Welcome to the podcast of the White Church in Adelaide, South
-
Australia. So I think a few weeks ago, just
-
before a time like we shared about the presence of God, that
-
God can do more in a moment of His presence than He could do
-
through any number of hours of preaching.
-
As much as we're going to hear from Dave this morning, these
-
moments with God, he can do so much more in our hearts and so
-
much more through us and, and he can say stuff and minister to us
-
way more than any man. He is the lover of our souls.
-
Hey, how cool is that? Father, we thank you for Dave as
-
he steps up to preach this morning.
-
We thank you for your word as we've sung it, we're going to
-
hear it spoken. It's the same word.
-
It's the same God speaking to us.
-
And so we open our hearts wide for the word this morning and we
-
pray that you would use Dave mightily in this place.
-
In Jesus name, Amen. Can I just, can you come to
-
share that word that you brought this morning?
-
So Peter support a word that he'd felt in the law this
-
morning. And I just asked him to share
-
that now because it's just, you'll see how relevant this is
-
to this morning. OK, so this morning I was going
-
through and just asking God what we need.
-
You know, what do you want to share this morning?
-
And he actually led me to Psalm 113 and it was similar, similar
-
to what I was preparing for music wise.
-
But it starts at verse 5 and it says who can compare with God,
-
our God, so majestically enthroned, surveying his
-
magnificent heavens and earth. He picks up the poor from out of
-
the dirt, rescues the forgotten who have been thrown out with
-
the trash, seats among them the honour guests and places the
-
honour of among the brightest and best.
-
He gives childless couples a family and gives them joy as the
-
parents of children. Hallelujah.
-
Amen. Thank you, Pete.
-
How wonderful is our God, the things that he does, the things
-
that he's doing. You know, I just, even just
-
before I start, I just want to remind us like we've sort of
-
spoken about this. The Holy Spirit is here.
-
How do we know that the Holy Spirit is here among us right
-
now? Because, because the, because
-
the word says, right. Even if you can't feel it, even
-
if you can't experience it in some way, if you, if you're
-
unaware, the word says that the Holy Spirit will come and
-
indwell and live inside us. And bunch obviously bunches of
-
other scriptures is talking about his presence and the
-
things that he's there doing. He's here today and we, we
-
honour him. We honour you, Lord Holy Spirit,
-
you are God and we give our attention to you knowing that
-
you are here, knowing that you are within us, knowing that you
-
are speaking, that you are leading, you are guiding, you
-
are teaching. You've got a lot to say this
-
morning and I pray that you would speak through me.
-
I pray that you would take over this vessel and use me for your
-
plan and for your purpose. I don't want to speak out of my
-
own authority. I don't want to speak out of my
-
own resources. Lord God, we want to hear from
-
you today and we pray that you would help us just to open
-
ourselves up wide to to catch and to hear and to be put in
-
motion for the plan and purpose that you have for our lives and
-
for this church. Lord in Jesus mighty name, Amen.
-
So we've had an amazing couple of weeks with Ty and Nicole with
-
us and the boys last week. And you know, it's, it's just
-
been I've really enjoyed that. I hope you guys enjoy that.
-
I've sown into this church, into our foundation and we're going
-
to spend some time. There's there's a lot to go
-
through, right. So in the coming weeks where
-
we're going to be unpacking some of these things that we're
-
feeling God's highlighting to us as as leaders here.
-
One of the things that Nicole mentioned when when she got up
-
on on the 1st Sunday was she talked about us as a lampstand
-
and God had planted A lampstand here and Time mentioned a
-
lampstand many times. What does that mean?
-
What is a lampstand? Revelation 120 says that the
-
seven lampstands which you saw are the seven churches.
-
So there's 7 letters being written to seven churches and
-
Jesus identifies. There's a vision that John has
-
and there's lampstands and Jesus identifies the lampstands as
-
churches. So we understand from scripture
-
that a lampstand is a church and this church here is a lampstand
-
that Jesus has placed here, that this is a God thing.
-
God put a lampstand here for a reason.
-
Jesus himself says that he is the light of the world.
-
Jesus revealed the glory of the Father, the things of God.
-
He says that if you've seen me, you've seen the Father.
