  1. Thank you for joining us. That key Life Fellowship for our

  2. Pulpit Ministry podcast. Each sermon on this podcast is

  3. from our 11 a.m. Sunday service.

  4. We are glad that you have joined us digitally, but would love to

  5. see you in person on Sunday mornings at either 9 a.m. or 11

  6. a.m. Now, let's open God's word and

  7. ask him to reveal his truths for our lives.

  8. You have your bibles. If you would go with me to John

  9. in the 16th chapter, John, chapter 16.

    John 16 chapter mention

  10. As We are continuing our journey through the Gospel of John.

  11. I want to go back about two chapters though before we start

  12. in 16, and I want to remind you of something, don't worry, I'm

  13. not going to go back and start at 14 and preach through that

  14. again, but I want to go back and remind you of something that we

  15. saw in the 14th chapter. Very important promise that

  16. Jesus made to his disciples. He promised them that the

  17. indwelling of the paraclete, the third person of the trinity, The

  18. Holy Spirit, The Advocate, the comforter, the counselor, many

  19. of those terms are used to describe the Holy Ghost.

  20. Jesus was promising there in John, chapter 14, the indwelling

    John 14 chapter mention

  21. of the Holy Spirit, he said he's here with you now, but he will

  22. be in you and he began to teach his disciples about the Holy

  23. Spirit and how the Holy Spirit would indwell all True.

  24. Believers it. So now here we find ourselves in

  25. John in the 16th chapter we find Jesus and his disciples walking

  26. closer and closer minute-by-minute hour-by-hour to

  27. the Cross where Jesus would atone for the sin of those who

  28. would believe. However, He's going to take the

  29. time and I'm very appreciative of this time.

  30. As a Believer, he is going to take the time to remind them of

  31. what he had already promised them in chapter 14 and in this

  32. he is actually going to elaborate in their knowledge

  33. about what exactly the holy spirit is going to do when he

  34. does come down upon them. And upon this Earth to do the

  35. will of God and so we see in John chapter 16, The disciples

    John 16 chapter mention

  36. full of grief knowing. And in just a little while,

  37. their lord and savior, they walked with who they've ate

  38. with, who they fellowship with, who they've learned from.

  39. He is going to depart, how do they know this?

  40. He keeps telling them this, that he came from the father and he's

  41. going to return to the father that before that can happen.

  42. There must be his death, his burial, his resurrection, and

  43. then his Ascension where he will Ascend to the father and his

  44. disciples are Grieving here. Rightfully so wouldn't you and

  45. your Humanity grieve? If you knew that your best

  46. friend only had seemingly hours upon the Earth left, And here

  47. they are grieving and they are grieving the fact that Jesus is

  48. going to leave them. He's going to remind him of what

  49. he's already promised them in chapter 14.

  50. The comforter is going to remind them of the Holy Spirit and he's

  51. going to remind them that the holy spirit is going to do a

  52. continual work and so that's what we're going to look at

  53. today. The continual work of the

  54. promised Holy Spirit, the holy spirit is going to continue to

  55. work and Jesus is going to make sure that they know this and

  56. he's going to tell them this so that they will.

  57. Tensed, in the promise of the holy spirit.

  58. So we read together this entire text that we will be looking at

  59. Today. Chapter 16.

  60. We'll look at verse 5, all the way to 15 verse 5 says this.

  61. Now I am going to him who sent me going back to the father yet?

  62. None of you asked me. Where are you going?

  63. Remember before? When he said he was going away,

  64. they said, where you going wherever you're going.

  65. That's where we want to go, and Jesus can't go with me there.

  66. He said you can't go with me. There you will later but you

  67. can't now this time they are so stricken with grief that they

  68. don't even ask that question. He says, in verse 6 because I

  69. have said these things you were filled with grief.

  70. But I tell you the truth, it is for your good, that I'm going

  71. away unless I go away the counselor will not come to you

  72. but if I go I will send him to you.

  73. He's saying it's for your good that I go away because I

  74. promised you the comforter the Holy Spirit and that promise is

  75. true. He is going to come unto you and

  76. to live in you just as I have promised.

  77. Verse 8 says, when he comes, he will convict the world of guilt

  78. and regard to sin, and righteousness and judgment in

  79. regard to sin because men do not believe in me and regard to

  80. righteousness because I am going to the father where you can see

  81. me no longer and in regard to judgment because the prince of

  82. this world, now stands condemned, why would he bring

  83. the prince of the world? Satan into this conversation,

  84. we're going to see that. It's very important that he did

  85. in just a moment. He says in verse 12 I have much

  86. more to say to you more than you can now bear but when he the

  87. spirit of truth comes he will guide you into all truth.

  88. He will not speak on his own, he will speak only what he hears

  89. and he will tell you what is yet to come.

  90. He will bring Glory To Me by taking from what is mine and

  91. making it known to you. All that belongs to the father

  92. is mine. That is why I said the spirit

  93. will take from what is mine and make it known to you everybody.

  94. See how that's working there in the economical Trinity?

  95. He's saying the father has given unto me.

  96. I shall give unto the spirit and it's going to work like that.

  97. What the spirit gives to you is what comes from the father to me

  98. to you. He's not going to give you

  99. anything that I would not Give you in fact he's going to give

  100. you more is going to give you more Revelation it's going to

  101. give you more insight and he's going to give you more truth.

  102. In fact the Holy Spirit as we will see today as we read the

  103. inspired word of God is still continually giving us truth

  104. Jesus is making that very clear to his disciples here but there

  105. are some points that I want us to consider as we look at this

  106. text and some points that I want us to see her clearly defined

  107. here. The promised.

  108. Holy spirit will bring some things when he comes.

  109. Jesus wants this to be known. He's not trying to hide this,

  110. any longer. He is wanting them to know that

  111. when the Holy Spirit comes he's going to bring some things with

  112. him. The first thing that I want you

  113. to see if you're taking notes, write this down.

  114. He is going to bring first Comfort to the believer Comfort

  115. to the believer. In fact, that's why he gets the

  116. term comforter. Chapter 16 there in John's

  117. gospel verse 5. He says now I'm going to him who

  118. sent me yet. None of you asked me, where are

  119. you going? Because I have said these

  120. things, you are filled with grief, you're just focusing on

  121. you, you're focusing on your loss, you're focusing on your

  122. sorrow, you're focusing on your grief, you're going to miss out

  123. on better things if you don't stop doing this because he says

  124. in verse 7, but I tell you the truth, it is for your good that

  125. I am going away unless I go away the counselor will not come to

  126. But if I go away, I will send him to you.

  127. Jesus is letting his disciples know, there are better things in

  128. store for you and they can't come to you until I go away.

  129. I know you want to hold on and I know you want to grieve and I

  130. know you want to be sorrowful because I'm leaving you, but

  131. better, things are going to happen because I am going to the

  132. father. And one of those things is

  133. comfort for the Believers, the Holy Spirit comforts, Every True

  134. Believer. How does he do this?

  135. How does the Holy Spirit Comfort?

  136. Every True Believer watch. Jesus outlines it for us.

  137. Perfectly here, by turning our grief to Joy, write it down by

  138. turning our grief to Joy and how many times in our Christian

  139. lives, has the Holy Spirit taken our great grief.

