Holy Father, God of Abraham, God of Isaac, God of Jacob, Your perfect will be done in every area of our lives. May Your great presence be among us. May Your Son Jesus reign for eternity. Lord, Father God, thank You. Thank You for everyone. Thank You, Lord Jesus. Yes, Lord, Your mighty hands, no one can defeat. No one can take something You hold tight from Your mighty hands. You are our Saviour, our only Saviour, and You do always a great job. You are the Only One who is qualified to save us. And we love You for that; we thank You, God. Thank You for loving us. Thank You for Your love in our hearts, Lord. Thank You for defeating the liar, the one who is called the father of lies, who has been a liar since the beginning.

Lord, we reject him and we refuse him. You are the Lord, You are the power, You are the greatness, You are the Kingdom, You are the authority, You are the Light, and You are the salvation. Thank You for Your Holy Spirit.

Lord Jesus, please hear my prayer in Your holy Name, I pray. Amen.

So, what is exactly the orphan spirit?

The orphan spirit is not a spirit that comes upon people because of their sins. An orphan spirit can affect anyone because evil spirits can affect anyone. Though people perceive it as a mindset, a way of thinking about oneself and one’s relationship with God, a feeling of being disconnected from God, it is indeed an evil spirit behind it all. That is why it can affect anyone.

A sin like rebellion is a sin, and people have the spirit of rebellion because of their sins. A sin like unrighteous anger is a sin, and people have the spirit of unrighteous anger because of their own sins. But the orphan spirit is an evil spirit who plays with people’s trauma, the people’s suffering; he uses things as these to root in their lives. He conditions people’s minds to think in certain ways, and many suffer tremendously from the unbearable feeling of separation from God.

Many people grow up as orphans. These orphans, whether orphans because they lost their father, their mother, or both parents, feel a sense of separation, a sense of not belonging somewhere, a sense of not fitting somewhere. But it is not only those who have lost their parents who feel that way; you can be bullied at school and feel a sense of abandonment, a sense of rejection, like you don’t belong. Anything, it could be that you don’t have friends, and people don’t accept you. And the devil will use that to convince people of their situations and make it appear like it is something that cannot be fixed.

It is a spiritual condition that can affect anyone because evil spirits can affect anyone without exception.

You see, for example, when a child loses their physical father, they become lonely, and they feel abandoned, they feel like they have no identity, they don’t have a father, and if it is their mother who passed away, they don’t have a mother to be there for them. And for this, evil spirits are there to program their minds, convincing them that because they lost their parents, no one can love them. And they begin to believe that and grow up in isolation, conditioning themselves to believe that. This applies to those who have lost physical fathers. But even those who have not lost any physical father, or those who have not lost anything at all, can also suffer from the orphan spirit when they feel a sense of not belonging, a sense of not being loved, like you’re convinced that no one loves you; being convinced that no one loves you, you detach yourself, you don’t let people in because you’re afraid that by letting people in, they will hurt you, they will leave you. People feel like this because they’ve been bullied and rejected.

I have been bullied in my life, and I’ve been rejected since I was a little kid by my biological father. So, I grew up with a sense of not belonging, of not being wanted, believing strongly that my father did not love me. However, I had strong love and compassion in my heart for everyone, and I knew very well that I had my Number One Father, my Lord Jesus, whom I have loved with all my heart with pure love since I was little. Because I had the Lord Jesus, I did not grow up with a void in my life. However, I never understood then why some people behaved as they did. I was one of those happy persons, not because of those around me, but because of my faith in the Lord Jesus, for I knew that He loved me. I had learned to accept my situation and found love and a great smile in my Jesus. It is true that I missed the kindness of those around me and the love of a biological father, whose absence can be quite a trauma in the life of a child. But I had the Love of my Heavenly Father, and because of that, I have been content, growing up knowing that I had Christ, and I had a strong faith in Him. The Lord has been faithful and was with me wherever I went. Then, finding myself in the secular world, in the music and film industry, life was so different to the one I knew. A world that brought only pain to me, cruelty and injustice, a world that did not want me as who I was, a world that wanted me to be separated from my God.