-
It's like when when you see Jesus, when you understand him,
-
when you embrace him, you, you know God.
-
You know God's ways. Jesus has always been revealing
-
the Father through Scripture and just, you know, reveals the
-
things of God, God's truth and justice and mercy and grace and
-
love, all of these things, the things that you see in Jesus,
-
the attributes of God revealed to us.
-
Matthew 5, Jesus says speaking to to us or to to people, he
-
says you are the light of the world.
-
So Jesus says I'm the light of the world.
-
Then in Matthew 5 he speaks to people and he says you're the
-
light of the world. Those that are saved will be the
-
light of the world. A city that is set on a hill
-
cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and put
-
it under a basket, but on a lamp stand, and it gives light to all
-
who are in the house. So let your light so shine
-
before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your
-
Father in heaven. Jesus calls us light and then he
-
says that you put the light on a lampstand.
-
Where like where lights guys, where does the lampstand go?
-
Sorry, where? Where is the light supposed to
-
sit on the lampstand? What is the lampstand?
-
The church. We are supposed to be a part of
-
the church. We are lights in, in the
-
lampstand, in the church to reveal God's glory.
-
The way church is a lampstand. God placed it here this time,
-
this place here. Like it's not an accident that
-
we're here. God has a very specific plan and
-
purpose for this church here. He put it here.
-
He could have put a church here. I mean, there was a church here
-
at one point. Justin was a part of that
-
church. But but you know, like it's in.
-
I'm just the point I'm making is it's in this time and this place
-
very specific. God doesn't make mistakes, does
-
he? So for Jesus and for God to put
-
a lampstand here is by purpose, by design, for a reason Ty spoke
-
a lot about, I love this. I hope we caught this.
-
I'm going to remind us of what he said.
-
He said not God's plan for my life.
-
My life for God's plan isn't that powerful because we're
-
running around like I've been in church long enough to know that
-
the biggest question that we want to ask is God, what's your
-
plan for my life? Like that's the most important
-
thing. We're we're talking to other
-
people. Hey, what do you think God's
-
plan is for my life? What's my plan for my life?
-
Give my prayer. What's God, What's your plan for
-
my life? We've got it upside down, right?
-
What my life for God's plan. We're, we're supposed to just go
-
all right, God, what's your plan?
-
How can I be involved, right? I think it's simpler that way
-
because now we don't have to try and work out what God's plan is
-
for us. We just go, right?
-
We know God's plan through Scripture.
-
Let's go and do that thing, right?
-
Get on with it. I think that's easier for me and
-
I'm a simple guy. Give it to me simple.
-
So again, if if TWC like the white church, if, if this church
-
is your family, I just wrote it in there because it's easy to
-
write down if it's your family and your fellowship.
-
We got to take part. We got to we got to have a
-
active role in the reason that this lampstand is here.
-
We can't just be sitting on the sidelines.
-
We can't just be doing our own thing.
-
We have to be a part of God's purpose.
-
Otherwise, it's not my life for his plan.
-
Otherwise it's just again, it just comes back to what's your
-
plan for my life in this room? God, what can I get out of
-
church, right? Can I just like remind us that
-
we got to understand what church is?
-
I think that this might be one of the, the great deceptions
-
that Satan's pulled over our eyes as believers, even we don't
-
really understand what church is, what the church is.
-
Churches, like it's not something that fits in with your
-
life. Like church isn't one of the,
-
the things that are, you know, like the list of the things that
-
you're involved in in your life. Like I've got my family, I've
-
got my work, I've got some hobbies, I've got church.
-
Do you see what we do like, like church is just an activity in a
-
list of long activities. Church is not an activity in our
-
lives. Our lives are found in the
-
church. And it's almost like people
-
don't like, people have a such a skewed understanding of church
-
now. It's almost like church is a
-
negative thing that if I, if we stand here now and I go, church
-
needs to be the most important thing in your life.
-
If you don't understand what church is, you just go, Oh my
-
gosh, like they just want everything from me.
-
Like you've got a twisted understanding of what I'm
-
saying, but but what I am saying, we're not.
-
And, and hear me out, church is the most important thing in your
-
life, not because it's a building, not because you're
-
supposed to go to church, not because you Jesus says you
-
should go to church because of what church is.