  140. Our trouble, our sufferings are trials are pain.

  141. How many times can we testify to the fact?

  142. Fact that he is faithful to take those griefs and those sorrows

  143. and to turn them into great, joy, and to move us to a place

  144. of rejoicing in the Lord, in spite of our circumstances,

  145. David understood. This in Psalm Thirty, he wrote

  146. this in verse 11 of Psalm Thirty.

  147. He said you turned my wailing into dancing.

  148. You took my wailing and my weeping and you turned it into

  149. something celebratory and something.

  150. That was a total Joy. You turned mourning into dancing

  151. Isn't it crazy that when the Holy Spirit, empowers the

  152. Christian with his comfort, it can dance in the middle of the

  153. storm. I'm not talking about literal

  154. dancing. I'm talking about that inward,

  155. joy that we have in Christ where we can rejoice in the midst of

  156. the most adverse circumstances we can rejoice in the middle of

  157. our grief. And fact, the spirit turns that

  158. grief into Joy Force just as a song, Instead, you turned my

  159. wailing into dancing, you remove my sack cloth and clothed me

  160. with joy that my heart may sing to you and not be silent.

  161. Oh Lord, my God, I will give you thanks for ever.

  162. See the heart of the psalmist there as he is Experiencing God

  163. taking his grief and his morning and turning it in to

  164. inexpressible Joy and dancing. How many times has the Holy

  165. Spirit been faithful in our lives to do?

  166. Just the same thing? We took that dark situation.

  167. The greatest trial that we thought we could ever endure.

  168. And in the midst of it, he taught you how to dance.

  169. In the midst of it, he taught you how to rejoice and how to be

  170. glad and and how to thank God that we could suffer as Christ

  171. himself suffered for us. It is the Holy Spirit, who

  172. brings Comfort to the believer turning grief into Joy.

  173. The disciples didn't understand it at this time, because they

  174. were infants in their faith, they understand, the full degree

  175. to what Jesus was teaching them, but in a short time, they would

  176. know exactly. What he meant, they would

  177. rejoice and experience the indwelling of the Holy Spirit.

  178. As they would experience the resurrection of Christ as they

  179. would experience his final instructions to them as they

  180. would experience his Ascension into heaven confirming that he

  181. did Truly Come From the father just as he said, the Holy Spirit

  182. would then at Pentecost fall on them, reminding them.

  183. He has turned their grief into great joy.

  184. It is in that great joy that these apostles were willing to

  185. suffer and to be persecuted and to die with joy in their heart

  186. in the midst of their martyrdom. Many of them danced and sang,

  187. praise to God, and spoke of his worthiness and their suffering

  188. is the Holy Spirit, who brings Comfort to the believer, turning

  189. our grief into joy. In fact, Jesus said this would

  190. be so and John chapter 14 as we were In verse 26.

    John 14 chapter mention

  191. He said but the counselor the Holy Spirit whom the father will

  192. send. In my name will teach you all

  193. things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.

  194. He then tells them. Peace.

  195. I leave with you. My peace.

  196. I give you. I do not give to you as the

  197. world gives. Do not let your hearts be

  198. troubled, and do not be afraid. He takes our anxiety, our

  199. troubles, our fears, our griefs And he turns them into what

  200. scripture calls inexpressible Joy Even in our darkest times.

  201. It is the Holy Spirit, who brings us comfort.

  202. Comfort to the True Believer turning our grief to Joy, but

  203. also working all things for our good.

  204. He says this in that same section that we just read in

  205. verses 5 through 7. He says in verse 6 because I

  206. have said these things you were filled with grief but I tell you

  207. the truth. It is for your good that I am

  208. going away. Okay, I can attest to this fact,

  209. immediately, as we don't immediately understand these

  210. things, the disciples didn't understand immediately.

  211. What Jesus was talking about and understand immediately, how he

  212. was going to work such an awful thing.

  213. His brutal suffering, and his brutal death, how he was going

  214. to take that thing and work it for such good.

  215. They couldn't understand that how he was going to take and

  216. leaving them seemingly helpless, though he had already promised.

  217. I'm not going to leave you by yourself.

  218. I'm going to send that Advocate to be with you.

  219. Can you imagine if you would and their mind for a moment?

  220. What they were thinking? Oh, this is not good.

  221. Sometimes the things that we face in life, don't seem good.

  222. Especially don't seem good at the time but it is the Holy

  223. Spirit who gives us this guarantee through the inspired

  224. word of God. It is he who declares that he

  225. is, truly working all things to the good though.

  226. Jesus disciples at the time, didn't understand this and do

  227. many of us act. As if we don't understand it, it

  228. doesn't change the fact that he is working everything for the

  229. good to those who love him and who are called according to his

  230. purpose. Just as Romans chapter 8 tells

    Romans 8 chapter mention

  231. us in fact, when we look at Romans chapter 8 we see it in

    Romans 8 chapter mention

  232. its context. Why Watch it is the spirit

  233. working here in Romans chapter 8.

    Romans 8 chapter mention

  234. Many times we forget that we forget that this is the work of

  235. the spirit that allows us the confidence of saying that he's

  236. working all things for our good. Watch what he says in verse 26

  237. of chapter 8. In the same way, the spirit

  238. helps us in our weakness. I'm thankful that he helps me in

  239. my weakness I because that's all I really am.

  240. Is sweetness. It's all I really am as

  241. weakness. Many would say Kirk but you seem

  242. so strong. I make you this guarantee that

  243. if You see any strength in me? It is not for me.

  244. It is from the spirit of the Lord who lives in me, giving me

  245. strength. He says, in the same way, the

  246. spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to

  247. pray for. He says you're so weak that you

  248. don't even know the right thing to pray.

  249. Have you ever found yourself there?

  250. Don't feel bad when you find yourself there it confirms your

  251. weakness. I don't even know what to say.

  252. How could we know what to say to a holy God?

  253. Lest the spirit himself, reveal it to us.

  254. But the spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings

  255. that words cannot express. And he who searches our hearts

  256. knows, the mind of the spirit because the spirit intercedes

  257. for the Saints in accordance with God's will the spirit

  258. constantly there. Constantly praying the will of

  259. God be done in our life. And you know what, the will of

  260. God is in our lives. As his children, watch this.

  261. And we know that in all things, God works for the good of those

  262. who love him, who have been called, according to his

  263. purpose, know what God's will is for the life of a believer that

  264. all things be worked for the good.

  265. Did you know, even the spirit now, in your most darkened time

  266. in your biggest struggle, right now, in your life, the spirit is

  267. interceding on your behalf. If you are a Believer praying,

  268. the perfect will of God, that this situation, Be worked for

  269. the good and it will be worked for the good.

  270. Why? Because God's word guarantees

  271. it. So we don't like the situation

  272. I'm in. He's going to work it for good.

  273. I didn't ask for it, I know he's still going to work it for good.

  274. Many people read this passage of scripture and neglect to apply

  275. it to their lives. I speak to people all the time.

  276. We're going through difficult times, right?

  277. It's what the pastor does when someone goes through a trial or

  278. a struggle, they come to me. And I point them to crimes.

