  1. Thank you for joining us. That key Life Fellowship for our

  2. Pulpit Ministry podcast. Each sermon on this podcast is

  3. from our 11 a.m. Sunday service.

  4. We are glad that you have joined us digitally, but would love to

  5. see you in person on Sunday mornings at either 9 a.m. or 11

  6. a.m. Now, let's open God's word and

  7. ask him to reveal his truths for our lives.

  8. If you would turn to the 16th chapter of John's gospel, and we

  9. will be discussing this morning. Joy and what it means to walk in

  10. joy. Before I begin this, message

  11. this morning in between Services.

  12. I went into my study and opened a book.

  13. That is dear to my heart. It is the Valley of Vision which

  14. is a Collective Book of Puritan prayers.

  15. And there's no name to who prayed this and no person gets

  16. credit for it. But I read this, it's an O

  17. Christ. All thy ways of Mercy tend to an

  18. end in my delight. Now, de sweep sorrow suffered

  19. that I might rejoice. This person understood that

  20. Christ. We sorrow for his Joy X

  21. promises, shown my future happiness.

  22. Given me a living Fountain. Thou Art preparing, joy for me.

  23. And meet for joy. I pray for joy.

  24. I wait for Joy. I long for joy.

  25. Give me more than I can, hold desire or think of measure out

  26. to me. My times and degrees of Joy at

  27. my work business and duties. If I weep at night, give me joy

  28. in the morning. Let me rest in the thought of

  29. thy love, pardon for sin. My title to Heaven, my future

  30. unspotted state. I read those words.

  31. As I prepared to bring this message, this morning was

  32. overwhelmed. By the joy of the Lord Jesus is

  33. going to talk about that today. It's not going to seem as we

  34. begin to read this that he's talking about Joy at all.

  35. In fact, you will wonder, what is his point?

  36. And he's going to get to his point, but his point is going to

  37. be Joy. He has promised his disciples

  38. way back in chapter 14 of John's gospel, that he is going to send

  39. to them the indwelling Holy Spirit.

  40. He has made that promise over and over again to them in John's

  41. gospel, reminding them that with the spirit is going to come some

  42. things. We know the fruit of the spirit

  43. love joy, peace patience, kindness goodness, gentleness

  44. faithfulness and long-suffering. And here he is going to teach

  45. them about walking in Joy. That's what I want us to learn

  46. today. I want us to learn how to walk

  47. in true Joy. What this really means.

  48. He's going to teach them that Joy is not something that you

  49. have to go out on this crazy hunt for.

  50. But that Joy has been provided for you in Christ.

  51. His Joy is Promised by Jesus himself, as we will see today,

  52. it's procured by his sacrifice. That means he obtains it for you

  53. through his sacrifice. If you could go down to the

  54. supermarket or to Walmart and purchase it, there could be no

  55. price put on it because it would be too much for any of us to pay

  56. on our own. Christ procured it for us

  57. through his sacrifice. And it is provided by the

  58. indwelling Holy Spirit again that he has promised to all who

  59. are in Christ. So Joy is something that every

  60. believer has direct access to but that many Believers often

  61. forfeit in their day-to-day lives many Believers often

  62. forfeit. This Joy walking in the Sorrows

  63. of this world, walking in the grief of this world, walking in

  64. the pain of this world. The trials of this world in the

  65. sufferings of this world, Jesus is going to teach his disciples

  66. today, that it should not be so. Here in John chapter 16 he is

    John 16 chapter mention

  67. going to talk to them about walking and joy and how they can

  68. walk enjoy. I pray that you would learn this

  69. lesson that he gave to his disciples two thousand years ago

  70. that still applies to us. Even today, John chapter 16

    John 16:16

  71. verse 16, we will begin. Here, we win at verse 33 but

  72. let's read it in its entirety before we teach the elements of

  73. it. It says here in verse 16 where

  74. we left off. Last week in a little while you

  75. will see me no more and then after a little while, you will

  76. see me some of his disciples said to one another, what does

  77. he mean by saying in a little while?

  78. You will see me no more and then after a little while, you will

  79. see me and because I am going to the father Disciples wondered.

  80. What was he talking about? What what could he possibly mean

  81. by this statement? In a little while, you will see

  82. me no more and then after a little while, you will see me.

  83. Of course it's caused much debate in the theological

  84. circles throughout the ages. What is Jesus actually talking

  85. about here? Is he talking about the fact

  86. that he's going to die? And just hours because that's

  87. where we find ourselves here, just hours from the cross, is he

  88. going, is he talking about the fact that he's going to die and

  89. that he's going to be buried. And, and for three days, that

  90. little while they will not see him and then, in a little, while

  91. three days, they will see him again, is he talking about that?

  92. He could possibly be talking about that.

  93. That's one Theory. Is he talking about his

  94. Ascension to the father? And his later return is

  95. imminent, returned, a scripture, declares that he talking about

  96. that when he says in a little while you won't see me.

  97. But then, in a little while you will, they're wondering, what is

  98. he talking about? Is he talking about?

  99. Is Ascension in regard to this in a little while you won't see

  100. me but then in a little while just days. the holy spirit is

  101. going to descend from heaven upon you and while you and you

  102. will see me again as the Holy Spirit living in you, God in

  103. spirit, you have you have seen me, God incarnate But you will

  104. see me in just a short time, God, in spirit living and

  105. dwelling. And you what I would say to

  106. everyone here is let's not make this a debate.

  107. Because in every one of those instances they didn't seem they

  108. saw him again so it's really irrelevant what he's talking

  109. about in regard to this. In fact it's so irrelevant.

  110. That Jesus, they're going to ask the question.

  111. If Jesus is not even going to answer them.

  112. We read on this text is, what does this mean?

  113. Because I'm going to the fob, you'll see me a little while you

  114. won't see me. And then after a little while,

  115. you will see me again because I'm going to the father Verse

  116. 18, and they kept asking, what does this mean by a little

  117. while? We don't understand what he's

  118. saying. And Jesus saw that they wanted

  119. to ask him about this. And so he said to them, are you

  120. asking one another? What I meant when I said in a

  121. little while, you will see me no more and then after a little

  122. while, you will see me, isn't it?

  123. Funny how Jesus did that? He knew what they were

  124. wondering. He poses the question is this

  125. what you guys are talking about? I tell you the truth, you will

  126. weep and mourn while the world rejoices you will grieve, but

  127. your grief will turn to Joy. Jesus doesn't even answer the

  128. question that he knows that they have.

  129. He talks about a bigger issue, the fact that they were going to

  130. have grief and the fact that he's going to turn it into what

  131. did he say? Joy.

  132. A woman giving birth to a child has pain because her time has

  133. come, he's going to illustrate this.

  134. But when her baby is born, she forgets the anguish because of

  135. her joy that a child is born into the world.

  136. All the pain is worth it at that point in time.

  137. So, with you now is your time of grief, but I will see you again

  138. and you will rejoice and no one will take away your joy in that

  139. day, you will no longer. Ask me anything.

