

I don't know what they're saying.

God can hear millions every, everywhere across the nation's,

the whole earth, all at the same time.

I mean, let that sink in. All because of the blood of

Jesus. We all have access and we all

have confidence. We can come with boldness as

often as we are, as unworthy as we are.

We can come anytime as often as we like.

We'll never be worthy. So I want to just say to you,

please, because of the blood, it's not your worthiness.

Don't think because you prayed enough or you did, you came, had

a good day today. Now you maybe can come have

access to God and he may hear you because of that.

It's got nothing to do with it. How do we get this to come back

on? All right there it comes on

again. So the blood of Jesus, it's

never it's, it's easier. He sits in Hebrews 10/19 and

brothers and sisters, sisters, since we have confidence to

enter the holiest of holy, the most holy place by the blood of

Jesus. And Ephesians 213 tells us that

you who were once far away have been brought now or near by the

blood of Jesus. So don't me ever be misled into

thinking that when you you do the right things, you do the

good things, then you can have access.

When you do the wrong things, you don't have access.

You have access no matter what. It's because not only because of

works, but because of the blood. Let that sink into our hearts

today. You can go there as often as you

like, no matter how bad the sin, no matter what the need, as

often as you like. You could even stay there all

day with boldness. It's always only exclusively

because of the blood. I'm going to move to the third

thing. The blood also redeems us.

It redeems us from three things redeems us from how can I put

this, the slave market of sin, the slave market of sin.

In other words, I don't have to believe that because other

Christians, even pastors say we're all sin and word thought

indeed every day. I don't have to believe that I

can believe what God says that he redeems us from the slave

market of sin. We're no longer slaves of sin.

Now if you feel you are, look to Jesus and confess the blood,

because not only does the blood of Jesus redeem us from the

slave market of sin, it's redeemed us even from the curse

of the law, even having to keep the law, because Christ did it

for us. It redeems us from the slave

market of sin, from the law, and that it redeems us from an

eternal eternity without God, the wrath of God in hell, It

redeems us. That's what God's done through

the blood. Without the blood, you would

still be a no matter what you believed.

Without the blood, you would still be a slave to sin.

You would still be going to hell and you'd still be struggling to

keep the law if you wanted to be a good person.

Hebrews 912. Just remember that now

redemption, which is eternal, covers a whole number of things

that I want to quickly share with you.

That word redemption, it covers justification.

And justification simply means that God sees you and God can

remain just even though you've sinned because he's executed his

judgement through Christ. Now this is not an accurate

thing to say here, but a lot of people would say justification

is just as if I'd never sinned. Because when I sinned, God sees

me in Christ and he justifies me.

He can remain a just God because of the blood and yet He can free

me and and redeem me and set me at liberty because of the blood.

And you could look at Romans 323 to 25 Galatians 216, etcetera.

So all this is because of the pen.

The the penalty of our sin has been taken by Jesus, but at the

redemption also covers not only justification, but it covers

righteousness. All of these words are in the

Scriptures and if we had time I would have read them the earlier

ones to you that had some of these scriptures in them.

But righteousness is just standing right standing in God,

right standing in God righteousness.

In other words, God pronounces us legally righteous.

That's imputed righteousness. A lot of people will talk about

imputed righteousness, but very few say talk about imparted

righteousness. Not only does Jesus impute for

the Father, impute righteousness to each one of us because of

Jesus, but slowly over the period of time through the next

one of the other things that he that that the blood does through

the period, the process of sanctification, God is able to

set us free. And well, let me just say that

justification and righteousness are almost synonymous words.

You could look up two Corinthians 521 for yourself.

Thirdly, in this whole thing of redemption, I'm speedy trying to

speed this up, this forgiveness, Jesus said, and their sins will

I forgive. Matthew 2628.

I'd like to have read it. Put down your notes and Hebrews

922, Colossians 140. Fourteen.

Jesus forgives sin and all of that's part of redemption.

Now here's the beautiful thing. Because of the blood of Jesus,

that redemption is eternal. And that redemption means that

God chooses to forget. Now the devil doesn't.

So if you sinned, the devil will throw that sin back in your

face. But if you've confessed it to

God and you went and said, God, I'm sorry about that thing that

I've just remembered. Now it's like God has to say

what's sin now, not because God can't remember.

God chooses not to remember. So how many of us live in

condemnation falsely constantly because of the devil?

The devil says you did that, remember, you did that.

He reminds you of things and God says, no.

It's as if I never, you never sinned.

I've forgotten that. Why come and bring it up again?

Why remind me God of that? And that's in Jeremiah 3134

number chapter chapter 31 verse 34.

These sins will I remember no more.