  279. I point them to the word. I put Point them to what the

  280. spirit is already spoken in regard to this in Romans chapter

    Romans 8 chapter mention

  281. 8. We know that in all things.

  282. You have a pastor, you don't really know exactly what all

  283. thing but you have no idea the degree of the suffering that I'm

  284. going through all things. But you don't know all the

  285. details. All things I don't have to know

  286. all the details. In fact the details really don't

  287. matter. What matters is he promises all

  288. thing? And when you see all things as a

  289. Believer, you want to be overwhelmed by the holy spirit

  290. with an inexpressible, joy and comfort.

  291. That only comes from God. to know that if I even lose my very

  292. life for the cause of Christ, he's working all things.

  293. To the good, all things. Oh, can you imagine the Apostle

  294. Paul, they're only all-steinway when he was beheaded.

  295. I Roman Centurion. Well, that's what history says

  296. about the Apostle Paul that he had his head lopped from his

  297. shoulders, because he would not renounce Christ.

  298. Can you imagine him remembering as the spirit revealed Romans

    Romans 8:28

  299. 8:28 to him and as he penned it to the church at Rome?

  300. Can you imagine in his heart, as he thought to himself all

  301. things, all things? What Greek Comfort comes from

  302. the Holy Spirit. When we understand that he is

  303. working all things for our good and for God's glory.

  304. Child of God. If you were here today as a

  305. Believer aren't you thankful Aren't you thankful?

  306. Whether you realize it or whether you don't realize that

  307. God is working, all things for the good, to those who love him

  308. and who are called according to his purpose.

  309. I mean, people all the time. They don't realize that he's

  310. doing it. Aren't you think we'll that you

  311. don't have to realize it to know that it's being done?

  312. They don't realize it, they don't yet.

  313. See it. Neither did.

  314. The apostles here wasn't until later that they saw.

  315. He was working all things for their good.

  316. Even though he tells them right here, chapter 16.

  317. It's for your good. Sometimes we have difficulty in

  318. understanding that, don't we? We only think that good things

  319. are for our good. Jesus is speaking to them about

  320. comfort in the midst of their grief covered in the midst of

  321. their sorrow comfort, in the midst of their pain, He says,

  322. I'm giving you this Comfort through the holy spirit.

  323. Let me remind you. That if I don't, leave the

  324. counselor can't come. And you were going to miss out

  325. on the confirmation that he gives to his children.

  326. That all things are working. For the good, Holy Spirit, The

  327. Advocate paraclete the counselor.

  328. He's also our comfort will be comforted by the holy spirit

  329. this morning believer, I know and the Holy Spirit is such a

  330. debatable topic, isn't he? There's so many people who are

  331. chasing just bewilderment and feelings and calling it The Holy

  332. Spirit. And then there are those who are

  333. so afraid of the holy spirit that they're not even speak his

  334. name. But Jesus was not afraid to

  335. speak of the promised, Holy Spirit, to his disciples,

  336. promising them, great comfort. Don't ignore the holy spirit in

  337. your life as a Believer. If you worked and ignore the

  338. holy spirit in your life, as a Believer, you will miss out on

  339. the great comfort that he and he alone brings he is peace for our

  340. trouble. Lighten our Darkness strength

  341. for our weaknesses. He's joy for our sorrows but

  342. don't get caught up in thinking that the holy spirit is some

  343. aesthetic emotion and it is the he disorder that we see so many

  344. times that is labeled as the Holy Spirit.

  345. Don't think for a moment that that is who he is, he is great

  346. comfort to The Afflicted. He is great comfort to the

  347. saint. And Jesus promises.

  348. That's what he will be. He's for our trouble strength

  349. for our weaknesses joy for our sorrows, aren't you thankful?

  350. Child of God, for the Holy Spirit, who lives in you

  351. bringing you comfort continually.

  352. The second thing that we see that the promised, holy spirit

  353. will bring, according to the words of Jesus and I love just

  354. to take Jesus at his word, don't you?

  355. There's no sense complicating this.

  356. Let's take Jesus at his word. He said the holy spirit is going

  357. to be comfort. To the believer. but secondly,

  358. he says this the holy spirit is going to bring Conviction to the

  359. unbeliever. Conviction to the unbeliever.

  360. I'm thankful that the Holy Spirit brings conviction to the

  361. unbeliever because if he did not bring conviction, I would still

  362. be an unbeliever. And before you were misled, I

  363. want to make this very clear. In fact, it would probably serve

  364. you well to write this down. There can be conviction without

  365. conversion, but there cannot be conversion without conviction.

  366. The holy spirit is going to convict The Lost World.

  367. Just because he can fix the laws world, doesn't mean that

  368. conversion happen conviction of the holy spirit that opens the

  369. eyes of the sinner that they might see their great need for

  370. conversion. How does this text say that the

  371. Holy Spirit convicts? How does this actually work in

  372. verse 8? He says here, if you'll read

  373. along with me when he comes, he will convict the world of guilt.

  374. In regard to sin, and righteousness and judgment.

  375. Jesus gives a three-point sermon here on the convicting, power of

  376. the holy spirit in regard to sin, because men do not believe

  377. in me in regard to righteousness because I am going to the father

  378. where you can see me no longer and in regard to judgment

  379. because the prince of this world, now stands condemned,

  380. what is Jesus saying To Us by those statements?

  381. What do we need to learn from that?

  382. We need to see that the Holy Spirit convicts the unbeliever

  383. by revealing to the center. Number one, the guilt of sin pay

  384. attention to verse 8, there in verse 9.

  385. When he comes, he will convict the world of guilt in regard to

  386. sin. In regard to sin.

  387. Notice that the Lord, their speaks in the singular.

  388. He did not speak in the plural. We know that there is the

  389. possibility of but not limited to at least 10 sins.

  390. We know that from The Ten Commandments, we know that from

  391. the decalogue, we know that from the law.

  392. He's not talking here about actions though.

  393. Actions reveal this singular sin, that's not what he's

  394. talking about. He is talking about the sin

  395. singular of unbelief, he is talking about unbelief, the fact

  396. that the lost world does not have faith in Christ.

  397. Spirit reveals to the center that they are in a state of on

  398. belief unbelief now, because they are in a state of unbelief,

  399. their life is riddled with sins plural, everybody understand how

  400. that works. And yes, Jesus did die to his

  401. atone for those sins that you've committed, but he also died so

  402. that you would believe in his sacrifice and in believing you

  403. are saved and all of those sins that were once held to your

  404. charge, those plural items, those verbs if you would as, in

  405. comparison to unbelieve those verbs, those actions that come

  406. out of your life are completely washed and forgiving cast as far

  407. as the East is from the West cast down to the oceans floor,

  408. where he remembers those things, no longer Is the Holy Spirit,

  409. who convicts the unbelieving? Center of the guilt of unbelief.

  410. And unbelieving, sinners. Experience.

  411. The wrath of God for all eternity, and they will be

  412. punished for every single action that they committed against God

  413. in their state of unbelief there.

