A Sermon By Elise Beatrice - Saturday 31 May 2025
-
Holy Father, God Almighty, God of Abraham, God of Isaac, God of Jacob.
-
You are the Lord, the God of Heaven and the Earth. You are the Creator of everything. You are the power above all powers. You are the Kingdom above all kingdoms.
-
I thank You for Your glory, Your grace, Your mercy. I thank You for Your Son, Jesus, I thank You for Your Holy Spirit.
-
Holy Father, You are above all things; You are beautiful beyond comprehension. You told me this morning to read Psalm 100, which is about praising You. And just an hour after that, I received the news that my brother-in-law passed away. But I’m in shock, and I am in pain, because I don’t know if he heard what I said to him the last time we spoke, that he should turn from his ways and repent to You, Your Son, Jesus. So, I don’t know if he did it. But since you told me to read this Psalm 100 this morning, I take it as he must have done it, and You have shown him Your grace and forgave him, and Your Son, Jesus, forgave him, for all the things he did wrong. Because You told me to read this, knowing that I would receive the news, and now it is time to read it, and I’m in tears, Lord. But I’m going to read it, for it is written that we should give You praise. So, I give You praise. And I’m hoping, Lord, that he had repented before his death. And I’m hoping that, and I’m thanking You.
-
So, this is what You said I should read:
-
“Shout with joy to the Lord, all the earth! 2 Worship the Lord with gladness. Come before Him, singing with joy. 3 Acknowledge that the Lord is God! He made us, and we are His. We are His people, the sheep of His pasture. 4 Enter His gates with thanksgiving; go into His courts with praise. Give thanks to Him and praise His name. 5 For the Lord is good. His unfailing love continues forever, and His faithfulness continues to each generation.”
-
This is the case, Lord. So yes, my God, You are indeed what it is saying here. So, we shout with Joy and worship You with gladness. We come before you with joy, acknowledging that You are the Lord. That You are God. Indeed, You are God, and that’s a beautiful thing. That is a great thing that You are God. It is something we live for. It is something we should look up to. It is something we should celebrate. It is something we should glorify You for, because You are God. And that is great news that You are God, because everything that You do is good, Lord. You only bring good news in our lives.
-
Having You in our lives is the best news that we can have. Because God brings joy, He brings love, You bring gladness, Lord. The Joy of the Lord is beyond compare. Yes, Lord, You made us. Yes, that is even great news that You made us. And we are Yours. We are Yours, Lord. So, I am praying, my God, and I’m hoping that my brother-in-law repented of his sins and returned to You so that he can be Yours. Because You created us all to be Yours, Lord. You created us all to be Yours. We are Your people, the sheep of Your pastures.
-
Lord Jesus, I know that once somebody died, we cannot really pray for them. We pray for them when they are alive, because they must make that decision to have You when they are alive. Because, once they’re dead, they’re dead. And whatever decision they made while dying, that’s what stays.
-
But I’m praying, my Lord, for You to strengthen all his children and his wife, and that You bless them, my Lord, and use this opportunity to wake them up, wake his wife up, and his children, all of them, so that they would not wait until the last minute before choosing to make things right with You.
-
So, I glorify You, my Lord. You are the best thing we have in our lives. The only true thing, treasure that we possess; the best of all treasures.
-
Yes, enter His Gate with thanksgiving, go to His court with praise, give thanks to Him and praise His Name.
-
This is because, while we’re still here on earth, while we’re in our rooms, in churches, it depends on what type of praise we give to the Lord and what kind of thanksgiving. We can be in our homes and give praise to the Lord, the kind of praise that will enter His Gate and will go to Him and to His Throne, and He will hear those prayers, He will hear those thanksgiving that we give with all our heart, mind and soul, that we give Him with love. Because those kinds of thanksgiving and praise just burst through our roof to Heaven, because, though we are on this earth, that love bursts through our roofs and rests in His heart. Yes. And we can be in our living room, or in our church, yet our praises are walking through the gates of Heaven, to the Lord, are approaching His Court, and those praises are in His ears, the Lord’s ears.
-
It also refers to when the righteous will enter the Gate of the New Jerusalem and praise the Lord. And it will be a beautiful day.
-
Lord, we thank You. We thank You for every single thing that You do.
-
I thank You for Your grace and Your mercy. I thank You that You sent me to speak to him just three days before his death. I thank You for all the Bible verses You got me to quote to Him on the phone. I pray that he heard it. I pray that he has remembered who his Saviour is, the Lord Jesus, and then he did the right thing after that by repenting of his sins. And I’m thanking You, God, I’m praising You, I’m praising You, and I know that this praise I’m giving You, even in my brokenness, will walk through that Gate and they will approach Your Court, and You will hear them.
-
I praise Your Name, Lord. I praise Your Name. Yes. Because I have a great reason to praise Your Name. Because You are good. You are the Lord, and You are good, and Your unfailing love endures forever. Yes, Your Love endures forever, because it was You who told me to go and speak to him. That means You wanted to save him. You wanted to save him, Lord.
-
The fact that You sent me there shows Your great love, the great love that You have, that if someone is lost on this earth, You are still always trying to reach out to them, even in the last minute; even in the last minute, You reach out. You reach out to them, Father, You reach out to them, Lord Jesus.
-
Yes, we live on the earth like we have all the time in the world, but it’s just temporary, really, this place, because you could be walking now, and tomorrow you’re no longer walking. My brother-in-law’s death is a great shock, because nobody expected he was just going to die like that.
-
But when You said to me to say those words to him, that his salvation depends on those words, that means You would have seen that he would repent.
-
So, I thank You, God, for Your unfailing love. I thank You for Your faithfulness. You deserve to be praised, Lord. Holy Father, You deserve to be praised, and Your Son, Jesus, deserves to be praised, to be glorified, just like His Father. Please, my God, comfort me, I’m holding on to the hope that he would have repented and You would have forgiven him. For I can’t bear the thought of thinking that if, in case he did not, then he is lost forever. So, please, God, comfort me, please, and fill me with Your peace. ‘I give You praise, Lord, I give You praise.’
-
Haaa, the Lord just told me he repented. Amen. That’s why the Lord gave this Psalm for us to thank Him. I thought so. He repented.
-
Thank You, Lord, Thank You, Lord. Thank You. Thank You, my Jesus, thank You. Holy Father, thank You. Thank You, Lord, thank You.
-
Thank You, my God, thank You.
-
Oh, bless You, Lord, bless You. Oh, praise, Lord, oh, Praise You.
-
Oh, thank You, Lord, Oh, thank You. You are the Lord of lords, You are the
-
King of kings, You are the Alpha, You are the Omega, You are the Beginning, and You are the End. You are the joy, You are the peace, You are the grace, my God, You are the Grace.
-
Oh, You heard my prayer. You heard my prayer.
-
Thank You that You sent me there. Thank You.
-
Thank You, Lord.
-
Thank You that You forgave him. You forgave him. What a gracious Lord You are, my God. You forgave him. Thank You. Thank You, Lord. Thank You, Lord. He repented because I spoke to him. Thank You. Thank You, Lord. Thank You.
