The Tallest Wall Of Sins Between God And Us

A Sermon by Elise Beatrice - Monday 24 June 2025

Holy Father, thank You so much for this day.

Thank You, Lord Jesus, that we are here, excited to hear what You have to give us today. You have always been giving us great things, the things we don’t expect, or even know what they will be.

Lord, You are amazing, and we thank You for Your provision, both spiritual and physical food. We thank You for Your great presence in our lives, for Your Holy Spirit with us, for Your inspirations.

We thank You, God, for loving us so much that You care about guiding us every day with the right teachings we need to get through each day.

Lord, we love You; oh, we love You. Yes, we love You.

Thank You so much for loving us. Oh, Lord, thank You for hearing our prayer. In Your Holy Name, Lord Jesus, I pray.

I have heard time and time again, even from some people I love very much. So often, you might remind them how much you love God, how amazing it is to listen to God, how amazing it is that the Lord Jesus Christ is your number One. And many would reply, “Well, I was young. I was young then. When I was younger, yes, I believed that Jesus is love and that Jesus is beautiful. But now, I’m a teenager,’ or ‘now I’m thirty,’ or ‘now I’m forty.’ I’ve grown; now I think differently.”

So, is that really the truth that they have grown up and now think differently? Is that really correct, or there is something that they are not quite understanding?”

Humans grow out of human love, but God’s love remains pure, perfect and beautiful. Love, in its full purity, beauty and fullness, is not something that irritates people. So, no one should say, “I grew out of love,” referring to God’s love. Nobody can say, “I grew out of good things; just as no one should say, “I grew out of God.” Because, it is always that something dark came in the way to separate them from God.

So, when they were young, they were closer to God. They knew God’s beauty; they had seen it. But then, they grow up and completely change, and become distant, preoccupied, they become resentful. Something comes in the way of that pure, genuine love they had for God.

They are failing to understand that something happened.

We have our parents in our home, and we love them. Babies love their parents and depend on them. They trust their parents, and know that their parents will never drop them - I’m talking about godly parents and moral parents. There are some parents who even kill their own children, but I’m not speaking about that kind of parents, but parents who love their children, protect their children and will never hurt them. And the children, five years old, even nine years old, ten years old, and they love their parents, listen to their parents; they trust their parents with whatever they say because they know that their parents are saying good things, love them and will never hurt them. That child, then, grows up and begins to disrespect their parents, oppose them, rebel against them because of the wrong crowd they have associated with. You ask, and they say, “I’ve grown up, I was young back then.”

But the truth is, no one can ever grow out of love when they remain in the Light and love of the Lord Jesus. No one can ever grow out of loving their godly parents when they love righteousness. No one can ever grow out of loving God unless they have listened to the devil. No one can even stop seeing the beauty and the greatness of the Lord, unless satan has blinded them. No one can ever turn from the truth unless someone has deceived them with lies.

The problem is not that they have grown up, but that they have mixed up with evil.

No one can ever truly grow out of loving their parents, but there is always something coming there to suffocate love.

When, for example, someone says, “Well, I used to love Jesus; He was my number one, and now, I grew up, and I think differently,” we have to see what happened.

Who is Jesus? Who is God?

God declares Himself as the Creator of Heaven and Earth, as the Creator of everything that moves. He declares Himself as ‘GOOD,’ meaning no evil is found in Him. And we have seen so; and if we are believers, we have the Holy Bible, the Old Testament and the New Testament. And if we truly know the Lord, we see in the Scriptures what the prophets have spoken. God has spoken through His prophets. He is always the same yesterday and today and forever.

Some people believe that God, the Father, is a different God, and Jesus is a different God, who behaves well, and God, the Father, the God of the Old Testament, is the One who is not behaving well. Some people truly behave that. But we have to understand that God was there even before the world began, the One who created the heavens and the Earth, the One who was there in the beginning, creating us, creating Adam and Eve and saying to His Son, Jesus, and to His Holy Spirit, “Let us create mankind in our own image,” as in Genesis 1:26-31. We have to understand that it is the image of Good, not the image of evil. “Let’s create man in our own image.” Image of Good; Image that loves, Image that cares; Image that is good and not evil. ‘Let’s create humans to resemble Us.’ That was God’s will, but then, we’re supposed to be more like God.

So, we were created, all of us, in God’s Image, not in the devil’s image, but in God’s image, which is good.

So, who is God? What are the characteristics of God?

God Is GOOD. And many have all understood that He is Good. And everyone who truly knows God would have understood by now that He Is Good. And no evil is found in HIM.

Psalm 92:15 reads,

They will declare, “The LORD is just! He is my rock! There is no evil in Him!”

