The Lord Will Reign Forever And Ever!

Oh, Father, thank You.

Please help us to feel what they felt then in Jesus' name. They have seen with their own eyes what You had done. Yes, Lord, You have done great things in that land of Egypt. They all thought they were going to drown, but You parted the sea and led them through. And once they were now on the other side, how could they not praise You? How could they not proclaim Your name? How could they not glorify You, Lord? Yes, those who love You and understand You and have seen Your wonders always end up sounding like Moses. So, yes, Lord, help us as we read these words and glorify Your name in Jesus' name.

We are reading Exodus 15.

Then Moses and the people of Israel sang this song to the Lord:

“I will sing to the Lord, for he has triumphed gloriously; he has hurled both horse and rider into the sea. 2 The Lord is my strength and my song; he has given me victory. This is my God, and I will praise him—my father’s God, and I will exalt him! 3 The Lord is a warrior; Yahweh is his name! 4 Pharaoh’s chariots and army he has hurled into the sea. The finest of Pharaoh’s officers are drowned in the Red Sea. 5 The deep waters gushed over them; they sank to the bottom like a stone. 6 “Your right hand, O Lord, is glorious in power. Your right hand, O Lord, smashes the enemy. 7 In the greatness of your majesty, you overthrow those who rise against you. You unleash your blazing fury; it consumes them like straw. 8 At the blast of your breath, the waters piled up! The surging waters stood straight like a wall; in the heart of the sea the deep waters became hard. 9 “The enemy boasted, ‘I will chase them and catch up with them. I will plunder them and consume them.

I will flash my sword; my powerful hand will destroy them.’ 10 But you blew with your breath, and the sea covered them. They sank like lead in the mighty waters. 11 “Who is like you among the gods, O Lord—glorious in holiness, awesome in splendor, performing great wonders? 12 You raised your right hand, and the earth swallowed our enemies. 13 “With your unfailing love you lead the people you have redeemed. In your might, you guide them to your sacred home. 14 The people hear and tremble; anguish grips those who live in Philistia. 15 The leaders of Edom are terrified; the nobles of Moab tremble. All who live in Canaan melt away; 16 terror and dread fall upon them. The power of your arm makes them lifeless as stone until your people pass by, O Lord, until the people you purchased pass by. 17 You will bring them in and plant them on your own mountain— the place, O Lord, reserved for your own dwelling, the sanctuary, O Lord, that your hands have established.

18 The Lord will reign forever and ever!”

He will reign forever and ever. Reign forever and ever. Amen.

Look at this, this verse 16, here, "All, who live in Canaan melt away, terror and dread fall upon them. The power of your arms makes them lifeless, as stone, until your people pass by, oh Lord, until the people you purchased pass by."

So, this is amazing. This is Moses here, the servant of God, who has just been chosen to lead the people of the Lord out of the land of Egypt.

"Until your people pass by, oh Lord, until the people you purchased pass by."

Father God did not really go to Pharaoh and say, 'I'm going to purchase these people from you.'

But Moses is speaking to Christ Jesus. He already knew that the Messiah would come. At this point, God had spoken to him. He already knew about the prophesied Messiah who will come in the future. When he is speaking like this, he's already speaking to Christ Himself, to the Lord Jesus.

Here, "You will bring them in and plant them on your own mountain— the place, O Lord, reserved for your own dwelling, the sanctuary, O Lord, that your hands have established. The Lord will reign forever and ever!"

He is speaking about the land of Canaan. But at the same time, the Lord will reign on that land of Canaan forever and ever. He's speaking about the future here when the Lord comes for the Second Time and reigns for a thousand years.

So Moses saving His people from the land of Egypt was the physical salvation. But at the same time, he's also speaking about the prophecy on the Last Day when people would finally be in the New Jerusalem, because they have all been saved finally, and that will be the spiritual salvation. So Moses was sent to save His people physically, but he was looking up to Jesus, who would save the people spiritually and bring them to His New Jerusalem.

And as it is written here, "The power of your arms makes them lifeless, as stone, until your people pass by, oh Lord, until the people you purchased pass by."

Jesus purchased us on the cross. He paid for our ransom. So He never went to the king of Egypt and said, 'Oh, I purchased my people from you.' He commanded them to let His people go. But that purchase had to happen on the cross, and that's when He purchased His people. So, though He used Moses to save His people physically, God would use Jesus to save His people spiritually.