Not knowing many things and not understanding many things due to spiritual blindness, only worse things happened to me to the extent that I blamed my Lord. I said to someone in the church that I was mad at God.

So I did not grow up feeling the orphan spirit, but now that I understand what the orphan spirit is, I realise I was affected at that time when I blamed God for no reason. You are not alone if you are experiencing this orphan spirit. However, know that the orphan spirit in your life will cause you to sin. Because, by convincing you that God is not with you, by convincing you that God has abandoned you, by convincing you that God doesn’t love you, by convincing you that no one wants you, you sin, you begin to sin by rejecting God, by rebelling against God, by rejecting those around you, by being bitter, by being unrighteously angry, or just by blaming the Lord for your sufferings, as I did, and that is a sin.

So, how does this happen?

The orphan spirit conditions your mind. He changes your way of thinking. Though people perceive it as a mindset, a way of thinking about oneself and one’s relationship with God, a feeling of being disconnected from God, it is indeed an evil spirit behind it all.

I’m using my story here as an example to confirm that this is the case.

The Lord brought me back to my past to show me that the devil has used my past hurt to convince me of certain things that were not true.

Being a singer-songwriter in the music world and also a movie maker, being an actress, and being trained at the Drama School, at the end of my training, I was blessed to have an agent on the same night. He was a big agent; he noticed me at the end of my school graduation. And for three years, not even a casting, not even an audition, nothing. After three years, I asked, “It’s been three years, not even a single audition?” And he said to me openly, “There are no parts for a black girl with an accent.”

I mean, as an actress, you know what that will do to you. What is your future career like if you’re an actress but there are no parts for you, a black girl with an accent, as he put it?

Since the Lord has blessed me with the gift of writing, I began to write short screenplays, so that at least I could act. And finally, during the filming of the first one, which was a romantic comedy, the director kept on filming only the male secondary character’s face, while filming only the back of my head and the side of my face. My character was the lead, yet she only focused on the secondary character, although I was a good actress, and by doing so, she ruined a good story. And on top of that, at the end of filming, the whole movie was out of focus.

Where did that get me? And I was like... why? I did not understand. In those moments, I was deeply troubled; I had no one around me to explain things to me. And I knew that in my past, God had always been there for me, and He had always answered my prayer, but in those moments, He seemed so far away, and I was convinced that He abandoned me and let me suffer. I went to church, and at the end of the service, I was there in tears, and this person came to me and asked, “Why are you crying?” And I said, “I’m so mad at God. I’m so mad at God!” And after saying that, I could not believe I said something like that in the middle of the church. I thought He abandoned me. When you know that you have God with you, that the Lord Jesus is with you, and then, one moment you think that He is not there and that He abandoned you, that is the hardest thing anyone can take. It’s like your life has collapsed, it’s like you, what was keeping up, the Lord, you know, He is with you and has answered your prayers and shown you loads of miracles when you were growing up, and now, in this secular world, you’re there, and you have the feeling that He has abandoned you.

When you don’t do bad things to people, you’re always doing good things to people. You have people you want to help, you do all this, you strive to study so that you can do something with your career to help them, and then, nothing works, and then, you’re graduated, three years, no audition. And you try to do your own thing, nothing works. And then, the first movie that you do, and this director comes and is supposed to be professional, but for some reason, everything is out of focus. I’m left with nothing, and I spent my own money on it. And I said to myself, “That is unfair. That is unfair. I don’t do bad things; I don’t hurt people. I feel for people, I love people, and I’m not doing illegal stuff; I’m trying to do something honest, but nothing works.”

I said that I was mad at my Lord. And that was wrong, because the Lord does nothing wrong.