  140. I tell you the truth, my father will give you whatever you ask

  141. in my name, according to his will, he says, in verse 24,

  142. until now, you have not asked for anything in my name, ask and

  143. you will receive Receive and your joy will be complete.

  144. Please see the context of this don't miss, as he's talking

  145. about Joy. The whole time though, I have

  146. been speaking figuratively. A time is coming when I will no

  147. longer use this kind of language but will tell you plainly about

  148. my father, In that day, you ask in my name, in my name.

  149. I am not saying that I will ask the father on your behalf.

  150. He doesn't have to. He's giving you direct access to

  151. the father through his sacrifice.

  152. Know, the father himself loves you.

  153. It's for all the people who say, I understand that the father

  154. loves the son, but he can never love me.

  155. No, he loves you. What's this?

  156. Why? Because you've loved me.

  157. The Father loves you not because you're lovable, not because

  158. you're good in and of yourself, not because you're worthy of his

  159. love. He loves you because you loved

  160. me and have believed that I came from God.

  161. I came from the father and end of the world.

  162. Now, I'm leaving the world and going back to the father and

  163. then Jesus disciples said, now you are speaking clearly.

  164. And without figures of speech, what he's been saying the whole

  165. time Now we can see that, you know, all things and that you do

  166. not even need to have anyone ask you questions, this makes us

  167. believe that you came from God. They recognize the omniscience

  168. of Christ and they say this makes us believe.

  169. You believe it last? Jesus answered, but a time is

  170. coming and has come when you will be scattered each to his

  171. own home. And you will leave me all alone.

  172. I love that. Jesus tells the brutal truth.

  173. Plain and simple. Yet, I am not alone for my

  174. father is with me. He says you're going to feel as

  175. if you left me alone, you're going to feel bad about this.

  176. You're going to try to Bear the weight of that you can't.

  177. Don't worry about it. The father is going to take care

  178. of me. I have told you these things so

  179. that in me you may have peace in this world.

  180. You will have trouble, but take heart, I have overcome the

  181. world. Jesus is talking to his

  182. disciples here about walking in complete joy and walking in

  183. complete. Joy comes.

  184. Write this down first by trusting in, God's transforming

  185. power, verses 16 through 22. As we read that, we see that

  186. they're first. In that text.

  187. What we see is this we see that if we're going to walk enjoy, we

  188. must trust that the Lord will transform our confusion.

  189. Into Clarity verses 16 through 18.

  190. They're asking the same question over and over and over in a

  191. little while you won't see me. But then, in a little while, you

  192. will see me, this doesn't make sense.

  193. Never in their life. Have they ever encountered

  194. anything like this? They know that when people die,

  195. you never see them again. What are you saying?

  196. You won't see me and then you'll see me in a little while again.

  197. Jesus is telling them that things are going to be confusing

  198. confusing in your life and just a moment.

  199. But I'm going to bring all of those things into Clarity.

  200. I have the power to transform your confusion into Clarity and

  201. that is exactly what Jesus does he transforms our confusion into

  202. Clarity? This brought confused and into

  203. their lives for a moment. As they tried to understand all

  204. of this from the human perspective from their own

  205. intellect. Remember they weren't getting it

  206. as we read through that text at first.

  207. Then all of a sudden everything began to click because they were

  208. no longer trying to understand through the natural intelligence

  209. of man. They began to understand and to

  210. see things through the spiritual and all of a sudden and seeing

  211. things through the spiritual. Their confusion was transformed

  212. into Clarity. We find ourself confused in this

  213. world often. Don't we confused and void of

  214. Joy. When we try to understand this

  215. world with our own human, Human intellect from a human

  216. perspective. You watch the news.

  217. You're going to find yourself confused.

  218. And then it's going to move you to a state of an absence of joy

  219. in your life. You began to watch everything

  220. going on in this world, from just your human intellect and

  221. your human understanding, you will be depressed very soon.

  222. That's why in these chaotic times anxiety and depression is

  223. on the rise. Is so many people are confused.

  224. How could we not be confused? Everyone seems to be confused.

  225. We don't know the difference between right and wrong.

  226. We don't know the difference between male and female.

  227. We don't know the difference between God and Satan in these

  228. days. You continue to look at things

  229. from a human perspective, you're gonna join in and all the

  230. confusion, you're not going to understand, either you're going

  231. to be depressed and anxious about everything.

  232. But aren't you thankful those of you who are in Christ, we can

  233. walk enjoy. When we trust in God's

  234. transforming power, the fact that he can transform our

  235. confusion into Clarity and joy comes when we see the truth,

  236. when we get into the word of God, when we, when we meditate

  237. on the word of God, when we get on our knees in prayer, all of a

  238. sudden, All the confusion is transformed into Clarity and I

  239. confusion doesn't just go away and is replaced by Clarity.

  240. No, he begins to transform your mind in Christ Jesus.

  241. And as it is transformed, now you have Clarity where you once

  242. had confusion. Now since to each of you this

  243. morning, if you are confused about life right now, at this

  244. moment, I don't care. We like to often say it's only

  245. teenagers are can who are Confused.

  246. You might be retired and still confused.

  247. If you're confused about life at this point, what is true life?

  248. It is only in Christ that you will find clarity about the

  249. meaning of life. Why?

  250. Because he is the resurrection and the life Clarity comes when

  251. your mind is transformed in Christ.

  252. This statement that they're looking at it, it brought

  253. confusion into their life, what does he mean?

  254. He's going to in a little while, I'll be gone and then in a

  255. little while we're going to see him again.

  256. N. Jesus is going to just as he

  257. does in our life. Take their confusion and give

  258. them Clarity. And when this happened, When

  259. this happened at his resurrection.

  260. Things begin to become clear when they went to the tomb that

  261. morning and it was empty, they ran back to toe all the other

  262. disciples. Things began to clear up.

  263. Hey, you know what we were confused?

  264. He was supposed to be the Messiah and then how he's in a

  265. tomb, then someone came back and said he was in a tomb, but the

  266. tomb is empty. just like you said, they received a little

  267. Clarity in the midst of their confusion, and then We know this

  268. on the day of Pentecost, after his Ascension into heaven, he

  269. had already promised them. The promised Holy Spirit.

  270. Told him to wait in Jerusalem until the Holy Spirit came on

  271. them and here they are in Jerusalem, waiting and waiting.

  272. I'm waiting. And finally, the Holy Spirit,

  273. does descend on the Believers and in that moment great clarity

  274. came. In fact immediately Peter said

  275. this is what Joel said was going to happen.

  276. This is it this is the promise of Christ.

  277. This is the promise of the prophets.

  278. We have a little more clarity. He took their confusion, he made

  279. it clear. Then we know this.

  280. One day. Because Christ has ascended into

  281. heaven, where he has promised us, that he will return to this

  282. earth. He is going to return and he's

  283. going to bring ultimate Claritin so I choose not to get into the

  284. debate with all of the scholars about was it talking about?

