Warren Taylor - Communion Message - February 22, 2026

It's my pleasure to give a community message this morning.

You should have some lovely people bringing around some cups and bread.

The more senior members of the congregation, I call it the Grey Rinse Brigade, could remember the knives advertisement.

Can you remember how it used to start off?

By saying something like this This magn off magnificent offer includes this wonderful set of knives, but wait, there is more.

And then they would add something weird, something strange.

Thank you so much.

Something like a can opener.

There are some similarities to the cross.

Ephesians 1 7, it says this He that is God is so rich in kindness and purchased our freedom with the blood of His Son and forgave our sin.

Freedom from what, you might say?

He took us from the kingdom of darkness into the kingdom of light.

He released us from being controlled by our sinful nature.

Yet there is more.

We've been adopted into his gorgeous family.

And that must be it all.

That must be the end.

There is no more.

Then Colossians 1 19 and 20 says, For God in all his fullness was pleased to live in Christ, and through God reconciled everything to himself.

He made peace with everything in heaven and on earth by means of Christ's blood on the cross.

Through the death of Jesus and his shed blood, peace has been restored to heaven and to earth.

Isn't it amazing?

It's almost like God continues to build upon build upon builds, and I'm only scratching the surface of what the blood of Jesus has done.

As you take the blood today and you take there, rejoice that that blood of Jesus has this magical, that's maybe the wrong word, mighty where it goes on and on and on.
