  4. Holy Father, may Your will be done today, as always.

  5. May Your Son Jesus be praised and glorified just like His Father.

  6. May Your Holy Spirit guide us and bless us with the teachings You have for us today. We love You, Father, we love Your ways, we love Your Kingdom. We love everything about You and Your Son, Jesus, and Your Holy Spirit. Lord, we thank You for creating beautiful things and for sending us the greatest blessing of all, Your Son Jesus. The best blessing of all, Your Son, Jesus. We love Him, Father, just as we love You. And we love You just as we love Your Son, Jesus. You Love Your Son, and we love Him, too. And we thank You for Him and for everything that You bring us. Thank You for Your Holy Spirit. Thank You for loving us, and for what You do always and forever. Thank You for hearing my prayer in the name of Your Son, Jesus. Amen.

  8. “3 Timothy, I thank God for you—the God I serve with a clear conscience, just as my ancestors did. Night and day I constantly remember you in my prayers. 4 I long to see you again, for I remember your tears as we parted. And I will be filled with joy when we are together again.

  9. 5 I remember your genuine faith, for you share the faith that first filled your grandmother Lois and your mother, Eunice. And I know that same faith continues strong in you. 6 This is why I remind you to fan into flames the spiritual gift God gave you when I laid my hands on you. 7 For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline.

  10. 8 So never be ashamed to tell others about our Lord. And don’t be ashamed of me, either, even though I’m in prison for Him. With the strength God gives you, be ready to suffer with me for the sake of the Good News. 9 For God saved us and called us to live a holy life. He did this, not because we deserved it, but because that was His plan from before the beginning of time—to show us His grace through Christ Jesus. 10 And now He has made all of this plain to us by the appearing of Christ Jesus, our Savior. He broke the power of death and illuminated the way to life and immortality through the Good News. 11 And God chose me to be a preacher, an apostle, and a teacher of this Good News.

  11. 12 That is why I am suffering here in prison. But I am not ashamed of it, for I know the One in whom I trust, and I am sure that He is able to guard what I have entrusted to Him until the day of His return.

  12. 13 Hold on to the pattern of wholesome teaching you learned from me—a pattern shaped by the faith and love that you have in Christ Jesus. 14 Through the power of the Holy Spirit who lives within us, carefully guard the precious truth that has been entrusted to you.

  13. 15 As you know, everyone from the province of Asia has deserted me— even Phygelus and Hermogenes. 16 May the Lord show special kindness to Onesiphorus and all his family because he often visited and encouraged me. He was never ashamed of me because I was in chains. 17 When he came to Rome, he searched everywhere until he found me. 18 May the Lord show him special kindness on the day of Christ’s return. And you know very well how helpful he was in Ephesus.”

  14. Yes, His last few words. May the Lord show special kindness to Onesiphorus”.

  15. This is obviously God’s will to show special kindness to those who treat His servants well.

  16. The Lord in Matthew 10:42,

  17. “And if anyone gives even a cup of cold water to one of these little ones who is my disciple, truly I tell you, that person will certainly not lose their reward.”

  18. He also said in Matthew 25:40,

  19. “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me’.

  20. So, Onesiphorus was doing exactly that with the Apostle of Christ, Paul, when he could not rest until he had found him in prison. And so, the Apostle rewarded him by confirming the Lord’s faithfulness and promise; he prayed for him in accordance with the Lord’s will, knowing well that the Lord Jesus Himself would show Onesiphorus that kindness He promised to show everyone who treats His servants well.

  21. Yes, this is a passage about encouragement. It encourages me, too. The Apostle is no longer alive physically, yet his words are comforting me today, just as they will comfort those who are truly in the faith and are devoted to the Lord.Isn’t it great that we all love to be encouraged? It is something that we need when living on this earth with lots of trials and tribulations, and persecution and hatred, with lots of things that those who do not understand may throw at us. Of course, a word of encouragement goes a long way. This passage is to encourage us to be faithful, to encourage one another, so that those who don’t know how to encourage will learn to encourage. Wasn’t the Apostle comforted by Onesiphorus? He was comforted indeed. And now he is comforting his son in Christ, Timothy, to keep up the good work.

  22. The Lord Jesus is saying in Matthew 5:8, “God blesses those whose hearts are pure, for they will see God.” Yes, indeed.

  23. Now, Timothy is an example of a believer with a pure heart, and the Apostle is an example of a servant of the Lord with a pure heart.

  24. Impurity of hearts is when we practice any type of sin. Disobedience to the Lord God is impurity of hearts.

  25. If we already hate sin, we won’t welcome any impurity in our hearts. Purity of heart is hatred for sin, fear of the Lord. It is when we are devoted to God and serve only Him, with a heart and mind free from evil intentions. It is when our hearts are cleansed from deceitfulness, double-mindedness and divided allegiance. A pure heart is shaped by truth and genuine love for God, a heart that lives a life pleasing to God.

  26. The Lord Jesus said in Matthew 6:24,

  27. “No one can serve two masters, for you will hate one and love another. You will be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.”