  285. His resurrection was a talking about his Ascension, wasn't

  286. talking, and the coming Holy Spirit at Pentecost, and his

  287. Ascension, maybe in reference to the return of Christ is talking

  288. about all of those things. It is Christ.

  289. Who brings Clarity to our confusion.

  290. When he returns to this earth. He's going to bring complete

  291. Clarity. Paul wrote about this in First

    1 Corinthians 13 chapter mention

  292. Corinthians chapter 13. When he said this in verse 12,

  293. now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror poor reflection

  294. as in a mirror mirror kind of looks like you especially in

  295. their days. They just would take a piece of

  296. glass and polish it the best that they could, didn't have all

  297. these fancy cosmetic mirrors. Like you ladies have where you

  298. can blow up a nose hair where it looks like it's four miles long.

  299. They had a piece of polished glass, that's all they had and

  300. so they could tell that was an image of what they were looking

  301. at. But it wasn't a clear image.

  302. It had some clarity but it wasn't all the way.

  303. Clear. He said you see it as a poor

  304. reflection as in a mirror. He said, but then then you will

  305. see or shall see face to face, you are going to see

  306. face-to-face. The glory of the Lord,

  307. everything is going to be clear. He says, now I know in part I

  308. don't park. There are some things that are

  309. clear. And it is removed, my confusion

  310. about some things. he says, but then Then.

  311. I shall know fully even as I am fully known, it is trusting in

  312. God's transforming power that he is constantly Transforming Our

  313. confusion into Clarity and he will ultimately do that when

  314. Christ returns to redeem this wicked world, it's going to make

  315. all things clear. Many people say this when I get

  316. to heaven, the first thing that I'm going to ask is no, you

  317. won't. The first thing that you're

  318. going to do, when you get to heaven, is you're going to bow

  319. at the feet of Jesus face-to-face than all of your

  320. Earthly questions are going to be answered in all of the

  321. confusion of this life is going to be gone and you will have

  322. complete Clarity. He is going to transform and is

  323. transforming for those of you who are in Christ.

  324. You're a confusion to Clarity and that ought to bring you

  325. great joy. The disciples wanted hey, fix

  326. our confusion. Jesus said no, making a fixture

  327. confusing. I'm going to transform it into

  328. Clarity. That's why they said, oh, now we

  329. see, now we get. It was like those moments in my

  330. study where I have that portion of scripture that's difficult to

  331. interpret in the Holy Spirit, then gives me insight into it

  332. and I'm overwhelmed with joy. Why?

  333. He's taking my confusion and he's made it into clarities

  334. turned it into clarity. God is a master of doing that,

  335. isn't he is a God who transforms our confusion and declared him.

  336. We find great joy in that Christian know that perhaps

  337. you're confused about something right now, go to your knees, go

  338. to the word of God. And see if God is Not faithful

  339. to transform your confusion to Clarity, our answers are found

  340. here in these 66 books, that are bound between two pieces of

  341. leather. They are here it.

  342. We wonder why we don't have joy. We don't have joy because we

  343. don't seek Clarity from the Lord we accept confusion.

  344. He says, guys, you don't have to say except confusing.

  345. You want to find Joy. Trust in my power, to transform

  346. your confusion in the clarity. Secondly, Jesus also tells them

  347. this It is he who has the transforming power to transform

  348. our grief into Joy. Not only, does he transform our

  349. confusion into Clarity, he transforms our grief into Joy.

  350. Spurgeon said this, he said your sorrow itself, shall be turned

  351. into Joy. Not the sorrow to be taken away

  352. and joy to be put in its place, but the very sorrow which

  353. Grieves you the same thing that causes you to suffer and mourn.

  354. He says shall be turned into Joy.

  355. That's the transforming power of God.

  356. God not only takes away the bitterness and give sweetness in

  357. sweetness and it's Displays, but turns the bitterness into

  358. sweetness, it's self. What is he saying?

  359. He's saying exactly what Jesus is saying.

  360. I'm going to turn your grief into Joy.

  361. Look at verse 20. He says it right there.

  362. Verse 20 of chapter, 16. I tell you the truth, you will

  363. weep and mourn while the world rejoices they're going to

  364. Rejoice at the fact that I died. And I'm gone.

  365. I am no longer a thorn in the flesh of the religious leaders,

  366. you will grieve, but your grief will turn to Joy.

  367. That word turn is be transform. Your grief will be transformed

  368. into joy. And why is that so important?

  369. Because the God who transforms Winter into spring or watching

  370. it happen right now in just days.

  371. We have seen the green leaves bud in the flowers bloom and two

  372. and a quarter inches of yellow pollen on all of our vehicles,

  373. showing us. This showing us that God doesn't

  374. just take away winter and replace it with spring.

  375. There is a transformation that happens.

  376. He transforms winter into spring and then spring into summer and

  377. then summer into fall. He is a God God, who transforms?

  378. He transforms your confusion into Clarity and he transforms

  379. your grief into Joy. What a promise from Christ, not

  380. that he's going to do as the world would desire him to do and

  381. here's how the world does things.

  382. Take my grief away so that I don't have to suffer the Greek.

  383. And just give me joy. No, God, doesn't work like that.

  384. What God does is he allows you to suffer grief so that he can

  385. display his transforming Supernatural, power to take

  386. grief and to turn it into Joy. So that he receives all glory

  387. and honor and praise as a God who transformed.

  388. Will transform our grief into Joy.

  389. The desire for God to simply just remove your grief, make you

  390. go away. Is the desire of an immature

  391. Christian at best. It is the desire of an immature

  392. Christian at best. Because where would we be

  393. Church? Where would we be?

  394. Without a God. Who transformed the sorrow of

  395. Christ. And the suffering of Christ and

  396. the grief and the pain of Christ, where would we be

  397. without a God who transformed the greatest suffering, that the

  398. world has ever seen and to the greatest joy that we could ever

  399. know? Look at the illustration that

  400. Jesus uses there and verse 21 you ladies who have children

  401. here understand it quite well as men, we have no idea.

  402. Unless we've had kidney stones. But in verse 21, he uses an

  403. illustration. That's why I don't have to come

  404. up with some cool. Hip illustration.

  405. Jesus has a great one right here. a woman giving birth, he

  406. says, a woman giving birth to a child has pain because her time

  407. has come She's in labor when her baby is born when he transforms

  408. her pain into Joy. When her baby is born, she

  409. forgets the anguish because of her joy that a child is born

  410. into the world. What an illustration that the

  411. Lord gives us. I'm going to turn.

  412. Your grief in your pain. Into your greatest joy just like

  413. the pain of Labor turns into the mother's greatest joy.

  414. Oh, those of us who have children and who were there in

  415. that moment, we got to see God transform.

  416. The greatest pain that our wife is ever gone through besides

  417. dealing with us. Into the greatest joy as she

  418. held that child for the first time.

  419. And she wept and she praised her God all of the pain at that

  420. moment in time was transformed into Joy.