That is the testimony of someone who knows God. Someone who believes, someone who knows the difference between the Light and the darkness, the difference between good and evil, and has understood life, and looked in the world around him and seen that everything that is good belongs to God, and everything that is evil comes from satan, the darkness.

And we go to 1 Peter 2:22,

1 Peter 2:22

“He never sinned, nor ever deceived anyone.”

This is Christ, ‘He never sinned nor ever deceived anyone.’

And Christ Jesus reveals His Father to us, His Father’s beauty and holiness, perfection and sinlessness, selflessness and love to us. And one cannot see the beauty of the Lord Jesus without seeing the beauty of His Father, God Almighty. If this happens, it means they have gotten everything wrong and misunderstood the whole Scriptures.

2 Corinthians 5:21 reads,

2 Corinthians 5:21

“God made Him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God.”

This does not mean that Father God turned His Son into a sinner or turned Him into sin, but that He had to take something pure to fix what was impure, to let the Light swallow the darkness in order to bury that darkness in the place of the dead.

Perfect Lamb with no blemish, that reflects the Character of Christ; Perfect, with no sin. He was not tempted by any sin, nor did He practice any sin.

Hebrews 4:15,

Hebrews 4:15

“This High Priest of ours understands our weaknesses, for He faced all of the same testings we do, yet He did not sin.”

1 John 3:5 reads,

1 John 3:5

“You know that He appeared in order to take away sins, and in Him there is no sin.” Yes.

Something that is sin cannot take away sin, for it will only add sin to sin. But only something pure with no blemish, with no sin, can be qualified to take what is sin and carry it upon Himself in order to bury it where death belongs. When He died with it, He buried that sin, and then He rose, leaving sin where it belongs, in the place of the dead. Then He rose from the grave, for the grave is not for the living but for the dead.

So yes, this is the Character of Christ; the Character of God, the Father, because Christ came to show us how God the Father is.

He said, “If You’ve seen Me, You have seen My Father.”

We have not seen Christ physically, but knowing Him, we know His Father; knowing Him is like we’ve seen Him spiritually. Also, because He dwells in us. His Holy Spirit is in us, and we can know His thoughts, we can know His will, and that is knowing God. And knowing God, and living for God, is like we have seen Him.

This is our Lord, God, and here are humans. Those humans are divided into three categories: the little children, teenagers, and the adults.

Little children are those who are not old enough to know right from wrong, from newborn babies until the age they’re old enough to know right from wrong. That varies. Some people can know right from wrong from the age of five, while others can know really from the age of ten. It depends on how slow people are to understand things. In some rare cases, some might even know the difference between right and wrong from the age of fifteen. It depends on where you were brought up, on what you have been doing, on what you have been taught and on whom you serve.

I’m saying that even some people who are five years old already can tell right from wrong. At the age of five, I was very mature that I was already taking care of my siblings.

There are teenagers who know right from wrong, and then come the adults who know right from wrong. So when someone is saying,

“Well, when I was young, I was just believing in God, I was close to God, but then, I've grown up.”

You remind them,

“The Lord Jesus was your number one then.”

They reply,

“Yes, that was then; now, I’m grown up.”

So this means, according to them, now that they’re grown, they can let something else take God’s place in their heart, and fix their eyes on something else as their number one. That is false reasoning.

Children who are not old enough to know right from wrong are closer to God than any adult. Even if you are walking in righteousness, a baby who is not old enough to know right and wrong is still the closest creature to God.

No sin is found in God. God is perfect. God is sinless. God is love. God is good. God is righteousness. God is all these beautiful things. And God is fair. God is Just. And humans, however, when they are young, they are the closest to the Door of Heaven, the Lord Jesus, even when still alive, because they have not yet committed deliberate sins that block the Door of Heaven.

It is not our ability to sin that takes us to hell, but our practice of sin.

A baby is born, and that baby is innocent, pure.

God declares even adults innocent if they’re found blameless in the eyes of God and they’re living a godly life; God declares them innocent.

So, a baby has the ability to sin, but being a baby, until they’re old enough to know right and wrong, they are pure in God’s eyes.

The Lord also says, “Blessed are those who are pure in heart, for they shall see God.”

So we can have pure hearts when we don’t sin. The children have pure hearts. Because they have pure hearts, it means they're not sinning. Still, they have the ability to sin. But that ability to sin will not send them to hell when they’re adults and if they remain pure. The minute they will know right from wrong and choose right, choose to live in righteousness and godliness, they will have no unrepented sins to send them to hell.