-
Church is Jesus. He's the body.
-
Sorry. He's the head of the church.
-
We are the body of the church. You are a part of the church if
-
you're saved, If you're a Christian, you are a part of the
-
church. If you're not a part of the
-
church, you're not a part of the body and you're not a part of
-
Jesus. Those that are saved are one
-
with Christ. They have been grafted into
-
Israel. They've become a part of his
-
body, a part of his family, haven't we?
-
So that means when you understand that church is the
-
body of Christ, you understand that outside of that body is all
-
the other stuff that you know you do with your life.
-
Your life is found in him in church.
-
And again, the the word church has been so messed up that it
-
even sounds wrong for me to say in my own ears, right?
-
Like we're devoted to the church because we're devoted to the
-
King and he's the head and we're the body.
-
And you can't separate the head from the body, as Ty mentioned.
-
Otherwise you've got a body less head.
-
Can't really do much with a head.
-
You might have some great ideas, but you know it's hard to get
-
anything done with no arms and legs, right?
-
But what's a body without a head?
-
A body without a head is a lifeless corpse.
-
We are a part of his body. He is the head.
-
We're the body. We need to adjust our thinking
-
of church. Church is not a bad word.
-
Church is the body of Christ. It's the ecclesia that called
-
out once. That's who we are.
-
So you don't go to church. You are the church.
-
You. We gather as the church.
-
We come together as the church. It's such a joy to be together
-
with the church, isn't it? I love being with the church.
-
Tony, do you love being with the church?
-
Loves it. It tells me all the time.
-
Loves being with the church. We love the church.
-
We love the church because it's the body of Christ.
-
We love the church because Christ is in the body.
-
We are seeking him first. So Ty Ty talked about the the
-
why and the what. He talked about the why and the
-
what and The Who and the hell. And so we're going to look at
-
the why and the what today and the why and the what is vision
-
for the church. Why is the church here?
-
So let's talk about the wire. I mean, Ty covered it.
-
We're going to talk about it again because we need to get in
-
here. Why did Jesus place a lampstand
-
here? Why is the church here?
-
To glorify God, to bring Jesus his inheritance.
-
People, the church is here as a vehicle to reach the lost to to
-
reach people for God, that people could find him again.
-
So Jesus is here on the earth in the body of the Christ in the
-
form of the church. Sorry to reach the lost, to
-
gather them together, to bring them to the Father.
-
No one comes through to the Father but through me.
-
That's why the church is here to gather people to God, to glorify
-
God, to manifest God, to represent God, to show the world
-
who God is. The church is here to take the
-
gospel out. That's what the reaching the
-
lost is not just here everywhere.
-
The whole world is this harvest field that we're called to reach
-
that the gospel would go out and gather people, gather Jesus
-
inheritance to himself. It's why the church is is the
-
why behind the church. It's why Jesus came, lived,
-
died, rose again. It was all about redemption.
-
It was all about restoring people to God the Father.
-
God had a plan to make people in his image and fellowship with
-
them forever and have eternal life and godliness and goodness
-
and hope and peace and wonderful, everything wonderful
-
you could think of God's intention for mankind.
-
God's intention for Christ and the gospel was to restore, was
-
to restore things that God's purpose and plan would be
-
fulfilled ultimately. And when God's plan and focus is
-
fulfilled forever will never end.
-
God had a plan. Some things happened.
-
God put some things in place to fix it.
-
You know, not, not out of response, out of knowing the
-
things that would happen. So ultimately God's plan from
-
the beginning and what will happen at the end and everything
-
in between, always God's plan. God has a plan and the gospel is
-
fulfilling the plan of God by bringing people to him.
-
So that's the, that's why Jesus, why the church, that's what
-
we're here for. And so the what then?
-
Because we're we're talking about a lampstand that is here,
-
a church that has been put here. The what is why is this?
-
I mean, it's kind of confusing. Is it what is this church here
-
for? OK, it's here because of the
-
why, which is Jesus, the what is what is this church?