  421. What are you saying that he does?

  422. He transforms grief into Joy, he transforms confusion into

  423. Clarity that brings us great joy.

  424. It is in the same cross. Jesus didn't have a cross of

  425. sorrow and suffering and then a separate Cross of joy.

  426. It is in the same cross that suffering.

  427. Enjoy means where the father took the suffering of the Cross

  428. and he changed it into transforming it into the joy of

  429. Christ. Look what Hebrews says in

  430. Hebrews chapter 12 verse 2, it says let us fix our eyes on

    Hebrews 12:2

  431. Jesus, the author and Perfecter of our faith who for the joy,

  432. set before him Endured the cross.

  433. Scorning its shame and sat down at the right hand of the Throne

  434. of God, he was transformed from a position of suffering and

  435. pain, and Agony and death. To a position of honor and

  436. Authority where he was seated at the right hand of the father.

  437. What a blessing we get. When we see that, we have a God

  438. who by Nature transforms things Transforming Our confusion into

  439. Clarity and Transforming Our grief into Joy.

  440. I must hurry. Number two.

  441. He walk enjoy not only by trusting in God's transforming

  442. power but secondly by believing God's promises.

  443. I really believe in God's promises in verses 23 on down

  444. through 28. Jesus is going to speak of some

  445. specific promises though. We should cling to all of his

  446. promises and he's want to speak of specific promises here.

  447. One our access to the father and to the Ascension of Christ and I

  448. want to break that down because he speaks of both of them here

  449. in reference to the Joy. And the lives of the disciples.

  450. He says, in that day, you will no longer.

  451. Ask me anything. I tell you the truth.

  452. My father will give you whatever you ask in my name.

  453. Until now you have not asked for anything in my name, ask and you

  454. will receive, and your joy will be complete.

  455. No, I have been speaking, figuratively, figuratively.

  456. A time is coming when I will no longer use this, kind of

  457. language, but will tell you plainly about my father, and

  458. that day, you will ask in my name.

  459. I am not saying that, I will ask the father on your behalf.

  460. No. The father himself loves you

  461. because you have loved me and have believed that I came from

  462. God. What is Jesus saying there?

  463. He's saying you can have joy because of your access to the

  464. father I want Christians to understand this because many

  465. Christians fail to understand this principle we have in Christ

  466. and since we are in Christ, we have direct access to almighty.

  467. God, the Father Many people don't understand that.

  468. That we can as Hebrews chapter 4 tells us.

    Hebrews 4 chapter mention

  469. Because of Christ. We can approach the father in

  470. confidence Hebrews 4:14 says, therefore, since we have a great

    Hebrews 4:14

  471. high priest who has gone through the heavens Jesus, the son of

  472. God, let us hold firmly to the faith.

  473. We possess he says because of Christ in our confidence in

  474. Christ and also allows us to have confidence in something

  475. else. Watch this.

  476. But we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with

  477. our weaknesses but we have one who has been tempted in every

  478. way just as we are yet guests, as we are yet with is was

  479. without sin. 4:16 says let us then approach the throne of

  480. grace with confidence. So that we may receive mercy and

  481. find Grace to help us in our time of need.

  482. There are many of you even as believers who are missing out on

  483. great joy because you think that something you did as a Believer

  484. has hindered your access to the throne of grace and that is

  485. positively not true. It is in Christ, the great high

  486. priest that we have access to the father.

  487. That's what Jesus is telling them, you're no longer, going to

  488. have to count on me to intercede for you.

  489. I am interceding for you. Now, what you were going to

  490. realize is, you have direct access to the father.

  491. When you ask in my name, according to my will, the father

  492. will act and react on my behalf for you and on your behalf.

  493. Half because he now loves you because you love me.

  494. What promise? Not to bring us great joy that

  495. we have access to the creator of the universe.

  496. The throne room is open to his children.

  497. The veil has been torn. You can confidently walk into

  498. the holy of holies because of the great high priest.

  499. The Lord Jesus Christ. Who made a way for you through

  500. his sacrifice he gives us access to the father Through that torn

  501. Veil, his broken beaten body and allowed us access into the

  502. presence of a holy God and Christ.

  503. We now have peace with God that hostility that once was there

  504. between God and unbelieving man has been reconciled.

  505. And it is through him. The finished work there at

  506. Calvary. We can have great joy in

  507. accessing the father. He says that you can approach

  508. with confidence. Oh how many times has the enemy

  509. kept you from approaching the Throne of God because of

  510. something you did. Oh you're not worthy.

  511. No not the crisis. But you can't really think that

  512. you can still approach God in your condition.

  513. No, I can't. But Christ has covered my sin

  514. and so I can I can confidently. Trust in the finished work of

  515. Christ as access to the father and with that becomes.

  516. Rejoice in my life. We walk by Joy by believing

  517. God's promises. The promise that he has told us

  518. that we have access to the father but also the Ascension of

  519. Christ in this text. The two main promises that we

  520. see here verse, 28 speaks of the Ascension of Christ.

  521. It says I came from the father and entered the world.

  522. Now I'm leaving the world and going back to the father with

  523. there's no debate there. He's obviously talking about the

  524. Ascension because he's going back to the father.

  525. What is the Ascension of Christ have to do with anything in

  526. relation to our joy? Well unfortunately, the

  527. Ascension of Christ is that most of the time, untalked about

  528. aspect of the finished work of Calvary, it is his death, his

  529. burial, his resurrection and his Ascension that gives us great.

  530. Hope Jesus is wanting them to see the importance of his

  531. Ascension because they're going to see that in just a short

  532. while. Is Jesus Ascension confirms some

  533. things for the believer, for one.

  534. It confirms says, it should bring you great.

  535. Joy his head. He is who he said that.

  536. He is our, we can remember in John's gospel.

  537. How many times have we seen? Jesus said that.

  538. I came from the father. And I came not to do my will,

  539. but the will of the father, and then when I'm done doing his

  540. will, I'm going to return to him.

  541. And so when we see the Ascension of Christ that he has truly

  542. return to the father, you know what, we can have confidence in

  543. the work of Christ has done. It's complete, he doesn't have

  544. to come back and do another thing so that we can be saved so

  545. that we can be secure in him. So that all of our sin can be

  546. forgiven and we can walk and true Joy.

  547. He doesn't have to do a single thing, it is already done.

  548. In fact, on the cross, Jesus declared it is, what finished?

  549. What a declaration with his Ascension, it put the stamp on

  550. it, he is who he says, he is when they saw him leaving this

  551. earth going into the clouds to go back to the father.

  552. But don't, you know that the disciples were elbowing one

  553. another, he's going back to where he said he came from.

  554. He is the Christ, the son of the Living.

  555. God has a spirit has allowed us to see that and allowed us to

  556. believe that he is who he says he is.

  557. And don't, you know, they were overwhelmed with great joy at

  558. the Ascension of Christ. He confirmed, he is who he says

  559. he is, but it also confirmed that his work was finished.