Then one good thing happened. This person said to me, and though she was not trying to help me, she was just cold, but I believed that the Lord used her to speak to me. Yes. The Lord uses even some rude people to speak to some people in some situations. Not even a word of sympathy. She only said this, “What about those who don’t have a career?” As if to say, “At least you have a career, I don’t.” Just that phrase; she only said that phrase, but I analysed it. I went away and I analysed it. ‘Yes, what about those who don’t have a career?’ And I began to say to myself, ‘What happened to me? This is a girl who left home a long time ago in the pursuit of helping people. When did everything become about me? Yes, there are many people out there who don’t have a career, they’re stuck in bed, some are eating from the rubbish can.’ And thinking about all this, I was feeling so guilty and could not get over the fact that I had blamed the Lord.

Then, when I was calm, I now wanted to understand why God was there for me before, and so close to me, and now He wasn’t with me and seemed so far away, when He was so close before that I could almost touch Him.

In order to understand it, I had to go back to my past, I had to examine myself in a way I had never done before, alone in my room for a few days, I had to think of all my experiences, what I was capable of remembering, and this was a way for me to understand what went wrong. And I saw that God has always filled my life with His wonders and His miracles. And the more I was seeing the wonderful things the Lord did in my life, I was feeling so guilty for saying that phrase. Then I understood.

That was in 2007 that I blamed my Lord; it was the beginning of me wanting to live my life to dedicate as many beautiful songs to God; that was the beginning of me wanting to live my life to imitate God, to be like Him, like His Son, Jesus, and like His Holy Spirit, for I understood that God had not abandoned me, that it was I indeed who abandoned Him. Not by separation, as I wrote in one of the songs, but by preoccupation. Because I was always preoccupied with other things, and the devil used that situation to tell me the wrong things, to make me believe the wrong things. Because for me to even say that I was mad at God, it was because I believed the wrong thing, because I believed a lie. But I understood in that situation that I had to blame God; I had to blame Him in order to understand that He wasn’t to blame. Understanding that, I was alive again.

I’m realising today that it was an orphan spirit, making me believe that God had abandoned me. Suppose I had not woken up, suppose the Lord had not continued to pour all these inspirations over me to understand, yes. And straight away I began to write songs for God, and God was pouring songs over me. I was healed from that lie.

God is never to blame because He is not the problem; He is not the One who hurt us. It wasn’t Him who hurt me. When I was suffering and rejected, and people wanted me to be something else before they accepted me, it wasn’t God doing that. When I was bullied at drama school, it wasn’t God bullying me. When I was rejected by my biological father as a child, and when I was abused by many other people, it wasn’t the Lord hurting me. It was satan, the author of the orphan spirit and his other evil spirits. He is the one polluting people’s minds with lies. The Lord has never hurt me. What hurts us are sins, evil. God does not sin nor does He practice evil. He hates it; He is against it. And God is love.

Fight this orphan spirit with prayer, declaring your identity as a child of God, ensuring you’re living by the words of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Someone can claim to be a child of God, but if they are not living by the ways of the Lord, in obedience to the Lord, that does not make them children of God, and satan will still get his way in their lives. Fight the orphan spirit, or any other, by feeding your mind, heart and soul with the truth of the Lord. Defeat the devil’s lies with the Lord Jesus’ truth.

We have to remind ourselves of the truth of the Lord Jesus, His promise and His faithfulness, understanding that His words never return void, and that He is God, and that He is the beautiful One, He is the awesome One, He is the One who Loves us, He is our only Saviour, and the devil is a liar and he has been the father of lies since the beginning, and his demons; they pollute this earth with evil of all kinds, any kind of evil, they want to snatch the children, the teenage children, who are not mature enough to understand things; they want to take them away from God. And that is what they do. They pollute kids’ minds, and because kids are vulnerable, they want to use kids and tell them lies, and distort their brains, distort their thinking, and make them lose touch with reality, and that is what the devil does.

We defeat that spirit by experiencing the perfect Lord of God, which replaces the feeling of fear and abandonment and isolation. Yes.

Since the treatment of this orphan spirit is all from God, and the liar will make you believe that God doesn’t love you, so that you stay away, and if you stay away by believing that God doesn’t love you, you have no chance of your treatment. You fight it by letting Christ in your life as Your only Saviour, the One who died on the Cross for you. And also, another way to fight this spirit is finding where you belong, in Christ, finding your Father’s house. The Lord Jesus said,

“In My Father’s house, there are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you?”