-
What is the way church doing in this location in this time right
-
now? What is it that God's wanting to
-
do here? It's interesting because we, we
-
got together with Ty and Nicole over dinner and the basically
-
the first question that Ty had for us was like, what has God
-
called this church to do? Or what are the words that were
-
spoken over this church? What is it?
-
What's the what here guys? What's the what?
-
And it was a really good question, and it's brought some
-
clarity to us to ask that question.
-
And can I be honest, like, for us to be in this place now, you
-
know, coming up on two years, this has taken too long for us
-
to be able to really nail this down and go, this is what this
-
church is here for. So this is what we're talking
-
about today. What is this church doing here?
-
There's churches everywhere in this suburb.
-
There's churches, there's a church there like next door.
-
There's churches everywhere. So why here?
-
And what is it that God's calling us to do differently or
-
specifically compared to all of the other churches?
-
And it's not about comparison like you guys are about that.
-
We're about that. We don't care what the other
-
churches are about. We don't need to worry about the
-
what behind all of the other churches.
-
We need to worry about the what, what for us here.
-
So why here and amongst all these churches, God has given us
-
a heart for the lost. From the moment that, you know,
-
God had placed this desire in our heart to plant, there's just
-
such a, you know, a stirring for those that don't know him.
-
And this is one of the big things that is the heart for why
-
this church is here to reach the loss, the hurting people, the
-
heavy people, the lonely people, the broken people, the poor, the
-
purposeless, the rejected people, those that are cut off,
-
abandoned, mistreated, abused, those people.
-
Can I just say something just here as well, if that's you, if
-
you if you like you hear that though that list and you go with
-
they're talking about me. Welcome to the club guys like we
-
are. We are all broken in some way.
-
We all have hurts. We all need healings.
-
Thank God for Christ Jesus. This is the reason that we need
-
to save you guys. So for the ones that need to
-
come in here. Because God's called you in
-
broken and hurting and and needing family and needing
-
fellowship. It's not because you're any less
-
than any of the rest of us here. It's because God's joining us
-
together to be a family. So I just, I need to say that
-
because there's almost a sense like when, when we make such a
-
big fuss about, you know, the, the hurting and the broken
-
people and we're called to reach them, it's almost like there's a
-
separation from us and them in our minds.
-
No, there isn't. No, we're welcoming them into
-
the family of broken and hurting people.
-
Amen. And God's preparing us to be
-
able to take care of these people and knit them into
-
family. So one of the things that we
-
said when when we were planting was that we didn't want to grow
-
through just, you know, people coming from other churches.
-
And I still believe that to be true.
-
It can't just be that we need well equipped people to come.
-
So we're calling those people in as well.
-
We need the seasoned. We need those that are mature.
-
We need those people to come as well.
-
But we want to see growth through, you know, through fruit
-
and through reproduce reproduction.
-
We want to see people saved. If the church isn't seeing
-
people saved, it's not really growing.
-
If people are just coming from this church and being a part of
-
this church, and then all of a sudden 50 people from that
-
church and 100 people from that church.
-
And yeah, now my church has got 1000 and none of them were saved
-
because of the gospel. Is that church?
-
Is that a fruitful church? Is it getting on with the thing
-
that that God's calling us to do?
-
We want to see salvation. We want to see people coming
-
from having absolutely no reference point of who God is to
-
coming to us as a people and seeing him and receiving him.
-
And then those people we're called to raise up and send.
-
Those people were called to raise up and send.
-
This is a, this is a plan. This is the purpose for the
-
church. This is the what for this
-
church. It's not good enough for us to
-
just see a whole bunch of bunch of people saved and then send no
-
one. We need to be raising people up.
-
That's what discipleship is. It's raising people up into
-
maturity and then sending. We need to be a sending church.
-
I just want to read through some of the prophetic words that were
-
spoken over us as a church, just in light of this heart that God
-
has for us as a church. So Jeremiah 3313, I'm going to
-
read all of it, but it starts with this.