Christ did it on the cross and finished it. But we, who have received Him, have not finished our part. Though the Lord returned to sit at the right hand of His Father, He continues His beautiful work in us, for as long as we are on this earth, we have not yet finished our part. So, we need the Lord, and we must listen to Him. It took Him the time He suffered on Calvary to finish it, but it takes us a lifetime for us to finish our part.

Though He returned and sat at the right hand of His Father, He's still continuing to save us spiritually every day. He's still continuing to save His people spiritually in all generations. We come from this modern generation today, and most of us who are listening to God are saved spiritually, and given that we do not stop listening to God, Christ Jesus, who is saving us, and we maintain it and remain in His love until He Comes Again, that salvation will be final.

So yes, He paid for our ransom on the cross, but when we accept that... you know it's like, "a criminal takes someone you care about, and he tells you, 'give me money and I will return them to you,' and then you go and pay that person what they have asked you to rescue your people. And once you have rescued this person by paying this big amount of money, Christ had to pay with His blood. He had to pay with His wounds. He had to pay the darkness to get us back by allowing Himself to be offered as a sacrifice for our sins. And by allowing Himself to be bruised, scourged, to be brutalized, and to be murdered. That was the price He paid for our ransom. But when you see a physical servant of satan who kidnaps people and asks for ransom, suppose you go and pay the ransom for your son, or for your friend, or for your sister, or for your brother. And then, once you have paid for that ransom, and now they are with you, they go away again, they return to that place. They return to their kidnaper because they loved what the kidnapper gave them while they were there.

See, we should look at this and see that what Christ did on that cross for us, He paid for our ransom. And when we return to sin again, to embrace sin, and to welcome demons and satan in our lives, that is us saying to Christ, "Okay, though, you have gone there and paid for my ransom, I still want to be with the devil because of the things he gives me." So it's like God has removed us from the darkness by the great work He did on the cross, because He knows the severity, the danger. He knows the eternal suffering that will be in hell. He knows how it will be like to all humans who end up in hell. For this, He went there on the cross. But then, many refuse,

"No, though you did that for us, we don't want it. We want to live instead with the one who will take us to hell. We want to live instead with him because he's going to hell, so we want to follow him there. He's doomed to be destroyed. So, though we are not yet doomed to be destroyed, we want to follow him so that we can also be doomed with him forever."

I mean, some people don't think far. But when people reject Christ, after all He's done on the cross, that's exactly what they're saying.

And we should think of the consequences of our actions.

And I just pray, Lord, that they will realize that when they have not accepted You, after what You've done on that cross for everyone, they're actually saying to You, "Well, Jesus, You did that, but I prefer the devil." And I pray that those who say they have accepted You, that they make sure that they have indeed accepted You as they should accept You, according to You, according to Your words, and according to their own minds, and according to their own ways.

I see that many accept You, but yet they still also want to do their ways. Many accept You, but they also accept the devil. Many still serve two masters.

So yes, it's a miracle that Father God sent His Son to purchase His people. He sent Moses to free people physically from the land of Egypt, and He sent Jesus to us, who came in the flesh to purchase us on the cross. And Moses knew Jesus. No wonder -- no wonder the Lord brought him to show us at the Transfiguration, when Moses and Elijah appeared with Christ at the Transfiguration, no wonder, Moses knew Him a long time ago. And this just makes me want to say, 'ho ho ho.'

Oh, thank You Lord. These words are so powerful, Lord. Your Holy Spirit was in Moses. Your Holy Spirit was the one bringing this praise in him. Praise for You, Lord, Father God, for Your Son, Jesus. Thank You, Lord! Thank You so much, Lord God. Yes, You deserve to be Praised, Lord God. You deserve to be praised.

Yes, Lord. You deserve to be worshiped, worshiped and praised and glorified forever and ever. You have done something that no one else has ever done for us.

Who else loved us so much that He came and died for us? You Lord. Thank You so much that You have saved us on that cross. And I thank You for Your servant Moses.

We thank You for every one of Your servants, Lord. Even today, the ones who strive to really serve you even today, serve You according to Your will, and do Your Father's will. I thank You for them all. And I thank You for everyone You bring to repentance in Your glorious name, Jesus, I pray. Oh Father, thank You so much for Your Son. Thank You so much for Your son Jesus. Amen.