Next thing under redemption is that God cleanses us from all

sin. If we confess our sins, He's

faithful and just to forgive us our sins and what else?

To cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

If we walk in the light, John 114 I think is as He's in the

light, we have fellowship with one another.

And what happens? The blood of Jesus Christ keeps

on cleaning, keeping us clean. Now let me just you know what a

windscreen wipe is like. When I get up in the morning

because of all the trees around, my windscreen is dirty.

When I put it on, it cleans and it just keeps on cleaning no

matter what comes. That's what the blood does if we

just walk in the light. It's all by the blood of Jesus.

Here's another beautiful thing about not only does it cleanse

us from all unrighteousness, but the fifth little thing about

redemption is and listen to this one carefully.

He cleanses even our consciences from dead works some

translations and he I've gone a blank purges our consciences

from dead works. Now what are dead works?

Dead works are everything you've done in the energy of the flesh,

every action, every attitude, everything.

Those of us who sit in this meeting or stand in this meeting

and sing songs and we're not thinking about it.

We're not trusting God. We're not we're just mouthing

the words. Those are dead works.

Do you know that preachers preaching the word of God under

in the in the flesh, those are dead works preaching the word of

God. You can read your Bible every

morning and that can be a dead work.

Now if you're guilty of any of those things, God's Word says

this, I'll cleanse your conscience from those dead

works. What for?

To serve the living God. That's a promise that you should

claim for God from God. Hebrews 914 all dead works

number six. I'm looking at that clock and

saying I'm beaten already. The blood makes us holy.

That's why I said when we read earlier on that that amplified

version, it doesn't only forgive and cleanse it, it doesn't only

just set us apart, which most believers believe now God wants

to set us apart. It actually purifies us.

Sanctification carries with it the whole concept of

purification. And Peter, when Peter was called

before the the council in Jerusalem and he was talking

about Cornelius's conversion, he said, and God made the Holy

Spirit with no difference between them and us purifying

their hearts by faith. So I want you to know that the

blood actually can purify your heart, give you pure motives,

pure intentions, pure desires, pure goals, pure aims, pure

ambitions. Moving on.

I'm just looking at all that. I'm skipping over here, that Are

you feeling rushed? Are you picking it up from me?

Because I am. I'm feeling rushed, feeling like

everything's fighting me at every level.

Yeah, but the blood also in this whole thing of redemption brings

about reconciliation. That's a beautiful word.

Colossians, chapter one, verse 20.

I don't know if we can put that up there quickly.

Reconciliation really means bringing two things together,

and God reconciles us first of all to himself and through Him,

to reconcile him to himself, all things, whether things on earth

or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood shed on

the cross. The blood brings about

reconciliation and I'm reconciled to God through the

blood, not through my good works, not even through how I

exercise my faith. Different people come to Christ

in different ways. And so often the devil says,

well, you didn't have the experience that that person had.

Yours is just so you were born in the church and you grew up in

the church and you've lived a pretty good life.

I know that Anne and I, when I, when I came from this background

of, of total corruption and just sick sin and Anne grew up in a

Christian home and when I would stand up and say I was an

alcoholic and I was on, I did this and I did that and I did

that. And, and then Anne comes and

says, and I, I remember this. I the two of us used to preach

together in in Zimbabwe. I was up in Zimbabwe for one

year preaching. And this guy Phillip and myself

were the two kind of Co workers. We worked, we'd work across the

whole of Zimbabwe, which was Rhodesia in those days.

And he grew up in a Christian home.

So we'd both give our testimonies and he'd feel like,

he told me, I feel like a fraud. And I haven't done all these

things. I've never, I've never touched

alcohol. I've never touched tobacco.

And you were an alcoholic and you even smoked marijuana and

did all these other kind of things.

I feel like I inferior. It's got nothing to do with

that. It's the blood.

It's not what you come out of what you and you know, you, you

think about how many people want to hear a Christian testimony

about somebody who lived a good life, Very few.

So they bring in the people that live the worst lives.

I've killed 65,000 people and I've murdered this and I, you

know, the more you can make it sound worse, the more you in

demand and we just fall in for the trap.

I don't think there's a greater privilege than to be brought up

in a Christian family to be able to honestly say I haven't done

those things. I yes, I'm a Sinner, but I

haven't done any of those things.

I just think that's the grace of God.

I wish I could honestly wish I could say I'd never done some of

the things that I've got to sometimes just acknowledge I

have done anyway, it's all through the blood.