  560. It's done. Yes to do.

  561. Nothing else to redeem those who he desires to redeem finish.

  562. He's Ascension also confirms. That there is.

  563. Constant. Intercession occurring on behalf

  564. of the Saints. Consonants that, you know, he

  565. doesn't have to intercede. He doesn't have to intercede in

  566. reference to our access to the father.

  567. But he is there and he is interceding for us.

  568. What does that mean? Hebrews chapter 7 makes this

    Hebrews 7 chapter mention

  569. very clear. Verse 23 says now, there have

  570. been many of those priests talking about the lineage of

  571. high priest under the levitical system since death prevented

  572. them from continuing and office. He said, there's been a lot of

  573. them because they all die. That's one.

  574. Common thing that we all have in common, isn't it?

  575. We all die. But because Jesus lives forever.

  576. He has a permanent priesthood. All of the priests in the Old

  577. Testament. Time had a temporary priesthood.

  578. It was for their life, but when their life was over, it was

  579. done. But Christ who lives forever,

  580. the resurrection and the life. He is a permanent priesthood.

  581. Therefore, he is watch this able to save completely those who

  582. come to God through him. He doesn't need your help, he

  583. doesn't need anything extra from you.

  584. He is able through his intercessory work, as the

  585. atoning sacrifice to save you completely because he always

  586. lives to intercede for them. What Does that mean?

  587. That means this one Kirk misses up on this Earth as a nun,

  588. glorified believer. When I blow it though, I don't

  589. want to blow it. I long to live a life that is

  590. pleasing to God. But when I do, because I do, and

  591. I can just be around me long enough and I'll prove that. when

  592. I do, Christ intercedes on my behalf.

  593. None of my sins as a Believer will be held to my charge

  594. because the great high priest who lives forever is constantly

  595. there in a position of my atonement just as the high

  596. priest would go in once a year and perform sacrifice for the

  597. sins and then a sacrifice for himself.

  598. Christ has presented a sacrifice once and for all and he

  599. continually sits there and that position of intercession as our

  600. great high priest. No sin will be held to my charge

  601. because Christ is the high priest who lives forever that

  602. ought to bring you great assurance that ought to bring

  603. you great confidence. That ought to bring you great

  604. joy and it is the Ascension of Christ.

  605. That shows us. That's where he is.

  606. Jesus isn't wandering, aimlessly around on this earth.

  607. Now, in fact, Jesus said when people start saying here's

  608. Christ, I saw him here and I saw him there.

  609. He said, don't listen to those people. he is seated at the

  610. right hand of the Throne of God, the high priest who lives

  611. forever interceding on behalf of all, who trust in him, and in

  612. his sacrifice, And his Ascension confirms that.

  613. Romans 8, verse 31 says, what shall we say in response to this

    Romans 8:31

  614. if God is for us, who can be against us?

  615. He who did not spare his own son, but gave him up for us all.

  616. How will we will? He not also along with him?

  617. Graciously, give us all things, who will bring any charge

  618. against Those whom God has Justified or chosen none.

  619. You can't bring a charge against, that's why.

  620. Because when it charges brought against us, even by the accuser

  621. of the brain that Brethren's Satan himself.

  622. Jesus says they have been forgiven but you don't know

  623. what? Kurt did.

  624. Yes, I knew it. Kirk did before the foundations

  625. of the earth and he is whiter than snow because of my Twice.

  626. Oh, doesn't that bring you great joy to know that you have an

  627. intercessor who lives forever to intercede for you who will bring

  628. a charge against Those whom God has chosen.

  629. It is God. Who justifies he chose to

  630. justify me? No one could bring a charge

  631. against me. Why?

  632. Because God himself chose me to be righteous in Christ.

  633. And he has declared me righteous.

  634. That's what Justified means. Verse 34, who is he?

  635. That condemns Christ. Jesus.

  636. He's the one who got his appointed to judge the living

  637. and the dead who died and more than that, who was raised to

  638. life. He died and more than that.

  639. He was resurrected and is at the right hand of God, how did he

  640. get to the right hand of God? Don't forget the Ascension of

  641. Christ. He ascended into heaven and

  642. gives us great confidence and great joy.

  643. Because Christ ascended into heaven, we have confidence that

  644. now he is as the word of God says, at the right hand of God

  645. and is also interceding. Or us. when the father sees,

  646. those of us who are in Christ, he sees the righteousness of his

  647. only begotten son, the Lord Jesus that has been imputed to

  648. us because they're in that position of great high priest

  649. Christ, constantly and forever intercedes for us.

  650. What A Savior we have. Ascension confirms.

  651. The intercessory work of Christ in the continual intercessory

  652. work of Christ but it also confirms that Christ will return

  653. again. He will return again.

  654. In fact, if we go to the account of his Ascension in Acts chapter

    Acts 1:9

  655. 1 verse 9, verse 8, he promises the Holy Spirit and that when

  656. the Holy Spirit comes They will receive power to be his

  657. Witnesses. But then he says this in verse 9

  658. or this occurs in verse 9, watch this after he said this, he was

  659. taken up before their very eyes and a cloud hid him from their

  660. sight. He was taken up into the air

  661. raptured if you would for all the people don't want to believe

  662. in a Rapture argue with Jesus about that, he just got raptured

  663. up into heaven. They were looking intently up

  664. into the sky as he was was going when suddenly two men dressed in

  665. white, Stood Beside them. Men of Galilee they said, why do

  666. you stand here looking into the sky?

  667. Where did he go? What do you?

  668. Where did you go? He's been telling you the whole

  669. time. I'm going to the father The

  670. reason I'm going to the father's because I'm the intercessor for

  671. you. You have no hope of going to the

  672. father apart from me. I am the way the truth and the

  673. life. No man comes to the father but

  674. by me because he goes to the father, we can have great joy

  675. knowing this that because he went to the father has at his

  676. Ascension. We too will go to the father as

  677. well, but also, we can have great Joy about because of what

  678. he's about to say. Why do you stand here looking

  679. into the sky? This same Jesus, who has been

  680. taken from you into heaven, will come back in the same way.

  681. You have seen him go into heaven.

  682. We have great joy in knowing that Christ is going to return

  683. when we see the Ascension. She the fact of the Ascension,

  684. it seals the promise of his return. he went away as at his

  685. Ascension from this Earth to the father leaving us a promise that

  686. one day I will return and he's going to return and if the

  687. Ascension of Christ and looking at that doesn't bring you great

  688. joy and the return of Christ because you see his Ascension

  689. Might one examine your heart today to see if you really

  690. believed in the return of Christ?

  691. I don't know about you but I can answer for me.

  692. I longed for his appearing just as the Apostle Paul says, he

  693. longed for his appearing. Why does he longed for his

  694. appearing? Because with his appearing, He

  695. will bring reward, he said there's a crown of righteousness

  696. that is kept for me, but not me only.