-
And this really spoke to me when I was reading this, you know,
-
over a year ago. It says, in the cities of the
-
mountains, in the city of the veil, in the cities of the
-
South. And I really felt like that was
-
God speaking to us for the here it says, the flocks pass again
-
under the hands of him who telleth them, Behold the days
-
come, saith the Lord, that I will perform a good thing which
-
I promised unto the House of Israel, unto the House of Judah
-
in those days. At that time I will cause the
-
branch of righteousness to grow up unto David and he shall
-
execute judgement and righteousness in the land in
-
those days shall due to be saved and Jerusalem shall dwell safely
-
and this is the name wherewith she shall be called the Lord our
-
righteousness. This is talking about like the
-
flocks coming back to the Lord and righteousness and salvation.
-
I mean this should be the call of every church right?
-
But this is the because if this is our what if this is what we
-
need to be focused on the the vision for this church, then
-
setting the, the The Who and the how needs to come out of this.
-
OK, then who's going to be involved in seeing this come to
-
pass and how that's strategy, right?
-
One Samuel 22. This has been on my heart a
-
whole lot in the planning process.
-
And since David therefore departed from there and escaped
-
to The Cave of a dullen, so when his brothers and all his
-
father's house heard it, they went down there to him.
-
And everyone who was in distress, everyone who was in
-
debt, everyone who was discontented, gathered to him
-
and he became captain over them. And there was about 400 men with
-
him. You know, we picture, there's a
-
picture here of David's family that my name is David, right?
-
We're talking about Jesus, OK? We're talking about the family
-
of God coming together. We're talking about those that
-
are in distress and in debt, you know, those that are hurting and
-
owing and you know, discontented.
-
These could be people that do you know how many people are
-
discontented with church that are believers that are at home
-
fellowshipping on their own Somehow many those people, we've
-
got to call those people in. They need to come in to the body
-
of Christ. Again, we need to call those
-
people home, right? Many of them in this area, I can
-
tell you they're everywhere, everywhere.
-
OK, so this is some of these people.
-
You don't have to be an unbeliever to fit into these
-
categories to be discontented. You could be a believer.
-
It's, it's shocking what Satan's been able to do to the church,
-
you know, to confuse us and, and just misguide us.
-
It's a bit of a mess, right? But if we just get on with the
-
plan and the purpose of God, we're just going to have to
-
trust God to work some of these things through and be
-
successful. Amen.
-
As I43, fear not, for I am with thee.
-
I'll bring thy seed from the east and gather them from the
-
West. I will say to the north give
-
them up, and to the South keep not back.
-
Bring my sons from afar, my daughters from the ends of the
-
earth. God's wanting to bring them to
-
himself. Now think about this, right?
-
When I say, you know, God's wanting to bring the sons and
-
daughters, the lost, the broken, when I say he wants to bring
-
them to the church, what do you think of?
-
We think of a bunch of people walking through this door here
-
into our Sunday meeting. That's what we think.
-
That's not just what this is saying.
-
Our lives out there are where we live as the church.
-
God's going to put people in your path and around you that
-
fit these categories that we're called to reach.
-
We got to reach them. We got to trust that God's
-
called this church to reach those people and trust that the
-
power of the Holy Spirit will help us to do that.
-
We just be obedient. We just go.
-
That's, that is a hurting, broken person there.
-
That's what this church is called to, to reach.
-
That's the sort of people that we're called to reach.
-
Who's going to do that? You the lamp, right?
-
The light of the world is going to reach that person and we're
-
going to we're going to see God set that person on the lampstand
-
in the church. When I got saved, I wasn't a
-
part of I was sort of saved already when when God got a hold
-
of my heart again after I'd just ignored him for 20 years, you
-
know, like it was like all of a sudden, you know where, where I
-
wanted to be in the lampstand. Why is that?
-
Because it's God's plan and purpose, right?
-
As soon as you're as soon as my life becomes for his will, he
-
just takes you where you need to be.
-
So I said, Lord, I'll do anything, I'll follow you
-
anywhere. Go good.
-
You're going to church. You've got to go be a part of
-
the church. All right, right.
-
Isn't that cool? God puts you where you need to
-
be, not your will for my life, my life for your will.
-
All right, so I'm going to read a couple more.
-
There was Joshua 119 this scripture or a couple of
-
different because it says this a lot in Joshua has been said so
-
many times to us. It's been read from the front
-
here Joshua 19 have have I not commanded you be strong, be
-
strong, be of good courage, be not afraid, neither be thou
-
dismayed. Listen to this for the Lord thy
-
God is with you wherever you go. He's with you.