  414. For those of us who are in Christ.

  415. Aren't you thankful that? Because of faith in Christ, all

  416. of your acts of sin will no longer be held against you But

  417. he's letting them know that when you go out and you preach the

  418. gospel and you testify because remember in the versus just

  419. prior to this and John chapter 15, he says, and you also must

    John 15 chapter mention

  420. testify, he must testify to the gospel to Jesus Christ, and who

  421. he is and what he came to do. Don't you know that he

  422. understands that in there testifying of Christ and they're

  423. sharing the gospel that they need to know.

  424. As that there is a greater power at work.

  425. Here it is. The power of the Holy Spirit.

  426. Who will bring conviction upon the unbelieving sinner.

  427. He reveals the guilt of their sin of unbelief.

  428. And then he says this in verse 10, he says a 9 in regard to sin

  429. because men do not believe in me in regard to righteousness

  430. because I am going to the father where they can see me, no longer

  431. he is going to not only convict The unbelieving Sinner of the

  432. sin of unbelief so that they will believe and be forgiven, he

  433. is then going to show them their need for right.

  434. Righteousness. Why does he give the

  435. illustration that he does in regard to righteousness?

  436. He says in regard to righteousness, because I'm going

  437. to the father, where you can see me, no longer, he's letting them

  438. know. The only way that I can go to

  439. the father, is, if I am righteous and the only way that

  440. anyone can come to the father is if they are righteous, he's

  441. wanting them to understand. The unbeliever needs to know in

  442. the Holy Spirit is going to make this clear to the unbeliever. /

  443. that man when compared with the righteousness of Christ and the

  444. righteous requirements of the law, man in and of himself

  445. Falls, completely short of God's standard.

  446. His standard is complete righteousness.

  447. You say, well, Pastor, I find myself in a predicament.

  448. Yes, we do. Don't we?

  449. We find ourself in the predicament, all of us the same.

  450. It's the same predicament that we found ourselves in when the

  451. Holy Spirit convicted us as unbelievers that we have no

  452. righteousness of Our Own. We're in big trouble.

  453. It is the spirit who reveals to us our need for righteousness,

  454. but it's also the spirit who reveals to us and Romans chapter

    Romans 3 chapter mention

  455. 3 that there has been a righteousness supplied for us by

  456. God. Romans 3:21, but now a

    Romans 3:21

  457. righteousness from God. Apart from the law has been made

  458. known to which the law and the prophets testify this

  459. righteousness from God comes through faith, in Jesus Christ,

  460. to all, who believe, Leave. There is no difference.

  461. She said, it's for the Jewish for the Gentiles.

  462. For all who believe. For all have sinned and fall

  463. short of the glory of God and are Justified.

  464. Freely by his grace through the Redemption that came by Christ

  465. Jesus, God presented him as a sacrifice of atonement through

  466. faith. In his blood, he did this to

  467. demonstrate his Justice because in his forbearance he had left

  468. the sins committed beforehand unpunished.

  469. He's saying here he should have killed, all of us, we deserve

  470. death. Don't you think we'll that in

  471. his forbearance? He left the sins committed

  472. beforehand unpunished. Why?

  473. So that he could show us the grace that is found only in

  474. Christ. He did it to demonstrate his

  475. Justice at the present time. So as to be just and the one who

  476. justifies Those Who Have Faith In Jesus.

  477. Oh. Don't you see what God is

  478. saying? There he is.

  479. Just those who remain in a state of unbelief in sin.

  480. They will be judged and God will be seen as just because the

  481. wrath of God will come upon them, but he's not also just see

  482. only seen as just, he is also seen as the one who justifies

  483. those who have faith. That is a legal term.

  484. What that means is when you are Justified, it means that you are

  485. declared righteous that God declares you righteous based on

  486. the sacrifice of Jesus Christ. Why is that so important?

  487. It's important that the unbeliever I hear that because

  488. the unbeliever might be attempting to somehow gain God's

  489. approval by their own Merit in their own behavior.

  490. Even if you take the 10 commandments and you tried to

  491. live up to those Ten Commandments, you will fall

  492. short. God requires utter Perfection?

  493. Complete perfection. And it is God and His mercy.

  494. And his grace here in Romans chapter 3 that we see, he

    Romans 3 chapter mention

  495. supplies a righteousness that is greater than any righteousness

  496. that you could ever have on your own.

  497. In fact, he has supplied a righteousness from God, which is

  498. the imputed righteousness of Jesus Christ.

  499. That is given to all who by faith Believe In Christ.

  500. And what he did, who he is verse 27 says where Then is boasting

  501. in Romans chapter 3. It's excluded no room for it

    Romans 3 chapter mention

  502. again, bows, because it's all Grace.

  503. It's all Christ on what principle I'm out of.

  504. Observing the law. No, but on that of faith for, we

  505. maintain that a man is justified by faith, apart from observing

  506. the law. So what does all this have to do

  507. with the working of the holy spirit in the life of the

  508. unbeliever? There's a Holy Spirit.

  509. Who makes this very clear, who's making it clear even to some

  510. now, who made it clear to some in the service before?

  511. That God has not changed his mind on his standard of

  512. perfection. It is complete righteousness.

  513. That's why Jesus uses himself. As an example, you're going to

  514. see, I'm going to the father and the unbelieving world is going

  515. to be convicted because I'm going to the father because I am

  516. righteous. They're going to see how

  517. righteous I am that. I came from the father just as I

  518. said and I returned to the father just as I said I was

  519. going to do after I completed the righteous work of Redemption

  520. on the cross. After I lived a perfect life

  521. unto the letter of the law, then I'm going back and I'm going to

  522. prove my righteousness and you fall short of that.

  523. You fall short of the standard. You will not be welcomed into

  524. the throne room of God. Where Christ is seated at the

  525. right hand forever, making intercession for the Saints.

  526. You won't be invited and welcomed in there in your sin,

  527. your unbelief. And your unrighteousness.

  528. But if you enter in through faith in Christ, You enter in

  529. clothed in his spotless righteousness you now are

  530. welcome to fellowship and commune with your creator.

  531. The Holy Father, you are, welcome to have an intimate

  532. relationship with the God of this universe.

  533. Spirits job in convicting. The unbeliever is to show them

  534. the guilt of their sin of unbelief, but to also show them

  535. their need for righteousness. And that righteousness has been

  536. supplied only through Christ. In fact, our righteousness as

  537. Isaiah says, in 64 verse 6, it's that a filthy rags that on our

  538. best day. We don't meet the standard over

  539. all of you who are out there is unbelievers, trying to meet some

  540. list of to dues in a standard, be it.

  541. Even the law of God. Know that you cannot enter into

  542. the presence of the father unless you enter into the

  543. presence of the father, through perfect righteousness and that

  544. perfect righteousness, comes only by faith in Jesus Christ.

  545. And when you believe you are declared Justified, you are

  546. declared righteous in the eyes of God at that point.

  547. And at that point alone, Romans chapter 3 prior to what, we just

    Romans 3 chapter mention

  548. read their 21. It tells us, there's none

  549. righteous. No, not one that.

  550. There's no one who seeks him. Both in your efforts right now,

  551. you were trying to somehow. Gain the approval of God through

  552. some performance-based standard or morality.

  553. May the spirit of God the Holy Spirit today convict you that

  554. you need a greater righteousness than that righteousness that

  555. you're trying to muster up by your own willpower and strength.