  697. But for all of those who long for his appearing, if you don't

  698. long for the appearing of Christ, perhaps there is not a

  699. crown of righteousness that awaits you in and I would dare

  700. to say this if there is not a crown of righteousness that

  701. awaits you, you are not in Christ because it is the crown

  702. of Christ. His righteousness that we will

  703. be crowned with only to take it off. because we are So Unworthy

  704. and to lay it at the feet of Jesus, where it been long, What

  705. great joy we have and talking about the Ascension of Christ

  706. because the Ascension confirms that he will return again.

  707. Psalm 19, the psalmist said this in verse 8, he said the precepts

  708. of the Lord are, right? It's precepts and Promises of

  709. the Lord are right. And he goes on to say giving Joy

  710. to the heart. And we look at all the chaos in

  711. this world, think about the Ascension of Christ.

  712. And what that means, it confirms that he is who he said he is.

  713. Because Christ went back to the father.

  714. I know that he is everything that he said that he is because

  715. Christ has returned it to the father.

  716. I know that everything that he had to do in the Plan of

  717. Redemption, he accomplished, there's nothing else that I can

  718. do. I can't help him out with my

  719. works. I can't help him out with my

  720. baptism. We're about to see baptism in a

  721. second and let me just tell you this any of you who are about to

  722. get baptized thinking that it's going to save you your

  723. dreadfully wrong. You need to be saved this

  724. morning before your baptized because baptism is agreeing with

  725. the death burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ

  726. that you already understand. Baptism.

  727. Won't save you church membership.

  728. Won't save, you religion will not save.

  729. You religion is man's attempt to get to God.

  730. Christ is God coming to man, that is the difference between

  731. Christianity and all the Pagan religions of this world that are

  732. false and leading people to hell.

  733. It is in Christ. We truly know God.

  734. It's almost as the precepts of the Lord are, right?

  735. Giving Joy to the heart. It's when we know Christ and we

  736. know his promises and we dressed in those promises that we walk

  737. enjoy. Thirdly.

  738. Lastly. We walk in Joy by faith in God

  739. in Christ position. This is a big one faith in

  740. Christ position. Verses 29 through 33, speak of

  741. the position of Christ. And disciples said, now you are

  742. speaking clearly, and without figures of speech.

  743. Now we can see that, you know, all things you see how he

  744. transformed their confusion to Clarity.

  745. We see we see now clearly we're hearing you now.

  746. We can see that you know all things and that you do not even

  747. need to have anyone ask you questions, this makes us believe

  748. that you came from God. Jesus clearly failed for them.

  749. His omniscient power that he knows everything and they said

  750. this means you are really God. He says you believe it last but

  751. a time is coming and has come when you will be scattered each

  752. to his own home yet and you will leave me all alone yet, I am not

  753. alone for my father's with me. I told you these things so that

  754. in me, you may have peace in this world.

  755. You will have trouble, but take heart, I have overcome the

  756. world. Jesus is offering joy to his

  757. disciples here based on his position and faith in that

  758. position position. Regarding specifically.

  759. Here is attributes his attributes to know who Christ

  760. is, it's important that each of us who claim Christ in this

  761. room. And in this, World study the

  762. scriptures all that we can so that we can see his attributes

  763. clearly, so that we can know who he really is.

  764. Because there are all sorts of false Christ being presented in

  765. our day, How do we know the true from the counterfeit?

  766. We learned the truth. We learned a true we Focus On

  767. Christ who he is here. They see his attribute of

  768. omniscience though we would serve ourselves well to learn

  769. all of his Divine attributes that we see in scripture, this

  770. specific one here is highlighted They receive Comfort because of

  771. his omniscience, he knows everything.

  772. That should bring us great comfort today to know that

  773. Christ knows everything. He knows your weaknesses.

  774. He knows your Temptations. He knows your flaws.

  775. He knows your shortcoming. He knows your strengths.

  776. He knows your heart. He knows all things and it

  777. brings us great joy as Believers to see that.

  778. That he exercises, his omniscience here, to let us

  779. know. That he knows everything.

  780. And he still loves us. He's not going to hold it

  781. against us. He let them know here, watch it.

  782. You're going to abandon me. I know that too.

  783. That's what they said. They said we see that.

  784. You know everything and so that we know you come from God.

  785. He said I also know that you're going to abandon me Don't beat

  786. yourself up about it. Fathers not going to.

  787. Abandon me. Don't beat yourself up about

  788. that. I do know all thing.

  789. It's not going to shock me when you abandon me.

  790. I'll be fine. So, will you?

  791. Rest in my peace, what a compassionate savior.

  792. He knows. He knows that Peter is going to

  793. deny him just as he is already said. and In This Moment, He

  794. reminds him of it again. and in the context of this is, don't be

  795. troubled by will be troubled by it.

  796. There's a greater plan. I can't help, but go to the

  797. banks of Galilee. where I've actually stood, where they

  798. believe is the actual location where Jesus fed his disciples

  799. fish on the shore of Galilee after his resurrection, when

  800. they saw him there, I can't help but go there and think of Peter

  801. who disrobed and jumped in the water out of a boat, like some

  802. raging lunatic and swam as fast as he could to Christ on that

  803. Seashore, as he had prepared that fish for breakfast.

  804. I can't help, but imagine the joy that flooded the heart.

  805. Saint Peter, when he heard those words, Go feed my sheep.

  806. Go feed my sheep. Oh, I can you imagine everything

  807. in Peters mind is everything began to just come to the front

  808. of his mind? He remembers the conversation

  809. that he and the Lord had in Luke chapter 22.

    Luke 22 chapter mention

  810. Luke 22:31, the Lord says to Peter Simon Simon.

    Luke 22:31

  811. Satan has asked to sift you as wheat?

  812. But I have prayed for you Simon. That your faith may not fail.

  813. Oh, did Peters Humanity fail? Yes.

  814. His faith. Never failed.

  815. We see that on the banks of Galilee his faith never felt.

  816. And when you have turned back, wow, he said, Peter, your faith

  817. is going to hold you. Because it's true.

  818. You can say the same thing about Judas.

  819. You can say that about Peter, he said, and when you have turned

  820. back, Jesus told him right there.

  821. You're going to have an issue. You're in a fall, you're not

  822. going to fail. Faith is going to uphold you.

  823. It's faith mean because of your faith.

  824. In me. I am going to uphold you and

  825. when you return, that's a doctor to perseverance here.

  826. We see it again the True Believer always return and when

  827. you return Strengthen your brothers.

  828. How did he strengthen them with the joy that he received from

  829. the Lord after he was strengthened?

  830. But a gracious compassionate savior.

  831. We see there. We can walk enjoy by faith in

  832. Christ's position regarding his attributes and his great joy in

  833. seeing them to know that he knows all he sees all even

  834. before anything happened. That he is determined in

  835. eternity past to love you. If you were in Christ here, this

  836. morning in spite of you, What joy we have.

  837. They're not only that he's teaching them to walk.

  838. Enjoy. By faith in Christ position

  839. regarding his attributes, but also regarding his

  840. accomplishments. Not only who Christ is, That

  841. wasn't enough. But what Christ did and will do.