-
When you see broken people, when you know they need Christ, fear
-
not, I am with thee. Be bold, be courageous.
-
Our confidence is in Him, not in our ability to speak well.
-
I'm not a great speaker, guys. I don't know if you've noticed,
-
but my confidence is in Him. It's the Spirit of God, guys.
-
It's not through you and me. It's the light of the world,
-
Jesus Christ in you to them, Amen.
-
We can do this. We just got to rely on him.
-
See the power of the Holy Spirit do its thing.
-
Do his thing. Excuse me, Isaiah 54 many
-
sources. Again, this is another scripture
-
that's been mentioned over and over again.
-
Sing, O Baron, now that this this not bare, break forth into
-
singing and cry aloud. Thou that this not.
-
What version have I put in here? Thou that this not travail with
-
child for more of the children of the desolate.
-
Maybe I'll just read it off of you.
-
I'm going to start again. Sorry guys.
-
Sing, O Baron, you who have not born, break forth into singing
-
and cry aloud. You who have not laboured with
-
child for more of the children of the desolate than the
-
children of the married woman, says the Lord.
-
Enlarge the place of your tent and let them stretch out the
-
curtains of your dwellings. Do not spare.
-
Lengthen your cords and strengthen your stakes for you.
-
You shall expand to the right and to the left, and your
-
descendants will inherit the nations and make the desolate
-
cities inhabited. Isn't that a wonderful promise?
-
My goodness, there's so much in that talks about children that a
-
desolate being many like more than the children that are.
-
Is that true for our world? Is there more people out there
-
that aren't a part of the plan and the purpose of God that are
-
in his body? I think there is, but there's a
-
promise here that says that like, oh, make the desolate
-
cities inhabited. Do we live in a city?
-
Should we be going after this promise for our city that the
-
city of churches would be greater inhabited by the people
-
of God and those that aren't? I think we should.
-
I think we should stand on faith in that and just go.
-
Lord, let it be so. Amen.
-
And making space for many again, not just in this room, guys.
-
Making space for the many means making space for them in your
-
life, freeing yourself up that, you know, I don't have time for
-
these people. We got to make time, you know,
-
like we're we're going to you're going to open up your homes.
-
We have homes, invite them into your homes.
-
We've spoken about this many times.
-
This is one of the strategies that God's given us for reaching
-
the law. What an opportunity guys to like
-
bring people into your home and then get them surrounded with,
-
with the church, get them introduced to the body of
-
Christ, the strategies of of our Father to reach the loss.
-
You know, and we love just to sit around and eat and have
-
fellowship. It's one of the things that we
-
love more than anything. And so God's given us this
-
amazing tool to reach. And so I say all of that to say
-
that like the gathering of the people isn't just on the Sunday
-
meeting. We gather them together whenever
-
we meet. We've seen guys, as Justin
-
mentioned, we've seen guys gathered together as we connect
-
as men, unsaved guys, and we open up the Bible and we sit
-
there and teach and they sit there and listen, and they come
-
back and they ask questions, right?
-
It's so good. It's so amazing what God is
-
doing. All right, I'm going to do a
-
couple more. Isaiah 50, This is just Isaiah
-
50 verse 4. The Lord has given me the tongue
-
of the learned that I should know how to speak a word in
-
season to him who is weary. Now Dudley spoke that over us
-
when we were set in here. Let me read it again because
-
this is not just for me. This is not just for Hillary.
-
This is for us as a church, right?
-
Listen to this. The Word of God is for us, for
-
the body. The Lord has given me the tongue
-
of the learned that I should know how to speak a word in
-
season to Him who is weary. Isn't that amazing?
-
That means that the tongue that is in your mouth is equipped to
-
speak a word that will encourage the weary.
-
Amen. The power of God in and through
-
His people. Eliza gave a word to us as she
-
was, as she was leaving, I think it was in one of the prayer
-
meetings, she said she spoke of an influx of people coming and
-
she said the Lord wants to give us a Moses anointing.
-
And I was thinking about that this week.