  556. You need a righteousness that comes from God that has been

  557. revealed in Christ. Jesus, you need that

  558. righteousness imputed to you, or you will not see eternal life,

  559. you will not see, forgiveness of sin.

  560. You will not be justified in the sight of the holy God.

  561. The promised holy spirit, will bring conviction to the

  562. unbeliever. By revealing the guilt of their

  563. sin. The need for righteousness and

  564. this is not very popular but I'm going to preach it anyways

  565. because I'm not into preaching popular things, I'm into

  566. preaching biblical things. The next thing we see the Holy

  567. Spirit reveal to the center in verse 11.

  568. The Lord himself says this and in regard to judgment because

  569. the prince of this world now stands condemned.

  570. He's bringing conviction regarding their position of

  571. condemnation, their position of condemnation, he's using Satan.

  572. Now as an example, he uses himself as an example of one who

  573. has welcomed into the presence of God because he is completely

  574. righteous. He's now going to use Satan as

  575. his illustration and he's going to use the condemnation of Satan

  576. to show us all and if Satan has been condemned, surely those who

  577. follow Satan will be condemned likewise.

  578. If Satan has been condemned, surely all unbelievers are do

  579. not by faith. Repent and turn to Christ.

  580. Will likewise be condemned? That's a pretty simple

  581. illustration that the Lord uses here, it's common sense.

  582. Why is he saying that? Because did you know, if you

  583. were in a state of unbelief right now, God is not your

  584. father. Satan is you are a child of

  585. Satan and you are a child of sin.

  586. I told you it's not popular. I don't have a lot of people who

  587. write me and thanked me for saying things so harsh yet, they

  588. are so true and real that we are under the same condemnation as

  589. Satan himself. Unbelievers are not simply just

  590. waiting to die until they are under some type of condemnation.

  591. Oh, we've walked verse by verse through the Gospel of John.

  592. Surely you remember chapter 3 and that conversation that Jesus

  593. had with a man named Nicodemus? I know we like to only remember

  594. one verse and one verse alone in that whole passage.

  595. But please, can we get past that?

  596. There are many things surrounding John 3:16 that you

    John 3:16

  597. need to pay close attention to all the devil is very crafty and

  598. getting you to look at just three sixteen.

  599. Instead of looking at the previous verses that tell you,

  600. you must be born again. Or you cannot see the kingdom of

  601. God. And then, looking at the

  602. precinct, or the following verses, and you see those

  603. following verses as saying, if you don't believe, you're

  604. condemned already, that's what the word of God says.

  605. John 3:16 will read it because that's the only one you want to

    John 3:16

  606. read. Let's read all the others around

  607. it for God. So loved the world that he gave

  608. his one and only son that whoever believes in him, shall

  609. not perish but have eternal life.

  610. It's a good news, definitely. But there's good news, there has

  611. to be bad news. Isn't it sad that we live in a

  612. day and time where everybody wants to hear the good news?

  613. But no one wants to hear the bad news.

  614. That makes the good news. Good.

  615. For God did not send his son into the world to condemn the

  616. world 17, but to save the world through him Verse 18, says,

  617. whoever believes in him is not condemned, praise the Lord.

  618. Watch what he says next, but whoever does not believe stands

  619. condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of

  620. God's one, and only son. Why are you condemned?

  621. You're condemned in your sin and your unbelief.

  622. You are unrighteous in the eyes of God.

  623. You're condemned because you are an unbeliever and you were born

  624. into that state. He said, well Pastor do you

  625. really believe that men are born into this state?

  626. I don't know. Let's ask someone who would know

  627. more than I. How about we ask David in Psalm

  628. 51 where he says, surely I was sinful at Birth.

  629. Surely, I was sinful at Birth. I came into this world an

  630. unbelieving sinner. Condemned already the Holy

  631. Spirit, convince the Lost of this.

  632. If the true gospel is being preached.

  633. He's convicting the lost, even now their position because they

  634. have not yet turned in faith to Jesus Christ, as Lord and

  635. savior. That condemnation rest upon them

  636. John 3:36 during we even read all the way down to there.

    John 3:36

  637. Again in John chapter 3, he says this in 36, whoever believes in

    John 3 chapter mention

  638. the son has eternal life but whoever rejects the son will not

  639. see life. Why for God's Wrath remains on

  640. him. It doesn't save.

  641. God's Wrath is going to be dropped upon him.

  642. The wrath of God is upon all of the condemned.

  643. Unbeliever, and it is in Christ and it is in Christ alone.

  644. And trusting in Him by faith. Believing. and Christ through

  645. his death, his burial, his resurrection that being our only

  646. hope of forgiveness, and eternal life in believing, that Christ

  647. is who he says that he truly is that he is Son of God and son of

  648. man, that he came to this earth to offer himself as a

  649. propitiation as an atoning sacrifice to forgive sinful

  650. unbelievers, such, as I once was, Till his spirit.

  651. Open my eyes to the truth of my condemnation.

  652. Aren't you thankful that the spirit brings conviction to the

  653. unbeliever showing them their guilt of unbelief?

  654. Oh, how kind that is? Well, the Lord could have just

  655. left us in that state. But he was kind and he was

  656. gracious to us through the Holy Spirit.

  657. He revealed to us. Were unbelievers that we fall

  658. short of his righteous requirements.

  659. That we are condemned. But there is hope.

  660. And there is hope in the gospel. Why?

  661. I told you that conviction doesn't equal conversion.

  662. I pray today that if you are convicted that you are, yes,

  663. guilty of unbelief and sin. I pray today that if you are

  664. convicted for your need for righteousness, that is greater

  665. than the righteousness that you possess in and of yourselves.

  666. I pray today that when you realize through the power of the

  667. holy spirit that you are condemned already that the wrath

  668. of God abides upon you, because you have not believed that

  669. today, you would believe today, you would repent of your sin,

  670. confess your sin to Christ, confess your need for a savior

  671. and be saved this very day as you cry, out to him and him

  672. alone to save your wretched soul.

  673. It is the Holy Spirit who brings us to this knowledge.

  674. Our need for that faith and that repentance by convicting us, the

  675. guilt of sin, the need for righteousness in our position of

  676. condemnation. Apart from Christ many people,

  677. get aggravated with me. They say it seems as if you

  678. preach condemnation I do. I do.

  679. I preached condemnation for all, who were lost because

  680. condemnation, it's where they are.

  681. But I also preach the fullness of the Gospel that if you are in

  682. Christ, there is therefore now no.

  683. Condemnation to he who is in Christ Jesus.

  684. It is in Christ, that condemnation is lifted turned to

  685. Christ today and be free from the condemnation of unbelief and

  686. the condemnation of sin and the wrath of God free today.

  687. The third thing in the final thing, the promised holy spirit

  688. will bring He will bring continued revelation of Truth.

  689. I'm not talking about continued, revelation of Truth, outside of

  690. the word of God, before you jump to any conclusion.

  691. I'm talking about how he continually reveals truth

  692. through the word of God. Through the teaching, the

  693. preaching, the studying of the word of God.

  694. It's very important that we see this.

  695. It's very important that we see the Holy Spirit who he refers to

  696. here in verses 12 through 15 as the spirit of Truth.