He said this to His disciples in John 14:2, but His words are also for all those who live as His children and listen to Him. So, if you’re convinced that you have a place in your Father’s house, then you’re going to live up to that, knowing that you have a Father. Father God said, “Call my Son Everlasting Father, Mighty God.’”

Christ is our everlasting Father, and when we’re convinced that we have a place in His Father’s house, that will colour the way we live. Surely, we won’t disrespect God; surely we won’t dishonour Him by sinning and rebelling against Him who is our only Saviour. So finding our Father’s house is the solution, but we cannot find it unless we have first found our Lord Jesus.

You see, for example, when somebody does not belong, let’s say, they’re homeless, they have no place, they’re just wandering about, sleeping down the street, sleeping in a rubbish cans, sleeping in holes, they don’t belong, they have a sense of abandonment, of not belonging anywhere, they don’t have a place they can call home. For this, they are lonely; they are just within themselves; they have no family. So now, they need to find their home, their Father’s house. But if you remember that even though you’re sleeping down the street, you have a Father in Heaven. You have a Father who is willing to open His house to you. So you come and let Him open the door to you; Christ is The DOOR. And He is willing to open Himself and let us through so that we can live in Him. He is knocking also on our door, so that we can open the door, so He can come in and dine with us. Then, we have a home in Heaven; we have a place in His Father’s House, and that gives us a sense of belonging. We belong somewhere. We belong to God. He created us. He created many, but they don’t belong to Him because they believe in the lies of the devil. And if anyone is without their heavenly Father, then they are an orphan, even if they have an earthly father, because they have separated themselves from God who made them. And if someone has the Heavenly Father, yet does not listen to His Son, Jesus, they are still orphans, even though they believe in Him; they did not genuinely let the Lord adopt them, for they still listen to the father of lies, and don't really have the Lord, though they think they do. And so, they walk away from Him, far away, and are lost far away.

You need now to believe that Your Creator gave you life so that you can be with Him in Heaven, and even as we are on this earth, He is with us. When we are suffering, He is with us to help us through.

Yes, find Your Father’s house, come into a proper relationship with God, as Your Father, experiencing His love and receiving His acceptance. That is the only way to free yourself from the orphan spirit. He ruins lives. The devil and his demons are our real enemies. He programs people’s minds; he conditions people’s minds to believe his lies. He’s been a liar from the very beginning. Let’s trust those words that came from the mouth of the One who is The Truth, the Lord Jesus Christ.

Every lie that you believe cancels one truth in your life. If you believe five lies from the devil, they delete five truths from your life. And if you believe fifty lies from the devil, you replace fifty truths that you’ve ever believed. And if there are a hundred lies, your life is just filled eventually with all lies, the lies from the one who lies, the one who only operates in lies; the devil. Watch out for him, for the devil prowls around like a roaring lion seeking someone to devour. Don’t let him devour you. But Christ is there to rescue you, to save you and to be your Father. Let Him in and welcome His love and His forgiveness. Turn from your sins and come to Him. Welcome Him, and you’ll see the difference. Nothing compares to the love of Christ, nothing compares to the joy of the Lord, nothing, nothing. Nothing compares to the peace from God.

Let’s read 2 Corinthians 1:3,

“3 All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. God is our merciful Father and the source of all comfort. 4 He comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others. When they are troubled, we will be able to give them the same comfort God has given us. 5 For the more we suffer for Christ, the more God will shower us with His comfort through Christ. 6 Even when we are weighed down with troubles, it is for your comfort and salvation! For when we ourselves are comforted, we will certainly comfort you. Then you can patiently endure the same things we suffer. 7 We are confident that as you share in our sufferings, you will also share in the comfort God gives us. 8 We think you ought to know, dear brothers and sisters, about the trouble we went through in the province of Asia.”