I'm just taking 2. So first of all, reconciliation

between God and ourselves, but Goddess also through the blood,

listen carefully to me. He's brought about a

reconciliation between any two people or group of people

anywhere on earth. The Jews and the Gentiles were

so far apart, and he broke down that middle wall of partition,

brought them together. He can bring a husband and wife

who are having problems in their marriage together because of the

blood. If you think I'm going to try

it, I'm going to do better. I'm going to reform.

I'm going to and all these pledges and you don't look to

the blood. You're as good as beaten.

The blood is what reconciles us to each other.

There's not a person anywhere on earth that I need to be

reconciled to from my part because I've seen and looked to

the blood. But there are people who have

some things against me because they won't look to the blood.

The sin is too big, the grievance is too high.

They're huge. Instead of just seeing the

blood, if they would just put their trust in the blood instead

of trying harder, I'm going to see them again.

I'm going to love them. It's the blood.

The blood is what gives the you see, the blood opens up

everything we need for God to be able to pour his life in and

through us through the blood. Nothing else.

Even when we're saying in the name of Jesus, we're referring

back to the blood as well. I'm hoping that this makes

sense. And then the blood brings

atonement too, another one of those things that's part of

redemption. Atonement.

Atonement means in a sense at one moment with God at atone at

one mint, we're to get we're drawn together.

That's through the shedding of his blood.

No more separation. Just think about this for a

little while. Nothing in the Bible, the Bible

says nothing can separate you. Nothing in all the world can

separate you from the love of God, which is in Jesus Christ

our Lord. Nothing.

Do you believe that? Seriously, Do you believe that

when you're going through a rough time?

Do you believe that when you filled up?

When you do, you believe that when you feel like all hope is

gone, that nothing in the whole world can separate us from the

love of God, which is in Jesus Christ.

So let's in Romans chapter 8 through Romans 835 to 3039, John

Romans 8 · chapter mention

10/20/28 to 30, Jesus promises us this.

No man can pluck us out of his hand.

That's an incredible thing. Talk about eternal security.

Eternal secure. No man can pluck us out of his

hand. X15 tells.

I mean one Peter 15 tells us we're kept how?

By the power of God. Every morning I thank God I'm

kept by your power. I pray that little prayer in

Judah also though, help me to keep myself in the love of God.

I'm in the love of God, but I can ignore it.

God help me to keep myself in the love of God, looking for the

mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ. Scripture tells us also He is

able to keep us from falling to present us faultless.

Just imagine that faultless before the presence of His glory

with exceeding joy to the only wise God, the old glory,

majesty, dominion and power, both now and forevermore.

And he's able to keep that which I've committed unto him daily.

I commit my family to him. Lord, I put them in your hands.

I claim that promise because of the blood.

You can keep that promise even though I felled up or they

felled up because of the blood, you can keep that promise and

keep them. I'm going to skip that one.

So those three things quickly, the the blood of Jesus provides

us with access to the Father confidence to approach the

holiest of holies and it provides us with redemption.

That's four out of I think the 13 I wanted to tell you, but I'm

going to quote it's already 11:00.

Father, we come before your throne now.

We thank you for the blood. When we think of this Christmas,

we think of that child born in a major.

We can let that sink into our hearts.

Lord, that he was willing. God himself, Jesus, who had

fellowship with you, fellowship with the Holy Spirit, enjoyed

the worship of heaven, the multitude singing their praises.

He was willing to come as Almighty God and be a baby, live

in the womb of a woman, Nestle at their breast.

Those things amaze us Father, but we never want to forget why

He came, that there was sin to be dealt with, that He knew.

Jesus, you knew that you were going to die on that cross.

You laid down your life, you bled, you died.

The blood made it all open for us to have access, and even that

thrills our hearts as we go into this rest of this day and into

the new year. Make us more aware of what the

blood is done for us to begin to apply it on a daily basis, just

like those Israelites did. Help us to just cover ourselves

with the blood so that with the when you come through or the

Angel of death or anyone else or anything else comes our way, we

will just stand with a shield of faith.

But exercise in the blood of Jesus.

Confess it. We believe in the power and the

authority of your precious blood, Jesus.

We stand upon it. In all of the tribulations,

trials, whatever we go through, the disappointments and failures

and even sin, we remember and hold up before you nothing but

the blood of Jesus. Thank you.

We have you as an advocate with the Father.

You are the atoning sacrifice for all of our sins.

When we come before you and say we're sorry we sinned, it's as

if you hold the blood before the Father and the Father has to say

forgiven. Oh thank you Lord, not our works

of righteousness, just blood, blood shed for us in Jesus name.

Holy Spirit, help us, teach us each day of our lives, teach us

how to pray, teach us how to use the blood as a weapon.

They overcame in by the blood of the Lamb and the word of their

testimony. Thank you Lord, in Jesus name,

Amen. Amen.