  697. Look with me. I have much more to say to you

  698. more than you can now bear. They couldn't even bear

  699. everything that Christ had and desired to say to them without

  700. the power of the indwelling. Holy Spirit, what a statement.

  701. He says but when he the spirit of truth comes, he will guide

  702. you into all truth and he will not speak on his own.

  703. He will speak only what he hears and he will tell you what is yet

  704. to come. He will bring Glory To Me by

  705. taking from what is mine and making it known to you.

  706. All that belongs to the father is mine.

  707. That is why I said the spirit will take from what is mine and

  708. make it known to you. Jesus is saying to his disciples

  709. that the promised holy spirit is going to bring continued,

  710. revelation of Truth. He is going to take with the

  711. father has made known. The belt belongs now to the sun.

  712. The Sun is going to make that available.

  713. Now through the Holy Spirit, Jesus is saying he's going to

  714. keep teach and consistency with father and the son.

  715. We see the Triune godhead working here in agreeance, isn't

  716. it, beautiful? Don't miss that for all the

  717. people who don't want to believe in the Trinity.

  718. Jesus is speaking right here. And you see the Father, the Son,

  719. and the Holy Spirit working in consistency, as one here, don't

  720. miss that. Why is that important?

  721. It's important because the spirit reveals to us truth.

  722. He reveals truth, the truth of God's word.

  723. Inspired it. Oh, how often?

  724. We forget that the inspiration of the word came from the Holy

  725. Spirit. Well how do you know that

  726. Pastor? I know that because that's what

  727. scripture says, second Peter 1:19.

    2 Peter 1:19

  728. You read it in our scripture reading today.

  729. Let's read it again and we have the word of the prophets made

  730. more certain and you will do well to pay attention to it as

  731. to a light shining in a dark place until the day Dawns, and

  732. The Morning Star rises in your hearts above all.

  733. You must understand that no prophecy of scripture came about

  734. by the prophets own interpretation.

  735. Pay attention to 21 for prophecy, never had its origin

  736. in the will of man. But men spoke from God as they

  737. were carried Along by the Holy Spirit.

  738. When you open up the words on the pages of this Bible, you

  739. open up the very Spirit inspired word of God.

  740. This is the word that Jesus. This is the truth that Jesus

  741. here in this text was saying is going to come to the from the

  742. father. It's going to be given to me.

  743. I'm going to give that truth. You can't take all of that truth

  744. now but you're going to be able to take That truth when the

  745. spirit comes and dwells you and when he does, he's going to

  746. speak truth through you. Not only through your mouth, but

  747. through the things that he carries you along to pin, we

  748. have the New Testament scriptures now along with the

  749. Old Testament scriptures. Why?

  750. Because the Holy Spirit was active in making sure that truth

  751. was revealed to God's people. Second Timothy chapter 3, Paul

    2 Timothy 3 chapter mention

  752. refers to the scriptures as this in verse 16.

  753. He says, all scripture is god-breathed all scripture is

  754. god-breathed and is useful for teaching.

  755. Rebuking correcting and training in righteousness.

  756. It's God. Breathe.

  757. Why is that so important that we understand this, the scriptures

  758. come from the Holy Spirit breathing in to these men who

  759. were carried along who were led to pin these things under the

  760. supervision and the superintendence of the Holy

  761. Spirit. That's why it is inerrant,

  762. completely, it is infallible completely, and it is inspired

  763. completely. And we can rest in that, that

  764. when we look at the word of God, we have truth from the Holy

  765. Ghost. It is infallible inerrant.

  766. Inspired. It's all sufficient.

  767. It's all sufficient for all that we need in life and godliness.

  768. The spirit has given us, this truth, Jesus Promised it to his

  769. disciples. He said, you can't handle this.

  770. Now, when the spirit moves in and he and dwells you, You can

  771. learn even more than I could even teach you as I've been with

  772. you. You're going to have the spirit

  773. walking in guiding you leading you.

  774. His words were passed to the holy spirit that were passed to

  775. the apostles that we now read today, as we read, John's

  776. gospel, where did John get this from the John?

  777. Just make this up on a whim? Who absolutely not as to

  778. consistent with the other Gospels.

  779. John was inspired by the Holy Spirit to write down the things

  780. that he has written down here, why he tells us why I've written

  781. these things. So that you may believe that he

  782. is the Son of God. And in that believing you may

  783. have eternal life. That's what he tells us.

  784. Where did John receive this? Some from Christ as he walked

  785. with him face-to-face. But other things obviously that

  786. Christ promised through the indwelling Holy Spirit.

  787. It is the spirit who leads us into to the truth of God's word.

  788. He inspired it watch this, he illuminates it.

  789. It is a spirit in our life, who illuminates, the word of God

  790. using it to exposed the darkness of sin.

  791. The darkness of this world exposing the immorality, The

  792. wickedness of sin. It is a spirit who has given us

  793. the plum line that distinguishes right.

  794. From wrong. Isn't it interesting?

  795. How the non Spirit-filled world doesn't even know the difference

  796. between right and wrong nowadays?

  797. In fact, they are doing just as the prophet said, they are

  798. calling wrong, right? And right.

  799. Wrong. Why?

  800. Because they have no truth from the Holy Spirit.

  801. They think that this is just an old book that was written by a

  802. bunch of crazy people. But oh, how they are mistaken?

  803. This is the very truth of the word of God.

  804. Passed from the father, to the son, to the spirit, to the

  805. apostles. Now, we're reading it today and

  806. even were seeing truth. And that truth is, setting us

  807. apart. And sanctifying us, just as John

    John 17:17

  808. 17:17 said that it would Jesus, preached sanctify them by the

  809. truth. Your word is truth or the lost

  810. world looks as at us as if we're crazy.

  811. Because they have not had the illumination of the word of God,

  812. through the power of the holy spirit in their life.

  813. In fact they can't understand these things.

  814. They are ignorant of these things.

  815. The natural man cannot understand the things of the

  816. spirit. The Holy Spirit, the spirit of

  817. Truth, reveals the truth of God's word, But not only that.

  818. As he is, Illuminating inspiring interpreting the word of God.

  819. You want a good interpretation of the word of God, trusting the

  820. spirits interpretation. Well, how can I receive an

  821. interpretation from the spirit? What you don't need to do, is

  822. read a Bible passage, and then go meditate.

  823. Now you should meditate on the scripture.

  824. Used to think on these things, I'm not talking about that kind

  825. of meditation, do a lot of times what people do their read the

  826. scripture, then they'll look for an outside interpretation.

  827. Don't look for an outside interpretation, use the analogy

  828. of scripture to interpret scripture, why?

  829. Because the holy spirit is behind it.

  830. All You'll see this very quickly that God has consistent from

  831. Genesis to Revelation in the spirit.

  832. Makes it very clear that he is It's his job to interpret the

  833. word for us. So when you get to a passage in

  834. scripture and you don't quite understand it, go to another

  835. passage of scripture pertaining to the same subject.

  836. When your interpretations are consistent with one another,

  837. there you have the interpretation of the Holy

  838. Spirit interpretation that he desired to give you.

  839. It is clear in this true and it is right and there's no

  840. contradiction at all. It's interesting that many

  841. people want to make the claim that there are contradictions in

  842. scripture. And there could be if you took

  843. something out of context, and didn't use the analogy of

  844. scripture to actually interpret it.