-
Dave Hagar prophesied over Hilary and I few years ago and
-
and he spoke about that cry of let my people go, let my people
-
go. God has put a cry in our hearts
-
to let the people go to free the people.
-
This is like the the Moses anointing is to free the people
-
that are in bondage. That's the the what behind why
-
we're here. God's going to back up the
-
purpose for while we're here, I hope we're catching a sense of
-
the vision. It's a simple thing and it's
-
almost too simple because it's like we're just talking about
-
the church. We're just talking about what
-
we're called to do. But but in the, in the strategy
-
from this, in the plans and the purposes, the things that we put
-
in place will be in line with this and we'll trust that God
-
will breathe on it. Amen.
-
We've been doing something of this and some of this.
-
And obviously you guys can think of some of the things that we're
-
involved in and stuff like that. There's reason for some of these
-
things, obviously. And next week we're going to
-
talk about, we're going to talk about The Who and the how.
-
And I'll, I'll give you the spoiler already.
-
You're The Who, where, The Who, not your who, The Who, where,
-
The Who. So we need to come back and talk
-
about all right now that we know that the reason that we're here
-
is for Christ. The reason that this church is
-
here in this time, in this place is for the broken and then lost
-
in this community, this city, and way beyond that.
-
Now what? How do I fit in to that plan and
-
to that purpose? How do I fit in to that vision?
-
And God has a way for every single one of us, regardless of
-
age, regardless of experience, regardless of maturity,
-
regardless of every anything. God has a way for us to give our
-
lives over to His plan and purpose and he will give us work
-
to do things, to do things, to be occupied with things that
-
will give us life when we're, you know, the, the greatest gift
-
that we have as believers is to give ourselves over
-
wholeheartedly to the Lord. Because when we're living in
-
God's plan and purpose, there's no such thing as a more
-
fulfilled life. There's guys in this room that
-
can vouch. I've spent, I've spent lifetimes
-
doing this. They know there was no other
-
place we would rather be, right? No other place we would rather
-
be but in God's will, no riches, no glory, no nothing that can
-
compare to the fulfilment of serving the Lord God
-
wholeheartedly. It's such an amazing thing.
-
So I'll leave it there for now, but I just, I'm going to say
-
this again, these words, not God's plan for my life, my life
-
for God's plan, Amen. It's good stuff.
-
All right, let's, if we could just raise to our feet, please.
-
We're just going to pray. We're just going to pray.
-
We're going to pray. Thank you, Lord.
-
Lord God, you are so amazing. Your plan and your and your
-
purpose is perfect. There is nothing that needs to
-
change. The only thing that needs to
-
change is US, Lord. The only thing that needs to
-
change is is our understanding the things that we put first.
-
All of those things. And Lord God, as we stand in
-
this place, we hope or or no we don't hope.
-
We are standing here full of faith, knowing that your plan
-
and your purpose for this church has is taking root in our
-
hearts. Lord, we thank you.
-
Lord, that as we get a clear vision of why we're here, that
-
the pieces will begin to fit together, that we would
-
understand what it is that I'm I'm called to do.
-
And that we can get on with it and we can run and we can see
-
fruitfulness. Lord, we stand here believing,
-
trusting faithfully for fruitfulness and multiplication
-
in the way Church in 2026. Lord, we call them in Lord from
-
the north and the South and the east and the West.
-
Bring them in not just into this meeting.
-
Lord, highlight those people to us in our lives.
-
Let us see clearly those that are are are ripe for the
-
harvest. Lord, your word says that the
-
harvest is ready, but the workers are few call.
-
So pray for the for the workers of the harvest.
-
Lord, we pray that You would make us workers in the harvest
-
this week. Today we pray that we would see
-
your mighty power in our midst, Lord, that signs and wonders
-
would follow the preaching of the gospel.
-
We pray that people would be healed, set free, delivered.
-
Lord, we pray that You would stir our faith to know that You
-
are with us every day, Holy Spirit, that you're with us
-
every step of the way that you are speaking, You are guiding,
-
you are shaping us. God, that you are the most
-
important thing in our lives. We love you.
-
Lord Jesus, have your way here in Jesus mighty name, Amen.
-
Excellent. Well, bless you guys.
-
I hope that you have a wonderful day and let's be the church.
-