This is spoken by the Apostle Paul, giving us his testimony, convincing us, reassuring us that we are not alone, that you are not alone in your sufferings. The enemy is out there with vengeance, for he knows that his time is short. So, let’s continue to see what the apostle is telling us here from the perspective of a human being who’s been through tough sufferings for His Saviour, Jesus, the same Saviour of ours.

“We were crushed and overwhelmed beyond our ability to endure, and we thought we would never live through it. 9 In fact, we expected to die. But as a result, we stopped relying on ourselves and learned to rely only on God, who raises the dead. 10 And He did rescue us from mortal danger, and He will rescue us again. We have placed our confidence in Him, and He will continue to rescue us. 11 And you are helping us by praying for us. Then many people will give thanks because God has graciously answered so many prayers for our safety” (2 Corinthians 1:3-11).

So yes, you are not alone. We are never alone, for the Lord Jesus Himself said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” But we must listen to what He says and trust that He knows best, trust that He holds the future in His mighty hands, and that He says Himself, “I won’t let anyone snatch you out of my hands.”

Just do whatever you can to remain His child, to remain the child of God, and by doing so, you are defeating the devil.

Please let God save you. He speaks to us in many ways, but we must listen. He is speaking to you now, but you must listen, you must trust Him above all else. For satan is a liar and has programmed humans’ minds. You may trust someone whose mind is already programmed, and then, you’re doomed just as the devil is. So, you need Christ; we need Christ in our lives, the Lord Jesus; He died for everyone. So, ensure that you welcome Him, and let Him give you what He promised you, and that He will give it to you.

Every sermon the Lord Jesus gives me is to snatch someone from the fire of judgment. I pray this will help you. And may the Lord Jesus’ peace be with you as you serve Him and listen to Him.

Holy Father, thank You so much. Thank You for using my story, my experience, to help many understand what they’re suffering from.

Lord, You are the Best, the greatest blessing we have in our lives. You are the conqueror, You are the victory. You are the perfector, the sinless One. You are the One who understands us. You are the One who has the cure, the cure. You know what button to press in us for it to work. And I pray many will let You press that button in them and open their eyes to see, open their ears to hear, and let You soften their hearts that the devil has hardened.

We love You, Lord. Thank You for loving us, Lord Jesus.

Thank You, Father God Almighty, for loving us so much that You gave us such a beautiful thing, the greatest thing of all, Your Son, Jesus.

Thank You for saving Your people, thank You for saving souls, my Lord.

Thank You for saving those who don’t even know You, but who are looking for You; they are looking for a Father.

Thank You, Lord, for adopting them. Thank You, Father, for adopting them. And I pray that they will let You adopt them so that You will take that emptiness from their lives. You will replace that void in their lives.

You will give them the taste of Your beautiful joy and peace and love, and they will begin to feel Your perfect love that cast out fear, and they will understand that You did not give them the Spirit of fear, but the Spirit of Love, power and sound mind. And they will be happy people, even in their sufferings they will be happy people, and they will be peaceful people, even in their sufferings, because all those who love indeed, all those who care indeed, they go through suffering; good suffering.

Thank You, Lord, for You suffered on that Cross, good sufferings, for us all. Thank You for taking us down the same road, the road that You lead to Heaven, which is far more better and rewarding to love You and to be devoted to You and even be persecuted and oppressed than to be lost in the darkness among demons and satan who so long have corrupted humans and made them lose touch with reality. You are their Hope, Lord.

You are the only Hope of all humanity.

Thank You for being so good to us and always being willing to rescue us.

Thank You for rescuing Your children who still need to come back in the sheep pen. Thank You for rescuing the orphans, Lord. And thank You for Your Spirit of Adoption.

Thank You for adopting those who want You as their Father. Thank You for Your Holy Spirit. Father God Almighty. Please hear my prayer, in the name of Your Son, Jesus. Amen.

“If you love Me, obey My commandments. And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper —the Spirit of truth, to be with you forever. The world cannot receive Him, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him. But you do know Him, for He abides with you and will be in you. I will not abandon you as orphans—I will come to you” says the Lord Jesus (John 14:16-18).