  845. But when you interpret scripture with scripture, what you find

  846. out quickly is, this is the most consistent.

  847. Inerrant article of truth that ever has been.

  848. This is more true than anything that I could conjure up in my

  849. human mind. I need to get to the point where

  850. we say that we believe that. And we lent God's word, be true.

  851. We trust. No man is ever Pastor you

  852. telling us not to trust you, I'm saying, is trust the Holy Spirit

  853. over me every time. I'll never make that error of

  854. trusting me over the power of the Holy Spirit.

  855. You see something in scripture and you say, wait a second.

  856. I saw something over here. Kirk said one thing, but I saw

  857. something over here that contradicted this, let's talk

  858. about that. Let's study.

  859. That a little further. What exactly is going on here?

  860. You'll find quickly when you take the entirety of scripture

  861. the full picture. You'll find out quickly what the

  862. truth is and what a sad day it is that we won't take the time

  863. to do that. We're better suited just to let

  864. some man. Tell us what he thinks about it.

  865. But I'm not telling you this morning, when I think about

  866. this, I'm telling you what the Lord himself says about it.

  867. It is the holy spirit reveals truth.

  868. He reveals truth regarding the word of God.

  869. I need to hurry Dona. Nah.

  870. Truth regarding the word of God. But also, he reveals truth.

  871. Regarding the glory of Christ, he reveals the truth of the

  872. glory of Christ. Look at verse 14, he will bring

  873. Glory To Me by taking from what is mine and making it known to

  874. you. Don't miss that there please,

  875. the spirit is the constant revealer of the glory of Christ.

  876. He is the constant revealer of the glory of Christ.

  877. The son, the spirit is not going to draw attention to his own

  878. Glory. You say what does this the

  879. spirit have Glory? Yes.

  880. He shares an eternal Essence in glory with the father and with

  881. the son, but he's not going to draw attention to his glory.

  882. Why? Because he wants to draw

  883. attention to the glory of the sun, and the glory of the

  884. father, In recent times, we have heard of would be in even

  885. claimed revivals that are going on.

  886. Many, of course of asked me as a pastor Pastor, what do you think

  887. about said Revival? here's what I think about any

  888. movement, who Only draws attention to the spirit.

  889. But if it's a move of the Holy Spirit, a true move of the Holy

  890. Spirit, you write this down, it will draw people's attention to

  891. Christ. It will draw people's attention

  892. to Christ. People will be saved, people

  893. would be broken over their sin. They will turn to Christ.

  894. I don't know what's happening in these particular places only

  895. time will tell if it draws people to Christ, it is the holy

  896. spirit, drawing them pointing them to the glory of Christ

  897. measure any Revival. My that not do.

  898. We see something exciting and something, flashy something

  899. emotional Something that's driven by maybe some type of

  900. Personality who happens to be charismatic know, is this driven

  901. by the glory of Christ? Because the spirit is going to

  902. point you to the glory of Christ, his death, his burial,

  903. his resurrection, his Ascension, his glory, he's going to always

  904. draw attention to Christ. He reveals the truth of the

  905. glory of Christ. His life transforming Glory.

  906. See the glory of Christ, your life is transformed 2nd.

  907. Corinthians 3:18 says this and we who with unveiled faces, all

  908. reflect the Lord's Glory are being transformed into his

  909. likeness with ever-increasing Glory, which comes from the

  910. Lord, who is the spirit. If you were being transformed by

  911. the glory of Christ with an unveiled face, seeing him more

  912. clearly and more clearly as you grow and knowledge of him, it is

  913. a work of the Holy Holy Spirit, revealing the glory of Christ.

  914. And it transforms your life, not just for a moment, not for a

  915. weekend, not for a week, not for to, it's not for three weeks, it

  916. transforms your life for all eternity.

  917. That is the role of the Holy Spirit to reveal the glory of

  918. Christ. Spirits not going to draw

  919. attention to his own Glory. That's for the charismatics are

  920. always talking about. All, we got the spirit.

  921. That's a relevant. Do you have Christ?

  922. Because the spirit is always going to highlight Christ and

  923. how will, you know, if you have Christ, not because you flop on

  924. the floor, you run around waving a flag or because you speak in

  925. tongues, you will know that you have Christ.

  926. How how did Jesus say? He said that you will know them

  927. by their fruit. He said that you will know them

  928. like this, if you love me, you will obey my commands.

  929. Are you living a life of practical, righteousness, unto

  930. God, because of Christ? Then the spirits doing a work in

  931. you You have boldness to share the gospel.

  932. Like we talked about last week, except for one verse 8, Jesus

  933. himself, said, when the Holy Spirit comes on you, you will

  934. receive power to be my Witnesses.

  935. Is that being displayed in your life, mr.

  936. Mrs. So-called spirit filled believer.

  937. If it's not, you're chasing after something, you're calling

  938. the spirit. That is possibly not the spirit

  939. at all. It is your emotions.

  940. It is your feelings. It is man-centered and man

  941. crafted. In fact even further than that

  942. it could be demonically. Crafted be very very careful the

  943. true. Holy spirit always points people

  944. to the glory of Christ and Christ Alone.

  945. He points to the glory of Christ, he reveals the truth of

  946. his glory. And by revealing the truth of

  947. the glory of Christ, he reveals the truth of the glory of God.

  948. The father wants, what Jesus said, they're all that the

  949. father has given me is mine. All that's mine.

  950. I'm going to give to the spirit and he's going to point you to

  951. these things. It is the spirit reveals to us

  952. truth, the glory of Christ, the truth of the glory of God, the

  953. Father, it is the spirit who reveals to us the things of God

  954. that we could not see. Otherwise, First Corinthians

    1 Corinthians 2 chapter mention

  955. chapter 2, I'll read it quickly verse 6.

  956. He says, we do. However, speak a message of

  957. wisdom among the mature, but not the wisdom of this age, or the

  958. rulers of this age, who are coming to nothing.

  959. No, we speak of God's secret wisdom, a wisdom that has been

  960. hidden and that God does stand for our Glory Before Time began.

  961. None of the rulers of this age understood it for if they had

  962. they would not have crucified the Lord Of Glory.

  963. This is Paul talking here and he's saying we're understanding

  964. that it is this mystery the secret Wisdom that has been kept

  965. we're understanding. Why was he understanding?

  966. Because the power of the Holy Spirit was revealing to him the

  967. glory of God. However, as it is written, no

  968. eye has seen. No ear has heard.

  969. No mind has conceived what God has prepared.

  970. For those who love him. What's verse 10.

  971. But God has revealed it to us by his Spirit has revealed his

  972. secret wisdom. His majesty, his attributes.

  973. His characteristics from that passage there.

  974. His eternal wisdom, the spirit It searches all things, even the

  975. depths of God or the Deep things of God, some of your

  976. manuscripts. Say for who among men knows the

  977. thoughts of a man except a man Spirit within him and the same

  978. way, no one knows the thoughts of God, except the spirit of

  979. God, we have not received the spirit of the world but the

  980. spirit who is from God that we may understand what God has

  981. freely given us. What is Paul saying here?