  28. So anyone who does this is not pure in heart. They’re still experiencing divided loyalty between the Lord’s ways and their own ways. This is why the Lord said in Matthew 5:8, “God blesses those whose hearts are pure, for they will see God.”

  29. Indeed, it is only natural that those with pure hearts will see God, because God Himself is purity. God is pure, and whoever is pure will see God.

  30. So yes, we have purity of heart when we are truly following God, and He is the only One we serve; we are faithful, devoted to Him, we are pure, for we hate evil of any kind. Profanity is evil. And if we already hate evil, we even fight against profanity.

  31. Being a servant of the Lord of this level, the Apostle, was devoted, living a new life, not the life he used to have, filled with sins and persecution, which he did without even knowing what he was doing. He thought He was serving God. And that is how many people today are deceived; they think they are serving God, they think they believe in God, yet they are still serving satan, without even realising. Their hearts are not pure; they still want to do their own way, instead of God’s way.

  32. So, the Apostle Paul had to prepare Timothy to be strong, encourage him, and boost him up for the life of obedience to Christ he had ahead of him. Just as the Lord Jesus did when He was about to be arrested, He was there at the Last Supper, preparing His disciples to be strong. He was in the Garden of Gethsemane, telling them to not fall asleep, to be strong, to keep awake, so that satan would not sift them like wheat. He was not just speaking to them, He was speaking to us today, because if we fall asleep, satan will rapidly sift us like wheat.

  33. Yes, the purity of heart is when we are faithful to God, when we live for Him. We can have our own idea of being with God and say that we are with God, but if we’re still letting other things take God’s place in our hearts, then our hearts are impure.

  34. So we have to fight for that. We want to see God, but the devil does not want us to see God. We have to refuse his impurity and embrace the purity of the Lord Jesus, because that is what helps us to see God. So yes, this is a beautiful passage because it comforts me. Reading this, I’m hearing the words of the Apostle; it is like he is talking to me, too.'Cos I am a devoted servant of the Lord, and any word of another servant that is comforting other servants, also comforts me. Just as a word that breaks people will also break me.

  35. We are humans; we love to hear what is good; it boosts us up. But what is bad destroys us. So, I’m giving these words of encouragement to you, who are out there serving the Lord. Even if your faith is weak, understand that the One who boosts your faith is stronger than your weak faith. You just have to trust in Him, by holding on to the Lord, knowing that He is the Power that will take your weakness away. As long as your heart only loves the Lord and His good ways, you are pure, even if sometimes you may be in pain and suffering. Know that, as long as your heart remains faithful to the Lord, and you’re not still struggling between your own ways and the Lord’s ways, then you are on the right path. Yes. You love the One who is pure, and You want to live a life pleasing to Him, daily. You’re blameless in His eyes, and that is purity.

  36. Yes, I pray that the Lord will strengthen you in your faith. The One who is sustaining you is strong. His power is made perfect in our weakness. Sometimes, we have to be weak so that His power can be made perfect.

  37. In fact, I have seen that in my experience, no matter what the devil brought, he has failed, and the Lord has always brought something beautiful, even in my weakest moment. Because that’s the Lord for you, when He says,

  38. “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Yes.

  39. The Lord Jesus is the Hope.

  40. So do not be discouraged. As long as You know who the Lord Is, even if you’re weak at the moment, you’ll be strong tomorrow, because of Him. You should be bold and speak that truth that you know with conviction because it is the truth. The truth sets us free from the darkness. Knowing this truth helps you to speak that truth with no fear, for you know you might save someone who is listening. And if someone’s soul is saved because of that truth, which you spoke, how great is that? Yes, we fix our eyes on the Lord with one heart, one mind, knowing that, yes, my heart belongs to Jesus, my mind belongs to Jesus, my life belongs to Jesus. I live now His life; I live for Him. And, we will certainly see God.

  41. Let’s be like Timothy and Onesiphorus; they recognised the truth. They have understood the Apostle was a true servant of the Lord. Even when he was in prison, he had to look for him until he found him. Can we imagine the joy he brought to him by surprising him like that? Often, nowadays, many devoted servants of the Lord are alone. They are alone; they don’t have much encouragement. Yet we are living in a world with billions of people and billions of believers in Christ; yet the devoted ones can be really lonely, and that is sad. But we have the Lord.

  42. God remains the Beauty; He remains the Healer of our hearts, the Healer of our souls, the Healer of our minds and bodies. He remains That One who saves us. He remains The Good One.

  43. So, let’s remain in His Love. Our innocence is the Lord’s protection.

  44. Let’s keep our hearts pure for the Lord.

  45. May the Lord’s peace be with you.

  46. Thank You, Lord Jesus, for Your servant, the Apostle Paul. Thank You for all Your servants of today. Lord, we love You, and we thank You. You are so powerful. Lord, we should follow Your examples. Thank You for teaching me. Yes, everyone who listens to You, You teach them and You equip them, and they lack nothing.

  47. Lord, You are so great. Thank You so much for this sermon and for everything that You give us. Thank You, Lord Jesus, for Your grace, and Your love and Your peace. We love You, please hear my prayer.