  842. For those who are in Christ, we will walk in Great Joy Church

  843. when we learn to rest by faith in the accomplishments of Christ

  844. in, in that alone, not in. Did you get the raise that you

  845. wanted not in? Did you get the promotion that

  846. you wanted? Not in?

  847. Did you score the grade on the test that you desire?

  848. Not in anything of this world? but when we learn to rest, In

  849. the accomplice accomplishments of Christ Alone.

  850. We'll have great joy. Look what he says to them in

  851. this world, you will have trouble.

  852. But take heart. I have overcome the world.

  853. What a statement? He tells them.

  854. You're going to be scattered. He's already told Peter you're

  855. going to deny me. And now he says, there's going

  856. to be all kinds of trouble in this world.

  857. Can we testify to? Yes, that's true.

  858. What he says, for each of us. Take heart.

  859. That means don't lose heart. Don't lose.

  860. Hope. Don't lose faith.

  861. Trust in him, take heart. I have overcome the world.

  862. He says your Hope For Joy is in mine accomplishments.

  863. Well, isn't that true? Any hope of joy that we have in

  864. this wicked and disgusting and dark and satanic and evil World

  865. any hope and joy that we have is found in the accomplishments of

  866. Christ and Christ Alone? John says it like this in his

  867. first epistle chapter 5. He says for everyone born of

  868. God, overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has

  869. overcome the world. Even our faith.

  870. It is a our faith in Christ's victory.

  871. That allows us to overcome the world.

  872. There's so many Christian songs these days about how you're an

  873. overcomer and they forget to say that you're an overcomer only

  874. because of the accomplishments of Christ that he is an

  875. overcomer. You're not an overcomer in and

  876. of yourself because you develop some kind of positive thinking

  877. or some kind of psychological help.

  878. You're not an overcomer in and of yourself at all.

  879. You are the world. But it is in Christ.

  880. And his accomplishment through his death, his burial, his

  881. resurrection, his Ascension and we know his return, it is in

  882. that his accomplishments that we will overcome the world, who is

  883. it? John says That overcomes the

  884. world. Who is it?

  885. The successful. The rich, the famous.

  886. The nice, the perfect. No, who is it?

  887. That overcomes the world. The religious.

  888. No. Who is it?

  889. That overcomes the world only anytime you see the word to only

  890. in your Bible, I want you to start highlighting that and see

  891. how exclusive the gospel is only.

  892. He who believes that Jesus is the son of God.

  893. What Joy? That we receive those of us who

  894. believe that. In this world you have trouble,

  895. but take heart, I have overcome the world, you can have joy in

  896. the midst of this world. In the midst of all the chaos

  897. because I have overcome the world now because you like the

  898. circumstance that you're in. Not because you like the

  899. situation that you're in not because you like the culture

  900. that you live in a country that you live in, not because of

  901. those things. Take heart.

  902. Because my accomplishment, I have overcome the world in your

  903. place. Therefore, now if you were in

  904. Christ, you too are an overcomer you wanna walk enjoy.

  905. Trust by faith in Jesus Christ his position who he truly is, he

  906. is the Overcomer who through his death on a cross.

  907. Overcame sin. He overcame sin for all who will

  908. believe in him. He will forgive you and he will

  909. wash you of that sin. This very day that alienate you

  910. from a holy God. He will allow you to overcome

  911. your sin because he has overcome this world, we trust in Christ

  912. today. Going to walk.

  913. Enjoy trust in Christ. Yes.

  914. You know, walking confusion and chaos and depression anxiety.

  915. Keep trusting in you. One of that angers, a lot of

  916. people. It's the truth because the word

  917. of God says that it's true. In trust in your own emotions.

  918. Don't feelings. Or you can trust by faith in the

  919. accomplishments of Christ. And when you do great, joy is

  920. yours for the taking. You will walk in that Joy, you

  921. have access to that Joy. He is earned it for you.

  922. His accomplishments for his accomplishments, he proved that.

  923. He is truly Lord, that he is truly savior.

  924. And that he truly came from the father.

  925. My, what he did. We learned in John chapter one

  926. way back. Then, verse 14, the word became

  927. flesh and made his dwelling among us.

  928. And we have seen his glory, the glory of the one, and only who

  929. came from the father full of grace.

  930. And Truth. He proved to be exactly who he

  931. said that he is, he's proving it here even more.

  932. So in John chapter 16 promising his disciples joy to walk in

    John 16 chapter mention

  933. through his accomplishments. What accomplishments we don't

  934. Talk about the accomplishments of Christ enough.

  935. How about his virgin birth that could have only happened through

  936. the supernatural power of God. It's impossible for a virgin to

  937. Bear. A child, yet a virgin buried a

  938. child, you say explain that. To me, I cant its immaculate.

  939. It is the Immaculate Conception, it is Supernatural, it is done

  940. by God, there is no explanation for it, it for it.

  941. All I can tell you is that it's true.

  942. Jesus was born of a virgin. What?

  943. An accomplishment. No one ever has been born of a

  944. virgin. No one ever will be born of a

  945. virgin. But the Christ, why?

  946. Because that seed of God was placed into that woman.

  947. Just as Genesis 3:15 said that it would be in his through the

    Genesis 3:15

  948. Virgin birth. That we have great joy in

  949. knowing that our savior is a supernatural savior, all of the

  950. others saviors and said religions were not virgin born.

  951. It's important that you see his accomplishments.

  952. He came into this world. Born of the Virgin, Mary just as

  953. scripture say, Not only that. He lived a powerful life and a

  954. perfect life. He displayed the power of God

  955. through his miracles, through his authority, through his

  956. teaching, he displayed the power of God, through his life of

  957. piety and Perfection, living the letter of the law, perfectly

  958. never sinning. No one else can make that claim.

  959. It is only the Christ mom and cannot make the claim.

  960. That he is perfect for. He is a sinner.

  961. Buddha could not make a claim that he is perfect.

  962. He too is a sinner. All religious leaders, Charles

  963. Taze Russell, the religious leaders of the Jehovah's,

  964. Witness, guess what? He can never claimed to be

  965. perfect. He was a sinner.

  966. The Mormon. Or later as well.

  967. Joseph Smith Center, but it is in Christianity.

  968. It is in Christ that our far master that we follow prove that

  969. he is who he says that he is by his accomplishment of living a

  970. sinless life. How many of the false religions

  971. of this world and say he's a good profit.

  972. Know he is the perfect Savior and his nothing less.

  973. He is the only one to which we can come to God, the Father

  974. accomplishments of Christ should bring us great.