  982. you think that it is by the spirit through his power that we

  983. have received the things of God that even Generations passed

  984. along to see, but could not see After the indwelling, holy

  985. spirit, this promise that Jesus is making here to all believers.

  986. we see that through that indwelling, Holy Spirit, We

  987. received the wisdom of God. The Father.

  988. How do we receive that wisdom? We open up the scripture.

  989. We begin to see wisdom like we've never seen before.

  990. We begin to see the wisdom of God in comparison to the wisdom

  991. and intellect of man, we begin to see the wisdom of God in

  992. comparison to the wisdom and the intellect of medicine.

  993. We begin to see the wisdom of God in comparison to the wisdom

  994. of modern science. Human knowledge and philosophy

  995. and ideology we began to see unveiled And truth because of

  996. the indwelling, Holy Spirit who is revealing to us.

  997. Not only the glory of Christ, the son, but also the glory of

  998. God, the Father we see the wisdom of God being revealed.

  999. Also see the attributes of God. Dive into scripture and see if

1000. the script the spirit doesn't move you.

1001. As you see the one true God, and who he is, you see his

1002. sovereignty. You see his associate e.

1003. You see his immutability. You see his omniscience.

1004. You see his omnipresence? You see him for who scripture

1005. says that he is as revealed by the Holy Spirit, you see that

1006. God and see if you don't see greater glory being revealed

1007. every day. That you find yourself in the

1008. Holy scriptures, they're bowed before him learning from the

1009. Holy Spirit as he reveals to you the Glorious.

1010. Three of the father, just as he is revealed to you, the glory of

1011. the son, you see the attributes of God.

1012. And you see his great Glory as revealed by the holy spirit.

1013. In the pages of scripture, Then he shows you his holy position.

1014. It's only position. Oh, it should bring us to a

1015. place of great fear in great reverence when we see his

1016. position over and over in Scripture.

1017. It should cause us to be as Isaiah.

1018. Not to flippantly approach, the God of this universe, The

1019. Sovereign over all the Thrice, holy God, to approach him

1020. flippantly with an attitude as if he owes us something.

1021. But no to approach him with fear and trembling as the scripture

1022. commands us to do and utter reverence fall before him as

1023. Isaiah did woe is me for. I am an unclean man with unclean

1024. lips among a people of unclean lips.

1025. What is the spirit reveals to us?

1026. The glory of God the Father, the glory of God, the son.

1027. Who they are. What they accomplished.

1028. How they deserve all glory and honor and praise is the Holy

1029. Spirit who continually reveals the truth?

1030. The truth of God's word, the truth of the glory of Christ and

1031. the truth of the glory of the father.

1032. So what does this mean for us? As we wrap this up means a lot.

1033. I would that I could stay here for another two hours.

1034. Just to speak to you about the glory of the father and the

1035. glory of the son. But I know the time does not

1036. permit. But I'm thankful that the Holy

1037. Spirit has revealed a glimpse of those things through his word to

1038. me his mere servant. My prayers that he would reveal

1039. those things to you as well and that you would be overwhelmed by

1040. them. How do we wrap this up?

1041. We value the continual work of the promised.

1042. Holy Spirit, that's what we do. We value it.

1043. We value the comfort that he brings to the believer, ma'am.

1044. Sir, you're going through a trial right now as a believer,

1045. Can I apply the word of God to your life and make you this

1046. promise that you have a comforter and Advocate paraclete

1047. the Holy Spirit promised? By Jesus Christ, who was walking

1048. through, that fire with you right now, clean cling to him

1049. for Comfort, cling to him for strength, Sinner.

1050. Can I say this to you today? Perhaps you're being convicted

1051. of your unbelief. oh, my prayer is that you are My prayer is

1052. that you were being so convicted today, that you will not leave

1053. here, without being converted. That you will cry.

1054. Out desperately to a holy God for his mercy and his grace as

1055. you by faith. Trust in Jesus Christ, as the

1056. only payment for your sin As you believe in him and Trust in his

1057. death, his burial, his resurrection as the only hope

1058. you have of eternal life, my prayer for you today is that the

1059. spirit can fix you. To a point of salvation.

1060. When you were broken for a holy God, depending upon the mercy

1061. and Grace of a savior named Jesus.

1062. But you walk in that continued revelation of his word.

1063. You seek truth today maybe we have some truth Seekers here

1064. today. Oh, don't buy into the world's

1065. live relative. Truth relative truth is a

1066. deception of Satan there is but one truth It is inspired by the

1067. Holy Spirit. It was pinned by many many

1068. authors under his supervision And we have in our hand when we

1069. take these 66 books, all the truth that we need to live a

1070. life that is honoring to God. And to spend an eternity with a

1071. God who loved us enough that he sent his son to die in our place

1072. to rescue us. See the truth today.

1073. In value that thank him for it. So I'm confident of one thing

1074. today. I'm confident of this that the

1075. holy spirit is working this morning.

1076. How do I know that he's always working?

1077. he's always working because Jesus promised, that he would be

1078. Maybe he's working on you today. is convicting, you As an

1079. unbeliever that you need Christ as your savior, and Lord today,

1080. would you turn to him in faith and repentance is the spirit?

1081. Empowers, you to believe it, turn from unbelief and send in

1082. to turn to Christ and Christ Alone.

1083. Did you flee? The coming wrath and judgment

1084. that will and has fallen upon all condemned unbelievers?

1085. Would you be saved today by the grace of God?

1086. Perhaps today, you are a Believer, is a spirit working.

1087. You working in your life. Revealing to you truth today,

1088. truth that maybe your life is not lining up with what it

1089. should as a Christian perhaps today.

1090. You would confess that sin, you would repent of that sin.

1091. Knowing that first. John 1:9 says that if we confess

    1 John 1:9

1092. our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us, our sins and

1093. cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

1094. Would you confess that today? Whatever it is.

1095. Do you walk in the Forgiveness that he died for you to have?

1096. Perhaps, you're that Christian today, who's walking through

1097. grief? Walking through sorrow, you're

1098. walking through bad news. What would you trust in the Holy

1099. Spirit today to give you the joy that Jesus promised that he

1100. would bring even in the midst of your grief?

1101. Maybe yield to the Holy Spirit. May his will be done.

1102. Father, in the name of Jesus, we come to you thanking you so much

1103. for your word. well, there's so many things that we have seen

1104. today, but yet so many things We did not have the time to look

1105. at. God, I pray that you make those

1106. things clear to us. And I pray for the unbeliever

1107. who's here today. He's making every excuse right

1108. now, in his human depraved mind as to why you shouldn't run to

1109. your feet and bow. I pray now that you take away

1110. every one of those excuses that your spirit would convict him of

1111. his unbelief that you would convict him.

1112. Of his unrighteousness and his need for True righteousness that

1113. you would convict him or her as that they are condemned and need

1114. to be freed from that. Condemnation in Christ that you

1115. would save The Wretched soul today.

1116. God, I pray for each believer. Who's here today?

1117. They would rest in the continual work of the promised.

1118. Holy Spirit, as we have seen it laid out by Jesus himself.

1119. John's gospel this morning, may you be glorified, may your will

1120. be done now in Jesus name. Amen, thank you for listening to