We’re seeing here that what keeps people away from God is sin. Yes, look at this diagram; these are sins here. The adults who are practising sin are far away from God, because in between them and God, there is a wall, a tall wall of sins, blocking them from feeling God’s presence. While the babies are not practising any sin, that’s why they are the closest creatures to God. And they can hear God, and they know God, and they know that God is beautiful, and they know that God is good, and they know that God is just. They understand God more than some adults, because they have no sins that they have practised of their own.

They may do some things that are wrong, and that’s why they need parents to supervise them. And when we supervise them, they listen. We have to teach them right from wrong from when they’re born because they are not old enough to know right from wrong. And because they’re not old enough, God is so close to them. God is so close to all the babies; it’s amazing, because there is nothing keeping them away from Him. They are not practising sin. Sins are what keeps us away from God.

So, when somebody is saying, “Well, Jesus was my number one, and now, I’ve grown out of that, that was before “, they must understand that they were more in tune with God because there were no sins in the way. There was nothing opposing God, because they were children and so close to God, and they knew God to be true, to be just right. But now, when they grow, they begin to conform to the pattern of the world, to be fascinated by sinful people who have already been around for a long time, achieving things for themselves. For this, they begin to want to have many things for themselves, most of which are sinful desires. They want to follow their own ways, as opposed to God’s ways; they’re badly influenced by false doctrine that opposes the Lord Jesus, because we are living in the world. They have let something else take God’s place in their hearts.

“Dear children, keep away from anything that might take God’s place in your hearts” (1 John 5:21).

Psalm 51:5 says, “Behold, I was brought forth in iniquity, and in sin did my mother conceive me.”

Yes, we were not conceived in Heaven; we were conceived on this earth that is sinful in every place. But by listening to the Lord Jesus and striving to do what is right in His eyes, He finds us blameless, and we overcome the world by the Blood of Him, the Lamb.

The Scriptures say, “Bring the children up in the way they should go, so that when they’re old, they will not turn from it.” If we teach them right, by the ways of the Lord, and given that they are not badly influenced by the false teachings of the world, the deception, corruption and injustice; they are bound to be exposed to these things, but if we teach them right, they will know how to handle them; they will know how to cope in this evil world. But if we don’t bring our children up right, by the Lord’s righteous ways, we are stealing that innocence from them, and we will soon let that purity in them die because the darkness will come and replace it, and when they choose to do what is wrong now, they are separating themselves from God slowly, clowly, because they are old enough now to do right from wrong. They’ve driven apart from the Lord because of their wrong choices. It is just the fact, really,

God, who hates sin, cannot be close to those who love sin. Those who practice sin cannot be close to God, who hates sin. To want the closeness of God, we must remove from the way everything that prevents us from being closer to God. Sin.

So, instead of saying, “Well, God used to be my number and now I have grown up,” say instead, “I was younger and close to the Lord, and now that I’m older, I’m making wrong choices, and those wrong choices drive me away from God.” And that is the truth. But if you drop those wrong choices, and listen to God who loves you, who knitted you in your mother’s womb, then you feel that closeness of God again, you feel the peace, you feel the Love, you feel the joy, and you feel the fulfilment of being with God.

So when many, after many years in their relationship with God, are still in the same place, it’s because there is a wall of sins, the tallest wall of sins in between them and God. The wise thing to do is to let the Lord destroy that tallest wall of sins, and then, you can walk freely to God, and there will be nothing standing in your way of your relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ.

May the Lord Jesus’ peace be with you, and I pray that this sermon helps you.

Thank You, Lord Jesus, for this teaching. Thank You for Your Holy Spirit who guides me. Thank You for Your love.

Lord, You are amazing, how You teach us, how You bring us the truth, how You open people’s eyes to see, and their ears to hear, how You soften their hearts. You bring this truth daily; for those who welcome that truth will be set free.

You are good, Lord. Thank You that You are a just God, that Your ways are just forever, that You are good forever, that You are perfect love that cast out fear.

Thank You, God, for teaching us all to know who is our enemy, for you have continuously been repeating to us who our real enemy is: the devil and his demons, for they are the ones polluting this earth with their deeds of darkness: with evil and lies, just to keep people away from You.

I just pray that people will come to You and let You cleanse their way. Because those tall walls they have built between them and You, they themselves won’t be able to destroy it; they need You. But they must come to You and say, “Lord, please, destroy this tall wall of sins that is coming between You and me. Forgive me, Lord, please, and cleanse me from all unrighteousness, for You are good, faithful, and just to forgive me all my sins and cleanse me from all unrighteousness. I renounce my own ways, Lord, please help me.”

Lord, thank You so much. You are great forever, and we love You.