  975. Joy is atoning sacrifice on the cross.

  976. Where he bore the wrath of God. In the place of wicked Center.

  977. Every sin that I ever committed. Has placed upon his back.

  978. The Wrath that I deserve. The death that was mine, Jesus

  979. Christ, bore that death for me, no religious false religious

  980. leader in all the history of all of the false religion ever died

  981. for their people. Yet Christ, didn't only died for

  982. me, he died in my place, satisfying the Wrath of the holy

  983. God satisfy his indignation on my behalf restoring me to a holy

  984. God. Once I was a sinner separated.

  985. Now I have been unified with the master of the universe.

  986. Why the accomplishments of Christ?

  987. It is Christ. Who did this.

  988. It should bring us great joy. To know that our Lord.

  989. That's home for the sacrifice. It's home to as a sacrifice,

  990. excuse me for the center. He is the atoning sacrifice.

  991. We see his accomplishment there on the cross.

  992. What we see is accomplishment in his burial No one other than

  993. Lazarus. During the times of Christ

  994. walked out of a tomb. The only reason that he walked

  995. out of atoms because Jesus told him to because he is the

  996. resurrection and the life and it is in the resurrection of Christ

  997. that accomplishment that we see that he is who he said that he

  998. truly is doing what only God could do.

  999. And we see his Ascension into heaven, had he not come from

1000. Heaven. I can guarantee you this.

1001. He couldn't have returned to Heaven.

1002. He'd already told his followers at No one knows how to get

1003. there. Except he who's come from there

1004. and the only way that you're going to get there is if you

1005. follow me I am the way the truth and the life.

1006. No man comes to the father but by me.

1007. He proved he was through his accomplishments his Ascension

1008. into heaven, where he sits at the right hand and making

1009. intercession for those who believe.

1010. And he will prove one day. To the whole world.

1011. At his return. When he comes to judge the

1012. living and the dead. Those of you men who are here on

1013. Thursday nights, we are in Revelation.

1014. The 19th Chapter, we have just seen the marriage banquet of the

1015. Lamb. And Christ is about to put his

1016. foot, in the Stirrup of that white stallion.

1017. And the host of Heaven who are clothed in white because of him

1018. are about to return to the Earth where he will rule and Reign

1019. forever. We can think of his

1020. accomplishments that have not yet come to pass.

1021. Why? Because they are written in

1022. eternity past they are as good as done.

1023. He will return. That ought to bring us great

1024. joy. Can't we find true joy and walk

1025. and true Joy regarding the accomplishments of Christ.

1026. Oh, we don't Ponder those things enough.

1027. Do we Christian So, what do we do with this?

1028. What do we do with the lesson on walking enjoy?

1029. We asked this question. Of course, are you walking

1030. enjoy? Are you walking enjoyed today?

1031. In order to answer that question, you have to answer

1032. some others. Are you in Christ?

1033. I'm not talking about. Are you in church?

  1034. You're here. That's already answered.

1035. Going to church, doesn't mean you're in Christ.

1036. It means you're in a building with Christian.

1037. Being raised in a Christian home, doesn't mean that you're

1038. in Christ, it means that you were fortunate enough to be

1039. raised in a Christian home. I'm asking you this question.

1040. Are you in Christ in reference to the joy that we talked about

1041. this morning? Because if you're not in Christ,

1042. you do not have access to his Joy.

1043. It's not for you. For those who are in Christ,

1044. have you truly surrendered to Jesus as your lord and savior?

1045. That's the question that I'm asking you today.

1046. Have you surrendered to Christ? Have you trusted in him to

1047. forgive you of your sin and to place you in right standing with

1048. God, the father, have you repented of your wickedness and

1049. turn to him and him alone to save you, have you?

1050. If you haven't, perhaps today, you will turn from your sin and

1051. turn to Christ as a spirit draws, you and Woos you out of

1052. Darkness that you'll turn from the religions of this world.

1053. And you will turn from all of the chaos of this world, and you

1054. will turn to Christ and Christ Alone who will save you.

1055. Whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

1056. Will you call upon him today as the spirit draws you to receive

1057. salvation? Maybe you are saved today, you

1058. know, Christ. Are you walking in joy as a

1059. believer? Are you walking in that Joy?

1060. Are you walking in the joy that he provided for you through his

1061. accomplishments? Are you for fitting?

1062. That Joy is f what Jesus did for.

1063. You doesn't really matter. It does matter.

1064. Doesn't it? It does matter that we exercise,

1065. the blessings that we've been given enjoy is one of those

1066. blessings are you walking in that by trusting, in God's

1067. transforming power, perhaps you're in a situation now, you

1068. need God to transform that situation.

1069. Are you resting in him with great joy in knowing that he's

1070. in control? Are you resting in a familiar?

1071. Passage of scripture that I've mentioned over and over in

1072. Romans 8:28 that all things are working to the good to those,

    Romans 8:28

1073. who love him who are called. According to his purpose.

1074. Are you resting in that? That brings great joy in your

1075. life? Not you're missing out on a

1076. promise that Jesus is giving to his disciples here.

1077. Are you walking enjoy by believing in God's promises

1078. trusting in his word. I want to help you if you're not

1079. reading his word daily, you're not.

1080. I don't say that the beat you up, I say that because I love

1081. you. I don't want you to miss out on

1082. the joy that comes with knowing and walking in the promises that

1083. we find here in the word of God, get into it and read it is.

1084. So when I don't understand it, get into a Bible study where

1085. they teach it. Then, as you continue to study

1086. it, you will see that your confusion is, says it did in the

1087. lives of the disciple. It's transformed into Clarity.

1088. You begin to learn. You begin to grow.

1089. Are you walking enjoy believing in the promises of God?

1090. Are you indifferent to the word of God?

1091. Indifference to the word of God seems to be an epidemic in the

1092. so-called church. I might bring my Bible to church

1093. with me, I might read it, I might not this is just for free

1094. it has nothing to do with the sermon.

1095. Get in the word. See, if you're not overwhelmed

1096. with joy, in the promises of God, see if he's not faithful to

1097. every single one of them, are you walking enjoy by faith in

1098. Christ position? Are you trusting in who Christ

1099. really is the fact that he is truly king of kings and Lord of

1100. lords, and that by his accomplishments, your

1101. relationship with God, the father has been settled once and

1102. for all, are you walking in the joy of those things?

1103. If not Christian, I would say to you, repent confess.

1104. See what it is in your life that has waited you down.

1105. That's inner that weight that so easily entangles.

1106. You cast it off today as you confess your sin to the Lord

1107. knowing this that he is faithful and just to forgive you, your

1108. sins and cleanse you from all unrighteousness.

1109. If you're here today and you're not a believer, You will live a

1110. life. With the absence of joy.

1111. Only to spend an eternity in hell with an eternal absence of

1112. joy. Trust in Christ today that your

1113. joy may be complete. Let's pray together, father in

1114. the name of Jesus, we thank you for your word.

1115. We thank you for truth. As your truth is gone forth.

1116. May it do exactly what you desire for it to do.

1117. May it draws Sinners to repentance and Faith this

1118. morning. may it encouraged the same.

1119. And may we rejoice in the joy that we have in Christ.

1120. Holy Spirit. We yield to you.

1121. May your work be done in Jesus name.
